An elementary school teacher in Chesapeake, Va. has been charged with simple assault after a parent claimed her daughter’s hand was cut open as a result of the teacher yanking her arm aggressively while trying to teach students an “Islamic hand sign.”

Officer Leo Kosinski, a spokesman for the Chesapeake Police Department, told TheBlaze that Tara Harris was criminally charged with a misdemeanor on Oct. 11 and released on a summons. The case is currently under investigation.

“It’s still a criminal charge. It happened at the school and it involved a student,” Kosinski said. The police department could not release any additional information.


Stephanie Bennett, the mother of the 10-year-old girl who was allegedly assaulted at Butts Road Intermediate School, told TheBlaze in an emotional phone interview that Harris has a disturbing trend of “indoctrinating” students with Islamic teachings. She also said the teacher openly campaigns for President Barack Obama in the classroom.

The incident of alleged assault occurred on October 2, according to Bennett.

“The teacher was going over Islamic hand signs with the children — she stayed on this issue for two days straight during their reading and math class,” she said.

Bennett’s daughter suffers from a processing disorder, making it difficult for her to quickly grasp things like hand signs. “Not that she’s uneducated or anything. It’s just a processing problem,” the mother said.

When Bennett’s daughter was unable to do the Islamic hand sign correctly after two days of instruction, Harris became frustrated and attempted to twist the girl’s fingers to make the Islamic gesture meaning “power and strength.” The way Bennett described it, it sounds like an upside A-OK hand gesture. It is unclear exactly which “Islamic hand sign” was being promoted as the source information comes from children.

Workplace jihad: Muslima sues Disney over hijab

A Muslim woman who worked as a hostess at a Disneyland restaurant is suing Disney. Imane Boudlal wears the traditional headscarf, or hijab, but the garment violates Disney's dress code. Disney offered up a compromise hat for her to wear, but Boudlal refused, of course. It's not about hijab; otherwise that cute cowboy hat would be fine (everyone on the floor at Disney wears costumes). It's about imposing Islam on the secular marketplace.

Notice how Islamic supremacists always target and sue American icons -- Disney, Wal-mart, Target, Heinz, Hertz, et al.

And in all these cases, the company bends over backwards to accommodate these supremacist demands. But that's always taken as a sign of weakness, and accommodation gives way to more demands.

..."The Constitution tells me I can be Muslim, and I can wear the head scarf. Who is Disney to tell me I cannot?"...

Then don't work at Disney. It's just that sinple.

LOS ANGELES (KTLA) -- A Muslim woman who worked as a hostess at a Disneyland restaurant is suing Disney, claiming the company wouldn't let her appear in front of guests while wearing her headscarf.

It's a dispute that's been going on for about two years, but now the American Civil Liberties Union is getting involved.

It all started in August 2010 when Imane Boudlal, a Morocco-born U.S. citizen, worked at the Storyteller Cafe in Disney's Grand California Hotel.

Boudlal wears the traditional headscarf, or hijab, but Disney said the garment didn't comply with its strict dress code.

Disney offered up a compromise hat for her to wear, but Boudlal said it made her look like a joke.

"The hat makes a joke of my religion and draws even more attention to me," Boudlal told KTLA at the time.

"It's unacceptable. They don't want me to look Muslim. They just don't want the head covering to look like a hijab."

Boudlal had worked at the resort for two and a half years, but only realized she could wear her hijab to work after studying for her U.S. citizenship exam.

She became a citizen in June 2010, and decided to challenge the Disney dress code a couple months later, on August 15. When she wore her headscarf to work, Boudlal says she was told to take it off, work in the back where customers couldn't see her or go home.

She chose to go home, but reported to work for the next two days and was told the same thing.

Boudlal subsequently filed a complaint against Disney with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.

In a prepared statement, Disney spokeswoman Suzi Brown said the company "values diversity and has a long-standing policy against discrimination of any kind."

"Typically, somebody in an on-stage position like hers wouldn't wear something like that, that's not part of the costume," Brown said.

"We were trying to accommodate her with a backstage position that would allow her to work. We gave her a couple of different options and she chose not to take those."

But Boudlal maintains that wearing a headscarf is her constitutional right.

"My scarf doesn't do anything to harm Disney or the guests," she told KTLA.

"The Constitution tells me I can be Muslim, and I can wear the head scarf. Who is Disney to tell me I cannot?"

Named one of the top 500 hotels on the planet, the 5-Star Hotel Danieli of Venice, Italy has played host to the likes of Johann von Goethe, Richard Wagner, Honoré de Balzac, Charles Dickens and Emile Zola.

A one night stay in this swankiest of Venetian hotels runs the range of $12,198.88 (£7,747.29) to $308.05 (£195.64) per night.

It must cost that much in order to hire a go-between for a Muslim porter who refuses to take orders from his female supervisor.

As reported by the Italian newspaper Il Gazzettino, an unnamed Muslim porter of Egyptian origin at the hotel was quoted as stating:

"I do not take orders from a woman."

So to ensure the centuries old hotel properly adhered to the young immigrant's "rigid religious vision," the Danieli hired a male as a full time employee whose sole responsibility is to relay orders from the female supervisor to the sharia-compliant employee.

As reported by Il Gazzettino:

"We therefore decided to guarantee that during his work hours, his boss would have a male colleague at her side who would act as a liaison with the Egyptian to communicate the tasks to be performed."

The savage should have been fired. On the spot.

Islamization of the Workplace: Wegman's Adheres to Sharia, Halal Checkout Line for Muslim Cashier

Wegman's has put up a sign asking customers buying pork or alcohol not to use a particular checkout line when a Muslim teenager is on duty as the cashier.

More islamization of the marketplace. This is a pattern.

If you don't want to handle meat that's not halal, work for a Muslim butcher. Don't take a job at Wegman's, Wal-mart or Target. But it is not about that. It's about imposing Islam on non-Muslims. Special accommodations for a "special class." This is part of a systematic campaign to impose the sharia on the secular marketplace. Muslim workers suing Disney over their sixty-year-old dress code or Muslim cashiers suing Wal-Mart and Target over their refusal to handle meat that is not halal is all part of a much larger supremacist effort. It has succeeded in Europe, which is all but doomed. They mean to replicate it here. This is well documented in my book, Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance.

It’s a first for Wegmans in this area. They’ve put up a sign asking customers buying pork or alcohol not to use a particular checkout line when a Muslim teenager is on duty as the cashier.
The sign went up a week ago at their Lyell Avenue store.

