US TEXTBOOKS: JESUS WAS A PALESTINIAN

Is he wearing a suicide vest?

U.S. Textbooks: ‘Jesus was Palestinian’ INN

‘"Christianity was started by a young Palestinian named Jesus." This is one of hundreds of distortions, misrepresentations and outright lies found about Judaism and Jewish history by a comprehensive study of the 28 most widely used Social Studies textbooks in the United States. In a landmark book called “The Trouble with Textbooks,”Dr. Gary A. Tobin and Dennis R. Ybarra show how millions of American schoolchildren are taught anti-Semitic versions of Jewish history and faith, particularly in relation to Christianity and Islam, in passages that often amount to sheer libel.

The authors found that U.S. textbooks “tend to discredit the ties between Jews and the Land of Israel. Israel is blamed for starting wars in the region and being colonialist. Jews are charged with deicide in the killing of Jesus. All in all, there are repeated misrepresentations that cross the line into bigotry.”

Among the teachings that were found in American textbooks are the following distortions:

Among the teachings that were found in American textbooks are the following distortions:

·         Jesus was a “Palestinian”, not a Jew.
·         The Arab nations never attacked Israel. Arab-Israeli wars “just broke out,” or Israel started them.
·         Arabs nations want peace but Israel does not.
·         Israel expelled all Palestinian refugees.
·         Israel put the Palestinians in refugee camps in Arab lands, not Arab governments.
·         Palestinian terrorism is nonexistent or minimal.
·         Israel is not a victim of terrorism or terrorism against Israel is justified.
·         U.S. support of Israel causes terrorism, including 9/11.
·         The intifadas were children’s revolts not involving adults or terrorism.
·         Jews and Judaism are legalistic. Jews are only about the letter of the law and ignore its spirit.

Tobin and Ybarra point out that in many books the Jewish G-d is depicted as “stern and warlike. G-d’s compassionate qualities, highlighted in lessons about other religions, are missing when Judaism is discussed." They cite numerous cases of a bias against the very foundations of Judaism, while those of Islam and Christianity are treated as fact.

Minnesota Public School Officials Refuse School Prayer

Miley says everyone at that meeting, including parents, agreed that stepping out during class to pray would be disruptive. He says he doesn't understand why it's an issue this year.

Because the Muslim community is getting stronger. Watch this video and understand

More on Somalia Muslims forcing Islam down the throats of Americas, KUDOS to the Minnesota school officials that refused to submit. Allah snackbar!

MUSLIM PARENTS, WILLMAR SCHOOLS REACH AGREEMENT ON PRAYER TIME -
Ambar Espinoza, Minnesota Public Radio, 9/16/08

A few Somali parents in Willmar complained that the public schools weren't allowing their Muslim children to step out of class for daily prayer. Some didn't send their children to school last week in protest.

Today, school officials said they won't change their policy, which allows students to pray during lunch time and between classes. For now, families have reluctantly agreed to send their children to school, but the issue may resurface later in the school year.

This is the first school year Somali parents have had an issue with Willmar public schools over when their children can pray. A few children informed their parents that they weren't allowed to step out of class to pray.

The daily prayer schedule is calculated based on the number of daylight hours. Chris Schumacher is the Executive Director of the local chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR. The civil rights organization serves the Muslim community on issues dealing with religious discrimination.

Schumacher says in Minnesota prayer schedules can vary widely, because the daylight hours during winter are so few compared to summer. (MORE)

Saudi funded Hate School Director Pleads Guilty to Covering Child Sexual Abuse

He plead guilty? According to the Koran, he's innocent. Al-Shabnan's arrest came after police alleged he covered up an incident in which a 5-year-old girl attending the school reported that she was being sexually abused by her father. According to court papers, Al-Shabnan, 52, of McLean, told police that he didn't believe the girl, and advised the girl's parents to put her into counseling. But state law requires school authorities to report alleged child abuse within 72 hours of learning of the allegation.

This director of this school curriculum included 12th-grade text on Quranic interpretation that taught  students that it is permissible for Muslims to kill adulterers and converts from Islam, according to the investigation by the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, a panel created by Congress that monitors religious freedom rights around the world.

Aformer school valedictorian, Ahmed Omar Abu Ali  was convicted of joining al-Qaida after leaving the school and plotting to assassinate President Bush.

Saudi-funded US charter school director admits not reporting sexual child abuse
J Post hat tip Van

The director of a Saudi-funded Islamic school in northern Virginia accused of promoting religious hatred has pleaded guilty to failing to report suspected child abuse.

Abdalla Al-Shabnan, director of the Islamic Saudi Academy, was fined $500 after pleading guilty to a single misdemeanor count alleging that he failed to inform authorities about suspected sexual abuse of a 5-year-old girl who attended the school.

Prosecutors dropped an obstruction of justice charge.

A federal commission reported last month that the school's textbooks promote intolerance and teach that it is permissible for Muslims to kill adulterers and those who convert from Islam.

TREASONOUS DEMOCRAT CONNOLLY TOOK CAIR'S RADICAL ISLAM $$$

Gerry Connolly, Democrat rep for the Jihad is on the take for CAIR's. Remember the low life I told you about here, Gerry Connolly, who offered strong defense of the Islamic school that teaches jihad, Islamic Jew hatred and aids and abets child sexual molestation. Gerry Connolly, who is the Democratic nominee for Congress in Virginia's 11th District -- offered a strong defense of the school and accused the school's critics of slander during the meeting in which the lease was approved. Connelly is runningfor Congress. In that post I wrote,

Who would vote for this jihad lover, whatever your party affiliation? Accusing great Americans of slander, it is he who is slanderous. I would love to read his list of donors, I betcha it is chuck full of Saudi blood money.

And lest we not forget, the: Saudis Gave 50 Million to CAIR. If there is an Atlas reader who has the time to comb his list of contributions, do it!

The Traditional Values Coaltion has discovered dirty contribution from the Radical Islamic lobby (only in America). YOUR PUBLIC SERVANTS AT WORK!

