Lt. Colonel Allen West addressed the New Life Church on July 2nd. I am running his remarks because it is speech of a great America, a speech the President of the United States should make, but is incapable of making. I am honored to know Allen West and support his candidacy in Florida 22nd district.

Here is the speech of a leader, a patriot, a presidential contender.

“What Do We Celebrate Today”
New Life Church, 2 July 2009

A greeting to all here at New Life Church and it is truly an honor to be here with you this evening. Deerfield Beach has a real special place in my heart because it was here that I taught HS for a year upon my retirement from 22 years active duty service.

Here we are together at an event called “Celebrate America” and I believe a good speaker should always pose a question for the audience. Therefore, “What do we Celebrate Today?”

Read Psalms 33:12

Sit and imagine a select group of men, some 56, on 2 July 1776, 233 years ago. Imagine being Thomas Jefferson with the unenviable task of creating a document which basically was an act of treason and would mean the death warrant for those who would later sign.

You are about to capture in words one of the two greatest political documents ever known, the Declaration of Independence…later came the Constitution of the United States.

So what drove these men to such a conviction? What did they hope we would be here celebrating 233 years later?

On this same day 233 years ago, Gen George Washington stated;

“We have therefore to resolve to conquer or die: Our Country’s Honor, all call upon us for vigorous and manly exertion, and if we now shamefully fail, we shall become infamous to the whole world.

Let us therefore rely upon the goodness of the Cause, and the aid of the Supreme Being, in whose hands Victory is, to animate and encourage us to great and noble Actions”.

Today we should be celebrating the beginnings of America and Americans. Today we should celebrate the triumph of the indomitable human will to seek out Freedom from tyrannical rule.

But then if I were to ask 200 people on the street this evening, “What is America and what is an American?” Do you think there would be one common answer or unifying theme?

Would the respondents understand that our Republic stands as a beacon of Liberty, Sacrifice, and Faith?

The 4th of July is more than just BBQ and fireworks, and time off from work. It is a day when we should reflect upon the fabric of this Nation, its history, struggles, challenges, defeats, and triumphs……everyone should rent and watch “The Patriot” and “John Adams”.

It is a day when we should examine ourselves as America and Americans and recommit ourselves to our foundational principles, beliefs, and yes Faith…….is there something wrong with embracing those basic American values?

Lets us look at some things that have recently occurred:

1.We have a government that has castigated those who believe in certain foundational principles as extremists…and labeled returning military veterans as potential domestic terrorists.
2.Just two days ago in the NY State Senate, there were legislators who refused to stand and give honor to the Pledge of Allegiance...and even restrained a comrade who attempted to stand and recite the pledge.
3.A homegrown convert to islam gunned down two US Soldiers, killing one, outside an Army recruiting station in Little Rock Ark.
4.There is legislation being developed to “give away” American citizenship to individuals who have entered our Country illegally…and we even have to “Press 1” for our own language, which no one in our Nation’s capitol wish to make official 5.Lastly, we have our President state before a foreign nation that we are not a Christian Nation but one of many religions.

Why? How have we forgotten what we are supposed to celebrate?

Patrick Henry stated, “Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone that approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force you are inevitable ruined”.

And we all recall his most famous quote, “Give me liberty or give me death”.

The Freedoms we enjoy in America truly are not free; they come with a bill of personal sacrifice, responsibility, and accountability. We must hold ourselves to the highest degree of accountability to this Nation, under God indivisible with Liberty and Justice for all.

America is indeed a Land of Mutt’s, you know that is true but there must be a common fabric bonding us as Americans, language, beliefs, principles, shared goals, and Faith.

Inclusiveness of all cannot come at the detriment of our Society; for when tolerance becomes a one way street it leads to cultural suicide.

Washington stated, “We are either a people, or we are not. If the former, let us, in all matters of great concern act as a Nation, which has National objects to promote, and a National character to support. If we are not, let us no longer act a farce by pretending to it”.

What do we Celebrate Today?

We celebrate a rich Judeo-Christian heritage which is the foundational premise upon which America was birthed and exists today…sorry Mr President, you got it wrong!

Here are examples from our Founding Fathers;

Washington: “While we are zealously performing the duties of good citizens and Soldiers, we certainly ought not to be inattentive to the higher duties of religion. To the distinguished character of Patriot, it should be our highest glory to add the more distinguished character of Christian.”

John Adams: “The general principles on which the fathers achieved independence were the general principles of Christianity. I will avow that I then believed and now believe that those general principles of Christianity are as eternal and immutable as the existence and attributes of God.”

