Presidential: Moral, Courageous, American ....Palin on Israel

Palin just gets better and better, and she was brilliant to begin with. It is no wonder Obama and his left-wing paramilitary thugs are scared to death of her. This is what the leader of the free world should sound like.

The media, as usual, seems to be reporting only one side of the Israeli Flotilla incident. Don’t trust the mainstream media to give you both sides of a story fairly… you must seek out fair reporting to ensure you have all the information.

As far too many in the media, and in various governments, rush to condemn Israel, we must put the recent events off Israel’s coast into the right perspective. This “relief” convoy was not about humanitarian aid, as the liberal mainstream media keeps reporting. The whole operation was designed to provoke Israel, not to provide supplies to Palestinians held hostage by Hamas terrorists in Gaza. Anyone who sees the video of Israeli commandos being attacked as they land on that ship knows the people aboard were vicious thugs, not “peace activists.” The media insults our intelligence with their outright mischaracterization of who these enemies are.

Israel delivers thousands of tons of humanitarian supplies every week to Gaza. These ships could have offloaded their cargoes at a nearby Israeli port if they really wanted to help the people of Gaza. Instead, they chose to incite confrontation and violence. Israel has a right to prevent arms shipments to Gaza that will be used to target innocent Israelis, so they were legitimately checking the cargo on the flotilla. Turkey has chosen to condemn Israel but we should be asking some serious questions about Turkey’s role in this whole affair. Why is a fellow member of NATO sponsoring such a dangerous publicity stunt? As one expert points out: “Three ships of that six-ship pro-terror convoy flew Turkish flags and were crowded with Turkish citizens. The Ankara government – led by Islamists these days – sponsored the ‘aid’ operation in a move to position itself as the new champion of the Palestinians. And Turkish decision-makers knew Israel would have to react – and were waiting to exploit the inevitable clash. The provocation was as cynical as it was carefully orchestrated.”

We can only hope the Obama Administration does not join the anti-Israel chorus in the aftermath of this staged confrontation. Please, Mr. President, we need to let Israelis know we stand with them in their fight against terrorists and those who arm and support them. America and her ally, Israel, stand by waiting for your response.

Much of the equipment and supplies aboard the “humanitarian” ships for Gaza has been checked and found to be worthless.

The cargo was taken off the boats at the Ashdod port and checked there, in accordance with the Israeli embargo on Gaza. The embargo is an acceptable measure taken between entities that are in a state of armed conflict, as are Israel and Hamas-run Gaza.

An IDF source said that the poor condition of the supplies renders most of it unusable. “This once again strengthens the evaluation that the intentions of the flotilla organizers were not humanitarian in the first place,” he said.

Many of the medicines are expired and/or came in an assorted, not easily organized manner. In addition, much of the equipment is in poor condition. Despite this, it is being taken to the Kerem Shalom crossing, and will be distributed in Gaza by human rights organizations.

Israel, despite the blockade, allows thousands of tons and food into Gaza each day. 

Of course, they do. It was never about that. These savages abhor basic human goodness. Like vampires they recoil from it.

Muslims Attack Jews in Judea/Samaria, Burn Jewish Cemetery in Ancient City of Hebron

Muslims in the ancient city of Hebron set fire to the city’s historic Jewish cemetery yesterday.

Spokesmen for the Hebron Jewish community said that since the fire broke out at about midnight and there is a tall iron fence surrounding the cemetery, arson appears to be the only plausible explanation. Hebron Jewish residents commented that the fire would have sparked international outrage if Jews had set fire to a Muslim cemetery in Hebron. In fact, when a mosque in the Palestinian Arab town of Luban al-Sharqiya was damaged in a fire of unknown origin on May 3, the New York Times published a half-page article about the incident.  Police investigators said there was no Hebrew graffiti in the vicinity of the mosque, and no signs of a break-in, leading them to suspect that the fire may have been caused by a faulty electric outlet.  Local Arabs accused Jews of setting the fire. So far the Times has not reported the fire in Hebron.

The Coming War

I rarely do this, but I ask all my readers to pray for Israel and the Jewish people.

Obama is lethal for Israel. And American Jewish lay leadership mimics the "Jewish Council" in Nazi Germany, expediting the plans, the solution, to the Jewish problem (i.e., the "Israel" problem). Israel has abdicated her security to America for too long, to her detriment. She has no choice now. Israel is responsible for herself. Look to no one. Do whatever you have to do to survive. The leftist/Islamic alliance that has imposed its agenda on the "international community" is imploding on itself.