TVC TELLS CONNOLLY: RETURN CONTRIBUTION FROM RADICAL ISLAMIC LOBBY

Connolly Contributor Uses Aliases and Has Links to Hamas

Washington, DC – The Traditional Values Coalition (TVC) has called on Fairfax County Supervisor Gerald Connolly to return a contribution his Congressional campaign received from a radical Islamic official and reopen the supervisors’ lease renewal of the Islamic Saudi Academy.

A Federal Election Commission report lists “Nehad Hammad” as the Executive Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and reports that he donated $500 to the Congressional primary campaign of Gerald Connolly, chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.

Law enforcement officials note that Hammad is an alias used by Nihad Awad who is the founder of CAIR and is listed on the group’s website as its Executive Director. Before founding CAIR,   Awad served as spokesman for the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP) which the Federal Bureau of Investigation officials have identified as a front-group for the violent terrorist organization Hamas.

According to several sources, Awad uses the name Nehad Hammad on some official forms such as IRS documents instead of the name Nihad Awad he uses publicly as a top official at CAIR.  One former federal official refers to CAIR as “Terrorists R Us” and points to a long list of CAIR staff who have been convicted of financing terrorist activities.

“Mr. Connolly should return the check he received from Awad, Hammad or whatever his name is today,” said James Lafferty, a spokesman for the Traditional Values Coalition.

At a May hearing of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Chairman Connolly attempted to bully and shout down witnesses from TVC who quoted parts of ISA textbooks.   He repeatedly accused the TVC witnesses of bigotry and yelled “slander” several times.

“The cause of Mr. Connolly’s anger and vehemence in defending the Islamic Saudi Academy is now apparent.  Are there other leaders of radical Islam involved in or financing Mr. Connolly’s campaign?

“Mr. Connolly has set a new low for what value-neutral politicians will do to raise money or pander to the most radical voting blocs.   He needs to come clean and scrub his campaign of all terrorist influence and sympathizers.

“He also needs to right the wrongs he has done and bring the same passion to reversing the decision of the Board of Supervisors to lease a former county school to the Saudi government. He tried to pawn it off on the State Department which does not have jurisdiction in a desperate effort to save face.   It is an affront to every Fairfax County taxpayer to provide classrooms to those determined to indoctrinate young people to become the next generation of terrorists.”

ATLAS RADIO: FLT 93 ISLAMIC MEMORIAL & SAUDI HATE SCHOOL

"I am against this memorial. This is not your memorial. This doesn't belong to you. It belongs to the American people". Tom Burnett

Listen to Atlas On the Air on internet talk radio

Crescent of Betrayl - get involved! ATLAS ON THE AIR: Today's show at noon will be kicking the ass of the quiet jihad in America. For Atlas readers that want to make a difference and fight the creeping sharia in America tune in. The first half  of the show will discuss the Flight 93 Memorial that is an homage to Islam.  I will have Tom Burnett Sr. , father of  the great American hero Tom Burnett who led the charge to wrest controlMemorial_flight_93_2 away from the Muslims that hijacked Flight 93 and attempted to fly it into the White House or Capital Building (check out  Tom Burnett Family Foundation) and the great public advocate Alec Rawls, of Error Theory.

Outrage over this clear Islamic symbolism forced the Memorial Project to agree to make changes, but all they did was slightly disguise the giant crescent. It is still described as a “broken circle,” and the unbroken part of the circle (the crescent) remains exactly as it was.

Call-in Number: (347) 996-3944

Today we will discuss this Islamic Crescent memorial.

Rawls's  training is as an economist. He was writing a book on republicanism (the system of liberty under law)  when he was discovered that the Flight 93 memorial was going to be a terrorist memorial mosque. World Ahead agreed to first publish my book about this rehijacking of  Flight 93 (Crescent of Betrayal, temporarily available for free download at CrescentOfBetrayal.com).

His  position is simple: The planned Flight 93 Memorial is a terrorist memorialUptowerdrkhighlights40midcontr1 mosque. Not only does the giant crescent point to Mecca, but architect Paul Murdoch proves that this orientation is intentional by repeating it in the crescents of trees that surround the Tower of Voices part of the memorial. (Repeated Mecca-orientations demonstrated in this animation). We hosted an open design competition in time of war and literally invited the whole world to enter. Of course we should have expected that the enemy would enter, and try to win a memorial to their heroes instead of ours. Much harder to understand is the willful blindness of those who are charged with the memorialization of Flight 93, which is supposed to be the symbol of our woken vigilance.

Every place where the terrorists are memorialized in the crescent design, they are placed in the symbolic Islamic heavens (the crescent and star parts of the design). Every place where the 40 heroes are memorialized, they are depicted as symbolically damned, cast out of the symbolic Islamic heavens. One example is in the Tower of Voices, where an Islamic shaped crescent soars in the sky above forty symbolic souls that literally dangle below:

Forty symbolic souls, never to rest in peace, gonging for eternity in their symbolic damnation, strung like fish as they hang down from the symbolic Islamic heavens projected in the sky above. Is the Memorial Project trying to start a riot? (Click pic for larger image.)

SAUDI ISLAMIC ACADEMY: The second half of the show I will host  John Cosgrove, Virginia Chapter Director United American Committee. who has led the charge against the jihad teaching Saudi Hate school and this week's stunning victory by concerned Americans.

The UAC regrets that it took the arrest of the ISA Director General, another government report, and a protest to convince the BoS to finally take action and heed the warnings of the USCIRF reports that BoS Chairman Gerry Connolly called TVC member Jim Lafferty slanderous for citing.

This is the Islamic academy in North Virgina that was teaching jihad, Jew hatred, and Islamic supremacy. Cited numerous times, the school promised to revise their textbooks - and they attempted to, with white out.

