Anything and everything is okay with the Left in this election. Every violation, exploitation and invasion of privacy. But Bush spying on al qaeda had rabid heads exploding on the left.
This should be challenged in court. The deck is so stacked against us.
But some social media analysis of politics is going beyond that. A partnership between Facebook and Politico announced today is one of the more far-reaching efforts. It will consist of sentiment analysis reports and voting-age user surveys, accompanied by stories by Politico reporters.
Most notably, the Facebook-Politico data set will include Facebook users’ private status messages and comments. While that may alarm some people, Facebook and Politico say the entire process is automated and no Facebook employees read the posts.
Rather, every post and comment — both public and private — by a U.S. user that mentions a presidential candidate’s name will be fed through a sentiment analysis tool that spits out anonymized measures of the general U.S. Facebook population.
This is similar to the way Google offers reports on search trends based on its users’ aggregate search activities.
I call shame on Facebook. Why? Because they have blocked my page from posting on others pages, and have threatened to take my page down for being spammy and racist. A page that openly calls for the American right to free speech, and the boycott of CAIR.
First let's look at some facts according to the Facebook statistics page:
"Facebook is a social networking service and website launched in February 2004, operated and privately owned by Facebook, Inc. As of 2011, Facebook has more than 800 million active users, with more than 50% of active users logging on to Facebook on any given day. More than 900 million objects that people interact with (pages, groups, events and community pages) Average user is connected to 80 community pages, groups and events. On average, more than 250 million photos are uploaded per day. More than 70 languages are available on the site. More than 75% of users are outside of the United States. Over 300,000 users helped translate the site through the translations application.
"More than 350 million active users currently access Facebook through their mobile devices. More than 475 mobile operators globally work to deploy and promote Facebook mobile products."
Heavily annoyed, I thought I would look and see exactly how much open hatred flows throughout the many pages and groups of this cultural phenomenon.
Doing a general search of the term CAIR on FB revealed 33 English pages directly affiliated with their organization, and spreading their message of stopping Islamophobia. I found 3 (mine included) against the organization. Not too bad in my humble opinion, sowhere's the problem? Well, upon further searching I found the following:
If you search for the generic term "Israel" there were 1,243 results. 621 of these were anti Israel. And not just the standard I hate Israel either, I'm talking open pages calling for genocide. Some minor examples here, here, and here. On a search for the term "Zionism", it brought up 443 negative sites out of 490 results calling for its end.
And it must be noted, this was only searching in Arabic and English, which leaves over 68 available languages unchecked. All percentages aside, this is pretty disgusting. That rings out to be 63% of the 1,686 pages reviewed, were anti Israel.
Onto the other side of the coin, with completing a search of the simple terms Muslim, Islam, and anti-Islam, (this time just in English) I returned a total of 1,163 pages and groups, only 50 of those were critical of Islam, that's a whopping .04%. The majority of these pages are for calling for stopping Islamophobia, and preventing hatred towards Muslims. (And converting others to Islam of course)
In reality, this is the tip of the iceberg; antisemitism and racism are rampant on Facebook, and we all know that. If a day doesn't go by that I don't receive a death threat on there or my blog, well, a day just doesn't go by. While I am 100% for free speech, I am even more for stopping all this genocidal talk against a select group of humans, just because of their religion. Isn't it time for Facebook to take a good look at what they have on their site, or do they even care?
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you to all Atlas and Jihadwatch and SIOA members who wrote, blogged, emailed and railed against the proposed elimination of the Stop the Islamization of America Facebook group, which was first reported here on May 12th.
Today, after the group was already archived and all 15,187 members had been "migrated" (FB euphemism for eliminated), Facebook relented and we received the upgrade option after all. Shocking, I know!
Facebook gave in after I wrote several articles about this outrageous act of censorhip. World Net Daily ran this:
There is a deeply disturbing development going on now at Facebook: Its management is dismantling groups, eliminating their memberships with an "upgrade" that is only available to some groups. And there is every indication Facebook is using political criteria to determine which groups get the upgrade and targeting conservative groups for elimination.
In mid-May, my group Stop Islamization of America (SIOA) had this warning plastered across the top of our Facebook group page, which we use to keep in touch with our members, notifying them of rallies, events, conference, and various other initiatives:
Regular Atlas readers recall the story I broke a couple of months ago on Facebook fascism: Facebook's Fascism in Group Membership Elimination -- well, they did it. Despite several media outlets picking up my story, Facebook gave its users the big middle finger, but I believe we need a presence on Facebook -- so I ask you all to rejoin.
A few months ago, I warned of this deeply disturbing development at Facebook here. Facebook management began dismantling groups, eliminating their memberships with an "upgrade" that was only available to some groups. SIOA was never offered the upgrade. And as promised, our membership disappeared.
Despite this, my readers and I continued to write, email, and post to FB forums railing against this gross injustice.
It worked. Today our members "reappeared" (beam me up, Scotty) and we were given the upgrade option. And so we are back, but we were never gone. Ain't no stopping us.
This group is scheduled to be archived
Over the next few months, Facebook will be archiving all groups created using the old groups format. Moving forward, you can create groups using the new groups format, which makes it easy to share with the important groups in your life.
Understand that some groups are given the option (a link) to upgrade. If your group page has this link, you can upgrade and keep all your members.
But what happens when a Facebook group doesn't get offered the upgrade option and instead gets archived? You lose your members, that's what. The Facebook notice explained that "when your old group gets archived, it will be converted to the new groups format. Almost everything from your old group will be available in the archived group, with a few exceptions." Casually tossed in among those "few exceptions" was "the members of your old group."
That means that with this upgrade, Facebook can wipe out networks some people have been painstakingly building for years and make them have to start from scratch.
Our SIOA group has well over 15,000 members – but they will not be migrated to the "new group."
So who gets the upgrade option and why? Who decides? Here is a short list of some of the groups not given the option; therefore, they will lose all their members: Americans Calling for Impeachment of Obama; International Burn a Quran Day; Rally Point For Victims of FB-Jihad; Anti-CAIR; CAIR Observatory; World Wide Elimination Of Sharia Law; and The Order of The Burning Quran.
