"Suzanne", a female caller to Mark Levin's show on June 25th, revealed the ominous secret of the Democrat health care reform effort.

    I want to tell you that last week I attended a conference on health care reform sponsored by La Raza. And I will tell you that what they had to say, Mark, is scarier than anything that's been said so far on the health care plan.

    The kind of comments that were made and the notes that I took... they started the conference out by saying "America does not need health care reform, but Latino immigrants need health care reform."

    And someone from Menendez' office [Ed.: Sen. Robert Menendez, D-NJ] promised that he would make sure that "the useless barriers of citizenship would not be in this bill" and that he would make sure that they would use keywords like "streamline"...

    It was La Raza, the Childrens Defense Fund and Senator Menendez from New Jersey, a representative from his office...

    ...Yes [they said they would get free health care for illegal aliens], these are my notes, Mark. They actually got up and said "Latino children need health care more than whites". And then they would say things like "you must go out into your communities, use words like 'streamline', use phrases like 'all workers' and 'all families'," because they said -- and I quote -- "If the American people find out that this bill is about giving health care to non-citizens, they will rise up against it."

ABC has made the unprecedented move of giving prime-time programing air time to President Barack Obama for a health care reform special to be aired next week. Perhaps it is not too surprising that Obama has landed himself some prime viewing time on ABC. After all, former ABC News correspondent Linda Douglass is now the Director of Communications for the Obama White House Office of Health Reform. Coincidence? One would be excused to suspect it.

Worse yet,

ABC’s biased “Prescription for America” will be giving Obama a free platform to promote his health care reform plan. However, no opposing viewpoints will be presented, as the station is not featuring any Republicans on the program to balance the president’s proposals. ABC’s Charlie Gibson and Diane Sawyer are to ‘moderate’ the nationally televised infomercial. In an interesting ‘coincidence’, former ABC News correspondent Linda Douglass is now the Director of Communications for the Obama White House Office of Health Reform. The mainstream media is working hard for the Democrats America.

Even more disturbing is that ABC will not allow any advertisements that offer a differing point of view. Rick Scott, chairman of Conservatives for Patients Rights, submitted an ad to ABC that offers a free-market alternative to President Obama’s $1 trillion plus health care reform plan, but the ad was rejected. A spokesperson for ABC said the ad was rejected because the network does not accept “advocacy advertising.” This is absurd, as ABC is itself advocating state-run health care.

In Friday’s (6/30/3009) Wall Street Journal, a former lieutenant governor of New York state, Betsy McCaughey, notes that even if you like your current health plan, you won’t be able to keep it, unless you are a federal employee or member of Congress. She points to the exemptions in section 3116. Here’s an excerpt:

Last September Sen. Barack Obama promised that under his health-care proposal “you’ll be able to get the same kind of coverage that members of Congress give themselves.” On Monday, President Obama repeated that promise in a speech to the American Medical Association. It’s not true.

The president is barnstorming the nation, urging swift approval of legislation that is taking shape in Congress. This legislation — the Affordable Health Choices Act that’s being drafted by Sen. Edward Kennedy’s staff and the Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee — will push Americans into stingy insurance plans with tight, HMO-style controls. It specifically exempts members of Congress (along with federal employees; the exemptions are in section 3116).

Members of Congress “enjoy the widest selection of health plans in the country,” according to the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. They “can choose from among consumer-driven and high deductible plans that offer catastrophic risk protection with higher deductibles, health saving/reimbursable accounts and lower premiums, or fee-for-service (FFS) plans, and their preferred provider organizations (PPO), or health maintenance organizations (HMO).” These choices would be nice for all of us, but they’re not in the offing. Instead, if you don’t enroll in a “qualified” health plan and submit proof of enrollment to the federal government, you’ll be tracked down and fined (sections 3101 and 6055).

For a health plan to count as “qualified,” it has to meet all the restrictions listed in the legislation and whatever criteria the Secretary of Health and Human Services imposes after the bill becomes law. You may think you’re in a “qualified” plan, but the language suggests that only plans with managed-care controls such as the “medical home” will meet the definition (sections 3101 and 2707).

“Medical home” is this decade’s version of HMO-style insurance, according to the Congressional Budget Office, with a primary-care provider to manage your access to costly services such as visits to specialists and diagnostic tests. Medical home providers in “qualified” plans, states the Kennedy bill, will have a “payment structure” based on “incentives” rather than payments for each doctor visit or procedure (section 3101).

These requirements are reminiscent of the unpopular controls HMOs imposed two decades ago that caused public outrage and led to state laws reining in abuses. In December 2008, a Congressional Budget Office report evaluating early drafts of major federal health insurance proposals noted that “medical homes” were likely to resemble the HMO gatekeepers of 20 years ago if cost control is a priority.

In a nutshell we all lose our plans unless we are federal employees or members of Congress, so it must really be bad. In fixing healthcare, are the only answers bad?

Michelle Obama boarded Air Force One this morning wearing a white Thakoon coat and a black Michael Kors dress, and stepped off, a few hours later in London, dressed in a vivid yellow Jason Wu. She looked great in both time zones but the Thakoon coat, with black trim, was only seen between the White House lawn and the plane. And then she changed. I wonder if the twilight hour in London had something to do with the choice of color. A reference to the Inaugural lemongrass yellow? From prim white to rock star Michelle?

Wu, who designed her inaugural gown, did Mrs. Obama proud. The chartreuse, short-sleeved number is perfectly complimented by a studded Alaïa belt (which the President has a thought or two on).

We wait with bated breath to see future looks (and diplomacy!) from their trek.

Love shoots hoops with him on the basketball court and watches sports with him on the television at night in his hotel suite.  Perverse.

While America's economy is flash flushed by the transformational socialist in chief, no expense was spared for this megalomaniac. Can you imagine if a Republican president? ......Fuggedabouddit.

