Do What Islam Says, Not as Islam Does

In the ongoing "Danish cartoon" manufactured controversery, I pointed out the obvious herein my previous post speaking to the flagrant hypocrisy and medacity of the Muslim world;

I wrote of this Eurabian moment here and here. Calling for death to America, death to Israel, that's ok. Incendiary antisemitic cartoons that run on a daily basis against the Jews in the Arab Islamic press? Accusations of blood libel against the Jews? Part of the school curriculum.

Well her Tom Gross, Mideast Media Analysis, does a magnificent job of illustrating my point here;

Cartoons from the Arab World
A selection of cartoons from the media of seven Arab countries (Jordan, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Bahrain, Syria and Egypt) and from the Palestinian Authority is displayed below. A number of these countries are regarded as moderate or allied to the West. Most print media in the Arab world are under the full or partial control of the ruling regimes.

One picture can sometimes be deadlier than a thousand words.

-- Tom Gross

The cartoon above, clearly depicting the railroad to the death camp at Auschwitz-Birkenau – but with Israeli flags replacing the Nazi ones – is from the Jordanian newspaper Ad-Dustur (October 19, 2003). The sign in Arabic reads: “Gaza Strip or the Israeli Annihilation Camp.” This accentuates the widespread libel that Israel’s policies towards the Palestinians have been comparable to Nazi actions towards Jews. Jordan is supposedly a moderate country at peace with Israel.

In this cartoon, from Al-Watan newspaper in Qatar (June 23, 2002), Ariel Sharon is shown watching on the sidelines as an Israeli plane crashes into New York’s World Trade Center. The Arabic words alongside the Twin Towers are “The Peace.” This cartoon restates the widely held myth in the Arab world that Israel and the Jews were responsible for the 9/11 attacks which were in fact carried out by al-Qaeda.

The cartoon above, from Arab News (April 10, 2002), shows Ariel Sharon wielding a swastika-shaped axe to chop up Palestinian children. Arab News is a Saudi-based English language daily which is supposedly one of the Arab world’s more moderate papers.

In September 2005, at a time when non-Arab Moslem-majority states like Pakistan and Afghanistan were making peace overtures to Israel, even supposedly moderate Arab states like Qatar were continuing their anti-Semitic approach. Above, Israeli jets over Gaza form a swastika in this cartoon published on September 27, 2005 in Al-Watan (Qatar).

This cartoon from the Internet site of Omayya Joha, portrays an Israeli soldier who, having chopped off the foot of a Palestinian man, holds up a bloody hand to the camera and orders “No photographs.” Omayya Joha is one of the staff cartoonists employed by Al-Hayat Al-Jadeeda, the Palestinian Authority’s official daily newspaper. Her cartoons continue to regularly appear in the official Palestinian press.

Above, Ariel Sharon is shown sitting in a large cup overflowing with blood. This cartoon, also by Omayya Joha, appeared in Al-Hayat Al-Jadeeda, the Palestinian Authority’s official daily newspaper, on April 22, 2003.

In this cartoon, from Al-Watan (Oman) (August 10, 2002), Jewish acts are equated with those of the Nazis. This Nazi-type anti-Semitic caricature of a Jew has a hooked nose, a hunched back, has no shoes, and is sweating.

In the above cartoon, from Akhbar Al-Khalij (Bahrain) (June 10, 2002), the anti-Semitic caricature of a Jew on the right says: “Say: ‘I hate the Arabs!’” and American president George W. Bush, made to resemble a parrot, repeats: “I hate the Arabs, I hate the Arabs.”

Above, another cartoon from the Internet site of official Palestinian Authority cartoonist Omayya Joha, showing alleged Jewish control (in the form of snakes) of the United States. The snake was often used to portray Jews in historic European anti-Semitic images.

This cartoon, from May 13, 2005 (a month when many western papers were claiming that the Palestinian Authority media had adopted a more moderate tone), shows a Jew impaling the northern region of a map of the Islamic world with the flag of Israel, with blood spurting out. At the lower end is what seems to be an Arab man hanging upside down, holding a white flag of surrender. This cartoon appeared in Al-Hayat Al-Jadeeda, the official daily newspaper of the Palestinian Authority.

This cartoon, from the Syrian newspaper Al-Ahram (May 29, 2002), shows an anti-Semitic caricature of a Jew with a long beard and hooked nose, fuelling the “World Media” with “Zionist Media” propaganda, while in the background bombs are falling on the Moslem al-Aqsa shrine on Jerusalem’s Temple Mount. This cartoon stereotypes Jews, repeats the anti-Semitic myth that the Jews control the world media, and adds the lie that the Israeli government has damaged the al-Aqsa complex on the Temple Mount.

The cartoon above, with text in English designed for a foreign audience, was posted on the official website of the Palestinian Authority State Information Center on April 6, 2003. The Palestinian Authority State Information Center regularly posts ugly anti-Israel and anti-American cartoons, including this reiteration of the anti-Semitic blood libel that Jews kill non-Jewish children.

The cartoon above, from the Egyptian weekly Al-Ahram al-Arabi (June 8, 2002), shows not only members of the Likud party murdering Arabs, but long-time Labor Party leader and Israeli “dove” Shimon Peres standing aside and applauding with bloody hands. Egypt is the second highest recipient of U.S. aid in the world. The U.S. senate has approved a $1.84 billion aid package for Egypt for 2006.

This cartoon is from Al-Watan (Qatar), May 13, 2003. The U.S. and Israel are shown eating from two sides of an apple that represents “the Arab states”. This cartoon is also noteworthy since it was published in Qatar, home to the influential Al Jazeera TV network. Qatar is considered by many in the U.S. State Department to be a U.S. ally and a relatively moderate state.

The cartoon above, from Arab News, depicts rats wearing Stars of David and skullcaps. They scurry backwards and forwards through holes in the wall of a building called “Palestine House.” Arab News, an English-language daily widely read by expats in Saudi Arabia, is widely-regarded as a moderate publication. It is published by a state-owned Saudi corporation. The imagery in the cartoon may well be inspired by a well-known scene from the Nazi film “Jew Suess,” to which it bears a close resemblance – a scene in which Jews are depicted as vermin to be eradicated by mass extermination.

CRUNCHTIME at the IAEA Right Now

Iran's fate being discussed as we speak at the IAEA right now, late afternoon, Vienna. I am confident they will do the right thing and refer Iran to the UNSC.

Iran is a monstrous aggressor whose first aggression is against their own people. The only thing that would stop them from starting a nuclear war is America .

Their wild rhetoric and accelerated nuclear activity.

Iran  has ratcheted up the stakes dramatically. But let's evaluate. Iran is a regional superpower. Like superpowers in the past, they project power, they project power through a nuclear umbrella and through terrorist networks they have already laid whether that be in Iraq or Afghanistan or Lebanon or among the Palestinians.

The critical time is NOW,

because of their belligerent announcements to the IAEA,  removing the seals, re-operating the enrichment facilities and that they'll be running cascades ( the only thing they don't know how to do yet to operate a bomb - running cascades) - those groupings of centrifuges so that they can enrich enough material to produce bombs. They are now focused on the last part that they don't know how to do. And we are facing it right now.

The referral to the UBSC is positive momentum......if all this activity (in Europe, the IAEA, security council referral, sanctions) is successful, that's great, if not it is another message to Iran that they can't keep sticking their finger in the eyeball of the world. This is not just America's problem. This is everyone's problem.  At that point,  it's the military's problem.

The are the days that try men's souls. Our first immediate goal hs been acheieved, goal, to get the international community(Russia and China included) to deal with this NOW.

Iran is not omnipotent. It's a minority regime, they are vulnerable. They are highly dependent  on the world for trade, for legitimacy, for popularity at home. Their economy is a basket case as it is. If you start shutting down their ability to import, they don't even have refining capabilities so  nothing can run in Iran without imported oil from Europe so there's enough leverage to make them stop. Most of their imports are from the West are industrial goods. They need those imports to operate their factories. They already have very high unemployment. What would happen if somebody got up and said NO MORE FACTORY PIECES, NO MORE MACHINERY FOR YOU? Think of the implications of  that would have inside Iran.

They are not all powerful, they are highly vulnerable. They make it appear that they are all powerful........and everyone believes them, but they are an empty shell.

If we stop their soccer team from running around Europe (yes, really - I too had no idea how enormously important this is to the Iranians until I really started looking at that as a meaningful sanction) ), shutting  down their diplomatic offices in Europe, if they are taken to the security council, This is the way to make them stop. The were stopped before when they were faced with censure, with a challenge  from the world.  But they continue when they feel they can call our bluff.  IRAN MUST BE MARGINIALZIED AND OSTRACIZED BY THE WORLD COMMUNITY. MUST!

They may be Radical Islamists but they understand power

Maneuvering Intensifies Over Iran

Buy_danish2_3 The entire Muslim world has gone up in arms against Denmark and boycotted all Danish products since a newspaper in Denmark published cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohamed that some people found offensive. See my post here  on the blackmailing of the Danish people.

The outcome of their outrage culminated in attacks on Danes in Saudi, the bombing of churches in Iraq, and a declaration by an Iraqi terrorist group of Jihad on any Danish or Norwegian target in the world, despite the fact that the Newspaper has apologized over and over again. Actually, despite the apology, the boycott is still in effect, and it seems that the movement now aims to continue it indefinitely. IMHO, they never should have apologized.

Syria recalls ambassador from Denmark over cartoons
-Syria has recalled its ambassador from Denmark over cartoons that have caused uproar among Muslims who deem them offensive to Islam's Prophet Mohammad, the state news agency said on Wednesday.

Syria, great advocate of human rights, supporter of all religious freedoms, and current home of Saddam's WMDs, is upset? I haveDanish_boycott_cartoon one word for Syria...........HARIRI!

Boycott the Boycott! Anti-Boycott so to speak, or a boycott the boycott movement (We got web-banners and everything). We are mostly doing it for our love for Danish cows, who have never gone crazy on us like their british counterparts. And we would love to have your help to get the word out about it and encourage them to buy Danish to counter the boycott.

The Egyptian blog, Rantings of the Sand Monkey has  the post on the anti-boycott. We would really appreciate it if you helped supporting us by mentioning it on your blog ,or by putting a banner up on your website.
In other words, encourage people to not to have a cow and to buy danish.

Cartoon Rage vs. Freedom of Speech Robert Spencer

How growing Muslim anger over cartoons of Muhammad threatens a basic freedom of Western civilization. More>

Organisation of the Islamic Conference secretary general Ekmeleddin IhsanogluDanish_cartoon_muhammed_1 told reporters in Cairo Sunday that the international body would "ask the UN general assembly to pass a resolution banning attacks on religious beliefs."

The deputy secretary general of the Arab League, Ahmed Ben Helli, confirmed that contacts were under way for such a proposal to be made to the     United Nations.

"Consultations are currently taking place at the highest level between Arab countries and the OIC to ask the UN to adopt a binding resolution banning contempt of religious beliefs and providing for sanctions to be imposed on contravening countries or institutions," he said.

Twelve cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed, published in Denmark's Jyllands-Posten daily last September and reprinted in a Norwegian magazine earlier this month, sparked uproar in the Muslim world where images of the prophet are considered blasphemous.

Officials in Muslim countries and various religious bodies have expressed anger at the cartoons, while the editors of the newspapers have defended their publication on the grounds of freedom of expression.

Muslim wrath has spread rapidly in the Middle East with Gulf retailers pulling Danish products off their shelves and protestors gathering outside Danish embassies.

Syria and Bahrain were the latest Arab countries to join the chorus.

Consider this, Syria...........murderers, invaders.............outraged.

"Syria calls on the Danish government to take the necessary measures to punish the culprits. The dialogue of civilisations is based on mutual respect," said an official quoted by the official Syrian news agency on Sunday.

The Bahraini cabinet, at a meeting on Sunday, condemned the cartoons "which are a deliberate attack against the glorious Prophet Mohammed and have angered Muslims the world over."

State Minister for Cabinet Affairs Sheikh Ahmed Attiyatallah al-Khalifa said the government "warned against the negative repercussions" of the cartoons' publication.

Sheikh Adel al-Mouwdah, a salafist member of the Bahraini parliament, also announced that Islamist organisations had set up a "committee for the defence of the Prophet Mohammed".

UPDATE: February2: A lesson in Courage from Copenhagan

European papers join Danish fray

COPENHAGEN In a remarkable escalation of a dispute over cartoons depicting the Prophet Muhammad, newspapers in several European countries reprinted the images on Wednesday, supporting a Danish newspaper that triggered a huge outcry in the Islamic world by publishing them initially.

The newspapers' action fed into a sharpening debate here over freedom of expression, human rights and what one Danish editor, Flemming Rose, called a "clash of civilizations" between secular Western democracies and Islamic societies.

Indeed, said Rose, culture editor of Jyllands-Posten - the newspaper which first published the cartoons last September - "this is a far bigger story than just the question of 12 cartoons in a small Danish newspaper."

"This is about the question of integration and how compatible is the religion of Islam with a modern secular society - how much does an immigrant have to give up and how much does the receiving culture have to compromise," he said in an interview.

In support of the Danish position, newspapers in France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Switzerland reprinted some of the cartoons on Wednesday. A small Norwegian evangelical magazine, Magazinet, also published the cartoons last month.

Robert Menard, secretary general of Reporters Sans Frontières, a Paris-based body that monitors media developments, said: "All countries in Europe should be behind the Danes and Danish authorities to defend the principle that a newspaper can write what it wishes to even if it offends people.".

On Wednesday, Syria became the latest Arab country after Saudi Arabia and Libya to withdraw its ambassador from Denmark, saying publication of the cartoons "constitutes a violation of the sacred principles of hundreds of millions of Arabs and Muslims," according to SANA, Syria's state press agency.

The decision by France Soir to publish the cartoons drew a sharp response from French Muslims. Dalil Boubakeur, head of the French Council for the Muslim Religion, called the publication of the cartoons a "provocation" and an abuse of press freedom, adding that it reflected "Islamophobia" and was disrespectful of the world's more than one billion Muslims. "The publication of the cartoons can only revive tensions in Europe and the world at a time when we are trying to unite people," he said.

In Germany, the conservative Die Welt daily printed one image on its front page and declared in an editorial: "The protests from Muslims would be taken more seriously if they were less hypocritical. When Syrian television showed drama documentaries in prime time depicting rabbis as cannibals, the imams were quiet."

And a lesson in dhimmitude in France

Fired: Editor of French publication that reprinted Muhammad cartoons February 01, 2006

Jihadwatch: After a heady day of freedom, European dhimmitude reasserts itself with a rush -- at least in France. Still, if the other editors don't get fired, we're still ahead of where we were 24 hours ago. "Muhammad cartoon row intensifies," from the BBC, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

France Soir originally said it had published the images in full to show "religious dogma" had no place in a secular society.

But late on Wednesday its owner, Raymond Lakah, said he had removed managing editor Jacques Lefranc "as a powerful sign of respect for the intimate beliefs and convictions of every individual".

Mr Lakah said: "We express our regrets to the Muslim community and all people who were shocked by the publication." The president of the French Council of the Muslim Faith (CFCM), Dalil Boubakeur, had described France Soir's publication as an act of "real provocation towards the millions of Muslims living in France".

Other papers stood by their publication. In Berlin, Die Welt argued there was a right to blaspheme in the West, and asked whether Islam was capable of coping with satire.

I am very sorry that Jacques Lefranc lost his job. I hope he gets a new one soon -- say, as President of the European Union.

The Danes Wont Deign, But Will the UN?

I wrote of this Eurabian moment here and here. Calling for death to America, death to Israel, that's ok. Incendiary antisemitic cartoons that run on a daily basis against the Jews in the Arab Islamic press? Accusations of blood libel against the Jews? Part of the school curriculum.

All of this began when Danish author Kåre Bluitgen had difficulties in getting artists to illustrate his book about Muhammad due to fear of reprisals from Islamic extremists. Jyllandsposten, Denmark's largest newspaper, responded by asking 40 illustrators to make drawings of Muhammad, and published twelve in this Saturday's edition. Not all of them were good, but here's the best one, made by Kurt Westergaard

Jihad Watch queried if the murderers of Theo van Gogh were seeking to deter other European artists from taking up Islam as a subject for artistic discussion, the Jamaat-e-Islami party in Pakistan is offering a reward to anyone who kills any of the artists.

And the Radical Islamists want the UN to sanction this?

Radical Islam's intimidation campaign in Europe comes from Denmark, thanks to Filtrat.

Muslims seek UN resolution over Danish prophet cartoons

CAIRO (AFP) - The Muslim world's two main political bodies have said they were seeking a UN resolution, backed by possible sanctions, to protect religions following the outcry caused by publication in Scandinavia of cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohammed.

Organisation of the Islamic Conference secretary general Ekmeleddin IhsanogluDanish_cartoon_muhammed_1 told reporters in Cairo Sunday that the international body would "ask the UN general assembly to pass a resolution banning attacks on religious beliefs."

Who needs defending? The victims of Radical Islam

"We demand an apology from the Danish government and from the newspaper that published the caricatures," he told AFP.

"We are going to launch a campaign for the boycott of Damish products in order to send a message to the Danes and to the Danish government,' he added.

"Regardless of all the acts of extremism and terrorism that are taking place, there are red lines," said the official, one of the main radical Muslim leaders in Bahrain.

There you go.

A poll published on Saturday showed that a majority of Danes felt their government should not apologise over the cartoons.

Thank Allah.

If the UN even touches this, it ought to be disbanded. They are still dying in dying by the tens of thousands at the hands of the Sudanese Radical Islamic government and the UN is going to feign outrage over utter nonsense?

Solomonia has an interesting post on the Danish cartoon scandal with some pertinent comments about the insecurity it reveals about “a shockingly weak and fragile religion of over a billion people.”

UPDATE: January 31

Norwegians Told to Leave Gaza
Norway's Foreign Ministry was heeding a warning Monday from Islamic groups that want all Scandinavians out of Gaza. The groups claim the Scandinavians have offended them by printing controversial caricatures of their prophet Mohammed. Armed members of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade handed out pamphlets in Gaza encouraging Danes and Swedes to leave, and burned a Danish flag. Norwegian Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store last week urged Norway's embassies to apologize for the caricatures, but that has spurred counter-criticism that Muslim countries should respect freedom of expression. (Aftenposten-Norway)

A majority of Danes feel their government and media should not apologize to Muslims for controversial cartoons published in the daily Jyllands-Posten last September and reprinted in a Norwegian magazine this month. In a poll for Danish Radio Saturday, 79% said Prime Minister Rasmussen should not apologize on Denmark's behalf. (AFP/Yahoo)

The New Nazis

The new Nazis by Klaus Rohrich

Yesterday I wrote about the impotence that the world is showing through the UN in the face of Iran developing an Islamic nuclear weapon. There is a powerful historical parallel between the 1930s and today.

Adolf Hitler’s ideology combined a mystical destiny, an overwhelming sense of superiority, religion and an interminable hatred of Jews to form the fundamental tenets of National Socialism.

Mahmud Ahmadinejad, the president of Iran, presents a similar mix of beliefs that positions him and his country as the savior of Islam and the destroyer of all things Western. Ahmadinejad, Like Hitler, holds the belief that Jews are inherently evil and need to be eradicated in order to purify the world. And like Hitler, Ahmadinejad is arming Iran in preparation for a momentous confrontation with the hated Jews and their American supporters.

As Nazism flourished in most of Europe during the 1930s, so Islamism is now flourishing throughout the Middle and Far East. The avowed goal of Islamists, like that of the Nazis, is world domination and the extermination of the Jewish people. As such, the bellicose statements emanating from the likes of Ahmadinejad, Osama Bin Laden, the Taliban and others are reminiscent of the bellicosity that Hitler and his minions displayed prior to WWII.

The West, with the exception of Israel and the U.S. are behaving in much the same manner that their grandparents displayed during the 1930s. That is to say they do not believe war will come if only the Islamists get what they want. Much effort has been made to offer Iran material wealth and favorable trading terms in an attempt to purchase their abandoning the attainment of nuclear weapons. Yet, like Hitler, who took everything that was offered to him and gave nothing in return, Ahmadinejad is bound and determined that Iran will have nuclear weapons, his assertion that the nuclear program is for peaceful purposes notwithstanding

France in Decay, Ask the "Filthy Jews"

"Filthy Jew!" schoolchildren howl at a classmate. "Jews only want money andFrance_kill_jews power," they tell their teachers. "Death to the Jews" graffiti appear on school walls outside Paris and other French cities.

[...] Their outspoken book "The Lost Territories of the Republic" opened France's eyes to classrooms where some Muslim pupils openly denounced Jews, praised Hitler and refused to listen to any non-Muslim teacher talking about the history of Islam. Read it all here  here and here

Really depressing and frightening. The French are trying to clean it up, but they may have waited too long as is their modus operandi - the riots here and here taught them that.

Throughout history the Jew has been the  bellweather of  freedom in any given society. Eurabia is looking uglier and uglier and Ahmadinejad knows it.

Sharon was right when he advised all French Jewry to get out of Dodge. Chirac's repulsive response of banning Sharon from France for such impudence (how dare he speak the truth), is how the French got to where they are right now, eh oui?

Iran's Nuclear Issue Cannot Be Solved Through Escalation: UN Nuclear Chief

Yeah, agreed, so who is doing the escalating genius? Give 'em another Nobel Peace prize!

LONDON [MENL] -- Iran has completed a huge military exercise that tested Teheran's ability to attack Western shipping and Arab oil facilities in the Gulf.

Western diplomatic sources said that in December 2005 Iran completed its largest military exercise in years. The sources said the military conducted an air and sea exercise designed to test capabilities to strike U.S. and Arab targets throughout the Persian Gulf.

"The exercise was meant to show the West that Iran could stop all oil shipments in the Gulf and destroy numerous oil facilities in Gulf Arab countries," a diplomatic source said. The exercise included a range of fighter-jets and helicopters from the Iranian Air Force. The navy contributed surface vessels and submarines.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards chief warned the United States and Britain that Iran would respond with its missiles if attacked, a clear threat to Israel which lies within easy range of such a launch. [CBS News]

Two important developments here:

US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice will meet in London on Monday with counterparts from Britain, China, France, Russia and Germany to discuss Iran.

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) is to hold a special meeting on Iran on Thursday and the United States is strongly pressing for the case to be referred to the UN Security Council.

Burns indicated that the administration believed it had enough votes to succeed.

SCHIEFFER:  Can the United States allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon?

PRESIDENT BUSH: The Free World cannot allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon, not just the United States, but those of us who value freedom, and that is why our strategy is to present and--and—and hold together a united front to say to the Iranians your designs to have a nuclear weapon or your desire to have the capability of making a nuclear weapon is unacceptable. It's very important that we speak to two groups: One is the government, and also the people. And in speaking to the people, my message is this: You know, we're not going to tell you how to live your life, but we would like you to be free. We would like you to be able to express yourselves in the--in the market--in the--in the open--in open, so without fear of reprisal. We want you to be able to vote and elect. And--but to the government, our message is, is that if you want to be a part of the family of nations, give up your nuclear weapons ambitions. Now, one of the things we have done is they have said they want to be able to have a civilian nuclear capacity, we want to be able to have our own nuclear power plant, and we've said we understand that. But because you're a nontransparent government, because you've openly stated your desire to destroy one of our allies, that you should be able to have a plant, but the--the--the uranium for running that plant will come from Russia, and Russia will provide the--provide the fuel, you will burn the fuel, and Russia will collect the fuel under IAEA safeguards.

