I blame Pawlenty. He stood by and did nothing while Franken and thug/goon party changed the rules, pulled ballots out of their ass and stole the election. Al Franken? Is he even normal? Sane?
Norm Coleman won his election fair and square, and he was robbed by the same crooks who gave Burris the fraud his senate seat.
"Franken, who will hold a victory rally Wednesday and will be seated in the Senate next week, will assume coveted committee assignments on the Health, Labor, Education and Pensions Committee and the Judiciary Committee, allowing him to play a role in influencing the debates over health-care reform and the Supreme Court nomination of Sonia Sotomayor when Congress returns from its Fourth of July break" -- from a Yahoo news story. Choi opines, "Here's the ultimate Freshman Senator,100th in Seniority, receiving "Coveted " Committee Assignments in order for him to play an"influencing role" in RUINING Our Nation".
The Minnesota Supreme Court yesterday declared Democrat Al Franken the winner of last year's disputed Senate race, and Republican incumbent Norm Coleman's gracious concession at least spares the state any further legal combat. The unfortunate lesson is that you don't need to win the vote on Election Day as long as your lawyers are creative enough to have enough new or disqualified ballots counted after the fact.
Mr. Franken trailed Mr. Coleman by 725 votes after the initial count on election night, and 215 after the first canvass. The Democrat's strategy from the start was to manipulate the recount in a way that would discover votes that could add to his total. The Franken legal team swarmed the recount, aggressively demanding that votes that had been disqualified be added to his count, while others be denied for Mr. Coleman.
But the team's real goldmine were absentee ballots, thousands of which the
Franken team claimed had been mistakenly rejected. While Mr. Coleman's lawyers
demanded a uniform standard for how counties should re-evaluate these rejected
ballots, the Franken team ginned up an additional 1,350 absentees from
Franken-leaning counties. By the time this treasure hunt ended, Mr. Franken was
312 votes up, and Mr. Coleman was left to file legal briefs.
What Mr.
Franken understood was that courts would later be loathe to overrule decisions
made by the canvassing board, however arbitrary those decisions were. He was
right. The three-judge panel overseeing the Coleman legal challenge, and the
Supreme Court that reviewed the panel's findings, in essence found that Mr.
Coleman hadn't demonstrated a willful or malicious attempt on behalf of
officials to deny him the election. And so they refused to reopen what had
become a forbidding tangle of irregularities. Mr. Coleman didn't lose the
election. He lost the fight to stop the state canvassing board from changing the
vote-counting rules after the fact.
This is now the second time
Republicans have been beaten in this kind of legal street fight. In 2004, Dino
Rossi was ahead in the election-night count for Washington Governor against
Democrat Christine Gregoire. Ms. Gregoire's team demanded the right to rifle
through a list of provisional votes that hadn't been counted, setting off a hunt
for "new" Gregoire votes. By the third recount, she'd discovered enough to win.
This was the model for the Franken team.
Mr. Franken now goes to the
Senate having effectively stolen an election. If the GOP hopes to avoid repeats,
it should learn from Minnesota that modern elections don't end when voters cast
their ballots. They only end after the lawyers count them.
We did it .......... Great Americans came out and defeated the jihad candidate, Esam Omeish. But don't relax yet. There will be a slew of these infiltrators. Each one must be defeated. But today we rejoice. (hat tip Isabella).

This "torture" nonsense is the new meme, the left's face saving attempt to confuse and divert American attention from the real issues facing the country and this car wreck of a president.
This is a fascinating little video. Condi Rice is fielding questions from a Stanford student
at a Frosh dorm. Apparently there's an anti-Condi movement on campus, and some want her to be
criminally prosecuted for Gitmo, waterboarding etc.
Laura queried, "I wonder how these elitists
would feel if a close relative had been one of the many who lost their lives in
Twin Towers. Maybe a different perspective would be in order". Probably right. I think they'd say, "Kill Aunt Millie, just as long as the rapists and beheaders are not deprived of their civil rights."
I am not a big fan of Condi's, as evidenced by the tiny bit in the video where Rice mentions the Palestinian state, but she was light years ahead of muhammadan in the White House.

The pisher student she is talking to is a maroon. But to her credit, Condi answered this tool's questions with gravity and respect. The boy needs some serious schooling.

Listening to Condi again was like a delicious cold splash on the face. When Bush and/or his minions spoke, they actually said something. They knew their stuff. They got shiz done. This admin is more Animal House (halal) than anything else.

