George Soros has reportedly offered his ex-girlfriend’s cousin $250,000 to persuade her to drop her lawsuit against him.

Mauricio Carneiro, a lawyer, is the cousin of Adriana Ferreyr, 31, the ex-girlfriend of the 81-year-old billionaire. Carneiro claims that Soros offered him the money as a bribe to convince his cousin to drop her $50 million lawsuit against Soros, which included “claims of emotional torture, harassment and violence—all denied by the twice-divorced Soros.”

New York Daily News reports:

“Pursuant to your conversation with George Soros . . . I understand you may wish to be helpful with the situation,” the billionaire’s lawyer William Zabel wrote to Carneiro in an email seen by The News.

Carneiro fired back that he could not be bought. “I was shocked that George called me to offer me $250,000 in order to get my sympathy, get rid of her lawyers and settle the case.” …

Ferreyr and Soros dated for five years, and she says he dangled the promise of a luxury E. 85th St. pad three times.

In August 2010, while they were in bed, Soros told Ferreyr he had finally bought the apartment — for another girlfriend, according court papers.

An argument ensued, and the beauty claims the elderly man choked and slapped her and threw a lamp, cutting her foot.

Soros-Funded Group Behind Course for Journalists That Downplays 'Jihad'

Program launched to teach press about Muslim sensitivities blames 'right-wing activists.' (hat tip Brandy)

A new course on Islam designed for journalists tries to minimize the impact and importance of ''jihad'' by comparing it to the number of murders in America each year. That same course claims ''right-wing activists'' tried to tie American Muslims to terrorism and doesn't mention examples of Islamic attacks on press freedom.

That's the way a prominent news organization is teaching journalists in a three-hour online course. The Poynter News University, part of the Poynter Institute, launched the free course ''Covering Islam in America'' to guide the media on their coverage of Muslim communities.

The George Soros-funded Social Science Research Council, which received $50,000 from the Open Society Institute ''For Initiative on HIV/AIDS and Social Transformation,'' is one of the groups behind the initiative, along with the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University. That fits with a theme for liberal financier Soros, who has spent more than $52 million on influencing the media. The Islamic course also links to another Soros-funded entity, the well-financed Center for American Progress.

In about 30 pages of text with links to other reports and articles, journalists can go through and read about the history of Islam, Muslims in America, and how to cover stories on Islam. Besides learning basic facts about Muslims and their history, the course adds ways to put ''jihad'' into perspective, attack conservatives, and provide a list of liberal groups that can be contacted for expert advice and quotes.

The pre and post-assessments give a hint as to the nature of the course. One question asked, ''What grievances might sources associated with 'Political Islam' hold against Western journalists?'' The answer is that ''Western journalists are seen as all of the following: ''hostile to Islam,'' ''focus too much on Islamic violence,'' ''viewed as water carriers for Western government agendas,'' and ''thought to be unable to understand Islam unless they embrace Islam.''

Course instructors Lawrence Pintak and Stephen Franklin are both former foreign correspondents. Pintak serves as dean at The Edward R. Murrow College of Communication at Washington State University, which is a partner of the project. He also has two books on journalism and Islam and defends the biased, activist network Al Jazzera English.

This course is ''A project of The Poynter Institute funded by The Knight Foundation.'' Soros's Open Society Foundations have worked closely with The Knight Foundation. They partnered up to start the Investigative News Network, which received $200,000 from the Knight Foundation and $100,000 from the Open Society Foundations. The Knight Foundations President and CEO, Alberto Ibarguen, is also on the board for AOL and yet another key Soros backed group, the progressive investigative reporting start-up ProPublica.

There is some useful information in the Islamic course for those journalists that did not pay attention in their history classes and are ignorant of Islamic beliefs. However, this does not excuse statements that accuse conservatives of bigotry.

The reports that journalists are told to look at to uncover the ''right-wing activists'' agenda are even more telling. The first is a report from none other than the Soros-funded progressive group Center for American Progress, which received $7.3 million from the Open Society Foundations since the year 2000.

Fear, Inc.: The Roots of the Islamophobia Network in America, details charitable groups that ''spent almost $43 million financing anti-Muslim campaigns.'' One of the coauthors of the report is the Koch-hating Lee Fang, who writes for Center's left-wing blog Think Progress. Fang continuously goes after the Koch brothers for their contributions to conservatives and Tea Party support.

The other report is by The Tennessean in Nashville titled Anti-Muslim Crusaders Make Millions Spreading Fear. This article details the story of ''activists who have raised millions of dollars after they convinced donors that the nation's Muslim population posed a security threat.''

Another section of the course also encourages journalists to add context to their stories. They note it is important to explain political motives stating ''Politicians do not oppose or support proposed mosques and other Muslim-American projects without taking into account their own interests.''

One of the more offensive statements is that ''context is essential in covering this global story in a way that does not amplify fears of jihad.'' Journalists ''are far more likely to report on jihad-related incidents than other violence' which gives people a ''skewed impression of the prevalence of jihad.''

SOROS Major News Organizations

Chances are you or folks you know have been brainwashed and conned by, arguably, one of the most evil men that walks the earth. Soros is hardcore; a nazi at 12, he assisted in the round-ups and confiscation of Jewish property. He was mentored by and was a longtime associate of Francois Genoud, Hitler's and Hitler's ally at the time, Mufti al-Husseini's (leader of the Muslim world) banker.

Since then, Soros — convicted in France for insider trading — has his wicked hand in every evil thing: the legalization of drugs and prostitution; betting against America and making millions by making what he called “a good call against the dollar”; violating the U.N.’s neutrality by funneling money through its Development Program to Georgia’s President. He was financier of guilty terror lawyer Lynne Stewart’s defense fund; and was involved via his stooges at America Coming Together in election fraud and, via his investment in WellCare, in Medicare irregularities.