Britain will get its first chance to see Barack Obama this week when a White House cavalcade - complete with armoured limousines, helicopters, 200 US secret service staff and a six-doctor medical team - sweeps into the UK.

More than 500 officials and staff will accompany the president on his tour this week - along with a mass of high-tech security equipment, including the $300,000 presidential limousine, known as The Beast. Fitted with night-vision camera, reinforced steel plating, tear- gas cannon and oxygen tanks, the vehicle is the ultimate in heavy armoured transport.

In addition, a team from the White House kitchen will travel with the president to prepare his food. As one official put it: "When the president travels, the White House travels with him, right down to the car he drives, the water he drinks, the gasoline he uses, the food he eats.

It also offers a brief break from dealing with domestic woes, where Obama's popularity has been slipping slightly in the face of the scandal over AIG bonuses and political splits over his huge proposed budget. Holding high-powered meetings with world leaders will allow Obama to remind Americans how much the rest of the world still admires him. It will also be good for the leaders who meet him as they play to domestic audiences. "Personally, I think every one of those leaders wants to sit down and get a photo opportunity with Obama," said Dan Mitchell, a senior fellow at the Cato Institute. "The mere fact that he is the new president has still got something special about it abroad."

The entourage

Apart from the 200 secret service personnel who will follow Obama on his European tour, the president's entourage will also include representatives of the White House Military Office, the White House Transportation Agency, the White House Medical Unit, the Marine Corps Helicopter Squadron, the State Department Presidential Travel Support Service, the US Information Agency, the Immigration and Naturalisation Service and the Customs Service.

In addition, there will be staff from the White House kitchen ready to turn out a quick burger should the president suddenly feel peckish.

Michelle Obama will have eight of her own staff, including a secretary, a press officer and bodyguards. And Obama's personal aide Reggie Love - called by the president "the kid brother I never had" - will be at hand to provide pens, Nicorette gum, throat lozenges, tea or even aspirins.

The Beast

With its armour-plated body and doors, a raised roof, and reinforced steel and aluminium, The Beast will be Obama's official car. It boasts a titanium and ceramic superstructure and a sealed interior forming a "panic room" capable of shielding him from even a chemical weapons attack. Equipped with a night-vision camera and an armoured petrol tank filled with foam to prevent explosion should it suffer a direct hit, it also has pump-action shotguns, tear-gas cannon, oxygen tanks and bottles of the president's blood. Its tyres allow it to keep driving even if they have been punctured.

On Saturday, March 28, 2009, my family and I went to the Wal-Mart in Long Beach California. In front of the store, a man handed me one of these cards:

To be honest, I actually glanced at the one he handed me, ripped it into tiny pieces, threw it back at him and loudly said "over my dead body, Pal!"

I know that conservative Tea Parties are being planned nation-wide on April 15th and other dates. I myself plan to participate.

I feel strongly that what we are currently witnessing in America is no less than a global, socialist coup d'état by those in the highest offices of our government and most sacred institutions. I can clearly see the dismantling of our Constitution being funded by labor unions, the brianwashing of our youth by radical forces in the hallowed halls of our Universities, and a complicit voice by a negligent, partisan media.

These Tea Parties are mere baby steps in our attempts to preserve the liberties that the current administration seems hell-bent on relegating to their own twisted dust bin of history. But you have to start somewhere.

It occurs to me that the people who printed that attached card also believe that you have to start somewhere. But I shudder to envision the America my children will have to endure if these people have their way. Surely there exists a majority sentiment in the United States that THEY MUST BE STOPPED IN THEIR TRACKS.

So would it not be just as important (if not moreso) for those in our conservative movement to "crash" THEIR parties in addition to holding our own? It seems so bizarre to have to point out in my lifetime that anti-capitalist forces are gaining a foothold in the hearts of the populous. And it MUST fall to us to walk right into the hives if we are to enlighten our neighbors and illuminate the evils of their twisted view of their "perfect" society.

Right now, I'm not seeing or hearing ANYONE pointing out how destructive Socialism has been to the communities that have embraced it FROM THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE HAD TO LIVE WITH IT. Surely there are myriad stories that can be given a real face. Real people who have seen the horrors and enslavement of people in countries where fear is the only motivation to productivity, and all aspirations to excel and achieve are choked by Socialism.

Right now, we seem to be thrusting headlong towards our worst fears. That stupid card, if not counteracted by real facts IS WORKING! Frustrated and angry people are being shown this road as being the best solution to our current economic woes. And in their ignorance, vulnerability and desperation, they are BELIEVING IT!.

For the sake of our nation, let's please show up to this (and any other Socialist) event with our OWN cards, flyers and posters. Those attending must leave KNOWING that their efforts will be in vain. We will NOT yield our liberties to their bondage.

Our collective message will reach Washington when our shameless mainstream media decides our Tea Parties are newsworthy. And so far, I'm not holding my breath.

But a gullible citizen from one city over walking into this campus looking for "hope and change" is more likely to snap to their senses if greeted by a brochure which chronicles the evils of Socialism.

Shame on us for getting to the point where an average guy like me has to beg his brethren to evangelize on the behalf of Democracy and the freedoms our forefathers fought and died to uphold. But I implore you to spread the word of this meeting and show up armed with truth and patriotic fervor.

U.S. bill seeks to rescue faltering newspapers Reuters hat tip Amaros

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - With many U.S. newspapers struggling to survive, a Democratic senator on Tuesday introduced a bill to help them by allowing newspaper companies to restructure as nonprofits with a variety of tax breaks.

"This may not be the optimal choice for some major newspapers or corporate media chains but it should be an option for many newspapers that are struggling to stay afloat," said Senator Benjamin Cardin.

A Cardin spokesman said the bill had yet to attract any co-sponsors, but had sparked plenty of interest within the media, which has seen plunging revenues and many journalist layoffs.