So much for US President Barack Obama's famed powers of persuasion. At the UN's Nuclear Non-Poliferation Treaty review conference which opened this week, the Obama administration managed to lose control over the agenda before the conference even started.

Obama administration officials said they intended to use the conference as a platform to mount international pressure on Iran to stop its illicit nuclear proliferation activities. But even before the conference began, with a little prodding from Egypt, the administration agreed that instead of focusing on Iran, the conference would adopt Iran's chosen agenda: attacking Israel for its alleged nuclear arsenal.

Last week the Wall Street Journal reported that US officials were conducting negotiations with Egypt about Egypt's demand that the NPT review conference call for sanctions against Israel for refusing to join the NPT as a non-nuclear state. The Journal quoted a senior administration official involved in the discussions saying, "We've made a proposal to them [Egypt] that goes beyond what the U.S. has been willing to do before."

Among other possibilities, that proposal may have included a US agreement to appoint a UN envoy responsible for organizing a UN conference calling for the Greater Middle East to become a nuclear-free zone. In diplomatese, "Middle East nuclear-free zone" is a well-accepted euphemism for stripping Israel of its purported nuclear capability while turning a blind eye to Iranian, Syrian and other Islamic nuclear weapons programs. Egypt's demand, which it convinced more than a hundred members of the Non-Aligned bloc to sign onto, is for Israel to open its nuclear installations to international inspectors as a first step towards unilateral nuclear disarmament.

On Wednesday the US joined the other four permanent members of the Security Council in signing a statement calling for a nuclear-free Middle East and urging Israel, Pakistan and India to accede to the NPT as non-nuclear states. Following the US's lead, on Thursday Yukiya Amano, the new Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency wrote a letter to IAEA member states asking for their suggestions for how to convince Israel to sign the NPT. 

So as Iran -- an NPT signatory -- makes a mockery of the treaty by building nuclear weapons in contempt of its treaty obligations, the US has actively supported Iran's bid to use the NPT review conference as yet another UN forum for bashing Israel.

The middle east powder keg is on the verge of exploding. After repeated warnings of possible escalation between Iran and Israel, we get the first official confirmation that the conflict may not be tidy and contained. The Telegraph is reporting that King Abdullah of Jordan has just warned the US that a war between Israel and Hizbollah is imminent and that is could spread across the Middle East. Just like the Great Depression ended in a Great War, so this ongoing Great Depression v2.0 (because -10% GDP when one takes away the government stimulus is precisely that) is likely about to result in another one.

The king, in Washington for President Barack Obama's nuclear summit, gave his warning after Israel claimed that Syria had handed over Scud missiles in its armoury to the Lebanon-based Hizbollah.

His comments, which were made to private meeting of the US Congressional Friends of Jordan caucus were said to be "sobering".

Syria yesterday denied the allegation that it has provided Hizbollah with long-range Scud missiles, which would allowing them to target Israel's cities. The country's foreign ministry said the claims would be used as a pretext by Israel to raise tension prior to a possible attack on Hizbollah.

"For some time now, Israel has been running a campaign claiming that Syria has been supplying Hizbollah with Scud missiles in Lebanon ," a foreign ministry statement released yesterday said.

" Syria strongly denies these allegations which are an attempt by Israel to raise tensions in the region."

However, the statement did not appear to rule out an alternative possibility being raised by defence sources, that Damascus has allowed Hizbollah control of or access to Scud missiles still currently in Syria .

Similar sources say that Syria has trained Hizbollah operatives on advanced anti-aircraft batteries, possibly a more useful tool since Hizbollah – and the Lebanese army - fears the overwhelming air superiority enjoyed by Israeli jets.

The official US position:

"We are obviously increasingly concerned about the sophisticated weaponry that is allegedly being transferred," said Robert Gibbs, the White House spokesman. "We have expressed our concerns to those governments and believe that steps should be taken to reduce any risk and any danger."

And that of Israel:

Ehud Barak, the Israeli defence minister, said that the alleged transfer would alter the strategic balance of power between Hizbollah and Israel, which fought a short but bloody war in 2006.

An aide to Benjamin Netanyahu, the Israeli prime minister, said that the pace of Hizbollah's re-armament and Syria's role in it was causing growing alarm in the Jewish state.

"We are very conscious of the build-up of Hizbollah's military machine," the aide said. "We have unfortunately seen new types and greater quality of missiles. The Syrian role in passing those weapons to Hizbollah is ongoing and is dangerous."

Al-Rai, the Kuwaiti newspaper which first raised the allegations, said a Hizbollah source had confirmed it had access to Scuds but that they were old and unusable. The source said the issue was being blown out of proportion by Israel in order to create a media frenzy.