But the most valuable and dangerous currency he traffics in is information/news, or in his case, propaganda.

Opinion Why Don't We Hear About Soros' Ties to Over 30 Major News Organizations? FOX (hat tip Armaros)

When liberal investor George Soros gave $1.8 million to National Public Radio , it became part of the firestorm of controversy that jeopardized NPR’s federal funding. But that gift only hints at the widespread influence the controversial billionaire has on the mainstream media. Soros, who spent $27 million trying to defeat President Bush in 2004, has ties to more than 30 mainstream news outlets – including The New York Times, Washington Post, the Associated Press, NBC and ABC.

Prominent journalists like ABC’s Christiane Amanpour and former Washington Post editor and now Vice President Len Downie serve on boards of operations that take Soros cash. This despite the Society of Professional Journalists' ethical code stating: “avoid all conflicts real or perceived.”

This information is part of an upcoming report by the Media Research Centers Business & Media Institute which has been looking into George Soros and his influence on the media.

The investigative reporting start-up ProPublica is a prime example. ProPublica, which recently won its second Pulitzer Prize, initially was given millions of dollars from the Sandler Foundation to “strengthen the progressive infrastructure” – “progressive” being the code word for very liberal. In 2010, it also received a two-year contribution of $125,000 each year from the Open Society Foundations. In case you wonder where that money comes from, the OSF website is www.soros.org. It is a network of more than 30 international foundations, mostly funded by Soros, who has contributed more than $8 billion to those efforts.

The ProPublica stories are thoroughly researched by top-notch staffers who used to work at some of the biggest news outlets in the nation. But the topics are almost laughably left-wing. The site’s proud list of  “Our Investigations” includes attacks on oil companies, gas companies, the health care industry, for-profit schools and more. More than 100 stories on the latest lefty cause: opposition to drilling for natural gas by hydraulic fracking. Another 100 on the evils of the foreclosure industry.

Throw in a couple investigations making the military look bad and another about prisoners at Guantanamo Bay and you have almost the perfect journalism fantasy – a huge budget, lots of major media partners and a liberal agenda unconstrained by advertising.

One more thing: a 14-person Journalism Advisory Board, stacked with CNN’s David Gergen and representatives from top newspapers, a former publisher of The Wall Street Journal and the editor-in-chief of Simon & Schuster. Several are working journalists, including:

• Jill Abramson, a managing editor of The New York Times;

• Kerry Smith, the senior vice president for editorial quality of ABC News;

• Cynthia A. Tucker, the editor of the editorial page of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

ProPublica is far from the only Soros-funded organization that is stacked with members of the supposedly neutral press. 

The Center for Public Integrity is another great example. Its board of directors is filled with working journalists like Amanpour from ABC, right along side blatant liberal media types like Arianna Huffington, of the Huffington Post and now AOL.

Like ProPublica, the CPI board is a veritable Who’s Who of journalism and top media organizations, including:

• Christiane Amanpour – Anchor of ABC’s Sunday morning political affairs program, “This Week with Christiane Amanpour.” A reliable lefty, she has called tax cuts “giveaways,” the Tea Party “extreme,” and Obama “very Reaganesque.” 

• Paula Madison – Executive vice president and chief diversity officer for NBC Universal, who leads NBC Universal’s corporate diversity initiatives, spanning all broadcast television, cable, digital, and film properties.

• Matt Thompson – Editorial product manager at National Public Radio and an adjunct faculty member at the prominent Poynter Institute.

Once again, like ProPublica, the center’s investigations are mostly liberal – attacks on the coal industry, payday loans and conservatives like Mississippi Gov. Haley Barbour. The Center for Public Integrity is also more open about its politics, including a detailed investigation into conservative funders David and Charles Koch and their “web of influence.”According to the center’s own 990 tax forms, the Open Society Institute gave it $651,650 in 2009 alone.

The well-known Center for Investigative Reporting follows the same template – important journalists on the board and a liberal editorial agenda. Both the board of directors and the advisory board contain journalists from major news outlets. The board features:

• Phil Bronstein (President), San Francisco Chronicle;

• David Boardman, The Seattle Times;

• Len Downie, former Executive Editor of the Washington Post, now VP;

• George Osterkamp, CBS News producer.

Readers of the site are greeted with numerous stories on climate change, illegal immigration and the evils of big companies. It counts among its media partners The Washington Post, Salon, CNN and ABC News. CIR received close to $1 million from Open Society from 2003 to 2008.

Why does it all matter? Journalists, we are constantly told, are neutral in their reporting. In almost the same breath, many bemoan the influence of money in politics. It is a maxim of both the left and many in the media that conservatives are bought and paid for by business interests. Yet where are the concerns about where their money comes from?

Fred Brown, who recently revised the book “Journalism Ethics: A Casebook of Professional Conduct for News Media,” argues journalists need to be “transparent” about their connections and “be up front about your relationship” with those who fund you.

Unfortunately, that rarely happens. While the nonprofits list who sits on their boards, the news outlets they work for make little or no effort to connect those dots. Amanpour’s biography page, for instance, talks about her lengthy career, her time at CNN and her many awards. It makes no mention of her affiliation with the Center for Public Integrity.

If journalists were more up front, they would have to admit numerous uncomfortable connections with groups that push a liberal agenda, many of them funded by the stridently liberal George Soros. So don’t expect that transparency any time soon.

The House passed a bill Thursday - with many voting along party lines - to block federal funding of National Public Radio . The bill is not expected to pass the Senate and the White House opposes it.

Texas Republicans, who all voted in favor of the bill, argue that the defunding of NPR isn't about ideological differences, but another way to curb government spending.