Did Condi get to Bush?

I was surprised by Bush's response yesterday to the question of Iran's desire for nuclear weaponry.

I would never trust the Russians with Iran's nuclear enrichment and spent fuel. I mean really. The Russians are dying to get back into the superpower game and they discovered they don't have what it takes to do it on merit. They have to do it diabolically, so what else is new? Mind you, Russia plan 'not enough' for Iran.Russia's offer to enrich uranium for Iran behalf is "not sufficient" to end the nuclear stand-off, Iran says.

No, no, no, something else is at work here. Either it's lip service and we will be taking covertCondi military action or Condi got to Bush.

Condi, Condi, Condi................her capitulation, the single most depressing development on the world stage. Unlike Rummy and Cheney, Condi is not the warrior I had expected.

The State department has the notorious reputation of Arabists, antisemites, appeasers.....all the way back to Truman. I thought Condi would change the culture. Uh uh, just the opposite.

As Secretary of State,  she has become the leader of the appeasers. She opposes the most basic fundamental democratic ideals --- independence for the Kurds, stopping the Iranian WMD program, secure borders for Israel, and honest dialog (at the recent DOS Ramadan dinner with CAIR guests she lauded Islam as, not just a religion of "peace", but a religion of "peace and love" and the provider of "beneficence" to the United States here (hat tip MarcH)

I saw Bolton last night at AIPAC and while his remarks were off the record - there was nothing new here. Condi has shunted Bolton away form the real action (NSC, Near East Bureau, WMD Bureau) to the UN where he can only tilt at wind mills.

Click here: Coming Soon: Nuclear Theocrats?

This "realist," incentive-fond sentiment has been powerfully present in Foggy Bottom, which now dominates foreign policy--particularly Iran policy--in the Bush administration. Truth be told, the important voices at the State Department on Iran, which comprise now and then the Near East Bureau diplomats but especially the Europeanists riding high under Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, would have preferred to adopt a strategy geared more toward carrots than sticks. Engagement is a reflex at State: If diplomacy is seen essentially as a substitute for, not an intimately intertwined complement to, the threat and use of force, this disposition is unavoidable.

America is fully aware of the Iranian threat. A FOX News poll said Americans think Iran is the country that poses the greatest immediate danger to the United States. Americans Would Back Military Action in Iran Dispute, Poll Says (Bloomberg) -- A majority of Americans would support the U.S. taking military action against Iran if it continues to produce material that can be used to develop nuclear weapons.

Wouldn't cleaning out Iran make the mission in Iraq all that much easier?

CHENEY/GINGRICH '08 (if FDR could run the country from a wheelchair, Cheney can run the country with a pacemaker)

"If Iran goes nuclear, it will demonstrate conclusively that even the world's greatest superpower, unrivalled militarily, under a leadership of proven willingness to take bold military steps, could not stop a country as destabilizing as Iran from achieving its nuclear ambitions. No country in a region that is so riven by religious and ethnic hatreds will feel safe from the new regional superpower. No country in the region will be confident that the US and its allies will be able or willing to protect them from a nuclear strike by Iran. Nor will any regional power fear that the US and its allies will act to prevent them from emulating Iran. Say hello to a nuclear Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia" -- Times of London columnist Gerard Baker. Iran says Hamas 'earthquake' will shake US

UPDATE: January 28th

A day after  President George W. Bush gave public support to a Russian proposal to end the  Iran nuclear crisis, the US administration said it did not su[pport the plann 100% percent,  here

The United States has said that we find the Russian proposal to be interesting and it might be a good way to proceed with negotiations. We've never said that we accept every detail in that proposal," said Nicholas Burns, the assistant secretary of state for political affairs.

Pork Soup, oui?

It is hard to look at France and not look away. First you might giggle, shake your head and then grimace because this is for real. French culture teeters on extinction, it's population held hostage to a Muslim underclass that threatens the fabric of their society. Eurabia is fast approaching.  Not a joke.

Pork Soup Becomes Political in France

Frog_1 ..... ladling pork soup to France's homeless. Critics and some officials denounce the charity as discriminatory: because it contains pork, the soup is off-limits for Muslims.

Critics view the stew — dubbed "identity soup" by its cooks — as a cynical far-right ploy to penetrate the most vulnerable level of society while masking their intentions as humanitarian.

"It's not that we don't like Muslims. It's a problem of critical mass," Robert said in a telephone interview. "Just 1,000 Muslims in France poses no problem, but 6 million poses a big problem."

The country's Muslim population — the largest in western Europe — is estimated at 5 million, many of them French citizens.

The associations deny any ties to the far-right National Front party, which opposes Muslim immigration and built its reputation around the theme of "French first."

January 25th: Galloway UPDATE

Video footage has emerged showing George Galloway shaking hands with Saddam Hussein's sonGalloway_uday_1 Uday - an alleged rapist, torturer and convicted murderer.

The video, obtained by The Sun, shows the Respect MP having a 20-minute meeting with Saddam's eldest son in an Iraqi palace in 1999. In the video, Mr Galloway is seen to greet Uday, shaking his hand twice and calling him "Excellency".

He jokes about losing weight, going bald and failing to give up smoking cigars. Mr Galloway also orders watching journalists not to publish parts of their conversation. Finally, according to the paper, he taunts the United States and vows to stick with Uday "until the end".

The video was shot for an Iraqi TV station and was smuggled out of Iraq before the regime fell.

Switzerland turns other Cheek

Knowing what we know of the Swiss and their "neutrality", my only question is, did the Swiss make this decision after Iran decided to move its money out of Europe here . Just askin'

UBS Cancels All Banking Business With Iran
Swiss banking giant UBS AG said Sunday it has stopped doing business with Iran because of the company's economic and risk analysis of the situation in the country

This is almost unbelievable considering Switzerland's previous activity. Remember my post back in October?
"Neutral" Swiss Clean$ing Money for Terror States Iran, Iraq and Cuba here

The New York Sun: Congressional investigators probing weather the world's largest "wealth management" firm, [SWISS BANK]  UBS, may have laundered $5 billion in American currency for state sponsors of terrorism are pushing for the American government to block or seize any assets that may be held by the Castro regime at the Swiss bank's vault in Zurich.
Germany's Gold, repeat verse same as the first

Surprise, Surprise. The "neutral" Swiss are at it again. I can hear Stolen_art "Deutschland, Deutschland Uber Alles" [ MIDI-Melodie herunterladen ]echoing in the blood soaked air.

Washing the stolen money and art for the Germans during World War II, and now laundering the blood stained money of the largest state sponsors of terror, Iran, Iraq, and Cuba.

Some 75% of all gold transactions made by the Reichsbank during World War Two were made through Swiss banks. It has to make you question the sincerity of  their admission and apology back in 1997;

"We are ready to apologize for those who traded humanity for profits," said  Margrith Ledermann, the Swiss consul in San Francisco.

Ah yes I remember it well.

Hamza: Dogs of the West

BBC: Controversial cleric Abu Hamza al-Masri accused Western leaders of being sugar daddies to Israel because they were being blackmailed, his trial has heard.

Mr Abu Hamza claimed Israel had files on Western politicians. Jews know how to control people.Hamza_courtpabody This is how they know how to control our leaders," he said in a sermon, played on videotape to the Old Bailey jury.

He also criticised the "dogs of the West" for not condemning Israel.

The 47-year-old, from west London, denies 15 charges, including soliciting murder and inciting racial hatred.

'No peace treaty'
Jurors on the fourth day of Mr Abu Hamza's trial heard him tell a crowd: "Now all these dogs of the West they have to go now, none of them have condemned what Israel has done to the Muslims and the Palestinians.

"But as soon as three soldiers snatched from South Lebanon and some of them are being killed in Palestine they all go to their hands and knees - Robin Cook [the late former foreign secretary] to go there on his hands and knees, even Clinton [former US president]." More here

It's always about the Joooooooooos. And the left is kissing their ass, can't do enough for these barbarians. Hamza  was heard calling for the “blood and destruction” of non-believers  and describing Britain as a country “like the inside of a toilet. here

Iran: Cycle of Appeasement

Javier Solana said here: A military strike against Iran for its refusal to halt nuclear research is ruled out.

Remarks like these it show how tuned into the Eurabian psyche of appeasement (or as I like to call it the "cycle of appeasement") those Iranian mullahs are.

Ajmadinejad Iran calls for atomic talks
Reuters via Yahoo! News
Iran said on Sunday diplomacy was the only way to resolve the impasse over its nuclear program but that it would not reverse its widely criticized decision to resume atomic research after a break of more than two years.

Scandinavian update here. Let's hope Bush doesn't go "state dept." on this and circle jerk until Ahmadineajad Ahmadjihad accomplishes his not so secret goal of holding the world hostage to his nukes. The good news? We do control the airspace over Iraq and while we can't expect Israel to carry the burden of the world on their shoulders (Atlas indeed), the Israelis know they are just as vested in a nuclear free solution as the West is. Israel wants the west to deal more urgently with Iran.

WHY G-d chose the Jews

Interesting piece; The Origins of the Great War of 2007 and how it could have been prevented

The devastating nuclear exchange of August 2007 represented not only the failure of diplomacy, it marked the end of the oil age. Some even said it marked the twilight of the West. Certainly, that was one way of interpreting the subsequent spread of the conflict as Iraq's Shi'ite population overran the remaining American bases in their country and the Chinese threatened to intervene on the side of Teheran.

Yet the historian is bound to ask whether or not the true significance of the 2007-2011 war was to vindicate the Bush administration's original principle of pre-emption. For, if that principle had been adhered to in 2006, Iran's nuclear bid might have been thwarted at minimal cost. And the Great Gulf War might never have happened. Hat tip Atlas readers

Why "Diplomacy" with Iran Had to Fail

European "diplomacy" with Iran--supported by Washington--necessarily strengthened Iran. Elan Journo

European diplomats, who courted Iran in an attempt to halt its suspected nuclear weapons program, regret that "diplomacy" did not dissuade Iran from its plans. But this failure was foreseeable.

Europe's diplomatic effort was touted as a reasonable way to settle the dispute over Iran'sIran_death_5_3 suspected nuclear weapons program without any losers. By enticing Iran to the negotiating table, we were told, the West can avoid a military confrontation, while Iran gains "economic incentives" that can help build its economy. But the negotiations, backed also by the Bush administration, only strengthened Iran and turned it into a greater menace.

The proposed deal--which was said to include the sale of civilian aircraft and membership for Iran in the World Trade Organization--rested on the notion that no one would put abstract goals or principles ahead of gaining a steady flow of economic loot. And so, if only we could have negotiated a deal that gave Iran a sufficiently juicy carrot, it would forgo its ambitions.

But to believe that Iran really hungers for nuclear energy (as it claims) is sheer fantasy. Possessing abundant oil and gas reserves, Iran is the second-largest oil producer in OPEC. To believe that it values prosperity at all is equally fantastic; Iran is a theocracy that systematically violates its citizens' right to political and economic liberty.

What Iran desires is a nuclear weapon--the better to threaten and annihilate the impious in the West and in Iran's neighborhood. Iran declares its anti-Western ambitions stridently. At an official parade in 2004, Iran flaunted a missile draped with a banner declaring that: "We will crush America under our feet." (Its leaders, moreover, have for years repeated the demand that "Israel must be wiped off the map.")

A committed enemy of the West, Iran is the ideological wellspring of Islamic terrorism, and the "world's most active sponsor of terrorism" (according to the U.S. government). A totalitarian regime that viciously punishes "un-Islamic" behavior among its own citizens, Iran actively exports its contempt for freedom and human life throughout the infidel world. For years it has been fomenting and underwriting savage attacks on Western and American interests, using such proxies as Hezbollah. Like several of the 9/11 hijackers before them, many senior al-Qaida leaders, fugitives of the Afghanistan war, have found refuge in Iran. And lately Iran has funneled millions of dollars, arms and ammunition to insurgents in Iraq.

It's absurd to think that by offering Iran rewards to halt its aggression, we will deflect it from its goal.

The only consequence of engaging such a vociferously hostile regime in negotiations is the whitewashing of its crimes and the granting of undeserved legitimacy.

To protect American (and European) lives, we must learn the life-or-death importance of passing objective moral judgment. By any rational standard, Iran should be condemned and its nuclear ambition thwarted, now. The brazenly amoral European gambit has only aided its quest--and will entail a future confrontation with a bolder, stronger Iran.

Iran is trying to assemble a nuclear missile

This from the left leaning, America hating, Guardian, yup the Guardian

Secret services say Iran is trying to assemble a nuclear missile

Document seen by Guardian details web of front companies and middlemenThe Guardian

The Iranian government has been successfully scouring Europe for the sophisticated equipment needed to develop a nuclear bomb, according to the latest western intelligence assessment of the country's weapons programmes.

Scientists in Tehran are also shopping for parts for a ballistic missile capable of reaching Europe, with "import requests and acquisitions ... registered almost daily", the report seen by the Guardian concludes.

This the is the most significant issue of the day. We have got to get a grip on or priorities and stopNuclear wringing our hands over the New York Times shriek fest over "domestic spying" on intercontinental calls between Al qaida and Osama. Think about it. I think we really ought to send these leftards over to shari'a land (especially Dowd) and let them live in Dar al-Islam and see how really bad they have it here.

Understand your enemy. Jihad is central to Islamic history and civilization. This jihad focuses deceptively on Israel to conceal its true global ambition of world domination.

From Bat Yeor: Obviously the new European civilization is subservient to the ideology of jihad and the Islamic powers that propagate it .

The jihad conception classifies infidels under three categories: 1) those who oppose the Islamic call with arms; 2) those who belong to the countries of truce; 3) those who have surrendered to Islamic domination, exchanging their land for peace; they become "dhimmis," "protected" from the ongoing jihad war against non-Muslims by a treaty of subjection and protection (dhimma).

Clearly, I (and my readers) are category one................the leftards are category three. So I think they need to move to where they belong and let us get to the business of saving this great country. Europe is category two, they are sooooooo finished.

UPDATE: Iran President Says Anti-Israel Comments "Awakened" Muslims

Iran's hard-line President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad told a parliamentary committee that his remarks calling for Israel to be "wiped off the map" and describing the Holocaust as a "myth" had a profound impact on Muslims around the world, providing a "shock" that was needed "to awaken the Muslims who are in a state of lethargy." "Some in Iran and abroad thought that we were making these speeches without a specific plan and policy, but we have been pursuing a specific strategy in this regard," he told Islamist student activists last week.

Is there a way to awaken the Muslims to contribute to civilization in a positive way? Awaken the muslims to hate Jews and the West? Why? How about we awaken the Muslims to the sciences, mathematics, medicine, poetry, otherwise maybe lethargy is preferable.

Germany Won't Ban Iran from World Cup

Iran develops uranium separation technology -Iran has developed technology to separate uranium from its ore, reinforcing the Islamic republic's self-sufficiency in the nuclear fuel cycle.

German chancellor Angel Merkel rejects Iran ban from the World Cup
despite the controversial remarks by the country's president to wipe Israel off the map and develop nuclear weapons.

These are our partners in disarming Nuclear Iran? Can you se the mullahs laughing out of their asses?

They won't ban Iran from playing ball? This is too severe a punishment? These are the simpletons we have to work with to solve the impending nuclear holocaust?

This is no longer funny, we must hold the American left's feet to the fire.  America has been offered a choice between war and shame. I'll be damned if she chooses shame as it will only get us war - and the worst kind.

This should be the national dialog, not whether or not we should have listened to al quaida's intercontinental phone conversations. *SPIT*

France they name is Denial, Nothing to See here

In France, the unrest that triggered the riots two months ago is not over but only waiting to break out again.

In one of the suburbs of Paris, a group of young men were seen recently singing about the riots, about being Muslim and about not feeling French in France, reports the International Herald Tribune.(UPI)

Meanwhile, just another "normal weekend" in Paris.Frog_french_3

100 vehicles are burned; "nothing out of ordinary", Police said Sunday that about 100 vehicles were burned overnight, which marked an average weekend tally for urban violence and did not signify a flare-up of violence after riots last month.

Some French regions have banned retail sales of gasoline during the holidays to prevent a recurrence of violence after three weeks of riots in which youths used homemade gasoline bombs and set fire to cars and buildings.

National Police spokeswoman Catherine Casteran said Sunday that about 100 cars were reported burned overnight on Christmas Eve, which was equivalent to ''an ordinary weekend'' and the number of vehicles burned last Christmas.

France thy name is denial.

UPDATE: Mind you, Expat Swede who has seen it all up close and first hand. He  sent me this article at frontpagemag;

Western Muslims' Racist Rape Spree

In Australia, Norway, Sweden and other Western nations, there is a distinct race-based crime in motion being ignored by the diversity police: Islamic men are raping Western women for ethnic reasons. We know this because the rapists have openly declared their sectarian motivations.

When a number of teenage Australian girls were subjected to hours of sexual degradation during a spate of gang rapes in Sydney that occurred between 1998 and 2002, the perpetrators of these assaults framed their rationale in ethnic terms. The young victims were informed that they were “sluts” and “Aussie pigs” while they were being hunted down and abused.

This all points to a much larger picture. A sweeping violent tide of radical islamofascism tearing at the fabric of Western Civilization. Eurabia may take it lying down, but America is going to fight back tooth and nail, leftards beware.

Radical Islamofascist Violence Infects, SPREADS ACROSS CONTINENTS

As muslim rioting tears at the social fabric of Australia, the trademark barbarism of Radical Islamofascism is sweeping apace through Western societies, gaining momentum. LGF cites The Australian report that four  churches have been attacked in Sydney by gangs of Lebanese Muslim youths. More here on Muslim gang rapes and Aussie riots.

It is pretty obvious to all those that insisted that the riots in France had nothing to do withIslam but a result of the alienation felt by second generation immigrant youth failing to be integrated into French society, that they were wrong wrong wrong. The deniers blamed the welfare state, the French people, logistics, etc. but emphatically denied Radical Islam had anything to  to do with it.

Australia is not France. Australia does not have 'Muslim ghettos", separate living areas FMO (for Muslims Only). The dynamics of French society and Australian society are completely different but the animus and violence on behalf of the Muslim youth was/is very much the same in both countries.
All of these events are connected and part of a much larger movement. The girls raped on Australian beaches? Check out Sweden, and of course "the girls were asking for it", they weren't wearing burkas.
Immigrant Rape Wave in Sweden
Sweden Swedish girls Malin and Amanda were on their way to a party on New Year's Eve when they were assaulted, raped and beaten half to death by four Somali immigrants. Sweden's largest newspaper has presented the perpetrators as "two men from Sweden, one from Finland and one from Somalia", a testimony as to how bad the informal censorship is in stories related to immigration in Sweden. Similar incidents are reported with shocking frequency, to the point where some observers fear that law and order is completely breaking down in the country. The number of rape charges in Sweden has tripled in just above twenty years. Rape cases involving children under the age of 15 are six - 6 - times as common today as they were a generation ago. Most other kinds of violent crime have rapidly increased, too. Instability is spreading to most urban and suburban areas.

According to a new study from the Crime Prevention Council, Brå, it is four times more likely that a known rapist is born abroad, compared to persons born in Sweden. Resident aliens from Algeria, Libya, Morocco and Tunisia dominate the group of rape suspects. According to these statistics, almost half of all perpetrators are immigrants. In Norway and Denmark, we know that non-Western immigrants, which frequently means Muslims, are grossly overrepresented on rape statistics. In Oslo, Norway, immigrants were involved in two out of three rape charges in 2001. The numbers in Denmark were the same, and even higher in the city of Copenhagen with three out of four rape charges. Sweden has a larger immigrant, including Muslim, population than any other country in northern Europe. The numbers there are likely to be at least as bad as with its Scandinavian neighbors. The actual number is thus probably even higher than what the authorities are reporting now, as it doesn't include second generation immigrants. Lawyer Ann Christine Hjelm, who has investigated violent crimes in Svea high court, found that 85 per cent of the convicted rapists were born on foreign soil or by foreign parents.hat tip Tom p, fjordman.blogspot

Europe – Thy Name is Cowardice

A few days ago Henryk M. Broder wrote in Welt am Sonntag, "Europe – your family name is appeasement." It’s a phrase you can’t get out of your head because it’s so terribly true.

Appeasement cost millions of Jews and non-Jews their lives as England and France, allies at the time, negotiated and hesitated too long before they noticed that Hitler had to be fought, not bound to agreements. Appeasement stabilized communism in the Soviet Union and East Germany in that part of Europe where inhuman, suppressive governments were glorified as the ideologically correct alternative to all other possibilities. Appeasement crippled Europe when genocide ran rampant in Kosovo and we Europeans debated and debated until the Americans came in and did our work for us. Rather than protecting democracy in the Middle East, European appeasement, camouflaged behind the fuzzy word "equidistance," now countenances suicide bombings in Israel by fundamentalist Palestinians. Appeasement generates a mentality that allows Europe to ignore 300,000 victims of Saddam’s torture and murder machinery and, motivated by the self-righteousness of the peace-movement, to issue bad grades to George Bush. A particularly grotesque form of appeasement is reacting to the escalating violence by Islamic fundamentalists in Holland and elsewhere by suggesting that we should really have a Muslim holiday in Germany.

What else has to happen before the European public and its political leadership get it? There is a sort of crusade underway, an especially perfidious crusade consisting of systematic attacks by fanatic Muslims, focused on civilians and directed against our free, open Western societies. It is a conflict that will most likely last longer than the great military conflicts of the last century—a conflict conducted by an enemy that cannot be tamed by tolerance and accommodation but only spurred on by such gestures, which will be mistaken for signs of weakness.

Two recent American presidents had the courage needed for anti-appeasement: Reagan and Bush. Reagan ended the Cold War and Bush, supported only by the social democrat Blair acting on moral conviction, recognized the danger in the Islamic fight against democracy. His place in history will have to be evaluated after a number of years have passed.

In the meantime, Europe sits back with charismatic self-confidence in the multicultural corner instead of defending liberal society’s values and being an attractive center of power on the same playing field as the true great powers, America and China. On the contrary—we Europeans present ourselves, in contrast to the intolerant, as world champions in tolerance, which even (Germany's Interior Minister) Otto Schily justifiably criticizes. Why?  Because we’re so moral? I fear it’s more because we’re so materialistic.

Read it all and then some at Strong as an ox an nearly as smart

That info you find here
French authorities have uncovered a large arsenal of guns and explosives in the Clichy-sous-Bois suburb near Paris.

PARIS (Reuters) - French police have seized large quantities of military weapons and explosives as part of a probe into an Islamic militant group said to have indirect links to al Qaeda’s leader in Iraq, officials said on Thursday.

Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy told reporters the arsenal was discovered on Wednesday in a lock-up attached to a block of flats in the Clichy-sous-Bois suburb north of Paris.

Judicial sources said the haul included assault rifles, dynamite and TNT.

Police also arrested on Wednesday two new suspects in addition to the 25 rounded up in a string of dawn raids in the Paris area on Monday.

Arafat? Check! ElBaradei? Check! Israeli Prof? *SPIT*

I don't know why I am surprised but I am surprised. And I continue to be surprised. Stupidly.