Greetings fellow South Florida
riders, South Floridians, and Americans, here we are for another
monthly installment of our Wheels on the Road political assessment.
Just have to tell you, I am freaking mad as hell and implore you all
to not take this anymore. If this means I shall be castigated as a
“right wing extremist” so be it.
Today I received an email containing
a story on the US Department of Homeland Security unclassified
report, dated 7 April, titled, “Right-wing extremism: Current
Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization
and Recruitment”.
Now most of the mainstream media is
reporting about a stupid new dog in the White House, Portuguese water
dog, who cares.
I have just finished reading
Secretary Napolitano’s office declaring that, “the return of
military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into
their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist
groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent
attacks”.
As well, this report cites,
“returning veterans possess combat skills and experience that are
attractive to right-wing extremists, who will attempt to recruit and
radicalize veterans in order to boost their violent capacities”.
Align these statements with Barack
Hussein Obama’s intentions to have wounded war veterans use private
health insurance and you see the contempt this administration holds
for those who protect and defend this Republic. We have an
administration which declares we cannot call radical Islamic
terrorists “enemy combatants”. We can no longer speak of a war on
terror, only overseas contingency operations. However, this
administration issues a report demonizing our heroic vets as
potential terrorists and extremists!
Perhaps those Navy SEAL snipers
should be made aware that they are considered potential terrorists
because of the skills they exhibited to save an American citizen. Oh
by the way, a citizen held hostage by Muslim pirates, can you say
Barbary? Jefferson sent the US Marines, what shall dear fearful
leader Obama do?
Back to the report which contains
countless references singling out returning war veterans as
particular threats.
Not only that, this report
admonishes law enforcement to watch out for individuals with
“radical” ideologies based on Christian views such as opposing
illegal immigration, abortion, and federal taxes. Indeed, this report
decries anyone who is concerned about illegal immigration, increasing
federal power, restrictions on firearms, abortion, and the loss of US
sovereignty. In other words this means anyone holding conservative
principles in opposition to left wing liberal socialist policies is a
threat.
I am happy to be in that category. I
am an American and shall not cower from this insidious accusation,
shall you?
“The high volume of volume of
purchases and stockpiling of weapons and ammunition by right-wing
extremists in anticipation of restrictions and bans in some parts of
the country continue to be a primary concern to law enforcement”,
this means you, law abiding citizens of America. In the 1930s Adolf
Hitler outlawed private gun ownership, and the rest is history.
Shall we live under this type of
overt tyranny and become nothing more than economic slaves and
subjects? I am angry about the attacks on Americans who work hard and
succeed, why not empower us, not create a dependent entitlement
class?
This report uses race baiting by
suggesting that the election of an African-American president “is
proving to be a driving force for right-wing extremist recruitment
and radicalization”. No, his asinine socialist economic policies,
apologetic and appeasing words about our America, and his cowering to
the Islamic world are the cause for our concern.
The fact that in less than 80 days
we have seen countless “Czars” being created, $500 billion in
government spending, North Korea missile launch, pirate attacks
against US shipping, and amateurish actions of our president ranging
from inept cabinet selections to abject incompetence (his inability
to speak more than 3 minutes without a teleprompter) are the reasons
for our angst.
I am also angry at my fellow members
of the Republican Party, supposed leadership, who have not exhibited
the courage and conviction to stand against this administration. It
is appalling to me that the most prevalent voices are those of talk
radio hosts. Who are the leaders in the Republican Party?
To them I simply say, “Lead,
follow, or get the hell out of the way”. If I must stand alone, so
be it, but these crazed liberals shall not suppress our Freedom and
Liberty.
Tomorrow is tax day, and there are
many “Tea Parties” planned across America. I implore all of you
to stand up tomorrow and send a clear message.
Our own government has declared us
the enemy; never in my life did I believe this could happen in my
Country. How did we get to this point?
There is no doubt that we are now
fighting against a fascist regime that seeks to silence our voice.
What shall the history books say of us? What shall we leave to our
children and grandchildren as a legacy of this Republic? Now is the
time to fight back and I encourage all of you to do so, do not be
afraid, our forefathers were not.
America is heading towards a
tumultuous 2009 and there shall indeed be a Constitutional crisis. I
do not care about any “historic moment”. So far this Obama
administration has insulted us overseas, called us a “nation of
cowards” here at home, and now has declared open war against those
who stand in opposition.
We have true enemies who seek to
destroy our Country; drug cartels, illegal immigrants, radical
Islamic ideologues, Muslim terrorists at sea, and rogue Nations such
as North Korea. It seems we can now add our own federal government to
that list.
America, it stops here, join me and
do not run away intimidated by Obama, Holder, Napolitano, Reid,
Pelosi, Frank, Soros, Moveon.org, and ACORN.
There was a special election in New York on Tuesday that was supposed to be a referendum on Obama. New York, a notoriously blue state, had to run a special election to fill
Kirsten Gillibrand’s upstate New York House seat (she was selected to replace Hillary Clinton as NY's Senator). This special election was of enormous import for Obama. It became a national
referendum on his performance. Obama and Vice President
Joe Biden campaigned for Murphy, who based his campaign largely on his
support for Obama’s stimulus plan. I blogged for Tedesco here and here. Obama took this county with a 30% lead, but the election results are a dead heat. And while the Democrats are claiming a "great victory" for dear leader, the fact is that the results are 20 votes apart. But the absentee and military vote has not been counted.
Knowing the military skews pro-American (Republican), the depraved Democrats are trying to pull a Franken and steal another election by once again screwing the military out of their right to vote.
They have no other avenue. Democrats have no illegal voting apparatus here in NY. It is a blue state and Democrat illegal activity is always most active in purple states and districts. They don't have to do an ACORN here. But they will not stop them. The fascists will undermine and usurp the will of the people.
The bottom line? Two months into his failed presidency -- Obama could not pull out a win in a bluer than blue state.
The Democrat Party has a long and sordid history of doing everything it
posiibly can to disenfrachise the vote of our military. The special election in
New York’s Congressional District 20 is no exception. Anyone who votes for a
candidate of this party is, in effect, voting to continue this treatment of our
soldiers who are risking their all for our freedoms.
The race between Jim Tedisco and Scott Murphy is down to less than two dozen
votes. There were over 1,000 absentee ballots sent to our military overseas.
But will they ever get counted? Not if the Democrat Party has its way, and they
started laying the groundwork early.
The problem for military voters in places like Iraq and Afghanistan is that
it takes so long for absentee ballots to make the trip by mail from county
election officials in the United States to bases in combat zones overseas and
back again. As a result, only a tiny percentage of their votes get counted.
Non-profit groups examining the issue of ballot delivery times and federal
agencies like the U.S. Election Assistance Commission all recommend that
absentee ballots be mailed to military voters at least 45 days before they’re
due. The Chief of Operations for the Military Postal Service Agency recommends
at least 60 days. …
In New York, ten counties make up the 20th congressional district, and nine
of them sent their absentee ballots to overseas voters too late for them to be
received and returned in time to count in this election. One county mailed them
on March 12 and eight counties mailed them on March 13, all by regular mail with
only one exception — Essex County used an express mail service.
Under New York law, absentee ballots in this race had to be
postmarked by March 30, the day before the March 31 election, and received by
April 7. That left most military voters only 25 days to receive, mark and return
their absentee ballots, which everyone agrees isn’t enough time, given overseas
mail delays.
The Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice, which is
responsible for enforcing the federal statute that guarantees the right of
overseas citizens and military personnel to vote by absentee ballot, contacted
the New York State Board of Elections and requested that they issue their
ballots sooner for this race. The two Republican members of the board voted to
support this request. Yet the two Democratic members of the board, shamefully
enough, voted against doing so. Were they trying to disenfranchise military
voters?
The Justice Department then filed a federal lawsuit on March 24 against the
election board and the governor of New York. But the requested remedy was
nowhere near what should have been asked for to remedy this problem, and didn’t
include any of the measures that we successfully asked for from other courts
when I was at the Division coordinating DOJ’s enforcement of this statute.
The only thing DOJ leaders essentially asked for (and got in a consent
decree) was an extension of time for the receipt of overseas ballots, from April
7 to April 13. In other words, despite the fact that almost every expert in this
area now recommends at least a 45-day transit time for absentee ballots for
military voters, Justice asked only for 30. …
… In 2004, for example, we sued Georgia because numerous counties hadn’t
mailed their absentee ballots in time to be received and returned by military
voters. Not only did the judge provide an extension of time (like in the New
York case), but we asked for and the judge ordered Georgia to send absentee
ballots to overseas voters by facsimile and email, and to accept the returned,
voted ballots at a secure facsimile machine under the supervision of the
Secretary of State. While this compromised the secrecy of the ballot, it allowed
voters to get their late-received ballots back in time to be counted, which was
better than not having their vote count at all.
Republicans must fight the corrupt one party machine in New York and begin to take back key states. The Northeast has no voices for reason, logic, and American exceptionalism. I am writing in support of the candidacy of GOP candidate Jim Tedisco for the vacant House seat in NY's 20th congressional district (Hudson Valley area). Most of you are not residents of NY State, but this race for the seat vacated by Kirsten Gillibrand (yes, she got Hillary's old Senate seat) is very important to you and everyone who believes in preserving a recognizable America. If Jim Tedisco wins this seat, it will be a major "black eye" for Obama, Pelosi, and Reid.
Jim fought the leftist agenda of NY's corrupt pervert, former Gov. Eliot Spitzer. He led the opposition to Spitzer's bizarre plan to grant driver's licenses to illegal aliens.