Small Victory IN SAUDI JIHAD HATE SCHOOL

UPDATE:Robert spencer has this BREAKING NEWS:

Virginia Islamic Academy had its corporate charter revoked and never filled out IRS forms Surprise, surprise. But will their Saudi connection bail them out? I would guess that it probably will. "Virginia’s Islamic Academy on Shaky Legal Ground," by Patrick Poole for Pajamas Media, June 27:

An investigation by Pajamas Media has found that more trouble may be on the horizon for the Islamic Saudi Academy and the Saudi Embassy.
PJM first reported on the academy, a school sponsored by the Saudi Embassy, two weeks ago when law enforcement authorities raided it, looking for evidence that the school’s director, Abdullah Al-Shabnan, had covered up sex abuse allegations by a 5-year old student. The raid occurred just three days after the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors had renewed the school’s lease despite evidence that the school continued to use textbooks promoting violence and religious hatred.

Since then Abdullah Al-Shabnan has been charged with failing to report the child abuse allegations and obstruction of justice. A protest was held last week in front of the academy and it received considerable local media coverage, including from the Washington Post. That coverage no doubt played a role earlier this week when in a stunning about-face the Fairfax Board of Supervisors sent a letter to the State Department asking them to determine whether the lease should be renewed or not in light of the report earlier this month by the US Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) that reviewed the academy’s textbooks and found that incendiary and hateful passages had not been removed.

The school has issued a press release claiming that the passages have been “mistranslated and misinterpreted,” and saying that the “textbooks are no longer at use at the Academy.” That contradicts statements made last week by school officials to the media that textbooks will be rewritten and reissued before the beginning of school. Why would the textbooks need to be rewritten if those under scrutiny are no longer in use?

The textbooks are not the only elements of the school that don’t hold up under scrutiny.

Virtually all of the establishment media press reports have wrongly claimed that the school operates independently of the embassy as a private entity. Even Tom Casey, the State Department’s deputy spokesman, made this error during his June 24 daily press briefing:

QUESTION: I understand that you’ve received a letter from the — from Fairfax County asking you whether you could give an opinion on the lease of the Saudi school in Alexandria and whether the county should extend that lease, which I am told it’s worth $2.2 million a year. But — just, I mean, do you expect to pronounce yourselves on that? Is that something that you –

MR. CASEY: Well, I think it’s something we’ve just gotten. We’ll certainly take a look at it and see what kind of response would be appropriate, but I — you know, it’s not something we’ve had a chance to really look through. As you know, this is a school that is incorporated and overseen through the county there. It’s not an institution that we have any sort of formal role in accrediting or managing. But certainly, we’ll take a look at the letter and if there’s some thoughts or advice that we can offer, we’ll certainly do it.

And State Department spokesman Nichole Thompson has also said:

This is a private school. It is not a part of the Saudi embassy. It is not part of a diplomatic mission.

These claims by State Department officials make clear their position that the Islamic Saudi Academy has maintained a separate corporate identity from the Saudi Embassy. But a review of the corporate records on file with the Virginia State Corporation Commission finds that the Islamic Saudi Academy’s corporate charter was terminated by the state on December 27, 2004. There is no indication from state records that the incorporation has been revived or renewed, and the last corporate report the school has filed with the state of Virginia that we could find was 2004 — the same year its corporate charter was terminated. A check of corporations in neighboring District of Columbia and Maryland found nothing for the academy.

Shocked? Don't be. Why should they have to obey kaffir laws?

Texas School: 'There is one god, Allah'

Loud groan.

Texas School: 'There is one god, Allah'  By Sharon Hughes

Bob Unruh writing for WorldNetDaily reports that students at Friendswood Jr. High school in the Houston area of Texas have received education during class time from CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations.
Texasschool
Local pastors have gotten involved. Pastor Dave Welch, of the Houston Area Pastor Council, confirmed that the 'indoctrination' did indeed take.
"The failure of the principal of Friendswood Junior High to respect simple procedures requiring parental notification for such a potentially controversial subject, to not only approve but participate personally in a religious indoctrination session led by representatives of a group with well-known links to terrorist organizations, and her cavalier response when confronted, raises serious questions about her fitness to serve in that role."

According to one parent the indoctrination took place during time used for P.E. classes. "I am simply trying to get the word out to those whose kids may not have told them about an Islamic presentation that all kids were required to attend."

Al Jazeera Propaganda, Omission, Lies on Virginia Saudi Hate School

So now the Arab world is weighing in on America protecting its citizens and schools from Islamic jihad? Al Jazeera did a hit piece on the US commission and pimped for the jihad teaching Saudi hate school despite the Islamic school's guilt in teaching violent jihad and protecting the Islamic right to molest children.  Al Jazeera is crying "persecution"!Islamic_academy

Al Jazeera made no mention of the vile hate taught in the textbooks, the arrest of the director or the child molestation or that the valedictorian of the school was involved in a jihadi assassination plot against President Bush.. No mention was made of the fact that the Virginia school is teaching  anti-Semitism and Islamic supremicism or that the school promised to revise those textbooks (which they attempted to do with ...ahem.....white out).

Everyone talks about how the West is losing the battle of ideas, but this is not a battle of ideas. These are the most disgusting lies to cover up fascist Islamic supremicism and hatred. Churchill nailed it when he remarked, ""A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on."

Al-Jazeera TV Reports on Fairfax, Virginia, Islamic Saudi Academy Controversy, Says U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom Persecuting U.S. Muslims MEMRI Here

Following are excerpts from a report on the Islamic Saudi Academy in Virginia, which aired on Al-Jazeera TV on June 17, 2008:

Reporter: We are at the Islamic Saudi Academy in the state of Virginia – the largest institution teaching the Arabic language and Islamic education on the East Coast of the U.S. However, this institution faces mounting pressure, and this is a nightmare for the families of the students enrolled in the academy. This pressure is exerted by several Congressmen, known for their great hostility towards Arabs and Muslims.