Cardin's Newspaper Revitalization Act would allow newspapers to operate as nonprofits for educational purposes under the U.S. tax code, giving them a similar status to public broadcasting companies.

Under this arrangement, newspapers would still be free to report on all issues, including political campaigns. But they would be prohibited from making political endorsements.

Advertising and subscription revenue would be tax exempt, and contributions to support news coverage or operations could be tax deductible.

The failure of these newspapers long preceded this Democrat created economic crisis. The New York Times is textbook failure.

"We are losing our newspaper industry," Cardin said. "The economy has caused an immediate problem, but the business model for newspapers, based on circulation and advertising revenue, is broken, and that is a real tragedy for communities across the nation and for our democracy.

Newspaper subscriptions and advertising have shrunk dramatically in the past few years as Americans have turned more and more to the Internet or television for information.

In recent months, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, the Rocky Mountain News, the Baltimore Examiner and the San Francisco Chronicle have ceased daily publication or announced that they may have to stop publishing.

At a time when his Washington honeymoon is turning into a hazing, President Barack Obama and his team are launched on a strategy to sail above the traditional White House press corps by reaching out to liberal commentators, local reporters and ethnic media.

The highest-profile moments in the new approach have been well-noted, such as the president giving an interview to progressive radio host Ed Schultz and Obama calling on a reporter from the liberal-leaning Huffington Post at his first news conference.

But those moves are only part of a much larger strategy aimed at communicating directly with audiences the White House believes are more sympathetic to the president’s agenda — and one in which much of the work is being done by Obama’s top advisers.

On the day Obama released his ambitious spending plan, the administration put White House budget director Peter Orszag on a conference call with liberal-leaning writers. Senior administration aides have followed up by promoting the budget to local radio talk shows during morning drive time.

Jared Bernstein, Vice President Joe Biden’s economic adviser and a favorite of the labor-liberal wing of the Democratic Party, also held a conference call with friendly reporters.

White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel has done conference calls with black and Hispanic media outlets.

Obama himself plans to meet soon with liberal bloggers, according to an administration official. With little fanfare, he’s already sat for interviews with Black Enterprise magazine, Telemundo and Los Angeles-based Hispanic radio host Eddie “Piolin” Sotelo.

Obama has a special stake in encouraging this movement. The campaign that vaulted him to power began mostly outside his party’s Washington establishment and was based heavily on the strength of his personality and promises to change the capital’s culture.

At his first news conference, for instance, his aides seated Schultz in the front row and called on reporter Sam Stein from The Huffington Post.

Unlike some of his predecessors, however, Obama and his aides tend not to boast about their media strategy or publicly exalt in how they are confronting or marginalizing the traditional news media.

Of course not, they are creating their own propaganda machine.

“You’ve got lots of people that aren’t cable junkies or news junkies,” White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said, explaining the thinking behind the tailored media strategy. “This gives us the opportunity to reach a little bit different of a segment.”

Another top aide used a sports analogy for the comprehensive strategy: “Flood the zone.”

Dan Bartlett, Bush’s White House communications director, said that he and his counterparts in the Obama administration were simply following the path of their audience.

“The lagging role of the mainstream media has prompted people to seek information from a wide variety of outlets that are often now aligned with their personal interests,” he said.

That can mean hoops fanatics or duck hunters, but it also often now means political partisans.

“The president has to be careful to tend to his base,” said Dee Dee Myers, press secretary in Clinton’s first term. “A lot of what he’s doing, like giving trillions to corporations, is not that popular on the left flank of the Democratic base. So going to places like Ed Schultz or engaging the Huffington Post or MoveOn is a way to say, ‘Look, we get it; we’re talking to a lot of the people who brung us.’”

“It’s like mainlining into a vein — you’re getting the drugs where they need to go,” he said.

Feder is outraged and rightly so at the blatant commie propaganda the Times likes to parade as news. Feder suggests, "Perhaps the principle of tying executive compensation to performance should be applied more broadly. Since Congress got us into this mess — by encouraging mortgage lending to deadbeats — shouldn’t Congressmen take a pay cut?" Why stop at Congress, Feder? Why not tax every lazy, deadbeat government worker 90% for failing to provide even basic good service, let alone exemplary work?

Times Radiates Optimism on Regulation of Executive Pay Don Feder

When it comes to forging new frontiers of statism and savaging the free market, The New York Times has a ho-hum, what’s-the-big-deal attitude.

A story in yesterday’s Times treats the possibility that the Obama administration will tell companies how much they can pay executives as another promising proposal to counter the current financial crisis, instead of as the radical move toward socialism it is.

“The administration has been considering increased oversight of executive pay for some time,” the paper nonchalantly reports. Also: “One proposal could impose greater requirements on company boards to tie executive compensation more closely to corporate performance.”

As the story makes clear, the administration is considering regulating all corporate salaries, and not just those of companies that have accepted bailouts.

If Washington can control executive compensation, why not the pay of workers as well? Perhaps their performance is sub-standard and contributes to corporate malaise. Maybe the feds should also oversee product development and pricing, and marketing campaigns too. Heck, let’s just abolish private ownership and let the geniuses in DC run the whole show — an approach that’s worked well in Cuba, North Korea and the former Soviet Union.

Perhaps the principle of tying executive compensation to performance should be applied more broadly. Since Congress got us into this mess — by encouraging mortgage lending to deadbeats — shouldn’t Congressmen take a pay cut?

The New York Times has been losing money and subscribers for years. This past November, The Times slashed its quarterly dividend to 6 cents, compared to 23 cents for the same quarter in 2007.

Today in Denver, hundreds of citizens gathered on the steps of the Colorado State Capital to let their disagreement with Obama’s economic policies be known.

Last week President Obama stated that ”economists from across the political spectrum agree” on the need for massive government spending to stimulate the economy. In fact, many economists disagree. Hundreds of them, including Nobel laureates and other prominent scholars, signed a statement that the Cato Institute has placed in major newspapers across the United States. 