Jefferson: “God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of people that these liberties are of the Gift of God?.....I tremble for my Country when I reflect that God is just; that His justice cannot sleep forever.”

Hancock: Resistance to tyranny becomes the Christian and social duty of each individual….Continue steadfast and, with a proper sense of your dependence on God, nobly defend those rights which Heaven gave, and no man ought to take from us.”

Patrick Henry: It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded, not by religionists, but by Christians; not on religions, but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. For this very reason peoples of other faiths have been afforded asylum, prosperity, and freedom of worship here.”

And if there is any doubt about what guided the construction of our branches of government….READ ISAIAH 33:22.

Our Founding Fathers believed as David did in Psalms 20:7……..

Today we celebrate a rich heritage born of Men of Conviction, (24) of the (56) signers held seminary or Bible school degrees. (15) became POWs, (12) had their homes destroyed, and (9) fought and died.

As Christ gave us Freedom from sin…these Men gave us Freedom from tyranny, earthly Liberty.

Do not focus on the seemingly constant negative messages and hate driven upon us by our media. Celebrate that which is truly the “shining city which sits upon a hill”. Never forget that you ARE the “Salt of the earth, the lamp which burns brightest”.

Never forget that we must be committed to fighting for this rich heritage, our National objects and character…or else we shall just be another chapter in a history book in the future.

John Stuart Mill stated, “War is an ugly thing, not the ugliest of things: the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feelings which thinks nothing worth a war, is worse.”

In conclusion, I am not advocating constant war or conflict, but I do advocate this, know that for which we should celebrate, honor it, and defend it. When the National Anthem is played correct someone that continues to talk or not remove their hat.

Teach our children and grandchildren the history of this Country, good, bad, and otherwise, develop in them a sense of pride in being an American, never ashamed to simply state, “I am an American”.

In December 1776 after our young Nation had suffered defeats by the British, Thomas Paine stated, “These are the times that try Men’s souls. The summer Soldier and sunshine Patriot will, in this crisis, shrink from the service of his Country; but he (she) that stands now deserves the love and thanks of man and woman.”

As I depart, I humbly beseech you not be the sunshine Patriot, celebrate the 4th of July every day honoring our Judeo-Christian heritage, honoring America.

Lt Colonel Allen West on the Iranian Revolution: "My message to President Barack Hussein Obama, there is no button to vote 'present' in the Oval Office"

I asked great American Lt Colonel Allen West for his thoughts on the terrible events in Iran. This, dear readers, best embodies American exceptionalism. This best represents our future.

I have sat and watched the situation in Iran post the fraudulent elections and just shake my head. When I departed Kandahar Afghanistan in late October 2007 my Interpreter/Translator staff asked of me one thing, "do not forget us". I looked each of those young Men in the eye and gave them my commitment. The covenant was simple,  that in my lifetime I would seek to free Afghanistan from the tyranny of mullahs, clerics, imams, and bloodthirsty terrorists.

 

I never break a promise.

 

I will not "bear witness" to this demonic display of inhuman treatment and human rights violations. Heck, where is the UN and the world leaders who waste no time in condemning Israel for defending herself against same theocrats and barbaric thugs.

 

How many of you recall that just a little over 30 years ago, a previous weak, ineffective, effete Democrat president allowed the Ayatollahs to rise to power. Hence resulting in a fleeing of exceptionally gifted Persians and ushering in of a new era of radical Islamic terrorism.

 

Now, some 30 years later we have a redux of an effete, ineffective President whose nuanced intellectual elite responses offer no support to those desiring Liberty. Indeed, President Obama's apologetic Cairo speech just emboldened the Mad Mullahs and Annoying Ayatollah's, as well as Johnny Jihadi. The theocrats and despotic autocrats who dominate the Islamic world realize they are free to butcher and suppress their own people, young people, who desire one thing.....Freedom.

 

Imagine if Obama existed in the days of the Soviet Union, Lech Walesa, and Vaclav Havel, would that wall have indeed come down? I know that the "messiah" believes that his mere presence and a teleprompted speech will convice killers to lay down their arms and worship at his feet.

 

That is the state of delusional malignant narcissism which now occupies 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

 

We must break the power and control of the theocrats if we are to defeat radical Islamic terrorism. We must have leadership that is bold and convicted and not cower being concerned about "they will blame me if I meddle". The world is watching as America loses respect, but hey, I suppose everyone likes us now.

 

My message to President Barack Hussein Obama, there is no button to vote "present" in the Oval Office. If you have not the courage to face the enemy, do us a favor, leave the Greatest office in the World and go make speeches, or co-host the Oprah Winfrey Show.

