The Eeeeeeevil Google Does

Google has become an arm of the enemy, officially . We (the blogs) have been reporting on their complicity with terror groups for some time now. I have posted on it here and here and more on Google here. Filou of Views on World Affairs writes here;

I opened my Google News, the source of a main article regarding the Middle East was Hezbollah’s Al Manar (see picture right). Since when the news agency of a major terrorist organization is considered a mainstream news source? When will Google start acting in a responsible fashion and stand by its “No Evil” principle?

Google_hizbollah_3

For those not familiar with Al-Manar, here are is a snapshot:
- It’s owned and managed by Iran-funded Hezbollah
- Its programs are dedicated to the promotion of Hezbollah’s views’ and the hatred of America and Israel
- One of the recent drama series it aired, called The Diaspora, was, according to the BBC, based on “the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, a notorious 19th Century publication used by the Nazis among others to fuel race hatred."
- The EU, and more recently the US, have forbidden broadcasting the network.
- Until 9/11, its parent organization, Hezbollah was responsible for more American deaths than any other terrorist organizations

US Designates Al-Manar as a Terror Entity. This is the same Al-Manar that the US Treasury Department Dealt a  Major Blow Against -- Hezbollah’s Al-Manar TV and Its Iranian Sponsors

Coalition Against Terrorist Media Achieves Number One  US Priority
The Coalition Against Terrorist Media (CATM) today praised the U.S. Treasury Department for naming Hezbollah’s al-Manar Television, as well as al-Nour Radio and the Lebanese Media Group, as a Specially Designated Global Terrorist (SDGT) entity.  Al-Manar runs programming designed to recruit terrorists and incite violent attacks.  Much of its funding is provided by Iran. Here

This is a news outfit? Google sees fit to qualify MURDER INC as a news source? Who died and gave these evil clowns  such dangerous power?  Google refuses to  give news agency status  to Little Green Footballs. Frankly it is one of the few news organizations providing real news. One of the few TRUTHTELLERS.

Google_1And back in August 2005, Google gave news agency status to the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), according to an anonymous source at Google.

The ISM—an affiliate of the anarchist/communist wing of the PLO—would be on par with professional news services such as CNN, Fox, and Associated Press. In addition, the Palestinian Authority has announced through its WAFA news agency that the ISM will be given an official license as a separate news agency, according it the same media status as the news giants. Can you honestly say these guys don't have an agenda? It certainly is not the interest of America, or the promotion of good over evil.

The irony in all this the Google's slogan "do no evil." DO NO EVIL. These malevolent pigs do great harm. Terrible harm is done in spreading the propaganda of  barbarians while shutting out the truthtellers.

Google had been running advertisements for theIsrael_flag2_2 recruitment web site of the terrorist group Hamas, that show up when the word “Hamas” is entered in Arabic: Google advertises Hamas. Terror organization uses search engine to promote website of its military wing Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades.

"Terror organizations are advancing their recruitment and public relations methods: Internet surfers who enter the word “Hamas” in Arabic in the Google search engine, will view, in addition to the search results, an AdWord message that links directly to the website of the organization’s military faction Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades."

This indicates that a Hamas source has paid Google, the most popular search engine on the web, for the advertisement.

The link also appears in a search of several other words, such as the “Gaza,” “Palestine,” “Jihad.”

Google_china_10 Oh and BTW, that Israeli flag (above right) is what you'll get when you Google "Israeli flag". Sorry fellas, you can't keep telling me these are "accidents" then spit in my face and tell me it's raining. It has since been corrected here but Google ran that Abu Ghraib Israeli flag for an awfully long time and it took a Herculean bloggers' effort to get it removed.

Each despicable action of Google speaks volumes to their motivation. Their complicity to aid and abet the Chicoms in silencing and censuring the net in China  here while refusing to work with the US government on fighting terrorism, crime and porn here is a clear indication of their sympathies.

Think about it. By their acts ye shall know them. And so we know them.

