But hell, if America has to pick up the tab for every failed Democrat designed bank mess, automotive company blah blah blah, then why not reap the profits of successful socialist leaning companies while keeping them honest at the same time? :)

Unlike Bush's 'Google Bomb,' Google Quickly Defuses Obama's FOX NEWS

A Google search of 'miserable failure' now returns Web sites about the Googlebombs rather than the original pages that were returned.

It took four years for Google to address the "Google bomb" that was lobbed at former President Bush. But it took the Internet behemoth only a few days to defuse the same attack on President Obama.

Four years versus a few days ... Some Googlers are asking why.

In 2003, President Bush's detractors successfully gamed the Google search engine by arranging to have countless Web sites link the words "miserable failure" to Bush's official biography on the White House Web site. The result was that when someone typed the search term "miserable failure" into the Google search box, Bush's bio rose to the top of the search results.

And that's how it stayed until 2007, when Google developed an algorithm to detect what became known as "Google bombs" and re-directed the term "miserable failure" to non-political pages.

Unfortunately for Obama, "miserable failure" reverted back to his bio when he moved into the White House. The new president was also Google-bombed with the phrase "cheerful achievement."

But this time, Google stepped in quickly, rectifying the situation in a few days, instead of four years.

The difference in time did not go unnoticed.

"You let this go on for the entire Bush administration," a reader named w3bgrrl wrote on a Google blog. "But since you bought the White House for Obama, you don't want your candidates harmed … And your claims not withstanding, even liberals know you're liberal."

But another writer, Mikkel deMib Svendsen, gave Google the benefit of the doubt. "I do think many of [Google employees] are liberals but I am also 100% confident that the large majority of them are also very professional people that take the job of creating a good and unbiased search engine very, very seriously," he wrote.

Google itself said the reason it took only a few days to redirect Obama's Google bomb was that, this time, it already had the algorithm in place.

"Though the spirit of change may be in the air in Washington, some things apparently stay the same," Google software engineer Matt Cutts wrote on a Google blog. "After we became aware of this latest Googlebomb, we re-ran our algorithm and it detected the Googlebomb for [cheerful achievement] as well as for [failure]. As a result, those search queries now return discussion about the Google bombs, rather than the original pages that were returned."

Google’s practice of dressing up their logo to commemorate selective holidays has generated much speculation about the company’s politics. Some have suggested that Google’s yearly tributes to holidays like France’s Bastille Day, Earth Day, and the Persian New Year, and ignoring of holidays like Memorial Day, Christmas and Flag Day, indicates a decidedly anti-American and anti Judeo-Christian stance.

In an effort to counter these rumors, Google yesterday presented several new logo treatments the company is considering for some key holidays.

UPDATE: Hmmm, Muslim google may not be google. But would those tools over at google have the balls to sue? Never.

GOOGLE BAN UPDATE: FULL ON ATLAS

Thought you might like an update on the Google Atlas ban first posted here. Atlas Shrugs: "SANDBOXED"/ BLACKLISTED BY GOOGLE on November 27

How does Atlas grow? Google search is one critically important way. People find Atlas when they do a word search in google ie "Obama birth certificate", "Obama odinga", "honor killings", "Obama campaign finance fraud" - stories that I broke or did groundbreaking work on and Atlas is usually in the top five of the search results. That's how folks find my work and generally I keep 15-20% of them as return readers. Regular Atlas readers know the media refuses to cover these stories - building readership is the only way to boost awareness in this increasingly dangerous world.

A couple of days ago I was wiped off google search pages. Yes, if you google Pamela Geller or Atlas Shrugs, I come up, that is not the issue. My work is not there, it does not come up in google's s

After Chelsea Schilling,  the intrepid journalist at WND picked up the story  there was a short term lift, a partial ban so to speak.

Just so you know, the ban is back, full on. Any google search referrals (sans google image searches) has all but disappeared. Perhaps this is at work: GOOGLE ADMITS TO CENSORSHIP.

Google cranks up the Consensus Engine The Register hat tip N47

Google this week admitted that its staff will pick and choose what appears in its search results. It's a historic statement - and nobody has yet grasped its significance.

THEY PICK AND CHOOSE?

Not so very long ago, Google disclaimed responsibility for its search results by explaining that these were chosen by a computer algorithm. The disclaimer lives on at Google News, where we are assured that:

The selection and placement of stories on this page were determined automatically by a computer program. A few years ago, Google's apparently unimpeachable objectivity got some people very excited, and technology utopians began to herald Google as the conduit for a new form of democracy. Google was only too pleased to encourage this view. It explained that its algorithm "relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual page's value. "

That Google was impartial was one of the articles of faith. For if Google was ever to be found to be applying subjective human judgment directly on the process, it would be akin to the voting machines being rigged.

For these soothsayers of the Hive Mind, the years ahead looked prosperous. As blog-aware marketing and media consultants, they saw a lucrative future in explaining the New Emergent World Order to the uninitiated. (That part has come true - Web 2.0 "gurus" now advise large media companies).