 

History is indeed repeating itself as the shadow of Sir Neville Chamberlain walks the halls of the White House.

Greetings fellow South Florida riders, South Floridians, and Americans, here we are for another monthly installment of our Wheels on the Road political assessment. This month’s title is appropriate because Rod Serling could not have written this script any better. Everyday we wake up and have to ask ourselves, “Are we in some kinda parallel universe”? Actually Serling had an episode which fits appropriately.

Therefore I googled up what has to be my favorite Twilight Zone episode, “To Serve Man”. Here is the synopsis of the episode, which was available upon search.

“A race of aliens known as the Kanamits, they were tall, land on earth and promise to be nothing but helpful to the cause of humanity. Initially wary of the intentions of such a highly advanced race even the most skeptical humans are convinced when their code-breakers begin to translate one of the Kanamit’s books with the seemingly innocuous title, “To Serve Man”.

Sharing their advanced technology, the aliens quickly solve all of the Earth’s greatest woes, eradicating hunger, disease, and the need for welfare. Soon humans are volunteering for trips to the Kanamits’ home planet, which is supposedly a paradise.

All is not well, however, when a code-breaker discovers the Kanamits’ true intentions: Their book, “To Serve Man”, is a cookbook, and all their gifts were simply to make humanity complacent, much like fattening pigs or cows before they are slaughtered.”

Here we are today and the Kanamits are the far left liberals and their book is “Rules for Radicals” by Saul Alinsky.

How many people mindlessly followed, ok, well, I will not call him an alien, Obama’s empty rhetoric of “change and hope”? How many were hypnotized by the promises of everything being taken care of and the seas rising.

They just boarded that spaceship while others where telling them, beware. Now we are hearing people state, this is not what I voted for, too late, you have been served up on a plate.

One of the groups which is now trying to jump from the Obama spaceship is the Jewish community who voted about 78% as a block. All the while the American Jewish community was being told about associations with Louis Farrakhan, Rev Jeremiah Wright, and Khalid Rashidi. There were those warning them to read his book, “Dreams of my Father” where Obama said he would, “stand with his muslim brothers”. What did we hear back from the mindless lemmings? Obama loves Israel. Obama will not betray Israel.

My response, “To serve Israel”.

Another group which wholeheartedly drank the kool aid to the tune of 97% was my own black community. I cannot tell you how many times I had deep discussions with family and friends about the 2008 Presidential elections. It would always end up with something like this, “Allen, you just hate him and I don’t care about those issues. I want a black president.” Well, they certainly indeed have a bi-racial muslim raised President of whom they can now attribute a burgeoning national unemployment rate of 9.4%, which is probably doubled in the inner city black community.

And will Obama do anything about illegal immigration which denies the black community jobs, and depresses wages?

My response, “To serve Blacks”.

I remember election night when Obama was declared victor, kind of goes along with the whole imperial Caesar image. On that night people stood in awe, similar to watching the Kanamits.

Obama made a statement which echoes in my mind, “Chicago is coming to Washington DC”. Well, it certainly has and all the corruption and coercive practices was in tow. We have seen a private sector CEO fired. Banks have been strong armed to not only take government funding but to also not repay TARP funds received. We have seen the greatest automobile manufacturer in the world brought to its knees, now owned by the government and unions.

Our healthcare is now the new target and the remedy is not to have solutions driven by medical professionals, just more government intervention. It will cost over $1Trillion and we have no idea as to how this will be paid for....here is a bet, rationing and higher taxes. But, everyone will have healthcare, no woes.

We have 16-19 “Czars” who are unconstitutionally placed in positions to dictate and influence National policy but only answer to our imperial fearful leader. There is no Congressional oversight and these Czars are above the appointed Cabinet positions. In essence, Chicago came to the White House and has created a shadow government.

I watched this President deliver a speech before a university in Cairo (not Georgia where the syrup is made) Egypt loaded with historical inaccuracies. It was a speech which, again, made a point of apologizing for America and appeasing the vilest of enemies with whom we are embroiled in global combat operations.

This President recently was “outraged” at the shooting death of an abortion doctor in Kansas, who had performed countless late term procedures. I do not condone this murder, but when contrasted against the death of Army PFC William Long, I am outraged.

Private Long was killed by a converted jihadist from Memphis Tn originally named Carlos Bledsoe. This fella had somehow secured a Somali passport, attended a Yemeni terrorist training camp, and returned to America where his goal was to kill American Soldiers. Furthermore, a laptop confiscated from this homegrown terrorist had a target list of churches and synagogues.