Wegmans says they haven’t gotten any in store complaints and Wegmans was very upfront about the cashier. They just wouldn’t allow us in the store to talk with her or customers.
Spokeswoman Jo Natale says the cashier is a teenaged girl who wears a head covering. She told her supervisor she was uncomfortable handling those items because of religious reasons. So the store manager who had experience with this type of situation outside of Rochester decided to put up a small sign whenever the girl was at the checkout counter.

It says, “If your order contains pork or alcohol product, we respectfully ask that you choose another lane.”

Wegmans also says the girl has been coached what to say if customers ask why. People News10NBC spoke with outside the Lyell Avenue Wegmans store said they were okay with it and one even knows Christians who don’t like the idea of serving alcohol.

Bernard Thomas said, “I feel like if they’re going to hire her and she’s got to have the job, why shouldn’t we respect her. Just go to another cashier.”
Darlene Hucko said, “I would respect her beliefs and go to the next line if I had alcohol.
Levato said, “You think that’s okay.”
Hucko said, “I think it is okay.”
Alex Gritsvuta said, “I'm from a Christian background and waiters...the Christian girls that I know have a problem serving alcohol to people in a bar. Not in the bar necessarily, maybe in the restaurant.”

Mosqueing the workplace

1. Greeley CO and Grand Island, Nebraska: JB Swift meat packing plants. Muslims get special break times. Non-Muslims protested because of the inconvenience caused to them.

2. DELL Computers: Nashville.

In February 2005, thirty-one Muslims working at the Nashville, Tennessee plant of the computer firm Dell walked off the job after they were denied permission to leave their workstations and pray. Dell fired the Muslim workers, but CAIR took up their cause and began to pressure Dell to change its practices in order to accommodate Islamic prayer during the workday. Dell quickly caved. Within a month the corporation had agreed to reinstate the employees who had walked out, give them back pay, and allow them time on the job for Islamic prayer. Dell also agreed to give its managers training in accommodating Muslim demands in the workplace.

3. TARGET: in March 2007 Muslim cashiers at some Target store outlets in Minneapolis began to refuse to ring up pork products, causing delays as they had other cashiers handle the untouchable items or even told customers to ring them up themselves. Target Corporation finally opted for the path of least resistance, offering to allow the Muslim cashiers to wear gloves while operating the cash register, so as to avoid touching any of the offending pork, or to shift the recalcitrant, pork-hating cashiers to other jobs within the store.

4. FIRED for EATING BACON: Lina Morales, who for ten months held a job at Rising Star, a telecoms company in Florida. One fateful day in 2004 she was eating a bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich at work, and was summarily fired for violating a company rule against eating pork products on company premises. However, Morales said that she had never agreed to comply by any such rule, and indeed, “When I got hired there, they said we don’t care what religion you are.”

Special accommodation for Muslims:

5. In September 2007, the Indianapolis Airport announced that, as part of a $1.07 billion terminal renovation scheduled to be completed by November 2008, footbaths would be installed in a restroom used by cab drivers -- so that the drivers, almost all Muslims, could easily perform the rituals required before Islamic prayers. The floor-level sinks, which cost $400-600 each, would be financed through airport revenue. An airport spokesman, David Dawson, insisted, “These facilities are for everybody’s use.” 

<6. In 2007 a public school, the Minneapolis Community and Technical College, announced plans to construct full preparation facilities for Islamic prayer – despite having prohibited a coffee cart from playing Christmas carols on campus the previous year. New York University followed suit in October 2007, as have many other public colleges and universities. Seventeen universities have announced plans to install footbaths, including Boston University, George Washington University and Temple University. And all of this is going on at the instigation of the MSA -- a Muslim Brotherhood organization.

7. Ridgeland School District 122 – comprising five schools in Oak Lawn, Illinois – blazed a trail when it banned pork from school cafeterias, so as to avoid offending Muslim students. (The possibility that non-Muslim students might be offended by having to conform their eating habits to Islamic dietary regulations was apparently not considered.) The pork ban even included Jell-O, since gelatin is made from pork products.

8. In San Diego’s Carver Elementary School, when over one hundred Somali Muslim students enrolled after a charter school closed in 2006, school officials scheduled breaks so that Muslim students could pray during school time, and even introduced sex-segregated classes to conform to Islamic sensibilities. Pork, of course, vanished from the school cafeteria, and Arabic classes were added to the curriculum. Investor’s Business Daily editorialized, “In effect, Carver administrators have carved out a school within a school expressly for Muslims, elevating them above Christian and Jewish students. They’ve had 15 minutes of instruction time taken away from them, so Muslims can roll out their prayer mats. It amounts to a special privilege afforded a specific religion, which plainly does not have our best interests at heart.”

Sharia finance:

Barclays, Citibank, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, Dow Jones, Goldman Sachs, HSBC Bank, Lloyd’s, Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, and Standard & Poors have created “Sharia Advisory Boards,” staffed with Islamic clerics and scholars, in order to help them bring their financial practices into line with Islamic norms – so as to attract Muslim investors and help Muslims in the West find ways to avoid breaking Islamic law in their financial transactions.

A journalist who has exhaustively documented Sharia finance initiatives, Alyssa A. Lappen, reported that “among the perils of shari’a finance, according to a January [2008] analysis by Moody’s Investors Service are: A central role in investment decisions for shari’a scholars who are actually Islamic clerics; investors being forced to accept weak positions; short track records of major investors; multiple complex asset types; risky interest rates and new ventures; plus a lack of transparency combined with corporate management and risk control in the hosting Third World countries."

Mosqueing the Workplace: Muslims Sue Hertz to Impose Prayer Times

The escalating Islamic war to impose Islam on the secular market place heats up ....... at Hertz. Back in early October, I reported on that Hertz had suspended 35 muslim workers for abusing their extra special "prayer break times" and refusing to clock out when praying.

Hertz said that Muslim workers could return to work if they clocked out when they prayed. They couldn't abuse their prayer times if they clocked out, could they? The Muslim workers refused to clock out. Hertz fired them, and rightly so.

Today the Islamic supremacist workers sued Hertz over Muslim prayer time. Litigation jihad.

This is exactly the pattern that I meticulously document in my must read primer, Stop the Islamization of America.