Meanwhile, groups that are not to be archived and will keep their membership include Americans Against Islamophobia; Islam … religion of peace; the Cordoba Initiative (that is, the group planning to build an Islamic supremacist mega-mosque at Ground Zero); Mosque); and LoonWatch.
Neil Munro over at the Daily Caller has picked up on the story and done some digging. He points out that the Coalition to Save Marriage in New York, which tried to stop a gay-marriage initiative in New York's State Assembly, didn't get the upgrade, but the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, which has fewer members than the Save Marriage group, got the upgrade with no problem. Jason McGuire of the Coalition to Save Marriage in New York commented: "Nobody else that I know got one. You do have to wonder if Facebook is leaning towards liberal positions, instead of being on open format."
A campaign has been launched on Facebook calling for men to beat Saudi women who drive their cars in a planned protest next month against the ultra-conservative kingdom's ban on women taking the wheel. The call comes as activists are demanding the release of Manal al-Sharif, a Saudi woman who was jailed for defying the ban.
The page, titled "The Iqal Campaign: June 17 for preventing women from driving," refers to the Arabic name for the cord used to hold on the traditional headdress worn by many men in the Gulf, advocating the cord be used to hit women who dare to drive.
It has drawn over 6,000 "likes" on the popular social networking website.
Some on the page proposed distributing boxes of Iqals to youths and encouraging them use them to hit women who participate in the June 17 protest.
One joked about the price of Iqals going up due to men buying them before the protest.
A couple weeks back I described a deeply disturbing development at Facebook here. Facebook management is dismantling groups, eliminating their memberships with an "upgrade" that is only available to some groups.
Neil Munro over at The Daily Caller has picked up on the story and done some digging:
Facebook’s managers are deploying a new software upgrade that will dismantle myriad groups of like-minded political activists unless they get a special software-key from the company.
But Facebook managers are providing very limited information about which groups are being favored with the new key, prompting some activists to complain about possible political favoritism among Facebook managers, and many other activists to experiment with techniques and tricks to get the needed upgrade-key.
“Who is being given the upgrade?” asked Pamela Geller, the New York organizer of a 15,000-member group opposed to Islamist political groups. Without the special key, groups lose access to their members, she said. “I’ve seen people really freaking out.”
Facebook’s software changes do not effect the individual pages that Facebook subscribers use to stay in contact with friends and to tout their relationships, statuses and accomplishments. The upgrade only effects the software that links Facebook’s “groups” of like-minded people, each of which is managed by one or more group administrators.
The groups vary in size from a single person to more than one million people. They have varying levels of activity from nothing to very active.
The new software-upgrade will automatically archive all groups. Once archived, each group’s past activity will be still be visible on Facebook, but the groups’ administrators will lose access to their lists of group members. That means the administrators lose contact with everyone in their groups, and will be forced to recruit all those members again – unless Facebook provides them with the special upgrade software.
With the upgrade, group-administrators can keep in contact with their original members, and get to use the upgraded software to help the group become more active.
That’s why the upgrade software is so important to Geller and other activists.
Geller’s “Stop Islamization of America” group has 15,062 members, but no upgrade-key, she said. If Facebook archives her group without allowing her to reach its members, she’ll have to rebuild the group from the scratch, one e-mail at a time, she said. “I can’t just sit down and write a message to 15,000 members,” she said. “Why not just give us the upgrade option?”
“The Coalition to Save Marriage in New York” is a group of 1,163 social-conservatives seeking to preserve traditional marriage’s role as an institution for parents and child-rearing. The group has been very active this year trying to derail a gay-marriage push in the state assembly, but the group doesn’t have the upgrade, said the group’s administrator, Jason McGuire in Rochester, N.Y. “Nobody else that I know got one,” he said. “You do have to wonder if Facebook is leaning towards liberal positions, instead of being on open format,” he said.
The Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence got the upgrade for its 1,000-member group. “We changed over very smoothly,” said David Churchill, the network-manager at the D.C.-based gun-control group. “We just basically clicked the upgrade button, checked it over, and we have a tremendous increase in participation,” he said.
The Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation’s “GLAAD open group” also got an upgrade for its 300 members. The group’s administrator did not respond to TheDC’s emails.
[...]
“Some groups will be given the opportunity to upgrade into the new design while others will need to re-create their groups,” said a statement from Andrew Noyes, the company’s manager for public policy communications.
The award of the upgrade-software is determined by the activity on each group, he said. “We determined what groups to archive based on a number of factors, including the amount of recent activity [and] we’re currently working on ways to refine our systems so as to not accidentally archive or move groups that were incorrectly characterized and we appreciate user feedback as we do so,” he said.
But that argument is unpersuasive, said Geller, because her group is large and active, yet still does not have the key that smaller groups have already received.
The activists’ worries about Facebook’s possible political tilt are fortified by the political activities of its founders and employees. The company’s employees donated heavily to the Obama campaign in 2008, just as did the employees of Google and Microsoft. Facebook-founder Chris Hughes workers as head of the online-organizing campaign for the Obama campaign, while company chief Mark Zuckerberg has declared himself to be an Obama supporter.
In the same election, Google‘s YouTube subsidiary also used its video-sorting technology to demote online-ads run by GOP candidate John McCain, even as Obama’s online-ads dominated YouTube’s display pages. Google’s website-ranking system is similarly opaque, fueling claims of political bias by pro-life groups and by groups that championed Hillary Clinton’s primary run in 2008.
The companies’ officials can also quietly provide valuable advice and favors for groups they personally support, or that can provide support to their company. For example, Noyes worked with gay-advocacy groups to add “domestic partnership” and “civil union” to Facebook’s option “status” description buttons, and also worked with federal officials to add notification-software to Facebook as part of a White House “anti-bullying” event in March.
Noyes also worked informally with gay activists to knock down Facebook pages they disliked. “We had a sort of informal relationship with GLAAD based around things people were seeing on Facebook that they believed needed to come down,” Noyes told Metro Weekly, according to a March 2011 article. “It was a very important, informal relationship that we had, because nine times out of 10, the content did violate our terms and we did take it down,” he said.