"The only way to control our federal debt is to re-focus our federal spending," said Rep. Joe Barton , R-Arlington. "This vote wasn't about ideology; it was about getting our fiscal house in order."

Rep. Jeb Hensarling, R-Dallas, said that defunding NPR was a "way to reduce job-destroying spending."

"NPR is widely recognized as a partisan media outlet that has long served as a platform for decidedly left-leaning programming and commentary," Hensarling said. "This is a highly objectionable trait for an organization that is funded by American taxpayers."

On March 8th, Project Veritas released Part 1 of its investigation of National Public Radio, followed by a second release.  The investigation, in which Project Veritas investigators posed as members of a fictional group founded by "members of the Muslim Brotherhood," was widely reported in the media and produced a dramatic response from NPR and its board members.

The a[bove] video contains a full conversation between Project Veritas' undercover investigator, Simon Templar, and Betsy Liley, NPR's Senior Director of Institutional Giving along with James O'Keefe's call to George Soros' Open Society Foundation.

Betsy Liley, the taxpayer-funded radio network’s director of institutional giving is heard saying controversial left-wing billionaire George Soros has donated to the organization before last October’s $1.8 million gift. Liley is currently on administrative leave, but her bosses, Ron Schiller, the president of NPR’s nonprofit foundation, and NPR CEO Vivian Schiller (no relation) were both fired.

Liley brought up Soros and his nonprofit organization, the Open Society Institute, while discussing what kind of on-air publicity the Muslim Education Action Center (MEAC) Trust would want in exchange for its donation. Liley mentioned that Soros and his organization decided they didn’t want on-air publicity for their donation to avoid conservatives’ scrutiny.

“George Soros and the Open Society Institute gave us $1.8 million, and they have decided not to use on-air credits because of what’s happening in Congress,” Liley said. When the man she thought represented the fictitious Muslim Brotherhood front group asked her how Soros’s donation and “what’s happening in Congress,” relate, Liley said conservatives tried to link Soros’s donation to Juan Williams’s firing.

“I think the first gift was within the first year he set up the Foundation, which was 10 or 15 years ago,” Liley said. “But, it was a different political situation and current events were a little different, and so, it went through – I was not here, but I think it went – there wasn’t a press hullabaloo. I mean, the Open Society Institute was getting – you know, the conservatives on some of the websites, were having people call his foundation. The press was calling and so, it became, kind of – you know they got roped into the Juan Williams thing, which they didn’t feel like they needed to be.”

One of the main groups organizing protests against the pro-Western king of Morocco is funded by philanthropist George Soros and the U.S. State Department.

Soros' Open Society Institute also has funded opposition groups across the Middle East and North Africa, including organizations involved in the current chaos.The Human Rights Education Associates opened its offices in Morocco in 2004 with funds provided by both the State Department and the Open Society Institute.

It was a key supporter of Sunday's protests in Morocco demanding that King Mohammed VI's powers be limited while pushing for constitutional reforms that would allow opposition parties to join the government. The banned Islamist Justice and Charity is believed to be the country's biggest opposition force. It joined together this past Sunday with a coalition of leftist parties that held mass protests in cities across Morocco that turned violent.

Five burned bodies reportedly were found in a bank set ablaze in a north Moroccan town where some of the violence was reported.Morocco Interior Minister Taib Cherkaoui said yesterday 128 people, including 115 members of the security forces, were wounded in violence in several other Moroccan towns following this weekend's unrest.

The protests were organized under the umbrella of the "February 20 Movement for Change," which boasts 19,000 Facebook fans. It officially is calling for the 47-year-old king to dismiss the government and dissolve parliament. The protests were unusual for a country in which King Mohammed is widely considered popular, although Islamic groups seek his removal from office.
 
Mohammed, who took the throne in 1999, is an ally in the U.S.-led fight against terrorism. He even repeatedly has stated he is willing to normalize relations with Israel once a peace agreement is signed with the Palestinians. Mohammed is also Western oriented. He has dramatically improved Morocco's human rights record and has been a champion of women's rights and a more open economy.
 
The Soros-funded Human Rights Education Associates has been engaged in teacher training and national training for family judges in Morocco.
 It marks the latest connection of the philanthropist activist to protests sweeping the Middle East and North Africa.
 
Soros' Open Society Institute's Middle East and North Africa Initiative has provided numerous grants to a wide range of projects that promote so-called democratic issues across the region, including in Egypt, where the Muslim Brotherhood stands to gain from any future election. The Open Society also funded the main opposition voice in Tunisia, Radio Kalima, which championed the riots there that led to the ouster of President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali.
 
WND reported last week an international "crisis management" group led by Soros long has petitioned for the Algerian government to cease "excessive" military activities against al-Qaida-linked groups and to allow organizations seeking to create an Islamic state to participate in the Algerian government.
 
Like Morocco, Algeria last week was the site of violent anti-regime protests.
 
The organization, the International Crisis Group, also is tied strongly to the Egyptian opposition movement whose protests led to the ouster of Mubarak.
 
Following protests that led to the resignations of Mubarak and Ben Ali – both key U.S. allies – Algeria similarly has been engulfed in anti-regime riots.
 
Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika has ruled the country with a tough hand. And he has been an ally of the U.S. in fighting al-Qaida.
 
Islamist parties serve as Bouteflika's main opposition.
 
The International Crisis Group, or ICG, which includes Soros among its eight executive committee members, long has petitioned for the reformation of the Algerian government and for the inclusion of Islamist political parties, two groups that seek to turn Algeria into an Islamic state.
 
In a July 2004 ICG report obtained by WND, the ICG calls on the Algerian government to curb military action against al-Qaida-affiliated organizations, particularly the Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat, GSPC, which, like the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood, aims to establish an Islamic state within Algeria, and an armed Islamic terrorist group known as Houmat Daawa Salafia, or HDS.
 