The grassroots crowd showed up as a result of hearing about it on talk radio and emails from friends. One group that organized the rally is Americans for Prosperity.

The Independence Institute had gigantic checks made out for people to sign, made out for the amount that it has calculated that this so-called stimulus will cost each American family.

It’s appropriate that a number of children signed the checks. This little girl’s generation, and her children, will be paying for the pork this bill provides.

WHAT YOU DON'T KNOW ABOUT THE SOCIALISM BILL: SOCIALIZED MEDICINE

This panel would determine the cost versus the life expectancy of an individual as to whether they receive healthcare or not. Also, that doctors should become less independent?"

SOCIALIZED HEALTHCARE

Tragically, no one from either party is objecting to the health provisions slipped in without discussion. These provisions reflect the handiwork of Tom Daschle, until recently the nominee to head the Health and Human Services Department.

Senators should read these provisions and vote against them because they are dangerous to your health. (Page numbers refer to H.R. 1 EH, pdf version).

The bill’s health rules will affect “every individual in the United States” (445, 454, 479). Your medical treatments will be tracked electronically by a federal system. Having electronic medical records at your fingertips, easily transferred to a hospital, is beneficial. It will help avoid duplicate tests and errors.

But the bill goes further. One new bureaucracy, the National Coordinator of Health Information Technology, will monitor treatments to make sure your doctor is doing what the federal government deems appropriate and cost effective. The goal is to reduce costs and “guide” your doctor’s decisions (442, 446). These provisions in the stimulus bill are virtually identical to what Daschle prescribed in his 2008 book, “Critical: What We Can Do About the Health-Care Crisis.” According to Daschle, doctors have to give up autonomy and “learn to operate less like solo practitioners.”

Keeping doctors informed of the newest medical findings is important, but enforcing uniformity goes too far.

New Penalties

Hospitals and doctors that are not “meaningful users” of the new system will face penalties.  “Meaningful user” isn’t defined in the bill. That will be left to the HHS secretary, who will be empowered to impose “more stringent measures of meaningful use over time” (511, 518, 540-541)

What penalties will deter your doctor from going beyond the electronically delivered protocols when your condition is atypical or you need an experimental treatment? The vagueness is intentional. In his book, Daschle proposed an appointed body with vast powers to make the “tough” decisions elected politicians won’t make.

The stimulus bill does that, and calls it the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research (190-192). The goal, Daschle’s book explained, is to slow the development and use of new medications and technologies because they are driving up costs. He praises Europeans for being more willing to accept “hopeless diagnoses” and “forgo experimental treatments,” and he chastises Americans for expecting too much from the health-care system.

Elderly Hardest Hit

Daschle says health-care reform “will not be pain free.” Seniors should be more accepting of the conditions that come with age instead of treating them. That means the elderly will bear the brunt.

Medicare now pays for treatments deemed safe and effective. The stimulus bill would change that and apply a cost- effectiveness standard set by the Federal Council (464).

The Federal Council is modeled after a U.K. board discussed in Daschle’s book. This board approves or rejects treatments using a formula that divides the cost of the treatment by the number of years the patient is likely to benefit. Treatments for younger patients are more often approved than treatments for diseases that affect the elderly, such as osteoporosis.

In 2006, a U.K. health board decreed that elderly patients with macular degeneration had to wait until they went blind in one eye before they could get a costly new drug to save the other eye. It took almost three years of public protests before the board reversed its decision.

Hidden Provisions

If the Obama administration’s economic stimulus bill passes the Senate in its current form, seniors in the U.S. will face similar rationing. Defenders of the system say that individuals benefit in younger years and sacrifice later.

The stimulus bill will affect every part of health care, from medical and nursing education, to how patients are treated and how much hospitals get paid. The bill allocates more funding for this bureaucracy than for the Army, Navy, Marines, and Air Force combined (90-92, 174-177, 181).

Hiding health legislation in a stimulus bill is intentional. Daschle supported the Clinton administration’s health-care overhaul in 1994, and attributed its failure to debate and delay. A year ago, Daschle wrote that the next president should act quickly before critics mount an opposition. “If that means attaching a health-care plan to the federal budget, so be it,” he said. “The issue is too important to be stalled by Senate protocol.”

More Scrutiny Needed

On Friday, President Obama called it “inexcusable and irresponsible” for senators to delay passing the stimulus bill. In truth, this bill needs more scrutiny.

The health-care industry is the largest employer in the U.S. It produces almost 17 percent of the nation’s gross domestic product.

Tom Daschle is out of the picture, but his greasy fingerprints are all over this one. He stated in his book that the reason that Hillarycare didn't work was because the people found out about it. This time it must be done swiftly and without too much detail. This fits that bill.

Sen. Arlen Specter must feel like one lucky man today. He wasn’t in his Capitol Hill offices when MAF Chairman Melanie Morgan, Gold Star Mom Debbie Lee, Freepers and Free Republic founder Jim Robinson, and other patriotic citizens stormed his office to demand he reverse his position supporting the porkulus bill, aka the Barack-Blowing-Through- Dollars-Scheme.

MAF, as you know, is a protroops organization, and it is our opinion that this legislation will hurt veterans’ healthcare - not to mention every other American.

We’re really in town for our big press conference on Tuesday, when we release our commercial opposing President Obama’s decision to close Gitmo.

But we kept ourselves busy today. Melanie was at her finest, when we arrived at Specter’s office. For those of you who don’t know Specter, he’s a flip-flopping, spineless bureacrat who calls himself a Republican. He’s also one of the traitors who supports Obama’s spendulus bill. This is why he was a target for Monday’s action, spurred by Kirstinn Taylor of Free Republic.