Bless all of the Atlas readers and freedon lovers who fought the call to war against the Jewish people. On March 18th, I asked Atlas readers to report a FACEBOOK page calling for another Islamic war against the Jews, a "Palestinian" Third Intifada. Knowing what we know about the malevolent use of social networking by the global jihadists (witness the "revolutions" across the Muslim world), starting a war against the Jews would be relatively easy in a population taught, urged, incited, and commanded to annihilate the Jewish people. Last I looked, there were over 300,000 "fans" of the page.
Despite previous statements saying they would monitor but not remove the controversial Facebook group calling for a Third Intifada, Facebook administrators shut down the group early Tuesday morning in response to enormous pressure from pro-Israel activists. All links to the group now go to users personal Facebook profile.
The group had been calling for a march on Israel to “liberate” Palestine beginning on May 15. It remains to be seen how Facebook will respond if similar groups emerge with similar message of a Third Intifada.
New media expert Andre Oboler, one of the first to discover the group was down, told HonestReporting that Facebook made the correct decision shutting down the group. “It’s about time,” he said. “Facebook needs to learn to distinguish between the right to ‘attack’ conceptual ideas, and the ‘wrong’ of attacking people be it because of their race, religion, nationality or political view. When they start to understand that, perhaps they will stop making so many mistakes.”
See our previous post on the issue for background on the issue.
I received this letter from a law student. It gives us an idea of just what we are up against. This best illustrates the chokehold the left has on every aspect of our culture.
I am contacting you so that maybe you can bring some attention to an issue of censorship practiced by Facebook. In particular the Facebook staff has deleted my accounts several times for creating/participating in groups critical of Islam. One such group that created a huge stir was "Fuck Islam" - prompting a wave of Muslim threats and counter groups threatening not only the safety of Facebook staff, but threatening to leave Facebook altogether. In response to these threats, Facebook deleted the group, and my administrator account. Their pretext was that the name was so bitterly offensive, it could not possibly have been created in accordance with Facebook's terms of use. As for deleting my account, no explanation was given. I created another group, entitled "The Society for the Eradication of Islam" - with a clear explanation that the goal was to counter the Islamic ideology, not to harass Muslims. This group was deleted after less than a week and 6 members, along with my other account. The irony is that groups such as "Fuck Christianity" and "Fuck Judaism" are still up and running with no complaint and no warnings issued whatsoever. To my knowledge these groups have never been seriously challenged by Facebook. Ironically enough, Facebook seemed to be concerned that there was a lot of hate speech being propagated by members of "Fuck Islam" - it is ironic because these instigators were Muslims who joined the group, and threatened to kill people.
In the scheme of things this probably isn't huge news - but I think it is important to expose Facebook for these "discretionary" abuses of its power. As it stands there are no groups on Facebook critical of Islam, only splintered people posting in other groups. Furthermore, Facebook has become a powerhouse for commercial interaction, and while they do reserve the rights to pretty much do anything they please, it seems that for people who choose to create business platforms or engage in commercial transactions, the potential of having an account deleted with no explanation or warning is problematic and dishonest practice.
P.S. I am a law student and I have been fed up with Facebook for a long time. I know you faced many legal challenges for your advertisements against Islam. I realize this is a novel situation but perhaps there can be some novel legal solution here for such censorship - based on commercial transactions. Furthermore, contacting Facebook is impossible by virtually all means, and it impossible to speak with a real person. Again, I admit this seems like a trivial matter, but when a giant powerhouse of social and commercial interactions spanning state lines and international boundaries begins to censor it's materials capriciously or under threats of duress, there must be some larger legal implications.
I also attended both of your rallies on June 6th and Sept 11th. I want to thank you for having autographed my copy of your latest book.
Thanks for reading and hopefully you will get back to me. If not, I appreciate you taking the time to read this.

"She re-posted it but this is an outrage... Facebook continues to do nothing when death threats are posted against her. Plus, there is still a FB group that wants to "Plug the hole in the Gulf with Sarah Palin"... You can imagine what the comments look like. We've complained for months but Facebook has never lifted a finger."
Facebook has banned my colleague and brave fighter, Anders Gravers begin_of_the_skype_highlighting end_of_the_skype_highlighting of SIOE. And yet fatwas against Rifqa Bary and Death to the Jews pages stay up for months.
It is still interesting how fast they removed her post.
I have a FB
account and I have looked at various Holocaust Denial and other Hate
pages.
I have complained the same way, clicking "hate speech" etc.
These were videos about denial of gas chambers, mocking of holocaust
victims, gassing and torturing Jews in the sickest ways and it took weeks to see
those pages taken down. Weeks. Yet hundreds complained. Most of those pages were
Muslim or Iranian in origin.
Why is this page still up? Why haven't the snipers at Facebook acted with the same speed as they did with Governor Palin?
Yesterday, I reported on the growing islamisation of Facebook. Vile Jew hating groups proliferate and those fighting the scourge of sharia in our societies are banned and deleted.
It is an outrage in the war of ideas that the voices of freedom and western values are being systematically shut down.
In the internet world of social networking Facebook is the premier
platform. Its reach is global and its user community numbers in the
hundreds of millions. According to statistics about Facebook posted on
Facebook’s own site
there are 350 million users, 50% of whom log in on “any given day”.
This means that at any given time there are likely at least 150 million
people logged in on the site. Facebook has deeply affected the way that
individuals and groups communicate and interact with one another.
Facebook’s rules are extensive and clearly listed on their “Statement of Rights”
page. However there are terms used that are open to interpretation.
Most specifically the nature of content posted on personal and group
pages is open to scrutiny and judgment by Facebook staff; action taken
by Facebook against its users sometimes appears arbitrary and harsh.
Accounts are disabled or removed generally with no warning or
explanation. Returning to the site and recovering one’s content can be
difficult or impossible. For people with large “friends lists” or who
use Facebook for professional purposes loss of their Facebook account
can have unpleasant consequences.