UPDATE: More on Al-Mana from the Wall Street Journal;

Terror TV - Editorial
On any given night of the week, between 10 and 15 million Arabic speakers in Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East tune into Al-Manar (the Beacon), the television channel produced by the terrorist group Hizballah. The station's purpose, an Al-Manar official told researcher Avi Jorisch of the Washington Institute for Near East Policy, is to "help people on the way to committing what you call in the West a suicide mission."
In its heyday, Al-Manar was transmitted via French Telecom's Globecast satellite, and for a while could be seen in the U.S. thanks to Barbados-based Intelsat and Brazil's Hispamar. But a concerted lobbying effort by the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies succeeded in persuading most of the carriers to drop Al-Manar. Today, only Saudi Arabia's Arabsat and Egypt's Nilesat carry the station. The Bush administration might consider barring Arabsat and Nilesat executives from entering the U.S. until Al-Manar is taken off the air. (Wall Street  4Apr06)

Well, we finally know who's been hogging all the Orkut invites. No, no,  the Tribalistas,  here. Al-Qaeda sympathizers. According to USA Today, the terrorist organization has been using Google's invite-only social network service as a recruitment tool, USA Today;

Search for Bin Laden on Orkut and you'll find at least 10 communities linked to him, the largest boasting more than 2,000 members. "We know for sure that al-Qaeda is trying to recruit as many as possible from the Western societies, not people who look like Arabs," said Rita Katz, director of SITE Institute, a Washington non-profit that tracks terrorist activity online for government and private clients, including the Department of Homeland Security. "This is a good place to be if you want to recruit people like that." Of course, it's not the only place either. Terrorists have been using the Internet to further their activities for a long time now. "I think the knee-jerk response will be to blame the messenger," Bruce Hoffman, director of the RAND Institute's counterterrorism center, told USA Today. "But the jihadists are already using the Internet. The real issue is how we counter these messages of hate and radicalism."

Google feeling the Pain

Google can say what it wants, the blogosphere's anti-Google campaign definitely hurt them, oh yeah. Today's WSJ;

More Punishment for Google
Google CFO George Reyes told CNBC that the Internet search engine's revenue growth rate was slowing to an "organic" pace and that recent efforts to milk more revenue out of search technology had gone about as far as they could go. Organic may be a desirable trait in food, but not so much in revenue growth, and Google's shares dropped 8%. Not so long ago, Google was the darling of Wall Street, with analysts trying to outdo each other with ever-higher price targets for Google's skyrocketing shares. But Google's honeymoon ended in an ugly way after the company reported disappointing earnings in its latest quarter, and its shares -- which once seemed on the fast track to $500 -- have fallen 17% in less than a month to about $360. Truth be told, the idea that Google's revenue growth is slowing is hardly earth-shattering. But Google's high stock price targets hinged on the hope that new innovations and products would keep the runaway growth of its earliest quarters continuing for years to come.

Cartoon Lunacy Et tu Google?

This just in from Larry;Gagged_1

Is Google censoring the blogs?

First do no evil right? Thinking and communicating thoughts is the essence of humanity.

If you Google search Danish cartoons for the images and Lord knows I posted one of those toons back in October and subsequently ran them all afterward, as have  myriad bloggers but still you cannot find them on Google search.

Example #1---here is a posting on JihadWatch today

Egyptian editor who printed cartoons has left the country Egyptian Sandmonkey, who has done such important work during the entire cartoon rage episode, and was the first to reveal that the Egyptian paper Al Fagr printed the cartoons in October, now tells us that the editor responsible has left Egypt -- not surprising, since editors who printed the cartoons in Jordan and Algeria have been arrested.

1.  Search Google with the phrase “ Egyptian editor who printed” and google gives this result:

Egyptian editor who printed cartoons has left the country
4 hours ago by [email protected]  Egyptian Sandmonkey, who has done such important work during the entire cartoon rage episode, and was the first to reveal that the Egyptian paper Al Fagr printed the cartoons in October, now tells us that the editor responsible has left..... Jihad Watch - http://www.jihadwatch.org/

2.  Search Google with just the word “cartoons” and no result.

Example #2----another posting at JihadWatch today….

Cartoon Protests in Pakistan Leave 3 Dead
PESHAWAR, Pakistan - Gunfire and rioting erupted Wednesday as tens of thousands of people took to the streets in several Pakistani cities during the country's third consecutive day of violent protests over the Prophet Muhammad cartoons. Three people were killed, including an 8-year-old boy.

