DeWinter does battle with the leftist fascists. Atlas readers are familiar with these thugs when I covered the Anti-Islam rally in Cologne, Germany (a Jewish man who was beaten and kicked with steel toe boots - his account here).

German Neo-Nazis View Islamists as Allies (hat tip Andy Bostom)

When protesters in Cologne last month managed, with the blessing of the city government, to prevent the holding of an “Anti-Islamification Congress,” the cancellation of the event was widely hailed in the German and international media as a victory against “right-wing extremists” or, more simply put, “Nazis.” (See [1] here, for instance, from the English-language site of the German weekly Der Spiegel.)

[2] A new report from the domestic intelligence service of the German city-state of Hamburgshows, however, that actual neo-Nazi groups in Germany — i.e., groups that themselves embrace this description — in fact likewise opposed the “Anti-Islamification Congress” and are notably hostile to its sponsor, the “citizens’ movement” Pro-Cologne [Pro-Köln].

While the neo-Nazis agitate against what they describe as Germany’s “flooding by foreigners” — or “Überfremdung” — they take precautions against criticizing Islamic influences or Islam as such, since the latter is rather “to be seen as an ally.”

The preferred tactics of the “anti-fascist” Left are classically fascist in nature. Rather than engage in spirited debate, they prefer to silence their opponents on the Right by using social pressure, verbal harassment, intimidation, and — if necessary — violence.

This tactic was much in evidence when Filip Dewinter, the prominent Flemish politician from the party Vlaams Belang, was scheduled to participate in a debate at the University of Ghent on October 7th. The storm troopers of Antifa were called out to intercept him, and they violently blocked his access to the auditorium.

The “anti-fascists” were successful in their efforts: the debate was cancelled. But the refreshing news is that Filip Dewinter and his supporters did not hesitate to fight back.

The dedicated efforts of our Flemish correspondent VH have produced the following report on the events in Ghent, based on the Dutch-language news sources and blogs. First, a translation of an article in Het Laatste Nieuws:
Near the auditorium “Blandijn” of Ghent University, a violent uproar occurred before the start of a debate organized by the NSV (Nationalist Students Association). At the entrance of the building a violent confrontation occurred when Filip Dewinter of Vlaams Belang with a score of supporters tried to gain access.

Blows

A group of activists from left-wing student associations had blocked access and kept opponents outside with violence. Both sides then pushed and pulled and there were some blows exchanged.

Admission Rector

It was the first time that the rector had allowed the NSV to organize a debate on the premises of the university. The event was supposed to start at 8:00pm with a debate between Filip Dewinter and Jean-Marie Dedecker (LDD) about the cooperation between the Netherlands and Flanders. However, activists from left-wing student associations had blocked admission to the university building at 6:00pm.

The result? The US backs down and panders to the brutal warden of a 30 million person gulag who sells nuke weapons to Islamic rogue regime. We will remove North Korea from the terror list. The details of the “verification protocol” are still unclear. Now that's pathetic.

The failing North Korean nuclear deal appears to have been saved from collapse after the United States agreed to remove the isolated dictatorship from its list of terrorist states.

Judicial Watch Uncovers Documents Detailing Suspicious Illinois State Senate Earmarks by Barack Obama

You may recall last week I told you about Barack Obama's controversial Illinois State Senate earmark for the "Garden to Nowhere." By way of reminder, Obama secured a $100,000 grant for a former campaign volunteer to build a garden project called the Englewood Botanical Garden.

The project never happened and Obama's campaign volunteer, Kenny Smith, distributed $65,000 of the funds directly to his wife and another $20,000 to a construction company set up by his wife that is now no longer in business.

Well, this week we uncovered more evidence of suspicious Illinois State Senate earmarks by Obama, including one $25,000 grant for his wife's cousin. Here are a few of the details from Judicial Watch's documents obtained through the Illinois Freedom of Information Act:

Blue Gargoyle: Barack Obama helped secure a $25,000 grant for Blue Gargoyle in August 2000, an organization that was headed by Capers C. Funnye, Jr., Michelle Obama's first cousin once removed.

Community of St. Sabina: Obama helped secure a $100,000 grant for the Community of St. Sabina in July 2000, a church headed by Father Michael Pfleger, a controversial and radical Catholic priest and Obama campaign contributor. Pfleger made news in March 2008, for mocking then-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton from the pulpit of Trinity United Church of Christ, formerly run by Obama's personal pastor the Reverend Jeremiah Wright.