Mayor
Michael Bloomberg was in attendance to honor the winners of the Abraham Lincoln
Bicentennial Essay Contest. This non-partisan event, sponsored by the historic
Queens Village Republican Club, the oldest in America, featured an award
ceremony for the winners of the competition involving schools throughout New York City. The winning students were awarded $500 savings bonds, with their entire families and teachers in attendance.
Along with the Mayor,
Assemblywoman Barbara Clark (D-Queens Village), Senator Frank Padavan
(R-Bellerose), Councilman Leroy Comrie (D-Jamaica) and other public officials presented the honors. Glen Oaks Village Owners Corp. and their
president Robert Friedrich, and Dr. Dolores M. Fernandez, president of Hostos
Community College, have provided generous funds for the students.
Republican candidates and elected officials - it's a tough gig, running in a one party state controlled by the Democrat corrupt political machine.

Andrew Bostom sent me this incredible letter that ran here from Allen West on the Wilders prosecution. While President Hussein
is busy giving interviews toAl Arabiya and saying nothing about this crushing blow to
freedom of speech, West articulates the American position brilliantly.
I recently read of the travails of my fellow IFPS board member Geert Wilders. A day later my attention was drawn to President Barack Hussein Obama signing an executive order to shut down operations at the Guantanamo detention facility.
The irony struck me that here we have the new President seeking to extend US Constitutional protections to Islamic terrorists, the enemy. We plan to provide them legal rights under the equal protection clause. Yet in Holland, a fellow democracy, the government is ordering the criminal prosecution of an elected representative for exercising one of the Western world’s most precious freedoms, freedom of speech; and in this case, freedom of speech to discuss the jihadist ideology of the enemy.
What is happening in Western civilization? Have we become so enamored with this illness called multiculturalism that we are embarrassed to honor and defend our own cultural principles? Can nothing be more shocking than to charge a member of the Dutch Parliament with “hate speech” for speaking the truth?
This reminds me of the seminal scene from the movie A Few Good Men. “I want the truth,” one of the character says. And the response was: “You can’t handle the truth.” I am starting to believe that we–actually our elected officials–are not leaders, and cannot handle the truth. The truth is that an enemy does exist and that this enemy lives amongst us, and hates us. The truth is that our insidious policies of open immigration and multiculturalism are now ushering in our demise and promoting the deconstruction of our Western civilizational values, freedom of conscience, and the freedom to express our thoughts.
The truth as I see is that we no longer have men in Western governments who are willing to defend our way of life. I find this prosecution of Geert Wilders to be an example of abject cowardice. How can it be that Islam has become such an intimidating religion that men cower away? And I address “men” because I have found more often that women are taking a stand and condemning this modern-day totalitarian, imperialistic radical ideology mired in antiquated 7th century concepts.
Islam as a religion elevates and follows a man who was nothing more than a psychopath, murderous warlord, and by modern-day standards a sexual deviant and pedophile. Islam as a political entity is based upon complete submission and seeks only to subjugate and suppress every freedom we cherish in western civilization. Until Islam undergoes a reformative process bringing it into alignment with the rest of the world, then I shall reject it, and stand against it. The converse I find reprehensible; to convert, be subjugated, or die, which are the Koranic options given to me, a non-Muslim.
I will gladly peacefully coexist with Islam. Can the same be said in reverse? And do not tell me about the Koranic verse stating, “there is no compulsion in religion,” because I
understand the theory of naskh or abrogation. That means that the later verses of the Koran supercede previous verses. As a result, most violent verses in the Koran abrogate previous “peaceful” writings.
Have I just committed hate speech? No, it is the truth according to the Koran and the Hadiths, and I have no fear in stating such. I will not allow Western civilization nor America to be paralyzed by soft or hard jihad, by legal tactics, nor kinetic attacks. I pledge to fight, not for myself, but for others, for our future and legacy which we leave our children and grandchildren. Any man that cannot find the courage to do so as well, especially leaders in western civilization, I call a coward.
Geert, stand resolute, my comrade. You will win this fight, and we shall defeat this third jihad and incursion to defeat our way of life.
All who read this post never forget a simple maxim which I live by: “When tolerance becomes a one way street, it leads to cultural suicide”.
Count on Lieutenant Colonel Allen B West to stand and fight against this enemy, radical Islamic terrorism and their state sponsors anywhere, anytime.

Here are some observations about the campaign:
* November 4th was the final primary for each political party. Since Mr. Cao was the only Republican, he wasn't yet on the ballot, and therefore, there was no need for his campaign to "get in gear". However, they have been campaigning full-speed the past few weeks. This included the Louisiana and national Republican parties. In other words, they really were trying to win.
* Cold Cash Jefferson's ballot number was 13! Quite appropriate, in my opinion.
* Many of the Cao signs in my neighborhood disappeared in the last couple of days. I'm sure the Jefferson people were simply trying to "keep the neighborhood clean." NOT!
* Jefferson finally got some signs out TODAY - the day of the election!
* Cao had lots of volunteers out on the street today, myself included. I saw almost none for Jefferson.
Got folks, friends, fam in Georgia - drive their voting asses to the polls! The run off is today. CHAMBLISS IS ONE OF US. I support him unequivocally. He understands whats at stake and he is a great friend to Israel. Palin came in from Alaska to campaign for him . Love that girl.

It's hard to write about Al Franken without the feeling I am writing a terrible skit for SNL. But I am and it is not funny. Soros is greasing the corrupt wheels of the Democrat voter fraud racket (much of it his design) and stealing the election of Norm Coleman, a fine and decent man to install a sick minded clown. There is a method to this madness - to inch further towards a filibuster proof marxist takeover of the American government. Stunning.
Right after asking the state canvassing board to refuse certification of his loss to Norm Coleman, Al Franken heads to New York City. He travels eastward to raise moneyfor his effort to fund the coming mandatory recount, featuring none other than George Soros, the moneybags behind a network of nonprofit organizations intended to ensure Democrat dominance of election process.
... the Franken campaign asked the board
not to certify the result until certain rejected absentee ballots are
included in the final count. The board rejected the Franken campaign's
motion to include the rejected absentee ballots or to delay
certification.
What
was the thinking of the Franken campaign in bringing its motion to
prevent certification of the result? The Franken campaign apparently
wants to reduce the risk that any Minnesota newspaper will run a
headline reporting that Senator Coleman won the election.
The
Democrat man-of-the-people Franken is accepting big bucks from the
working stiffs who will turn out to see Soros and second banana Al
Gore. Josh Kraushaar of Poltico reports:
The
first $2,300 individuals donate goes directly to Franken's campaign to
pay for the recount. Individuals can donate an additional $10,000,
which would go to the state Democratic party's recount efforts.
UPDATE: Please Atlas readers, please do what you can. I am imploring you. The consequences of stealing these elections and an Obama presidency aligned with a filibuster proof Pelosi led Congress are unfathomable. WHERE THE HELL THE BIG MONEY ON THE SIDE OF GOOD?
Democrats are pouring over $20 million into these two races, outspending
Republicans by a factor of 2-to-1. These men need our support. Our
quick response is vital. Team Coleman: In addition to
other contributions already made to the Coleman campaign, individuals will be
able to donate $2,300 per person.
This parasite must go. Schumer must be targeted in 2010. How can we make this happen? Email me any and all ideas. I consider it a righteous goal to spare my state, my country, and my fellow Jews (remember how he helped to undermine Israel's great friend John Bolton) from this evil hack. I have a friend who worked in his office years ago in Brooklyn when he would pretend to be religious to con the orthodox in the nabe. The man is scum.