It wasn't surprising, then, that when five years ago I described how a small, self-selected number of people could rig Google's search results, the reaction from the people doing the rigging was violently antagonistic. Who lifted that rock? they cried.

But what was once Googlewashing by a select few now has Google's active participation.

This week Marissa Meyer explained that editorial judgments will play a key role in Google searches. It was reported by Tech Crunch proprietor Michael Arrington - who Nick Carr called the "Madam of the Web 2.0 Brothel" - but its significance wasn't noted. The irony flew safely over his head at 30,000 feet. Arrington observed:

Mayer also talked about Google’s use of user data created by actions on Wiki search to improve search results on Google in general. For now that data is not being used to change overall search results, she said. But in the future it’s likely Google will use the data to at least make obvious changes. An example is if “thousands of people” were to knock a search result off a search page, they’d be likely to make a change. Now what, you may be thinking, is an "obvious change"? Is it one that is frivolous? (Thereby introducing a Google Frivolitimeter™ [Beta]). Or is it one that goes against the grain of the consensus? If so, then who decides what the consensus must be? Make no mistake, Google is moving into new territory: not only making arbitrary, editorial choices - really no different to Fox News, say, or any other media organization. It's now in the business of validating and manufacturing consent: not only reporting what people say, but how you should think.

GOOGLE RESPONDS TO WND INQUIRY, PARTIALLY

Chelsea Schilling, the intrepid journalist at WND that did the article on my Google ban,   contacted Google about the “sandboxing” issue, and this is what they said:

Needless to say,  I have no idea what kind of violation they are talking about' NONE. They told me nothing.I asked Schilling if she could dig deeper and find out what violation.

UPDATE: But my google search box is still blacklisted. Try it (right sidebar)  - search any term FORBIDDEN!

"And by the way, you should know that when one enters a search term in the box, and press ENTER -twice- then it finds the pages. This is because the first time it is from your site, so it gets blocked and a page from google's site says forbidden. After that it's the same URL, doing the same search on/through your site, but no longer from your site's webpage, so it works (any number of times when not done from your site). You are still blacklisted, and by removing the search box you have removed some of the evidence that she was!!!!!

(it may be that this is a misinterpretation, but I doubt it. Google did claim that you violated their TOS, so I think you're right that the search box failing is their work. Things went down simultaneously for you, due to actions at Google's end)

users can still use the search if they press enter twice.. once and they get the error. then click Go and it will bring results.  Because the second time they are doing it from Google's page not your page.

it's a technical measure google took against you, not a particularly intelligent one, but it is damaging and bad and you should keep the evidence up. That will also pressure them to put it right.

Is Google censoring anti-Obama stories?

Pamela Geller of Atlas Shrugs claims the search engine giant has banned her groundbreaking articles about Obama – a technique many people refer to as "sandboxing."

"There was no warning, no notice, nothing," Geller told WND. "They have basically sandboxed me."

"Sandboxing" happens when Google strips a website's rankings from its search engine results. According to some theories, this happens to new websites when Google puts them into a holding area known as a "sandbox" until the site gains credibility.

However, Atlas Shrugs is not new, and Geller believes her stories have been intentionally suppressed by the Internet giant – especially ones about President-elect Obama. She said her exclusive stories about Obama's birth certificate that once received thousands of hits every day will not come up in Google word searches.

"I was in the top five search results before the story got legs," she said. "These stories drove 12,000 to 15,000 people to my site every day."

But now a November earnings report from shows her Google clicks and revenue flat lining since Nov. 20. Daily page impressions dropped from an average of 20,000 and 45,000 to single digits – overnight. Also, her Google images hits are slowed to only 4,720 since that day, while Yahoo and other search engines list them in the hundreds of thousands.

"The media gives blogs the silent treatment," she said. "The only thing we have is these searches. The Google word search is gone – all gone. When you are in my business, that's how you build readership."

On July 4, Geller featured a story about a board-certified forensic expert who declared Obama's online birth certificate a "forgery" and an "obvious fake." She attributes most of her problems with Google to that report.

"I think that it's the birth certificate story," Geller said. "All of the sudden, my numbers were down by 10,000."

She has also featured reports on Obama's support of Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga and cases of alleged campaign finance fraud involving his campaign. Geller believes Google is censoring her stories because it objects to their content.

"It's a freedom of speech issue," she said. "Who are they to decide what should be searched? They don't like what I'm running so they ban me?"

Geller said she has contacted Google three times, and the company said it has filed "requests for consideration" to put her stories back on Google's search pages.

"They want me to sit this out for six months," she said. "Are they kidding? Based on what?"

Geller said the top Google word searches used to be about Obama's birth certificate. But now she said the searches only return "a bunch of speculating and hearsay" to make the stories appear to be unfounded conspiracy theories.

She believes the censorship could have something to do with Google CEO Eric Schmidt's relationship with the president-elect. According to recent reports, Schmidt will soon be holding a position in the Obama administration.

Geller said she has hired a cyber-crime consulting firm to remove her articles from the search engine's "sandbox" and has asked her readership to help fight censorship with donations.