2.  Search Google with the phrase “streets in several Pakistani cities”  and you get this hit.

Cartoon Protests in Pakistan Leave 3 Dead
5 hours ago by [email protected]  An update on this story from AP: PESHAWAR, Pakistan - Gunfire and rioting erupted Wednesday as tens of thousands of people took to the streets in several Pakistani cities during the country's third consecutive day... Jihad Watch -

3.  Search google with the phrase” Prophet Muhammad” and there are no hits.

Another thing I have noticed is that the number of Google hits for keywords related to cartoons or religion declined right after Feb 8, 2006.

1.  Search google with the keywords “cartoons” and “mohammed” and you will see that on Feb 8 there are about 250 hits, but only about 250 hits from Feb 9 to Feb 15.

*Using Google Blog Search

BTW, I printed those toons Bck in October because of the "backstory"

Danish author Kåre Bluitgen had difficulties in getting artists to illustrate his book about Muhammad due to fear of reprisals from Islamic extremists. Jyllandsposten, Denmark's largest newspaper, responded by asking 40 illustrators to make drawings of Muhammad, and published twelve in this Saturday's edition.

Google_china_7 Is there something to this, any other bloggers have any dirt on this? Bloggers in the Middle East are risking their lives to get the story out and Google is going into dhimmi mode?

This I gotta know. This really is evil. Pure evil.

SNOW DAY: HACKTIVISTS ARE HOME

"A man should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day of his life, in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful which God has implanted in the human soul." —Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

It's a beautiful day..........
The kids are beside themselves, snow day snow day snow day..............New York hit with 26.9March_06_026_1 inches --- yowser. It's spectacular though, I am viewing the magnificence of the whiteout  and blogging, ah heaven.
I decided to home school the kids today in Hacktivism. Great piece in today's Wall Street Journal. Taking down

The Great Firewall Of China here

[...] find Freegate, a software program that thwarts the Chinese government's vast system to limit what its citizens see. Freegate -- by connecting computers inside of China to servers in the U.S. -- enables Zivn and others to keep reading and writing to Wikipedia and countless other Web sites. [chart]

Behind Freegate is a North Carolina-based Chinese hacker named Bill Xia. He calls it his red pill, a reference to the drug in the "Matrix" movies that vaulted unconscious captives of a totalitarian regime into the real world. Mr. Xia likes to refer to the villainous Agent Smith from the Matrix films, noting that the digital bad guy in sunglasses "guards the Matrix like China's Public Security Bureau guards the Internet."
[....]China also has gotten some U.S. Internet companies to limit the search results they provide or the discussions they host on their Chinese services. A tiny firm Mr. Xia set up to provide and maintain Freegate had to lobby computer-security companies such as Symantec Corp., of Cupertino, Calif., not to treat it as a virus.

In response to China's crackdown, and to restrictions in many Middle Eastern countries as well, a small army has been mustered to defeat them. "Hacktivists," they call themselves.

In other words, Google you can go to hell. The ingenuity of capitalistic mind. I love it. I first reported on this trend and Bill Xia back in January here but Atlas readers already knew that.

Google Gags America, Tosses China's Salad

Google is getting into this play-like-China-big-brother-thing by pre-emptively putting on "Content Warning" labels **without reviewing** the blogsite's contents first but rely on readers' complaints instead. Check it out here.Google_tank2

The Google AdSense Team

Sirs,

Can you tell me how my account is not in compliance with your policies?

I sent that one question to you initially, and recieved no response. Now I am expanding my question.

I have reviewed your ad-sense policies, and I cannot find any point at which I am in violation, unless a subjective reviewer of the site found my content disagreeable politically.

If my account has been suspended because I present a different political view point than the reviewer of my site... well then you might have a small problem.

If you say that I am a hate site, a violent site, or a racist site, I can refute that conclusively; and will do so for anyone who asks. If you say that I have inappropriate content, I can refute that and will do so as well.

I will also point to many sites that present anti-semitic, anti-american, and in general vile and disgusting propaganda; and yet they have ad-sense ads. I can show you sites that depict burning of american flags, and bibles, that have ad-sense ads. I can show you sites that are unapologetically pronographic, and have ad-sense ads.