Demands for accommodation result in ....more demands. Take for example, the Heinz company. Heinz has bent over backwards to accommodate these Muslim workers: they have prayer rooms, prayer times, etc. They just don't want them leaving work to pray outside of scheduled break times. Mind you, they could easily pray before or after work, but no. This imposes Islam on everyone else. Now Muslim workers are suing Heinz, demanding to be allowed to say prayers in the workplace at the time of day specified by their religion.

You'll notice, big companies are always targeted.  Hertz, Heinz, Target, Wal-Mart, Disney, etc. Why? To set precedents.

May I suggest that readers rent from Hertz, and only Hertz for now?

MAS Mega-Mosque Building in Sheepshead Bay

Voorhies Avenue -- pretty, small attached homes line the quiet street. The MAS mega mosque will tower across the street.

Once again we see politicians and various government agencies caving to the Islamic supremacist demands for special accommodations. If a giant Wal-Mart or Lowes or a synagogue or a church proposed building an out-of-all-proportion store or structure on a quiet residential street, it would never get past zoning or building codes. But when it comes to a mosque, all bets are off.

And when a town or a city does enforce its zoning and building code laws, you can expect Obama's Department of Justice to enforce the sharia and sue the city or town. Americans face an uphill battle. Take, for example, the denial of a monster mosque proposed in California:

The Justice Department is launching an inquiry into the decision of a Los Angeles suburb to deny a local mosque’s planned expansion.

Federal officials are looking into whether or not Lomita, California city council members violated the Religious Land Use and Institutionalized Persons Act when they rejected the construction plans almost two years ago, according to the Daily Breeze, a local newspaper.

City Attorney Christ Hogin told the newspaper that the investigation started in July.

The city council denied that religion played a role in their decision, which they said was influenced by concerns over traffic and parking.

But the mosque’s supporters say that the city’s planning commission and municipal staff had recommended that the plans — to build a two- story building to replace eight aging buildings on the one acre lot — be approved, and that a study had found the expansion would have no effect on traffic patterns.

The mosque’s supporters contend that anti-Muslim sentiment informed the city council’s decision to reject the proposal.

And when Justice Department officials read a May 2010 Los Angeles Times blog post which reported that members of the Mosque felt discriminated against, they decided to launch their investigation, according to the Daily Breeze.

“I believe the city’s denial of the rezoning has constituted a substantial burden on the mosque community to practice their religion,” said Ameena Qazi, an attorney with the Council on American-Islamic Relations who is representing the mosque.

Businesses and houses of worship get denied all the time. But when it comes to rabats (beachheads to expand the Muslim Brotherhood project), our laws go out the window and sharia is imposed.

The tough, scappy patriots fighting the mega-mosque in Sheeshead Bay have the political and bureaucratic forces working very much against them. The idea that a giant mosque is being erected on that quiet little residential street is outrageous. Their neighborhood residents' issues with the mega-mosque are as follows:

• It will disrupt our quiet residential way of life.
• Additional foot and car traffic will indanger  children attending public school, located across the street.
• Mosque traffic will negatively affect both drivers and pedestrians living in the area.
• Calls to prayer five times a day will destroy the quality of life most people residing here are accustom to.
• Dozens and hundreds of people congregating at the facility every single day will create unbearable noise as they enter and leave the premises.
• Developers refuse to accommodate for parking spaces- lying to DOB about total occupancy during prayer times, constantly changing the floor plans whenever community asks questions.
• Members of the community are accused of being racists, terrorists, and bigots simply for trying to defend our rights.
• The ill-conceived project is moving forward, helped by the constant lying and manipulation of plans and permits, and despite multiple  fines (to date more than $30,000), violations,  and creating false statements in court documents.  So far there are 23 complaints, 21 ECB violations, 1 DOB violation, and 1 OSHA violation, 2 full stop work orders, which were ignored until the foundation was completed.
• Our concerns have been brought to city officials and government departments, but hardly anyone has seriously listened or met with us to help us stop this construction, preserve our quality of life and protect our real estate values. Our politicians need our votes but time and time again hide behind political correctness when the community needs them.
• Residents are very concerned with who is backing this construction financially. We know that MAS is in charge of overlooking the project.  We have questions and concerns that are not being answered by the other side.

The mosque's contractor continues to violate the NYC Building Code, in addition to the DOT and OSHA violations. Obtaining a DOT permit is just a joke for the contractors, and the Building Department continues to look other way. Special rules for a "special" class.

And the mega-mosque lawyer is the notorious Jew-hater, agitator and  jihad fixer, Lamis Deek, who is also representing Ahmed Ferhani in his trial for a jihad plot to blow up a synagogue. Opponents of Sheepshead Bay mosque lose BSA appeal The Real Deal

A group of Sheepshead Bay residents who claim that a planned mosque is using a zoning loophole to skirt parking requirements lost their latest attempt to halt the controversial project, after the Board of Standards and Appeals unanimously rejected their claims today.

Though it hasn't attracted as much attention as Park 51 [Ground Zero Mosque] , the Islamic community center in Lower Manhattan, the mosque planned for 2812 Voorhies Avenue, on a residential block between East 28th and East 29th streets, has inspired protests, a lawsuit and challenges before the Department of Buildings.

Bay People, an organization formed to oppose the project, claims the mosque will increase traffic and noise in the neighborhood, decreasing property values. But the group has also come under fire for what is seen as its anti-Muslim bias.

In several DOB complaints lodged earlier this year, Bay People contended that the mosque, which is affiliated with the non-profit Muslim American Society, must provide on-site parking because of the number of worshippers expected at the property.

But DOB, which had already approved the project, shot down the challenges, finding the mosque would comply with zoning rules. The BSA voted 5-0 to affirm DOB today and is expected to issue a written decision shortly, according to Howard Goldman, a land-use attorney who represented Bay People.

Goldman said the decision would have an impact across the city, allowing any house of worship to design prayer rooms in such a way to avoid providing parking. "Any house of worship can now follow this ruling," Goldman said, adding, "It may require that there be an amendment to the zoning resolution to eliminate this loophole."

Developer Allowey Ahmed bought the property -- comprised of a vacant lot and a lot with a single-family home -- for $800,000 in 2007, from a couple who had owned there since 1974, according to city property records. Last October, he got the green light from DOB to erect a three-story brick building, with a 2,465 square foot structure on a 4,500-square-foot lot, department records show.

This massive structure will overwhelm this quiet residential street.