Melanie and Jim Robinson asked to see the Senator. Specter’s front-office staff need to go back to kindergarten to get their manners tuned up. either that or they should go to work at Wal-Mart to pick up some tips from their greeters. A secretary, who wasn’t happy to see American patriots, refused to answer where the Senator was hiding. Jim, wearing his Navy cap, asked over and over about the Senator’s whereabouts, but the secretary wasn’t helping. It was distressing to see a Navy veteran being treated with such disrespect by a Senator’s staff.

Well, the cold-shoulder was too much for Melanie, who decided to take matters into her own hands. She stepped to the closed door leading to Specter’s office and the offices of his staffers, and flung it open. I didn’t take notes on what she said, but it went something like this:

“Come out! We want to talk to somebody right now!!”

"Until the financial crisis began last year, this kind of business bashing and protectionism was largely relegated to the far left, and it seemed axiomatic in the United States that the business of America was business," Freedman writes. "But with an urgency not seen since Ronald Reagan declared that government was in fact the problem, policymakers are now reconsidering the relationship between government and the private sector."

The vampires have been let out of their coffins.

While it's impossible to know just what the day after the crisis will look like, the broad contours of the new economic world are becoming visible. "Now one of the big debates in the U.S. is how to bridge the gap between business and government in a way that avoids stagnation while still satisfying the intense demand for financial and social services. In other words, can America adopt a more European model, only with a faster rate of growth?"

Bob Beckel on Obama's Socialist Pick Browner: "What's wrong with Socialism?"

Apparently Obama's socialist/commie leanings are coming home to roost. His pick for global warming czar is a socialist. Big time. The Washington Times has this:

Until last week, Carol M. Browner, President-elect Barack Obama's pick as global warming czar, was listed as one of 14 leaders of a socialist group's Commission for a Sustainable World Society, which calls for "global governance" and says rich countries must shrink their economies to address climate change.

By Thursday, Mrs. Browner's name and biography had been removed from Socialist International's Web page, though a photo of her speaking June 30 to the group's congress in Greece was still available.

Socialist International, an umbrella group for many of the world's social democratic political parties such as Britain's Labor Party, says it supports socialism and is harshly critical of U.S. policies.

Yup. Obama's pick is a  dyed in the wool, tin-foil-hat-wearing-one-socialist-world-government to combat (non-existent) global warming and destroy American hegemony. And downer Browner doesn't need Senate confirmation. This is what I find so telling. Expect Obama to do a lot of this -- anyone that does not have to go through Senate or committee approval will truly reflect Obama's ideology.

Soros and company (his fingerprints are all over this) have sent their parrots out to sell the socialist idea to the unsuspecting American people. Bob Beckel was defending Browner on Fox. His argument? "What's wrong with socialism?" And Beckel pointed to the Republicans as the architects of the new socialism with the recent bail-out. Beckel fails to mention that the Republicans were bailing out the socialist Democrats pillaging of our nations coffers. Need not greed was to blame in the financial meltdown.

It is pretty clear that the left is confident that they have sufficiently dumbed down a generation of Americans after their takeover of the public education system. How far and fast it has fallen.  Just how ignorant are our kids coming out of leftwing indoctrinated public schools?

Twenty years ago, could you ever get away with the statement, what's wrong with socialism? It shows a complete lack of understanding of the brutality of that failed system and more importantly, a callous disregard for who, what and why America is.

Tyson and Reich join a group of big thinkers chosen by Obama from finance, business and academia. That group includes former Federal Reserve Chair Paul Volcker, former treasury secretary and former Harvard University president Lawrence Summers, Google's chief executive Eric Schmidt, billionaire Warren Buffett, and others.

And listen the reporter having dinner with Rahm sound so incredulous to this planned Police State, and Rahm try to so oily pass it off as if it were a benign occurence, despite it’s obvious Orwellian enormity. Just listen as the reporter feels the inherent evil at his marrow, and how he almost can’t believe what he is hearing, but trying to remain cool and not insult Emanuel by calling him an obvious Nazi.

Obama campaign workers angry over unpaid wages  (hat tip Cathy)

Indianapolis - Lines were long and tempers flared Wednesday not to vote but to get paid for canvassing for Barack Obama. Several hundred people are still waiting to get their pay for last-minute campaigning. Police were called to the Obama campaign office on North Meridian Street downtown to control the crowd.

An updated WTHR report said they were paying the workers $10 an hour and that prepaid credit cards were being used to pay some of the temporary workers. Not sure that this practice would comport to IRS rules. Either these people are independent contractors who should get 1099s or employees for whom taxes should be deducted.
The prepaid credit cards caught my attention since Pamela's research has shown that prepaid credit cards were being used to make phony donations to Obama's campaign.
I have this wild theory that at least half of Obama's money came from George Soros. This would explain the machinations his campaign went through to leave so many loopholes in his online campaign finance system. Prior to Obama, nobody could raise money in the Democratic Party like the Clintons, and they always pushed the envelope with campaign finance laws, if they didn't outright cross it on occasion. Nobody will ever convince me that he innocently raised that much money.

It defies common sense and every campaign operative in this country knows it. It's quite curious that on election day Alex Giannoulias, the Illinois State Treasurer tied to organized crime (Ill. State Democratic Chairman Mike Madigan wouldn't support him when he ran for that very reason), played basketball with Obama on election day. About a week ago, the Sun-Times reported that Alex was seen leaving the White House.

Senator Barack Obama is committed for America to be an “egalitarian society.” What? Obama hasn’t told Americans about that commitment on the campaign trail to the White House but it’s true. And this time Obama cannot attack Joe the plumber for exposing his socialist plans for America.

You see, Obama proclaimed his commitment to being an egalitarian society; which in some circles is described as the holy grail of socialism--last year on the U.S. Senate floor when he introduced the Citizenship Promotion Act, S. 795.

Here’s what Obama told his Senate colleagues on March 7, 2007: “Let’s stop sending mixed messages.