"Google cannot arbitrarily silence voices of freedom," she said. "Blogs are the last vestige of free speech."

Further my google search box (left sidebar) which I use almost constantly to search my site for reasearch (as do my readers) has been dramtically affaected. Input any term, any word in my search box and the same thing comes up - FORBIDDEN.

I have had to hire a separate security/consulting firm to get me back online. It is costly.  I need your help. Anything you could contribute to help offset the cost - it's a lot of hours would be greatly appreciated.

THE GOOGLE OBAMA CONNECTION:

Owen Thomas, editor of the Silicon Valley gossip blog Valleywag, has penned a reasoned argument as to how Google is winning political influence in the wake of this month's presidential election. In the column he wrote, he takes a sharp-tongued look at how CEO Eric Schmidt appears to be trying to win and use influence in the new Washington.

Schmidt is savvy enough to realize that YouTube's growing prominence as a media outlet could help the company become a larger political player -- which is why the site sponsored two campaign debates. Traffic? Come on. YouTube hardly needs the help.

Thomas concludes:

In that light, isn't there something that stinks about handing the president's weekly addresses to a single commercial outlet controlled by a political ally of the president? Obama's YouTube chats amount to a large, unspoken, behind-the-scenes government kickback. Every election has something dirty about it. And there's no question Google won this contest.

UPDATE: Google CEO Could Be Obama's Tech Advisor

Rumor has it that Google CEO Eric Schmidt will be occupying the newly-formed tech advisor position to the president of the United States. Barack Obama created this position just shortly before visiting the Google headquarters during his campaign, and some believe that the reason this happened was because the job was promised to Schmidt.

The head of Google endorsed the Democratic candidate throughout the elections, though the ads the company posted on various sites were mostly Republican. However, Google employees donated far more to Obama's campaign than they did for John McCain – about $487,355, and $20,600 respectively, as estimated by the Wall Street Journal.

Me thinks it was the birth certificate story .... I broke it. I have the forensics.

After checking the online support site, I found out there is NO WAY to access information on WHY a site has been deemed "Forbidden" or HOW to get the problem corrected.

     I phoned google again. The young "no named" woman stated that NO PERSON handles the problem, and NO ONE would take my call. When I told her I had been to the support site, and there was NO WAY to get info or support there, she stated that was my ONLY option.

     The rest of the conversation was something like this:
Me: Someone had to have made a conscious decision to label the info on the Atlas site "Forbidden"
She: I don't know who that person would be, I cannot release any "name" information, and if there is no support online, than there is no support, we don't do "tech" support, and there is no one I can transfer you to who does "tech" support.
Me: Someone made the decision to label the site info "Forbidden", who do I contact to straighten this out?
She: I cannot give you any other information. I don't have any one to transfer you to. Me: So if a site has been labeled "Forbidden", then that decision has been handed down, and there is nothing else that can be done?
She: I would guess so.

As someone who works at a very large software company myself, this news makes me shudder. It has Fascism written all over it and further solidifies my belief that Obama will hijack the internet itself if allowed to come to power. Please take a look at this article..people need to know what Google is about, espeically people in the tech industry. As a long time employee at a very large software company, this news gave me more than pause. PEOPLE MUST know about the dangerous territory into which Obama will lead this nation.  I can't imagine what I'd do if my company started working for the government. But it could happen, especially if the economy tanks to such an extent that only a deal with the devil will ensure survival AND especially since Obama plans to increasingly involve areas of the private sector in government, for government.

So the main - but largely ignored - news is that Google's CEO, Eric Schmidt, has announced that he is endorsing Obama for president.

Schmidt will appear Tuesday with Obama in the tightly contested state of Florida to talk about the economy. Although Schmidt announced his backing of Obama in Monday's Wall Street Journal, he has been advising the campaign on technology and clean-energy issues for most of the summer.

My apologies to NE readers; Apparently a wave of Obama supporters has “flagged” the Neocon Express as a “spam” sight and have successfully shut us down until Google’s Blogger programmers can confirm that we are not a spam site. The process apparently takes about 48 hours.

Apparently, this is a glitch in the ‘Blogger’ system which allows anyone on the net to “flag” any Blogger site as a spam site. With enough “flags” they can shut down a site until Google manually inspects the site to confirm it’s a legitimate blog and not automated spam. Unfortunately, Obama supporters have been abusing this method which was designed to filter out real net spammers, and have been systematically flagging high profile “anti-Obama” blogs on the vast ‘Blogger’ system as “spam” in order to shut down debate.

I'm always asked: "Why are the milblogs important?"  Well we can see the reason why. We get the message out!  We can not allow others to dictate the form or content of the message.  The message must always be the truth, whether they want to hear it or not. 

Regardless of the outcome with Google's review, The Thunder Run is now in the process of purchasing a domain and finding seperate hosting services...I suggest anyone else that uses Blogger to do the same, its something I should have done a long time ago.