Soros' ICG names the two Islamic groups in its recommendations to the Algerian government.
 
"Give top priority to ending the remaining armed movements, mainly the GSPC and HDS, through a political, security, legal and diplomatic strategy," states the ICG report.
 
"Avoid excessive reliance on military means and do not allow these movements' purported links to al-Qaida to rule out a negotiated end to their campaigns," continued the ICG's recommendation to the Algerian government.
 
The ICG has issued at least six other reports recommending Algeria transition to a democracy that will allow the participation of the Islamic groups seeking to create a Muslim caliphate.

New York, NY, November 11, 2010 … The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) today criticized as "completely inappropriate and offensive" remarks by Glenn Beck on his radio and television programs, in which he inaccurately connected George Soros, who was then a young boy, to the actions of others in sending Jews to death camps during the Holocaust.

I received intel from David W on the connection and association of George Soros and Nazi Third Reich’s treasure keeper Francois Genoud.

Genoud was part of the Nazi party.  He met with and funded the Grand Mufti under orders from Hitler.  He managed the hidden Nazi treasury after the war, and funded the defense of many of the Nazis’ and terrorists up until his suicide.  He admitted to being the creator of the 1972 hijacking of a commercial plane by Palestinians.  He was creator and owner of Arab Commercial Bank of Switzerland that many muslim countries and terrorist organizations use, and he used the banks money to fund the operations of terrorism, and the defense of many of his allies, he may have even started his bank with the Nazi treasury that was stolen goods and gold from the Jews.

He is on record saying that Adolph Hitler wanted the Nazi National Socialist Movement to proceed in the Third World countries of the world.  He has been printed saying the Hitler wanted the movement to move from Naziism, to Islamism and to carry on the National Socialism movement to gain control of the world and to exterminate Jews.  Hitler, Genoud, and the Grand Mufti agreed that the only war for this to happen was to inflame the Middle East countries.  Genoud then funded the organizations that would do this.  Genoud funded David Irving in 1982 a writer but with no training in history to discredit Ann Franks Diaries, stated that the extermination of Jews never occurred, Hitler knew nothing of the prisoner camps, and that only 1 million Jews died.

Genoud is also quoted as saying that Hitler and he agreed that for the National Socialist movement to wil and control the world another war would never have to be faught.  And that the Third World countries could win.

Viciously Anti-Jewish "J" Street Funded by George Soros

Numerous outlets are reporting that Soros is the dirty money behind the front group to destroy Israel, J Street. Of course it was Soros. Soros vowed years ago to start an anti-Jewish org to counter AIPAC under the nefarious guise of a Jewish organization, knowing full well that there would be lowlife Jews who would be only too happy to function as funktionshäftling.

What galled me was the tragic gullibility of leading American Jewish organizations that insisted Soros was not funding J Street. I spoke to numerous heads of various organizations after J Street had been established and they were parroting the leftist/Islamic narrative that it wasn't Soros financing it.

It took extraordinary delusion. Back in October of 2006 (before there was a J Street), I reported on Soros pairing with "dovish Jews" to consider an alternative to AIPAC in order to, at the very least, undermine it, and eventually destroy it (go here).

WASHINGTON, Oct. 10,2006 (JTA) – A top staffer for billionaire philanthropist George Soros met recently with senior representatives of the dovish pro-Israel community to discuss setting up an alternative to the American Israel Public Affairs Committee, JTA has learned.

Morton Halperin, a director of Soros’ Open Society Institute and a veteran of senior positions in the Clinton, Nixon and Johnson administrations, confirmed to JTA that the meeting took place late last month. He would not add details.

“It was a private meeting, it was an effort to get this off the ground,” said Halperin, who directs the institute’s U.S. advocacy.

Of course, it was common knowledge that J Street was an anti-Israel, anti-semitic, fringe organization that no one took seriously. Think Code Pink. That is, until Obama. Obama is a longtime Soros toy, so it was no surprise when White House visitor logs had J Street president Jeremy Ben-Ami as a frequent visitor.

Despite Obama's tacit support of this dangerous group and O's preference for the company of Jew-haters, the vile anti-Jewish J Street is being shunned by K street, Congress, and anyone with an ounce of basic human decency. Only Obama sanctioned this stain on humanity. Another revolting notch in the belt of the enemy in the White House.

Crypto-anti-Zionist J Street is a 501(c)(4) organization, allowing it to keep the source of its funding under wraps. But Eli Lake, an enquiring reporter from the Washington Times, got a peek anyway and here's what he found:

• The Jewish-American advocacy group J Street, which bills itself as the dovish alternative to the influential American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) lobby, has secretly received funding from billionaire George Soros despite previous denials that it accepted funds from the Hungarian-born financier and liberal political activist.
• Tax forms obtained by The Washington Times reveal that Mr. Soros and his two children, Jonathan and Andrea Soros, contributed a total $245,000 to J Street from one Manhattan address in New York during the fiscal year from July 1, 2008 to June 30, 2009 .
• The contributions represent a third of the group's revenue from U.S. sources during the period. Nearly half of J Street's revenue during the timeframe — a total of $811,697 — however, came from a single donor in Happy Valley, Hong Kong, named Consolacion Esdicul.

Perhaps the strangest thing in Eli Lake's story on the funding of the liberal group J Street is that it got half of its money in 2008-9 from a single, obscure woman in China.

The group's 990 forms -- which I've also obtained and put online for the first time here -- show the group's single largest contribution, in the odd sum of $811,697 coming from one Consolacion Ediscul of Happy Valley, a Hong Kong suburb. Ediscul, whose name is Filipino, has no presence on Google or Nexis aside from this story, and people I spoke to in Jewish groups left and right had never heard of her. According to Smith, a J-Street spokeswoman says that Ediscul is an associate of a well-known and successful gambler, but provided no other information.