I can only conclude that this action is motivated by political bias. It is my hope that suspending accounts that are politically opposed to a reviewers viewpoint is the action of a single employee and not general corporate policy.

You are of course a private company, and you may choose to allow your political biases to determine who you do business with; but if you do, be prepared to have all of your conservative and libertarian customers do the same.

If you cannot provide me with a legitimate reason for this account suspension, that is not motivated by a bias against my libertarian politics, my staunch advocacy of free speech regardless of it's potential for offensiveness, or the right to keep and bear arms, then I will be going to the blogosphere and the media with this.

Finally, if you insist on closing my account, please forward the remaining outstanding balance due me. As I cannot log in to my account I can't confirm how much it is, but when I checked yesterday it was only about $40.

Thank you,

Google: Search Tool of the State

Google_maohoogle5cl

One of the ways urbandictionary.com defines "sellout" is to alienate core fans by changing one's style to appeal to a broader audience -- and becoming what one's fans were rebelling against in the first place. The U.S. government wanted search history to help fight child porn and Google said no way, to cheers from their Big Brother-hating constituency. But for its search service in China, Google caved to the communists, removing offending results for "Human Rights" and "Things that are Democratic." Tough choice. Founder Sergey Brin is quoted by Fortune as saying, "it will be better for Chinese Web users, because ultimately they would get more information, though not quite all of it." There will be no staring down tanks in Tiananmen Square.

Google could have kept their cool and trusted image if they'd just worked with someone else in China, someone they could smash. Eggroll.com powered by Google. Someone else to blame for those unsearchable keywords. Users in the West may not desert them, but a billion soon-to-be-online Chinese will forever associate Google with lame and censored results -- search tools of the state. That's just dumb. And totally uncool. [Wall Street Journal here]

Google: Withdraw Your Sanction!

Can't get enough good ole American capitalism and ingenuity? Me neither.  Kokonut Pundit finds the holy grail -- Dynamic Internet Technology supersedes Google here

Bill Xia immigrated to the U.S. from China during the late 1990s. Over time he saw how the Chinese government kept a tighter and tighter control over Chinese web users inside China. And because of that frustration, he and few others started Dynamic Internet Technology as a way to help Chinese users get around the Chinese's firewall. We must pay attention to this little well known company that began back in 2001 made up of Chinese immigrants who sole specialty is to provide Chinese web users ways to subvert China's firewall. Including Google.

This company needs more exposure and help in getting tips out to Chinese webGoogle_china_2 users.

Bloggers and supporters from around the world outside of China should look to this new company, Dynamic Internet Technology, as the answer to overcome China's severe restriction on free exchange of information, truth and facts. Google's latest faux pas, seemingly so, may have actually helped this situation. Rather than to heap disparagements on Google’s latest endeavor, even though they are a bit of a hypocrite on what they've done lately, we are probably facing the best opportunity to help ensure on our ability to forcibly export free exchange of information and ideas into China.

Hiawatha Bray in todays Boston Globe here;

Google China censorship fuels calls for US boycott

Some American users also urging investors to sell service's stock

Google Inc.'s decision this week to censor its Internet search service in China has infuriated many American Google users, some of whom are calling for boycotts of the company's industry-leading search service and urging investors to sell their Google stock.

damn right. The good news Google's stock is down 10%. More on that here

[...] blog postings about businesses, has detected ''a huge peak in activity" related to Google, according to Howard Kaushansky, Umbria chief executive. Kaushansky said a sudden burst of online comments could mean trouble for the world's leading Internet search service.

Many bloggers have expressed dismay over Google's censorship policy. Pamela Geller Oshry, former publisher of the New York Observer newspaper and operator of the conservative blog AtlasShrugs, said she will no longer search for information through Google. She's dropped Google's advertising from her blog, even though it helped to pay her online expenses. Oshry has also posted a message urging investors to sell their Google shares.

"operator" heh............I am the CHIEF COOK AND BOTTLEWASHER, CFO, CEO, janitor, writer, editor, Director of R&D, Art Director, Research assistant, fact checker, Publisher, Marketing Director,in other words, I am the only one here.