The bloggers in question, most of them supporters of Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton, and all of them opposed to Senator Obama, received a notice from Google last week saying that their sites had been identified as potential “spam” blogs. “You will not be able to publish posts to your blog until we review your site and confirm that it is not a spam blog,” the Google e-mail read.

Many of the bloggers were affiliated with JustSayNoDeal.com, a Web site that opposes Senator Obama. They include http://bluelyon.blogspot.com, http://comealongway.blogspot.com, http://hillaryorbust.blogspot.com and http://mccaindemocrats.blogspot.com.

In an article that appeared on Bloggasm.com, the reporter Simon Owens spoke with some of the affected bloggers, who said they believed that Google had fallen prey to a campaign by activists supporting Senator Obama. According to the bloggers, the Obama supporters had clicked on a “flag” on the anti-Obama blogs alerting Google that they were spam.

If so, that would be an embarrassment for Google. On its Web page explaining the “flag” feature, Google says that “it can’t be manipulated by angry mobs. Political dissent? Incendiary opinions? Just plain crazy? Bring it on.”

Google Shuts Down Anti-Obama Sites on its Blogger Platform hat tip JJ

It looks like Google has officially joined the Barack Obama campaign and decided that its contribution would be to shut down any blog on the Google owned Blogspot.com blogging system that has an anti-Obama message. Yes, it sure seems that Google has begun to go through its many thousands of blogs to lock out the owners of anti-Obama blogs so that the noObama message is effectively squelched. Thus far, Google has terminated the access by blog owners to 7 such sites and the list may be growing. Boy, it must be nice for Barack Obama to have an ally powerful enough to silence his opponents like that!

It isn't just conservative sites that Google's Blogger platform is eliminating. For instance, www.comealongway.blogspot.com has been frozen and this one is a Hillary supporting site. The operator of Come a Long Way has a mirror site off the Blogspot platform and has today posted this notice:

It turns out that there is an interesting pattern where it concerns the blogs that Google's Blogspot team have summarily locked down on their service. They all belong to the Just Say No Deal coalition, a group of blogs that are standing against the Obama campaign. It seems the largest portion of these blogs are Hillary supporting blogs, too.

All I can say is, WOW! If Google is willing to abuse its power like this even against fellow leftists, what does it plan against conservatives, the folks Google hates even more!?

I know that it’s beyond expecting Google to celebrate anything except that which is negative to America, so I don’t expect them to memorialize our troops on memorial day. Yahoo has. Ask.com has. Even Dogpile has.

But Google has not. In fact it has yet to ever recognize anything except leftist causes. While I can’t influence Google’s editorial decision I can control whether I give their spots face time on this blog. Since this blog averages 30,000 hits a day I believe that the best way I can show my displeasure for their oversight, is to remove their ads.

If you have a website, blog, and you’re tired of watching Google disrespect the troops I ask you in the spirit of patriotism and for the memory of those who have fallen to remove your associations from Google as well.

Perhaps they will get the message and perhaps they won’t, but I don’t care. They paid next to nothing for their adsense program - if they paid at all.

So on this memorial day how about passing it around and following my example.

Morocco Arrests 23, Including Manar Correspondent, Over Terror Plot hat tip rut

An investigation by the judicial authorities led to the sweep Monday in the capital Rabat.

A security source told Agence France Presse several arms were seized during the raids.

A report by the state-run news agency MAP identified only three suspects: Mustapha Moatassim, the secretary general of a small, legal Islamist party, Al Badil Al Hadari, Mohammed Merouani who heads the illegal Umma Party and the alleged group ringleader Abdelkader Balliraj.

The report said those arrested had ties to radical Islam. It did not specify what type of plots the alleged terror group had been planning.

Police said they had probed "the ramifications and connections of the network with others active in Morocco and abroad."

Google, Ally of Tyrannical Regimes

The Fantastic people at google seem to have it for the egyptian opposition to the Mubarak regime. It's not bad enough that they had disabled Wael Abbas' youtube account with all the egyptian police human rights abuses and torture videos (only to have it restored again when the outrage became too big), now they have made the website for Kefaya (the egyptian movement for change), which has beena round for 3 years and very active, disappear completely off of their search engine. You can't find it anywhere. Gemy alerted me to the story when he tried all possible combinations : Kefaya, Harakmasria, everything, in english and in arabic. Nothing on google. Websites that talk about Kefaya show up but not the actual website or any of its Cache. This is not the case with yahoo for example as you can see for yourself. So the question now is, what kind of a deal did Google make with the egyptian regime to remove this site from its results page. I mean, we were understandable when it came to China, but is Google now officially the friend of every tyrannical regime in the world now? Is that what google now is about?

I don't want to think so, but the evidence to the contrary is overwhelming.

The satellite photographs show in detail the buildings inside the bases and vulnerable areas such as tented accommodation, lavatory blocks and where lightly armoured Land Rovers are parked ...

"This is evidence as far as we are concerned for planning terrorist attacks," said an intelligence officer with the Royal Green Jackets battle group. "Who would otherwise have Google Earth imagery of one of our bases?

And what is Orkut?