Our President boarded a plane to Egypt, gave another worthless speech, and then some 72 hours after the shooting delivered a statement where he was, “saddened”.

We have two American journalists sentenced to 12 years hard labor in a Country which has been testing missiles and underground nuclear weapons. We are now implementing a policy of reading Miranda rights to captured terrorists. We now are giving released detainees taxpayer dollars to “start anew” and have great new lives in resort locations like, Bermuda.

My response, “To serve America”.

Now, I could go on and talk about a quadruped debt, and remember this has all occurred in 5 months….Katie bar the Door!

What makes all this even more despicable is the complicity of a media that has become nothing more than cheerleaders. Once upon a time there was honor and integrity in the news, now it is nothing more than manipulated propaganda. Heck, ABC is about to broadcast a news segment, one hour, from the White House.

The media is simply seasoning us for the modern day Kanamits, the liberal socialists.

Who will make a stand for the American people? All I see are bloggers, talk radio hosts, Fox News, and concerned American citizens being alerted, they broke the code and found the cookbook.

This is the closing narration from the episode, “The recollections of one Michael Chambers, with appropriate flashbacks and soliloquy. Or more simply stated, the evolution of man, the cycle of going from dust to dessert, the metamorphosis from being the ruler of a planet to an ingredient in someone’s soup. It’s tonight’s bill of fare from the Twilight Zone”.

Stop drinking the kool-aid, don’t look into the light, stop following the Kanamits, unless you wish to be “served”.

Poster Child of the GOP Comeback

June 7- 8, 2009

New York Republicans will be hosting a two-day fundraiser for  LTC (ret) Allen B.West, candidate for United States Congress in the 22nd District of Florida.

According to Queens County Republican Chairman Phil Ragusa, the importance of taking back local government seats and Congress in 2010 cannot be overstated. "This is a revolution," Ragusa said, "without blood, without violence. The revolution is at the ballot box, where we have to take it back one Congressional District at a time."

Ragusa first met LTC West February when LTC West was the keynote speaker and recipient of the Lincoln Bicentennial Award at the at the Queens Village Republican Lincoln Dinner in celebration of the life and legacy of Abraham Lincoln where Ragusa was most impressed with LTC West's  intellect and the eloquent manner in which he related his core principles.

LTC West, who has served 22 years in U.S. Army said, "It is a logical progression to go from serving one's country in the armed services to serving one's country in a different uniform, a civilian suit, because you have taken an oath to the Constitution; you know what it means to sacrifice for the country." LTC West calls on RNC Chairman Michael Steele to get to work developing a qualified incoming freshman class of Republican candidates to win back 50 seats in Congress in 2010 as the GOP did in 1994.

For Queens Republicans, June is traditionally the month for networking, fundraising and strategizing for the November election and beyond. LTC West has gained nationwide support for his proven leadership skills and keen ability to channel a positive message to the electorate. Queens County Republican Chairman Phil Ragusa, who will be attending the reception at Trattoria Lucia Restaurant in Queens Village on June 8,2009, said in an interview "LTC Allen West is the poster child for the GOP to regain the majority in Congress in 2010."

I cannot say enough about him. He is America. He is a leader. He best embodies all that is good, right and true. “Enemy at the Gates”

Greetings fellow South Florida riders, South Floridians, and Americans, here we are for another monthly installment of our Wheels on the Road political assessment. There is so much which has occurred since my last missive. Of course we breached the Obama 100 day milestone and all I can say is....Holy Cow Batman!

However, as I sit here pondering my focus for this month I am reminded of a bit of history from ancient Rome. Back after the defeat of the great Carthaginian General Hannibal, Roman parents would use a simple threat when disciplining their wayward children, “Hannibal is at the gates”. There are many issues facing the Obama administration, and I am sick of his “I inherited this” excuse. He should not have run for President if he finds that he is too inept to display visionary leadership.

The primary objective of the federal government is to protect the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness of the American people. This past month I have had the opportunity to participate in some events which tells me they are failing.

The Honorable Geert Wilders, Dutch Parliamentarian, visited South Florida for a “Free Speech Summit” in April. Hon Wilders is a man of great courage and conviction who lives under threat, as well as his family, from Islamic radicals simply because he tells the truth. He has also been brought up on charges of hate speech by his own Dutch government cowering to pressure from Islamic clerics, mullahs, and imams.

Hon Wilders was denied entry to the UK, he was invited to House of Lords, by British Home Secretary because of Muslim threats to riot.