A reader (see comments) located what he believes to be Ediscul's Facebook profile.  It has had no activity since May, and has no friends or entries other than to an online cooking game:

The commenter who noted these pages referred to The Advantage Trust as being related to Blackrock investments, but it appears to be controlled by or at least related to William Benter, the successful businessman / gambler mentioned in the Ben Smith post.  So if the elusive Ms. Esdicul contributed to the charity in Honk Kong on behalf of The Advantage Trust, was her contribution to J-Street also using money from The Advantage Trust and/or Benter?

The mysterious large donor, Consolacion Esdicul, is better known as "Connie Esdicul" and even has a Facebook page. She appears to be a middle-aged woman who lives in the wealthy Happy Valley area of Hong Kong.

Ms.Esdicul has some unknown relationship with the New York hedge fund Black Rock and represented them at a charity event in HK. She presented a donation for Quality Camp to actor, Jackie Chan, from the Black Rock Advantage Fund in HK.

Black Rock has close ties to Soros ever since one of its founders, Keith Anderson, was appointed Chief Investment Officer of Soros Fund Management 2 years ago.

Genoud is notable for being the executor of last will and testament of Nazi propagandist Joseph Goebbels, and for reportedly making a fortune from publishing Goebbels' diaries; later he would attain an equal measure of notoriety for bankrolling the legal defenses of Adolf Eichmann and Klaus Barbie.^[1] Nazi hunters such as Serge Klarsfeld and Simon Wiesenthal, journalist David Lee Preston and others have asserted that his role as a benefactor for surviving National Socialist interests goes much deeper, offering evidence that Genoud was no less than the principal financial manager of the hidden Swiss assets of the Third Reich after WW II,^[2] and would use his banking contacts to set in motion networks that later became known as ODESSA, which sponsored evacuation of key Nazi leaders into Morocco, Spain and Latin America.

In 1958 he founded the Arab Commercial Bank, which would be active in lending money to Arab nationalist groups and as the chief repository for the Algerian National Liberation Front,^[3] in Geneva in 1958, and in 1962 was named Director of the Arab People's Bank in Algiers.^[4] He is also believed by Swiss authorities to have been the founder of Lugano-based al Taqwa Bank, which was shut down in 2002 for reputed status as a funding conduit for al Qaeda and Hamas.

In the late sixties Genoud began selling weapons to various Palestinian groups but his closest relations were with Dr. Habash's Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine ^[5]

Genoud also financed the legal defense of Carlos the Jackal after his 1994 arrest, and was a firm supporter of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, in cooperation with radical lawyer Jacques Verges; he also bankrolled Ayatollah Khomeini's exile in France when Iran was governed by Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi. When Genoud himself faced legal troubles in 1983, he was represented by Baudoin Dunant, a leading Geneva-based lawyer who sits on the board of over 20 companies, including the Saudi Investment Company, the overseas arm of the Saudi Binladin Group.^[6]

Soros swoops in, takes another bank WND

Accusations of favoritism swirl in deals for institutions seized by government

A company formed by an investor group that includes billionaire George Soros swooped in to purchase a failed California bank in the latest acquisition by the company, despite controversy surrounding some of its previous bank takeovers.

OneWest Bank entered into a purchase and assumption agreement with the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, or FDIC, for the acquisition of all of the deposits and certain assets of La Jolla Bank.

The acquisition is the latest in a string of failed bank purchases for the California-based OneWest, a federal savings bank formed by an investor group that includes billionaire George Soros and Dell Inc. founder Michael Dell.

According to a press release, under the terms of the transaction OneWest acquired $3.6 billion in assets, including $3.3 billion in loans, and $2.8 billion in deposits of La Jolla, as of Dec. 31, 2009. The FDIC and OneWest have entered into a loss-sharing agreement covering a majority of the acquired loans.

Last March OneWest completed the purchase for $13.9 billion of the failed lender IndyMac Federal Bank, described as one of the largest casualties of the housing crisis. IndyMac had been seized by the government prior to OneWest's purchase.

OneWest also reportedly acquired and will continue to operate Financial Freedom, one of the nation's largest reverse mortgage businesses, as part of that deal.

Another bank which recently entered a deal with OneWest is First Federal Bank of California, which had been closed by the FDIC. All deposits were transferred to OneWest, with California locations reopening as branches of OneWest Bank.

Investment News quoted insiders as saying the true draw for the kinds of purchases by OneWest are the properties and real estate debt the banks hold.

About 6 months ago I was watching a news program on oil and one of the Forbes Bros. was the guest. This is out of context, but this is the actual question as asked. The host said to Forbes, "I am going to ask you a direct question and I would like a direct answer, how much oil does the U.S. have in the ground." It was a revised report (hadn't been updated since '95) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota ; western South Dakota ; and extreme eastern Montana ..... check THIS out:

The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels. But they're funding projects in Brazil. The Wall Street Journal:

The U.S. is going to lend billions of dollars to Brazil's state-owned oil company, Petrobras, to finance exploration of the huge offshore discovery in Brazil's Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro. Brazil's planning minister confirmed that White House National Security Adviser James Jones met this month with Brazilian officials to talk about the loan.

The U.S. Export-Import Bank tells us it has issued a "preliminary commitment" letter to Petrobras in the amount of $2 billion and has discussed with Brazil the possibility of increasing that amount. Ex-Im Bank says it has not decided whether the money will come in the form of a direct loan or loan guarantees. Either way, this corporate foreign aid may strike some readers as odd, given that the U.S. Treasury seems desperate for cash and Petrobras is one of the largest corporations in the Americas.