Let’s work together and set immigration fees at a level that are fair and consistent with our commitment to being an open, democratic, and egalitarian society.” (italics mine)

Obama’s “egalitarian society” commitment is a clear statement that defines his intentions for “change” if he is elected President of the United States.

He speaks of the "tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change."

He said that it's a tragedy that the constitution wasn't radically reinterpreted to force redistribution of the wealth.

"I am not optimistic about bringing about redistributive change through the courts. The institution just isn't structured that way."

So he doesn't think it can be done through the courts but he thinks it can be done legislatively. That is why a Liberal Supermajority is crucial.

"Although you can craft theoretical justifications for it legally, any three of us sitting here can come up with a rational for bringing about economic change through the courts ......"

This is not a discussion about whether redistribution of the wealth is right or wrong, this is a conversation about how to achieve that goal. And this is back in 2001. This who and what this man is. The Marxist messiah.

If you look at the victories and failures of the civil rights movement and its litigation strategy in the court, I think where it succeeded was to vest formal rights in previously dispossessed peoples. So that I would now have the right to vote, I would now be able to sit at the lunch counter and order and as long as I could pay for it I’d be okay.

But the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth and sort of more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society.

And to that extent as radical as people tried to characterize the Warren court, it wasn’t that radical. It didn’t break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the founding fathers in the Constitution, at least as it’s been interpreted, and the Warren court interpreted it in the same way that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties.

It says what the states can’t do to you, it says what the federal government can’t do to you, but it doesn’t say what the federal government or the state government must do on your behalf. And that hasn’t shifted. One of the I think tragedies of the civil rights movement was because the civil rights movement became so court focused, I think that there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributed change and in some ways we still suffer from that.

I happen to know the person who found this audio. It is an individual person, with no more resources than a desire to know everything that he or she can about who might be the next president of the United States and the most powerful man in the world.

I know that this person does not have teams of highly paid professionals, does not work out of a corner office in a skyscraper in New York, does not have access to all of the subtle and hidden conduits of information … who possesses no network television stations, owns no satellite time, does not receive billions in advertising dollars, and has a staff of exactly one.

I do not blame Barack Obama for believing in wealth distribution. That’s his right as an American. I do blame him for lying about what he believes. But his entire life has been applying for the next job at the expense of the current one. He’s at the end of the line now.

I do, however, blame the press for allowing an individual citizen to do the work that they employ standing armies of so-called professionals for. I know they are capable of this kind of investigative journalism: It only took them a day or two to damage Sarah Palin with wild accusations about her baby’s paternity and less time than that to destroy a man who happened to be playing ball when the Messiah decided to roll up looking for a few more votes on the way to the inevitable coronation.

We no longer have an independent, fair, investigative press. That is abundantly clear to everyone — even the press. It is just another of the facts that they refuse to report, because it does not suit them.

Remember this, America: The press did not break this story. A single citizen, on the Internet did.

Neil Abercrombie, an Obama propagandist, has an interesting background. Back in February 2006, Rep. Abercrombie was the LONE  vote against legislation to suspend aid to Hamas.

In a Time magazine interview of Neil Abercrombie, representative from Hawaii, claims to have been friends with Obama's father in college.

Abercrombie stated the wedding was on Maui and few attended (less than 6 or 7) in fact he may have not even said anything other than few attended.  She was 3 months pregnant at the time and Neil was part of the group that hung together with BHO Sr and Ann at the Univ of Hi.

By college, Stanley had started introducing herself as Ann. She met Barack Obama Sr. in a Russian-language class.

Why was Obama's mama taking Russian language classes in 1960 - the height of communist antagonism. She despised America even  then.

Obama's father quickly drew a crowd of friends at the university. "We would drink beer, eat pizza and play records," [a lapsed Musim] Abercrombie says. They talked about Vietnam and politics. "Everyone had an opinion about everything, and everyone was of the opinion that everyone wanted to hear their opinion—no one more so than Barack.

On Feb. 2, 1961, several months after they met, Abercrombie claimed that Obama's parents got married in Maui, according to divorce records.[no marriage record - just divorce records - huh?]

It was a Thursday. At that point, Ann was three months pregnant with Barack Obama II. Friends did not learn of the wedding until afterward.

"Nobody was invited," says Abercrombie. The motivations behind the marriage remain a mystery, even to Obama. "I never probed my mother about the details. Did they decide to get married because she was already pregnant? Or did he propose to her in the traditional, formal way?" Obama wonders. "I suppose, had she not passed away, I would have asked more."

Yeah right, the man never went to her death bed.And what do we know? We know no one was at the wedding, no one witness the wedding, no one can say it happened. How many weddings can you say that about? Not a photo in sight.

Now let's extrapolate for a moment - shall we? The following is thin sourced speculation gathered from around the web to try to collect it into one place (props to anon)

Now remember Ann had just graduated from High School and they moved to Hawaii in 1960 and then she got pregnant in possibly her first semester in college, depending on the time of the year of the move.

Now, we know what an extreme leftist, hard leftist, Obama's mother was. Remember the radical left image people had of her from high school and believe me, for the Seattle area to be called lefty you have to be real far left of center. So an abortion would most certainly have been in the offing. But she wanted this baby.

Back in Kansas before she was even born, her parents knew Frank Davis who lived only 30 miles away.They hung out together. They were friends.

Davis and the Durhams split  later and did not connect again till Hawaii.

If Davis was in the Seattle area for a stay related to his ILWU connections due to the port there and possibly doing some organizing work or reporting on it for the Honolulu Record then he could have hooked up with Ann along with his wife 19 years younger than him.

Now some suggest but nobody has been able to find proof that Davis allegedly visited the Seattle area as part of his connections to the ILWU and the Honolulu Record connection and that Ann may be the 13 year old ANNE in his adult book that had sex with him and his wife...she would have been a thirteen year old freshman at Mercer Island High School at the time and perhaps her parents let her visit with old friends of the family.