This all because he has chosen not to be silent but to confront the enemy at the gates of western civilization, radical Islamic ideologues.

This is not the first time that the so called “religion of peace” has stood at the gates of western civilization. Charles Martel turned them back in 732 AD at the Battle of Tours. The Venetian Christian fleet turned them back in 1571 at the naval Battle of Lepanto. The Germanic and Polish Knights came to defeat the invading Ottomans in 1683 in Vienna.

However, there was one place where western civilization did not stand when this enemy came to its gates. That place was Constantinople, what was once the seat of the Byzantine Empire, cradle of art and education. It fell in 1453 to the conquering Ottoman Turks, Muslims.

Hence, I found it very interesting that while addressing the Turkish general assembly our dear fearful leader stated that the United States is not a Christian Nation. He further stated that we are not at war with islam.

The hypocrisy would be humorous if not so dire; Barack Hussein Obama surrendered our values to a Nation established upon the destruction of a Christian empire. Furthermore, he failed to understand the countless attacks of Islamic armies on western civilization. The enemy was given a free pass.

And do not portend to lecture me about the Crusades, there had been nearly 400 years of Muslim oppression in the Holy Lands and in Spain before Pope Urban II declared such an expedition circa 1095. Atrocities occurred on both sides, but the impetus for this military action came from the mistreatment of Christian pilgrims. The movie “Kingdom of Heaven” is replete with historical inaccuracies.

Why this history lesson?

“Those who fail to learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat them”.

Here we are in the 21^st century fighting against an enemy, yep, I said enemy, which still maintains a 7^th century ideology. It is a totalitarian, imperialistic system which truly has no roots in religion, just a suitable mask behind which it hides true intention.

We are currently embroiled is an insidious discussion about a psychological intimidation tactic called waterboarding. All the while our men and women have to fight doggedly because this enemy murders, ritually guts, dismembers, and beheads our troops when captured. This is an enemy which targets civilians and holds a belief that the clear way to paradise is to kill those who are not of their belief, non-muslims, kaffirs, infidels.

And yes, I have studied the Koran and the hadiths of Muhammad.

But what is most frightening is that this enemy now has 30-35 training camps right here in our America. This enemy is actively recruiting in our prisons, matter of fact pay attention to how many Islamic centers and mosques are near our federal and state prisons. This is an enemy who by sheer demographics are now out-population us in America. Our birth rate is somewhere around 1.6 while Muslims in America, and indeed worldwide is near 8.1.

Last year right here in Broward County at a pro-Israel rally I witnessed taunts to my Jewish friends of; “Hitler did not finish the job” and “Go back into the ovens”, captured on You Tube. Where were the criminal arrests for hate speech?

We even have a coward Broward County Commission which allowed the Council of America-Islamic Relations (CAIR) to purchase ads placed on busses which stated; “Islam: The Way of Life for Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad”. This was done during the Judeo-Christian holiday season of Thanksgiving, Hanukkah, and Christmas.

All this is occurring and we have a President who states we cannot use the term enemy combatant. He is pledging to send $900M American taxpayer dollars to the Islamic terrorist group Hamas which controls the Gaza strip. He has declared he will shut down the GITMO facility, with no plan. And lastly, as our leader, Barack Hussein Obama has bowed to the King of Saudi Arabia, a well known supporter of promulgating terrorist propaganda, of dispensing radical clerics and imams, and to madrassas and mosques all across the world, and America.

What message does this all convey?

Even this week we saw Pope Benedict exhibit cowardice in the face of this enemy during his trip to the Middle East.

I humbly beseech you to become more aware of this enemy. I implore you to read and study history, read books by Robert Spencer, Dr Andrew Bostom, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Mark Steyn, Walid Phares, and Brigitte Gabriel. View the films Obsession, Fitna, Third Jihad, and Homegrown Jihad.

We must realize that when tolerance becomes a one way street it leads to cultural suicide.

This enemy is not only at our gates, he resides amongst us; infiltrating our cultural, economic, educational, and political systems. We have school districts being sued to take pork products off school lunch menus. We have honor killings occurring in America. We have groups like CAIR, MAS, MPAC, ISNA who are masquerading under a cloak of advocating Muslim rights but have been tied to Islamic terrorist groups.

Are there Muslims in America who love our Country and want to live in peace and enjoy our freedoms, of course. However, their voices remain silent because we have cowardly and unprincipled leadership which is recalcitrant in defining, and holistically confronting, this enemy.

Hon Geert Wilders is a dear friend and I have pledged to him that I will be his counterpart in America. We shall not be as Constantinople and the Byzantines.