Almost 1,000 intellectuals and academics submitted to the Royal Swedish Academy of Science a petition to protest the "monstrous" act of awarding the prize to Prof. Israel Aumann. They charged that he is using gameAnti_semitism4 theory to "justify the Israeli occupation and the oppression of the Palestinians." They also protest the award to Prof. Schelling, whom they blamed for inspiring American military strategy that includes bombing civilians.
Prof. Aumann, of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, received the honor shortly after the end of the Sabbath, together with American Prof. Thomas Schelling, for their work on understanding conflict through game theory. Aumann brought his entire extended family to the ceremony, where Sweden's King Carl XVI Gustaf presented the prize.

The Israeli scholar, the eighth Israeli to win a Nobel prize, moved to Israel in 1956 and is chairman of Hebrew University's Center for Rationality. [Rationality? Ah, I love the smaell of irony on a Sunday morning- Atlas]

These people are begging for the caliphate. So Yasser, the most successful murderer, terrorist barbarian if good but this fella is evil. Who is the evil one? Read through he comments on  the bitchslap thread and tell me who is evil. I grieve everyday for the 2,000 men and women lost in our  war on radical Islam and thank G-d men like that exist when I tuck my children into bed at night, but what is the alternative?
What is the alternative? Sit and weight for the next 3,000 plus innocent civilians to die on their way to work? We tried sitting by, doing nothing - after WTC 91, the Cole, Khobar all of those terror attacks against America and freedom too long to list here. Sitting it out is an action. It is a sign of capitulation. It is an invitation to be attacked. And attacked we were. Tough calls had to made, tough decisions had to made and carried out, and followed through, the course stayed A courage of conviction. It is the left that is PRO-WAR. I am against war which is why we have to go into the Middle East and destroy the enemy. Destroy the destroyers.
Mine is the Peace movement.
Mine is the Peace through Strength movement.

The Left, the Democrats, theirs is the war movement, the dhimmitude movement. Theirs is the sit-in-your-protected-abode, knees knocking waiting for the next attack, waiting for the caliphate movement.

The thinking is so lopsided it would be comical  if it weren't fatal.
Why is it the left  thinks nothing of thousands dying daily at the hands of Radical Islam. Never gets a mention. Why is it they dont' concern themselves in the least with the murdered and enslaved at the hands of Arab Muslims in Sudan and Darfur? What is wrong with these people? Why aren't the feminists decrying the terrible acts against women and children in the name of Islam?
They get their bowels all in uproar over the Dean Hitler pic. The fact is Dean is a manic and that was the point of that photo. Nothing more .......... look at his face, need I say more.

I look over their argument time and again and think of Jesus when he said

"By their acts [fruits] ye shall know them". And so we know them eh?

New Nuremberg Rally in London 2005: Stop Looking Away

Frightening ascension of Hades in Carol Gould's article that Cuana's entitled New Nuremberg Rally in London, read it now.  Also sent to me by x_dhimmi, "It's sick (the event) and sounds ominous -- makes me shudder."
What is more terrifying is the lack of interest/media/citizen uprising/attention to the gloulish events unfolding around us. Cuanas is looking for answers. There is no answer for Europe, you cannot resurrect the dead. How could they turn things around when they are in the death throes of dhimmitude?
America is our only hope. And it's a problem..........all one has to do is scroll down to the Howard Dean thread on this blog to get but a glimpse. Stop looking away.

Even if we were to consider the most extreme measures of mass deportation, it won't work.
We must change the C-U-L-T-U-R-E.
As Pipes pointed out "Islamist terror organizations particularly prize converts. They know the local culture and blend in. They cannot be deported. They can hide their religious affiliation by avoiding mosques, lying low, even drinking alcohol and taking drugs to maintain their cover. One guide counsels would-be suicide bombers going to Iraq to 'wear jeans, eat doughnuts and always carry your Walkman'." The homegrown terrorist. You can't deport a convert.

The problem is the culture
We must change the culture if we are to have any shot, any shot at all
The culture has glorified this sickness, hence the conversions ..................

n the UK I attended the ‘Global Peace and Unity’ Conference at London’s Excel Centre presented by the new Islam Channel and sponsored by Emirates Airlines, Western Union (hmm??) and the Metropolitan Police.

It was advertised as a diverse event to which non-Muslims were invited and the impression one got from the website was of a celebration of Middle Eastern culture, food, music and children’s activities in a London milieu. To my utter horror -- and I should have written this report two days ago but my physical and emotional shock have rendered me nearly inert -- it was a seven-hour call to Jihad by a succession of ranting and shouting rabble-rousers.

The eminent barrister Michael Mansfield QC, wearing black and white keffiyah scarf, shouted into the mike about the heinous crimes of the Western coalition countries. The crowd chanted and thundered its appreciation. The terrifying demagogue George Galloway ascended the podium and exhorted the crowd to stand up for the redemption of the oppressed Muslim world or else the nation had better get ready for ‘rioting in every street in Britain.’

ElBaradei Gets Tough: Play Nice in the Nuclear Sandbox

Isn't this the same nobel peace prize winning shmuck that just said Iran is only months away from having nuclear bombs.

Independent Online: The head of the UN nuclear watchdog, MohamedIran_nukes_1 ElBaradei, has appealed to both Iran and the West to refrain from escalating their dangerous game of brinkmanship, [he is treating both as they they have the same world status and power? Since when does Iran get the same cred as the USA? Since ElBaradei let them get thisclose to nuclear capability?- Atlas] which has entered an unpredictable [gotta love that word "unpredictable", yeah unpredictable] phase after the election of a hardline Iranian president.

Talks between Iran and the European Union, which has been leading negotiations [translation: masturbation aka dancing with myself] aimed at preventing the Iranians from building a nuclear bomb, broke down in August, when the Iranians resumed nuclear-related activities at their Isfahan plant. ["preventing the Iranians from building a nuclear bomb, broke down"when the Iranians resumed building a nuclear bomb - hellllllllllooooooooooooooooooo..Good job Baradei!]

overlooking the Danube in Vienna, Mr ElBaradei noted that Iran has not rejected the Russian proposal outright, and he said he expected "talks about talks" [they said that not me, go to the link, I swear - "talks about talks"] to be held before next month.[Which Russia is El B referring to? The  Russia that just signed a $1 billion defense deal-1 billion dollars worth of tactical surface-to-air missiles and other defense hardware to Iran? .......oy]

hat tipon the Independent article: Hugh, The Sulla Institute

Am I crazy or do these people actually want Iran to go nuclear? What other explanation could there be?

Iran_female_militia_5 Despite the developments in Iran and North Korea, Mr ElBaradei said the most worrying nuclear threat came from the prospect of nuclear terrorism. "The deterrence concept does not apply in the case of terrorists. That is the most critical danger we are facing now because there is a lot of nuclear material and nuclear facilities that need to be adequately protected."

Mr ElBaradei, an Egyptian lawyer, has not always got on with the Bush administration which tried to block him from serving a second term as IAEA chief. [Shocka! Hmm, I wonder why?]

Get it together and give Israel the ok, now. They are the only ones with the balls. America is still debating Iraq for Gd's sake! That war is all but over (and won) but the left won't let go. [shakes head in disgust].

UPDATE: December 6th [head shaking violently now]
Russia plan could end Iran talks impasse: ElBaradei Finally, I agree with El B on this. I just don't agree wthat it would end the same way. This is the height of irrationality.
Sounds to me that  a "Russia plan" ,complete with sale of missiles, would end with nuclear war.

Haine de Juif: The Frogs' Spots Never Change,

I knew it ................ it was only a matter of time before that haine de juif, Judenrein FrenchFrognazi sickness would come out. This time the target is against the brilliant French Jewish Philosopher, Alain Finkielkraut, whose work I have posted and admired;

Fwance French-Jewish philosopher Alain Finkielkraut, 56, has come a long way from the events of May 1968 to the riots of October 2005.

French Claim Paris Riots Now at "Normal" Levels According to the French-Jewish philosopher Alain Finkielkraut, "In France, they would like very much to reduce these riots to their social dimension, ...

Atlas Shrugs: Jews Barricaded in Paris, fleeFrench-Jewish philosopher Alain Finkielkraut, "When an Arab torches a school, it's rebellion. When a white guy does it, it's fascism. I'm 'color blind'.

Reader MarcH writes me the following;

On November 17, 2006 you posted a Haaretz interview with French-Jewish Philosopher Alain Finkielkraut on the riots in France. Finkielkraut’s analysis was keen and honest. Therefore it could not be tolerated in France and French intellectuals have begun the lynching.

The money quote is from a French "sociologist" who branded Finkielkraut as one who "... acts like a Frenchman on French radio and then talks like a Jew in Haaretz and on Jewish radio".

Photo toon the wildly talented ihillary.

TCS has this editorial: "Add one more casualty to the victims of the November incidents in France: Alain Finkielkraut, 56-year-old professor, philosopher, author, and subtle commentator on current events.France This humanintellectual has been dragged into something like a cross between a medieval disputation, the Moscow Trials, and an al QaedaEurabia_7 beheading scene, simply because he deviated from the accepted interpretation of the violence then raging in…and said it in an Israeli newspaper".

Read it all and puke. And Bracadabrah has more syrup of Ipecac

UPDATE: Bat Yeor author of Eurabia interview on Paris Riots here , read it now

UPDATE: Go over to Peaktalk,we need more of Pieter's perspective;

The storm aroused by French-Jewish philosopher Alain Finkielkraut refuses to subside. On Sunday, French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy threw his full weight behind the beleaguered philosopher, who has been forced to remain cloistered at home following the sharp reactions to an interview he gave to Haaretz.

Speaking to reporters on Sunday, Sarkozy said: "Monsieur Finkielkraut is an intellectual who brings honor and pride to French wisdom ... If there is so much criticism of him, it might be because he says things that are correct."

Read the whole article and you will note that Sarkozy’s comments are seen as a full frontal assault on France’s left-wing elites. This certainly helps to set the stage for a very interesting battle over Chirac’s legacy in 2007, where De Villepin for now appears to be the frontrunner. But Sarkozy has seized upon the discontent in France and has it seems already launched his campaign on a platform of common sense, abandoning the outdated concepts of politically correct thinking. As we've seen elsewhere in Europe - Blair, Fortuyn - that requires a certain amount of political guts and Sarkozy has it in spades.

So, the struggle for the heart of France is not dissimilar to what is playing out in other European nations. An unprecendented and deep rift is opening up between the traditional political elites and a new daring train of thought found on the right and in a very few remote spots on the left. And as Finkielkraut is finding out, the vested interests are not going to give up their ownership of what they consider their truth very quickly, they will hang on to it at any cost.

Cartoons of Mohammed cause death threat

Update to this Eurabian moment originally posted at the best blog in Eurabia,  the Norwegian Fjordman

The events surrounding the publication of drawings of the prophet Mohammed in the Danish daily newspaper Jyllands-Posten a couple of months ago has taken an even more dramatic turn for the worse.

A large Islamic extremist party in Pakistan has offered a reward of 50,000 kroner to anyone who kills any of the artists.

The Danish ambassador in Islamabad, Bent Wigotski, reports that it is the extremist Jamaaat-e-Islami party and it youth organisation who have offered the bounty money. They have also demanded the ambassador leave Pakistan.

DeVillepin on Paris Riots: "I am not Sure we can Call them Riots"

France_make_you_crazy France_kill_frog

French PM: No riots, just 'social unrest' |

CNN and Amanpour speaks to DeVillepin (perfect couple eh?) 10,000 cars burned, 150 cops hurt, 100 public buildings damaged

"I am not sure we can call them riots" DeVillepin "Nobody died" "You can not compare this kind of social unrest with riots. There were no guns in the streets. This was a very special movement"  "There is no ethinic and no religious basis of this movement". "These people want to be 100% French"

I swear I am not making this up....................quoting verbatim. Watch the video. I want his drugs ! - Atlas

Keith B in Irvine writes me;

I am wondering if DeV recalls the restless French youths who doused the crippled women in flammable liquid before torching the bus she was on?  Surely they are just looking for more social acceptance and better job opportunities - that's the first thing that crosses my mind when I want a better job - let me go burn a crippled person.

We should open immigration to all French Jews - as they are clearly in danger in France.  Europe will not survive - they will be blamed.  We need them here.

In the end America will live up to Churchill's prescription - after exhausting every alternative...

Good man Keith

Those riots in France are a result of that very thing". The Chinese, Vietnamese etc immigrants are not rioting and tearing down the very fabric of society.

hat tip

The Courrier International is a weekly compilation of articles from the international pressBush_french brought into French and published by the Groupe Le Monde, best known for its flagship daily. Here is the charming depiction of George W. Bush that graces the cover of the current edition of the Courrier.

Apart from the conspicuous fact that Bush's body is half eaten away, note especially the simian posture with the knuckles dragging on the ground. Among the Parisian intellectuals who constitute the principal market for the Courrier, as they do for Le Monde, such a representation of the American President is apparently supposed to be a mark of sophistication. The title to the left of the image reads "Bush laid bare" - a pronouncement that the cartoonist delicately interprets as having his flesh eaten away to the bone - and the subtitle reads: "Why Americans No Longer Have Confidence in Him". On the inside [link in French], this becomes "Why the Americans reject their President" and under the heading "The End of a Deception", the editors explain further: "numerous lies, political setbacks: the failings of the government is finally becoming apparent to the majority of Americans".

Have you seen Chesler's piece on FrontPagemag? France’s Intifada By Phyllis Chesler

In 1973, the French novelist Jean Raspail artfully predicted in the form of fiction the very real Palestinian-style intifada that now rages on the west bank of Europe: France. Ten years after the book's publication, Raspail described the "vision" he had, portrayed in the book, which lasted for ten feverish months:

They were there! A million poor wretches, armed only with their weakness and their numbers, overwhelmed by misery, encumbered with starving brown and black children, ready to disembark on our soil, the vanguard of the multititudes pressing hard against every part of the tired and overfed West. I literally saw them, saw the major problem they presented, a problem absolutely insoluble by our present moral standards. To let them in would destroy us. To reject them would destroy them.

Consider the plot. An all-powerful, multi-culturalist intelligentsia, having taught France that it must atone for its racist crimes, swiftly joins compassionate French Christians in ecstatically welcoming the mass invasion that brutally destroys France. The solicitude of white Frenchmen—the priests, intellectuals, student activists, and prostitutes who wish to embrace and assist the implacably angry new arrivals—is repaid by death. And terror: The immigrants loot everything in sight. They murder for new apartments. France is run into the ground. Raw and relentless, the novel is as brilliant as Orwell’s 1984.

Raspail dares to ask the hard questions: Are we our brothers' keepers? Must the West share all its resources with a barbarous East—even if it means our own demise?

“I leave shreds of my soul on every experience.” - Oriana Fallaci

I went to see Oriana Fallaci this evening in what will most likely be her last speech. She is dying from cancer. No photos allowed. And while she could not have been more then 85 lbs, she railed away at Radical Islamofascim, the treasonous left and the impotent right as if she was taking on Goliath.

Oriana Fallaci - author of the powerful  Man and Letter to a Child Never Born has a fatwa calling for her death and  is being sued by the Muslim Union of Italy for her book The Force of Reason.  Consequently an Italian judge ordered her to stand trial in Bergamo on charges of "defaming Islam." From Prophet of Decline, WSJ hat tip: Susan D esq.

Oriana Fallaci faces jail. In her mid-70s, stricken with a cancer that, for the moment, permits only the consumption of liquids -one of the most renowned journalists of the modern era has been indicted by a judge in her native Italy under provisions of the Italian Penal Code which proscribe the "vilipendio," or "vilification," of "any religion admitted by the state."

In her case, the religion deemed vilified is Islam, and the vilification was perpetrated, apparently, in a book she wrote last year -- and which has sold many more than a million copies all over Europe -- called "The Force of Reason." Its astringent thesis is that the Old Continent is on the verge of becoming a dominion of Islam, and that the people of the West have surrendered themselves fecklessly to the "sons of Allah." So, in a nutshell, Oriana Fallaci faces up to two years' imprisonment for her beliefs -- which is one reason why she has chosen to stay put in New York. Let us give thanks for the First Amendment.

Ms. Fallaci speaks in a passionate growl: "Europe is no longer Europe, it is 'Eurabia,' a colony of Islam, where the Islamic invasion does not proceed only in a physical sense, but also in a mental and cultural sense. Servility to the invaders has poisoned democracy, with obvious consequences for the freedom of thought, and for the concept itself of liberty."

A Sermon for the West  Published: Friday, January 10, 2003

I Stand with Israel: I Stand with the JewsPublished: Monday, December 02, 2002

From the book, Immortality, author, Milan Kundera writes,

"...who is the pioneer of modern journalism? Not Hemingway who wrote of his experiences in the trenches, not Orwell who spent a year of his life with the Parisian poor, not Egon Erwin Kisch the expert on Prague prostitutes, but Oriana Fallaci who in the years 1969 to 1972 published a series of interviews with the most famous politicians of the time. Those interviews were more than mere conversations; they were duels. Before the powerful politicians realized that they were fighting under unequal conditions--for she was allowed to ask questions but they were not--they were already on the floor of the ring, KO'ed."

This evening David Horowitz [his introductory speech here] of the Center for the Study of Popular Culture and Editor in Chief ofOriana_fallaci FrontPageMag  presented Fallaci with the Anne Taylor award (Anne Taylor was the first woman to go over Niagara Falls in a barrel - no joke). The speech will not be made public or published as Fallaci wants it for her last book she is currently writing. She said she "hopes her book helps her die a little less when I do die". And although she was supposed to receive this award at the Biltmore in February there was serious doubt she would make it..........The following remarks are from my fierce scribbling. In a word, Fallaci was wild. Smart determined, and intent on getting the message out there that we are underestimating the enemy. Playing nice guy, playing PC, killing all signs of religion (ie Christmas) will be the end of us.

"I do not believe the West will win."  Her fatalism is pure and unashamed.

The crowd to my surprise, was small. A peculiar mix of concerned,  scholarly,  erudite and  moneyed. Not what I would call a "sexy" crowd (as in passionate), but Fallaci had more sex appeal and passion than the whole of the city.
I was fortunate enough to sit with Richard Poe of FrontPageMag and his lovely wife, and to my left Susan, a quick witted down-to-earth lawyer (!) who writes sporadically for the NRO who was joined by her equally involved hub. Susan just sent me this excellent NRO piece on Fallaci, read it before continuing on.

And to add to my delight I had  the great fortune to spent some precious, delicious time with Phylis Chesler. I shall  interview her later this week on her new book, The Death of Feminism

Oriana Fallaci -  frail, tiny hit that podium running. She looked up at us and said "you are my comrade in arms. Our opponents are leftists. Conservative are too genteel. You are warriors and warriors can not get tired."

"The secret of happiness is freedom, the secret of freedom is courage". In describing despotism, Fallaci said the despot ignores the body and attacks the soul. Because it is the soul the despot wants to put in chains. The despot wants to put the soul in shackles. "You are free not to think. Think as I do".

The Truth Inspires Fear".

"Europe overflows with the witch hunts.... hits any one going against Islam. It overflows the with  New Inquisition. Trying to muzzle. Oh yes, like your Ward Churchills, your Noam Chomskys, your Louis Farrakhans and your Michael Moore's etc. TRAITORS! against which all antidotes seem to fail. Combined Neo nazi islamo fascism" [Atlas note: Fallaci spit these names out with such repulsion and utter contempt........riveting]

The Deaf remain the deaf, the blind remain the blind and both of them end up with ............brand of shame.

Islam has no sense of justice. The crime? The crime of opinion. A crime now disguised as re-education of Islam. Religious racism xenophobia.

Like love, hate belongs to  human nature. Should there be a penal code for the persecution for "hate"? Can we judge? Yes! It can be judged but only on a moral basis. For instance the moral basis of religion, the Christian religion, is based on love, not on a political basis or a criminal basis..........."It grants me the right to love who I want but also the right to hate who I want."

"It is my sacrosanct right! Those that hate me try to silence me with penal codes."

"And the West directs a hate towards itself. The West has lost its spirituality. It stands silent in the slander of Islam. "The censure of Europe".
"Civilizations die from suicide, not by murder," the historian Arnold Toynbee wrote.

On August 27, 2005, Fallaci had a private audience with Pope Benedict XVI at Castel Gandolfo with whom she found a kindred spirit and whom she believes understands the mortal threat faced by Christianity by the evil of Islamofascism. The Pope loves her work. "I feel less alone when I read the books of Ratzinger." I had asked Ms. Fallaci whether there was any contemporary leader she admired, and Pope Benedict XVI was evidently a man in whom she reposed some trust. "I am an atheist, and if an atheist and a pope think the same things, there must be something true. It's that simple! There must be some human truth here that is beyond religion." More here

Fallaci claims to be neither left nor right. She despises the left for the obvious reasons and holds the right in contempt for being weak. For not taking a hard stand and making the tough choices.

"Don't believe in a dialog with Islam. That's a naivete. It can only be a monologue. They do not believe in pluralism. There is no such thing as a "moderate Islam" and a Radical Islam. There is only one Islam."
I too believe this as much as it pains me to say it. I would like nothing better to believe that there is a side we can do business with, talk to. But that is self deluding.

Fallaci:"The real enemy is Islam and the most catastrophic threat is immigration not terror. It is immigration. And they do not integrate in Europe. Maybe in the USA but not in Europe. Those riots in France are a result of that very thing". The Chinese, Vietnamese etc immigrants are not rioting and tearing down the very fabric of society.

They [The Islamists] are very patient. And Clever.

This war needs boldness.

and so she has spoken. And while it was painfully clear she was preaching to the converted, it was also painful that the choir was so small.

Fundamentalist France, Paris Riots, and what is happening

Sebastian Rotella at the leftwing organ LA TIMES ...............huh!

PARIS — A Brinks technician is charged with pulling off a million-dollar heist for a MoroccanFrance_paris_riots_2 terrorist group allegedly led by his brother.

Employees set up clandestine prayer areas on the grounds of the Euro Disney resort.

Workers for a cargo firm at Charles de Gaulle airport praise the Sept. 11 attacks.

Female converts to Islam operate a day-care center that authorities eventually shut down because of its religious radicalism.

.....a recent study by a think tank here paints a picture of rising fundamentalism in the workplace, ranging from proselytizing to pressure tactics to criminal activities.

In March 2004, Hassan Baouchi claimed that stick-up men had waylaid him during his rounds north of the capital and stolen about $1.2 million. But he now awaits trial on charges of faking the robbery in cahoots with a gang of known jihadis. About $40,000 later turned up on a fugitive captured in Algeria. "That's a real concrete example of terrorist financing," said the senior law enforcement official. He also said extremists have been detected trying to establish a presence in sensitive sectors related to defense and transportation.

The report describes a case in which police investigated a cargo company atFrech_frog Charles de Gaulle International Airport with about 3,000 employees. Managers complained that a small group of radicals had tried to gain influence by preaching to co-workers and threatening repeated strikes. Some of the activists "expressed satisfaction" with the Sept. 11 attacks, the report says. The French intelligence official confirmed that authorities closely monitor the notable presence of Muslim fundamentalists among the many immigrant employees at the airport. In 2002, a 27-year-old systems engineer working in the airport's control tower was abruptly barred from secure areas. Police had discovered that he was a devout disciple of a radical imam and frequented militant mosques here, in his native Morocco and in the Middle East. The Iraqi-born imam is now under house arrest, accused of hate speech. "There are worries about the presence of extremists at the airport," the intelligence official said.