UPDATE: SCHUMER MUST GO. Van reminded me of Schumer's role in the financial meltdown:
Senator Charles Schumer recently triggered a massive bank failure by publicizing a letter claiming IndyMac Bank was on the verge of collapse. That caused a run on the bank by its panic-stricken depositors. (Taxpayers may end up paying up to $8 billion to bail out the bank). He's been criticized for that by many, including the Wall Street Journal.
Schumer, target number 1. I will not stop until he is thrown out on his corrupt, decayed ass.
The campaigns seem to be the only ones here paying attention to the Coleman-Franken recount. The rest have their heads buried in the sand as mystery votes appear in nickels and dimes until they have reached the full dollar of the result being switched to Franken winning.
I can't believe that today there was a story out there about someone in Hennepin County (Minneapolis) who just happened to find she had 30-some ballots in her car that were uncounted. Of course, no explanation for why they might be in her car when we vote and feed them into machines in most precincts that I know of. Or why those might be legitimately counted now after the election. And, conveniently, ALL were Franken votes.
Have a peek at this link about how the vote by county went. When you see the map, keep in mind that the northeast counties, though less populated, are a potential problem with a full percentage point higher in favor of Franken and new votes turning up almost daily. That is the Duluth area, which is a medium sized city, but one of our largest metro areas of the state. Dems have kept a stranglehold on that area for as long as I can remember. Despite other areas of the state shifting more to the middle of the road.
Looks like Nov. 19 is when they will start this hand count. Of course, those counting will only be able to examine ballots, not examine if those ballots should have been in front of them to count in the first place.

The hate America party has taken its mask off. If Josh Mandel (check out the Jewish remark in the video) doesn't take it in a landslide, I'll blame voter fraud. No American would support this suicidal bile.
When Josh Mandel got a call
from the Marines last year asking him to return voluntarily to Iraq, he
had much more to contemplate than when he first enlisted in 2000. He
had just been elected to the Ohio state legislature. Family
considerations were also important to him. He ultimately decided to serve a second tour in Iraq “because I didn’t join the Marine Corps to say no when my country called,” Mr. Mandel explains.
Of all the factors he weighed, Mr. Mandel says political concerns were
not among them. Now he has been forced to deal with the politics of
that decision. The opponent in his tough re-election fight, trial
attorney Bob Belovich, is attacking Mr. Mandel’s service, arguing that
he abandoned voters. Mr. Belovich’s wife, Barbara, acknowledged in an
interview for this column that she has told voters that Mr. Mandel
“went AWOL” (a military term for desertion) by fighting in Iraq.
Even Mr. Mandel’s motives for serving in Iraq are being
questioned. Mrs. Belovich claimed in an interview with this columnist
that Mandel “put his personal ambitions ahead of his constituents.”
Asked why anyone would enter a war zone out of “personal ambition,”
Barbara Belovich replied curtly, “Certainly he wasn’t serving our
needs.”
You won't believe what just happened. Col Bill Russell, the great American Army Officer running against Jack Murtha in western Pennsylvania, just called me. He said he read my email about the 9PM prayer and he wanted to thank me for sharing that idea and also he wanted to pray with me.
Bill is a man of faith and his phone call just touched me so much.

Some strange commie who grew up in the streets of Indonesia looks like he is going grab the shiniest brass ring on the planet. Call me old fashioned, I'd like my president to have grown up on main street - stick ball, mom and apple pie. I mean really. (Rezko, Alinsky, Mansour, Wright, Farrakhan, Gaza money, Frank Marshall, ACORN, et al notwithstanding)
Opponents of moonbattery will already be aware that the immediate
future looks grim. Just as frightening as an adolescent Marxist being
installed in the White House is the idea of an increased Democrat
majority behind the unhinged Nancy Pelosi. If Obama is elected, the
combination is likely to inflict irreparable damage on our country.
Even if the catastrophe of an Obama presidency is averted, an
increasingly Democrat-dominated Congress under Pelosi's radical
leadership, combined with McCain's lamentable history of backstabbing
"bipartisan" RINOism, promises a rough ride for lovers of liberty.
But there is a silver cloud where Congress is concerned: it's one
rare place in Washington where you will find real conservatives — like
the ones who stopped the $700 billion handout Monday. The best way we
have to fight back against encroaching socialism is to minimize the
continued losses that are expected in the House.
As many regular readers of RWN already know, in 2006 I organized a
group of conservative bloggers to raise money for the GOP. Well, this
year we've got another group of bloggers together.
The blogs that applied their combined political expertise to come up
with the most effective slate possible includes top names from the
right side of the blogosphere:
Now, let me tell you a little bit about the slate of candidates we picked.
They're all non-incumbents in competitive races who were unanimously
approved by every blogger endorsing the list. All of our candidates are
in the House because the amount of money we're going to raise can make
a bigger difference in those races. I would also add that you'll find
this batch of candidates to be very fiscally conservative, pro-life,
and tough on illegal immigration. In other words, these are exactly the
sort of candidates we're going to desperately need in Congress next
year.
Now, I don't want to scare you, but I do need to be honest with you:
whether McCain wins or not, on the Congressional level, it's entirely
possible that the GOP is going to have a year that is just as bad as
2006 was for us. In other words, even if McCain pulls it out, it's
going to be an ugly year.
That's why it's so important to do what you can, right here and
right now, for candidates who can make a difference. As you look at the
candidates we chose, I think you will see that they are worthy of your
support.

I had the great fortune to meet and interview the man running against Kerry, former Army Delta Force Commander, small business man, former CIA - a real man - not a keptboy - Jeff Beatty.
From our view, the only thing sadder than a Barack Obama imperial
presidency is the vision of John Kerry bopping from country to country
as Obama’s “special envoy." Recently, their big budget screen test
went international -- Barack with his long apology about American power
before 200,000 at Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate, and Kerry simultaneously
chatting away on cable here at home. Kerry’s shilling for Barack
cannot mask what we here already know: The combination of Gov. Deval
Patrick and Sen. John Kerry has been devastating for the citizens of
Massachusetts. Under Kerry and Patrick, Massachusetts now has one of
the nation’s highest property tax burdens, is among the highest in per
capita debt, and is one of the few states in the country to be losing
population. Now, Governor Patrick is flirting with raising income
taxes to wipe away the sins of his Democratic buddies. In short, the
Patrick/Kerry movie boils down to a series of broken promises and
failed leadership.
To make matters worse, in word and deed, John Kerry has expressed
anti-American sentiment throughout his public life -- beginning with
his testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in 1971.
Early last year in Davos, Switzerland, Kerry ingratiated himself with
Europeans by again making public comments that revealed his true nature
and shocked many people here at home. Speaking at the World Economic
Forum, he openly ridiculed the United States to the delight of many in
the audience. "The problem with Americans is they have an unfortunate
habit of seeing the world through an American lens," Kerry said. He
also referred to the United States as an "international pariah." This
is the John Kerry who could have written Barack Obama’s America-bashing
speech in Berlin.