The newspaper did, however, link the claims to Hizbollah's threat that if Lebanese infrastructure, such as Beirut Airport , came under attack in the event of conflict, Israel would be hit in turn, including towns at the edge of the range of Hizbollah's known missile arsenal.

What is undisputed is that all sides are raising the stakes in the absence of negotiations between Israel and either Palestinian factions or Syria.

Look for oil to go to $150 if these escalations finally materialize into something real.

Israel might be preparing a military strike against Syria by accusing Damascus of supplying Hezbollah guerrillas in Lebanon with long-range Scud missiles, the Syrian government said on Thursday.

President Shimon Peres on Tuesday accused Syria of sending Hezbollah long-range Scuds. The United States said on Wednesday it was "increasingly concerned" about the transfer of more sophisticated weaponry to the Syrian and Iranian-backed Islamist group that fought a war with Israel in 2006.
"Israel aims from this to raise tension further in the region and to create an atmosphere for probable Israeli aggression," the Syrian Foreign Ministry said in a statement. "The Syrian Arab Republic denies these fabrications."

Hezbollah hit Israel with shorter range rockets during the 2006 war as at that time it lacked a longer-ranger missile capability.

An Israeli official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the Scuds were smuggled to Hezbollah in the past two months.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak insisted earlier this week that Israel does not have aggressive intentions in the area.

"We expect and recommend that everyone keep the current calm but as we've said, the introduction of systems that disturb the balance endanger the stability and the calm, he said.

The United States said the move would have a possible "destabilizing effect" on the region. The presence of more advanced missiles in Lebanon could raise the prospects of a pre-emptive strike by Israel.

Hezbollah is on the U.S. terrorism blacklist, but is part of Lebanon's unity government.

The Lebanese government has had no comment on the U.S. allegations. But Hezbollah lawmaker Hassan Fadlallah said the comments made by the White House were interference.

'Solomon's walls' stir Muslim fury

TEL AVIV, Israel, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- An Israeli archaeologist's discovery of fortifications in Jerusalem that she says date back 3,000 years to the time of King Solomon and the government's plans to include two West Bank shrines as part of Israel's national heritage has incensed Palestinians.

The Palestinians say they see this as a new plot to scupper their dream of an independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Palestinian protesters have clashed with Israeli police in Hebron after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu announced Sunday that the two fiercely contested sites in the West Bank would be included in a $100 million plan to restore national heritage sites.

These are the Cave of the Patriarchs in Hebron and Rachel's Tomb on the outskirts of Bethlehem, 12 miles north of Hebron.

The Hebron site has been a source of conflict for decades. Jews call it the Cave of the Patriarchs, where the Bible says the patriarchs Abraham, Issac and Jacob were buried with three of their wives. The site is also sacred to Muslims, who also revere Abraham. They call it the al-Ibrahimi Mosque.

Those killers can call it anything they want. Defend the Jewish homeland and its heritage.

And while 63%  of Americans staunchly support Israel, Obama slammed Israel for restoring the two national heritage sites. Be careful, B. Hussein, your Jew-hatred is showing. Perhaps it goes back to the Islamic antisemitism he was taught in his koranic classes in Jakarta.

During visit, Berlusconi draws parallel between Ahmadinejad and Hitler

Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi drew a connecting line yesterday between his visit to the Yad Vashem Holocaust Museum in Jerusalem, the Iranian nuclear program, and Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's denial of the Holocaust and calls for Israel's destruction.

"We must watch out," the visiting premier said. "We've already had one such madman in history."

Berlusconi also said his great dream is for Israel to join the European Union.

I love this man.

Speaking at a welcoming ceremony hosted by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu shortly after his arrival in Israel, the Italian leader said he would like to his visit produce "a shared commitment to work together for the future."

"I hope that all of us together can look forward to a future of prosperity, and mostly of peace for your people, whose existence is still doubted by someone whom we all wish to oppose," he added.

In response to the Italian leader's statement, Netanyahu said that "Rome and Jerusalem laid the foundations of Western civilization. Thus it is important for Italy and Israel to stand beside each other, determined to defend our future and our cultures."

Netanyahu also said he intends to deepen the ties between the two countries. During Berlusconi's visit, the two countries plan to sign a series of agreements for cooperation in various fields of activity.

Israeli officers cancel UK trip for fear of arrest

JERUSALEM – An Israeli military delegation has canceled an official visit to Britain, officials said Tuesday, the latest in a string of politicians and army officials to put off travel to the U.K. because of fears of war crimes prosecution.