France_frog_beheaded [the engineer] was certainly very active in a fundamentalist movement with anti-Western, anti-American ideas. Because of the particularly sensitive job he had, a decision was made, in the name of caution, to reassign him." A lot of financing comes from traffic in fake papers and armed robbery."

In fact, Denece also discusses the emergence of "gangsterrorism," in which extremists team with mafias for mutual gain.

But the private sector faces a more subtle and slippery challenge from nonviolent militants, the report says. Executives say pressure groups in supermarkets and other companies advance oppressive ideological agendas: They pressure co-workers to wear religious garb, defy the authority of female managers and demand boycotts of products such as alcohol, pork, Israeli oranges and American brownies, Denece said. "For French companies, the rise in power of radical Islam represents a new threat," the report states. "This trend expresses above all a move to take control of behavior and ideas of other workers in order to impose a value system conforming to extremist ideology."

As the report points out, Muslim employees in France are starting to organize themselves along religious and ethnic lines rather than following the lead of traditional leftist unions.

On a  sinister level, the study asserts that Islamic networks are trying to establish aFrance_paris_riots_1 presence in firms involved in sectors such as security, cargo, armored cars, courier services and transportation. Once they gain a foothold, operatives raise funds for militants via theft, embezzlement and robbery, the study alleges.

The report was issued before the recent riots that spread arson and violence nationwide and focused attention on France's immigrant neighborhoods, which are predominantly Muslim. Authorities worry that the tense urban climate strengthens the hand of hard-core Islamic networks.

Extremism is rising in France, home to Europe's largest Muslim community, and intertwining with a foreign threat. Recent arrests reveal that France has been targeted by an alliance teaming Abu Musab Zarqawi, leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq, with an Algerian-dominated network, said a senior French law enforcement official, who asked to remain anonymous for security reasons.

UPDATE: Neglected this little jewel in this very article. Leave it to the Fwench. Still trying to minimize the impact and sweep the ticking time bomb under the rug;

"France Back to Normal"

French Rail Workers Strike

France_dead_frogThe open-ended strike at the SNCF rail network, which started at 8 p.m., comes during a week of demonstrations planned by groups including teachers, researchers and Paris transit workers.

There was no way to gague the impact of the walkout late Monday. About two in five high-speed TGV trains were expected to operate as normal, while 80 percent of international trains would run, the SNCF said.

Four unions representing train drivers called the walkout to protest restructuring, job cuts, pay and what they see as creeping privatization of the train operator.

ewwwwwwwwwww, "creeping privatization" - their last great hope.

Ambassador Says France 'Back to Normal'  indeed

From the most Astute Blogger;

A high school guard suffered a heart attack and died today while trying toFrance_deadfrog_2 extinguish cars set aflame by vandals in the latest unrest in troubled French suburbs, police said.

The guard collapsed southwest of Paris in Trappes, one of about 300 cities and towns that were hit by three weeks of rioting, arson attacks or other violence that shook France earlier this month.

While the violence has abated, sporadic arson attacks continue, as they did before the rioting. Police say dozens of cars are torched each night on average in France’s depressed suburbs, where frustrations over unemployment and discrimination often run high, especially among youths from immigrant families.

Yesterday, youths in a public housing project in the eastern city of Colmar threw stones at firefighters called in to extinguish burning scooters, said Jean-Christophe Schneider, a regional spokesman. No one was injured, but the windshield of the rescuers’ vehicle was smashed.

WHY DID FRANCE'S AMBASSADOR TO THE USA CHOOSE TO SPEAK TO CAIR? Could it be that he was opining in front of one of the FEW "FRANCE FRIENDLY" audiences in America, an audience that would EAT UP his lies and disinformation?! Sheesh, how pathetic.

The only thing more pathetic is that many in France think they can buy-off the islamothugs (who Levitte ABSURDLY CLAIMED were rioting because they really REALLY want to be French and are angry because the French people won't let them be French) by promising to spend bazillions of Euros on anti-poverty programs. DOUBLE SHEESH! Don't they know that OUR "War on Poverty" was a total anti-productive WASTE!? [Astute Blogger]

HERE is a snippet of Levitte's INSANITY:

These teenagers feel alienated and discriminated both socially and economically. They don't want to affirm any difference, but they want to be considered as 100 percent French," he noted. They are not fighting to be recognized as a minority, either ethnic or religious, but on the contrary, they want to be accepted as full citizens of the French republic. They want to be part of the French dream.

YIPES! This delusional denial - and DHIMMITUDE - can do NOTHING to slow the demise of France as a European nation. Pity. Next stop: Paristan. ONLY HOPE: Sarkozy.<

DISSECTING THE FROG As the Gangrene Spreads across Eurabia

Riots Likely to Spread Through Europe, Chicago Trib

As quickly as the riots that erupted in the immigrant ghettos of Paris spread throughout the country, there were copycat incidents in Brussels and Berlin.
Last weekend, dozens of immigrant youths in Rotterdam, the second city of the Netherlands, scuffled with police and set fire to cars while chanting, "The holy war has begun."

Riots Might Lead to Militant Islam in France. Experts fear that recent riots near Paris might have introduced a fertile breeding ground for Islamic Militants.

French-Jewish philosopher Alain Finkielkraut;

"And then there are the lyrics of the rap songs. Very troubling lyrics. A real call toFrog_french_2 revolt. There's one called Dr. R., I think, who sings: `I piss on France, I piss on De Gaulle' and so on. These are very violent declarations of hatred for France. All of this hatred and violence is now coming out in the riots. To see them as a response to French racism is to be blind to a broader hatred: the hatred for the West, which is deemed guilty of all crimes. France is being exposed to this now."

In other words, as you see it, the riots aren't directed at France, but at the entire West?

"No, they are directed against France as a former colonial power, against France as a European country. Against France, with its Christian or Judeo-Christian tradition." Read it all here

French-Jewish philosopher Alain Finkielkraut, 56, has come a long way from the events of May 1968 to the riots of October 2005. A graduate of one of the chief breeding grounds for French intellectuals, the Ecole Normal Superieure, in the early 1970s, Finkielkraut was identified with a group known as "the new philosophers" (Bernard Henri-Levy, Andre Glucksman, Pascal Bruckner and others) - young philosophers, many of them Jewish, who made a critical break with the Marxist ideology of May 1968 and with the French Communist Party, and denounced its impact on French culture and society.

Indeed, in the intense  intellectual debate that has been taking place on the pages of the French newspapers ever since the rioting started, a debate in which France's most illustrious minds are taking part, Finkielkraut's is a deviant, even very deviant, voice. UPDATE: November 21, from my favorite Charles Krauthammer;

"France always thought it had one last resort, one ready strategy for fending off the rage of its Arab street: beyond avoidance lay appeasement. No country in the West has done more to cultivate world Arab opinion, to appease Arab terrorists, to ostentatiously oppose American Middle East policy (Iraq above all), to champion the signal Arab cause of Palestine. It was no accident that Yasser Arafat chose Paris as his place to die -- Paris, after Jerusalem, his second holiest city. Paris burns anyway. As the French seem to learn every 70 years, appeasement does not work. It merely whets the appetite" --

and reader Kristian, reproting frm Eurabia

As an European,I am shocked and saddened at the rise of anti-semitism.
Europe losing its jewish communities is a disaster.
So often, the far right parties are being blamed for act of anti-semitism,which they do.What is not said is the anti-israel, anti-jews,anti-america coming from the left parties in Europe.
The left in Europe especially in France are letting their true feelings re-emerged, feelings they kept hidden for decades.
No other parties in Europe are more virulent in their hatred against America and Israel than the so-called socialists.
Socialists in Europe have sold their soul to the Islamo_facists ARAFAT.
EUrabia is well and truly here. We in Europe have acceded to the point of no return.
A fatwa delivered in France, a country which is supposed to be ruled by laicity,is in my eyes, ISLAM ruling the government.

Jews Barricaded in Paris, flee

Want to take the temperature of  freedom in  a civilized culture? Easy. Check out how the Jews are treated.

France,  with Europe's largest Jewish population of roughly 650,000, are the canary in the Eurabian coal mine. Look how they live or should I say exist. When I was there this past summer, I can tell you the Jewish quarter unnerved me, it was reminiscent of the cordoning off of Jews during WW2. ..........a ghetto.

Jews of France have increasingly felt as if they have had to take safety into theirFrench_jews own hands. "For us now, this means one of two things: bunker in with bomb-proof glass, or leave.

Mr. Barthel and his family have chosen the latter, becoming part of what could easily qualify as an exodus of Jews. In the past four years, French-Jewish immigration to Israel has more than doubled. The United States has received an influx of thousands as well, notably to the Miami area, where, as in Israel, entirely French-Jewish communities have cropped up, bringing with them everything from kosher patisseries to synagogues both French in language and culture

Iraq to [Old] Europe: STFU!

Talibani Jalal Talebani, the President of Iraq, in an interview with the Austrian daily Die Presse, in response to the interviewer's question: "How would you respond to the fact that many European countries believe that the war in Iraq was a mistake," replied: "Europeans have no rights when it comes to this issue and the European criticism of Americans is positively inappropriate. Europeans have no idea what misery the Iraqi people endured. I'd like Europeans to take a trip to Iraq to visit the 400 thousand person mass graves. People could no longer put up with Saddam's regime. The people of Germany and Austria could have never been rid of dictators like Hitler without a war. That was the price that had to be paid."Europe_old

The interviewer also asked: "A number of the European countries who have had military presence in Iraq have decided to pull their troops out; does Iraq still require the support of European countries?"  Talebani replied: "European presence in Iraq is not so important. The decisive issue here is that Europeans cannot consider this from the angle of anti-Americanism. One day, Europeans must grasp that 27 million Iraqis finally have freedom, democracy and human rights because of this war."

"George Bush could be bottoming, though it may take several months for this to become clear. But add up all the reasons why the Bush stock deserves a 'buy' rating: 1) the economy is strong; 2) gasoline prices are falling; 3) the GOP Congress will pass a sizable tax- and budget-cutting fiscal plan; and 4) after another successful election in Iraq next month, at least 35,000 U.S. troops will be withdrawn in 2006" -- CNBC Host, OSM Editorial boardmember and former Reagan Administration economist Larry Kudlow

French Claim Paris Riots Now at "Normal" Levels

Riots in the welfare state

Riots in Paris suburbs begin to calm (yeah they've been "calming down" since October 27th)

This is what media will report. Over at Astute Blogger, this is won't they won't report.

UPDATE: November 18th

French-Jewish Philosopher Views Ethno-Religious Character of Riots - Dror Mishani and Aurelia Smotriez
According to the French-Jewish philosopher Alain Finkielkraut, "In France, they would like very much to reduce these riots to their social dimension, to see them as a revolt of youths from the suburbs against their situation, against the discrimination they suffer from, against the unemployment. The problem is that most of these youths are blacks or Arabs, with a Muslim identity. Look, in France there are also other immigrants whose situation is difficult - Chinese, Vietnamese, Portuguese - and they're not taking part in the riots. Therefore, it is clear that this is a revolt with an ethno-religious character."

Meanwhile, Rioters pelted police with stones in the historic heart of Lyon, and youths rammed a burning car into a center for retirees in southern France in a 17th night of urban violence.

Neighboring Belgium registered its worst night in a week of attacks on vehicles apparently inspired by French events, with 29 cars, trucks and buses torched around the country, the government said Sunday. Youths in the Dutch city of Rotterdam also set four cars on fire overnight.

UPDATE  November 15: It's that time again - Blame the Jooooooos

Moslem riots in France have fanned anti-Semitism, and four synagogues and Jewish schools have been firebombed, despite Jewish media reports that Jews are not being targeted more than others.............Jean-Claude Dassier, the director general of French 24h news service LCI admitted to censoring its reporting of the French riots to prevent a resurgence of extreme rightwing views in France. Then Arutz Sheva reports

Over at Franck's blog;

and the WSJ Political Journal notes this effete observation;

"French intellectuals have maintained their silence, despite more than 6,000 burnt-out cars, wrecked schools and vandalized creches and the one death resulting from the riots that have raged since October 27. Now at last the philosopher Andre Glucksmann has spoken out with a provocative thesis: The disturbances are not the result of alienation but a sign that the young rioters are becoming integrated. 'They are integrating themselves by the very act of setting cars alight, even by the fact that they are setting people alight,' he told the German newspaper, the Franfurter Rundschau. According to Glucksmann, negation is a typical form of French integration. 'All parties in France, business, the workers and so on, believe that something can be achieved by violence,' he told the leftist daily"

France, For Whom Will the Bell Toll?

by Amir Taheri Arab News

With the imposition of curfew and an impressive show of raw force, the French authorities may well have managed to bring the latest urban riots under control. And a few nights of heavy rain may also help dampen the ardor of "les jeunes", the youthful insurgents who have wreaked havoc in more than 300 localities throughout France over the past two weeks.

One thing, however is certain: Bringing the situation under control is one thing but finding a long-term solution to the problem is quite another.

The failure of the French leadership to understand what is happening, let alone develop a strategy to cope with it has opened the way for all sorts of maverick initiatives.

A group calling itself the Union of Muslim Organizations in France has issued a "fatwa" (IslamicFrance_sick_frog edict) calling on the Muslim youths to cease their rebellion. The message is clear: Rather than obeying the laws of the French Republic, Muslims in France should follow "fatwas" concocted by the Muslim Brotherhood. A variety of fixers, middlemen, and arbiters, most of them members of various militant Islamist groups, have also appeared at the local level in many places and are presenting themselves as an alterative to state authority.

At the opposite end of the spectrum, a number of proto-fascist groups have mushroomed in the suburbs, especially close to Paris, and are calling for the formation of armed militias to fight the rioters. Claiming that France is already drawn into a civil war they are calling for the army to be brought and martial law to be imposed in the affected areas.

France_deadfrog The one question that everyone is anxious to avoid concerns the nature of what polite society in Paris likes to call "urban violence".

According to the left, notably the unreformed Socialist Party, the trouble stems from cutbacks in government subsidies that have curtailed social services in the affected areas. The Socialists are especially sore about Sarkozy's decision to scarp the so-called "proximity police" that the previous Socialist administration had created. The "proximity police" had been a fig leaf to hide the fact that the real police, along with doctors, firemen, school inspectors, and other representatives of the republic had been excluded from dozens of suburbs for years. The "proximity police" had no authority to detect crime, arrest criminals or even report on criminal activities. But it could play football with teen-agers, organize seaside holidays for them, and supervise "artistic tagging" competitions.

There is no shortage of state subsidies in areas struck by the riots.

Government spokesman Jean-Francois Coppet says that the affected areas have benefited from "massive injections of cash" over the past three years. Nearly half of the population lives on various state handouts. The affected areas have become the hunting ground of professional do-gooders, associations, charities, pressure groups, social theorists, and, of course, so-called "Islamic reformers." For years, some municipalities have devoted almost a third of their budget to such outfits in the hope of avoiding precisely the kind of crisis they now face.

No, the crisis cannot be explained in pseudo-Marxist terms. People do not go around torching public buildings and firing on the police simply because they are poor.

The truth is that the affected suburbs represent a dangerous cocktail in which poverty, culturalFrog alienation and racial tensions are some of the ingredients. But even those ingredients alone would not have been sufficient for causing an explosion. After all the Paris region is also home to substantial numbers of Asian, mainly Vietnamese and Chinese immigrants who are as poor, as culturally alienated and as subject to racial pressure as are the inhabitants of the "exploding suburbs".

The indigenous French do not consider the Asian community as a threat to the very idea of Frenchness if only because it has no universal pretensions.

The Muslim immigrant minority, however, is perceived as a threat because Islam regards itself as a universal faith and an alternative to Western civilization. Most indigenous Frenchmen are persuaded that their own culture and civilization is the best that mankind has ever produced and that Islam's pretensions are misplaced, to say the least.

It is hard to establish which came first but there is no doubt that militant Islamism and equally militant Islamophobia have formed a deadly couple that is leading France into uncharted waters.

" Sarkozy, dirty jew!"

The anti semitism in France has always been obvious, the complicity depected below is depraved

Interesting tidbit : " Sarkozy, dirty jew!" Just a link to a Canal+ video of the riots; aAntisemitism_french subtitle strategically placed sez "Sarkozy, fasciste!" ("Sarkozy, fascist!"), but according to many french forums listeners (including me), the "youths" actually shout "Sarkozy, sale juif" ("Sarkozy, dirty jew!"), this is clearly audible, Sarko effectively being part-jewish.

Did the bobo channel Canal+, and especially the tv show involved which is obsessively left-leaning, voluntarily misled the viewers?

Add this to the "allah u akbar", or the references to Jerusalem or the "mosque" (IE the teargas cannister supposedly shot into it), and you can see theses riots are purely motivated by poverty and discrimination...

Speaking of the Clichy mosque incident, this was apparently a provocation, the so-called "teargas canister" was a spent shell kicked into the mosque from the outside... and the worrying fact is all the mosque pious muslims(tm), including the one who conveniently filmed the scene with his cellphone, the ones who were later interviewed by tv, or even the Mejliss/Oumma (main french muslim forum) mods who suppressed direct testimonies of the incident, were *complicit* in this fraud...

Unlucky Day 13: Paris "Out of Control"

Jihad in Europe? - Robert Spencer

As the French, the press, the media, the left scramble to call the 800lb radical islamist elephant in the room anything but the 800 lb radical islamist in the room, Paris rages out of control

"Ignoring the government's threat of a curfew, youths rioted for a 12th successive night in France, torching more than 800 vehicles around the country ..."

"Police officers, exhausted and dispirited after 11 nights of street battles, say their mainly young African and Arab adversaries have access to ..."

"Mayhem that began as an outburst of anger in suburban Paris housing projects has fanned out among disaffected youths, mostly of Muslim or African ... "

"Berlin Car Fires May Be Inspired by French Rioters"

"... Shouting over one another to be heard, the young toughs vented about their lives in Paris's suburban housing projects, and the rioting setting them ablaze. ..."

emphasis mine............

You'll notice no mention of the wilding muslims screaming "ALLAH AKBAR" - see VIDEO in previous post. It took the press over a week to use the word "muslim" and close to two weeks to start reporting on this historical event - only as recently as two days ago giving it the attention it deserved.

More than 1,200 people have been arrested and about 4,700 vehicles have been torched in France since Oct. 27, national Police Chief Michel Gaudin said Monday. Rioting had spread to nearly 300 cities and towns and showed no signs of abating.

And if you think If you think that French media are downplaying the extent of the actual violence and damage, you are right. Quite a bit of hard news is not being reported both by design and by the circumstances on the ground.
State TV has already decided to stop repeating the number of cars burned every day and film crews (particularly white French film crews) are being chased from the suburbs after having their vehicles and equipment torched. The only journalists currently operating freely and without armed escort are from Algerian newspapers (El Watan has been cited as an example).

Paris_riot_map_2Callers on talk radio are starting to reveal what MSM is censuring: the racist, Islamist nature of the ongoing uprising. State TV has already manipulated reports, albeit hamfistedly. The most notable example was the bait-and-switch reports about the handicapped woman doused with gasoline and burned by rioters. Every attempt was made to have viewers believe that race was not an issue.

The Socialist Mayor of Noisy le Grand, speaking on France Culture radio yesterday morning claimed that in his city women were dragged from their cars by their hair and, for all intense and purposes, stoned by rampaging youths (il a employé le terme "quasi lapidées" en fwançais). Hat tip Tom P via No Pasaran

There is no happiness in any of this, remember this last thing the free world needs is France's nuclear arsenal inthe hands of radical jihadists...........think about that before gloating.

"Oh, you Muslim people in Europe, walk with and like your brothers in Paris and learn that these people are dogs," read a message posted on Monday on the popular Web site of a dissident based in London. "Teach them that we are a single nation and if a single member is touched, then all the others will erupt like a burning volcano." The Web site, the same one that has posted claims of responsibility for terrorist attacks including the July 7 bombings in London, showed images of vehicles in flames and a photo image of a smiling French Interior Minister Sarkozy, dressed as a gangster in a black suit and alligator coat and carrying a machine gun in each hand. (New York Times)

"Some of us believe this is an early skirmish in the Eurabian civil war. If the insurgents emerge emboldened, what next? In five years' time, there will be even more of them, and even less resolve on the part of the French state. That, in turn, is likely to accelerate the demographic decline. Europe could face a continent-wide version of the 'white flight' phenomenon seen in crime-ridden American cities during the 1970s, as Danes and Dutch scram to America, Australia or anywhere else that will have them" -- Mark Steyn, columnist for London's Daily Telegraph.

We are at War with the Left

More proof we are at war with the Left in this country. The left empowers our enemies. The following is the transcript from this morning's international press conference for world consumption;

Q Yes, sir. Back in October of 2000, this is what you said --

PRESIDENT BUSH: In the -- pardon my -- I didn't hear you.

Q In the CIA leak case, has your administration lived up to this campaign promise?

PRESIDENT BUSH: Oh, Deb, look, I said the other day to the press corps that was assembled in Argentina that there's still an ongoing investigation. We take this investigation very seriously, and we'll continue to cooperate during the investigation.

[investigation into what for G-d's sake! There was no crime! - Atlas]

Let's see here. Toby.

Q Mr. President, there has been a bit of an international outcry over reports of secret U.S. prisons in Europe for terrorism suspects. Will you let the Red Cross have access to them? And do you agree with Vice President Cheney that the CIA should be exempt from legislation to ban torture?

[ STFU! this is the question at the press conference at an international summit from the Press, Eurabia is buring and this is the question! -Atlas]

PRESIDENT BUSH: Our country is at war, and our government has the obligation to protect the American people. The executive branch has the obligation to protect the American people; the legislative branch has the obligation to protect the American people. And we are aggressively doing that. We are finding terrorists and bringing them to justice. We are gathering information about where the terrorists may be hiding. We are trying to disrupt their plots and plans. Anything we do to that effort, to that end, in this effort, any activity we conduct, is within the law. We do not torture.

And, therefore, we're working with Congress to make sure that as we go forward, we make it possible -- more possible to do our job. There's an enemy that lurks and plots and plans, and wants to hurt America again. And so, you bet, we'll aggressively pursue them. But we will do so under the law. And that's why you're seeing members of my administration go and brief the Congress. We want to work together in this matter. We -- all of us have an obligation, and it's a solemn obligation and a solemn responsibility. And I'm confident that when people see the facts, that they'll recognize that we've -- they've got more work to do, and that we must protect ourselves in a way that is lawful.

Mr. President, thank you.

[THIS MAN'S POLL NUMBERS SHOULD BE THROUGH THE ROOF! Paris Bomb Factory Found on Tenth and Worst Night of Rioting, Attacks Spread to Central Paris

Paris Burning: Will France fall to Islam?

: "Police last night found a petrol bomb factory in a southern Paris_10th_night_rioting
suburb of Paris, on France's tenth and worst consecutive night of violence.
Six youths, all aged under 18, were arrested in a raid on a building in Evry, south of Paris, where more than 100 bottles, gallons of fuel and hoods for hiding rioters' faces were found."