Orkut groups which were serving these Google Ads were set up by Hezbollah, Iraqi insurgent and other terror oriented groups. The following is an example of one of the hundreds of terror oriented groups within Orkut serving AdWords ads from probably unaware Google advertisers.

The city's comptroller, William Thompson Jr., is using the muscle of the city's pension fund to take on the Internet powerhouses Google and Yahoo.

Mr. Thompson, a likely 2009 mayoral candidate, has filed shareholder resolutions calling on the two search engines to create practices for dealing with censorship issues in communist countries like China, North Korea, and Cuba, as well as other "authoritarian" regimes including Iran, Syria, Burma, and Egypt.

A new Canadian software tool aims to help people in web-censoring countries like Iran, where this woman was on the internet in a cafe in Tehran in August."Its creators plan to launch the software at the Protect The Net conference at the university's Munk Centre for International Studies, where psiphon emerged as a project of Citizenlab. Researchers at the facility examine the relationship between digital media and politics around the world.

Why Is Almost All of Centcom.mil Not Being Picked Up by Google News Bizzy Blog hat tip Larwyn

Back in early September, I wrote of the anti-America, jihad loving bias of YouTube here and more here. Well they are getting $eriously empowered. They flag anything anti-jihad, like this.

Well the battle for the hearts, minds and future of the Ameican people has taken a hit. A  big one.

Add it all up, and with its pending buyout of YouTube as announced on October 9, Google, with its billions of dollars worth of market cap ($130 billion as of October 13!), now has the money and the vehicle to impact public opinion like no other e-company. The idea that GOOGLE is buying YouTube is disquieting but predictable. YouTube, Google, and the Liberal Bias Virus

Five months ago, the Internet’s top search engine Google was accused of banning conservative websites from its news crawl. Last week, the e-behemoth offered to purchase YouTube, the preeminent provider of videos over the Web that has recently been implicated in censorship of its own. With their pending merger, serious questions arise about the future of the most powerful telecommunications medium on the landscape, and who if anyone is trying to control its content.

As reported by American Thinker on May 22, Internet search king Google eliminated a number of conservative e-zines and blogs from its news crawl earlier this year. In all of the cases cited, the alleged offense was the dissemination of “hate speech.”

After closer examination, the tie between all the banished websites was the publishing of articles about radical Islam and its relation to international terrorism. Yet, sites that actually were more specifically involved in such activities – like Hezb’allah’s propaganda arm in Lebanon, al Manar – were unaffected by Google’s “hate speech” policies, and continue to be a part of its news crawl.

The Liberal Bias Virus: Coming Soon to a Computer Near You

Now, five months later, the web’s leading video-sharing portal YouTube has been implicated for demonstrating a similar hypocrisy in its business practices. In the past several weeks, some leading conservative websites have had videos pulled and their accounts closed.

In what I consider to be the greatest piece of news coming out of the terrible developments in the Middle East;

IAF jets attacked the Al-Manar television station in Beirut belonging to the Hizbullah organization on Thursday morning. Story here

Al Manar is particularly Goebbel and has earned its rightful place as a specially designated Global Terrorist Entity by the United States Treasury. Why? Who would try to cover up the barbaric murder of a young Jew in France? Could it be that eeeeeeeevil censor Google?

It should be noted that websites from The Ku Klux Klan, The American Nazi Party, The New Black Panther Party, al Manar (the terrorist group Hezbollah's "news" website) and The Mazui Foundation – that offers a t-shirt that says "Kill Whitey" for $15 – are currently included in Google's search engine index. It should further be noted that The New Media Journal pieces cited by Google as "hate speech" are still available on Google through other publications.

It's a dangerous thing when those who identify themselves as disseminators of unbiased information begin to establish definitions for the rest of us. One man's "hate speech" is another man's dissent. While some, or many, may disagree with the information presented in any given publication (I personally was offended by the untrue stories published by Newsweek of Qurans being flushed down toilets and by Dan Rather and Mary Mapes attempting to pass off manufactured news as the truth) it is still in the interest of preserving free speech that all information be presented, so the public can decide for itself. Google's habit of celebrating holidays like New Year's, Halloween, Christmas and Thanksgiving by altering its logo to match the season's theme has been extended in the past to honor the birthdays of famous inventors, scientists, artists and musicians, as well as Earth Day and the Persian New Year, but on the day Americans honor those who died serving their country, it's business as usual at the Internet-search giant.

Memorial Day visitors to the website found Google's standard logo – but no mention of Memorial Day. This was true as well at the company's news-search site.

Since 1999, Google has redesigned its logo for major holidays like Christmas and Thanksgiving, as well as minor ones like Ground Hog Day and St. Patrick's Day. It's even honored artists like Picasso, Monet, and Andy Warhol as well as Earth Day and the Burning Man festival.

"If you go back through the Google archives, you'll find that, although it has over the years commemorated Shichi-go-san being celebrated in Japan, Bastille Day in France, and Korean Liberation Day, it appears that Google has never dressed up its logo for Memorial Day," wrote Newsbusters blogger Noel Sheppard.