For many users especially those who access their accounts throughout
the day via mobile device (blackberry, etc.) Facebook is an almost
ubiquitous communications tool.
Many Facebook users express political views and opinions – often
challenging and unpopular views. There are millions of pages dedicated
to discussion of issues across the political and cultural spectrum.
SIOA, SIOE and
other like-minded groups as well as those holding opposing views use
Facebook extensively to get their messages out. With a potential
audience in the hundreds of millions the significance of Facebook to
those who wish to spread knowledge and engage in direct discussion with
interested people, often in real-time, the loss of a Facebook presence
can be significant.
Several days ago, without warning or explanation, and in an
apparently simultaneous action Facebook removed the personal accounts
of Anders Gravers, Stephen Gash, and Harald Andersen of SIOE and SIAD
(Denmark). Organizers of Stop Islamization of Bulgaria (Pavel
Chernov), and Stop Islamization of America (Kendra) also had their
personal Facebook accounts removed. As no explanation for these actions
has been provided, one can only speculate as to the cause and purpose
of these account removals.
While it is understood that Facebook is privately held and is not
required to provide access the removal of SIOA/SIOE organizers’
personal accounts appears to demonstrate a particular opinion on the
part of Facebook management, a certain bias against the message if the
not the individuals themselves. Notably, the organizer of the Jewish Internet Defense Force (JIDF) has long been banned from Facebook.
Facebook’s user guidelines regarding content can be interpreted in
any number of ways. Simultaneous account removal of multiple users
having a common viewpoint appears to demonstrate a negative bias
relating to the philosophical and political positions espoused by the
individuals mentioned above. Because almost every user of Facebook
could be said to be in violation of one or more guidelines at any given
time the removal of accounts of users with the same political positions
must therefore be specific and targeted rather than arbitrary.
There are many controversial individuals and groups on Facebook including Islamists, supporters of terrorism, Nazis, and even terrorists themselves,
etc. People having these views and worse remain on Facebook but those
having anti-jihad perspectives apparently are now targets for account
removal. How can this be explained?
It is understood that because of the reach of Facebook and its large
user community the Facebook “world” is another theater in the current
culture wars and in the existential war
that is Islamic jihad against the non-Muslim (kafir) civilizations of
the West. In the war of ideas that is ongoing in public and behind the
scenes (with much dissemination of opinion and information on the
internet) there are vigorous, important, and fascinating debates that
occur on Facebook pages hourly.
Facebook is a platform used for educating the people about the
threat that Islam and its warfare poses for our country and the entire
West. Kendra is particularly adept at online debate and had thousands
of Facebook friends following her posts and discussions prior to the
removal of her account without warning or explanation.
We have seen in recent events in Europe and the United States that
the message about the truth of Islam and its doctrine of jihad and
intolerance is making its way from scholarly fringes to a wider
audience. The message involves an acceptance of the fact that political
correctness and multiculturalism are empty and false notions that are
impediments to knowledge and understanding.
Political correctness and multiculturalism require the adherent of
these corrupt philosophies to jettison thousands of years of human and
civilizational history and experience so that a fairly recent
post-modernist utopian concept of how the world and humanity function
can be accepted. These false concepts must be destroyed so that the
truth can be discussed openly and understood.
Many in the United States and Europe do not want to let go of the
accepted (but generally unspoken) dogmas of political correctness and
multiculturalism; they refuse to discriminate. The ability and even the
desire to discriminate between right and wrong, good and evil, victim
and aggressor is now a rarity in our culture due to political
correctness and multiculturalism and the radical tolerance that such
utopian notions demand.
Events occurring in our daily lives and the historical record prove
the emptiness of these two barren philosophies. Preference for
fantasies over realities is rife across the culture now and is
foundational to the ongoing philosophical and moral conflicts we see
daily. The message of the dangers of Islam is spreading; how can it not
when Hassan at Fort Hood and the Christmas underwear bomber do the
horrors that they do to innocents and place their actions in an Islamic
doctrinal context as do all Islamist terrorists/jihadists?
If our existential enemies say that they hate us and must fight us
till we submit to Islamic domination because their doctrine tells them
so, it is folly for us to suggest that they are mistaken. These abysmal criminals have the authority of Koran, Sira, and Hadith
and the historical record to justify their statements. Our silly
western politically correct multiculturalists have nothing but their
fantasies, dreams and ignorance to support their positions.
The removal of SIOA and SIOE organizers accounts from Facebook may
indicate a pro-Islam or anti- anti-Jihad bias on the part of Facebook
management; we may never know. However, what is more likely is that
online discussion and debate as seen on the pages of the individuals
mentioned above has been effective.
Thousands of people have followed these online Facebook discussions.
Many now view the statements and actions of terrorists and Islamists in
a different light, now illuminated with their knowledge of Islamic
doctrine – a doctrine never taught to them in our institutions of
higher “education”. A great deal of learning and erudite discussion has
been occurring on the pages of Facebook.
The truth of Islamic jihad and intolerance is difficult to deflect,
even with politically correct multicultural biases and fantasies that
diminish the truth to something both unpalatable and unacceptable.
Islamic ideology is fundamental to what is happening across the world
today. A re-invigorated Islam fighting its jihad against the kafir West
does so because of ideology and doctrine. The doctrine behind this
ideology is available and can be studied
and understood. The falsehoods are falling away, in large part due to
the efforts of the people mentioned above and many others.

Misunderstanders
of Islam active on Facebook! "Police launch investigation into
anti-Semitic Facebook group," by Chloe Markowicz for TotallyJewish.com, February 4 (thanks to Philip):
Police have launched an urgent investigation into a
horrific Facebook group that gave graphic details of anti-Semitic
incidents perpetrated by its members against Ilford's Jewish community.
The group, created by a student at Loxford School of Science and
Technology, attracted more than 500 members in two weeks following its
launch last month and featured teenagers boasting about engaging in
anti-Semitic behaviour.
It featured messages from youths using language rife with spelling errors,
profanities and teenage colloquialisms.
One girl wrote: "Jews are the ones that killed prophets in the past.