In the first disturbing assertion that a European country and its capital can be brought to a halt by the massed forces of Islamist militants both within and outside its borders.

Arson attacks spread to central Paris

As urban violence spread Sunday from the shores of the Mediterranean to the German border and onto the streets of central Paris, the French government came under increasing fire for its dithering response to the mounting wave of unrest.

More than 1,000 cars were burned Saturday as violence spread around the country. 186 arrests nationwide as the violence, in its 10th night, moved from poor suburbs into the capital and reached new intensity across the country.

Also interesting that nobody has related the current rioting by young Moslems in France to the rash of anti-semitic arson and vandalism in the past couple of years. It is sort of naive to claim that all this violence is only about jobs when there have been alot of hate crimes commited by members of the same group. hat tip: x....dhimmi

Living under Radical Islamic Tyranny in Eurabia

From Expat Swede ro Monkeyboy (who btw will not be banned as long as no profanities are used. You are allowed to be an uninformed  tool in America);

Planet of the Monkeys,Eurabiamap

Calling me paranoid??

Let me tell you about my own encounters with Europe's muslims. When I lived in Copenhagen I enrolled my son in a private, supposedly multi-cultural school. The principal was a Canadian Jew and most faculty were Brits, Americans or Danes. That to me was a sign of quality. However, I soon discovered that a large minority of the students were muslims - something I have no problem with per se - but they turned out to be radical muslims.

Throughout my son's first year there, the muslim kids in his class kept telling him, day after day, that Allah was going to kill him because he was not a muslim. When I invited some of his classmates to a birthday party they brought as presents toys that were usually broken, things they no longer wanted themselves. They only played with the other muslims and refused to eat anything whatsoever. Including birthday cake. Imagine 12 kids sitting around a table and half of them refuse to eat anything, only because you are not a muslim.

After 9/11 one of this classmates wanted to put a picture of bin Ladin on his class folder. His parents sent money to al Qaeda (which I reported to the police). Another kid, also muslim, lost his grandfather in the attack. This other kid was bullied for weeks by ALL the other muslims in the class for not being a real muslim. They called him all sorts of things and extended some of the curses to my son, increasingly seeing him as an outcast, pariah - a dhimmi-to-beI brought all this up with the faculty and the principal, but the principal was hellbent on appeasing these muslim families and gladly adhered to their demands. At least two Danish teachers left the school because they were unsatisfied with the principal's willingness to maintain good academic standards. I decided that two years was enough, I packed up and moved to America instead.

But I also got other opportunities to see radical Eurabian islam in action. Six months after 9/11 there was a big "peace rally" outside the Israeli embassy in Copenhagen. This "peace rally" was organized by Hizb-ut-Tarhir, an openly islamo-fascist movement that makes no secret of its intent to overthrow parliamentary democracy in Europe. (This organization has been chased out of Denmark, but all they did was to move their operations 10 miles to the east, to Malmo, Sweden - a prime case of social desintegration and Eurabia-on-the-march.)

At this "peace rally" I saw some of my son's classmates, 8-9 years old. They were sitting on the shoulders of their fathers and uncles - wearing homicide bomber belts around their waists, smiling like it was their birthdays, making victory signs with their hands.

At another "peace rally" a radical islamist declared before TV cameras that he was going to send all his six children to Palestine as homicide bombers, "and then I will have six more children and send them too". This reminds me of Golda Meir's brilliant comment that no peace is possible so long as Palestinians hate Jews more than they love their own children.

On the eve of 9/11/01 a group of Palestinians drove around in my neighborhood with a big PLO sign in the back window of their car, crying out their support and admiration for bin Ladin and the terrorists who had just killed nearly 3,000 people.

Some years ago the Copenhagen police released a study of all rapes in the city during one year. Two thirds of them were committed by muslim men, who, during interrogations, typically said that they would never rape a muslim girl, but raping a Danish girl was perfectly OK because they are of lesser value as humans.

Want me to go on? The hostility toward European culture, Western institutions and values among European muslims is clear, present and dangerous. Calling me paranoid is only displaying your own ignorance of what is really happening in Europe.

and more research on Eurabia from Expat Swede;

I want to help you stay on top of the European intifada coverage. I've been searching for news on this emerging European intifada in non-English European media but it is hard to find. The silence speaks a thousand words, obviously - words of fear, ultimately dhimmitude. I found the following, quickly translated, in the Norwegian newspaper Verdens Gang,

"For the tenth night in a row raging youth gangs [no mentioning of their religious or ethnic affiliation/srl] shattered the calm and silence in cities and suburbs around Paris. Late Saturday night news came of youngsters having put about ten cars and a school on fire. They also set fire to five classrooms in a kindergarten in Grigny, south of Paris.

/.../ By 10PM the police had received reports of arson attacks north, south, east and west of Paris. Also among the cities hit are Avignon in southern France and Nantes in the south west. A recycling center and ten cars were put on fire in Essonne. 18 vehicles were put on fire in Strasbourg. Arson attacks also took place in Seine-Saint-Denis were the rios started on October 27."

The fact is, the mullahs and Islamic clerics in France can turn this violence on and off at will.

They are making a point. They are showing Eurabia who is boss.
They will turn it off when they feel the point has been driven home.

Rue the day when they don't shut down the radical islamic masses.

Paris is Burning: Rioting Spreads From Paris Across France

The problem was epitomized by these words of a young Moslem rioter to a French reporter: “In the day we sleep, go see our girlfriends, and play video games. And in the evening we have a good time: we go and fight the police.

Marauding [muslim] youths torched nearly 900 vehicles, stoned paramedics and burned a nursery school in a ninth night of violence that spread from Paris suburbs to towns around France, police said Saturday. Authorities arrested more than 250 people overnight — a sweep unprecedented since the unrest began.

For the first time, authorities used a helicopter to chase down youths armed with gasoline bombs who raced from arson attack to arson attack, national police spokesman Patrick Hamon said. Slideshow

Hitler’s infamous question is being asked anew by Moslem immigrants, characterized by French Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy as “thugs” and “scum,” now into their eighth day of violence in Parisian slum suburbs.

French President Jacques Chirac promptly condemned Sarkozy rather than the Moslem rioters. Such talk by Sarkozy – Chirac’s main political rival – showed a “lack of respect” for the rioters, which “could lead to a dangerous situation.”
All of the rioters are Moslems from Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia, and other French African colonies. Most are second and third generation kids whose parents or grandparents illegally snuck into France.

So let’s wish Sarko luck with the riots, as he may be France’s last hope. If he fails, France’s fate will be summed up in the famous two words of the Roman historian Livy (59 BC-17 AD), Vae victis – Woe to the vanquished.

Further confirmation that France is doomed.

UPDATE: Saturday evening 7:15pm

The rioters have also started using motorbikes and mobile phones to trace the movements of police riot squads, in tactics reminiscent of urban guerrilla movements.

'Each night we turn this place into Baghdad', says one masked youth in Sevran near Paris. As a political statement, there have been better - but these riots seem to be more aimed at the television cameras than the National Assembly.

'It would be better to go into Paris than break up everything here,' his friend says, appearing to consider that the victims of the rioting are predominantly their own neighbours and friends.

'Why did they set my car on fire, why mine?' asks one young man as he watches it go up in flames. He knows the perpetrators, he says. They're neighbours of his, but he refuses to name them.

Every night, Rezzoug is out on the streets talking to local youths in a bid to prevent his own sports hall going up in smoke. 'They answer me: 'Momo, we'll fuck them all',' he says....

Paris Riots: Civil War in France (Video)

[Muslim - they wont say it so I will Atlas]
youth gangs wilding Paris' restive suburbs set fire to more than 500 vehicles and hurled stones at police as unrest outside the capital entered its second week Friday and spread for the first time to other parts of France

A savage assault this week on a bus passenger highlighted the dangers.

Attackers doused the woman, in her 50s and on crutches, with an inflammable liquid and set her afire as she tried to get off a bus in the suburb of Sevran, judicial officials said. The bus had been forced to stop because of burning objects in its path. She was rescued by the driver and hospitalized with severe burns.

The violence prompted the U.S. and Russian governments to advise citizens visiting Paris to steer clear of its outlying neighborhoods, where authorities were struggling to gain control of the worst rioting in at least a decade.

Now that the French have seen how all of this is being reported in other parts of the world, there is a concerted effort by French media to downplay the violence and show as little of it as possible.i-Tele and Europe1 have already openly discussed reporting less on the riots (so as to not fan the flames), and LCI cable TV news (owned by TF1) is opening the day's newscast with reports of the Marseille transit strike, now in day 32.

At the same moment that Prime Minister Vilepine was meeting with French youth this afternoon to discuss their grievances, cars were burned - for the first time in broad daylight - directly in front of the Seine Saint Denis police station.

You will also notice the media  keep changing the number of days this has been going on, bear in mind it started the 27th of October. I'm afraid you won't be getting a true account of events on the ground out of AFP.............calling all french bloggers!

More here on Eurabia and here and  here

UPDATE: MEANWHILE, you have to search for any press coverage on the muslim civil unrest in Paris for weeks now, but all day we are being force fed the video of Chavez's goons protesting Bush at the Summit of the Americas in Argentina. And if they are protesting the  "US trade policies during the 1990s that led to their economic crash" (as is alleged), then shouldn't they be in Chappaqua? The Clinton mop up never ends.

It's all theater in Argentina. Literally performing for the news cameras. The war in France is real. Their agenda is so obvious it is painful............Chavez! Castro! Mugabe!

and what about Denmark? The silence on the MSM blackout on the intifada in Denmark is deafening!

It’s not just Paris. Successive nights of riots have rocked parts of Århus, the second largest city in Denmark. Little to nothing has appeared in the English language press about the second front in the Eurabian intifada. Århus is home to an excellent Danish university, and is a place where I have spent some time. It is usually spelled “Aarhus” in English.

Fortunately, Hendrik, The Viking Observer, has translated in his blog a press account from Jyllands-Posten, a Danish newspaper which has been the target of Muslim protests for publishing drawings of the prophet Muhammad....

The MSM has done everything possible to minimize the Islamist nature of the violence in Europe, and has blacked-out coverage of the Danish front. Here is another example of how the blogosphere has become essential to an understanding of the realities of the world.

Eurabia: Paris is Burning And you May ask Yourself "How did I get here?"

Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis
The historian Bat Ye'or (from a 1991 French interview, published in English translation in 1994) echoed intuitive concerns about Europe's re-Islamization, and warned more broadly,

"I do not see serious signs of a Europeanization of Islam anywhere, a move that would beEurabia_2 expressed in a relativization of religion, a self-critical view of the history of Islamic imperialism...we are light years away from such a development...On the contrary, I think that we are participating in the Islamization of Europe, reflected both in daily occurrences and in our way of thinking...All the racist fanaticism that permeates the Arab countries and Iran has been manifested in Europe in recent years..."

Jeff Tobin on Eurabia:

How did an Islamic world that was prostrate only a generation ago come to threaten the citadels of European culture?
Bat Ye'or starts her answer by pointing to the massive immigration from Asia and Africa that has created new demographic facts on the ground in Europe where, outside of the rapidly growing Muslim population, birth rates have declined precipitately.
But the crisis for Europe isn't just about the number of Muslim babies born there. For the historian, the trouble also lies in the way European elites have acquiesced to their nations' adoption of anti-American and anti-Israeli foreign policies.
"The intensity of Judeophobia in Europe reflects Islamic influence," she says, an accusation that is backed up by evidence she compiles about the massive influx of anti-Jewish hate literature into the West along with the immigrants.
In her view, this has led to a process that is bringing about nothing less than the creation of a "new civilization" she calls Eurabia, a new entity built upon a platform of advocacy for the Palestinians, anti-Americanism and anti-Semitism/anti-Zionism, where the values of democracy and individual rights are under threat.
The creation of Eurabia is the coming together of a number of diverse factors. Combine the persistence of hatred for Jews on the far right, the animus of the left for Israel and America, and a general refusal to see the rise of Islamism as a threat — and what you get is a political and cultural snowball that is overwhelming the ability of the West to defend itself. NOT AN ACCIDENT
The key point is that anti-Israel and anti-American strategies are not an accidental byproduct of the coming together of European and Arab elites.
Since the 1960s, the sacrifice of Israel has been a key to understanding the European Union's attitude toward the Arab world. Add to the mix traditional European resentment of the United States, and you have a recipe for appeasement of Arab demands not only on Israel, but on the fight against Islamic fundamentalism.
"The Arab-Israeli conflict itself has been kept alive by a European strategy as a tool against America and to advance their influence in the Arab world," asserts the author.

Bat Ye'or is the most informed and insightful contemporary scholar of those unique Islamic institutions which regulate the relations between Muslims and non-Muslims: jihad, and its corollary institution, dhimmitude, the repressive and humiliating system of governance imposed upon those non-Muslims (i.e., dhimmis) subjugated by jihad. Although she coined the term dhimmitude, Bat Ye'or's characterization of the salient features of this institution is entirely consistent with the views of seminal scholars from the early and mid 20th century, such as Sir Jadunath Sarkar, and Antoine Fattal. Bat Ye'or's seminal contribution to the study of jihad and dhimmitude has been her unparalleled ability to accomplish two related tasks: (I) methodically and compulsively pooling a vast, rich array of primary source data; (II) providing a brilliant synthetic analysis of these data to demonstrate convincingly the transformative power of jihad and dhimmitude, operating as designed, within formerly Christian societies of the Near East and Asia Minor.

America is the last frontier, and the American people should take it as their duty to avoid Europe's fate.

More from Swede Expat: Dear Pamela: A new comment has been submitted to your weblog "Atlas Shrugs," on the post "No Schadenfreude for Paris."

Has anyone of you heard about the Scandinavian terror cell that was planning a homicide bomber attack on the US Embassy in Sarajevo, Bosnia? Well, here's the story. An 18-year-old Swedish citizen, a muslim born in Bosnia, hooked up with a young Turkish man and a group of Bosnians living in Denmark. The Bosnian Swede moved to Sarajevo and started piling explosives, machine guns and hand grenades in his apartment. He frequenty met with the others at a run down hotel in the city. Allegedly, one of the other people involved had "Mid-East connections", which means that there is a possible link to al Qaeda and their financing network.

Swedish police knew absolutely nothing about this (they are tragically incompetent - crime in Sweden is out of contol) but their Danish colleagues had kept tabs on the Bosnians under their jurisdiction. They formed an anti-terror intelligence unit after 9/11/01 and apparently it was their work that put them on the trails of this terror cell. So they contacted their colleagues in Sarajevo, who immediately began surveillance work on the terror cell. Within days of the planned attack on the US Embassy (and possibly also the British) they arrested them all and the plans unfolded.

Why is this interesting in the context of the Eurabianization of France? It is yet more eveidence that there is a lot more of islamo-fascist activity in Europe than meets the American media eye

Day 8: Paris rioting spreads, Muslims Shoot at Police, "May God bless France because the war has begun"

UPDATE November 4: Intifada in France

Eurabia: Paris  is burning, surprised? Nah, it's exactly a year since they slashed Theo Van Gogh's throat. If that wasn't the wake up call ...............
Shots were fired at police and fire crews trying to quell rioting that spread across Parisian suburbs, with youths setting fire to a car dealership and public buses in battles with riot police, officials said Thursday.

The French government faced mounting pressure today as suburban unrest [suburban unrest? c'mon fellas tell the people what is really happening!- Atlas]Paris_day_8 took on dangerous new momentum, with shots fired at police and fire crews as they battled youths [youths, again with the youths. Muslims!- Atlas] who torched car dealerships and public buses and hurled rocks at commuter trains.

Rioters ignored an appeal for calm from French President Jacques Chirac, whose government worked feverishly to fend off a political crisis amid criticism that it has ignored problems in Parisian suburbs heavily populated by first- and second-generation North African and Muslim immigrants.

Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin called a string of emergency meetings with Cabinet ministers throughout the day, as police braced for another night of violence.

LIVE FIRE used against authorities. Day 8 and still the press refers to the Muslim rioters as disaffected youth. Appeasement they name is France. Until Europe abandons its dhimmitude, it is doomed.

Thank G-d for Bush, the same thing awaits America if we abandon the Bush Doctrine.

But you wont hear much from our media on this, they sleep with the devil. LIBBY LIED!

Young French bloggers are spreading inter-suburban rumors and encouragement through the numerous Skyblogs that sprout up like poisonous mushrooms.

Money quotes from these rising French blogstars: "screw the cops", "too many brothers who did not live their life are in the cemetery", "the cops will pay for this. If you need us in Clichy [suburb where the current riots started] we can come over. Gagny [an other shithole suburb] is just next door", "Clichy guy needs help to screw the cops", "May God bless France because the war has begun", and of course the usual rubbish about Allah and paradise and the like.

UPDATE: It gets better..........FWENCH APPEASEMENT! Watch the kcik in the ass it get them

The French preSS has come down squarely on the side of the rioters. One can only guess that the reason for such an early surrender is that they are afraid that the next step will be bomb belts and suicide attacks. In today's Le Monde, Plantu depicts Interior Minisiter Sarkozy as an American Indian fanning the flames of discontent amongst some burning cars, the better advance his Presidential run in 2007 (this is probably the first time I've ever seen any French media depict American Indians as culprits). Prime Minister Vilepine is seen in the role of fireman, arriving with buckets of water to douse the fire. Plantu always shows the rioters far in the background as friendly figures wearing urban style rapper clothes.

EURABIA: Paris Burns Seventh Day of Violence (VIDEO)

France's government went into crisis mode Wednesday to deal with spreading rioting in the suburbs of Paris, with the prime minister postponing a trip to Canada and the president callingParis_burning for calm. Video here

The violence, which spread to at least nine Paris-region towns overnight Tuesday, laid bare the despair, anger and deep-rooted criminality in France's poor, unemployment-hit suburbs - some of them ghettos where police hesitate to venture despite proof they are fertile terrain for Islamic extremists, drug dealers and racketeers.

In a seventh consecutive night of violence, young people threw rocks at police Wednesday in six suburbs in the Seine-Saint-Denis region north of Paris — about a 40-minute drive from the Eiffel Tower. In one of them, Le Blanc-Mesnil, about a dozen cars burned and curious residents, some in slippers and bathrobes, poured into the streets

Meanwhile, Chirac told a weekly cabinet meeting that "the law must be applied firmly" but "in a spirit of dialogue and respect" to prevent "a dangerous situation" from developing. He acknowledged the "profound frustrations" of troubled neighbourhoods but said violence is not the answer.

"Zones without law cannot exist in the republic," he said.

"A Beacon in the Twilight of Civilization", a Letter from Sweden, Eurabia burns

As Paris burns - Muslims Riot for Fifth Straight Night , Jihad comes to France (see pics).
hat tip LGF

Nothing happens for decades, decades happen in a day.

I am in receipt of an email from a man who fled Sweden.
YOU MUST READ IT. I deleted his last name, everthing else is unedited. Please read it all.

Subject line: A beacon in the twilight of civilization

I like your blog. It is refreshingly free of
compromise and attempts to tell both sides of every
issue. I share your values all the way, and I am
especially appreciative of your support for Israel.

Where I come from, Sweden, being a Jew is almost like
trying to be anything except a muslim in the nexus of
islamo-fascism. Jewish students are assaulted on a
regular basis in schools, and even Jewish teachers are
bullied by students without any reaction from school
administrators. Jewish students in public schools use
code words when talking about, e.g., bar mitzvah or
going to the synagogue. They try to use Swedish family
names instead of their Jewish names, and they
certainly try to avoid wearing religious symbols in

Anti-semitic violence is at an all time high. Last
winter an anti-racist rally in Stockholm, organized by
leftist groups and muslim organizations, culminated
with a raging assault on a small group of Jewish
teenagers. Other anti-racist events have been held on
the same day as Jews commemorate the victims of the
Kristallnacht, but the organizers have purposely
chosen to locate their events as far away as possible
from the Jewish commemoration ceremony. The Swedish
supreme court has even ruled that it is not racism if
a muslim speaks in defamation of Jews, but it is
racism if a native Swede does it.

Islamo-fascism is spreading like bonfire among muslims Swedish_cartoon_1
in Scandinavia. I have tons of anecdotes to tell about

I came to America three years ago, much because I wanted to give something back to the country that has stood so relentlessly by Europe's side against
totalitarianism. Today, many Europeans have turned their back on America, and more do it every day. Some are scared by the onslaught from islamo-fascism, but
they still try to find a reason to blame America for it. It is a sad thing to witness, and it infuriates me at the same time because Europe was the cradle of modern, Western civilization. Today, it seems almost as if Europe is going to become the grave of that same civilization.

It was not easy to come here, though. As a
conservative college professor I soon realized that I
had left the lion's den only be hurled into the snake
pit instead. I taught for three years at Skidmore, a
small liberal arts college here in upstate NY that
does its best to put two meanings into "liberal". It's
a long story that I won't bore you with now. Suffice
it to say that I soon discovered that the venom that
is slowly killing free society in Europe is also being
injected into America, little by little, day by day.

Postmodern collectivism opens the door for
totalitarianism and tyranny. It is the greatest threat
to free society. It must be stopped. You are doing a
great job at it with your blog. Keep it up!

A Paris suburb suffering fourth of arson, rioting and arrests sparked by the accidentAL electrocution deaths of two teenagers fleeing police. The boys Ziad, aged 17, and Banou, 15, died on Thursday when they scaled a wall of an electrical relay station while running away from police and fell against a transformer.

Sixteen people were injured in violence on Friday and hundreds of residents marched on Saturday to appeal for calm and pay their respects to the dead teenagers.

"For 30 years the situation has been getting worse in a number of neighborhoods. It's not a story that's three days, three weeks or three months old," Sarkozy said.

Sarkozy, whose law and order policies have been criticized by human rights groups, made his name by cutting crime figures during his first stint as interior minister from 2002 to 2004.

Interior Minister Nicolas Sarkozy on Monday defended his tough crime policies against claims they helped increase tension after a fourth night of rioting in a Paris suburb in which tear gas was fired into a mosque.

England, The Jews, and The War

There is an excellent article in this week's Weekly Standard discussing how the British liberal elite in the early 20th Century led to the decline of the British Empire. Hugh sent it to me along with these thoughts.
It discusses the possible lessons for the US.  The liberals in England were burned out after the first world war and wanted peace.  They were not smart enough to realize that there was real evil in the world that  had to be fought.  So, they pushed through unilateral disarmament in the late 20s and early 30s.  After all, the "war to end all wars" had been fought and won...right?

Wrong.  By the mid-30s, you had Hitler rising to power in Germany and a nationalist government rising to power in Japan.  England faced the dilemma that she had enemies in two parts of the world...and not enough of a fleet left to face both threats (or even one threat adequately).

Liberals in the US may do the same thing.  Force us to disarm and withdraw from the world...then find that the world has become MORE dangerous...and that we lack the military forces to protect our interests and defend ourselves.

IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE FOLLOWING ARTICLE ON anti-Americanism and anti-semitism in the UK YOU must read it (despite it being a year old):

Exactly one month ago today, I was traveling on a London bus when a well-dressed woman boarded with her equally-respectable son in his school uniform. Ahead of her was an elderly American woman, who said, ‘I beg your pardon, I didn’t mean to bang into you.’ This prompted a tirade from the Englishwoman -- let’s call her Lady E -- that resembled a verbal assault by a Brownshirt against a hapless Jewish pedestrian in 1933. The American -- call her Mrs. A -- sat down and cowered as the tirade continued: ‘I rejoice every time I hear of another American soldier dying! You people all deserve to die in another 9/11. You are destroying the world.’ Mrs A fought back: ‘I personally am NOT destroying the world.’ This only provoked Lady E more, and as the bus driver and passengers laughed, she screamed into the American’s face ‘I wish every one of you would leave this country and not set foot in it ever again,’ and Mrs A began to wince, crying. ‘Thank you for ruining my day and my trip.’ At this point Lady E lunged at the American and began to shake her. I jumped up and shouted at the top of my voice for the driver to stop and for her to leave the woman alone, prompting Lady E to come over to me and grab me. ‘Another bloody American accent! You come here and think you can strut about, well, you are scum.’ Thankfully, the woman next to me pushed her away. I left the bus as the American woman sat sobbing.

This article blew me away. So it is not surprising that a year later British emigration of Israel is at never before seen levels (excluding post Holocaust of course)

After recent years of great hardship, when tourism was dead and nobody came to buy properties here, we were on the verge of going out of business.

This last year has been one of unprecedented success. Our office can report record figures. This upsurge is strongly driven by the massive demand for a place in Israel from British buyers.

We have been running to cope with the recent intensive urge of British Jews to have a place in Israel. Many have admitted to me that they are taking the opportunity to buy a property now because of the favorable currency exchange and the excellent British economy. Clearly, there is plenty of spare cash around to invest abroad. However, there is another unsettling factor that is making British Jews passionate about buying in Israel. The growing anti-Semitism, linked to the increasingly anti-Israel, anti-Jewish, remarks and actions of some leaders in the British Muslim community, has made many Jews feel extremely nervous and insecure.

From a singularly Israeli and professional viewpoint, I can tell you that the growing anti-Semitic and anti-Israel remarks being made by Muslim leaders, and backed by advocates such as Livingstone and Galloway, is not adversely affecting the Israeli economy. On the contrary, I have seen millions of British pounds being pumped into Israel as a community under threat invest with increasing passion, and fear, in our country.

OCTOBER 27th UPDATE A 14 year old's poem, written from the perspective of Adolf Hitler, includes lines such as: "Make them [Jews] take many paces for being one of the worst races, on their way to a gas chamber, where they will sleep in their manger… I'll be happy Jews have died." In the United Kingdom, this contest entry won a literary prize and is included in a children's poetry book to be distributed to schools throughout the country. The editor of the book claims that the poem is an excellent example of a student using "perspective" and "historical fact."

Growing anti-Semitism evolving against Jews in Sweden

The only thing as depressing as the following news story is the fact that Fjordman, the best blog for Eurabia's mindless march into dhimmitude, will stop blogging in the near future. I was sick when I heard it. If you wanted to know what was really happening in Europe you had to read Fjordman, I only pray he is getting out.

The following story hails from the land of the most Righteous gentile, Raoul Wallenberg who must be sobbing in his grave.

Swedish blog Jihad i Malmö I came across a story from newspaper Dagens Nyheter about harassment of Jews in Sweden. Once every three days, an anti-Semitic crimeWallenburg is reported to the police. The Jewish congregations in major cities Stockholm, Göteborg and Malmö are forced to spend up to 25 percent of their membership fees on security and hired guards. Here's Swedish blogger Simulev's post on the subject, with some minor changes in the language made by me:

"Antiracist mobs new threat against the Jews in Sweden"

Not even Sweden goes free from serious attacks against the Jewish minority. Both research papers and individual Jews testify that the anti-Semitism has changed shape. Perpetrators are not only right-wing extremist groups. Leftist radicals and Islamic organisations are spreading anti-Semitic propaganda and participate in violent actions against Jews. For the most part, it’s about harassment such as verbal abuse and threatening letters, but also desecration of grave yards, vandalizing of institutions and assaults on Jews on Swedish streets. The spring of 2002 was the first time in 150 years that a mob in Sweden attacked Jews. A number of people were battered on Norrmalmstorg in Stockholm under the slogan “Death to the Jews”,

Spain's Zapatero Arms Venezuela while U.S. Soldiers indicted by Spanish judge

More CRITICAL NEWS you will never hear. The evil axis consolidates apace  but the media deliberately ignores the march of historical events, too busy trying to figure out what day of her cycle Paris Hilton is on.

First it's a mighty good thing we did not become a member of the International Criminal Court, otherwise these three soldiers would be in serious trouble. (thanks Hugh)

Spain_flirts_1 MADRID, Spain - A judge has issued an international arrest warrant for three U.S. soldiers whose tank fired on a Baghdad hotel during the Iraq war, killing a Spanish journalist and one other, a court official said Wednesday.

G-d, the Spanish are such pussies. First, they vote out the only one with any cujones in that godforsaken  country, Former Spain President Aznar because Osama told them to (see Madrid bombings)..And if that wasn't shocking enough~~~~

Now Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, Spain's new Socialist leader and prime minister (also referred to as President), after leading his party to an unexpected victory  is aiding in the arming of  Venezuela. Yup, arming Chavez and supporting Castro.

Likewise, in a defense on the part of Spain's Zapatero the rhetoric of the past should be avoided when the truth is much more complex. ..... he sealed agreements to sell more weapons to Hugo Chávez, in this case, a number of supposed cargo planes that augment suspicions that the Chavez Government is rearming. The most pathetic part of it all? It will be our blood and treasure that saves these cowards from themselves.............

Claudia Rosett,
On the morning of Nov. 6, 2003, an e-mail sped between two business executives at two private firms, bearing an important tip-off about an impending and highly confidential United Nations business deal. The message was brief and direct. "Dear Andy," it said, "This will go to the Committee next Tuesday. All the best." [Read More]

The Belmont Club has more here on Rosett's devastating ongoing United Nations' investigation into the Oil for Food scandal  and the new discovery of possible links between al qaida and Oil for Food -wild, huh but the way things are going hardly a shocka.

This is far more diabolical than Rove or anyone else, for that mattering, mentioning "so and so's wife is working for the CIA" and yet I  hear nothing about it!  Huh? The largest ripoff in world history and nothing. But Plame and his wife, ginormous fashion photo spread of them running in Vanity Fair at that very time, that is going to bring down the White House..........?

smells like Watergate..........

UPDATE: October 12, The Guardian

For me the 800 lb. jackass in the room is the fact that it was former ambassador Joseph C. Wilson that suggested that his wife was not undercover at the time columnist Robert D. Novak revealed her identity in a July 2003 column.

Referring to Wilson's comment in a July 14 interview on CNN's Wolf Blitzer Reports. "My wife was not a clandestine officer the day that Bob Novak blew her identity," -Atlas

WASHINGTON (AP) - New York Times reporter Judith Miller on Wednesday gave prosecutors details of a previously undisclosed conversation she had with Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff.

uh oh.................Haliburton must be in the mix too

/duck- Atlas

Miller's notes, according to a story published last weekend in the Times, refer to Bush administration critic and former U.S. Ambassador Joseph Wilson.

The prosecutors have been examining the roles of Libby, presidential aide Karl Rove and others in the Bush administration in the leak to reporters of the identity of Wilson's wife, covert CIA officer Valerie Plame.

Before the June 23 Miller-Libby conversation, the Times and The Washington Post had both referred to Wilson, though not by name, in articles questioning the Bush administration's handling of prewar intelligence on Iraq. On July 6, 2003, the Times published an op-ed piece by Wilson suggesting the Bush administration had twisted intelligence to exaggerate the threat from Iraq's nuclear weapons program. Eight days later, columnist Robert Novak exposed Plame's identity as a CIA officer, saying his information had come from two administration officials.

and lest we not forget, it was Plame that recommended Wilson for the job. Wilson, a nakedly leftist apologist. Appearing with Barbara Lee and Dennis Kucinich, and Katrina vanden Heuvel, editor of   The Nation and donating gobs of $$$$$$$$ to the Dems (Wilson Has Donated Over $8,000 To Democrats Including $2,000 To John Kerry For President In 2003, $1,000 To Hillary Clinton’s (D-NY) HILLPAC In 2002 And $3,000 To Al Gore In 1999) -Atlas.

Miller never wrote a story about Wilson or Plame. She testified Sept. 30 about two conversations with Libby in the days after Wilson's op-ed piece in The Times came out.

The newspaper said in a memo to its staff that once Miller's obligations to the grand jury are fulfilled, The Times intends to write ``the most thorough story we can of her entanglement with the White House leak investigation. It's a complicated story involving a large cast, and it has required a meticulous reporting effort - in part to chase down and debunk some of the myths kicked up by the rumor mill.''

oh yeah, I can just bet. We know how veracious the Times is. I expect Chubby Checkers to write the article.

The Times added that Novak has not disclosed the details of his grand jury testimony. Novak has refused to say whether he cooperated with Fitzgerald's investigation.

From the Foundation for the Defense of Democraties

From the London Times: "A vision of an Islamic society that bans mixed dancing and sternly disapproves of homosexuality has been given by Mahmoud Zahar, the most senior leader of Hamas in Gaza. After controversies when a Hamas-led council halted a dance festival and Islamist gunmen stopped a rap band performing in Gaza, Dr. Zahar defended the enforcement of a strict interpretation of Islam. 'A man holds a woman by the hand and dances with her in front of everyone. Does that serve the national interest?'"

You get it now? The problem with suicide bombing is that it can lead to dancing.

The rest of the London Times story is here.

Israel National News ( Britain’s Chief Rabbi Sir Jonathan Sacks warned of increasing anti-Semitism in his country, stating for the first time he remembers, it is “…uncomfortable to be a Jew in Britain.

England/Eurabia is finished. The Jew is the canary in the coal mine. Where can Europe possibly go from here?

UPDATE: Melanie Phillips on Nick Cohen;

A blistering piece by Nick Cohen in the New Statesman accurately describes the firestorm of anti-Jewish hatred that now flares across the British cultural landscape. Cohen is one of those brave few on the left who have defied their comrades and supported the war in Iraq. For this they have been vilified and bullied by those same comrades. But Cohen here describes the further twist provided by the racial identity marker of his surname:

UPDATE October 8th evening: Being Jewish in America, from Ben Stein at the Anerican Spectator.............imagine being a Jewish blogger/blogeditrix.........oy

I have a new faithful e-mail correspondent. He started a few days ago with theAnt_semitism_belsen subject line on his account, "Hi, I'm from Israel and I have to tell you something."

I opened the e-mail. It was the vilest, most obscene hate-filled e-mail I have ever read. Hitler should have killed all of us Jews. We were all kike bastards making Americans die to protect Israel and performing lewd acts on George Bush. It was like acid on the computer screen, like a stench that made me gag. Naturally, it was unsigned.

The sad part is that I get this kind of mail -- not as vile as this one -- fairly often, always making the same points: that Jews are not worthy of living that we're scum that we're in with George Bush on ruining America for our profit and Israel's. Naturally, they are all unsigned, because what they do -- they know -- is insane and also against the law and spirit of Amerca. It's subversive and sick and they know it.

Always, and I mean always, they link their hatred of Jews and their hatred of Bush. Always.

Update: Europe died in Auschwitz

I was walking along Raval (Barcelona) when all of a sudden I understood that Europe died with Auschwitz.

We assassinated 6 million Jews in order to end up bringing in 20 million Muslims!

We burnt in Auschwitz the culture, intelligence and power to create.

We burnt the people of the world, the one who is proclaimed the chosen people of God.

Because it is the people who gave to humanity the symbolic figures who were capable of changing history (Christ, Marx, Einstein, Freud...) and who is the origin of progress and wellbeing.

We must admit that Europe, by relaxing its borders and giving in under the pretext of tolerance to the values of a fallacious cultural relativism, opened it's doors to 20 million Muslims, often illiterates and fanatics that we could meet, at best, in places such as Raval, the poorest of the nations and of the ghettos, and who are preparing the worst, such as the 9/11 and the Madrid bombing and who are lodged in apartment blocs provided by the social welfare.

We also have exchanged culture with fanaticism, the capacity to create with the will to destroy, the wisdom with the superstition.

We have exchanged the transcendental instinct of the Jews, who even under the worst possible conditions have always looked for a better peaceful world, for the suicide bomber. We have exchanged the pride of life for the fanatic obsession of death. Our death and that of our children.

What a grave mistake that we made! ! !

UN, World Body to Silence the Internet and Blogs; Information Control

Back on July 11th,  I alerted my readers to an alarming development in internet access and ultimately the blogosphere.:

An international political spat is brewing over whether the United Nations will seize control of the heart of the Internet. U.N. bureaucrats and telecommunications ministers from many less-developed nations claim the U.S. government has undue influence over how things run online.

Imagine that.  Our most sinister adversaries want to control the one truly free, truly egalitarian forum the world has ever known.

At issue is who decides key questions like adding new top-level domains, assigning chunks of numeric Internet addresses, and operating the root servers that keep the Net humming. Other suggested responsibilities for this new organization include Internet surveillance, "consumer protection," and perhaps even the power to tax domain names to pay for "universal access."

This development represents a grave political challenge to the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), which was birthed by the U.S. government to handle some of those topics.

Well, our worst fears are being realized, Tom over at  Bizzy Blog advised me of this new, horrifying  development (from the UK Guardian);

(“Hendon” is David Hendon, the UK Department for Trade and Industry’s director of business relations):

Breaking America’s Grip on the Net

(Hendon) had just announced a political coup over the running of the internet.

Old allies in world politics, representatives from the UK and US sat just feet away from each other, but all looked straight ahead as Hendon explained the EU had decided to end the US government’s unilateral control of the internet and put in place a new body that would now run this revolutionary communications medium.

In the early days, an enlightened Department of Commerce (DoC)Blogs_internet pushed and funded expansion of the internet. And when it became global, it created a private company, the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (Icann) to run it.

But the DoC retained overall control, and in June stated what many had always feared: that it would retain indefinite control of the internet’s foundation - its “root servers”, which act as the basic directory for the whole internet.

A number of countries represented in Geneva, including Brazil, China, Cuba, Iran and several African states, insisted the US give up control, but it refused. The meeting “was going nowhere,” Hendon says, and so the EU took a bold step and proposed two stark changes: a new forum that would decide public policy, and a “cooperation model” comprising governments that would be in overall charge.

Much to the distress of the US, the idea proved popular. Its representative hit back, stating that it “can’t in any way allow any changes” that went against the “historic role” of the US in controlling the top level of the internet.

But the refusal to budge only strengthened opposition, and now the world’s governments are expected to agree a deal to award themselves ultimate control. It will be officially raised at a UN summit of world leaders next month and, faced with international consensus, there is little the US government can do but acquiesce.

Here’s a statement from  the Institute for Policy Innovation, a free-market think tank):

Dr. Milton Mueller of the Syracuse University School of Information Studies described the recent goings-on in Geneva, where the UN’s World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS) has been debating the future of Internet governance :

What seems to have been lost in the shuffle is the idea of distributed, cooperative control that involves individuals, technical and academic groups, Internet businesses and limited, lawful interactions with governments. The idea that nation-states should not have the ability to arbitrarily intervene in the Internet’s operation whenever they feel like it, but should be bound by clear, negotiated constitutional principles, has been crowded out of the debate.

With Commerce in control, other nations can’t intervene. Putting “governments in overall charge,” as the Guardian article indicated, guarantees intervention by tyrants who don’t like what their citizens are saying, and narrow-minded commerical actions by governments that will negatively affect the world economy.

This is something I would expect a still-in-power Clinton Administration to gleefully give into. It would be impossible to read a surrender on this by the Bush Administration as anything but a major betrayal.

From National Review: “World Wide (Web) Takeover–The United Nations wants the Internet”

If I may add my $.02, WTF? This is a distinctly American invention. It is ours. We chose to share it with the world. And frankly, it's the last vestige of free speech left. The Fifth Column doesn't like what we are doing? Clearly.

It seems to Tom that boycotting the conference would solve the problem. I disagree. I think we have tolerated and absorbed enough of the evil that the United Nations and the world community at large has perpetrated on America and free peoples everywhere.

It was one thing when we all believed their ineptitude and ill effects of their action(s) were a result of a naivety and "good will" - as in the road to hell is paved with good intentions (good case in point - the intent of Live8 but the damage it really does, Bono etc).

The UN on the other is evil, not "enlightened". We know this. We have empirical evidence. Oil for food (the largest corruption and embezzlement in world history, starving the people of Iraq in the process), UN peacekeepers raping children in the Congo and being moved to other "hotspots" in the world (not punished),  U.N. Official Compares Israelis to Nazis...............crimes to numerous to recount here.

Point being? The UN must go. Seriously, it's one thing to be ineffectual, it is quite another to become the "diplomatic arm" for evil that men do. The dhimmi emissary for Radical Islam.

I am sure that Bush picked Miers because he knows exactly where she stands on the GWOT and national sovereignty. And for a leader with vision, focus and a sense of history...........that is the priority above all else. He (and I) will be damned before we let some bulllshit world body try us for "war crimes",  steal our freedoms , or censure free thought.

I suspect the left lunatic liberal media elite are only too happy to see us reined in. Hence their silence on a matter of such great import.  They despise being held to account and having to answer to a higher authority - the truth.

Meanwhile, over in China, land of the bound, home of the tortured....Big Brother in Beijing-WSJ

China's cyber police issued new rules Sunday limiting Internet postings to "healthy and civilized" news. In prose that the Chinese people could identify with George Orwell were his books not banned in China, the state news agency Xinhua said that only information "that is beneficial to the improvement of the quality of the nation, beneficial to its economic development and conducive to social progress will be allowed." Companies that refuse to comply will be shut down.

It remains to be seen whether Big Brother in Beijing is a match for the power of the Internet. With 100 million cybernauts, China has the world's second-largest Internet population, after the U.S. with 135 million. The ability of Chinese surfers to communicate with each other on a massive scale has already made a mockery of state censorship of information.

But China's communist leaders are in a bind. Keeping information flowing on the Web is key to economic growth. At the same time, they desperately want to stamp out threats to their grip on power -- such as information about democracy movements in the formerly communist nations of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Their worst fear is that the Internet will be instrumental in getting a coordinated anti-government campaign off the ground.

Eurabia: Imam demands apology for Mohammed cartoons

The best blog in Eurabia, is the Norwegian Fjordman
He is a must read for those of us cognizant of the  the rapid  islamification of Europe and descent into dhimmitude. Muhammedwesterga_1

Daily newspaper Jyllands-Posten is facing accusations that it deliberately provoked and insulted Muslims by publishing twelve cartoons featuring the prophet Mohammed. The newspaper urged cartoonists to send in drawings of the prophet, after an author complained that nobody dared to illustrate his book on Mohammed. The author claimed that illustrators feared that extremist Muslims would find it sacrilegious to break the Islamic ban on depicting Mohammed. Twelve illustrators heeded the newspaper's call, and sent in cartoons of the prophet, which were published in the newspaper one week ago.......

'This type of democracy is worthless for Muslims,' Imam Raed Hlayhel wrote in a statement. 'Muslims will never accept this kind of humiliation. The article has insulted every Muslim in the world. We demand an apology!' Jyllands-Posten described the cartoons as a defence for 'secular democracy and right to expression'.

Danish author Kåre Bluitgen had difficulties in getting artists to illustrate his book about Muhammad due to fear of reprisals from Islamic extremists. Jyllandsposten, Denmark's largest newspaper, responded by asking 40 illustrators to make drawings of Muhammad, and published twelve in this Saturday's edition. Not all of them were good, but here's the best one, made by Kurt Westergaard (see above).

1948 Hebrew Poster Appealing Arabs Not to Leave Haifa

What It's About...

In response to Arab flight from Haifa following the UN's approval of theHebrew_plea_1948_1 partition of what remained of the Palestine Mandate territory (Britain having used most of the original territory to create the Palestinian state known today as Jordan), the Haifa Workers' Council, a Jewish organization, issued a plea in Arabic and Hebrew. This was on 28 April 1948, just before the invasion by Arab armies. During the six months prior to the outright invasion, fascist Arab forces, secretly backed by Britain, a) infiltrated Arab troops into the future Israel to terrorize Jews and friendship-minded Arabs and b) tried to persuade/intimidate Arabs into evacuating the area, thus limiting possible Arab-Jewish unity opposed to the invaders, avoiding the politically harmful spectacle of Arab armies unwittingly slaughtering Arabs, and facilitating the slaughter of the Jews.

To read The Nation magazine's memorandum, produced in 1948, which cites British intelligence documents proving that the British  sponsored the Arab fascist attempt to prevent the birth of Israel, even before the actual invasion by Arab armies, go here.

The English translation of the poster is below. The original poster (and the translation) appear in M.S. Arnoni's book, Rights and Wrongs in the Arab-Israeli Conflict.  You can view the jpeg  of the poster at  here.

Jared Israel's site is an amazing historical archive refuting every tenet of Palestinian mythology. Palestinian Arab leaders derive legitimacy from the accepted view that in 1948 their predecessors fought a National Liberation war against British-backed Jewish colonists. A 1948 Nation magazine study proves the opposite happened.

Oh My G-d! Did they really say that?

From the Guardian

Compassion is putting yourself in the other person's shoes and feeling sympathy. It does not require affection. One might feel compassion for Hitler, Stalin or Saddam on learning about their appalling childhoods (like most famous dictators, they lost a parent before the age of 14), or even for George Bush (who had a beastly time), but still hate them for what they did.

I really need to move to a new, no, seriously

From No Pasaran

Robert Tracinski adds that

the real war in Iraq [is] not the war against Sunni terrorists, but the Cold War against Iran for control of Southern Iraq. The bad news is that the US and Britain have been evading the necessity of this war for the past two years. The good news is that the issue is now too obvious to be evaded--and there is some hope that we might do something to stop the Iranian takeover.

…The basic strategic error of the Bush administration in Iraq is not that it has been too ambitious, but that it has thought too small, trying to deal with Iraq in isolation without realizing that this is a regional war where our targets must include Syria and, first and foremost, the largest state sponsor of terrorism: Iran.

Instead, the administration is trying to confront Iran only through futile UN negotiations and an ineffective attempt to impose sanctions (for the latest on this, see [here]). Meanwhile, aside from backing Shiite militias in Southern Iraq, the Iranian regime seems to be preparing to provoke a larger regional war with the US--a strategy spelled out by Amir Taheri in today's New York Post.

Meanwhile, Regime Change in Iraq weighs in on UN nuclear body passes EU resolution on Iran.

Now the ball is back in Iran's court. Will it follow through with its threats to retaliate on those nations that voted for the resolution?

Will it indeed?
I suspect, they will continue to verbally circle jerk the "international community" while building their nuclear arsenal apace. Remember, not only does it intimidate the world, but more importantly it keeps their people, the Iranian people, in their place. AFRAID - which I believe is their objective.

Israel wants Britain to tighten law on war crimes suits

JERUSALEM (Reuters) - Reeling from the near-arrest in London of one of its ex-army generals, Israel will press Britain to tighten up laws allowing private war crimes suits to be filed against foreigners, Israeli officials said on Sunday.