For Bay People, the sticking point is the way the mosque's proposed worship rooms are divided into two separate spaces: a 138-person main assembly room on the first floor and a 75-person secondary room overlooking the main space, according to plans submitted to DOB. (Goldman believes the second space is intended as a prayer room for women.)
New York's zoning code requires that houses of worship -- mosques, churches, synagogues, or otherwise -- provide one parking space for every 15 occupants of a site's largest assembly room, or 9.2 parking spaces in the case of the Sheepshead Bay mosque. But facilities that are required to provide fewer than ten spaces are, in fact, exempt from the parking obligations altogether.

The Bay People argue that the mosque developers designed the assembly rooms, which they say are meant to be used simultaneously for prayers, to evade the parking regulation. "They manipulated the size of the men's worship room [the main room] to come just under the number that would require any parking at all," Goldman said, "and I think that was very intentional."

If the rooms were counted as a single assembly hall for zoning purposes, he said, the mosque would be required to provide 20 parking spaces, cutting into the size of the building.

But Lamis Deek, an attorney for the developers, said the wall between the rooms was a permanent partition required by fire regulations. "This is a real pulling at straws," she said. (The construction manager on the project declined to comment without speaking with Deek first.)

This is not the only front where Bay People are fighting the mosque.

In February, they filed a nuisance claim in New York state court seeking to block the project. The developers fired back with counterclaims for malicious prosecution, defamation and abuse of process, seeking at least $56,000, plus punitive and other damages.

In September, Kings County Supreme Court Judge Mark Partnow dismissed both filings, but Deek said that both parties have appealed.

Bay People has maintained that they do not oppose the project on xenophobic grounds, but Deek said the organization had launched a campaign to persuade city officials that the mosque would act as a terrorist recruitment center. "When that failed, they then attempted to mask their initial intent … with what they knew to be a frivolous legal claim," she said.

Goldman declined to discuss the issue, saying it was irrelevant to the BSA case, but he maintained that the lack of parking spots would cause significant congestion on the block.

The public face of the Muslim Brotherhood, the MAS (Muslim American Society), is going forward with the mega-mosque on a small, quiet residential street in Sheepshead Bay. The huge and well-funded Islamic machine is steam rolling over the victims in the community.

They wield talk of tolerance and multi-culturalism like clubs to suppress free speech (show me one Islamic country that is tolerant of anyone or anything). They ignore the legitimate concerns of the community while crying racism (Islamic supremacism is not a race).

The Muslim American Society (MAS), from Discover the Networks:

MAS's mission is to promote "Islam as a total way of life"; to “encourage the participation of Muslims in building a virtuous and moral society”; to “offer a viable Islamic alternative to many of our society’s prevailing problems”; to “promote family values in accordance with Islamic teaching”; to “promote the human values that Islam emphasizes: brotherhood, equality, justice, mercy, compassion, and peace”; and to “foster unity among Muslims and Muslim organizations and encourage cooperation and coordination amongst them.” MAS identifies the Muslim Students Association and the Islamic Society of North America as Muslim organizations that are rooted in the same “Islamic revival movement” as MAS.

In May 2005, Daveed Gartenstein-Ross reported in The Weekly Standard that MAS is a U.S. front group for the Muslim Brotherhood -- a claim supported by a September 19, 2004 Chicago Tribune story that stated: “In recent years, the U.S. Brotherhood operated under the name Muslim American Society, according to documents and interviews. One of the nation’s major Islamic groups, it was incorporated in Illinois in 1993 after a contentious debate among Brotherhood members.”  This Tribune article was later reproduced on the Muslim Brotherhood’s English-language website, Ikhwanweb.

MAS, like the Muslim Brotherhood, wishes to see the United States governed by sharia, or Islamic law. "The message that all countries should be ruled by Islamic law," writes Gartenstein-Ross, "is echoed throughout MAS's membership curriculum. For example, MAS requires all its adjunct members to read Fathi Yakun's book To Be a Muslim. In that volume, Yakun spells out his expansive agenda: 'Until the nations of the world have functionally Islamic governments, every individual who is careless or lazy in working for Islam is sinful.'"

MAS's ties to the Muslim Brotherhood were confirmed on August 14, 2007, as The Investigative Project on Terrorism reported:

"As the terror-support trial of the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) continued today, FBI agent Lara Burns testified that a phonebook found at the home of Ismail Elbarrasse -- un-indicted co-conspirator and former assistant to HAMAS leader Musa Abu Marzook -- listed the names and numbers of the Muslim Brotherhood leadership in the United States. On the first page of the phonebook under the title ‘Members of the Board of Directors’ were fifteen names. Among those names are Ahmad Elkadi, Jamal Badawi, and Omar Soubani: the founding incorporators of the Muslim American Society (MAS)."

The Investigative Project continued:

"This evidence confirms ... Matthew Levitt’s expert testimony that MAS is the representative of the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States, and is substantiated by a [2004] Chicago Tribune article that outlined the history of MAS.

"Ahmad Elkadi, who told the Chicago Tribune that he was the leader of the Brotherhood in the U.S. from 1984-1994, worked with Mohammed Mahdi Akef, head of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood since 2003, to advocate for the founding of MAS. According to the Tribune report, Akef and Elkadi pushed for more openness for the Muslim Brotherhood through MAS. Akef himself ‘says he helped found MAS by lobbying for the change during trips to the U.S.’

“In fact, MAS does not deny its Muslim Brotherhood foundations. In 2004, then-Secretary General of MAS Shaker Elsayed stated to the Tribune that ‘Ikhwan [Brotherhood] members founded MAS…’ Elsayed even went so far as to admit that about 45 percent of MAS’s active members belong to the Brotherhood. Federal officials have confirmed this, noting continued ties between MAS and the Muslim Brotherhood."

MAS is described by Stephen Schwartz, author of The Two Faces of Islam, as "a major component" of the "Wahhabi Lobby" that channels money from and advances the policies of Muslim-fundamentalist Saudi Arabia.

MAS publishes The American Muslim magazine. In a July 2003 article titled "Reaching the Roots of Terrorism," author Omer bin Abdullah blames America's "forceful" foreign policy for having provoked the 9/11 attacks. "Terrorism enables the weak to confront the strong,” he writes, “and thus has an enduring appeal to those who are dissatisfied with the status quo. … Its causes usually can be traced to political oppression, cultural domination, economic exploitation, ethnic discrimination, and religious persecution. … The U.S. has placed itself in a corner: It insists that other governments stop, prevent, and even help it to fight terrorism, and yet arms such practitioners of state terrorism as Tel Aviv. Today, terrorism refers to those whom the U.S. dislikes, especially Muslims.”