Dirty filthy scum-bags. No wonder they have the curse of Allah upon
them. Burn Jew burn."
Another stated: "OMG! ii Saw a Jew Todaii ii Swearr downn Weariingg Dahh Hatt He Lookedd At Me Liike Man Knowsz Me [sic]."
She went on to describe screaming obscenities at the man and rudely telling him to go away.
In a further disturbing post, a girl bragged about aggressively confronting
a Jewish woman in Argos after she was "looking at me". She wrote: "Looool i Had a Fight Wif 1 Urgh in Argos [sic]."
The Jewish News was informed about the group, created by a student at Loxford School, by a private investigator in Australia. It has since been removed from the popular social networking site....
Several comments on the vile Facebook site include misguided
references to Islam and the Koran as justification for targeting Jews.
One female youth wrote: "We hate Jews for the sake of Allah as he has told us to do in the Koran."
The group page included offensive jokes invoking pejorative
stereotypes about Jews and money as well as an anti-Semitic cartoon.
There was also a link to a YouTube video entitled "Kill All Christians and Jews".
In addition several members expressed anti-Israeli sentiment. There
was a photograph of graffiti saying "Jihad 4 Israel" and a link to
another YouTube video of "a brave Palestinian girl standing up to
Israeli soldiers".
Mike Gardner, director of communications at the CST, said he was
left "utterly chilled" by the casual way that the youths displayed
their anti-Semitism.
He said: "It shows how new media is now facilitating the most
shocking anti-Semitism among groups of youngsters, as if hatred and
violence and gross ignorance were all just a part of their normal lives.
Mike, it's what they're taught in their mosques and schools. It has
nothing to do with Facebook or "new media" per se, or "gross ignorance"
of anything except the idea that the Qur'an and Islam should be open to
questioning rather than blind obedience.
Rifqa drives Muslims mad. Facebook fatwa - this from today alone (here and here). And now this. Rifqa is the dajjal -- 45 members and counting.
Scriptures reveal Dajjal will have one eye. Rifqa Bary has one eye. You be the judge.
COLUMBUS, Ohio: At only age 17, Fathima Rifqa Bary has already managed to create
one of the most controversial national news stories in the United States. Her
heinous allegations have tried to give Islam a bad name and taint the reputation
of Noor Islamic Cultural Center (NICC), one of the most prominent mosques of
Columbus, Ohio.
She and her family left their Sri Lankan hometown in
2000. Bary, who had lost sight in one eye, hoped to find a cure in the United
States. What she found, instead, was religion. Bary left Islam four years ago
and secretly converted to Christianity. According to her testimony, her father
recently learned of her conversion and threatened to kill her, prompting her to
run away from home.
An openly declared Christian on Facebook, Bary
corresponded with Florida pastor Blake Lorenz of the Global Revolution Church in
Orlando. Accepting his offer of help, she boarded a Greyhound bus and fled to
the pastor’s home. Bary’s parents not knowing the whereabouts of their daughter,
filed a missing person’s report. As three weeks passed and police involvement
intensified, Lorenz finally admitted to sheltering the runaway teen. Bary has
currently been placed in foster care and her case awaits hearing in the Florida
family courts.
Rifqa’s father, Mohammad Bary, has repeatedly denied ever
threatening to kill his daughter. He claims to have known of her conversion for
quite awhile. “When she was 14 ... when she wanted to do some babysitting, she
put (on the application) I’m Christian. And that was the first time. Then one
year ago, my son came and told me that she was going around school with a bible,
trying to convince other kids.”
Muhammad Bary states that he accepted her
conversion. He claims to be a liberal father who allowed Rifqa to be a
cheerleader and wear clothes outside of the Islamic dress code. He himself had
gone to a Christian school and his best friend was a Christian. He said that
this whole matter was the result of a family argument blown out of proportion.
“My daughter is a minor. She has been kidnapped by the pastor. Somebody came to
Ohio and took her. The Evangelicals have brainwashed and have coached her what
to say. They are using her and she is a victim. I just want her to stay at home
and be part of the family.”
Her mother added tearfully: “She is my only
daughter, I want her home.”
The local news channels poured forth images
of Rifqa. Her 5’ 2”, 90 pound stature shook vigorously as she cried:” They love
God more than they love me. It is an honor to kill me. I am fighting for my life
here you don’t understand, I cannot go back to Ohio.” Rifqa sobbed
uncontrollably on pastor Lorenz’s shoulder. Christian right-wingers in the media
sympathized with her attacking the “Islamic Shariah” which they said prescribed
the death penalty for apostates.
The Columbus police have said they do
not see Mohammad Bary as a threat to his daughter. As Bary’s lawyer demanded
that the case be moved from Florida to Ohio, Rifqa immediately changed her tone
and started making statements against NICC. She claimed that her parents
attended the mosque and adhered to its teachings, which supported and promoted
terrorist activities and encouraged honor killing.
Her lawyer John
Steinberger issued a 35-page memorandum, highlighting how Bary’s life would be
in “clear and present danger” if returned to Ohio due to her parents’
affiliation with NICC. He attacked everyone from the mosque’s director Hani Saqr
to its other active members. Local radio and television stations promptly
shifted their focus to the mosque and its alleged ties to terrorism. A Fox News
truck was seen outside the mosque during taraweeh prayers. The mosque
consequently began receiving concerned phone calls and even hate mail from those
who were convinced that Bary would be killed due to her conversion.
In an
effort to set the facts straight, NICC invited major television networks such as
CBS, ABC and Fox to visit the Noor premises. They were also given a press
release that said: “NICC categorically denies all allegations made against its
community — NICC records indicate that Rifqa attended only three Sunday classes
in 2007.” This confirms Muhammad Bary’s claims of belonging to a different
mosque.
The press release further stated: “This is a family law issue
that is currently being handled by the Florida family courts. NICC believes that
attempts to draw the Muslim community into this conflict are a smokescreen
hiding an effort to exploit Rifqa and her family. Unfortunately, hate groups
appear to be using this family matter as an attempt to further their religious
and political goals.”