I would also point out that the last election was as much a referendum in favor of Bush and the War as it was AGAINST Kerry when 87%+ of the military voted for Bush. There are pictures of Kerry, along with Jane Fonda and others, in the museum in Vietnam commemorating those who helped undermine the morale and resolve of the United States. In the current conflict he has his statements before and after the 2004 election.
"You know, education, if you make the most of it, if you study hard and you do your homework, and you make an effort to be smart, uh, you, you can do well. If you don’t, you get stuck in Iraq." (John Kerry)
This is a three-fold slap in the face.
1) there are many folks like me with more formal education with better grades than John Kerry (D.V.M. and Ph.D. in my case with both GPAs above 3.5), and we have plenty ofoptions inside and outside of the government.
2) it's a slap to those who went in right out of high school, claiming that they didn't make a conscious and conscientious decision to serve, as well as do something that was good for their future (Melanie as an example of obtaining a B.A. after 10 years enlisted, followed by getting into law school).
Slap #3) is to spin the statement to be about Bush and make out that we're too stupid to figure out what he really meant.
"And there is no reason, Bob, that young American soldiers need to be going into the homes of Iraqis in the dead of night, terrorizing kids and children, you know, women, breaking sort of the customs of the – of – the historical customs, religious customs. Whether you like it or not...Iraqis should be doing that."

That's the same John Kerry who made the following statement:
"They told stories at times they had personally raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned up the power, cut off limbs, blown up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan, shot cattle and dogs for fun, poisoned food stocks and generally ravaged the countryside of South Vietnam in addition to the normal ravage of war, and the normal and particular ravaging which is done by the applied bombing power of this country."
According to the Swift Boat Veterans, it was Kerry who intentionally put his unit in harm's way for the purposes of obtaining medals by grounding their boats (his was second), shot a fleeing wounded teenager in the back, and randomly slaughtered animals.
"Unfit for Command" exposed how Kerry was still involved and attending meetings of the Vietnam Veterans Against the War while threats of assassination were raised against members of Congress who supported the war. Documents put Kerry in the same room during these meetings and discussions, and moreover, he was still in the Naval Reserve (until 1978) and thus still subject to the Uniform Code of Military Justice.

Rep. John Murtha's disgrace in
denouncing the Marines of the Haditha incident is not going to fade away gently
into the night. William Russell, has returned from a tour of duty in the
military and is running against him. His campaign has produced this video
featuring Darryl Sharratt, the father of one of the Marines accused by Murtha of
being a "cold-blooded killer." His son Justin Sharratt has subsequently been
fully vindicated, and all charges dropped.

How fortunate for Florida that they could throw that bottom feeder
Klein out and have an extraordinary thinking hero take over the helm of
the 22nd district.
Last Thursday (July 24th), the president of the Zionist Organization of America,
one of America’s the most respected of Jewish-American organizations, called
ZOA South Florida organization chairman Alan Bergstein and gave him an
ultimatum: stop his volunteer work for West or resign from his ZOA post.
According to the West campaign, “it was made clear to Bergstein that Ron Klein
was necessary to pass congressional legislation important to ZOA and to Israel.
ZOA has an obligation to its membership to ensure that their issues are
considered, so the national office clearly felt it had no choice but to deliver
the message to Mr. Bergstein.”
Think about it for a minute, experts:
if Klein is sending a signal for someone to do give an ultimatum to a campaign
volunteer for West, does it not follow that he is somewhat concerned about the
Republican challenger?
In March, ZOA had arranged a joint appearance
between Klein and West. Two days before the scheduled event, Klein said he was
unable to attend and asked ZOA to cancel the event. The group refused, the
event was held, Allen West did speak, and it was very well-attended.
And
Bergstein? Upset that (in his words) “a Jewish congressman has to threaten
Israel and world Jewry by whining over one person’s activities, Bergstein chose
the better part of valor, resigned his position with ZOA, and will work hard on
the West campaign.
I have passed the report of the ZOA and West on to
others, including the Republican Jewish Coalition and Rep. Eric Cantor of
Virginia, the lone Jewish Republican in the House. Their response will be
interesting—as will those of the political “experts” the next time we review the
races.
Allen West responds:
We believe that Mort Klein was put in an untenable position by Ron Klein or his supporters. Alan Bergstein was given the choice of resigning from either the ZOA or from his volunteer support for Allen West. We are not aware of any Ron Klein supporters who received a similar phone call.
Mr. Bergstein resigned under protest from the ZOA. To our knowledge, no mention was made of tax status concerns but even if the question had been raised, the remedy offered was an over-reaction.
Mr. Bergstein honored the group's rules when he set up the candidate forum that started this ball rolling. Allen West appreciated the hospitality extended to him by the local ZOA and also honored their rules in his comments to them.
This argument is not--and should not be--between Allen West and the ZOA. It is more properly directed at Ron Klein, without whose inappropriate pressure this would not have occurred.
Any rational Jew that votes Democrat these days is lost. It signals an irretrievably broken mind. Look at the Florida race. The differences could not be plainer. And yet self loathing Jews lead the pack .... huh? living in South Florida , I must admit that there are two things about it that
bother me. They both happen to be dim-witted Congressmen who ignore their
constituency's love for Israel and this country. Congressman Robert Wexler who

Wexler's mindless, sad

portfolio documenting Ellison's membership in CAIR, that he's an official in

Ellison from the committee. He claimed this documentation was too insufficient
to take action.Let's get rid of him by electing, to replace him in Congress, a

Rep. Wexler's Shameless Misinformation Campaign

Robert Wexler, Barack Obama's leading Congressional cheerleader and the man who has worked mightily to convince supporters of the American-Israel alliance that Obama can be relied upon to enhance Israel 's security against Iranian threats to destroy it, indicates he may very well oppose a Congressional Resolution meant to pressure Iran to comply with international demands regarding its nuclear program.
He willfully misleads -as others on the left have done- on the nature of this resolution. They, and Wexler, believe that the Resolution calls for a naval blockade and characterize this as an act of war. They are wrong. The Resolution merely calls upon the President to initiate an "international effort to impose stringent inspection requirements on all persons, vehicles, ships, planes, trains and cargo entering or departing Iran ". This is not a blockade and willfully misinterpreting it to be so is wrong and this interpretation is supported by very clear language in the rest of the Resolution that expressly states that "nothing in this Resolution should be construed as an authorization of the use of force against Iran ". Inspections are not an uncommon feature of non-proliferation efforts. The Proliferation Security Initiative recognizes the importance of being able to interdict and inspect suspect shipments.
The discovery of a ship containing nuclear research material on its way to Libya was key to the discovering and unraveling of the A.Q. Khan nuclear smuggling network and the terminating of Libya 's nuclear program. Regardless, how reliable Wexler's assurances are regarding Barack Obama when he advocates, even at the expense of honesty, an appeasement approach that will strengthen Iran .
Of course, Wexler makes this announcement on the left-wing Huffington Post where he has a column. To wit, Wexler writes:
In the coming weeks, the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, of which I am a member, may vote on House Concurrent Resolution 362. Given my growing concerns regarding this resolution, including its failure to advocate for direct American engagement with Tehran and open language that could lead to a US blockade of Iran, I will lead an effort to make changes to this resolution before it comes to the Foreign Affairs committee for a vote. Despite being a cosponsor of this resolution -- these changes will ultimately determine whether or not I will continue to support H. Con. Res. 362.
So Barack Obama's chief supporter in the House, a man who the Senator has all but appointed as an Ambassador to the Jewish community, seems willing to misinterpret a Resolution in such a way to serve the interests of Iran .