This child recites verses from the Koran with perfect diction, even though he is only six years old. These flowers, which have just begun to bloom, have sprouted on American soil. Their parents decided to help them find their roots in a supervised environment. This goal has been achieved at the Islamic Saudi Academy. However, the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, which was established by Congress, has recommended that the academy be shut down, alleging that its religious curricula, which are taught in Saudi Arabia as well, included material inciting to racism and intolerance towards other religions. [The commission] did not even talk to those in charge of the academy, let alone visit it.

Abd Al-Rahman Al-Ghufayli, Principal of the Boy's School: We have nothing to hide. That's why we invited them there and tried to discuss things with them, but I'm sad to say, they did not accept our invitation. This suggests that the commission has a certain agenda, which it is trying to implement.

Reporter: The local authority of Fairfax County, where the academy is located, has challenged the threats of closure. It determined that the allegations are invalid, and it approved the religious curricula after examining them. The non-Muslim teachers also expressed disgust and frustration at the allegations.

Kate Schneider, English teacher: The thing that frustrates me so much about these accusations is that first, they are not true, and second, it is so completely opposite from the truth. This school teaches faith, and the same basic values we want all our children to have.

Reporter: The academy's students participate in community activities, which differ from other American schools. The U.S. President even sent letters of appreciation to the students.

Fardia Turkestani, Principal of the Girls’ School: We are very proud that a student of ours won this award three years in a row.

Reporter: "I will become the slave of he who teaches me a single letter." So what should be said about those who teach an entire language? What should be said about a commission that some say is unconstitutional and contradicts the very meaning of its name? This commission calls upon all countries of the world to respect freedom of religion there, while the commission itself violates this freedom on its own land.

After a groundswell of opposition from parents, community leaders and concerned citizens, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, responding to public outcry, unanimously reversed its support of the Islamic Saudi Academy, and called for the U.S. State Department to investigate the school. John Cosgrove, one of the leaders of the movement, will be on my radio show Atlas on the Air Friday at noon to discuss the latest developments.

On June 23, 2008, the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, responding to public outcry, unanimously reversed its support of the Islamic Saudi Academy, and called for the U.S. State Department to investigate the school. Though the UAC applauds the BoS’s decision to demand such an investigation, the UAC disagrees with the BoS’s claims of ignorance regarding the ISA.  Given the preponderance of available government reports, and the testimony presented to the BoS during a May 19, 2008 hearing on the ISA, the BoS only remained unaware of relevant information due to its own preference.  The UAC questions how the BoS on May 19th, proclaimed their investigation of the ISA sufficiently resourced and conclusive, yet now claims the County lacks the capability to conduct an adequate investigation.

The UAC regrets that it took the arrest of the ISA Director General, another government report, and a protest to convince the BoS to finally take action and heed the warnings of the USCIRF reports that BoS Chairman Gerry Connolly called TVC member Jim Lafferty slanderous for citing.

The UAC also disagrees with the BoS assertions of impotency, as, on May 19th, it fully had within its power to delay the approval of the ISA lease until completion of a US State Department investigation.  Instead it issued the ISA, and its now arrested Director General, an apology. The BoS has now called upon the US State Department to conduct the same investigation UAC and coalition partners requested on May 19th.

The UAC believes the BoS can do even more, and believes the ISA has abused the goodwill of its hosts.  The BoS must stop passing the buck and finally hold the ISA accountable for its repeated lies and running a curriculum of religiously sanctified murder for almost 20 years.  Accordingly, the UAC calls for the closure of the ISA and competitive bidding for use of the County property it leases.

US SCHOOLBOOKS: Scrubbing Jihad to Exclude Violence

An Atlas reader who as a yoga educator has spent the past 22 years in the Far East (Taiwan and Hong Kong) and has  just relocated back to the USA. She wrote me upon her return, "What has happened to our country?"

The altering of facts is dangerous. Inaccuracy in textbooks is dangerous. In the Islamic view, Islam came into the world to replace Judaism and Christianity not live side by side. The jihad is that war. There is not one hadith in the Koran that speaks to a "spiritual" jihad. That's a western myth - taqiya propagated by Islamists. Jihad is violent.

American School Books Redefine 'Jihad' to Exclude Violence Stop the ACLU

In yet another example of why the west could be too weak to fight the sort of global terrorism that takes the form of Islamofascism, a textbook monitoring group is charging that American textbooks have been cleansed of mentioning the violence inherent in the Islamic "Jihad." Now, our children will not be taught what "Jihad" truly means, nor that it has been used as an excuse to kill their fellow citizens because our schools have sanitized Islam of all outrage and violence. Will the media follow this story and report that our children are being exposed to Islamic propaganda like this?

According to the New York Examiner, the American Textbook Council reports that textbooks approved for middle and high schools students have caved in to a politically correct cleansing of Islam and dumbed down history critical to a fuller understanding of Muslim history — one that reflects on our own times.

"Textbook editors try to avoid any subject that could turn into a political grenade," wrote Gilbert Sewall, director of the council, who railed against five popular history texts for "adjust[ing] the definition of jihad or sharia or remov[ing] these words from lessons to avoid inconvenient truths."

According to Sewall, several new textbooks, such as Houghton Mifflin's "Across the Centuries," have gone through an "amazing cultural reorchestration" to erase the history of violence associated with the word "jihad."

Sewall fears that a political process has replaced an academic process where it concerns the production and approval of our textbooks.

Read it all.

US GOVT AIDS ABETS CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE COVER UP IN ISLAMIC JIHAD ACADEMY

*******UPDATE: Andrea Lafferty, executive director of the Traditional Values Coalition, who led the protest today against the jihad Islamic academy will be on my radio show tomorrow at 12 noon after CIA Director James Woolsey.********

An evil  Democrat tool, Gerry Connolly, offered strong defense of the Islamic school that teaches jihad, Jew hate and aids and abets child sexual molestation. Gerry Connolly, who is the Democratic nominee for Congress in Virginia's 11th District -- offered a strong defense of the school and accused the school's critics of slander during the meeting in which the lease was approved. Note the headline "child abuse" -- it's sexual molestation ---the MSM are such dangerous clowns.