When contacted by Arab News, an NICC official, who
wished to remain anonymous, said: “This is nothing new, right-wing Christians
have always attacked active mosques. Noor is a very prominent mosque. It caters
to 10,000 Muslims in central Ohio. We have very successful interfaith programs.
We have prominent visitors like congressmen, and the president of Bangladesh
visited us. We have even been invited to the White House.”
Is NICC
considering any legal action for this defamation? Adnan Mirza, an NICC
spokesperson, said that at this time they are not. He said NICC felt that the
case was already in court and the legal process would show that those
accusations were not true.
Muslims, who attend the NICC, were outraged.
“I have been coming to this mosque since it opened. I have never heard one
extremist, terroristic sermon. They only tell us to be better parents, neighbors
and be exemplary in our behavior to non-Muslims.” said a taraweeh prayer
attendee.
Members of other faith groups have also supported NICC. Talking
to Arab News, at a recent event, Rev. Tim Ahrens said that he was ashamed by the
accusations of pastor Lorenz. That it was not based on Jesus’ teachings. “It is
not news but a smear campaign. I have known Hani Saqr for the last 20 years. I
am ashamed to see people smear Noor. We stand with you shoulder to shoulder.
This center has blessed central Ohio.”
Ahrens also said people made
statements against Islam and NICC because of “fear and hate and lack of
knowledge. That it is coming from elements who call themselves Christians is
troubling to me as it does not reflect the values of Christ. I have only ever
found graciousness and kindness in my dealings with Muslims.”
LICRA, The International League against Racism and Anti-Semitism – or Ligue Internationale Contre le Racisme et l'Antisémitisme (LICRA) in French— was established in 1926, and is opposed to intolerance, xenophobia and exclusion. They are fighting back and taking on the anti-semitism at Facebook.
The LICRA's aim is to stay in permanent alertness concerning any kind
of discrimination. It fights against everyday racism and the
banalization of xenophobic acts. It helps the victims who are most of
the time not aware of their rights. It pays attention to any racist
speech in the media. It does not want in any case to alter the press's
freedom of speech, but only to find and correct any hate or
discrimination incitement. It also makes sure that any negationist
document is removed from sale. Moreover, it sues websites that publish
racist or anti-semite content, and warns the hosts about the risks
their bring upon themselves. Finally, it attacks racist contents in
some political speeches. The convictions that have already been made
prove that these are crimes, not points of view.

Dear Mr. Zuckerberg,
The International League against Racism and Antisemitism (LICRA) has
fought racism, antisemitism, Holocaust denial and negation of genocide and
crimes against humanity in all forms of expression for more than 80 years.
It defends the moral interests, honor and memory of all deported persons and
victims.
The International Network Against Cyber Hate (INACH) is a
18-country strong network that counters multiple forms of online
discrimination and hate, including Holocaust denial.
In that light,
our organizations are very concerned by the positions your company has taken
with respect to online content that denies the Holocaust.
Holocaust denial is one aspect of antisemitism. So-called science has
been used to deny Jews – and others – the status of human being and today
the Internet is used as a perfect disseminator to perpetuate this hatred,
e.g. by those that see gain in reviving the Nazi-era. Indeed, when President
Obama visited Buchenwald, he condemned the “ignorant and hateful” statements of
Holocaust deniers.
Many European countries that suffered deeply as
a result of the Holocaust have passed legislation condemning racism,
including denial of the crimes of World War II. This is why Facebook has
undertaken to comply with these laws by preventing access to online Holocaust
Denial in those countries. However commendable this is, it is an action
based on fear of litigation. Surely it would be more fully justified and
honorable if Facebook would change its policy and take action against this
harmful content irrespective of country, but based on moral, ethical and
civic grounds.
I hope that you will reconsider Facebook’s position on
this very sensitive issue.
Yours truly,
Patrick

Facebook Launches Massive Attacks Against Anti-Terrorists By Benyamin B.
Last week, three anti-terrorism organizations were targeted in a massive crackdown by Facebook. The organizations - The Anti-Terrorism Coalition (ATC), Facebook-based American Infidel (AI)
and Facebook-based Infidel Forces (IF) - were involved in taking over
Islamic terrorist, pro-terrorist and other hateful groups operating on
the popular networking site.
IF, which was formed
in 2008, had originally been created to counter Facebook's bias against
anti-terrorist, patriotic and other freedom-loving groups and
individuals. While countless terrorist, pro-terrorist and other hateful
groups and users have been allowed to operate freely on Facebook,
friendly users and groups have constantly been banned and shut down,
respectively. Thus, the creators of IF decided to both "level the
playing field" and combat cyber terrorists, at the same time.
By then, Facebook's
blatant bias toward hostile groups and against allied groups was beyond
obvious. David Appletree, the leader of the Jewish Internet Defense Force (JIDF),
was (and still is) getting banned frequently for his group's actions
against hostile groups. The JIDF had been involved in taking over
hostile groups and getting others banned, by having massive numbers of
its users report them to Facebook. In one instance, David Appletree was
banned for being an administrator of a group that was taken over by
Islamic hackers, while no action was taken against the hackers.
This led IF to take
over hostile groups and infiltrate others by sending in operatives
posing as Islamic terrorist sympathizers. The AI, and later, the ATC
both subscribed to IF's effort. Operating in accordance with Facebook's
terms, IF began to join hostile groups left without administrators and
grant themselves administrative powers.
By early this month, the allied effort had managed to take over more
than 150 hostile groups and prevent the hostile takeover of
approximately 15 - 20 friendly groups. Additionally, several friendly
groups that had been taken over by hostiles were "liberated" by the
allies, after they took those groups over themselves.
It was then that
Facebook launched its mass purges against the AI, IF and ATC. In late
June, Facebook sent a warning to IF and AI members for "uploading" a
picture of an Israeli flag, in which the Star of David was replaced
with a swastika, to the group "Stop the israelian Genocide against Ghaza".
Facebook staff also took down the picture. In reality, this group had
actually just been taken over by allied forces and they had not yet had
the chance to change the picture. In fact, the picture had been
uploaded by the group's terrorist and anti-Semitic creators at least
several months ago. Interestingly, during this lengthy period of time,
Facebook did not take any action against the group or its original
administrators.