''You have to withdraw your sanction," said Oshry. ''The evil of the world is made possible by the sanction that you give it."

If only that was the premise we built everything upon.

The censorship imposed by Google can produce startling results. A Chinese user looking for photographs of Tiananmen Square sees images of attractive buildings and smiling tourists, while American Google users get photos of Chinese tanks used to disperse prodemocracy protestors in 1989.

Google's senior policy counsel, Andrew McLaughlin, defended Google's decision, saying the company was trying to balance its commitments ''to satisfy the interests of users, expand access to information, and respond to local conditions."

You've got blood on your hands Andrew.

''While removing search results is inconsistent with Google's mission," McLaughlin said in an e-mailed statement sent to the Associated Press on Wednesday, ''providing no information (or a heavily degraded user experience that amounts to no information) is more inconsistent with our mission."

First do no evil Andrew.

Not all bloggers are calling for action against Google. Michael Stickings, a self-described liberal who contributes to the group blog The Reaction, said he thinks that even a censored Chinese version of Google is better than no Chinese Google at all. ''We do need to take a tougher line on China, including in the area of trade and investment, and I'm not terribly happy with Google's move," Stickings said. ''I just think that it may -- repeat: may-- end up benefiting the Chinese people."

Typical left moral equivocation. The left loves ideas, hates people.

An open letter to Google from the People's Cube

Dear Messrs. Brin and Page:

May we take this opportunity to applaud your decision on accepting technical guidance from the Communist Party of China in your creative Google China project, and to extend our admiration for your recognition that search technologies are best left in the hands of responsible government entities (the U.S. imperialist government doesn't fall into that category, of course).

UPDATE: January 29th: BIG GOOGLE IS WATCHING YOU, read it all here - I insist

Google has an extraordinary amount of information about its users. It logs all the searches made on it and stores this information indefinitely. Because every computer has a unique IP (internet protocol) address, every visit to every website can be traced back to the computer making it — a fact which is well known in geek circles but remarkably under-publicised outside them. (Shi Tao, the Chinese journalist, was given 10 years in jail last April for “leaking state secrets” after Yahoo! in Hong Kong handed over information linking his IP address and his e-mail to the Chinese authorities.) Users of Google’s Gmail service, who are already having their e-mails scanned to place targeted ads, have given the company their identity, a full record of all their searches and copies of all their e-mails, stored indefinitely. Users of Google’s Toolbar are inadvertently giving the company a list of not just all their searches but also of every single website they visit. And, as the lawsuit makes clear, all this information is potentially vulnerable to subpoena. Hat tip Lois

DIVEST of GOOGLE STOCK

In light of  alarming events inhibiting the free flow of news and information in China, the most egregious violaters of human rights, Roger Simon calls for divestment. Hear hear

What to do about the new Axis of Evil?

I'm talking about Yahoo, Microsoft and Google, of course, those three Internet mega-corporations who are actively cooperating with totalitarianism in China.

Google is the latest to prostrate itself before the new emperors.  Timesonline sums it up

go over to Roger's blog here and leave suggestions on how to mount this campaign

... a Google stock divestment campaign.

Everyone who cares about the free-flow of information, about democracy in China,Google_china in fact about democracy anywhere, should start selling their Google stock. This should begin most especially with those vast university endowments because academic institutions, of all places, should be most concerned with the censorship of ideas and information. Union pension plans as well should seek to divest as their members should be particularly appalled by the company's restrictive behavior.

I despise GOOGLE for it's terrorist enabling policies here and hate America bias here. Last March Ynet, reported that Google had been running advertisements for the recruitment web site of the terrorist group Hamas, that show up when the word “Hamas” is entered in Arabic: Google advertises Hamas.

And this terror love seems to be endemic to Google, they will include  a Jew-hating site that meets their criteria for being a “news source,” featuring the work of the Jew hating  lunatic Kurt Nimmo: Peace, Earth & Justice News but not one of the best news sources available on the net, LGF? Google bows to Chinese hegemonic designs

china province.jpgThis is really too bad. Google succumbs to Chinese pressure, and lists Taiwan, the less powerful independent country across the Taiwan Strait, as a "province of China" in Google Maps.

As Jeff says, makes you wonder what else Google is doing to win favor with the Chinese.