FORUM: Run by Yesse Yehudah, Barack Obama gave a $75,000 grant to the organization in 2000. Although Yehudah ran against Obama in a 1998 election, five people from FORUM donated $1000 to Obama's campaign after receiving the grant. FORUM also contributed another $5,000 to help pay Obama's debt after he failed to be elected to congress in 2000. In 2002, Illinois sued Yehudah for failure to account for hundreds of thousands of dollars he received from Obama's grant.

These earmarks, especially the one related to his wife's cousin, Rabbi Funnye, raise serious ethical questions. From documents obtained from only one state agency, we were able to figure out that Obama was responsible for over $3 million in earmarks from 1999-2002. Not exactly pocket change, especially when this taxpayer money is used to take care of your family and campaign contributors.

Some of these earmarks suggest that Barack Obama may have abused his office in the Illinois State Senate. We have yet to hear major media outlets ask Obama why he earmarked money for his wife's cousin.

This is the first time in my life where I will vote for a Republican for president. And it's not because of Obama (though, he is a contributing factor); it is instead because of the Democrats' missing the point.

1) In 2006, they shunned Lieberman, who was the only vocal supporter in his party of a strong national defense

Today Mac asked his supporters to be respectful of Obama, that he is a "good man", and can be trusted to run the country responsibly. You could have heard a pin drop in the once fired up crowd. He sounded like he was conceding the race.

I'm sorry to report this but its true- I watched it in total disbelief. This to me is worse than the polls. Maybe he's out of steam. The dems have been proclaiming landslide victory all day. We need a miracle.

Regarding the question of which candidate they would vote for if they could, respondents voted overwhelmingly for Obama in every country polled, with the exception of the United States, where Republican John McCain was preferred over Democrat Obama by a narrow margin.

"It's Obama by a landslide -- except in the country in which he's actually running for president," said John Fredricks, Director of Polling for Reader's Digest. "What is most striking is the margin of his support."

In the Netherlands [the Dutch City of Gouda is being terrorized by Muslim Jihadis] , Obama-mania surpassed 90 percent. -- Anti-American sentiment was highest among Indonesia, Netherlands and
Spain, although U.S. neighbors Mexico and Canada expressed it as well.

In response to a question about whether respondents would like to move to the United States, the French expressed strong interest, as did 73% of respondents in India. In Canada, only about 25% expressed an interest in relocating, while in Mexico, the nation that sends the most immigrants to the United States, one-third said they'd want to move there. French novelist Philippe Laibro hypothesized in the article that "the legend remains. America is still that land of the second chance, of multiple opportunities, where anyone can succeed."

Obama’s friend Madeline Talbott described it best when she wrote in November 2000 that with Thomas’s victory “we (acorn) had elected one of our own.” Perhaps Senator Obama should explain what led him to endorse the Acorn candidate.

Another case of gross voter fraud: Indiana has received 5,000 voter registration cards from ACORN and all cards were fraudulent. This is added to the charges being made in Las Vegas, Missouri, and Ohio.

Over at The Weekly Standard:

The Cleveland Leader reports this morning that Barack Obama is lying about his involvement with the group ACORN, which recently added Missouri to the list of states in which its activities are under investigation. While Obama's site maintains that he never trained ACORN activists -- whose training apparently encourages them to play fast and loose with election laws -- Chicago ACORN leader Toni Foulkes has thanked Obama for doing precisely that:

Since then, we have invited Obama to our leadership training sessions to run the session on power every year, and, as a result, many of our newly developing leaders got to know him before he ever ran for office. Thus it was natural for many of us to be active volunteers in his first campaign for STate Senate and then his failed bid for U.S. Congress in 1996. By the time he ran for U.S. Senate, we were old friends."

The Los Angeles Times has reported the same. Given all the improprieties with which ACORN has been associated in the past, as well as the accusations against it this year, it's easy to see why Obama hopes the media will ignore this issue.

These are your taxpayer dollars being used to systematically destroy the American way, the will of the American people. Nothing could render your vote meaningless except this. Remember Obambi and co. wanted to give these traitors 200 million TAX PAYER dollars of the bailout of the failed Democrat-Blame-Need-not-Greed.

Jerome Corsi is back from Kenya and he confirms everything I have been reporting about Obama and Odinga since January 2008. Obama supported a vicious killer to overthrow the duly elected President of Kenya. The Odinga strategy exploited "anti-Kikuyu sentiments," clearly a racial strategy aimed at inflaming long-standing tribal animosity to gain electoral advantage for Odinga".