Israel complained that the practice, spearheaded by pro-Palestinian activists, is harming relations, and Britain's visiting attorney general said an urgent solution must be found.

The Israelis called off their trip because their British army hosts could not guarantee they would not be arrested, the Israeli officials said, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the matter. Neither the Israeli military nor the British government would comment.

The incident underlined the effectiveness of a pro-Palestinian legal campaign to harass Israeli officials in the wake of war crimes allegations after Israel's devastating invasion of Gaza a year ago to stop rocket attacks.

Caroline Glick on Bibi's terrible capitualtion:  Bibi's bad week:  Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu weakened Israel this week. And he did so for no good reason.

The day after Netanyahu bowed to US pressure and announced a total freeze on Jewish construction in Judea and Samaria for ten months, Yediot Aharonot reported that the Obama administration now wants Israel to release a thousand Fatah terrorists from prison.

The Americans also want Israel to allow US-trained, terror-supporting Fatah paramilitary forces to deploy in areas that are currently under Israeli military control. Moreover, the Americans are demanding that Israel surrender land in the strategically crucial Jordan Valley to Fatah.

And these are just American preconditions for starting negotiations with the Palestinians. According to Yediot, if those talks ever begin, the White House will demand that Israel accept a Palestinian state in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria and Gaza and agree to ethnically cleanse all the areas of Jews.

So far from winning American support or at least causing the White House to ease its bullying, US President Barack Obama sees Netanyahu's decision to implement a militarily irrational, bigoted policy of prohibiting Jews from building in Israel's heartland as a drop in the bucket.

THE TRUTH is that Israel should not be in the business of negotiating the right of Israeli cities and villages to exist and prosper. The notion that it is acceptable to demand that Jews not be permitted to live in Judea and Samaria - or anywhere else in the world - is not a notion that Israel should countenance.

When the German authorities herded the Jewish population of Poland first into urban areas, and subsequently into ghettos, they required each community to form a Jewish Council. In smaller cities the councils had twelve members, in larger towns the number was twenty-four.

Most often composed of former community leaders, the councils took on all the duties of a local government. Most importantly for the Germans, the councils acted as intermediaries to carry out the their increasingly oppressive dictates, such as providing forced labor battalions for German war factories, and eventually even delivering Jews directly to the trains bound for the death camps.

Obama's Jewish Ethnic Cleansing: US Goal to Expel Jews

Obama's relentless persecution of the Jews by way of a an anti-semitic approach to Israel reaches a fever pitch in the latest shot off the bow aimed at the tiny Jewish state.

The only "peace" the Muslims in Gaza, Judea, Samaria (Iran, Egypt, Saudi Arabia...) seek is the expulsion of the Jewish people from all of Israel. Islam considers all of Israel to be occupied land. The Philistines don't want a state. If they did, they could have had one. They would call a constitutional convention  ...write a governing document ....declare a nation. There is precedent. Trust me, no one would care.

"Palestinians" do not want their own country. They want Israel ........ Israel without Jews. "Palestinians" rejected a two state solution in 1917, 1937, 1948 and 2000.

State Dept: US Goal to Expel Jews in 'Occupied' Post-67 Lands

(Israelnationalnews.com) A top State Department official spelled out on Tuesday that the goal of the United States in its negotiations in the Middle East is to pressure Israel into expelling Jews from Judea and Samaria in order to "end the occupation that began in 1967."

William J. Burns, Under Secretary for Political Affairs, said in his address to the Middle East Institute Tuesday that he sees the U.S.mandate as one of "determined leadership" and that American must be straightforward about its intentions. 
 
"Our goal in the region is clear," he said, "two states living side by side in peace and security; a Jewish state of Israel, with which America retains unbreakable bonds, and with true security for all Israelis; and a viable, independent Palestinian state with contiguous territory that ends the occupation that began in 1967, that ends the daily humiliations of Palestinians under occupation, and that realizes the full and remarkable potential of the Palestinian people."

Although he made no mention of any demands upon the PA in order to achieve its goal of establishing a new Arab state within Israel's current borders, Burns was blunt about America's expectations of Israel.

"We do not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlements; we consider the Israeli offer to restrain settlement activity to be a potentially important step, but it obviously falls short of the continuing Roadmap obligation for a full settlement freeze," he said.

Further, he said, "We seek to deepen international support for the Palestinian Authority’s impressive plan to build over the next couple years the institutions that a responsible Palestinian state requires. And we also seek progress toward peace between Israel and Syria, and Israel and Lebanon, as part of a broader peace among Israel and all of its neighbors."