When Google News launched its beta site in April 2002, it said its mission was to construct an unbiased news engine free of human intervention using new methods of aggregating news from sources worldwide.

According to the April Nielsen/NetRatings report, 49 percent of all searches conducted in the U.S. in March 2006 were carried out on Google.

Last week, WorldNetDaily reported Google's decision to ban several Internet news sites from its search archives because of their criticism of radical Islam.

Along with the dropping of conservative news providers, Google has received other complaints of liberal bias:

• Rejecting an ad for a book critical of Bill and Hillary Clinton while continuing to accept anti-Bush themes
• Rejecting ads critical of Rep. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., while continuing to run attack ads against besieged House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, R-Texas.
• Allowing the communist Chinese government to have the search engine block "objectionable" search terms such as "democracy."

In addition, the company came under fire for an editorial decision to giving preferential placement to large and predominately liberal media outlets such as CNN and the BBC over conservative news sources, even if they are more recent or pertinent.

As WND reported, 98 percent of all political donations by Google employees went to support Democrats, and as a matter of fact, Al Gore is now a senior adviser to Google.

Google CEO Eric Schmidt gave the maximum legal limit of donations to Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry and to primary candidate Howard Dean.

Schmidt also contributed the maximum amount to Sen. Clinton.

Google has become an arm of the enemy, officially . We (the blogs) have been reporting on their complicity with terror groups for some time now. I have posted on it here and here and more on Google here. Filou of Views on World Affairs writes here;

I opened my Google News, the source of a main article regarding the Middle East was Hezbollah’s Al Manar (see picture right). Since when the news agency of a major terrorist organization is considered a mainstream news source? When will Google start acting in a responsible fashion and stand by its “No Evil” principle?

For those not familiar with Al-Manar, here are is a snapshot:
- It’s owned and managed by Iran-funded Hezbollah
- Its programs are dedicated to the promotion of Hezbollah’s views’ and the hatred of America and Israel
- One of the recent drama series it aired, called The Diaspora, was, according to the BBC, based on “the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a notorious 19th Century publication used by the Nazis among others to fuel race hatred."
- The EU, and more recently the US, have forbidden broadcasting the network.
- Until 9/11, its parent organization, Hezbollah was responsible for more American deaths than any other terrorist organizations

And back in August 2005, Google gave news agency status to the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), according to an anonymous source at Google.

The ISM—an affiliate of the anarchist/communist wing of the PLO—would be on par with professional news services such as CNN, Fox, and Associated Press. In addition, the Palestinian Authority has announced through its WAFA news agency that the ISM will be given an official license as a separate news agency, according it the same media status as the news giants. Can you honestly say these guys don't have an agenda? It certainly is not the interest of America, or the promotion of good over evil.

The irony in all this the Google's slogan "do no evil." DO NO EVIL. These malevolent pigs do great harm. Terrible harm is done in spreading the propaganda of  barbarians while shutting out the truthtellers.

Google had been running advertisements for the recruitment web site of the terrorist group Hamas, that show up when the word “Hamas” is entered in Arabic: Google advertises Hamas. Terror organization uses search engine to promote website of its military wing Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades.

"Terror organizations are advancing their recruitment and public relations methods: Internet surfers who enter the word “Hamas” in Arabic in the Google search engine, will view, in addition to the search results, an AdWord message that links directly to the website of the organization’s military faction Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades."

This indicates that a Hamas source has paid Google, the most popular search engine on the web, for the advertisement.

The link also appears in a search of several other words, such as the “Gaza,” “Palestine,” “Jihad.”

Oh and BTW, that Israeli flag (above right) is what you'll get when you Google "Israeli flag". Sorry fellas, you can't keep telling me these are "accidents" then spit in my face and tell me it's raining. It has since been corrected here but Google ran that Abu Ghraib Israeli flag for an awfully long time and it took a Herculean bloggers' effort to get it removed.

Each despicable action of Google speaks volumes to their motivation. Their complicity to aid and abet the Chicoms in silencing and censuring the net in China  here while refusing to work with the US government on fighting terrorism, crime and porn here is a clear indication of their sympathies.

Watch some of its programming (revealing clips can be seen at www.stopterroristmedia.org), and you'll understand how well-suited the medium is to the message.

That's why it's good news that last month the Treasury Department named Al-Manar as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist entity. The designation prohibits financial transactions with Al-Manar and its parent company,
the Lebanese Media Group, and enables the government to level penalties against U.S. financial institutions (or foreign institutions that transact business in the U.S.) doing business with them.

This is no trivial blow: Hezbollah has used Al-Manar for fund-raising by televising bank account numbers to which viewers can wire contributions for jihad. Al-Manar has also sold several million dollars worth of advertising to Western companies. This, too, is now at an end.

The terrorist designation should also help put pressure on Al-Manar's last remaining satellite carriers.

Everyone except "Don't be Evil" Google, you can't make this stuff up.