A former delivery driver has filed a federal lawsuit against a soda bottling plant in Harvey that allegedly fired him shortly after he asked to time his lunch break to attend weekly Islamic prayers at a mosque.

According to the suit, Nathan Henderson, a Muslim, had worked for the American Bottling Company for only a month in early September 2007 when his boss pulled him aside to discuss reports that Henderson was taking time to say his five daily prayers during the workday.

NOEL, Mo. — Approximately 130 Muslim workers, many of whom are Somali refugees, who walked off the job at the Tyson Foods processing plant in Noel on Friday, have returned to their shifts after reaching a tentative agreement with management allowing for prayer time.

Tyson officials and workers met Monday afternoon, and agreed to negotiate a long-term solution.

Muslims are required to pray five times daily at specific times, including 5 p.m., which was the time most in dispute between employees and a new management team at the plant.

Tyson officials and a Union representative have said the Noel plant is the most culturally diverse in the company.

Steve Eckley, Senior Vice-President of Hutton Hotel, has caved to Islamic supremacist demands and cancelled our entire Preserving Freedom Conference scheduled for November 11th in Nashville. Eckley notified us that they will not honor our contract. Steve said that if we showed up we would not be let in. He said he has been getting threatening letters and calls. We are currently awaiting the written notification of the cancellation.

I was a scheduled keynote speaker, along with Robert Spencer, Wafa Sultan, Mark Durie, William Murray, Father Keith Roderick, and a host of voices for freedom.

This is the second time in no less than a week that a major hotel has capitulated to intimidation and demands to enforce the blasphemy laws under the sharia here in America. Opposing the most radical and extreme ideology on the face of the earth is now forbidden in the war of ideas.

Just last week the Hyatt Place in Sugarland canceled a tea party event where I was scheduled to speak. They have since apologized, but that is hardly enough. Free speech, the cornerstone of our constitutional republic, is in serious jeopardy. Under the Shariah, criticism of Islam is blasphemy (punishable by death in Muslim countries living under the Shariah). This is the death of free speech in the continuing Islamization of America. This is yet another shattering demonstration of why I wrote my book Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance.

The silencing of free speech is key to the islamization of America.

Americans must boycott these cowardly enterprises and raise their voices in protest.

Mr. Eckley told me that they cancelled the event because of "risk to their property and staff" and numerous threatening calls they received. I asked him where the threats were coming from and he refused to answer that. He indicated he did not contact the FBI or Homeland Security or local police, because he cancelled the event and there was no need to do so. I asked him if the hotel gets a bomb threat over a particular event to they simply cancel the event and fail to contact police in that case, too? He then hung up stating I was "so right wing" he didn't want to talk any longer. The hotel has referred any contacts to their pr agency.

Hurray for Hertz! Fires 25 Muslim drivers who refuse to clock out

I have been covering the insubordination of Muslim drivers who have been abusing Muslim prayer times while working for Hertz. The flagrant abuse of "prayer times" by Muslim workers at Hertz is an ongoing Islamic pattern outlined in my book, Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance. 

Hertz has been extraordinarily generous to their Muslim workers, giving them Muslim prayer times and going out of its way to accommodate all of them, setting up a prayer room at the airport site.

Accommodations for Muslim workers at Hertz resulted in abuse and .... more demands. Muslim workers demanded and received Muslim prayer times, but refused to clock out. These workers were suspended.

"On the part of workers, they don't want to clock out despite being paid because, according to Thompson, they don't want to feel "monitored" during their religious rituals."

Hertz said that Muslim workers could return to work if they clocked out when they prayed. They couldn't abuse their prayer times if they clocked out, could they? The Muslim workers refused and were fired.

Hertz fires 25 Muslim drivers who refuse to clock out Seattle

Hertz has sent termination letters to 25 drivers at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after they refused to agree to clock out for daily breaks, during which they normally pray. The workers — all Somali Muslims — were among 34 employees suspended Sept. 30 for failing to clock out before breaks.

Hertz has sent termination letters to 25 drivers at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport after they refused to agree to clock out for daily breaks, during which they normally pray.

The workers — all Somali Muslims who drive the company's rental cars to and from the airport for cleaning and refueling — were among 34 Hertz employees suspended Sept. 30 for failing to clock out before breaks.

The rental-car company at the time said some of the workers were taking longer than the 10 minutes allowed. The workers usually take two paid breaks during a regular eight-hour shift.

Nine of the 34 suspended drivers signed the agreement and have returned to their jobs, the company said.

Officials with Teamsters Local 117, which represents the workers, said the two sides had tried to negotiate an agreement that would have allowed the workers to return to their pre-suspension status, under which they wouldn't have to clock out to pray.

But they were unable to agree.

Paul Zilly, spokesman for the union, said the workers were given an ultimatum to sign the document to clock out.

"They were debating, going back and forth," he said. "They all felt it was a contractual violation." He said that if Hertz believed certain employees were abusing the break policies, then it should have dealt with them individually, rather than penalizing an entire group.

"There may have been some taking longer than 10 minutes, but why single out the entire group based on their religion?"

A Hertz spokesman said many of the workers had been with the company for 15 years, and Hertz went out of its way to accommodate all of them, setting up a prayer room at the airport site.

The company had made it clear to the suspended workers that if they wanted to be reinstated they needed to agree to the clock-out conditions by the end of the day Thursday, said spokesman Rich Broome.

"We're disappointed that the rest of the transporters did not take us up on what we thought was a reasonable resolution of this matter — reserving their right to pray during paid breaks," Broome said.

"We felt clocking out is a fair way to maintain order while keeping our operations running smoothly."

The Teamsters represents about 79 Hertz drivers who earn between $9.15 and $9.95 an hour. Most are Muslim.

The union has filed grievances against Hertz with the National Labor Relations Board and said it's filing religious discrimination charges with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC).

Broome said the company and the workers had reached an EEOC settlement two years ago, in which workers agreed they would clock out for their two breaks.

The company had been informing workers that they needed to clock out for some time before finally posting a notice to that effect on the day they were suspended.

Those who clocked out on that day were not suspended, the company said.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today welcomed a decision by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to take action against an agency official in Montana who forwarded an Islamophobic email to a Muslim attorney.