Islamic School Director Arrested NBC News hat tip Patrick Poole

Al-Shabnan Charged With Failure To Report Child Abuse

The director of a Saudi government-funded Islamic school has been arrested and charged with failing to report a child abuse allegation, adding to scrutiny of the northern Virginia academy as protesters came out Tuesday to call for a federal investigation of its teachings.

Abdalla I. Al-Shabnan, director of the Islamic Saudi Academy, was also charged with obstruction of justice, according to a police report about the June 9 arrest.

The misdemeanor counts come at a time when the private school is under heavy criticism from a federal commission and others over textbooks that allegedly teach violence and hate. More than a dozen protesters lined up outside the school Tuesday, waving signs that read "Saudi hate is not an American family value" and "Islamic Shariah teaches violence and hate."

Go Great Americans go!

The protesters, including the conservative Traditional Values Coalition, want the Justice and State departments to investigate the school. The State Department last year obtained copies of the school's textbooks but has so far refused to make them public.

Andrea Lafferty, executive director of the Traditional Values Coalition, said the arrest of al-Shabnan is just further evidence of problems at the school. "The academy is a virtual one-stop shopping center for law enforcement," she said, citing the case of a former school valedictorian, Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, who was convicted of joining al-Qaida after leaving the school and plotting to assassinate President Bush.

Al-Shabnan is free pending trial. Police said in court papers that Al-Shabnan ordered a written report about the girl's complaint, which had been prepared by other school officials, to be deleted from a school computer.

Al-Shabnan has not returned repeated phone calls and e-mails from The Associated Press seeking comment over the last week. Last week, a federal commission issued a report detailing numerous troubling passages from school textbooks. A 12th-grade text on Quranic interpretation teaches students that it is permissible for Muslims to kill adulterers and converts from Islam, according to the investigation by the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom, a panel created by Congress that monitors religious freedom rights around the world.

12th grade? They are teaching this sedition and treason and murder to 17 year olds and the State department is protecting them. Who the hell is the State department working for?

Other passages in the school's textbooks state that "the Jews conspired against Islam and its people" and that Muslims are permitted to take the lives and property of those deemed "polytheists." The school issued a statement saying the textbooks had been mistranslated and misinterpreted and that some of the textbooks studied by the commission are no longer in use. But the statement offered no detailed explanation of the specific passages cited by the commission, and school officials have not returned calls seeking comment.

Generally, the school has said in the past that some of the textbooks it uses come from Saudi Arabia and contain harsh language inappropriate for use in the United States. The school has said it revises the textbooks as needed. Indeed, the commission found evidence that individual passages were removed from individual textbooks, sometimes covered up with correction fluid.

But John Cosgrove of Springfield, Va., one of the protesters outside the school, said the revisions are even more troubling given the passages cited in the commission's report that were not deleted. "It stands to reason that the material they left in is material they think is acceptable," Cosgrove said. The commission and other critics of the school say the State Department ought to take a more assertive role in regulating the school because it functions as an arm of the Saudi embassy.

Also, the school's lease with Fairfax County specifically gives the State Department the right to intervene if it has concerns about the academy. Protesters also criticized the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors for voting unanimously last month to extend the school's lease. The lease was extended after county officials conducted their own review of the textbooks and said they didn't find any serious problems.  The board's chairman -- Gerry Connolly, who is the Democratic nominee for Congress in Virginia's 11th District -- offered a strong defense of the school and accused the school's critics of slander during the meeting in which the lease was approved.

MURDER TEACHING ISLAMIC SCHOOL DIRECTOR ARRESTED - CHILD MOLESTATION

This just gets uglier and uglier. There is no respect for the laws of this land. This school has been cited for teaching jihad with perverted, vile text (more here). Now this:

Director Of The Islamic Saudi Academy Arrested

The Islamic Saudi Academy is a school in Northern Virginia and is operated by the Royal Embassy of Saudi Arabia.

From this source (hat-tip to Radio Free Dar al Harb):

Islamic Saudi Academy Director Arrested for Obstruction of Justice

Fairfax, VA

On June 9th, Fairfax County Police arrested the Director General of the Islamic Saudi Academy (ISA), Mr. Abdalla I. Al-Shabnan, on the charges of Obstruction of Justice without Force (VA Code 18.2-460). Charged and released on the same day, Mr. Al-Shabnan is out on his own recognizance as he awaits his first hearing at Fairfax County General District Court on August 1, 2008, at 9:30 a.m.

Mr. Al-Shaban’s arrest stems from an investigation into the ISA’s alleged failure to comply with State requirements for reporting child abuse. According to authorities, instead of reporting the child abuse, Mr. Al-Shabnan deleted the report, contacted the student’s parents, and recommended psychological counseling for the young victim. Mr. Al-Shaban’s June 9 arrest comes after a May 23rd police search of the ISA where they gathered evidence that has contributed to the charges against Mr. Al-Shabnan.

Years of Controversy Continue

The ISA has been at the center of controversy for many years. A 2007 United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF) report promoted members of Congress to call for the closure of the school. The 2007 USCIRF report prompted a coalition of concerned grassroots organizations to request the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors to delay the renewal of the ISA lease until a Federal investigation into the ISA was completed. During the hearing, County Supervisors dismissed concerns as slanderous, bigoted, and unfounded. During the course of the hearing, Fairfax County Chairman, and Democratic Candidate for the 11th Congressional District, apologized to Mr. Al-Shabnan for what he deemed slanderous accusations that impugned the integrity of the Islamic Saudi Academy.

Since that May 19 hearing, the Mr. Al-Shabnan has been arrested and the USCIRF has confirmed ISA textbooks justify murder as an Islamic right.

US JIHAD SCHOOL OK AFTER PROMISE TO REVISE TEXTBOOKS

A Virginia school is teaching  anti-Semitism and Islamic supremicism. Because, of course, these are the fundamentals of Islam. Caught in the act, with their hajibs down as it were, what are the consequences. Little.