That is the trail some say and I don't know but am open to proof one way or the other.

But if Davis and wife seduced her at thirteen  then she may have gotten pregnant by him in Hawaii and since he was married to a wife nineteen years his junior and started his family having kids when he was 44,  he may have taken up with her the second time in Hawaii.

Barack Hussein Obama Senior could have known Frank Marshall via Stanley Ann and agreed to do the marriage as a cover, which is why it was so easy for him to leave her and the baby behind when he went to Harvard since he had no real 'linkage' to the baby.

The birth certificate would put a lot of this speculation to bed.

Ayers leaned more toward the Marx/Trotsky end of the spectrum. The two connections to the Maoist side were Carl Davidson who ran the Small School Workshops that that Ayers/Obama funneled so much funds to from CAC. The other link is Koji Ariyoshi the owner of the Honolulu Recorder that Frank Davis wrote for when he lived in Hawaii. It was a CPUSA linked paper tied in to the ILWU back in the 50s. Ariyoshi was a Japanese who went to work for the USA as an interpreter in WWII and served in SE Asia and Burma. He had frequent contact with Mao and others in the process of his work in that area. He was one of the Hawaii Seven hauled in by the House Un American Activities Committee and convicted until the SCOTUS reinterpreted the laws he was convicted under, the Smith Act.

A newspaper story on the day he left, June 22, said Obama planned a several-weeks grand tour of Mainland universities before he arrived at Harvard to study economics on a graduate faculty fellowship. The story did not mention that he had a wife and an infant son.

Many years later, Barack Jr., then in high school, found a clipping of the article in a family stash of birth certificates and old vaccination forms. Why wasn't his name there, or his mother's?

OBAMA PLANS TO KILL 401K TAX BREAKS

In a possible preview of economic policy under an Obama Administration, powerful House Democrats are looking at eliminating most of the $80 billion in annual tax breaks for 401(k) investors.  Workforce Management reports that Rep. Jim McDermott, D-Washington, Chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee's Subcommittee on Income Security and Family Support, and House Education and Labor Committee Chairman George Miller, D-California, are studying how to alter the nation's $3 trillion 401(k) system, to eliminate investor tax breaks and force workers' money into obligatory retirement accounts.

Blogger Ed Morrissey notes "that means your employer can no longer write off their contributions to your 401(k), and your capital gains would be taxable year to year.  In other words, it becomes just another investment or savings account, with no tax benefit at all, and no employer contribution."

This huge disruption of Americans' retirement plans may be only one element of an Obama Administration's tax hike on workers. The Wall Street Journal notes that "the prospect of these tax increases is now hanging over the economy like a pall, as investors and businesses wonder where and how heavily an Obama Administration and Congress would strike."

Argentine President Cristina Kirchner announced this week that her government intends to nationalize the country's private pension system. If Congress approves this property grab, $30 billion in individually held retirement accounts -- think 401(k)s -- managed by private pension funds will become government property.

That the state could seize retirement savings no doubt seems outrageous to Americans. But it is a predictable development in a country where government intervention in the financial system is the norm. With Washington now expanding its role as guarantor in American banking, that's something to think about.

Mrs. Kirchner won't have trouble making the case for expropriation to Congress, which is controlled by her fellow Peronists. When the Argentine government ran out of money in 2001, it blamed the market and increased its own role in the economy. Since then it has imposed price controls, defaulted on its debt, seized dollar bank accounts, devalued the currency, nationalized businesses and tried to set confiscatory tax rates with the aim of making society more "fair." Mrs. Kirchner and her predecessor (and husband) Nestór Kirchner have also preserved the Peronist tradition of big spending.

All of this has been deemed acceptable because of the "crisis." But it has come at a cost: Among emerging market investors Argentina is now considered one of the worst places on the planet to put your money.

Join us as Obama's youngest supporters rally their families and call for change, for a better America. At 2 pm, rain or shine, children and teens will express with words and drawings their hopes for the future of America on "wish flags" that will be mailed to Obama. The first 300 kids will be given a helium balloon, an expression of solidarity. OBAMA,"NEW PARTY MEMBER" AND DEMOCRAT SOCIALIST ASSOCIATION

The New Party, ACORN, and the Arab American Action Network are not by any stretch of the imagination mainstream political or social organizations. They are radical anti-capitalist, pro-Marxist, and in the case of the AAAN a group supporting the terrorist activities of the Palestinians. The New Party is an unabashed Marxist "fusion" party from which Barack Obama actively sought out and received an endorsement for his state senate candidacy. ^[1]

Four political candidates were "there" seeking NP support. Barack Obama won the 1996 election, by using legal technicalities to get all his opponents disqualified-but he still used New Party volunteers in his campaign. ^[2]

Obama sought the New Party endorsement, which required him to sign a contract that he would keep up his relationship with the New Party. ^[1]

There's a lot of buzz being generated about Obama, ACORN and Obama's first political party - The New Party. How did the Oba-messiah get this far without anyone reporting he was a member of a fringe Leftist political party? Where the hell is the media anyway? Oh, I know. It was just Chicago so he could get on the ballot, yadda yadda. ^[3] I followed the links back, and can find nothing but assertions without documentation. Surely a Lexis/Nexis search would produce something contemporaneous from the Chicago media? I would imagine the New Party would have rated coverage on its own, and so would news of Obama being endorsed by them. ^[4]

A short-term strategy of working with the Democratic Party and in the long-term work with the New Party. Barack Obama clearly saw the potential of the New Party, because he was soon seeking their support. ^[2] I don't understand what the big deal is about. Barack Obama was a member of an extremist political party established by the Democratic Socialists for America, the Chicago New Party, and they cheered his victory in his uncontested run for his Illinois state senate seat as a step away from American values, towards socialism. ^[5] The New Party: The New Party is an unabashed Marxist "fusion" party from which Barack Obama actively sought out and received an endorsement for his state senate candidacy (in 1996). He did. ^[1] The party was a Marxist Political coalition. This was not a guilt by association thing. Senator Obama sought out their nomination. He was successful in obtaining that endorsement, and he used a number of New Party volunteers as campaign workers. ^[6] After allegations surfaced in early summer over the 'New Party's' endorsement of Obama, the Obama campaign along with the remnants of the New Party and Democratic Socialists of America claimed that Obama was never a member of either organization. ^[7] (hat tip Slimguy)