The highest ranking Foreign Service Officer in the United States, Burns served as Acting Secretary of State until the appointment of Hillary Rodham Clinton. He was the U.S. Ambassador to Jordan from 1998 to 2001, and as U.S. Ambassador to Russia from 2005 to 2008.

The Under Secretary's remarks came barely 24 hours after Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu met at the White House with President Barack Obama for talks grudgingly scheduled just hours before he flew to the U.S. on Sunday.

The two leaders were accompanied for some of the one hour and 40-minute meeting, held Monday night, by their respective administrative and security teams. On the agenda were the issues of the Iranian nuclear threat, the paralysis in Israel's negotiations with the PA, and the claim by PA Chairman Mahmoud Abbas that he will not run again for the leadership in PA elections on January 24.

Burns vowed the U.S. "will continue to work hard to bring about the early resumption of negotiations, which is the only path to the two state solution on which so much depends, not only for the future of Israelis and Palestinians, but for the entire Middle East."

"We have made limited headway," he claimed, " a shared understanding between the parties about a two-state objective; a shared interest in moving back to the negotiating table; wide international backing for this process; steady progress, in the face of very difficult odds, toward shaping reliable Palestinian security organizations and governmental institutions in the West Bank....

Meanwhile, the Sanhedrin – a Jerusalem-based organization of rabbis and Torah scholars seeking to renew the supreme Jewish court for the Jewish People in the form of a central Jewish-legal authoritative body – has issued an “injunction” to “prohibit the UN Security Council from discussing the Goldstone Report.”

A copy of the order has been sent to UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon, to the Rotating Chairman of the Security Council, and to Council members.

The Sanhedrin also calls for a revision of the UN Charter “and of the laws of war, with regard to the fight against terror organizations and terrorist states.”  Avoiding this responsibility, the Sanhedrin states, “nullifies the legitimacy of the United Nations as a fair and representative organization that seeks to bring peace, and defeats the purpose for which it was established.”  If a totally neutral investigative commission is not established, the Sanhedrin demands “steps to establish a new international framework to bring peace and resolve disputes, an organization that operates according to laws that reflect the vision of the prophets.”

The Sanhedrin echoes much of the public criticism that has been leveled against the Goldstone Commission, calling it “tainted by malicious politicization” in deliberately disregarding the long years of anti-Israel aggression and rocket attacks by “Hamas and other ‘Palestinian’ organizations.”

“The report does not relate to the serious scope of continuous violations of international law by the Palestinians,” the Sanhedrin states. “For that reason, we encourage the government of Israel not to allow itself to be called to judgment before hostile forums.”

Islamic Anti-Semitism: Turkey Bans Israel from Multi-National Military Drill

Formerly warm ties between Israel and Turkey have cooled considerably since Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was elected. Erdogan is not a secular Muslim, he's a Muslim, and Islamic anti-semitism is a mandate.  Read Dr. Bostom's The Legacy of Islamic Anti-Semitism.

He has made his position clear: "there is no moderate Islam". So much for Turkey's experiment with "secular" Islam (talk about wrestling with an oxymoron). Having been subdued throughout the twentieth century after the stunning defeat of the Ottoman Empire, Islam rises yet again.

The bottom line is that Islam is stuck on hate and imperialism. And if the forces of evil triumph and the EU accepts Turkey as a member, the final nail will be pounded into the coffin of the continent formerly known as Europe. Apart from the obvious cultural reasons for keeping Turkey out of the EU, incorporating a Muslim-majority country as large and poor as Turkey would adulterate European values and skew majority ranks. (Two-thirds of Europeans oppose membership, but there is no telling what will happen if the Lisbon Treaty gets ratified. Once nationals surrender their sovereignty, they no longer have a say in matters.)

Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has rejected attempts to call Turkey the representative of moderate Islam. "It is unacceptable for us to agree with such a definition. Turkey has never been a country to represent such a concept. Moreover, Islam cannot be classified as moderate or not," Erdoğan said, speaking at the Oxford Centre for Islamic Studies.

Turkey Forced to Cancel Drill After US, Italy Pull Out

(IsraelNN.com) A multinational military drill has reportedly been cancelled due to Turkey's unwillingness to allow the Israel Air Force to participate in the exercise.

The cancellation came after the United States and other nations allegedly withdrew from the joint drill following Turkey's ban on Israel's participation.

The air force exercise, which has been held five times since June 2001, was to be hosted by Ankara and originally involved Turkey, Italy, the U.S., NATO forces and the IAF.

But Turkish military officials informed the IDF last week that the IAF was not welcome to fly in this week's "Anatolian Eagle" exercise due to the use of its planes during Israel's counterterrorism Operation Cast Lead in Gaza last winter.