Why would Obama support the exploitation of ethnic violence and murder? To further his own career? To position himself to "save the day"? Sen. Barack Obama designated a personal aide as his direct contact for the 2007 Kenyan presidential campaign of Raila Odinga, who later was appointed prime minister after his election loss was followed by widespread, deadly violence that destroyed or damaged 800 Christian churches, according to e-mails obtained by WND senior staff writer Jerry Corsi during a trip to Kenya.

I said to my kids yesterday on the way to shul, "girls, pray that Israel is not attacked today".They love to attack the Jewish people when we are praying. My number three said, Mom Israel is seven hours ahead so I think we're cool. I was relieved. I was wrong. When I logged on and saw Arabs and Jews Clash on Yom Kippur in Akko, I was agitated. Hoping it was an isolated Islamic temper tantrum doing their Nazi dance of death.

Police, representatives of Akko City Hall and local Arab leaders managed to end the clashes, but the violence continued as Arabs heading back to their neighborhoods ran riot through Jewish areas of the city. Calling "Death to the Jews" and Allah hu akbar ("Allah is great"), the rioters vandalized hundreds of Jewish-owned shops and vehicles, and threw rocks at people on their way to or from Yom Kippur prayers.

Israeli police have decided to play down the seriousness of the outbreak in the mixed northern town of Acre, which began with a noisy Arab motorist speeding through a Jewish street on Yom Kippur Eve, Oct. 8 and ended with an Arab mob screaming "Itbakh al Yahoud" (Slaughter the Jews) as they smashed and looted Jewish shops.

The ancient town of some 60,000 souls (of which one-third are Arabs) on Israel's Mediterranean coast north of Haifa had settled down Wednesday night to pray and fast on the Jewish Day of Atonement, on which vehicular traffic customarily stops all over Israel, when a car driven by an Arab resident hurtled at high speed down a mostly-Jewish street on the eastern side of the town.

Witnesses reported that pedestrians fled in panic from its path. The driver refused requests to turn down his blaring radio, whereupon a group of Jewish youths smashed his car windows. He parked, ran into one of the houses and pelted the crowd outside with household objects and curses.

Fifteen minutes later, four more cars drove up packed with Arab youths. They careened around the predominantly Jewish neighborhood shouting "Allah is Great" and "Death to the Jews." Meanwhile hundreds of young Arabs swarmed through Acre's main thoroughfare, Ben-Ami Street, smashing and looting hundreds of Jewish shops. They overturned parked cars and knocked over traffic lights, Hebrew signboards and fences.

The police failed to intervene.

That is the most disturbing. Jewicidal.

Dudi Cohen, ordered roadblocks set up to divide the mostly Jewish eastern side from the Arab western districts of the town (a UNESCO-designated World Heritage Site for its rare antiquities)in the same way as he dismissed the earlier bulldozer attacks in Jerusalem as the work of lone individuals.

Dudi Cohen should be summarily fired and rehired in the same position for the PA.

At the same time, the forces of law and order tensely awaited the Friday sermons at the mosques and went on alert nationwide, both actions implicitly belying his message that the incident was “local” and Jews were equally at fault for causing it.

But the message was quickly interpreted by Arab lawbreakers as meaning they had a good chance of going scot free, which is a sure guarantee that the outbreaks will spread and “Itbakh al Yahud” – heard in the Hebron pogroms of 1929 and again in 1947 – will again ring out in the Israeli streets of 2008.

They will find encouragement in the failure of any Israeli in authority to reprimand them or bring them to book. Not a word of any kind has come from the caretaker prime minister, Ehud Olmert, or his would-be successor Tzipi Livni, both whom obviously have more important fish to fry.

I would expel every single one. Or jail. Either one works for lovers of freedom and civilized men.

Doesn't this mean they have to give McCain the same opportunity? Equal time during elections - that's the law. The Democrats and their proxy, the media, have little use for the law - the end justifies their means.

GEORGETOWN, Ohio, Oct 9 (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama's campaign has purchased a half-hour slot on prime-time television on Oct. 29, six days before the U.S. election, a campaign official said on Thursday.

The campaign has deals with CBS and NBC to run the special, while Fox will also air it if the network is not broadcasting a baseball World Series game that day, Obama senior adviser Linda Douglass said.

She said the campaign was negotiating with other networks to run the half-hour program, but declined to say how much the total budget was for the purchases.

A network executive who declined to be named said that amount of time during prime time would cost about $1 million to $1.5 million.

Obama, who faces Republican John McCain in the Nov. 4 election, has outstripped his rival in fundraising, bolstered by his decision not to take public funds and thereby avoiding federal spending limits.

Obama, who has made the financial crisis the central theme of his campaign, declined to say whether the date of his television special -- the 79th anniversary of the catastrophic 1929 stock market crash -- was significant.