These same folks that attacked this country, took out the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and attempted to blow up the Capital building and/or White House are teaching their violent bile to their young, here in America and the State Department says cut and paste? They defer to the Saudis? These are acts of war, this school should have been shut down at once.

And this is just what we know about. Which, considering the secrecy of this death cult, is very little. And still we permit such egregious violations?

The valedictorian of the school was involved in a jihadi assassination plot against President Bush. Is it any surprise?

State lets Islamic school operate Washington Times hat tip jon

Officials say Saudi institute will revise violent textbooks

State Department officials said Thursday they have no plans to close a Saudi-financed Islamic school in Northern Virginia that has failed to eliminate violent and intolerant language in textbooks.

"They told us they would revise the textbooks by the 2008 school year," State Department spokesman Rob McInturff said. "We don't plan to take additional action apart from the discussions that have been going on with the Saudi government."

Results released Wednesday from a federal investigation into the Islamic Saudi Academy - with campuses in Alexandria and Fairfax - found textbooks at the 900-student private school had passages that blame the Jews for "discord" and say it is sometimes permissible to kill non-Muslims.

The investigation by the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom focused on 17 textbooks used during the last school year and obtained from independent sources.

The panel, formed by Congress, last year recommended the State Department close the school, though members had not yet reviewed the textbooks. The commission said the Foreign Missions Act gives the Secretary of State authority to "require a foreign mission to divest itself of or forgo the use of property and to order it to close."

State Department spokesman Gonzalo Gallegos on Thursday cited the Saudi government's 2006 acknowledgement of a need to revise its textbooks and agreement to do so "in time for the start of the 2008 school year," which starts this fall.

Who is running things here in the US? The US or the Saudis?

The passages found in the review, according to the panel, include:

-- A passage in a 12th-grade Koranic interpretation textbook that states it is permissible for a Muslim to kill those who have left the faith, an adulterer or someone who has murdered a Muslim intentionally: "He (praised is He) prohibits killing the soul that God has forbidden (to kill) unless for just cause ...."

The commission said the text defines "just cause" as "unbelief after belief, adultery and killing an inviolable believer intentionally."

UPDATE: Indigo Red has the whole report here.

UPDATE: Always onWatch is local to this "school" and has extensive coverage here. Go!

When concerned Americans testified before the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, these Americans were termed "slanderous bigots" by the Board Chairman Gerry Connolly. Connolly is now the Democratic Party's nominee for the 11th District for the U.S. House of Representatives!

On my last radio show, I cut loose with info on the ISA -- info which may not be anywhere else. See this and listen.

People need to understand what's going on here in the D.C. area.

On Tuesday, June 17, there will be a demonstration against the ISA. See the first comment at this posting.

We have until June 30th to get that ISA lease overturned.

US REP TAKES ON JEW HATING MUSLIM STUDENTS AT UIC

Anything and everything, but no cartoons (propeller beanie be upon him)
YOUR TAXPAYER DOLLARS AT WORK ON GENOCIDE.

Uci

A Call to Duty at UCI Counterterrorism Blog hat tip rise

In a strongly worded letter, U.S. Rep. Brad Sherman (D-CA) called on the Chancellor of the University of California, Irvine (UCI), to condemn rampant anti-Semitism at events organized and sponsored by its Muslim Student Union (MSU). The letter pointed out that such an event held just weeks ago, appeared “intended to encourage violence against the State of Israel and propagate the spread of anti-Semitism.”
In his letter, Rep. Sherman explained that, “Comparing current Israeli policies to the Holocaust, the systematic murder of the Jewish people of Europe, is clearly anti-Semitic. It wholly demeans the Jewish victims of the Holocaust and vilifies the Jewish citizens of Israel.”

[...]

As an example, witness Abdel Malik Ali, from an MSU event in May 2006, ranting crazily about NewsCorp Chairman Rupert Murdoch being a "Zionist Jew" (Murdoch is not Jewish), and then, in detailing an alleged encounter with a Jewish woman planning on joining the Israeli Defense Forces, Ali stated:

"You've already lost. Because the people who you are fighting are coming to die, meanwhile you are coming to live. And once you deal with a people who are ready to die, who say either victory or martyrdom, you can't fight against that."

In the same video, Malik Ali accuses the Israelis of having "done" 9/11.

At the most recent MSU event that prompted Sherman's letter, Malik Ali (at 5:38), called for more war:

"When people saw the Muslims go against the Zionists whether it was on the battlefield, whether it was in the courts, or anywhere else, they always saw that the Muslims would prevail, and the Muslims were not frightened."

In the same speech, Malik Ali calls for open support for Hamas and Hizballah, which he states are not terrorist groups.

For Mohammed Al-Asi's part, at a 2002 MSU event at UCI, he called for war and violence against Israel:

"If the only thing the Israelis and their mentors, and their sponsors and their superiors in Washington DC are going to understand is the use of force, than that's the language we're going to communicate with, we're going to use force. And whatever was taken by force can only be retrieved by force."

And in 2001, again at UCI, Al-Asi described how Jews control the U.S. government:

"We have a psychosis in the Jewish community that is unable to co-exist equally and brotherly with other human beings. You can take a Jew out of the ghetto, but you can't take the ghetto out of the Jew. And, this has been demonstrated time and time again in Occupied Palestine. And, now they have American diplomats and politicians and decision makers and strategists in their pocket because they have the money."

At this year's event, Al-Asi was asked whether he supported Palestinian suicide bombings. He responded, naturally, in the affirmative:

"You phrase the question and then you want the answer to be phrased according to the way you want it. That's not the way things go. Give a person the right to respond in his own way. I am telling you. These people who are strapped with explosives, they are seeking military targets. These military targets are located in civilian areas. Therefore, they're collateral damage. Can we understand this simple fact?"

Like Malik Ali, Al-Asi said he believes Israelis were responsible for the 9/11 terror attacks.

After the OCR report was released, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) issued a press release defending the remarks like those made by Al-Asi and Malik Ali as "legitimate criticism of Israel" and "critical thinking." According to the self proclaimed prominent Islamic civil rights group, calling for Israel's destruction, defending suicide bombings and stating that the Israelis were behind 9/11 is "legitimate criticism of Israel."