Chevron U.S.A. Inc. announced that the Discoverer Clear Leader -- an ultra-deepwater drillship -- has begun work in the deepwater U.S. Gulf of Mexico, allowing Chevron to expand its search for new domestic sources of energy.
Chevron is forced to develop new technology to drill in the Gulf's deepwater since most of the US is off limits to oil companies -- thanks to Democrats.

J Street Funded by Muslims and Arabs

I said the J in J Street, the fake Jewish lobbying group, stood for jihad, not Jewish. I was, of course, right. It's no wonder this group of wannabe Jew killers were welcome at the White House:

The J Street political action committee has received tens of thousands of dollars in donations from dozens of Arab and Muslim Americans, as well as from several individuals connected to organizations doing Palestinian and Iranian issues advocacy, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

Additionally, at least two State Department officials connected to Middle East issues have donated to the PAC, which gives money to candidates for US Congress supported by J Street. The organization describes itself as a "pro-Israel, pro-peace" lobby pushing for more American involvement and diplomacy in resolving the Middle East conflict.

Arab and Muslim donors are extremely rare for other organizations that describe themselves as supporters of Israel as J Street does, Jewish leaders at organizations across the political spectrum told The Jerusalem Post. Because most of these other organizations are not PACs, however, US law does not require them to release their donor lists. J Street's non-PAC arm also does not release a complete list of contributors

There is a chilling scene in the 2002 movie "The Pianist." In it the train was already chugging along on the path to insanity and destruction, but before all was destroyed.  The family of the protagonist has been moved into the Warsaw Ghetto and the head of the family is sitting at a table, reading a newspaper.  He looks up and says, "I blame the American Jews."

He was talking to me.

At least, that's how I heard it.  I resolved then not to be our time's analog of a World War II American Jew -- you know, the ones who read the newspapers, see what is happening to Israel, mutter "tsk, tsk" and turn the page.

Others have had similar epiphanies, but the light from our bulbs going off is obscured by the clouds of appeasement and apologies, dressed up as tolerance and even-handedness.

'I'm having a very good crisis,' says Soros as hedge fund managers make billions off recession

George Soros, who predicted the global financial crisis twice before, was one of the few people to anticipate and prepare for the current economic collapse.

Mr Soros said his prediction meant he was better able to brace his Quantum investment fund against the gloabal storm.

But other investors failed to take notice of his prediction and his decision to come out of retirement in 2007 to manage the fund made him $US2.9 billion.

And while the financial crisis continued to deepen across the globe, the 78-year-old still managed to make $1.1 billion last year.

'It is, in a way, the culminating point of my life’s work,' he told national newspaper The Australian.

Soros is one of 25, top hedge fund managers from across Wall Street who have defied the credit crunch crisis to reap a total of $11.6billion (£7.9bn) last year.

On Friday, President Obama reiterated for the umpteenth time his determination to develop a "new relationship" with the Muslim world. On this occasion, the audience was the leaders of Saudi Arabia, Indonesia and the Philippines. Unfortunately, it increasingly appears that, in so doing, he will be embracing the agenda of the Muslim Brotherhood – an organization dedicated to promoting the theo-political-legal program authoritative Islam

calls Shariah and that has the self-described mission of "destroying Western civilization from within."

 

As part of Mr. Obama's "Respect Islam" campaign, he will travel to Turkey in early April. While there, he will not only pay tribute to an Islamist government that has systematically wrested every institution from the secular tradition of Ataturk and put the country squarely on the path to Islamification. He will also participate in something called the "Alliance of Civilizations."

Bat Ye'or said the following of the Alliance of Civilizations  in a speech given at the Counter Jihad conference in Brussels in 2007: The Alliance of Civilizations, created to oppose the clash of civilizations, that is jihad, hasalso added pressure. On 13 November 2006, the High-Level Group of the Alliance ofCivilizations presented its report which sums up the request of the OIC at its Mecca Summit in 2005, after the Cartoons affair. First, it adopts the Islamic view of history and politics byclaiming that everything was fine between the three monotheistic religions until the 19thcentury, when the evil of European colonialism and Zionism destroyed this harmony. Then itaffirms that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the main source of Christian-Muslimantagonism, not the jihadist war and ideology that deny for others the right to exist. It proclaims that this conflict “remains one of the gravest threats to international stability” and formulates recommendations that again echo the OIC requests. Such views mirror Hitler accusing the Jews of fomenting World War II, or the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, praisedin the Hamas charter, the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood which denies Israel’s right to exist.

The recent meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (and here) (OSCE Conference on intolerance and discrimination against Muslims, Cordoba, 9-10 October 2007) is much of the same, a charter of dhimmitude. It examines the means to condition Europeans to respect Muslim immigrants and accept their culture. Although racism against Muslims as well as against any other should be punished, nowhere do we see in any of these texts a genuine desire to understand the fears of Europeans aggressed in their own country by local jihadist cells, their anger at the Muslim scriptures and history loaded with anti-Jewish and anti-Christian stereotypes which they bring into Europe, the continual incitement to hate and war against the infidels, particularly against Israel and America, the inferiority of women and the legal oppression of non-Muslims. The accusations of Islamophobia totally overlook these facts as if they emerge from a vacuum. The Eurabian moral dishonesty that incriminates Israel’s self-defense in order to exist is now projected onto Europe, guilty when protecting itself against Islamic terrorism. Our self-defense is considered an aggression that victimizes Muslims. We are in fact in a logic of dhimmitude within Europe.

The Alliance is a UN-sponsored affair that reflects – as, increasingly do most things the United Nations is involved in – the views of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). The OIC is made up of 57 Muslim-majority nations. Thanks to support from Saudi Arabia and its proxies, the Muslim Brotherhood has become a driving force within the Conference and their agendas largely coincide.