Today, only Saudi Arabia's Arabsat and Egypt's Nilesat carry the station, and both governments have rebuffed U.S. entreaties to take it off the air. That may change if either company turns out to be liable to designated-terror penalties. The Bush Administration might also consider a wider range of sanctions, such as barring Arabsat and Nilesat executives from entering the U.S. until Al-Manar is taken off the air.

Al-Manar is hardly the only Arab channel that routinely broadcasts murderously anti-Semitic or anti-American shows. Nor is it likely that simply putting Al-Manar out of business will end terrorist media: The Iranian chapter of Hezbollah has announced its intention to set up a new channel, Khaiber TV. But by taking action against Al-Manar, the Bush Administration has set the right precedent against the worst offender. Let's hope it can enforce it.

Google CFO George Reyes told CNBC that the Internet search engine's revenue growth rate was slowing to an "organic" pace and that recent efforts to milk more revenue out of search technology had gone about as far as they could go. Organic may be a desirable trait in food, but not so much in revenue growth, and Google's shares dropped 8%. Not so long ago, Google was the darling of Wall Street, with analysts trying to outdo each other with ever-higher price targets for Google's skyrocketing shares. But Google's honeymoon ended in an ugly way after the company reported disappointing earnings in its latest quarter, and its shares -- which once seemed on the fast track to $500 -- have fallen 17% in less than a month to about $360. Truth be told, the idea that Google's revenue growth is slowing is hardly earth-shattering. But Google's high stock price targets hinged on the hope that new innovations and products would keep the runaway growth of its earliest quarters continuing for years to come.

3.  Search google with the phrase” Prophet Muhammad” and there are no hits.

Another thing I have noticed is that the number of Google hits for keywords related to cartoons or religion declined right after Feb 8, 2006.

1.  Search google with the keywords “cartoons” and “mohammed” and you will see that on Feb 8 there are about 250 hits, but only about 250 hits from Feb 9 to Feb 15.

I sent that one question to you initially, and recieved no response. Now I am expanding my question.

I have reviewed your ad-sense policies, and I cannot find any point at which I am in violation, unless a subjective reviewer of the site found my content disagreeable politically.

If my account has been suspended because I present a different political view point than the reviewer of my site... well then you might have a small problem.

If you say that I am a hate site, a violent site, or a racist site, I can refute that conclusively; and will do so for anyone who asks. If you say that I have inappropriate content, I can refute that and will do so as well.

I will also point to many sites that present anti-semitic, anti-american, and in general vile and disgusting propaganda; and yet they have ad-sense ads. I can show you sites that depict burning of american flags, and bibles, that have ad-sense ads. I can show you sites that are unapologetically pronographic, and have ad-sense ads.

I can only conclude that this action is motivated by political bias. It is my hope that suspending accounts that are politically opposed to a reviewers viewpoint is the action of a single employee and not general corporate policy.

You are of course a private company, and you may choose to allow your political biases to determine who you do business with; but if you do, be prepared to have all of your conservative and libertarian customers do the same.

If you cannot provide me with a legitimate reason for this account suspension, that is not motivated by a bias against my libertarian politics, my staunch advocacy of free speech regardless of it's potential for offensiveness, or the right to keep and bear arms, then I will be going to the blogosphere and the media with this.

Finally, if you insist on closing my account, please forward the remaining outstanding balance due me. As I cannot log in to my account I can't confirm how much it is, but when I checked yesterday it was only about $40.

Google: Search Tool of the State

One of the ways urbandictionary.com defines "sellout" is to alienate core fans by changing one's style to appeal to a broader audience -- and becoming what one's fans were rebelling against in the first place. The U.S. government wanted search history to help fight child porn and Google said no way, to cheers from their Big Brother-hating constituency. But for its search service in China, Google caved to the communists, removing offending results for "Human Rights" and "Things that are Democratic." Tough choice. Founder Sergey Brin is quoted by Fortune as saying, "it will be better for Chinese Web users, because ultimately they would get more information, though not quite all of it." There will be no staring down tanks in Tiananmen Square.

Google could have kept their cool and trusted image if they'd just worked with someone else in China, someone they could smash. Eggroll.com powered by Google. Someone else to blame for those unsearchable keywords. Users in the West may not desert them, but a billion soon-to-be-online Chinese will forever associate Google with lame and censored results -- search tools of the state. That's just dumb.  Bad enough last March Ynet, reported that Google had been running advertisements for the recruitment web site of the terrorist group Hamas, that show up when the word “Hamas” is entered in Arabic: Google advertises Hamas.

And this terror love seems to be endemic to Google...........BTW if someone would capture the page for me I'd really appreciate it..........I just cut and pasted the above but I would love a snapshot of the page and I don't know how to do that.

Google: Withdraw Your Sanction!

Can't get enough good ole American capitalism and ingenuity? Me neither.  Kokonut Pundit finds the holy grail -- Dynamic Internet Technology supersedes Google here. 

Bill Xia immigrated to the U.S. from China during the late 1990s. Over time he saw how the Chinese government kept a tighter and tighter control over Chinese web users inside China. And because of that frustration, he and few others started Dynamic Internet Technology as a way to help Chinese users get around the Chinese's firewall.We must pay attention to this little well known company that began back in 2001 made up of Chinese immigrants who sole specialty is to provide Chinese web users ways to subvert China's firewall. Including Google.