Obama's socialist backing goes back at least to 1996, when he received the endorsement of the Chicago branch of the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) for an Illinois state senate seat.  Later, the Chicago DSA newsletter reported that Obama, as a state senator, showed up to eulogize Saul Mendelson, one of the "champions" of "Chicago's democratic left" and a long-time socialist activist. Obama's stint as a "community organizer" in Chicago has gotten some attention, but his relationship with the DSA socialists, who groomed and backed him, has been generally ignored.   

Blogger Steve Bartin, who has been following Obama's career and involvement with the Chicago socialists, has uncovered a fascinating video showing Obama campaigning for openly socialist Senator Bernie Sanders of Vermont. Interestingly, Sanders, who won his seat in 2006, called Obama "one of the great leaders of the United States Senate," even though Obama had only been in the body for about two years. In 2007, the National Journal said that Obama had established himself as "the most liberal Senator." More liberal than Sanders? That is quite a feat. Does this make Obama a socialist, too? 

DSA describes itself as the largest socialist organization in the United States and the principal U.S. affiliate of the Socialist International. The Socialist International (SI) has what is called "consultative status" with the United Nations. In other words, it works hand-in-glove with the world body. 

The international connection is important and significant because an Obama bill, "The Global Poverty Act," has just been rushed through the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, with the assistance of Democratic Senator Joe Biden, the chairman, and Republican Senator Richard Lugar. The legislation (S.2433) commits the U.S. to spending hundreds of billions of dollars more in foreign aid on the rest of the world, in order to comply with the "Millennium Goals" established by the United Nations. Conservative members of the committee were largely caught off-guard by the move to pass the Obama bill but are putting a  "hold" on it, in order to try to prevent the legislation, which also quickly passed the House, from being quickly brought up for a full Senate vote. But observers think that Senate Democrats may try to pass it quickly anyway, in order to give Obama a precious legislative "victory" that he could run on. 

Obama has his own controversial socialist connections. He is, in fact, an associate of a Chicago-based Marxist group with access to millions of labor union dollars and connections to expert political consultants, including a convicted swindler.

UPDATE: Slimguy points out, "Wikipedia has a newer listing for the now named Congressional Progressive Caucus and there are 73 active members listed. Note also some members have been removed for reasons noted in the article. For example Nancy Pelosi resigned from the Caucus when she became Speaker of the House. Now if you follow these things like a cockroach trail as some of us do you would for example see that during the recent debates over the bailout bill in the House of Representatives , on the Dem side of the debate over 90% of those who made remarks in the House chamber during the debate on the bill on the second time through the House (controlled by Barney Frank as to who got to talk) were members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

The more we know about this plant, the scarier the prospect of an Obama presidency is. How does a man, from virtually out of nowhere, with a really sketchy youth, a drug addled past, nefarious allegiances, alliances and support come to be one step away from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue? Unfathomable.

Worse is the media's absolute silence on the man's dark past (and present). It is incredible. The media and Obama operatives have descended upon Alaska and have tried to make hay out of the firing of an insubordinate, old boy political hack, a much derserved firing (one that ought to be heralded not investigated).The latest on that media ruse?

An internal state trooper investigation found that Wooten had threatened that Palin's father would "eat a f---ing bullet." Palin had raised concerns to Monegan about the fact that Wooten was still carrying a gun and working for the state, but Palin's legal counsel contends that the decision to sack Monegan was not related to Wooten.Rather, Palin's lawyer writes, the decision was "based on [Monegan's] refusal to execute her Administration's policy on fiscal and budget matters, a refusal that between late 2007 and the middle of 2008 blossomed into outright insubordination." Another group associated with the SI is the Party of European Socialists (PES), which heard from Howard Dean...  Democrats, Dean said, want to be "good citizens of the world community."

April 2007, PES President Poul Nyrup Rasmussen reported that European socialists held a meeting "in the Democrats HQ in Washington," met with officials of the party and Democratic members of Congress, and agreed that "PES activist groups" in various U.S. cities would start working together.

The Brookings Institution is headed by former Clinton State Department official Strobe Talbott, a proponent of world government who was recently identified in the book Comrade J as having been a pawn of the Russian intelligence service.

The socialist connections of Obama and the Democratic Party have certainly not been featured in the Washington Post columns of Harold Meyerson, who happens not only to be a member but a vice-chair of the DSA.

George Soros and Chicago Democrat, Rep. Jan Schakowsky, have both endorsed Obama.

It is not surprising that the Chicago Democrat, Rep. Jan Schakowsky, has endorsed Obama. Schakowsky, who endorsed Howard Dean for president in 2004, was honored in 2000 at a dinner sponsored by the Chicago chapter of the DSA. Her husband, Robert Creamer, emerged from federal prison in November 2006 after serving five months for financial crimes. He pleaded guilty to ripping off financial institutions while running a non-profit group.  Before he was convicted but under indictment, Creamer was hired by the Soros-funded Open Society Policy Center to sabotage John Bolton's nomination as Ambassador to the U.N. 

After his release from prison, Creamer released a book, Listen to Your Mother: Stand up Straight: How Progressives Can Win, described by one blogger as the book that was "penned in the pen." A blurb for the book declares, "Some people think that in order to win, Democrats need to move to the political center by adopting conservative values and splitting the difference between progressive and conservative positions. History shows they are wrong. To win the next election and to win in the long term, we need to redefine the political center."