Norum should not have lost his job. Period. This is a free country -- we do not live under the sharia. You may not agree with Norum, but so what? This is indicative of just how badly law enforcment is self-enforcing the blasphemy laws under the sharia (do not offend Islam). Immigrations and Customs Enforcement official relieved of duties Great Falls Tribune

HELENA — A top Immigrations and Customs Enforcement official who sent an Islamophobic email to a Helena immigration attorney has been relieved of his supervisory duties, according to lawyers involved in the case.

Earlier this month, Bruce Norum, the supervisory detention and deportation officer for the Helena Department of Homeland Security ICE field office, forwarded a racially charged email to Shahid Haque-Hausrath, a Helena immigration attorney of Pakistani descent.

Haque-Hausrath, a natural-born U.S. citizen who was raised in a Muslim
household, took offense to the email and filed official complaints with DHS and the U.S. Department of Justice. Haque-Hausrath's complaint maintained that it is unacceptable for a top-ranking ICE official with authority over immigrants of all races, nationalities and religious backgrounds to send such a racially charged email to anyone, especially from a work computer and during work hours.

On Wednesday, Haque-Hausrath said he was contacted by Steven Branch, Norum's supervisor in Salt Lake City, who said Norum is no longer serving as the supervisory detention and deportation officer for the Montana office.

According to Haque-Hausrath, Branch, the director for ICE's Salt Lake City field office, contacted Haque-Hausrath's attorney last Friday to let him know that his office had received the complaint and was taking it seriously.

"He said he was taking swift action to make sure the credibility of his office wasn't called into question, and to make sure I was able to continue to perform my duties without bias or retaliation," Haque-Hausrath said. "He said he wanted to run a clean operation, and he understood that Bruce Norum's actions compromised the integrity of that operation."

ICE officials declined to comment on whether Norum's status as supervisory detention and deportation officer had changed. ICE officials in Helena, Boise and Salt Lake City all referred calls to public information officer Carl Rusnok in the Dallas field office. Rusnok was not able to provide any specific details on Wednesday.

"We want to make sure we're not violating anybody's privacy, especially when we're talking about an individual law enforcement officer," Rusnok said.

Haque-Hausrath said he also was contacted Wednesday by a special agent with the Justice Department's Office of Professional Responsibility. Haque-Hausrath said he is scheduled to meet with investigators next week to discuss Norum's email.

"An investigation into Mr. Norum's misconduct is going forward, and I am cooperating fully with that investigation," Haque-Hausrath said.

According to Haque-Hausrath, Branch told him on Friday that Norum had been replaced, at least on a temporary basis, by longtime ICE officer Stewart Carlson.

"Officer Carlson has been a deportation officer who worked under Mr. Norum for many years. I have a good working relationship with Mr. Carlson, and I was pleased to hear he would assume the role as acting (supervisory detention and deportation officer)," Haque-Hausrath said.

Carlson also declined to comment, forwarding all questions to Rusnok.

Shortly after the Tribune reported on Norum's email Sunday, the Washington, D.C.-based Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, issued a press release demanding ICE take swift disciplinary action against Norum.

CAIR also called for a review of ICE training on issues related to Islam and the American Muslim community.

"This incident is yet another example of why our nation's security and counterterrorism agencies need to completely review and reform training and educational materials dealing with any issue related to Islam or American Muslims," said CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper. "The fact that such a senior official would re-distribute materials questioning the loyalty of American Muslims is evidence of an internal breakdown in training and suggests that an atmosphere of intolerance may be present in the agency."

On Wednesday, Hooper said he welcomed the news that Norum has been relieved of his supervisory duties.

"I think it shows that ICE is taking this incident seriously, and we'll just have to wait for the ultimate outcome to make a final judgment," Hooper said. "Obviously we welcome this initial action, and we hope that further steps are taken."

Haque-Hausrath said if the investigation finds that Norum intentionally sent the inflammatory email to someone, regardless of whether he intended for Haque-Hausrath to be a recipient, then Norum should be terminated.

"My only hope is that an investigation is conducted fairly and that at the conclusion of the investigation, if Mr. Norum is found to have deliberately sent that message, then he should be terminated, and he should never serve in a supervisory capacity ever again," Haque-Hausrath said.

Mosqueing the Workplace: Hertz suspends 35 Muslim Workers for Abusing Special Prayer Break times, Refusing to Clock Out when Praying

Here, yet again, is another glaring example of what I call in my book, Stop the Islamization of America: A Practical Guide to the Resistance, the mosqueing of the workplace: the imposing of Islamic law on the secular marketplace. No big media outlet will talk about the bigger picture, but one only needs to look at Europe to see the bleak future if this supremacism goes unchallenged.

Demands for accommodation result in ....more demands. Take for example, the Heinz company. Heinz has bent over backward to accommodate these Muslim workers: they have prayer rooms, prayer, etc. They just don't want them leaving work to pray outside of scheduled break times. Mind you, they could easily pray before or after work, but no. This imposes Islam on everyone else. Now Muslim workers are suing Heinz, demanding to be allowed to say prayers in the workplace at the time of day specified by their religion.

Is this any different? You'll notice, big companies are always targeted. Why? To set precedent.

So Hertz is giving them prayer breaks but stipulates that workers must clock out for them. But that's not enough to meet Muslim demands; if they clock out they're being "monitored." Beware, America, it's never enough.

Hertz Suspends 35 Muslim Workers for Praying Without Clocking Out Seattle Weekly (hat tip CJ)

​For years, Hertz Rent-a-Car has employed dozens of Muslim workers to shuttle its vehicles back and forth between Sea-Tac Airport and its nearby corporate office. The workers, mostly Somali immigrants, earn relatively low pay--about $10 an hour and no benefits--but they insist on one thing: praying two or three times a day. Managers, however, were concerned that the prayer breaks would "get out of hand," according to Hertz spokesperson Rich Broome.

So they warned employees that they better start clocking out when they pray. Many refused. So on Friday, the company indefinitely suspended approximately 35 workers.

Teamsters Local 117 held a protest at Sea-Tac yesterday (pictured above) and filed a complaint with the National Labor Relations Board. "I don't know what conclusion to draw except that this is based on religious discrimination," says Tracey Thompson, the union's secretary-treasure.

Hertz denies it, saying that Muslims who follow the rules are still gainfully employed.