This company needs more exposure and help in getting tips out to Chinese web users.  

Bloggers and supporters from around the world outside of China should look to this new company, Dynamic Internet Technology, as the answer to overcome China's severe restriction on free exchange of information, truth and facts. Google's latest faux pas, seemingly so, may have actually helped this situation. Rather than to heap disparagements on Google’s latest endeavor, even though they are a bit of a hypocrite on what they've done lately, we are probably facing the best opportunity to help ensure on our ability to forcibly export free exchange of information and ideas into China.

Google Inc.'s decision this week to censor its Internet search service in China has infuriated many American Google users, some of whom are calling for boycotts of the company's industry-leading search service and urging investors to sell their Google stock.

The censorship imposed by Google can produce startling results. A Chinese user looking for photographs of Tiananmen Square sees images of attractive buildings and smiling tourists, while American Google users get photos of Chinese tanks used to disperse prodemocracy protestors in 1989.

Google's senior policy counsel, Andrew McLaughlin, defended Google's decision, saying the company was trying to balance its commitments ''to satisfy the interests of users, expand access to information, and respond to local conditions."

You've got blood on your hands Andrew.

''While removing search results is inconsistent with Google's mission," McLaughlin said in an e-mailed statement sent to the Associated Press on Wednesday, ''providing no information (or a heavily degraded user experience that amounts to no information) is more inconsistent with our mission."

First do no evil Andrew.

Not all bloggers are calling for action against Google. Michael Stickings, a self-described liberal who contributes to the group blog The Reaction, said he thinks that even a censored Chinese version of Google is better than no Chinese Google at all. ''We do need to take a tougher line on China, including in the area of trade and investment, and I'm not terribly happy with Google's move," Stickings said. ''I just think that it may -- repeat: may-- end up benefiting the Chinese people."

Brin and Page: May we take this opportunity to applaud your decision on accepting technical guidance from the Communist Party of China in your creative Google China project, and to extend our admiration for your recognition that search technologies are best left in the hands of responsible government entities (the U.S. imperialist government doesn't fall into that category, of course).

Google has an extraordinary amount of information about its users. It logs all the searches made on it and stores this information indefinitely. Because every computer has a unique IP (internet protocol) address, every visit to every website can be traced back to the computer making it — a fact which is well known in geek circles but remarkably under-publicised outside them. (Shi Tao, the Chinese journalist, was given 10 years in jail last April for “leaking state secrets” after Yahoo! in Hong Kong handed over information linking his IP address and his e-mail to the Chinese authorities.) Users of Google’s Gmail service, who are already having their e-mails scanned to place targeted ads, have given the company their identity, a full record of all their searches and copies of all their e-mails, stored indefinitely. Users of Google’s Toolbar are inadvertently giving the company a list of not just all their searches but also of every single website they visit. This should begin most especially with those vast university endowments because academic institutions, of all places, should be most concerned with the censorship of ideas and information. Union pension plans as well should seek to divest as their members should be particularly appalled by the company's restrictive behavior.

Google bows to Chinese hegemonic designs

This is really too bad. Google succumbs to Chinese pressure, and lists Taiwan, the less powerful independent country across the Taiwan Strait, as a "province of China" in Google Maps.

As Jeff says, makes you wonder what else Google is doing to win favor with the Chinese.

Update: We've read the comments that say Google is doing only the same as the U.S. and many other governments. But hang on. The U.S. State Department's online information on Taiwan at least gives the island its own separate country page. Other online maps simply list the island as ``Taiwan,'' and don't wade into the politics. Taiwan separated from China in 1949 after a civil war, has since been self-governed, and evolved into a stable democracy. So why should Google revert and call Taiwan a province of China? UPDATE JANUARY 27TH; The good news, the rats at Google appear to be suffering;

Shares of the top search engine have fallen nearly 10 percent in the past week and a half.

Two analysts downgraded Google (Research) to "sell" in the past week, citing valuation.

Some investors are worried about the potential impact of a recent squabble between the federal government and Google. The government has sought information from search engines as part of its attempts to reenact a law to protect minors from online pornography.

The Justice Department has said that several of Google's competitors have cooperated with its request for records. But Google has so far refused to hand over any information, citing privacy concerns. As a result, the Justice Department filed a motion in a U.S. District Court last week demanding that Google turn over random search results.

Finally, Google has also come under fire for launching a version of its site in China which allows the Chinese government to censor search results about topics such as human rights.

All I can say is it couldn't have happened to a shittier group of guys. Keep it up fellas.

The Internet giant Google will give news agency status to the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), according to an anonymous source at Google.

 If true, the ISM—an affiliate of the anarchist/communist wing of the PLO—would be on par with professional news services such as CNN, Fox, and Associated Press. In addition, the Palestinian Authority has announced through its WAFA news agency that the ISM will be given an official license as a separate news agency, according it the same media status as the news giants.