My advice to Senator Obama is to run as a Man and Leader, and the American people will evaluate you as such, not as a victim. This is a presidential race, based solely on a capacity to lead the United States of America. It is not about skin tone; however, perhaps we should come to expect these immature statements.
It also seems rather humorous that the presidential candidate who was supposed to be such a "uniter" and transcend race is the one talking about it the most. If Senator Obama was confident in his abilities and character, he would not need to create a crutch for failure. Senator Obama has just tipped his hand; any criticism of him and his policies will be directly attributed to racism. I congratulate Senator Obama for taking race relations in America back some 30 years.

Russell can now run for Congress against John Murtha as a Republican in the 12th
Congressional District of Pennsylvania in the November 2008 election. He is a hero. A family man, a husband,

well as an American Soldier. A Great American.

Dirty Politics. That is a common practice by Democratic Candidates. Hillary
Clinton is now using a tactic the press calls the "Kitchen Sink Strategy"
because in her desperation of trying to stop the rise of Barack Hussein Obama,
it seems like she is throwing everything at him but the kitchen
sink.
John Murtha is another cheating, lying, unscrupulous politician
that will do anything in his power to ensure his 34 year reign in the United
States Congress continues.
John Murtha's years in Congress have been
spotted with scandals. In 1980 Murtha became embroiled in the Abscam
investigation. He was videotaped participating in unethical activities, but
ultimately was never indicted or charged. He agreed to testify against Frank
Thompson (D-NJ) and John Murphy (D-NY), the two Congressmen mentioned as
participants in the scandal, who were videotaped placing cash bribes in their
trousers. The FBI videotaped Murtha responding to an offer of $50,000, with
Murtha saying, "I'm not interested... at this point. If we do business for a
while, maybe I'll be interested, maybe I won't." After that Murtha offered to
provide names of businesses and banks in his district where money could be
invested legally. The U.S. Attorneys Office was of the opinion that Murtha's
intentions were to obtain investment in his district. Yeah, right. Like I
believe that.
When it came to America's entrance into the Battlefield in
Iraq, Murtha voted in support for the October 2002 resolution authorizing the
use of force against Saddam Hussein's Iraq. In early 2005 Murtha argued against
the withdrawal of American troops from Iraq saying, "A premature withdrawal of
our troops based on a political timetable could rapidly devolve into a civil war
which would leave America’s foreign policy in disarray as countries question not
only America’s judgment but also its perseverance."
Then, suddenly in
late 2005 he changed his tune and said, "The U.S. cannot accomplish anything
further in Iraq militarily. It is time to bring them home." He later indicated
that he was calling for redeployment as opposed to a withdrawal to appease
critics. I think he realized the rest of the lefties in the Democratic Party was
believing that, and changed his tune so that he could be in goose-step right
beside them.
He has also said that terrorists desire an American military
presence in Iraq, proclaiming, "I think they’re trying to get this
administration to stay. I think they want us there. Because we have united the
Iraqis against us. We’re spending all this money and diverting our resources
away from the war on terrorism because we’re involved in a civil war in
Iraq."
After Karl Rove stated in response to Murtha's withdrawal
statement, "After the United States cuts and runs from Iraq, what country in the
Middle East would take us?" Murtha was asked by Tim Russert to respond. He said,
"We can go to Okinawa. We can redeploy there almost instantly." Recently,
however, even John Murtha has reluctantly admitted the troop surge in Iraq is
working.
Then, after the Haditha Marines incident in November, 2005, of
which nearly all of the Marines involved have been acquitted because the
evidence does not jive with the Media's telling of the incident, and no wrong
doing has been proven, Murtha said about our U.S. Marines in Iraq, ". . .they
killed innocent civilians in cold blood. . ."
Murtha's "Cold Blooded
Killers" remark sparked anger and rage among Republicans and Conservatives
alike. William Russell has demanded John Murtha apologize for the remark. An
apology has not been issued yet.
Now, Murtha is up to his dirty politics
again, but now it is beyond comparison. In a court battle, Murtha
has arranged to have his only opponent tossed off the ballot. This leaves no
other Republicans to battle against Murtha, giving him a free path right back
into the United States Congress.
Fellow Conservative Blogger, I ask that
you rally behind William
Russell. Blog about this unethical move by Murtha. Expose John Murtha as the
coward he is, and let folks know what's going on. I urge that we begin a
national effort to get Russell back on the ballot! We cannot vote in his
district, but we can spread the word to have folks contribute to his campaign so
that he has the funds to contact voters, and have them place him back on the
ballot by writing Russell in on the April 22 primary ballot.

I was a fulltime Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army Reserve, stationed at the Pentagon and a little over 2 years short of full, active duty retirement. Until March of 2007, my wife Kasia and I were looking forward to finishing out my Army career and moving to southern or southwestern Pennsylvania after I retired from the Army.
But last March I had the opportunity to meet with some of our Wounded Warriors during their visit to the Pentagon. I have always been impressed by the spirit and good cheer of so many of these wounded heroes but also understand the sullen responses from some. Seeing these Soldiers, Marines, and Airmen with missing and shattered limbs, two with missing eyes and wounded faces, I found myself wiping away the tears as I walked back to my office. I was both sadden and angered that the sacrifices these brave service men and women, like the others I have served with in combat, make for this country and the thought of how they are betrayed by the actions of politicians such as John Murtha.
But seeing those Soldiers, Sailors, Marines, and Airmen who have given so much to this nation, both enraged and saddened me. It also forced me to recognize that the United States is now engaged in a great political battle to determine whether this nation, founded in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal, can maintain the political resolve in its fight against a totalitarian political system, cloaked in religion, which is dedicated to the destruction of our liberty. I believe I must stand up and make a difference in this fight and not wait for two more years until I retire.

TWO Republicans (count them!) went to court and demanded a judge disqualify Russell for insufficient valid signatures to place his name on the ballot. Apparently - according to the Republicans - Russell had only 993 signatures of the 1000 needed. Russell has been forced to drop out because he has no money to fight the court battle."