According to Thompson, the contested prayer sessions took place on a rug behind a barrier in the garage where Hertz keeps its cars. She says the union has timed the prayers, and they take four to five minutes. (Broome says they're longer.) Most of the year, the workers pray twice during an eight-hour shift, but on special occasions they'll add another prayer. To compensate for their time on the prayer rug, they forego the twice daily 10-minute breaks that employees are entitled to.

Thompson says Hertz has long accepted this practice. And last year, she says, the company verbally agreed during negotiations that workers would not clock out for prayer breaks, even though all employees are required to punch in and out for regular breaks and meal times.

Broome denies such an agreement, and the written language of the contract, forwarded to SW by the union, doesn't specifically address whether workers have to clock out for "mini breaks," as prayer times are categorized.

The Hertz spokesperson insists that the clocking-out rule was clear. Therefore the company recently decided it had to crack down on those who were "insubordinate."

In some ways, it's a strange dispute. It's not exactly about money. Workers get paid even when they're clocked out--unless they go over their allotted time. Instead, for Hertz, the crackdown seems to be about making sure that workers don't get a minute more of break time than they're entitled to. (Note to bosses in low-wage industries: This is why your employees hate you.)

Broome portrays the goof-off potential as serious. "We didn't want a situation where a 10- or 12-minute prayer turned into a 40-minute break," he says. Asked if workers were, in fact, prolonging their prayer breaks, he declined to say.

On the part of workers, they don't want to clock out despite being paid because, according to Thompson, they don't want to feel "monitored" during their religious rituals.

Yet, they are anyway, the employees claim. The union relates one incident in which a manager attempted to block a group of Somali women from their ad hoc prayer room.

"He stood in front of the prayer room with his arms fully extended," employee Maryan Muse is quoted as saying in a union press release. "We managed to get into the prayer room, but while we were praying, they [Hertz management] were laughing and clapping their hands, mocking us."

Broome says he has never heard of any such incidents before being contacted by SW. As for the suspended workers, he says they won't be taken back "until they agreed to follow the rules."

Muslim Convert Janice Brown Cries "Religious Discrimination" after Hospital Refuses to Engage in Gender Discrimination Answering Muslims

Muslims are trying really, really hard to be the victims, and the media are trying really, really hard to make their wish come true.

Janice Brown is a convert to Islam. Based on her reading of the Qur'an, she believes that it would be a sin to take off her clothes in the presence of a male doctor. Hence, when she needed treatment for hemorrhoidal bleeding, she requested a female doctor. The hospital, however, refused to discriminate based on gender. That is, they refused to seek out a female doctor for Brown when a perfectly capable male doctor was available. The result? Brown is now claiming that, by refusing to discriminate against a doctor based on gender, the hospital discriminated against a Muslim based on religion. The media are supporting her, and the hospital is launching an investigation.

Now for the hilarious part. In the video below, Brown quotes from the Mohsin Khan translation of Surah 24:31 to explain why she can't take off her clothes in front of a male doctor. Apparently, no one over at Fox News bothered to read the entire verse when they decided to take Brown's discrimination claim seriously. The verse reads:

And tell the believing women to lower their gaze (from looking at forbidden things), and protect their private parts (from illegal sexual acts, etc.) and not to show off their adornment except only that which is apparent (like palms of hands or one eye or both eyes for necessity to see the way, or outer dress like veil, gloves, head-cover, apron, etc.), and to draw their veils all over Juyubihinna (i.e. their bodies, faces, necks and bosoms, etc.) and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husband's fathers, their sons, their husband's sons, their brothers or their brother's sons, or their sister's sons, or their (Muslim) women (i.e. their sisters in Islam), or the (female) slaves whom their right hands possess, or old male servants who lack vigour, or small children who have no sense of the shame of sex. And let them not stamp their feet so as to reveal what they hide of their adornment. And all of you beg Allah to forgive you all, O believers, that you may be successful.

Notice that this translation commands Brown to cover her face (except for one or both eyes). Yet when she's being interviewed for her anti-Muslim discrimination clip, she wears a simple hijab:

Notice also that the translation she quotes never says it's okay for female doctors to examine her. The Mohsin Khan translation only allows certain men, Muslim women, female slaves, and children to see Brown's "adornment." Hence, her request to the hospital should have gone something like this:

"I need to see a doctor. But I will only allow a doctor to examine me if the doctor is my husband, or my father, or my husband's father, or my son, or my husband's son, or my brother, or my brother's son, or my sister's son, or my sister in Islam, or my female slave, or an old male servant who lacks vigor, or a small child. And if you do not provide me with such a doctor, you are a hate-mongering, Islamophobic bigot who is discriminating against my religion!"

On a side note, I have to ask a question. What's more disturbing: (a) letting a trained male medical doctor treat your hemorrhoidal bleeding, or (b) letting your son, your stepson, your nephew, old men, and young children look at your vagina? According to Brown, (b) is perfectly acceptable, while (a) is an abomination.

Strange religion she converted to.

Muslim Woman: Hospital Mocked Her Faith: MyFoxPHILLY.com

FOXNEWS--A Muslim woman says she was forced to leave Abington Memorial Hospital without the care she needed, after a hospital staffer insulted her religion.

Janice Brown, 25, is a convert to the Islamic faith. And she suffers from periodic hemmoroidal bleeding, dating back to the birth of her daughter.

Late Thursday night, that bleeding led brown to the emergency room at Abington Memorial.

Brown says she'd called ahead, verifying that she'd be examined by a female doctor.

As a Muslim, it would be a sin for Janice to allow a non-related man to see her uncovered genital region.

But once inside the examination room, she was greeted by a man.

"The charge nurse came in- his name was James, though he went by Jim- and he told me that Abington Hospital does not discriminate and I'm not allowed to choose a preference whether i see a male doctor or a female doctor," says Brown.

The hospital's own web site includes a list of patients' rights that includes the right to medical and nursing services without discrimination based upon religion.

Janice's sister had joined her and confronted told the charge nurse.

"'You're asking her to go against her beliefs and commit sins because you don't want to find her a female doctor," she said.

And he said, 'I'm sure god will forgive her.'"

"I don't know if it was more of a mocking thing coming from the charge nurse- for him to tell me, 'oh, God's gonna forgive you.' You're not the one to make that decision in my life," says Janice Brown.

Brown says she stormed out and ultimately drove 45 minutes to another hospital, where she was treated without incident by a female physician.

She got home at 4 a.m.

"I think it's just a form of ignorance, basically. People not knowing or not taking the time to know or educate themselves about other religions so they can be sympathetic," said Brown.