About a week later, on July 2, Facebook disabled the accounts of two high-ranking AI members (who were also administrators of AI's Facebook group).
Asked to be identified only as Ben and Hodge, the two had been active
supporters of IF's effort and had lent them a hand on several
occasions. Then, on July 5, IF leader Jack Johnson, several other IF
members and ATC member Jack Turner were banned by Facebook. This was
followed with the banning of IF's second in command, Mike Jenkins, on
the following day. Facebook also banned every single undercover account
being used by the three allied groups, effectively shutting down all of
their attempts to infiltrate hostile groups.
In the aftermath of
these attacks, almost all the groups controlled by IF and its allies
were left without administrators, and thus, susceptible to hostile
takeover. Within several days, approximately a quarter of all these
groups had fallen back into enemy hands.
In addition, any
threads and posts made on any Facebook groups at all by any of the
banned individuals were automatically deleted when they were banned.
Thus many anti-terrorism groups, in particular, lost an overwhelming
amount of posts and threads. The AI group suffered perhaps the greatest
data loss of them all. This completely hampered the debates,
discussions and the dialogue going on at these groups. One AI member
expressed great dismay that the debates he had been having with a
Muslim individual at the AI group had been deleted, adding that "they
were extremely respectful and informative."
Not one of the
individuals banned has thus far been able to get Facebook to reactivate
their accounts, with a staff member by the name of Lysander explicitly
telling both Ben and Hodge that they had violated Facebook's terms,
that he was not able to "provide further explanation" of their
violations, that their decision to ban them was final and that all of
their subsequent inquiries would be ignored. IF leader Jack Johnson has
provided a rather detailed account of exactly what happened on the ATC
Website: http://www.atcoalition.com/news/viewarticle.php?id=29.
To my knowledge, never
before, in the history of Facebook, has such a massive crackdown as
this ever taken place. In fact, few Western companies have been able to
match Facebook in their ultra-Chamberlainian actions. This incident
ranks up there with Yahoo's targeting of the ATC and other allied
websites in June of 2003 and Network Solutions' banning of the website
where Geert Wilders planned to release Fitna in March of 2008.
And while us and our
allies have abided by the law and by Facebook's terms, countless
numbers of Facebook groups and users that in the past and present put
up swastikas, post pictures with the Star of David crossed out, post
pictures of American and other allied flags being burned, call for
violence against non-Muslims, hack into accounts and groups (thus also
breaking the law) and commit other despicable acts are, for the most
part, unmolested by Facebook. In fact, only when friendly groups such
as the JIDF ask massive numbers of their supporters to report
individual hostile groups to Facebook staff does any action get taken
against such groups.
In the meantime, my organization - the ATC - will continue to expose the radical leftist and authoritarian nature of Facebook.

La
LICRA APPELLE Facebook A prendre des mesures
contre
citoyenne.
It seems there has been an edict declared from on high. Recently there has been an FB crackdown, an upsurge in deletions and suspensions on facebook, all anti-terror related. Here's one of many anecdotal stories, this from Elaine, "I had photos of the Iranian dissidents on my FB page whom I support, for obvious reasons. I had links to various articles about radical Islam, these items have been removed. A friend informed me she tried to forward my link for American Congress for Truth, the organization founded by Brigitte Gabriel, which gets the word out about radical Islam, and my friend was "blocked" from the content. I am being censored!! There is a story here. Bret, I had tried to e mail you last week when you requested story ideas, and tried to forward you a link about the Saudi Academy proposed expansion in Fairfax, I could not send you the link, that was blocked, too."
This Facebook message mirrors other notes I have received in recent days. It all points to a shut down of grass roots efforts by good folks to organize and pull our country back from the brink.
Obama has been a free speech opponent since taking office. The "fairness doctrine", small media councils, staged press conferences and town hall meetings teeming with un-indicted co-conspirators CAIR and ISNA. He is squelching free expression. Now Facebook is the frontier.
Obama is no stranger to Facebook. He's right tight with Chris Hughes, the 24 year old billionaire and founder of Facebook -- which has over 175 million members. He was an essential part of putting President Barack Obama in the White House. Obama has continued to use the internet to push his trillion dollar budget through congress.
Just recently, President Barack Obama used the internet and connected with online supporters and nonsupporters of his economic policies. Over 77,000 Americans online responded to the internet forum about economic policies and political issues
How did Chris Hughes help President Barack Obama to win the election? Chris Hughes used Web 2.0 social networking to connect millions of Americans to President Barack Obama to get him elected to the presidency. Chris Hughes 2.0 technology connected over 150 million users worldwide during the presidential election campaign of 2008.
Chris Hughes created the comprehensive website, MyBarackObama.com to reach the grassroots of the American poliotican movement through the use of internet telecommunications.
Chris Hughes offered site usage of the MYBO accounts and helped to host community election events. These activities contributed significantly to the presidential election win of Barack Obama. The site also helped voters to find local polling booths in their community in which to vote.
Although the election is over, MYBO is still active. President Obama looks through MyBO website and urges supporters to stay engaged in efforts to bring positive political change to the nation. Chris Hughes plans to continue the MYBO website and may even permanently leave FaceBook to become part of the presidential web team.
Obama 's tentacles are all over Facebook. He gets what he wants, and we are under attack on Facebook. Benyamin B is a co-founder and co-President of the Anti-Terrorism Coalition (ATC) and the director of Project Expose - the code name for the ATC's Database of Terrorist Websites and eGroups (ATCD) and the effort behind it (December 2003 - August 2005). He has been involved in the fight against terrorism and collectivism since 2002. He has written this exclusive piece for Atlas on the massive wave of censorship.

In the meantime, my organization - the ATC - will continue to expose the radical leftist and authoritarian nature of Facebook.
Facebook has decided not to remove groups that deny the Holocaust. This policy contradicts its own "statement of rights and responsibilities",
which clearly states "you will not post content that is hateful".