Doron Almog, former commander of Israeli forces in the Gaza Strip, decided against disembarking from a flight to London last week after being tipped off by the Israeli embassy that Palestinians had secured a warrant for his arrest from a British magistrate.

The case marked an escalation in efforts to invoke international law against Israel's handling of a 5-year-old Palestinian revolt, and sent shockwaves through the judiciary, military and intelligence services of the Jewish state.

Justice Minister Tzipi Livni convened top jurists on Sunday to formulate a response to Almog's case, which Israel believes may presage other attempts to prosecute its top brass in Britain on allegations of war crimes in Gaza and the occupied West Bank.

Israeli troops withdrew from Gaza last week after a 38-year occupation under a plan to "disengage" from 1.4 million Palestinians who live in the coastal strip.

"It is unconscionable that an Israeli who served as a soldier must fear to set foot in a friendly nation," Livni said.

"Islamic Mafia" Accused of Persecuting Holy Land Christians - Harry de Quetteville
Christians in the Holy Land have handed a dossier detailing incidents of violence and intimidation by Muslim extremists to church leaders in Jerusalem, one of whom said it was time for Christians to "raise our voices" against the sectarian violence. The dossier includes 93 alleged incidents of abuse by an "Islamic fundamentalist mafia" against Palestinian Christians, who accused the PA of doing nothing to stop the attacks. The dossier also includes a list of 140 cases of apparent land theft, in which Christians in the West Bank were allegedly forced off their land by gangs backed by corrupt judicial officials.
A spokesman for the Apostolic Delegate, the Pope's envoy to Jerusalem, said nothing had been done to tackle the problem despite repeated appeals to the PA to rein in Muslim gangs. The dossier currently in church hands details far worse allegations of violence, notably the torture and murder of two Christian girls in 2003. (Telegraph-UK)

Christians living in the Palestinian Authority areas are beginning to raise their voices to alert the world to the years of intimidation, violence and land theft that have been perpetrated against them by Palestinian Muslims.  As a September 9 Daily Telegraph article states, the "self-imposed silence now appears to be crumbling."

Too many churches (e.g. the Presbyterian Church USA, United Church of Christ, Anglican Church, Evangelical Lutheran Church in America) have leveled harsh and distorted denunciations of  Israel, moving toward divestment action and/or condemning construction of the security fence, while at the same time ignoring the very real and serious problem of violence and harrassment directed against Palestinian Christians by Palestinian Muslims.
    * Urge church leaders and the editors of Christian media to publicize and condemn the persecution of Palestinian Christians by Palestinian Muslims. Contact info for Christian publications and leaders is below.  Keep in mind that  listed is a wide variety of Christian publications and organizations, some that have been unfairly hostile to Israel, and others that have been very supportive and fair to Israel, so please be conscious of this if you write only one letter to all the church publications.
    * Thank the Daily Telegraph for its informative article.  Encourage them to continue to report on this topic.

  • Israeli hawks circle Iran's

Ever since its 1979 Islamic revolution the only fate Iran has had in mind for Israel has been simple: its destruction. Now that Teheran seems to be moving towards acquiring its own nuclear arsenal, its plans for its great enemy threaten to be both fiery and radioactive.

Sometimes Iran's stated policy towards Israel is couched in inflammatory rhetoric, like that on a 40ft banner that used to hang outside the entrance of the foreign ministry in Teheran bearing the message: "Israel Must Burn".

Sometimes the language is tamer, such as the "Down With Israel" chants of students who march after Friday prayers in Teheran week in, week out.

But whatever the tone, the message remains the same. The Jewish state has survived wars, internal upheaval, intifadas and bloody entanglements in the internal affairs of its neighbours. But now a major enemy, one committed to its annihilation, appears close to deploying the most destructive force known to Man.

"Having the ayatollah regime armed with nuclear weapons is an existential threat to the state of Israel," Mark Regev, senior spokeman at its foreign ministry, admitted grimly. "We take the issue extremely seriously.''

But while the danger Israel faces is clear, what it should do about the threat poses much more of a quandary.

Some Israelis cite the precedent of the 1981 unilateral Israeli airstrike on Iraq's Osirak nuclear reactor. Israel, they argue, should do the same again and launch pre-emptive military attacks on Iran's growing nuclear infrastructure.

But Iran has developed its nuclear programme with such a scenario in mind. It has deliberately spread its facilities far and wide, using nine locations, according to one intelligence source.

And each facility is buried under tons of reinforced concrete, making it more difficult to destroy, even with the help of the BLU-109 "bunker-buster" bombs the US is selling its closest Middle Eastern ally.

Iran, moreover, is further away from Israel than Iraq, raising even greater doubts about the ability of the F15 and F16 planes Israel would use in any air raids to reach their target and then make it home without being refuelled.

And there is also the question of how the aircraft would get close enough to hit their targets. The US controls Iraqi airspace but it seems inconceivable that Washington would open it up to Israeli combat jets and tankers.

While the problems facing air strikes are significant, Israel's military nevertheless believes it has the means to cause serious damage to the Iranian nuclear capability.

Israel's cruise missiles, launched from planes or submarines, give the country a capability that it did not have in 1981 when it attacked the Iraqi reactor with a conventional bombing sortie.

"It's a bit more challenging in Iran but the military option remains a real one," said David Ivri, a retired Israeli air force officer who commanded Operation Opera, the attack on Iraq's reactor.

"After all, the aim would not be to neutralise the Iranian nuclear programme. That would be impossible. But what we could do is delay it considerably.

"That was our aim in Iraq and that is what we achieved - a very long delay.''

The calculation Israel must make is a simple one: when will Iran become a nuclear power?

The Iraq attack was launched only when Israel's intelligence concluded that Saddam Hussein's regime was within a year of producing its own nuclear weapons.

It also followed a lengthy diplomatic campaign by Israel to dissuade France from selling nuclear technology to Iraq. When that failed, Mossad agents blew up components due to be shipped to Iraq at a warehouse in France.

Only when it was clear that Iraq's nuclear programme continued did Operation Opera get the green light.

According to a senior figure in the Israeli Defence Force quoted in the Jerusalem Post, Iran will not be able to produce a nuclear bomb until 2008 at the earliest; 2012 is a more realistic date and experts believe that the current situation is insufficiently acute to warrant military action.

    Zero hour approaches

and the Europeans think these guys are their friends?

On Tuesday several of the Revolutionary Guard and young Basijis (who are a mobilization force created by Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini; they are extremely Radical and supported by the Supreme leader Ali Khamnei, who is now trying to pass them off as a part of the "student" movement in order to confuse westerners) gathered in front of the French, British and German embassies in Tehran to protest the most recent European resolution against Iran's nuclear pursuits. These demonstrators set the flags of these three countries and the U.S. and Israel on fire.
Iran_down_wuk_2During this regime-orchestrated demonstration slogans such as: "Death to Britain", "Death to France", "Death to Germany" and finally "Death to America" were chanted and the ragtag protestors who were no more than 300 (usually due to the desperate poverty in Iran,  these "demonstrators" are paid a small fee and a free lunch and told what to do), demanded that the Uranium enrichment plant of Natanz be allowed to begin operation once again. ht: onebusygirl

    Kill Jews, Get Free Pass

Recent media coverage of the Mideast conflict has focused almost entirely on internal Israeli tension as Israel's 'disengagement' from Gaza approaches. It's broadly recognized, though, that Israel's sacrifice of its Gaza communities will only foster peace if accompanied by deep cultural reform on the other side ― including Palestinian education for coexistence, and a free, moderate Palestinian press.

Yet important developments in those areas routinely slip under the western media radar:

The official Palestinian Authority newspaper continues to glorify terrorists, flouting the PA's obligation under the road map for 'all official Palestinian institutions [to] end incitement against Israel.' These two men recently murdered an Israeli couple visiting Gaza, yet the official PA paper described them as Shahids ― 'holy martyrs':

All Palestinian journalists, moreover, have been banned from covering internal Palestinian conflict or the PA security forces (violators face 'personal and legal consequences of their deeds'), and urged to celebrate Israel's Gaza 'retreat'. This clearly fails the all-important 'town square test' recently endorsed by Condoleeza Rice, citing Natan Sharansky:

if a person cannot walk into the middle of the town square and express his or her views without fear of arrest, imprisonment, or physical harm, then that person is living in a fear society, not a free society. And we cannot rest until every person living in a fear society has finally won their freedom.

Meanwhile, a San Francisco Chronicle reporter visited a Hamas summer camp, where he found this disturbing scene:

"In this camp we learn the important things of life ― good behavior, respect," said Osama, who was spending the summer at a Hamas-run camp on the beach outside Gaza City. They also learn how to sing "intifada songs," including one urging them to "kill Zionists wherever they are, in the name of God."

    Here's a sample camp activity:

HamascampAt one beach camp, attended by approximately 100 kids, an instructor wore a heavy flannel shirt under which a webbed belt could be seen strapped to his stomach. Asked by a reporter what it was, he answered, with a broad smile, "Boom!"

While the Chronicle should be commended for this coverage (on the heels of its recent, HR-documented slipup), this story demands far greater awareness.

For more on the problem of Palestinian incitement, visit HR affiliate Teach Kids Peace, and sign the TKP petition calling on world leaders to demand reform in Palestinian education, and media outlets to greater publicize the issue.

Why so little western coverage of these disturbing events? Martin Peretz, Editor-in-Chief of The New Republic, explains:

The PA has so many times obliged itself to Bill Clinton, George Bush, and the Israelis to stop official incitement against Jews and Israel. But the most grotesque and genocide-provoking hatred for the Jewish people and their state continues to flood the official marketplace of what you might not want to call ideas. I've known this for years, and American journalists have known it for years, but it has gone largely unreported. It's not their kind of story because it ruins the story of Palestinian moderation, to which so many reporters, columnists, and editorialists are wed.

As Israel prepares for its painful withdrawal from Gaza, HonestReporting calls on western news outlets to recognize the ongoing media restrictions, incitement and education to hate in Palestinian culture ― which threaten Israel's voluntary effort to generate peace with its Palestinian neighbors. you for your ongoing involvement in the battle against media bias.

This just in from always unbiased  CBS news:

Behind Israel's "Disengagement" [their quotes not mine]

But Israel isn’t really disengaging from the Palestinians at all, not even in Gaza, where, if all goes to plan, there won’t be a single Israeli settlement by the end of the summer. Israel will still hold the keys to Gaza, control its borders, its airspace and access to the sea. Palestinians have long described the Gaza Strip as the world’s biggest prison. Disengagement won’t change that. The prison guards will just be manning the walls instead of walking the cellblock corridors.

Iran_freedom_1WASHINGTON - A former president of Iran, Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, yesterday said that he had asked the Justice Ministry to grant a pardon to jailed dissident journalist Akbar Ganji, who has been on a hunger strike since June 11.

The statement represents a surprising twist from Mr. Rafsanjani, who lost the Iranian presidency in a runoff election last month to hard-liner Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. Mr. Ganji was originally sentenced to prison time in 2001 after publishing a book and a series of articles that accused Mr. Rafsanjani and his associates of ordering a string of murders of dissident intellectuals in the late 1990s; Mr. Ganji was rearrested following a medical leave on June 11 for urging his countrymen to boycott last month's presidential election.

    how for the serious news..........

    by Amir Taheri
    The Times, London
    July 27, 2005

LAST SUNDAY, hours after the terrorist attacks in Sharm el-Sheikh, a few dozen men and women gathered in front of the local town hall to vent their anger against those who had transformed the resort into a scene of death and desolation.

With cries of "No to murderers", they invited others to join. At first many hesitated — after all, Egypt has sweated under a state of emergency for 25 years. And the ordinary citizen has little incentive to provoke either the Government or the terrorists. Nevertheless, in almost all parts of Egypt people followed the example of Sharm el-Sheikh with symbolic funerals for the 90 or so victims of the tragedy.

Remarkably, in almost all demonstrations the participants also remembered and prayed for the victims of the suicide attacks in London. For the first time crowds of Muslims were condemning terrorism without making a distinction between the victims on the basis of their faith. So, is this the beginning of the long-awaited Muslim awakening to a dark force that threatens civilised world everywhere in the name of Islam?

Sadly, the answer cannot be better than: perhaps, perhaps not. The 7/7 attacks in London inspired some sympathetic comment throughout the Muslim countries. But even then many commentators could not resist taking a swipe at Britain for having "hosted Islamist terrorists" for years. A number of self-styled clerics, including 58 Pakistanis, have issued fatwas (opinions) that, on the surface, look like a rejection of terrorism. A closer look, however, shows that they still have a long way to go before they could be taken seriously.

Some self-styled clerics, including many in the British Muslim community, have used semantic trickery to hedge their bets. They condemn the attacks in Sharm el-Sheikh but when it comes to the attacks in London, all they are prepared to say is that they "do not condone" them. More disturbingly, their statements include the usual litany of Muslim woes about Palestine, Iraq and Afghanistan, and the assertion that "our youths" are right to be angry. The more they speak the more unspeakable they become.

In some cases sophistry is at play. For example, Yusuf al-Qaradawi, an Egyptian televangelist based in Qatar, has issued a fatwa pronouncing as "illicit" the murder of people who have "temporary or permanent accords" with an individual Muslim or an Islamic state; such as foreigners invited to work in a Muslim country. As for Muhammad Khatami, Iran's outgoing President, it is "illicit" to murder "innocents". The trouble, however, is that he does not define who is innocent and who is not.

Such people use ambiguities because a blanket condemnation of terrorism would extend to attacks on Israelis and Americans, whom they do not regard as "innocent civilians".

But Muslims everywhere need to get to grips with a phenomenon that threatens all Muslim countries and Islamic communities in the West. This requires Muslim opinion-makers to take a number of steps.

JewKilling ok, Everything Else is Terror *SPIT*

In the wake of the attacks, The (UK) Sun published a roundup of Islamic terrorism 'across the world over the last decade' ― complete with map. Guess which Mideast country that has absorbed hundreds of Islamist attacks during this period does not appear in the Sun's account?

It seems that editors at The Sun don't consider the nearly 1000 Israeli civilian victims of Islamic terror worthy of mention as any one of the 'worst atrocities' for the past 12 years.

Could the AP be more obvious in its ANTISEMETISM?

Two days after the terrorist bombings in London, British Prime Minister Blair gave a high-profile interview on BBC Radio, which Associated Press covered in this manner:

Prime Minister Tony Blair said Britain must defend against terrorism ― but must also strive to understand the underlying causes of the violence, which he identified as deprivation, lack of democracy and ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

"I think this type of terrorism has very deep roots," Blair said. "As well as dealing with the consequences of this ― trying to protect ourselves as much as any civil society can ― you have to try to pull it up by its roots."

That meant boosting understanding between people of different religions, helping people in the Middle East see a path to democracy and easing the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians, he said. (emphasis added)

AP Corrects: Blair Didn't Link Israel, Bombings
In the aftermath of last week's terror attacks against London, the Associated Press issued multiple stories reporting that British Prime Minister Tony Blair gave an interview on BBC Radio in which he discussed the "very deep roots" of terrorism and linked the attacks against his country to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. On Sunday the AP issued the following correction: "In a July 9 story about Prime Minister Tony Blair's comments on overcoming global terrorism, the Associated Press erroneously reported that he spoke of easing the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians. Blair did not specifically mention the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in his interview with the British Broadcasting Corp."  (CAMERA)

    Breeding our Executioners

This is the frontline in the battle for civilization. I have written of these disturbing developments here and here, and a ton of stuff here.

The Whitehall dossier, ordered by Tony Blair following last year’s train bombings in Madrid, says: “Extremists are known to target schools and colleges where young people may be very inquisitive but less challenging and more susceptible to extremist reasoning/ arguments.”

“In addition . . . a significant number come from liberal, non-religious Muslim backgrounds or (are) only converted to Islam in adulthood. These converts include white British nationals and those of West Indian extraction.”

    Terror in London

Leaked No 10 dossier reveals Al-Qaeda’s British recruits

Read the document: Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4

AL-QAEDA is secretly recruiting affluent, middle-class Muslims in British universities and colleges to carry out terrorist attacks in this country, leaked Whitehall documents reveal.

A network of “extremist recruiters” is circulating on campuses targeting people with “technical and professional qualifications”, particularly engineering and IT degrees.

Yesterday it emerged that last week’s London bombings were a sophisticated attack with all the devices detonating on the Underground within 50 seconds of each other. The police believe those behind the outrage may be home-grown British terrorists with no criminal backgrounds and possessing technical expertise.

A joint Home Office and Foreign Office dossier — Young Muslims and Extremism — prepared for the prime minister last year, said Britain might now be harbouring thousands of Al-Qaeda sympathisers.

Lord Stevens, the former Metropolitan police chief, revealed separately last night that up to 3,000 British-born or British-based people had passed through Osama Bin Laden’s training camps.

The Whitehall dossier, ordered by Tony Blair following last year’s train bombings in Madrid, says: “Extremists are known to target schools and colleges where young people may be very inquisitive but less challenging and more susceptible to extremist reasoning/ arguments.”

The confidential assessment, covering more than 100 pages of letters, papers and other documents, forms the basis of the government’s counter-terrorism strategy, codenamed Operation Contest.

It paints a chilling picture of the scale of the task in tackling terrorism. Drawing on information from MI5, it concludes: “Intelligence indicates that the number of British Muslims actively engaged in terrorist activity, whether at home or abroad or supporting such activity, is extremely small and estimated at less than 1%.”

This equates to fewer than 16,000 potential terrorists and supporters out of a Muslim population of almost 1.6m.

The dossier also estimates that 10,000 have attended extremist conferences. The security services believe that the number who are prepared to commit terrorist attacks may run into hundreds.

Most of the Al-Qaeda recruits tend to be loners “attracted to university clubs based on ethnicity or religion” because of “disillusionment with their current existence”. British-based terrorists are made up of different ethnic groups, according to the documents.

"Total denial" hardly begins to describe it. And nothing  - nothing  - will budge them from their Bush-hate

Oriana Fallaci faces jail. In her mid-70s, stricken with a cancer that, for the moment, permits only theOriana consumption of liquids--so yes, we drank champagne in the course of a three-hour interview--one of the most renowned journalists of the modern era has been indicted by a judge in her native Italy under provisions of the Italian Penal Code which proscribe the "vilipendio," or "vilification," of "any religion admitted by the state."

In her case, the religion deemed vilified is Islam, and the vilification was perpetrated, apparently, in a book she wrote last year--and which has sold many more than a million copies all over Europe--called "The Force of Reason." Its astringent thesis is that the Old Continent is on the verge of becoming a dominion of Islam, and that the people of the West have surrendered themselves fecklessly to the "sons of Allah." So in a nutshell, Oriana Fallaci faces up to two years' imprisonment for her beliefs--which is one reason why she has chosen to stay put in New York. Let us give thanks for the First Amendment.

    Jonah gets better and better........EUROFREUDE!

this is nothing short of delish, so go run and hide in your closet and gloat  (BUT READ IT ALL FIRST)France
    Brussels is burning

    Jonah Goldberg

If Schadenfreude is taking pleasure in the misfortune of others, then I've got a case of Eurofreude - or Francofreude, or maybe something else. All I know is this: The Europeans who annoy me are moping like they found a fingernail in their brie, and I'm feeling mighty freude. Or schaden. Or whatever.

The decision by French voters to reject the proposed European Union Constitution by 55 percent to 45 percent was a knockout blow all by itself. But when the Dutch voted down the constitution by nearly a 2-1 margin, it was as if the voice in the wind blowing off those windmills was shouting in Dutch ears, "Kick 'em again!"

Now it looks like the British won't even hold a referendum on the thing, which means in all likelihood that this version of the EU project is doomed. (Doomed, I tell you! Bwahahaha!)

That is simply great news. In recent years the entire EU project - at least in Western Europe - has taken on an anti-American flavor. Gerhard Schroeder and Jacques Chirac - the lame duck and electorally doomed leaders of Germany and France, respectively - have kept their political engines running on the fumes of anti-Americanism in recent years. The EU project has been sold as a means of counterbalancing the American "hyperpower," as the French call it. If a project with that kind of billing stumbles - and stumbles badly - and if anti-American nags like Schroeder and Chirac take it in the pants in the process, there can be no more appropriate response from the intelligent American than to dance a jig, do a shot, and wave the giant foam "We're #1" finger in the air.

NATO made the announcement on Tuesday during a meeting of the Parliamentary assembly in Ljubljana, Slovenia.

This is a very important decision as for many years European countries have only heard the Israeli voice in these groupings. Intel: Iran equipped
    for atomic weapon

    Sources say Bush stunned
    by news of N.Korea transfer

While European negotiators focus on Iran's development of enriched plutonium, U.S. intelligence officials say Tehran already has completed all of the elements required for an atomic bomb.

The news has stunned President Bush, according to Geostrategy Direct, an intelligence news service led by national security reporter Bill Gertz of the Washington Times.

"It's an incredible piece of intelligence that overshadows everything we thought we knew on Iran's nuclear program," one U.S. intelligence source said.

Geostrategy says the intelligence information asserts North Korea this year transferred components to Iran to assemble a plutonium-based nuclear warhead.

The components were believed to have originated in Pakistan.

Iran insists its nuclear program is only for generation of electricity. But Washington contends Tehran's intentions are not peaceful, pointing to an enrichment program hidden from U.N. inspectors for nearly two decades before it was officially declared in October 2003.

Roulette_1Has everyone gone effing crazy? What is this? Subversively build nuclear weapons and you too can  get all of Santa's toys!  WTF? MEMBERSHIP IN THE WTO? Iran should be ICED OUT! The toughest economic sanctions we can impose.
Giving them a such carrot? Who th f*ck is in charge around here?

Defiant Iran Plans Nuclear Revival - Ewen MacAskill and Robert Tait

The Iranian government Tuesday confirmed that it is to resume its suspended nuclear program. A British Foreign Office spokesman said such a move would automatically halt two years of negotiations between Tehran and the European trio - Britain, France, and Germany - and see immediate referral to the UN Security Council. The U.S., in a view shared by Europe and Israel, suspects Iran is covertly trying to secure a nuclear weapon. (Guardian-UK)

Beware of Diversionary Tactics: THIS IS THE REAL NEWS

yes yes I have been railing for months on Iran's explosive (no pun intended) NUKES and the Bolton nomination as  they are inextricably connected (as is Israel, Eurabia, China, well you get the picture). Iran's nukes set up a punishing set of circumstances, as this ain't no dress rehearsal. These boys are bad to the bone and if America's cujones aren't big enough then it's the end of the world as we know.
It was my fervent prayer that Bush and Sharon were strategizing this very thing while Bush was serving up them Star of David sugar cookies.

Official: Iran to Resume Nuke Enrichment

Iran Official Says It Will Resume Uranium Enrichment Despite Outcome of Talks With Europeans

By ALI AKBAR DAREINI Associated Press Writer

    The Associated PressThe Associated Press

TEHRAN, Iran Apr 24, 2005 — Iran will resume uranium enrichment regardless of the outcome of its negotiations with three European powers over its nuclear program, a Foreign Ministry spokesman said Sunday.

Speaking to reporters five days before Iran is to resume nuclear talks with France, Britain and Germany, Hamid Reza Asefi said the Europeans appeared to be serious in seeking an agreement with Iran. But he added that any settlement had to respect Iran's right, as a signatory to the Nuclear Nonproliferation Treaty, to enrich uranium.