The operation was launched by Israel on December 27, 2008 to end the thousands of rocket attacks fired at civilians living in towns and cities in Israel's southern region. It lasted until Janary 20, 2009.

Anatolian Eagle was slated to begin Monday, October 12, and continue through October 23.

The Anatolian Eagle exercise, intended to improve international aerial cooperation, was hosted at the Konya air base, 250 kilometers south of Ankara. The aircraft trained over the plains of Anatolia (hence the name), near Turkey's borders with Syria, Iran and Iraq.

Israel and Turkey, which until last year enjoyed strong diplomatic, military and trade relations, have flown together over each other's territory in various joint military drills since the signing of a bilateral defense alliance between the two nations in 1996.

Formerly warm ties between Israel and Turkey have cooled considerably since Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan's harsh criticism of Israel's role in Operation Cast Lead.

Jerusalem: Muslims Stone Jews on Jewish Holiday

JERUSALEM, Oct. 5 (Xinhua) -- Violence continues in the Jerusalem holy site, known as al-Haram al-Sharif to Palestinians [Muslims]  or Temple Mount to Jews.

    Several people were arrested a week ago when clashes erupted on the mount and in the surrounding Old City after a group of visitors entered the compound. Palestinians [Muslims] objected, claiming the group comprised far-right Jews, while Israeli media reports said they were French tourists.

    Since then, tension has been high, with the Western Wall that lays alongside the mount the focus of Jewish prayers for this week's religious holiday, Sukkot (Tabernacles).

    At the end of last week, Palestinian [Muslim]  leaders warned that the current impasse in the peace process is leaving Palestinian [Muslim]feeling frustrated and violence may spread as a result.

About 150 Palestinians [Muslims] rioted near the site Sunday after police in Jerusalem closed the mount to Muslim worshippers and visitors. Police said they did so to minimize the possibility of violence after calls were issued in Palestinian media to "come and protect the Mount."

Palestinians [Muslims]  who had finished praying near the mount began to throw stones and bottles at police forces in the area Sunday, Rosenfeld said. Police dispersed the rioters and arrested three; one officer was slightly hurt, he said.

After the Muslims "finished praying," they began stoning the Jews. Get it? This is not a religion. Period.

(IsraelNN.com) The Temple Mount was closed to Jews Monday morning for the second day in a row during this holiday week of Sukkot, following an incident in which a group of some 50 Chassidim attempted to reach the Mount of Olives and were attacked by a mob of Arabs.

Male Arab worshipers above the age of 50, women of all ages and children are being allowed to continue to enter the site.

"They were lucky to escape with their lives," Israel Police spokesman Mickey Rosenfeld told Israel National News, adding that police would reassess the situation "in a few hours, once the Birkat HaKohanim (blessing of the priestly class on the People of Israel) is completed at the Kotel." He noted that the Temple Mount had been closed to Jews as a precaution "due to the security risks involved."

JERUSALEM – The Temple Mount does not exist alongside the Western Wall, and neither Jews nor Christians should be allowed to pray on the Mount site, Dimitri Diliani, the spokesman for Fatah in Jerusalem, told WND in an interview.

Fatah, once named by the U.S. as a Mideast "peace partner," is the party led by Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas. Diliani spoke hours after Fatah and PA officials were accused of inciting a riot on the Temple Mount, claiming Jews were threatening the site.

"Don't use the term Temple Mount," Diliani lectured WND. "It doesn't exist. I don't know where it is. I cannot see any Temple. Can you? No one can find any trace of it. The area you refer to is only a Muslim holy site."

The PA, though, has found evidence of Judaism's historic connection to the Mount – the holiest site in Judaism. The Waqf, the Islamic custodians of the Mount, conducted an unsupervised excavation on the site in 1997. At that time, the Waqf, working under the guidance of the PA, ultimately were caught by Israeli authorities disposing truckloads of Mount dirt that contained Jewish Temple artifacts. To this day, Israeli archeologists are still sifting through the large amount of dirt, in which scores of Jewish Temple relics were found.

Diliani did not deny Fatah and the PA were involved in yesterday's Temple Mount riots.

"Palestinian political factions, including Fatah, are firm on defending the political, national and religious rights of the Palestinian people," Diliani said, "and it's evident now we will continue defending the Al Aqsa Mosque as well as our rights in Jerusalem as a whole

More Proof of Jewish ownership of Israel -- as the world collectively yawns

And while we are at it, perhaps the Organization of the Islamic Conference can, as Bat Ye'or suggested, express its regrets for over a millennium of jihad wars, land expropriations, enslavements, and humiliations of the conquered non-Muslim populations on three continents.