Facebook seems to be ignorant of the inherent danger of Holocaust
denial, the deeply hateful nature of it, and international efforts
against racism. It either fails to understand the responsibility it has
to society, or it has placed profit far above morality.
Holocaust
denial is illegal in 13 countries. Other countries, such as Australia,
have broader laws prohibiting racial vilification – the carrying out of
a public act that will "offend, insult, humiliate or intimidate another
person or group of people" who are targeted because of "race, colour or
national or ethnic origin". In the UK there has long been a debate over
strengthening anti-hate laws to close gaps that have been exploited by
the likes of the BNP. One gap, for example, makes it an offence to
incite hate, but not to be directly hateful to a victim (the case
prevented by the Australian laws). The law is, however, a bare minimum.
More action against hate is often required, as the National Union of
Students has shown with its "no platform policy" – a total boycott of proscribed racist and fascist groups.
As Anthony Julius
has explained, combating Holocaust denial "requires the recognition
that denial is an especially offensive form of antisemitism" and that
"the presence of denial material on the net is treated with as much
seriousness as is the presence of other kinds of offensive material".
At the same time as defending its unpopular position to allow Holocaust
denial, Facebook has been on a crusade against pictures showing breastfeeding mothers. Either its priorities are scrambled or someone is asleep at the wheel.
Facebook's
allowance of Holocaust denial comes despite a 2007 resolution from the
UN general assembly that "urges all member states unreservedly to
reject any denial of the Holocaust as a historical event, either in
full or in part, or any activities to this end". It comes despite EU
legislation from 2005 that asks countries to pass laws that make
Holocaust denial "punishable as a criminal offence". Facebook's move
comes at a time when the British public are still recovering from the
election of the BNP's Nick Griffin, a Holocaust denier, to represent
them in the European parliament. Facebook is a powerful social
networking tool – in times like these, with racism across Europe
rising, what sort of impact does it have when it helps Holocaust
deniers to network and spread their message?
Protest Launched Against Facebook for being Pro-Jihad, Anti-Israel
The David Horowitz Freedom Center is calling upon all supporters of freedom of speech and of Israel to join in its protest against Facebook, the Internet social networking site. Facebook has allowed a group of hackers who openly support the terrorist group Hizballah to take over and destroy what was once the largest pro-Israel site on Facebook. In a blunt act of internet censorship, Facebook added insult to injury by disabling the account of that site’s creator, 14-year-old Todd Snider.
Snider established the Facebook group called “I Wonder How Quickly I Can Find 1,000,000 People Who Support Israel,” in July 2008. By February 2009 it was Facebook’s largest pro-Israel site, with over 180,000 members.
But on February 15, 2009, Snider’s Facebook group was hacked and destroyed by a pro-Hizballah group calling itself “Lebanese Shee’a Hackers.” The hackers completely erased the original site content and replaced it with threatening, obscenity-laced pro-jihad, anti-Israel propaganda datelined Bint Jbeil, South Lebanon: “DEAR ADMINS, DON’T WASTE MY AND YOUR TIME , LEAVE THIS GROUP ITS BETTER FOR BOTH THIS IS THE LAST TIME ILL EDIT YOU INFO , NEXT TIME…”
Facebook allowed the hackers to destroy Snider’s site, answering his repeated entreaties for help with blandly evasive form letters.
And now, after the appearance on March 6 of an article about the incident in FrontPageMagazine.com (“Facebook Jihad” by Robert Spencer), Facebook has taken the additional step of disabling Snider’s account altogether, capitulating to the jihadi hackers and accusing Snider himself of “misusing” Facebook’s “features.”
Facebook’s outrageous action is not only an assault on free speech and internet freedom and a breach of its own social networking protocols, but also appeasement of a group of hackers who have invaded Facebook’s space and who openly avow their support for the jihad terrorist group Hizballah.
We therefore urge all Facebook members who oppose Islamist terror and internet censorship to contact the site administrators through the Facebook contact form, and all others to join us in protesting against Facebook’s outrageous behavior by writing to abuse@facebook.com.

COUNTER-TERRORISM agents have launched an investigation
into a multi-national terror threat made against an Australian using internet
social networking website Facebook.
The first investigation of its kind was prompted by a death threat emanating
from the Middle East against a Jewish woman and her family from an alleged
member of the Iranian-backed terror outfit Hezbollah.
The woman received the death threat from the self-proclaimed terrorist
through the website after she declined the man's online "friendship request".
The Weekend Australian understands the man - who described himself
as Ibrahim Dirani and a member of a Lebanon-based Facebook group - was banned by
the network after police launched their investigation this week. The victim -
who lives in Melbourne and is a member of an Israeli-based Facebook group - told
police the alleged Lebanon-based Hezbollah operative promised to kill her and
her family.
According to police documents, the man wrote: "I am Hezbollah and I am going
to kill you and all of your family - promise you."
The investigation comes as security agencies question their ability to
address serious online threats made against Australian citizens by foreign
culprits.
"The international nature of the website makes it very hard for agencies to
... physically track down those involved," a security source said.
"People on those websites often set up their pages under false details."
Counter-terrorism expert Anthony Bergin yesterday warned Facebook users that
terrorist networks might also be using the website to attract recruits.
The more the wold caves, submits, apologizes, funds, appeases, ass kisses the jihad, the more the stark raving madness will careen mercilessly out of control. There is nothing stopping them, except the SECOND AMENDMENT.

"I would give the greatest sunset in the world for one sight of New York's skyline. Particularly when one can't see the details. Just the shapes. The shapes and the thought that made them. The sky over New York and the will of man made visible. What other religion do we need? And then people tell me about pilgrimages to some dank pesthole in a jungle where they go to do homage to a crumbling temple, to a leering stone monster with a pot belly, created by some leprous savage. Is it beauty and genius they want to see? Do they seek a sense of the sublime? Let them come to New York, stand on the shore of the Hudson, look and kneel. When I see the city from my window - no, I don't feel how small I am - but I feel that if a war came to threaten this, I would throw myself into space, over the city, and protect these buildings with my body." Ayn Rand
