President O's press conference just concluded and it's a another O-bow-a jaw dropper. Zero brushed aside the whole piracy incident - extended short congratulations and dismissed it, and went straight to his drummed up economic crisis in order to commit the greatest heist of a public treasury in human history.
Yes, ladies and gentlemen, do not dwell on the good. Do not dare be "proud of your country" - unless, of course, you are Michelle Obama.
The last thing Zero wants is America feeling good about herself and worse yet, as a result of a soon to be slashed military. This schmuck should be hosting a parade down Pennsylvania Avenue.
But the narcissist-in-chief is too vain and self absorbed to see he could have used this victory for political gain and military cred. American exceptionalism and US military superiority is so repugnant to him, he cannot even fake pride in country. Everyone is talking about it today, except President Zero.
Yech. Perhaps it's because he was slow to step up and protect Americans.
UPDATE: Forgive me, I forgot to point out that Obambi's war on privacy, as opposed to piracy - Thanks to Mitch in the comments:
Very interesting Freudian slip in his statement, when he said we had to halt the rise of "privacy" in that area. Had this been any other politician, the jokes or accusations of stupidity would have started already, but in his case, it is no joke, it is exactly what he wants to do.
He slipped, all right, Obama's wiretapping is much more intrusive than the Bush administration ever imagined.
UPDATE: Perhaps because, as Debbie explains here,
However, the American crew of the Maersk says that they waited too long before they had help from the U.S. Navy (strangely, NBC edited that part out of the video after first airing it on tonight's NBC Nightly News). They say they were under attack for a week before the Islamic terrorists boarded their ship. They also said that the ship was never "taken" by the Islamic terrorist "pirates." Watch the second video. The crew's reaction is noteworthy, and their captain's brave behavior is very American.