But it's not just guest speakers spewing venom at UCI. The June 2004 issue of the MSU's publication, Alkalima, contained an opinion piece praising Hamas, Islamic Jihad, and Hizballah, and describing Hamas-founder Sheikh Ahmed Yassin and former Hamas senior leader Abd Al-Aziz Al-Rantisi as martyrs. The article also identifies Muslim Brotherhood luminaries Hassan al Banna and Sayyid Qutb as martyrs. The article states:

[T]he Arab people have realized that the only solution to the Zionist situation is through military force, which is espoused by Hamas, Hizb' Allah, Islamic jihad, and other Islamic resistance organizations.

Disgraceful: Passing Motion 25

When I spoke to Caroline Glick about the impending motion in the UK against Jews in academia she said,

"I think it’s important to understand, that you know, these calls for boycotts of Israeli universities and academics are seasonal propaganda initiatives that try to demonize Israel, you know, every spring or every fall, or whatever. But it’s important to understand that there is an academic boycott of Israeli institutions by British universities; it’s been going on for several years and whether it’s institutionalized in a vote or not the fact of the matter is that, university departments and professors in Britain and publications systematically boycott their Israeli counterparts. And I think, you know, that it’s important to realize that it’s already happening it’s not a “are they going to decide boycott Israel or not?”. They are boycotting Israel; it’s just a question of how often they want to bring it up.
[...]
Because in addition to the fact that they are already boycotting Israeli academics and institutions, they are using it not just quietly and saying “we prefer not to deal with Jews” but they are doing it in a way that gives them constant propaganda initiatives and campaigning items. Because they pretend that they are not doing it but they are because they have embraced this anti-Semitic ideology which they call anti-Zionism and they use it in their everyday lives that’s how prevalent it is in British culture today and that’s why Britain is such a problem".

Well today motion 25 passed ..... from the Normblog hat tip Mara

Passing Motion 25 (by Eve Garrard)

Yesterday I attended the University and College Union's annual congress, where a motion encouraging a boycott of Israel was debated. The union leadership were at great pains to say this wasn't a boycott motion, and it's true that the motion didn't use the word 'boycott': but it called on members to consider the moral and political implications of collaborating with Israeli academics; it asked them to discuss the occupation with those colleagues; it claimed that most Israeli academics are 'complicit' in the conflict; it mentioned that criticism of Israel isn't anti-Semitic 'as such', while ignoring the fact that the proposed measures are not a matter of criticism but of ostracism and punishment; and it raised the question of the appropriateness of continued educational links with Israeli academic institutions. Legal advice on this motion, taken by the Jewish community's Stop the Boycott campaign, has said that it amounts to a call to discuss a boycott of Israeli academics which risks violating the Race Relations Act, and the General Secretary implicitly acknowledged this when she said that the union would implement matters within the law. So it looked to me, and to all the other anti-boycotters I spoke to, exactly like a motion encouraging people to consider a boycott.

Motion 25 was passed, by a huge majority. There was a real, palpable desire in the meeting to take some action against Israel. An otherwise rather somnolent audience woke up at the first mention of Palestine, and applauded every suggestion that action should be taken against Israel. A congress which had just passed very moderate motions on Burma and Zimbabwe and Sudan, about solidarity with trade unions and asylum seekers, and putting pressure on governments, quite clearly felt that these measures weren't sufficient for Israel's crimes: that for Israeli academics, nothing but punishment would do.

At first the discussion was procedurally unexceptionable - both sides of a debate were permitted on an amendment which called, among other things, for the motion to be put to a ballot of the whole membership. This amendment was voted on and rejected - the majority of union delegates didn't want to give the membership of the union the opportunity to choose for themselves on this issue. But when Motion 25 itself was proposed and seconded, several delegates spoke in favour of it - and then it was moved that it be put to the vote. None of the people who wanted to speak directly against the motion were permitted to do so. However, the motion's proposer, Tom Hickey, was at this point allowed by the Chair to speak in favour of it again. No explanation or justification was provided for halting the debate before anyone could speak against the motion, while allowing its proposer to speak twice. I have to say, though, that in my opinion even if the debate had been conducted in an impeccably proper manner, it would have made very little difference: that audience really did want to vote against Israel.

This measure will discriminate against Israeli academics, and will impinge quite disproportionately on Jewish academics here in the UK. Most of them do not support any academic boycott against Israel, nor the de-legitimization of Jewish nationalism and of Israel's existence; and many of them want to work in collaboration with Israeli colleagues. Whether or not the procedures mandated by the motion are actually implemented is a matter on which the union executive will decide, but in some ways the damage is already done - the vote has normalized discrimination, the union leadership has made no effort to address, or to get Congress to address, the relevance and implications of anti-discrimination law in the UK, and if the policy isn't ultimately implemented the membership will be encouraged to think that some inappropriate force has pressured the union to drop it. So whatever now happens, the motion's supporters have achieved one thing: they have exacerbated the sense of isolation and alienation in the union felt by those who, even though they may strongly criticize some of Israel's policies and practices, sympathize with her often terrible problems, see the need for her existence, and wish her well. Their sense that the union is not a friendly environment, that it is ultimately a hostile place for people like them, will have materially increased as a result of today's activities by their union colleagues.

Because motion 25 was passed, I now belong to a union which is trying to discriminate against those of its Jewish members who don't think it's right to single the Jewish state out for punishment over and above far worse polities, or that it's right to hold it, and it alone, wholly responsible for the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. I spent yesterday afternoon sitting in a room with a large group of otherwise unobjectionable people, knowing that the great majority of them want in practice to discriminate against their Jewish colleagues. It wasn't a pleasant experience. (Eve Garrard)

SECRET REPORT ON SAUDI HATE SCHOOL MUST BE RELEASED

Where are the rational, right thinking leaders? WTF? Who the hell is in charge? This is the very definition of infiltration.