 

For example, in 2005 a communiqué issued after a summit in Mecca declared: "The Conference underlined the need to collectively endeavor to reflect the noble Islamic values, counter Islamophobia, defamation of Islam and its values and desecration of Islamic holy sites, and to effectively coordinate with States as well as regional and international institutions and organizations to urge them to criminalize this phenomenon as a form of racism." 

The logic of dhimmitude.

Ominously, as part of its bid to "criminalize" Islamophobia, the OIC is seeking "deterrent punishments." It insists that not only freedom of expression but all human rights be circumscribed by the OIC's 1990 Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam, which concludes with the caveat that, "All the rights and freedoms stipulated in this Declaration are subject to the Islamic Shariah." Translation: Liberties enshrined in the UN's foundational Universal Declaration of Human Rights are largely rendered null and void.

 

The demand that no criticism of Islam be permitted is the preeminent feature of the Muslim Brotherhood's efforts in the West. In fact, it is but the leading edge of the Brothers' bid to suppress public awareness of the threat posed by their program in societies that pride themselves on religious tolerance, thereby facilitating seditious penetration and influence operations by the Shariah-adherent.

 

A playbook for the latter can be found in a publication issued last fall by the U.S.-Muslim Engagement Project that is being aggressively promoted to the Obama administration and Congress by a number of its non-Muslim participants. Notably, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright recently effusively presented the Project's book entitled Changing Course: A New Direction for U.S. Relations with the Muslim World to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Former Congressman Vin Weber did the same at Grover Norquist's weekly meeting of conservative activists last week.

 

Underwritten largely by George Soros' and other left-wing foundations, Changing Course seems to reflect predominantly the recommendations of groups the government has established are Muslim Brotherhood fronts, such as the Islamic Society of North America and the Muslim Public Affairs Council. Both are represented in the Engagement Project's "Leadership Group." Accordingly, its book calls for:

 

• "engagement with groups that have clearly demonstrated a commitment to nonviolent participation in politics" (read: the Brotherhood);
• "not equat[ing] reform with secularism, nor...assum[ing] that reformers who advocate some form of Shariah as the basis for the rule of law will inevitably abuse human rights or adopt anti-American policies";
• "not supply[ing] additional ammunition to extremists by linking the term ‘Islam' or key tenets of the religion of Islam with the actions of extremist or terrorist groups";
• Launching "an education program comparable in scale" to "the more than $7 billion" invested in the "post-Sputnik U.S. commitment to math and science education" to "education on Islam and Muslims, sustained over a decade or more, focused on teacher training and curriculum in middle and high schools, and colleges."

Emboldened by the promise of this influence operation and the apparent willingness of the Obama administration to embrace the Muslim Brotherhood's agenda – in part, if not in its entirety – the organization's assorted fronts in America are becoming ever more audacious. In response to a long-overdue decision taken by the FBI last year to terminate "sensitivity training" of its agents by one of the most prominent of these fronts, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), assorted Brotherhood groups and operatives reportedly intend to announce that Muslims will henceforth cease any and all cooperation with U.S. law enforcement until CAIR is rehabilitated.

 

Such a step would not only call into question the patriotism of the many Muslims in America who do not embrace the Brotherhood's Shariah agenda – something that would, presumably, be as offensive to them as it would be troubling to the rest of us. It could also expose those engaged in it to criminal charges of "misprision of felony," conspiring to withhold information from the authorities concerning terrorist operations and activities in the Muslim community.

Thereby killing any hope, any hope at all of real reform of Islam.

The message should go forth: Friends of the Muslim Brotherhood are no friends of America. We follow their guidance at our peril.

BLUEPRINT FOR US SURRENDER TO ISLAM: THE US MUSLIM ENGAGEMENT

The left, as its history painfully shows, has always aligned itself with the  totalitarian ideology du jour. The jihad could never have made such enormous strides  into Western society without the leftards carrying their water.

Those on the right considered themselves safe from dhimmitude and oppression. Wrong.

Defenders of America have been acutely aware of the infiltration of Political Islam into Conservative circles.  It's why I along with Robert Spencer and David Horowitz brought Geert Wilders to CPAC.  It was the  only event at the largest gathering in CPAC history that spoke to Islamic Supremacism, freedom of speech and the war on jihad.

What is the next phase in the Muslim Brotherhood's project to overtake America? And how is America caving to Islam? It's happening right before your very eyes. 

Read this document US MUSLIM ENGAGEMENT   - Changing the Course". It's the absolute Obama blueprint. It's all George Soros money and the usual cast of suspects - Madeline Albright, Richard Armitage, Ingrid Mattson, Lugar, Ross ... the obvious cast of craven quislings.

The proposal for "reducing distrust"? Surrender. The document  is deeply informed by the objectives of the OIC and the ummah.  It is a blueprint for our dhimmitude. It's the basis for Kerry's hearing taqiyya and that garbage Fareed Zakariah article (cover) in Newsweek on how we have to accept Islamic governments and shariah.

Grover Norquist is a conservative activist and the president of Americans for Tax Reform. He is also well-known in Washington D.C. circles as a friend of Islam. Since the 1990s he has held weekly “Wednesday meetings” in which he briefs fellow conservatives and helps plot strategy for the Republican party.

But yesterday it was Mr. Norquist’s turn to be briefed.

A few days ago I wrote about John Kerry’s speech on the Senate floor touting the U.S.-Muslim Engagement Project. Yesterday Mr. Norquist’s group was briefed by Vin Weber, a member of the leadership group of the same U.S.-Muslim Engagement Project.

According to several attendees who were present at Grover Norquist’s Wednesday meeting, the participants — presumably including members of Congress — were offered paperback copies of the “Changing the Course” document (pdf), which outlines the steps needed to help the United States achieve reconciliation with the Muslim world.