The Europeans have been offering economic incentives in the hope that Iran will turn its temporary suspension of uranium enrichment activities into a permanent freeze.

Asefi said Iran would not continue its suspension of enrichment for long.

"It is not a matter of a year, but months," he said of the suspension, which was imposed last year to boost confidence ahead of negotiations.

"If Iran feels that the Europeans intend to waste time by prolonging the talks, Iran won't insist on continuing the talks."

The United States, backed by Israel, believes Iran is using a civilian nuclear development program as a cover to make atomic weapons. It has threatened to refer Iran to the U.N. Security Council, which can impose sanctions, but has held off pending the negotiations with the Europeans.

    Boycotting Israel? Read Douglas Davis

AUT (Association of University Teachers) members are not proposing to boycott universities in North Korea, Zimbabwe, or Sudan, where the government has been accused of perpetrating genocide against its own people. Supporters of boycotts often argue that Israel should be treated like apartheid South Africa. That is a controversial parallel which many Israelis see as delegitimating their state. (Guardian-UK)
A controversial parallel - there goes the Guradian again twisting words like so much Play Doh. It is a MORAL INVERSION

    Boycotting Israel? Read this
    Douglas Davis, The Spectator

Pay attention, British professors. If you support the boycott of Israel proposed by some of your fellow academics -- and if you are to remain intellectually honest -- prepare for a radical lifestyle change. Firstly, unplug your computers. Good. Now switch off your interactive digital television sets. Well done. And now throw away your mobile phones. Excellent.Boycottisrael_1

You see, Professors, these machines are not only the engine of the globalized, capitalist world but they also depend on technologies that have been produced by Israeli academics in the Zionist entity. Also, I'm afraid you may not use the British Library because it has been computerized by Ex Libris, a Zionist company that was spawned by the odious Hebrew University of Jerusalem. And if, God forbid, you develop problems of the small intestine, you may not pop the Zionist-invented "video capsule," which passes naturally through your body as it monitors this delicate piece of your anatomy. You will, sadly, have to take it up your respective derrieres, Professors. As a matter of principle, of course. All this boycotting, you see, is the logical extension of academic sanctions against Israel proposed by some members of your Association of University Teachers (AUT) at their meeting in Eastbourne, England, this week. Just visit the Web site of Egyptian-born Mona Baker of the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology. She set the standard by firing two Israeli scholars from the boards of her translation journals as a matter of high academic principle. You will see that Ms. Baker's ambitions do not end with the academic boycott. Her Web site also includes a section entitled "Boycott Israeli Products & Services," which features dozens of global brands that, inconveniently, are not Israeli at all. The offenders presumably have earned their place in infamy by dealing with the Zionist entity, by being owned by Jews or by having Jews on their boards. They range from Coca-Cola and Nescafe to Johnson & Johnson and Estee Lauder, from Hugo Boss and Ralph Lauren to Selfridges and Marks & Spencer, from Kleenex and Wonderbra to Lancome and -- all marked for boycott. Absent from Ms. Baker's list -- and here I think I can help -- is a set of global companies that are arguably even more culpable because they not only operate in Israel but also do most of their R&D there. IBM and Intel each have three R&D centres in Israel, Microsoft established its first non-American facility there and Cisco Systems has built its only non-American R&D centre in Israel. Then there is Motorola, which has its largest R&D site in Israel, and News Corp, whose company NDS develops those neat interactive technologies for digital television.

Jew Hatred Continues to Run Amok in the Motherland

British Lecturers Renew Call to Boycott Israeli Academics by Tamara Traubman
The leading union of British lecturers may boycott Israeli academics who refuse to condemn their government's policies in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. The Association of University Teachers' annual council, which convenes on April 20, will debate whether to boycott three of Israel's eight universities - the University of Haifa, Bar-Ilan University and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem - over their alleged complicity with the government's policies on the territories. (Ha'aretz)
See also The Monstrous Regiment of University Teachers by Melanie Phillips
What is notable about the AUT motion is that it reflects the truly shocking ignorance of the region's history and current political reality, the resulting deep gullibility to propaganda based on lies, and the consequent vicious double standards and prejudice that now characterize British received opinion on the subject of Israel. (Melanie Phillip's Diary)

My ongoing battle against Academia. This is what Elliott Karsh was talking about at the Academic Integrity Conference at Columbia. Not only is this blatant antisemitism it is frightening in its future implications. It's not just England, more frightening is the brainwashing on American campuses. They are stealing the minds of our young...........look to the rightside of my sidebar and view the Life Magazine Cover from 1970, what are those Pali children doing now? What an evil!

What is this obsession with Israel, with the Jews? It is mirrored worldwide charaded in various disguises like the  World Council of  Churches Giving the  Nod to Israeli Divestment Proposal
    My take on this?
As Jesus said, "By their acts (words) ye shall know them" so we know them. Because Christians (or the English or the French or _____[fill in anyone that spews poison against Israel]) can champion downtrodden peoples all over the globe like those poor South African raped children, child sex slavery, the child rape by the French UN peacekeeping forces in the Congo, the multimillion modern slaves in the Sudan and elsewhere, the starving in North Korea, the Arab women suffering from severe sharia laws, but no, they focus on the Palestinians. Why? It's not about the Palestinians, it's about sticking it to who they hate or are jealous of, the Jews or Israel. Like American liberals like Michael it about the Jews or even the American downtrodden or sticking it to "daddy" the Republican administration or Israel. These people are transparent because where do you focus your limited energies? (Dr Nancy)

EU  Denies It Funded PA Terror - Herb Keinon
The EU's anti-fraud squad,  Olaf, released a long-awaited report Thursday that found "no conclusive  evidence"[uh what do we need Pali swiss bank numbers? Atlas] to link EU funds to Palestinian terror, a conclusion dismissed in Israel as "mistaken" and a "whitewash." At the same time, the report also said, "some of the practices of the past, such as the payment of salaries to convicted persons or the financial aid given to families of 'martyrs' as well as the Fatah contributions by PA staff, are liable to be misunderstood and so to lead to allegations that the PA is supporting terrorism." [d'oh Atlas]
Foreign Ministry  spokesman Mark Regev said, "We know that this is not true. There is specific, detailed, incontrovertible evidence that shows the contrary is the case." Following Operation Defensive Shield in 2002, when boxes of documents were taken from Arafat's offices in Ramallah that Israel said showed a clear link between the EU money and terror payments, Israel provided the EU body with what it  believed to be hard evidence. Someone tell the French their Dark, Dirty Souls are Showing (Again)

In December, a French court forced a reluctant cable and satellite provider, Eutelsat, to take Hezbollah's Al Manar television channel off the air. Eutelsat was back in a Paris courtroom yesterday, this time defending the imminent disappearance of the Chinese-language New Tang Dynasty Television (NTDTV) network from its Asian satellite.
How curious: One standard for Hezbollah and another for Chinese democrats. Only three months ago, the Paris-based operator stood by its commitment to "non-discrimination" and "equitable" access for Al Manar, as stipulated in black and white in its convention, until the station lost its French license for inciting hatred of Jews.
Unlike Hezbollah TV, the New York-based NTDTV doesn't promote terrorism or air racist views, and for that reason is in good standing with French regulators. But Vanessa O'Connor, a Eutelsat spokeswoman, told us yesterday that the need for "maximum flexibility" in the use of its W5 satellite "with commercial interests in mind" is why NTDTV will be off Chinese television screens by next month. [uh Vanessa say what? ishcabibble! Atlas]
And, oh, Ms. O'Connor insisted that "we are not reacting to political pressure from Chinese authorities or any other authorities." [you dont say? Atlas]
Why doth Eutelsat protest so much? Easy: By its own by-laws, the once-state-owned and now private company is obliged to broadcast anyone who can pay the bills and meet the content standards of the relevant authorities in the interest of free flow of ideas and information -- all highly commendable goals, one might add. NTDTV plainly meets the financial and content standards, and is trying to prove it in a Paris court.
Beijing's contempt for New Tang Dynasty is no secret. A small nonprofit founded in 2001, NTDTV claims to be the only non-governmental Chinese-language channel broadcast on the mainland. Its uncensored news, entertainment and cultural fare theoretically can reach 200 million Chinese speakers, including 50 million in Communist China.

In an authoritarian country, as China's rulers know, public access to outside information is a threat to the ruling powers and their efforts to control thought. For Europe, the case will show whether an outside power writes the broadcasting rules for the Continent. To Aiden White, general secretary of the International Federation of Journalists, this is "a shocking act of censorship." All the more so, since it involves Eutelsat, which in other circumstances claims to be holier than thou when it comes to free access [G-d love those crazy contradicting hypocrites -Atlas].
but people close to this case speculate that the heat from the Chinese and French authorities was too much to bear. Led by France, the EU is moving to lift an arms embargo on China soon, as part of a broader push to drum up business in China. [what happened to the EU's peace, love and understanding? NO WAR but arm sales to China? huh?]

ChinaSatComis an arm of the Ministry of Information & Industry that pressed the company and the French government to pull the plug on NTDTV. The station isn't optimistic about finding another satellite operator for Asia willing to risk Beijing's ire.
    The danger to freedom of speech everywhere is in plain view now. Fifty-three members of the European Parliament, in a letter to Mr. Berretta last week, wrote: "We count on you and Eutelsat to maintain our joint commitment to fundamental European values and agreements so that this 'open satellite window' continues to grow wider, rather than be slammed shut for another generation." [ER, don't hold yer breath, Atlas}

No Honor among Pali Thieves......Whadda buncha THUGS, the Case of the Little Black Bag

From the truth is stranger than fiction file: Arafish's black bag of stolen millions is missing! You don't say! And it seems that because every one of his entourage of hoodlums were serial theives (as well as murderers), the thief could be one of a great manytop level Pali government aids. And to think thats my taxpyer money *spit*. This from todays Jerusalem Post:

On his journeys around the world, Yasser Arafat was in the habit of taking a  suitcase full of cash for "emergency" cases.

Once, the suitcase, known among his inner circle as the "black bag," used to  contain $170,000 in cash. The sum, used for "miscellaneous" expenses – including  gifts, bribes and tips – was later raised to $500,000.

On his last trip to Paris in late October, the ailing Arafat did not forget  to take along the suitcase, which this time contained $1.6 million. Arafat even  had a special aide whose only job was to carry the "black bag" and distribute  money according to his boss's instructions.

But when Arafat's coffin was returned to Ramallah aboard an Egyptian military  helicopter two weeks later, many PA officials noticed that the suitcase was  missing. Some assumed that Arafat's bag-carrier had returned the suitcase with  the money to the PA chairman's office. Others did not bother to ask for fear of  alienating Arafat's top cronies.

Hafez Barghouti, editor of the Ramallah-based daily Al-Hayat  Al-Jadeeda, revealed that the PA had launched an investigation into the  circumstances of the disappearance of Arafat's cash-filled suitcase.

"Arafat's secret-keeper who carried the black bag has gone to work in the  Palestinian embassy in Moscow and no one knows what happened to the suitcase,"  he said.

Barghouti accused the unnamed bag-carrier of stealing the suitcase and hinted  to the involvement of many of Arafat's longtime aides in the theft.

He recalled a case where a reporter once asked Arafat for financial  assistance. Arafat summoned the man with the suitcase and ordered him to pay the  journalist a specified sum of money.

But when the journalist counted the money, he found that it was less than the  amount Arafat had promised him. He immediately complained to Arafat, who  summoned the trusted aide and severely reprimanded him in the presence of all  those who were in the room.

The aide apologized for the "mistake" before rushing to a nearby room and  returning with an envelope that contained the missing sum.

"I wonder how many 'mistakes' this bag-holder has made over the past  decades," Barghouti said. "Most of those who used to receive money from Arafat  did not dare count it. They would quickly put the money in their pockets and  leave, believing that Arafat, not the bag-carrier, had deducted a certain sum."

the "European Dream" vs. "Old America" - Ha!

And so the streets of Paris are alive with the semblance of  solidarity: "Down with Neoliberal Globalization," and "Defend Public Service à  la française," or "The World is Not For Sale" are the kind of banners we can  expect. Hundreds of thousands of people talk the talk of solidarity but in  reality walk the walk of self-interest: their "right" to retire at 57 on their  unemployed children's backs; their "right" to work four days a week; their  "right" to salary increases even as they work less; their "right" to protect  their standard of living even as millions of their compatriots are without  work.

The banners will declare that the profits of French multinational  companies are at all time highs and yet these companies refuse to create jobs.  What the protesters don't understand is that profits are high because some  corporations, like Michelin, earn 60% of their revenues overseas. Expanding the  labor force at home makes little sense for them.

Above all, profitable companies refuse to create jobs and invest  in France because they are wary of getting tied down to lifetime commitments to  workers -- commitments they never had to make during the Glory Days of French  capitalism. Back then, in the 1960s, unemployment was only 2% but labor turnover  rates were higher than today.

Israel Intercepted Order from Jihad Leader in Damascus for Tel Aviv BombingIsraeli intelligence officers briefed ambassadors of the EU, the G8, and the UN Security Council on Friday's Tel Aviv bombing. They read from a transcript of an intercepted telephone call in which Ramadan Shallah, Islamic Jihad's Damascus-based leader, ordered a West Bank commander to go ahead with the bombing. Mark Regev, the foreign ministry spokesman, said: "In a regime like the Syrian regime, such an order could not come from Damascus unless the regime was acquiescing or collaborating." (Independent-UK) Western Donors Weigh Billions for Palestinians - Josh MeyerTop U.S. and European officials met with the new Palestinian leadership in London to consider $4.5 billion or more in new aid that they hope will bolster the Palestinian government. Pledging money may prove to be the easy part. The larger challenge will be avoiding the corruption that drained the life out of aid programs during Arafat's long tenure. "Things haven't changed as much as they need to change, and it is going to be very difficult," said Danielle Pletka of the American Enterprise Institute. The PA has received billions of dollars for schools, hospitals, roads and other basic needs in the last decade, one of the most expensive development programs ever on a per-capita basis. But millions of dollars disappeared. Last year Congress stipulated that outside auditors must be able to monitor how the money was used. But a few months ago, as Congress considered a request for another $20 million, aides said they learned that U.S. auditors were not permitted to enter the building where they thought the records were. BUSH DOCTRINE: Initial formulation: No distinction between terrorists and those who harbor them

OOOPS!.........The BBC did it again and again and again

Thank G-d for Honest Reporting. Once again the BBC apologizes (imagine how many mistakes and lies are told in pursuit of their agenda that don't make the light of day)? When it comes to twisting, they make Chubby Checker look pathetic. What is it going to take to remove the blindfold off the regular folk so they see how manipulated they are. They are getting soooooo played.

For the second time in two weeks, BBC has issued an official apology for  irresponsible coverage of the Mideast conflict.

In the wake of Friday's Tel Aviv bombing, BBC One TV produced a segment  called 'A Family in Mourning', which showed extensive footage of the  parents of the Palestinian terrorist, but no pictures at all of the mourning  families of the terrorist's victims!

After a wave of protest, BBC issued this  'correction', which comes right on the heels of a BBC  apology for a recent radio spot accusing the IDF of ordering soldiers to  'shoot unarmed [Palestinian] schoolchildren.' [See Feb.  16 HonestReporting communique.]

Thank Honest Reproting for their ongoing involvement in the battle media bias.

When I Asked Bat Ye'or what we should do, She said "LEARN EVERYTHING FIRST"

I say the same to the many that share my love, fear, and desire to save the free world. No I am not an alarmist, but my head is out of the sand. In order to fully understand the current world stage it is urgent we understand how we got there. The following is Tobin's review of Ye'or's brilliant analysis of the loss of Europe. READ IT and buy it off JWR (click on headline) they could use the money. I have no stake in any of it just that it is a MUST READ, you'll thank me big time.

Author paints dark tale of a cowardly continent on the run A quarter-century ago, author Bat Ye'or set out to debunk the myth that Jews and other non-Muslim minorities enjoyed a golden age of freedom while living in countries under the sway of Islam. p> br />Her ground-breaking book, Dhimmi: Jews and Christians Under Islam, shined a spotlight on the plight of those who found themselves under Muslim rule. But after several other works that also focused on the concept of the dhimmi — the word used by Muslims to describe those who lived as their legal inferiors — the author has expanded her focus. (Click HERE to purchase. Sales help fund JWR.)

For Ye'or (a pen name), the question is no longer one of correcting the historical record about supposed golden ages of interfaith relations. Writing at a time of resurgent Islamic fundamentalism that embraces the concept of jihad, she sees the dhimmis as no longer just the marginalized non-Muslims living in Arab countries. Her main concern today is how contemporary Europe is itself being transformed into a dhimmi nation. p>

THE FUTURE OF ‘OLD EUROPE’ The result of her work on this question is a new book, Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis, and those who wonder about the future of what Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld is fond of calling "old Europe" would do well to consult this dense, scholarly work.

A Jew who was born in Egypt and a subsequent immigrant to Britain, the author ultimately settled in Switzerland. From that vantage point, she has observed a sea change in European culture and politics, where anti-Semitism has gone mainstream and acquiescence to Islamic extremism is a given in foreign policy. Spend an hour talking about the situation with her, as I did this week, and you walk away with a grim vision of the future.

The intensity of Judeophobia in Europe reflects Islamic influence," she says, an accusation that is backed up by evidence she compiles about the massive influx of anti-Jewish hate literature into the West along with the immigrants.

In her view, this has led to a process that is bringing about nothing less than the creation of a "new civilization" she calls Eurabia, a new entity built upon a platform of advocacy for the Palestinians, anti-Americanism and anti-Semitism/anti-Zionism, where the values of democracy and individual rights are under threat. p>

NOT AN ACCIDENT key point is that anti-Israel and anti-American strategies are not an accidental byproduct of the coming together of European and Arab elites. p>

The Arab-Israeli conflict itself has been kept alive by a European strategy as a tool against America and to advance their influence in the Arab world," asserts the author. p>

BUY THE BOOK Purchasing "Eurabia: The Euro-Arab Axis" by clicking HERE helps fund JWR. It also makes a great gift!

Wrongly viewing Israel as the product of Europe's original sin of colonialism, rather than as the national liberation movement of the long-oppressed Jewish people, the continent's elites have "projected onto Israel all the evils of Europe." p>

Digging even deeper into the European psyche, Bat Ye'or sees a growing willingness to view European Christianity as more compatible with Islam than Judaism.

post Judeo-Christian Europe," she explains, is practicing an intellectual version of unilateral disarmament, pointing out that this has been promoted by official E.U. dialogue forums with Islamic thinkers. p>

As is the case here, academic institutions in Europe devoted to the study of Islam are soft-pedaling the threat. European intellectuals who are unwilling to stand up for Western values — and who sneer at America's mission of bringing democracy to the Arab world — are "abandoning resistance to jihad and dhimmitude," according to the author.

The inevitable result is a Europe that will, over the course of the next few decades, gradually fall more and more under the control of the Islamic world.

For Bat Ye'or, the only good news comes from the United States. She writes in her book's conclusion that America's policy toward the Israeli/Palestinian conflict and its war on Islamic terrorism has "crystallized within European societies an awareness and resistance of a policy of dhimmitude." An assertive America, undaunted by the siren song of European appeasement, has the chance to turn the tide of history.

But in light of the astounding growth of anti-Semitism and the feeble response of European governments to Islamic violence and threats directed at critics of Islam; the insistence of European governments on a policy of appeasement rather than confrontation of Iran's nuclear weapons programs; as well as their attempts to undermine American efforts in Iraq; and the author's alarmism seems not only well founded, but long overdue.

Love, look at the two of us Allies Resisting as U.S. Pushes Terror Label for Hizballah - Steven R. WeismanThe Bush administration is arguing with European governments over whether they should designate Lebanon-based Hizballah a terrorist organization. In the past two weeks, France has rebuffed appeals by Secretary of State Rice and Israeli Foreign Minister Shalom to list Hizballah as a terrorist organization, which would prevent it from raising money in Europe through charity groups. Israeli and American officials say that Palestinian chairman Abbas has told them that he, too, regards Hizballah as a destructive force, one determined to undermine peace talks by supporting militant groups that attack Israelis. The Netherlands, Italy, and Poland support the Bush administration's view, while Germany and Britain believe the issue is moot unless the French change their minds. France Nixes Request to List Hizballah as Terrorist Group - Aluf Benn
French President Jacques Chirac on Monday turned down a request from Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom to support placing Hizballah on the EU's list of terrorist organizations. France's objections are considered the main obstacle to an EU move to add Hizballah to the terror list. (Ha'aretz)

Far be it from me to make harsh generalizations but i gotta say it............the French suck!

Thank G-d for Charles. Little Green Footballs reports on a LA Times piece on United Nations: A Network of Pedophiles

A French UN worker accused of child rape in Congo says there is an organized network of pedophiles at the UN mission: Explicit Photos Fan U.N. Sex Scandal. UNITED NATIONS — A scandal about the sexual abuse of Congolese women and children by U.N. officials and peacekeepers intensified Friday with the broadcast of explicit pictures of a French U.N. worker and Congolese girls and his claim that there was a network of pedophiles at the U.N. mission in Congo.

ABC News' "20/20" program showed pictures taken from the computer of a French U.N. transport worker. The hard drive reportedly contained thousands of photos of him with hundreds of girls. In one frame, a tear can be seen rolling down the cheek of a victim..

This is the moral compass of the world?..............These atrocities are beyond all measure of "spin"...depraved, degenerate lowlifes
Its time for revolution, not evolution...........the UN is a pox on world history

What is happening here? I am screaming into a void. This is barbarism, thuggery, depraved crimes against humanity.

If we can joke about this, if we are so inured to the evil, then we too are accessories.

Call WASHINGTON, YOUR CONGRESSMEN, YOUR SENATORS and laugh and cry in a single sound.
Get these clowns off their taxpayer funded asses and have them do something. What are they there for? To fine me for smoking and not wearing a seatbelt? To put a gun to my head to rob me of my hard earned pay.

BASTA! Where the f*ck is the left? Where is FOX? Where is the mercy? Where are we in this cesspool of moral equivocation?

    Oh the humanity................................

    And the Band Plays on

The news from Europe just gets worse and worse. They are in the death throes of complete dhimmitude and what is their knee jerk reaction? To vilify Israel, deify Ararat and burn Bush in effigy. Yeah yeah, I gotta say it again. Bush is our only hope. He will, in his beautful myopic single minded mission remake, or I should say RETAKE, the world. All I can say is thank G-d for Charles Johnson of Little Green Footballs, Powerlineblog and the rest of the Blogoshere for saving us from a sKerry/Annan/Chirac White House...................altogether now ahhhhhhhhhhhmen, ahhhhhhhhhhhhmen ah men ah men AMEN!
Attacks on British Jews Hit Record High - Michael HoldenThe Community Security Trust (CST), which represents Britain's 290,000-strong Jewish community on security matters, said on Thursday there had been 532 "anti-Semitic incidents" - defined as malicious acts toward Jews - in 2004, including a record 83 assaults. The total, which included abuse and threats, was a rise of 42% from 2003, and well above the previous record high of 405 in 2000. "This increase is extremely alarming. The transfer of tensions in the Middle East to the streets of Britain has resulted in an unprecedented level of anti-Semitic incidents," said Michael Whine, director of communications for the CST.