Holy Temple Mikveh Discovered Near Western Wall

(IsraelNN.com) A 2,000-year-old mikveh (ritual bath) has been uncovered just 20 meters from the Western Wall.
Given its location just outside the Holy Temple - where untold numbers of Jews regularly immersed before entering - the newly-revealed pool is among the largest ever discovered in Jerusalem. 
The mikveh was found at the site known as the Western Wall Tunnels, which has long been under excavation and study by the Israel Antiquities Authority, with the support of the Western Wall Heritage Foundation.

It is located about 30 meters past the entrance to the Tunnels, in the general direction of the Western Wall. Once it becomes open to the public, the 11 broad steps leading down to the mikveh will be seen approximately 8 meters below floor level.

Josephus, the famous turncoat general and historian of the period, wrote that the administrative and governmental center of Jerusalem was located at the foot of the Temple, and that among the buildings there were the National Council and the Lishkat HaGazit, Chamber of Hewn Stone, where the Sanhedrin – Israel’s Supreme Court – convened. The archaeologists feel that it is possible that the luxurious hall aside the mikveh was originally one of these structures.
Archaeologist Alexander Ohn,  the director of the dig, explains: “It is interesting to note that in the middle of the first century, changes were made in the grand structure. It was no longer used for public administrative purposes, and in its western wall a large mikveh was installed – with 11 steps descending into the immersion pool. It appears that Jerusalem was growing at this time, and with it the need to provide a solution for the increasing numbers of people who came en masse to Jerusalem, especially on the pilgrimage festivals (Passover (Pesach), Pentecost (Shavuot), and Tabernacles (Sukkot)). Ritual immersion in a mikveh and precise observance of the laws of purity were an inseparable part of Jewish life at this time; the importance of a mikveh, especially in this location, was great.”
Parts of the mikveh had been uncovered in the past, but now another hall – one of three – has been revealed. The structure was built of smooth stone hewn in a particularly intricate manner, with high-quality decorations and architectural style. Its importance can be determined by the fact that it is similar to other luxurious structures built by King Herod such as the Temple Mount, the Machpelah Cave, and one in Elonei Mamreh.

Egyptian coins carrying the name of Joseph, the biblical patriarch whose arrival in Egypt as a slave eventually provided salvation for his family during decades of drought.

The report from the Middle East Media Research Institute said the coins with Joseph's name and image were found in a pile of unsorted artifacts that had been stored at the Museum of Egypt.
MEMRI, whh monitors and translates reports from Middle East publications and broadcasters, said the original report was in Egypt's Al Ahram newspaper in Cairo.
The newspaper said the discovery countered claims by some historians that coins were not used for trade in Egypt at the time the Bible records Joseph and the Israelites migrated there.
Those historians have argued that trade was done by barter.
But researchers told the newspaper the minting dates of the coins in the cache have been matched to the period in which Joseph was recorded to be in Egypt.
"A thorough examination revealed that the coins bore the year in which they were minted and their value, or effigies of the pharaohs [who ruled] at the time of their minting. Some of the coins are from the time when Joseph lived in Egypt, and bear his name and portrait," said the newspaper report.
The report carried an explanation of the discovery by a team involving researcher Sa'id Muhammad Thabet:
"Studies by  Dr. Thabet's team have revealed that what most archeologists took for a kind of charm, and others took for an ornament or adornment, is actually a coin. Several [facts led them to this conclusion]: first, [the fact that] many such coins have been found at various [archeological sites], and also [the fact that] they are round or oval in shape, and have two faces: one with an inscription, called the inscribed face, and one with an image, called the engraved face – just like the coins we use today," said the report.
The newspaper called the find "unprecedented" and said, "The researchers discovered the coins when they sifted through thousands of small archeological artifacts stored in [the vaults of] the Museum of Egypt."

Looks like the Egyptians owe the Jews a large debt in their rise and historical prominence, starting with Joseph, who was sold into slavery by his brothers.

US: 'Don't Go to Jerusalem's Old City During Sukkot!'

American officials have warned U.S. citizens not to enter Jerusalem's Old City during the week-long holiday of Sukkot, when celebrations are at their height and numerous activities for families and children are offered almost around the clock.

The warning by the U.S. State Department, issued on Friday, names Monday in particular as a day to avoid the spiritual heart of Israel's capital city -- the day when the Kohanim, or Jewish priestly class -- bless the People of Israel at the Kotel (Western Wall).

Thousands of Kohanim, Jewish men descended from members of the priestly class in the House of Israel, gather three times each year to perform the Birkat HaKohanim blessing on each festival day during which Jewish pilgrims are enjoined to "go up" to Jerusalem.