Unfortunately for non-Muslims in the United States, this prescription involves more engagement and more appeasement. It calls for yet more dialogue with and respect for Islam, and includes a special emphasis on removing Hamas and Hezbollah from the list of terrorist groups so that they can be recognized as legitimate negotiating partners.

The involvement of Mr. Norquist’s group raises questions about of the extent of Islamist infiltration throughout the conservative NGO groups.

If anyone is curious why this year’s CPAC — which has just folded its tents — didn’t have a single panel on radical Islam or the war on terror, remember that Grover Norquist is on the board of the ACU, which sponsors CPAC.

CPAC conservatives have now fallen into line. They don’t use words like jihad, nor do they associate Islam with terror. They have their ACU marching orders.

What’s more, attendees at Mr. Norquist’s meeting yesterday received the Muslim Brotherhood-approved game plan for the Obama administration.

No, not to critique it.

No, not to oppose it.

To get in line and support it.

What is it, exactly?

As I mentioned above, paperback copies of the how-to manual for American appeasement “Changing the Course” were distributed to attendees, along with a helpful lecture from Vin Weber (Ingrid Mattson, president of ISNA and Weber’s colleague on the US-Muslim Engagement Project, was sadly absent).
 
Mr. Norquist is making sure that conservatives have the “politically correct” position — that is, Obama’s position. The same position held by Ingrid Mattson and the Muslim Brotherhood. Which, coincidentally, is also the position of Senator John Kerry and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, who testified to Kerry’s committee under her US-Muslim engagement project affiliation on February 26.

If we lived in a sane world, revealing all of this to the American public would cause a stir.

But this is not news. It’s a “dog bites man” story.

Still, it’s a damned dangerous dog — and from time to time it still bites.

It directs questions to the institute and also to Alamoudi’s American Muslim Council, which has staffed much of the institute

No doubt Grover Norquist and his Wednesday meetings will continue, and Washington Republicans will become even more well-informed about the benefits — both spiritual and financial — that Islam brings to the United States and its elected representatives.

Look Who's Buying IndyMac Larrey Johnson, American Thinker

The FDIC has just announced that a consortium of private equity and hedge fund firms would be buying IndyMac. IndyMac was an independent "bridge bank" spun off of Countrywide Mortgage in the late 90s.  IndyMac acted as a "bridge bank" to Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

New York Democrat Charles [dump the upChuck!]  Shumer precipitated the fall of IndyMac in May of 2008 by releasing "inside" information that the mortgage company was in dire financial straits. This disclosure created the initial "bank run" that is credited by many economists as the initial trigger that prompted the current mortgage crisis. The FDIC took over the operations of IndyMac in late summer of 2008.

So much for history. George Soros is in on the deal to buy IndyMac from the FDIC. Soros has a long history of making loads of money by first creating a financial crisis and then stepping in to grab up the bargains. Perhaps the most famous example of this tactic is "Black Wednesday," when Soros nearly sunk the entire economy of Great Britain through currency speculation.

George Soros has helped bankroll the campaigns of the Democrats in Congress who created this mess. Now, it appears, he is cashing in on his investment.

Obama/Gore/Soros/UN un Fairness Doctrine.......

Soros: Definitely. I think this is a great opportunity to finally deal with global warming and energy dependence. The US needs a cap and trade system with auctioning of licenses for emissions rights. I would use the revenues from these auctions to launch a new, environmentally friendly energy policy. That would be yet another federal program that could help us to overcome the current stagnation.

SPIEGEL: Your proposal would be dismissed on Wall Street as "big government." Republicans might call it European-style "socialism."
Soros: That is exactly what we need now. I am against market fundamentalism. I think this propaganda that government involvement is always bad has been very successful -- but also very harmful to our society.
SPIEGEL: Would you advise the new president to say that publicly?
Soros: He has already spoken about changing the political discourse. I think it is better to have a government that wants to provide good government than a government that doesn't believe in government.

Hedge-fund billionaire and left-wing political activist George Soros has become one of the Democratic Party's most important players. Now that Barack Obama is in the White House, his influence is due to expand even further as the web of activist groups he funds becomes the new brain-trust of the incoming administration.

Mr. Soros has been a friend to Barack Obama since Mr. Obama first ran for Senate in Illinois in 2004. Because of a special provision of the campaign finance law that allows greater contributions to candidates who are running against millionaires, Mr. Soros was able to donate $60,000 to Mr. Obama's campaign against primary opponent Blair Hull and then against Republican Jack Ryan. Four members of the Soros family also donated to Mr. Obama's Senate campaign, making Mr. Obama one of only a handful of candidates -- including Hillary Clinton, Tom Daschle and Barbara Boxer -- to receive the richest Soros nod.

Mr. Soros's influence on Democratic policy has been years in the making, through groups like the Center for American Progress, which he helped underwrite back in 2003 (along with film producer Stephen Bing) to the tune of several million dollars. CAP is currently headed by former Clinton Chief of Staff John Podesta, now Mr. Obama's transition team leader. With 180 staffers and a $27 million budget, the group is expected to play a role in the Obama administration similar to that played by the American Enterprise Institute during the Bush years, as a feeder for staff and a pusher of liberal ideas.

The problem for Mr. Obama, of course, is that not all Mr. Soros's ideas fly as well with voters as with the New York and D.C. cognoscenti. The Soros connection already created trouble for Mr. Obama last year over the billionaire's comment that Democrats should "liberate" themselves from the influence of the pro-Israeli lobby. Mr. Soros also is a prominent advocate of drug legalization. So while the hedge-fund legend may pour money and staffers into the Obama administration, Warren Buffett is likely to remain the billionaire Mr. Obama still prefers to share photo-ops with.