Murtha’s GOP opponent tossed off ballot
Republican William Russell knew that he faced an uphill battle when he decided to challenge longtime Democratic U.S. Rep. John Murtha.
Now, Russell’s battle may have ended before a single vote has been cast.
A Commonwealth Court judge on Tuesday ruled that Russell does not have enough valid petition signatures to appear on the April 22 primary ballot.
Russell, a veteran of both Iraq wars who quit his Army job and moved to Johnstown to run against Murtha, said he will not appeal.
“I don’t have the resources to fight a protracted court battle,” the former Washington, D.C., resident said.
With no other Republicans filing to run in the 12th Congressional District, Russell still has a chance to win his party’s nomination.
He would need at least 1,000 voters to write his name on primary ballots, and he would have to be the top vote-getter among any write-in candidates.
Russell is not sure whether he will campaign for write-in votes.
“We’ll make that decision in the coming days,” he said.
The challenge to Russell’s petitions came from two local Republicans and was backed by Murtha’s campaign.
Commonwealth Court Judge Robert Simpson ruled that Russell’s petitions contained only 993 valid signatures – seven short of the 1,000 needed.

POW John McCain campaigns for the Republican presidential nomination in Florida,
another retired veteran is counting on his military experience to catapult him
to victory in the Sunshine State.
Retired Army Col. Allen West is campaigning in Florida's
22nd U.S. Congressional District, hoping to unseat freshman Democratic Rep. Ron
Klein, who toppled 26-year Republican incumbent Clay Shaw in a contentious
battle in 2006.
The well-funded and very politically active Klein is not
about to give up his seat easily, but West is banking on his notoriety as much
as his military experience to make his case.
West, 46, cuts an intriguing figure. He is a war hero to his
supporters, but his opponents see him as a symbol of a war gone wrong.
West commanded the 2nd Battalion, 20th Field Artillery,
Fourth Infantry Division in Iraq, then spent two years as a private contractor
helping to train the Afghan army.
He's not only up on military and national security issues,
but he has worked briefly as a teacher in the Palm Beach/Broward County area
public schools.
"Allen is one of the most compelling figures I've ever
worked with," said Donna Brosemer, an unpaid campaign strategist and spokeswoman
for West. "He's a non-traditional candidate at a time when the public is sick of
traditional candidates."

WASHINGTON - Last Thursday a federal grand jury in Kansas City indicted four persons working for the group Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, accusing them of submitting more than 15,000 voter registration forms with fictitious names, phony signatures and bogus addresses.
They number has been upped to under 40,000
ACORN is a liberal advocacy group that claims to speak for the poor and minorities — running these voter registration drives no doubt to prime the pump for an Election Day voter turnout operation that includes multiple voting by the same people at different precincts in a state with a tightly contested Senate race.

But ACORN also runs big-money community development corporations. The federal government supported ACORN housing programs to the tune of $2.6 million in 2003-04. That led Republicans to support efforts to prohibit Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac from subsidizing ACORN’s voter registration drives.
And how about all those dead people in Florida still on the alive and kicking voter rolls?
Over 181,000 dead people were still on the voter rolls of six swing states in the 2004 general election, including almost 65,000 in Florida, according to the bipartisan 2005 Commission on Federal Election Reform. Also in 2004, thousands on voter rolls had moved out of state or, as convicted felons, had lost the right to vote.
Cheap Anti-Fraud Fix
Photo IDs would at least make sure voters on state rolls are still residents on Election Day.

federal grant program aimed at reducing bullying in public schools "based on any
distinguishing characteristic of an individual." [No doubt federal sensitivity
training classes are next for the violators.]
Medicare and Medicaid Programs of Incontinence Undergarments (Frank, D-MA)
H.R. 1052. Makes adult diapers a covered item under Medicare and Medicaid. [It's
an outrage that adult Pampers aren't already covered.]
Gas Stamp Act (McDermott, D-WA) H.R. 3712. Creates billions of dollars in
gas stamps each year for people to get free gas, to be distributed to those
already eligible for food stamps. [We're still waiting for Xbox 360 Stamps.]
Ex-Offenders Voting Rights Act (Rangel, D-NY) H.R. 663. Allows those
convicts who are just out of prison to vote. [Democrats have a well-founded
suspicion that their party would score the lion's share of the ex-prison vote.]
Department of Peace and Nonviolence Act (Kucinich, D-OH) H.R. 3760.
Establishes a U.S. Department of Peace and Nonviolence, as well as a Peace Day.
The department would promote "human rights, international conflict prevention,
nonviolent intervention, structured mediation, and peaceful conflict
resolution." [What else would we expect from Mr. Kucinich? This could be the
theme for his '08 presidential run.]
End the War in Iraq Act (McGovern, D-MA) H.R. 4232. Defunds the War in Iraq,
forcing immediate troop withdrawal. [Exactly the cut-and-run strategy that
leading Democrats say they have no dream of imposing.]
Public Interest Lawyer Assistance Relief Act (Andrews, D-NJ) H.R. 1753.
Forgives the law school debt for attorneys working for tax-exempt organizations
or the government. [Why don't they just waive all tuition for self-identified
liberals?]
Medicare for All Act (Dingell, D-MI) H.R. 4683. Increases taxes on workers
and employers in order to offer to citizens or legal residents of any age
Medicare benefits equivalent to the health care plans federal employees receive.
[After all, socialized medicine has worked so well in Canada.]
There's a lot more, including half a dozen constitutional amendments
guaranteeing every American a job, a "livable wage," health care, a high-quality
education, affordable housing, and full employment. Call it to the new and
improved Bill of Rights. Republicans have cosponsored some of these dingbat
ideas, so the GOP is hardly blameless. But if the Democrats are a new moderate
bunch, Messrs. Nadler, Kucinich, Rangel and McGovern never got the memo.