"The final two of the local autumn holidays, Sukkot and Simhat Torah, will be celebrated this weekend and next. American citizens should avoid the Old City for one week. Vehicle traffic in and around the Old City will be restricted by the Israeli National Police (INP)," reads the Warden Message from the U.S. State Department, dated October 2.

"Monday, October 5, is expected to draw the largest crowds due to the annual pilgrimage by Jewish worshipers who will assemble at the Western Wall for special prayers. Additionally, political and religious tensions are expected to be high in the areas immediately adjacent to the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound throughout this period. A large police presence in the area may provoke spontaneous violence in the form of civil unrest and police actions," the warning continues.

Just such a scenario almost became a reality Sunday morning, when Fatah-linked Islamic clerics on the Temple Mount issued a public call for Arabs to "come and defend the Mount."

The threat prompted Israeli police to cordon off the site in order to prevent a riot similar to the one ignited one week ago. Last Sunday, on the eve of Yom Kippur, the Jewish Day of Atonement, Arab worshipers started hurling rocks when Jews arrived on the Mount -- the holiest site in Judaism --  to prepare for the holiday. Four people, including two police officers, were wounded.

The warning concludes by informing readers that "the crowded environment could result in an uptick in criminal activity to include pickpockets, physical assaults and other crimes. American citizens should avoid crowds and walking or driving around the Old City. Carry a mobile phone and stay cognizant of your surroundings," the wary American is told.

As elsewhere on its site, the State Department failed to point out that the presence of the Israel Police is required in order to secure the safety of other people in the area -- tourists in the Old City, the Western Wall plaza and on the Temple Mount, as well as Jewish worshipers at the Wall.

A constant security presence has been necessary due to the long history of violence perpetrated by Arab worshippers at the mosque, a fact omitted by the State Department.

Moreover, in one alert posted on the State Department site, the U.S. government actually implies that it is the IDF that Americans must fear:

"American citizens have been seriously injured in demonstrations that have turned violent," U.S. citizens are warned. "Demonstrations can be particularly dangerous in areas such as checkpoints, settlements, military areas, and major thoroughfares where protesters are likely to encounter Israeli security forces."

The State Department has maintained a standard warning on its site against visiting Jerusalem. The warning, updated in August, "urges American citizens to remain vigilant while traveling through Jerusalem, especially within the commercial and downtown areas of West Jerusalem and the city center."

The Old City, it adds, is entirely off-limits to U.S. government personnel and their families after dark and "between the hours of 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. on Fridays," when it is noted that "Spontaneous or planned protests within the Old City are possible, especially after Friday prayers. Some of these protests have led to violent clashes." 

As in its other numerous warnings, the State Department carefully avoids publicizing the fact that the warning refers to the potential for violence by Arab worshippers, who pray on Fridays between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

US urges Israel to probe Gaza crimes to boost peace al-Reuters (hat tip Rut)

GENEVA, Sept 29 (Reuters) - The United States called on its close ally Israel on Tuesday to conduct credible investigations into allegations of war crimes committed by its forces in Gaza, saying it would help the Middle East peace process.

Michael Posner, U.S. Assistant Secretary of State, said that Hamas leaders also had a responsibility to investigate crimes and to end what he called its targeting of civilians and use of Palestinian civilians as human shields in the strip.

The U.N. Human Rights Council was holding a one-day debate on a recent report by Richard Goldstone, a South African jurist and former U.N. war crimes prosecutor.

His panel found the Israeli army and Palestinian militants committed war crimes and possibly crimes against humanity during their December-January war. Israel did not cooperate with the U.N. inquiry and has rejected the report as biased.

"We encourage Israel to utilise appropriate domestic (judicial) review and meaningful accountability mechanisms to investigate and follow-up on credible allegations," Posner said in a speech to the Geneva forum.

"If undertaken properly and fairly, these reviews can serve as important confidence-building measures that will support the larger essential objective which is a shared quest for justice and lasting peace," he said.

The Goldstone mission will go down in history as the 21st century’s equivalent to the Protocols of the Elders of Zion – a notorious work of fiction which spun a conspiratorial web of deceit and distortion that has fueled hatred of Jews ever since.

At its core, the Goldstone report repeats the ancient blood libel against the Jewish people – the allegation of bloodthirsty Jews intent on butchering the innocent. With this report the UN has come full circle. Rising from the Jewish ashes of crimes against humanity, it now purports to render the Jewish people’s exercise of the right of self-defence as itself a crime against humanity.