The Community Reinvestment Act funnels billions to left-wing activists, while threatening to destabilize lower-middle-class neighborhoods.

The Clinton administration has turned the Community Reinvestment Act, a once-obscure and lightly enforced banking regulation law, into one of the most powerful mandates shaping American cities—and, as Senate Banking Committee chairman Phil Gramm memorably put it, a vast extortion scheme against the nation's banks. Under its provisions, U.S. banks have committed nearly $1 trillion for inner-city and low-income mortgages and real estate development projects, most of it funneled through a nationwide network of left-wing community groups, intent, in some cases, on teaching their low-income clients that the financial system is their enemy and, implicitly, that government, rather than their own striving, is the key to their well-being.

The CRA's premise sounds unassailable: helping the poor buy and keep homes will stabilize and rebuild city neighborhoods. As enforced today, though, the law portends just the opposite, threatening to undermine the efforts of the upwardly mobile poor by saddling them with neighbors more than usually likely to depress property values by not maintaining their homes adequately or by losing them to foreclosure. The CRA's logic also helps to ensure that inner-city neighborhoods stay poor by discouraging the kinds of investment that might make them better off.

The Act, which Jimmy Carter signed in 1977, grew out of the complaint that urban banks were "redlining" inner-city neighborhoods, refusing to lend to their residents while using their deposits to finance suburban expansion. CRA decreed that banks have "an affirmative obligation" to meet the credit needs of the communities in which they are chartered, and that federal banking regulators should assess how well they do that when considering their requests to merge or to open branches. Implicit in the bill's rationale was a belief that CRA was needed to counter racial discrimination in lending, an assumption that later seemed to gain support from a widely publicized 1990 Federal Reserve Bank of Boston finding that blacks and Hispanics suffered higher mortgage-denial rates than whites, even at similar income levels.

In addition, the Act's backers claimed, CRA would be profitable for banks. They just needed a push from the law to learn how to identify profitable inner-city lending opportunities. Going one step further, the Treasury Department recently asserted that banks that do figure out ways to reach inner-city borrowers might not be able to stop competitors from using similar methods—and therefore would not undertake such marketing in the first place without a push from Washington.

None of these justifications holds up, however, because of the changes that reshaped America's banking industry in the 1990s. Banking in the 1970s, when CRA was passed, was a highly regulated industry in which small, local savings banks, rather than commercial banks, provided most home mortgages. Regulation prohibited savings banks from branching across state lines and sometimes even limited branching within states, inhibiting competition, the most powerful defense against discrimination. With such regulatory protection, savings banks could make a comfortable profit without doing the hard work of finding out which inner-city neighborhoods and borrowers were good risks and which were not. Savings banks also had reason to worry that if they charged inner-city borrowers a higher rate of interest to balance the additional risk of such lending, they might jeopardize the protection from competition they enjoyed. Thanks to these artificially created conditions, some redlining of creditworthy borrowers doubtless occurred.

NORTH KOREA EXPELS UN NUKE INSPECTORS, TEST LAUNCH IMMINENT

More successful aggressive diplomacy, eh - "aggressive diplomacy" is Obambi's calling card the very essense his Obama's foreign policy positions. The United Nations nuclear agency says North Korea has completely banned its inspectors from the country's main Yongbyon nuclear complex.
This is the country that Condhimmi wanted to remove from the terrorism black list - if not the NORKS, then who?

In a statement Thursday, the International Atomic Energy Agency said that it would no longer have access to Yongbyon. It also said North Korea would no longer allow inspectors to monitor or verify any of its nuclear activities. (more here)

North Korea Warns of Possible Naval Clash With South Korea

VIENNA/SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea deployed more than 10 missiles on its west coast apparently for an imminent test launch, a South Korean newspaper said on Thursday, and Pyongyang halted U.N. monitoring of its nuclear complex.

The potentially destabilizing moves followed reports that the United States had offered to remove North Korea from its terrorism blacklist this month in an effort to keep a nuclear disarmament pact from falling apart.

It would be an unprecedented test if North Korea fired all 10 of the surface-to-ship and ship-to-ship missiles. Intelligence sources quoted by the Chosun Ilbo paper said they thought the North may launch five to seven of them.

North Korea has forbidden ships to sail in an area in the Yellow Sea until October 15 in preparation for the launch, an intelligence source told the paper.

A South Korean defense ministry official declined to comment on the report but said the government had no indication of unusual activity in the North.

The United States urged North Korea not to do anything, including launching missiles, that would make matters worse. "We would urge North Korea to avoid any steps that increase tension on the peninsula," State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said.