Will you join me to preserve the greatest Republic and Constitutional Democracy the world has ever known? Nope, no apologies here!

Lt. Colonel West: How Did We Get to This Point?

Lt. Colonel Allen West has written a searing editorial in the Canada Free Press. This man represents our best hope, our only chance to take back America. So why isn't Michael Steele and GOP  getting behind  West? Take action here.

How did we come to the point where we no longer respect the indomitable American spirit to be resilient and push past this crisis? When did we lose faith in realizing that putting money back into the pockets of the American citizen is the way to restore an ailing economy? When we focus on empowering the American taxpayer, our small businesses, and entrepreneurs then our economy will grow.
Why not simply say we are going to eliminate capital gains, dividend, and death taxes. We should no longer tax social security benefits. We could freeze employer and employee payroll taxes for six months to a year and create wealth for our families. Why not establish a flat tax rate with standard deductions for individuals, corporations, and businesses and provide tax credits to those who stay in America, hire Americans, and produce American goods and services? We need to look towards stimulating investment, innovation, ingenuity, and economic growth… not bloating government and increasing our deficit.
And do not forget, there is no provision for use of e-verify in this stimulus bill, how many of these “shovel ready” jobs will go to illegal immigrants?

How did we come to the point where we do not re-assess our foreign aid spending and perhaps make the cuts there? One place to look is the $925 Million we send to the UN and say, we are cutting back. Why do we not hear anyone in the federal government; President Obama, Sen Harry Reid, Speaker Nancy Pelosi say, “We are going to examine how government can cut back, reduce spending, and shift money to paying off our debts”? Instead we have, at last count (7) seven new government positions called Czars…welcome to the United Socialist States of America.

How did we get to the point where our government is now in ownership of financial institutions? This concerns me because it resembles one of the mandates from the Communist Manifesto, which prescribes for the state to gain control of banks and financial institutions.
How did we get to the point where, a new President would make his first call not to allied leaders but to a Palestinian group leader, Mahmoud Abbas? Where, his first interview was to Al Arabiya and his tone is apologetic and appeasing to the Muslim world.

How did we get to the point where President Obama felt the most important first executive order was to shut down GITMO, cease military tribunals, and seek to offer our precious American constitutional rights to our terrorist enemies? How many families of those who lost their lives on the USS Cole had their hearts ripped out when charges against these murderers were dropped?
How did we get to the point where our Second Amendment constitutional rights are again under attack with a bill, dated 6 Jan 2009, floating around in the US House of Representatives? Be very aware and remain vigilant my fellow Americans.

How did we get to this point? The answer is simple; we grew complacent, apathetic, and lazy. We have now allowed the inmates to run the asylum, speaking of Washington DC. All that should have mattered during the 2008 Presidential election is now starting to matter. We have strayed so far away from our foundational principles of governance and free market capitalism that we are in danger of losing the essence of America.

We have been taken advantage of by a media that was complicit in hiding the truth, and as Goebbels in Nazi Germany, they just kept telling us the “Big Lie”… which then became truth. America is a Republic, meaning there is a limit of power for the government. It means that “We the People” are the stakeholders and that the rule of law must reign supreme. We have separation of powers and should always be on the lookout for consolidation of power. We must reemphasize the preeminence and strict interpretation of our Constitution, the embodiment of the America way of life.

Shall there be a new “tea party”? I say yes, and that is because the American people and not the mindless lemmings, who are dead from the neck up, shall stand and demand their Country back. I know what my purpose is, do you?

How did we get to this point, well, that is evident. The real question is, “How do We the People recommit to our principles, restore our Republic, and regain our American spirit”?

SUPPORT LT COLONEL ALLEN WEST: DEMAND THE LEADERSHIP WE NEED

I am shocked that the GOP has not gotten behind Lt. Colonel Allen West. I ask my readers to support this great American. He gets it. He knows what is happening and what needs to be done. It's not enough to chat amongst ourselves. We must elect officials who see the serious damage being done to the basic foundation of this great nation. We need leadership that understands America, respects the Constitution, believes in small government, and has the testicular fortitude to combat Islamic supremacism and the stealth jihad. Greetings fellow South Florida riders, South Floridians, and Americans, here we are for another monthly installment of our Wheels on the Road political assessment. Just have to tell you, I am freaking mad as hell and implore you all to not take this anymore. If this means I shall be castigated as a “right wing extremist” so be it.

Today I received an email containing a story on the US Department of Homeland Security unclassified report, dated 7 April, titled, “Right-wing extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment”.

Now most of the mainstream media is reporting about a stupid new dog in the White House, Portuguese water dog, who cares.