Secret Report on Saudi School in Virginia Must Be Released Counterterrorism blog hat tip rut

Yesterday, the Board of Supervisors of Fairfax County, Virginia, near Washington, DC, unanimously voted to continue leasing county property to the Islamic Saudi Academy, which is funded by the Saudi government. The school had been criticized for using textbooks which included virulently anti-Semitic and anti-Christian language and teachings. The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom issued a report last year urging the State Department to shut the school down unless it materially changed the textbooks to remove the hateful language. To quote the Commission, "Moreover, a 2006 report analyzing some Saudi textbooks from the 2005-2006 school year found that 'a ninth grade Saudi textbook on Hadith teaches teenagers in apocalyptic terms that violence towards Jews, Christians and other unbelievers is sanctioned by God.' For example, the textbook reads, 'the hour [of judgment] will not come until the Muslims fight the Jews and kill them.'" ISA's 1999 valedictorian was Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, who was convicted and sentenced to prison for joining Al Qaeda and plotting to assassinate President Bush.

Apparently, the Board of Supervisors is satisfied that the textbooks were changed - "apparently," that is, because it commissioned a report to translate the newest version of the textbooks, but the Board refuses to release the report. That secrecy is unacceptable in this instance, especially considering that the report was paid for by taxpayers' dollars.

Either the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors must release the report, or Congress should subpoena it and release it for them.

Read the whole nasty thing here.

THE BEST OPED PIECE ON KGIA
NYC PUBLIC SCHOOL MARDASSA

Adam Brodsky cuts through all the deception and lies surrounding the public Arabic school, KGIA, and restates the obvious. Adam Brodsky has explained exactly why caution should have prevailed regarding the opening of the Khal Gibran International Academy. He eviscerates the New York Times taqqiya tripe pushing for public funded hotbeds of Islamic inculcation. It's hardly surprising considering The New York Times recently ran a style oriented piece in their Sunday magazine glamorizing clitorectomies (is it our fault that their writers are frigid?).

Please write letters  in support of the points made in The New York Post piece commending them for  their courage and common sense. Bucking the leftist/Islamic alliance is an act of bravery. Foe shizzle.

WHO NEEDS VIGILANCE?

THE NY TIMES & 'INTIFADA HIGH'

Almontaser: Ties to dubious groups.
Almontaser: Ties to dubious groups.

By ADAM BRODSKY

May 2, 2008 -- SOMEONE should tell The New York Times what happened on 9/11 - it ap parently has no clue. If it did, it never would've run that 4,500-word, front-page tearjerker Monday on Brooklyn's Khalil Gibran International Academy and its ex-principal, Debbie Almontaser.

What happened back then (as everyone but, it seems, the Times knows) is that Arab Islamists, disguised as harmless civilians, murdered 3,000 people and leveled the World Trade Center. In so doing, they awoke America to their war, which relies heavily on deception and targets unsuspecting, open-minded, tolerant Westerners. Gullible fools, that is.

Since then, Americans got wise. One response to the sneak attack: vigilance. If you see something, say something. Be careful whom you trust.

The Times sees no need for vigilance, as if 9/11 never happened. But caution underlies resistance to the city's first Arab-themed public school.

No, no one feared the school would train kid bombers. But would kids come away less committed to US values and traditions than their peers? How would the school present 9/11, Islam, Israel, the Mideast - America?

Surely, if Americans had flattened the Riyadh Tower (Saudi Arabia's tallest building), the idea of opening a public school in the Kingdom to promote US-Arab understanding would occur to no one. No wonder jaws dropped over plans for a taxpayer-funded, Arabic-themed school in the city, in response to attacks here by Arab terrorists.

Yes, in theory, such a school can be useful. More Americans need to speak Arabic - not just to bridge cultural gaps, but to spy on the enemy and expose his plots. We need to know how Islamists think and act - not to understand their "grievances," but to help predict and foil their next attack.

When the consequences are great, as when creating a school, officials must act with an over-abundance of prudence. They must have unassailable faith in school leaders.

But why even open a school? Why not offer Arabic as an elective in the regular public school curriculum like Spanish, french, Russian etc?

Once a school opens, it's hard to reverse decisions. Almontaser's lawsuit against Mayor Mike and the city - she cites her First Amendment rights in claiming she was wrongly forced to quit - shows that.

Folks can debate if Almontaser, a Yemeni-American, is a well-meaning Muslim moderate railroaded out of her dream to create "ambassadors of peace and hope" - as she, and the Times, insist.

They can weigh the paper's suggestion that she was fired in large part because of a Post story, which a judge said "misleadingly" reported her comments on the term "intifada."

Nyc_intifada

Or they may decide that anti-Islamist experts like Daniel Pipes, who labeled her an "extremist," had her pegged better. And that the Gibran school really is "the kind of radicalizing effort it was said to be," as Stephen Schwartz put it.

That debate might answer questions like: Why did Almontaser feel compelled to defend teen girls whose group sported t-shirts with the incendiary words "Intifada NYC"? What's with her ties to groups like the Council on American-Islamic Relations, an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land terror-funding case with links to Hamas?

Certainly, there was enough to raise real concerns, in an era of necessarily heightened distrust. And that should have been sufficient to disqualify her, if not to kill the school entirely - however qualified and well-meaning she may be.

As they respond to terror with vigilance, Americans will no doubt sometimes go overboard. But you can be sure mistakes will be fewer here than they'd be anywhere else.

Meanwhile, too much caution is surely better than too little.

The visit was in response to an invitation from the Religious Education Wing at State Department, as part of its International Visit Programme.

An official source at the Ministry of Education told Gulf News that the delegates visited several US states and had meetings with government officials, academics and leaders representing various sections of society.

The source, who declined to disclose his identity, said that the delegation also visited a number of educational institutes, which are renowned for their excellent academic expertise, and among these was the Saudi Islamic Academy of Washington.

Members of the delegation were given a warm reception at the academy by Abdullah Al Shabnan, Director General of the academy.