BAKED ON THE PREMISES -- Just a little train robbery Paris 5 November Nidra Poller
They spilled out of a Halloween concert in Aubervilliers and went on a little binge of ordinary public transportation violence on a relatively calm evening in Paris. Some of them threw stones (probably rocks) at buses, while a group of about a hundred ducked into the metro and started spooking passengers. The incident, reported in the print edition of Le Parisien was not posted in the paper’s pay-to-read website and has not been mentioned anywhere else that I can find. Richard Landes tipped me off this morning and later sent me a transcript of the article posted on caution.ch, a site based in Switzerland and self-described as “a collection of arguments in support of the prohibition of Islam in Switzerland.”
Under the headline “A hundred vandals attack passengers,” the reporter describes the incident (The reporter’s name, which is illegible on the scanned article, is not given on the transcript.) Answering a call for help, the police discovered frightened passengers running out of the station at the Marcadet-Poissoniers metro station in the 18th arrondissement. They boarded the train and found stolen property scattered on the floor all up and down the cars, but the victims couldn’t identify their assailants so the police let the train go on.
This reminds me of the Great Train Razziaon New Year’s day last year. Different teams of local policemen jumped in and out of the train between Nice and Marseille, leaving the passengers at the mercy of their tormentors, and never could find the culprits.
Lo and behold, no sooner had the train left the station than the strong-armed robbery started again. Some intrepid passenger pulled the alarm signal, the train was stopped again, “between Marcadet-Poissoniers and Château Rouge,” according to the article. (I don’t know if this means it backed up to Marcadet or went forward to Château Rouge for the final episode):
This time the police decided to organize a controlled exit of all passengers, did a shake down, and found 12 culprits whose pockets were filled with evidence; five men aged 18 to 22 were arraigned immediately; three minors from the outlying district of Val-de-Marne are scheduled to appear before a juvenile court in Créteil. That leaves roughly 88 on the loose!
The police totally evacuated the metro station, [somehow separated the racaille from the law-abiding citizens] and accompanied the gang on foot from there to the Gare du Nord, where the newspaper article leaves them. My imagination can’t help wondering if they didn’t pursue their razzia in their favorite RER (commuters and racaille) train.
How are citizens supposed to navigate in this heavy fog? As I remarked in my article on the bus burning in Marseille, press reports consistently slipped over an essential detail: in most if not all cases these buses were set afire with people inside. They managed to escape. No injuries. Like the Qassams lobbed into Sderot on a regular basis: most of the time they miss their targets, no one is killed. So why should Israel get exasperated and send Tsahal to deal with the jihadis?
UPDATE: I've said it all year long and I will continue to say it. The Republicans will keep the Senate and the House. Dean Barnett is on the same page here and he is bursting. Despite all the squawking.

A Bloomberg/Los Angeles Times poll comparing voter attitudes on the war
in Lebanon and toward Israel shows Republicans to be far more
supportive of Israel than Democrats: 54% of Democrats advocate that the
United States adopt a more neutral - i.e., less pro-Israel - stance to
the Middle East, as opposed to only 29% of Republicans. Nearly
two-thirds of Republicans felt the Israeli bombing in Lebanon was fully
justified, as opposed to only 29% of Democrats. A recent Zogby poll
showed that almost exactly the same number of Americans believe that an
“Israel lobby” influenced America’s entry into the deeply unpopular war
in Iraq.
For the past several weeks, there has been a rumor circulating among
high-level officials in Washington, D.C., that a member of the U.S. Supreme
Court has received grave medical news and will announce his or her retirement by
year’s end.

Schumer is reported to have assured Democrats that Bob Casey Jr. — despite
running as a moderate Senate candidate — would be supportive of Democratic
efforts to block constitutionalist judicial nominees. “There’s no worry on
judges,” said Schumer. “And judges is the whole ball of wax.” Other supposedly
centrist Democratic candidates including Harold Ford Jr. (Tenn.), Jon Tester
(Mont.) and Jim Webb (Va.) have refused to rule out filibusters against judicial
nominees.

On a more general level, Frsit is heartened by the fact that when he
speaks with small groups of voters (as he regularly does on the
campaign trail), the economy comes up, and in a positive way, more
often and earlier in the discussion than was the case a month ago. This
is good news, indeed.
After the election, Frist intends to run an aggressive "lame duck"
session, focusing in particular on pushing for the confirmation of John
Bolton. When that's all over, he'll return to Nashville, having
fulfilled his 1994 promise to limit himself to two terms, and decide
whether to pursue the presidency. Frist told us he would make that
decision in January.
Frist referred several times to his blog and seemed to take particular pride in a several of his posts which chide the Democrats. We know the feeling.

(AINA) -- According to the Assyrian website ankawa.com, a 14 year old Christian Assyrian
boy, Ayad Tariq, from Baqouba, Iraq was decapitated at his work place on October
21.
Ayad Tariq was working his 12 hour shift, maintaining an electric generator,
when a group of disguised Muslim insurgents walked in at the beginning of his
shift shortly after 6 a.m. and asked him for his ID.
According to another employee who witnessed the events, and who hid when he
saw the insurgents approach, the insurgents questioned Ayad after seeing that
his ID stated "Christian", asking if he was truly a "Christian sinner." Ayad
replied "yes, I am Christian but I am not a sinner." The insurgents quickly said
this is a "dirty Christian sinner!" Then they proceeded to each hold one limb,
shouting "Allahu akbar! Allahu akbar!" while beheading the boy.

It's not so much that keeping control of the House and the Senate is critical for Republicans, it is critical to Americans, to lovers of liberty, to fighting the war on the Global Jihad.
That said I am supporting candidates I have had issues with in the past, but next to their democratic opponents are positively golden. I had a dinner this evening with Senator Mike DeWine currently in a dogfight with Democratic, wife beating challenger Sherrod Brown of Avon, (he didn't call him that. I did - check out his divorce papers.)
I admire DeWine's record on a great many critical issues, particularly his unwaivering support of Israel and the war on terror. He has been a Senate leader in the fight against AIDS worldwide and drafted several bills to combat unfair Chinese trade practices.
But I am most moved by his dedication to getting the Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act passed. Passage of this
legislation lifted the last remaining veils of secrecy on one of the
darkest periods in human history.
The Nazi War Crimes Disclosure Act represented the
culmination of work begun in the last Congress to release U.S.
Government-held records of Nazi war criminals, the Nazi Holocaust, and
the trafficking of Nazi-held assets. That information revealed how much earlier America knew of the German atrocities and the collusion between the American government and ex-Nazis after the war. The CIA and Nazi war criminals.
OTOH, DeWine was a member of the Senate's "Gang of 14" that brokered deasl to approve President Bush's nominees to the
U.S. Supreme Court and killed the Republican initiative to strip Democrats
of the power to filibuster confirmations. I never liked the Gang of 14 and the power they wielded. They compromised important Republican positions and I asked him about it.....he responds in this VLOG
The Dems are throwing a ton of money in this race and DeWine is in the political fight of his life. And having the opportunity TO sit and listen to this man, it's a damn shame. Here is a thoughtful, deliberate, rational man. Quiet but effective. Steak vs. sizzle.
Brown on the other hand is a far left liberal and has made the fight all about Bush. This race has become a hot point and DeWine is taking
enormous heat for Bush's low ratings in that state (did anyone really
think the war on Islam was going to be easy?)
Brown
echoes the talking point that seemingly has been fed to every other
Democratic congressional candidate this fall - that his or her opponent
is a "rubber stamp" for President Bush. This simple-minded toting up of
roll-call votes is nonsense. You could just as easily - and unfairly -
argue that Brown is a rubber stamp for Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi. More here

A delightful surprise was meeting with Congresswoman Sue Kelly19th District New York, what a woman! A warrior in the war on Islamic jihad. And time is of the essence-, Abdullah is sick and his successors are violent, hardcore. - I have less hope but clearly she iis fighting the great fight. Her priorities are what every member of Congress ought to be.
DeWine speaks to the difference between the Republican and Democrat approaches to fighting the war on Islamic terror. The biggest concern in that room was a nuclear Iran and what could/would be done about it. The upset is the impending nuclear arms race but I say, if our enemies are going to have nukes, then we must give them to our friends.
I believe the Republicans are going to keep the House and the Senate and I've said that all along but it is crucial we get out the vote.
VOTE LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT, BECAUSE IT DOES.