I have just finished reading Secretary Napolitano’s office declaring that, “the return of military veterans facing significant challenges reintegrating into their communities could lead to the potential emergence of terrorist groups or lone wolf extremists capable of carrying out violent attacks”.

As well, this report cites, “returning veterans possess combat skills and experience that are attractive to right-wing extremists, who will attempt to recruit and radicalize veterans in order to boost their violent capacities”.

Align these statements with Barack Hussein Obama’s intentions to have wounded war veterans use private health insurance and you see the contempt this administration holds for those who protect and defend this Republic. We have an administration which declares we cannot call radical Islamic terrorists “enemy combatants”. We can no longer speak of a war on terror, only overseas contingency operations. However, this administration issues a report demonizing our heroic vets as potential terrorists and extremists!

Perhaps those Navy SEAL snipers should be made aware that they are considered potential terrorists because of the skills they exhibited to save an American citizen. Oh by the way, a citizen held hostage by Muslim pirates, can you say Barbary? Jefferson sent the US Marines, what shall dear fearful leader Obama do?

Back to the report which contains countless references singling out returning war veterans as particular threats.

Not only that, this report admonishes law enforcement to watch out for individuals with “radical” ideologies based on Christian views such as opposing illegal immigration, abortion, and federal taxes. Indeed, this report decries anyone who is concerned about illegal immigration, increasing federal power, restrictions on firearms, abortion, and the loss of US sovereignty. In other words this means anyone holding conservative principles in opposition to left wing liberal socialist policies is a threat.

I am happy to be in that category. I am an American and shall not cower from this insidious accusation, shall you?

“The high volume of volume of purchases and stockpiling of weapons and ammunition by right-wing extremists in anticipation of restrictions and bans in some parts of the country continue to be a primary concern to law enforcement”, this means you, law abiding citizens of America. In the 1930s Adolf Hitler outlawed private gun ownership, and the rest is history.

Shall we live under this type of overt tyranny and become nothing more than economic slaves and subjects? I am angry about the attacks on Americans who work hard and succeed, why not empower us, not create a dependent entitlement class?

This report uses race baiting by suggesting that the election of an African-American president “is proving to be a driving force for right-wing extremist recruitment and radicalization”. No, his asinine socialist economic policies, apologetic and appeasing words about our America, and his cowering to the Islamic world are the cause for our concern.

The fact that in less than 80 days we have seen countless “Czars” being created, $500 billion in government spending, North Korea missile launch, pirate attacks against US shipping, and amateurish actions of our president ranging from inept cabinet selections to abject incompetence (his inability to speak more than 3 minutes without a teleprompter) are the reasons for our angst.

I am also angry at my fellow members of the Republican Party, supposed leadership, who have not exhibited the courage and conviction to stand against this administration. It is appalling to me that the most prevalent voices are those of talk radio hosts. Who are the leaders in the Republican Party?

To them I simply say, “Lead, follow, or get the hell out of the way”. If I must stand alone, so be it, but these crazed liberals shall not suppress our Freedom and Liberty.

Tomorrow is tax day, and there are many “Tea Parties” planned across America. I implore all of you to stand up tomorrow and send a clear message.

Our own government has declared us the enemy; never in my life did I believe this could happen in my Country. How did we get to this point?

There is no doubt that we are now fighting against a fascist regime that seeks to silence our voice. What shall the history books say of us? What shall we leave to our children and grandchildren as a legacy of this Republic? Now is the time to fight back and I encourage all of you to do so, do not be afraid, our forefathers were not.

America is heading towards a tumultuous 2009 and there shall indeed be a Constitutional crisis. I do not care about any “historic moment”. So far this Obama administration has insulted us overseas, called us a “nation of cowards” here at home, and now has declared open war against those who stand in opposition.

We have true enemies who seek to destroy our Country; drug cartels, illegal immigrants, radical Islamic ideologues, Muslim terrorists at sea, and rogue Nations such as North Korea. It seems we can now add our own federal government to that list.

America, it stops here, join me and do not run away intimidated by Obama, Holder, Napolitano, Reid, Pelosi, Frank, Soros, Moveon.org, and ACORN.

Greetings fellow South Florida riders, South Floridians, and Americans, here we are for another monthly installment of our Wheels on the Road political assessment. It is hard to believe how fast a month flies by but it seems that we have been under the Obama administration for years; perhaps it is the everyday speeches.

I hate speeches.

I pride myself in being a person of calm demeanor, unless of course you are Attorney General Eric Holder and you call my America a “nation of cowards”. So as I begin this month’s article I find myself on the verge of total rage which is great for writing.