Taipei Times - archives.

Update: We've read the comments that say Google is doing only the same as the U.S. and many other governments. But hang on. The U.S. State Department's online information on Taiwan at least gives the island its own separate country page. Other online maps simply list the island as ``Taiwan,'' and don't wade into the politics. Taiwan separated from China in 1949 after a civil war, has since been self-governed, and evolved into a stable democracy. So why should Google revert and call Taiwan a province of China? Anyway, here's a good piece (free registration) that runs in the Merc.

I am sure you've noticed I have not and will not carry Google ads..........once they ran ads for Hamas, they were dead.

Google has as its motto "Don't Be Evil" - now that's pathetic.

Over at the Democracy Project, Bruce has an excellent piece Lipscomb: It Didn't Begin With Google ,  “The Real Cost of Google’s Sell-Out To China” in journalism’s main trade paper Editor & Publisher. Read it

“ Isn’t it time Americans and their elected representatives pay more attention to their own cherished freedoms? Aren’t the giant keiretsu companies that control American media too willing to suspend them wherever they interfere with their pursuit of profit?”

UPDATE JANUARY 27TH; The good news, the rats at Google appear to be suffering;

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com)
Google_great_expectations_2

Shares of the top search engine have fallen nearly 10 percent in the past week and a half.

Two analysts downgraded Google (Research) to "sell" in the past week, citing valuation.

Some investors are worried about the potential impact of a recent squabble between the federal government and Google. The government has sought information from search engines as part of its attempts to reenact a law to protect minors from online pornography.

The Justice Department has said that several of Google's competitors have cooperated with its request for records. But Google has so far refused to hand over any information, citing privacy concerns. As a result, the Justice Department filed a motion in a U.S. District Court last week demanding that Google turn over random search results.

Finally, Google has also come under fire for launching a version of its site in China which allows the Chinese government to censor search results about topics such as human rights.

All I can say is it couldn't have happened to a shittier group of guys. Keep it up fellas.

DIVEST DIVEST DIVEST! You can't help but notice that Google had no trouble cooperating with the Chi-coms, but refuse to work us (as in  United States)

Matt of STUDENTS FOR A FREE TIBET  sent me their jam of Google's logo to reflect the meaning of their partnership with the Chinese government to censor people's access to information inside China.

"Please see Student's for a Free Tibet's blog, Tibet Will Be Free, for some of our criticism and analysis of Google's partnership to spread Chinese propaganda.

We've also launched a campaign calling for Google to end its censorship of searches made through google.cn. Our Action Campaign webpage is here. Please click this link to tell the Google corporate leadership what you think about their hypocritical disdain for the free flow of information inside China."

You go Matt.....kick ass, get names!

American Families Fed up with Mainstream Media

GOOGLE news headline:

Ohio Families Fed Up With Loss of Marines

David writes me:Religionofpeace

This headline went nationwide at 8:03am from AP, at 9:13am headline changed to “Ohio Families Mourn Loss of Marines”. This is the type of shit that caused us to withdraw from Viet Nam. As a grandfather and a Viet Vet I’m FED UP with the DNC media whores! The families have enough grief to deal with without being used in such an offensive manner

David,  I couldnt agree with you more. This is a  sickness, a self loathing  Hate America  psyop on the American psyche by media elites. This is their agenda. They will destroy this great country.. The Left Loves ideas, Hates people.

Dr. Sanity  wrote an interesting piece on just how manipulative it is.

Google has developed  quite the terrorist enabling reputation.

Google Terrorist Arm

This you must read FRONT PAGE MAG.
I and the best of the blogosphere voices (particularly Charles at LGF) have been screaming about Google's antisemitic, terrorist enabling practices for months. The won't give Charles news agency status but these murderers? Think about it. Charles is the single most influential news source on the War on Radical Islam.

Google_1The Internet giant Google will give news agency status to the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), according to an anonymous source at Google.

If true, the ISM—an affiliate of the anarchist/communist wing of the PLO—would be on par with professional news services such as CNN, Fox, and Associated Press. In addition, the Palestinian Authority has announced through its WAFA news agency that the ISM will be given an official license as a separate news agency, according it the same media status as the news giants.