Mosqueing the Workplace: Cargill Meatpacking Plant strives to Accommodate Muslim Workforce, Prayer Rooms, Prayer Rugs Not Enough

No matter how numerous the accommodations and concessions to Muslims in the workplace, it is never enough. More accommodation always leads to more demands. Take, for example, Cargill Meat Solutions: despite accommodating the vast majority of Muslim daily prayer requests in specially created "reflection rooms" with prayer rooms, that is not good enough -- Muslims want to shut down the production line.

Heinz has bent over backwards to accommodate Muslim workers already: they have two prayer rooms, and still that is not enough.

It is not necessary for a Muslim to pray at a certain time. These actions are merely devices in which to impose Islam on non-believers. Prayer is not required on a strict schedule and Muslim prayers are commonly “made up” after work or school. This is true even in Muslim countries, i.e., Iran.

This is stealth jihad, as Islamic supremacists seek to impose the sharia (i.e. with Wal-mart etc.).

Fort Morgan meatpacking plant strives, struggles to accommodate Muslim workforce Denver Post

FORT MORGAN — One afternoon this summer, Asha Abuukar said, she approached her supervisor at the Cargill Meat Solutions plant and got permission to go on break.

She washed in accordance with Islamic principles and prayed in a "reflection room" Cargill has set aside where beef is boxed and sealed.

When she returned two minutes late, she said, her supervisor told her that if it happened again, she would be fired.

"I'm sorry," Abuukar, 41, who also runs a Somali market in town, recalled replying. "I was only praying."

Although Cargill's Fort Morgan operation has escaped controversy over accommodating the religious needs of its Muslim workforce, an undercurrent of problems exists, according to current and former workers and Somali translators.

Company officials say they respect religious rights and follow the law but cannot undermine a plant that produces 4 million pounds of beef daily.

"We know that some of our employees would like a guaranteed prayer time every day," said Cargill spokesman Michael Martin. "That is not the legal requirement, and it would be impractical to accommodate this without shutting down the production line."

He said the company accommodates the vast majority of daily prayer requests.

The number of federal workplace-discrimination complaints filed by Muslims shot up in 2009 and 2010, to almost 800 each year, the EEOC says. Those numbers eclipsed the decade's previous high mark the year after 9/11.

She said Cargill created safe places to pray with two reflection rooms — oversized cubicles with separate spaces for men and women with prayer rugs replacing the cardboard boxes workers were using.

She also said Somali leaders sought out by the company determined workers' needs were being met.

"We believe people have the right to practice their sincerely held religious beliefs and that it's our obligation and responsibility to do what we can to accommodate that," she said.

Isn't it interesting how often these things happen in the Minneapolis area: it was at the Minneapolis/St.Paul International Airport that Muslim cab drivers tried a few years back to stop carrying passengers who had alcohol. It was in Minneapolis Target stores that Muslim cashiers refused to handle pork products. There have been other such incidents. And now this, which is yet another attempt to assert the primacy of Islamic laws and practices over American business practices and customs. Note also the involvement of Hamas-linked CAIR.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission will mediate a labor dispute between 22 Islamic workers and Dianne's Gourmet Desserts, a Le Center, Minn., subsidiary of H.J. Heinz Co.'s foodservice operations.

The Minnesota chapter of the [Hamas-linked] Council on American-Islamic Relations, based in Minneapolis, maintains that the Islamic workers were fired by the Le Center firm in December in a dispute over freedom to practice their religious beliefs, and were forcibly removed from the premises.

In a statement, Heinz called the council's statement "misleading." It said that allowances were made for Islamic workers to practice their faith and that "no Islamic employees were terminated from their jobs for requesting prayer accommodation and none were removed forcibly."...

Hamas-linked CAIR lying? Why, it's unprecedented!

The dispute allegedly revolves around whether Islamic employees were allowed to say prayers in the workplace at the time of day specified by their religion.

The council says that the Heinz subsidiary "created a new policy that abolished a break time used by Muslim employees to pray their evening prayer. The employees were prohibited from praying outside of the newly implemented work breaks, which did not coincide with prayer times."

Heinz said it is "strongly committed to recognizing and protecting religious diversity in the workplace," and that in Le Center it provided two prayer rooms for employees where the workers were "to take prayer breaks as a special accommodation to the requirements of their faith."...

This courageous police captain was initially disciplined for refusing to require his subordinates to attend an event at a Muslim Brotherhood mosque in Tulsa. So he filed a federal suit against the Tulsa Police Department asking for $1 in damages on each of two claims. I love him.

...Memos indicate that attendance was initially voluntary. However, Deputy Chief Daryl Webster ordered each patrol division to send six officers and three supervisors, when no one signed up.

Tulsa police captain in flap over Islamic invitation files lawsuit By David Harper, World Staff Writer (hat tip Ralph S)

A Tulsa police captain who refused to require that some of his subordinates attend a Law Enforcement Appreciation Day at a Tulsa mosque filed a federal lawsuit Wednesday, claiming that his First Amendment rights have been violated.

Capt. Paul Fields also claims that Deputy Chief Daryl Webster -- the sole defendant in the case at this point -- retaliated against him for his "exercise of his First Amendment rights" and singled out Fields for disparate treatment.

Fields asked for $1 in nominal damages on each of his two claims.

Fields has been assigned to a different division as the department investigates the matter, records show.

He was temporarily transferred Monday afternoon from the Riverside Division to another patrol shift at the Mingo Valley Division.

The Law Enforcement Appreciation Day is scheduled to be held at the mosque of the Islamic Society of Tulsa on March 4. Police Chief Chuck Jordan has said the society scheduled the event to show its appreciation for the officers' response to a threat against them.

In an e-mail sent by Tulsa Fraternal Order of Police Board of Directors Chairman Clay Ballenger to FOP members Monday, Ballenger said Fields' refusal "was based on the 1st Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, departmental policy, and past practices of the Tulsa Police Department."

Records show that Fields, 41, was hired by the department in 1995.

Memos obtained by the Tulsa World indicate that Fields believes that a directive by the department to send officers to the event is an unlawful order. Each of the department's three patrol divisions was assigned to schedule at least six officers and three supervisors from the three different shifts to attend the event.

Fields stated that he sought the advice of legal counsel and believes that "forcing me to enter a Mosque when it is not directly related to a police call for service is a violation of my Civil Rights," according to a memo to his supervisor dated Feb. 17.