In these first 60 days of the Obama administration I am beginning to have concern over issues of national security. There have been some very disturbing trends which I will share in this month’s column.

It first started right after the coronation; I mean inauguration, with the first phone call going to Mahmoud Abbas. Last time I checked the leader of the displaced Arab nomad group in the West Bank called Fatah was not a National leader, or ally. Considering all the other key allies who have stood by the United States, why was this gentleman first for a new President to call?

Next came the series of executive orders which commanded we shut down Guantanamo Bay (GITMO) detention facility, stop any harsh treatment of terrorists, and ceased any ongoing military trials against those being held. Now just recently we have heard from the infamous GITMO 5 who have claimed they take utmost pride in what they have accomplished to include the atrocities of 9-11.

We know that some 60 released detainees went right back to the battlefield to include several who are now leaders in Yemen and Afghanistan. Some would say this recidivism rate is low, however, not when you are the US man or woman in uniform overseas fighting.

As of 13 March we have been instructed by this administration that we can no longer call these fellas “enemy combatants”. Hmm, lets see, how about we call them “Friendly Frustrated Freedom Fighters”? I am certain we should consult Dr Phil for a proper means to address these cheeky fellows without damaging their self-esteem.

New Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano recently stated in an interview that she found using the term terrorism nuanced. She preferred using the term “man created disasters”. Well, Secretary Napolitano, if there is another “man created disaster” perpetrated by “Friendly Frustrated Freedom Fighters” Americans not take that too kindly.

Does an IED fall into the category of a “man created disaster”?

Soon after the series of executive orders focusing on GITMO the President gave his first TV interview, with Al Arabiya. During that interview he remarked about a return to better relations with the Muslim world, like 30 years ago. Perhaps the President did not realize that in Iran they have been celebrating the 30 year anniversary of the Islamic revolution.

I remember that being a very sad and embarrassing episode in American history, can you say Embassy hostages?

At a time when we are having serious economic issues the American taxpayers are now sending $900 Million to the Gaza Strip for rebuilding. The “political” entity controlling Gaza is called Hamas, and they are a “Friendly Frustrated Freedom Fighter” organization. I can certainly bet that the only thing being rebuilt will be tunnels from Egypt into Gaza.

Along with that piece of change, is, by executive order, $20.3 Million going to resettle pro-Hamas Palestinians to the USA…..did anyone ask the American people about this?

First planned foreign country visit? Turkey, where “Friendly Frustrated Freedom Fighter” ideology is taking root (I call it radical Islamic ideology, but don’t tell anyone, I could be arrested for hate speech).

So far the President’s only visit to a US military installation was to Camp Lejeune NC, home of the US Marine II Expeditionary Force, a place where I spent three great years. The purpose was to announce his plan for withdrawal from Iraq.

Could you imagine Alexander the Great telling his Macedonians, “well guys, that whole bit about conquering the world, I was just kidding, let’s go home”. Warriors want to be inspired.

President Obama and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi have both referred to our ICE agents as terrorizing Hispanics and being un-American. That should really inspire them to protect us against illegal immigrants.

Ok, you are asking so what? Well, this is the so what, President Obama has decided that our wounded warriors and others with service related injuries will have to use private insurance. AFLAC does not send our men and women into harm’s way to defend our way of life, the Constitution mandates the government do so.

The so what is that why are we placating and appeasing the enemy while abandoning those who stay on the wall protecting our America? That has me fuming and truly concerned about the loyalties of this President.

Nero fiddled while Rome burned; our President Barack Hussein Obama has Wednesday evening parties in the White House.

LTC(R) Allen B West

Last week I attended the Conservative Political Action Committee (CPAC) annual meeting in Washington DC. It was my second opportunity to attend this great event. This year the attendance hit an all time high of nearly 9000, and again seeing so many young people generates an astounding energy.

Being a former active duty Army officer of some 22 years service we are taught a very important lesson, self-assessment. After the completion of any operation, especially in combat, you conduct an after action review (AAR) in order to objectively develop lessons learned for improvement.

With that being said, I would like to offer my assessment from CPAC.

A week after the completion of CPAC who are we speaking of as conservative leaders? So far I have seen two persons making several appearances and dominating the news; 13 year old Jonathan Krohn and Rush Limbaugh.

I will admit, the young man from my hometown of Atlanta is a conservative phenomenon and certainly a future voice. As well, there is no doubt that Rush Limbaugh is an ideological giant of conservatism in America at this time. However, neither of these fine Gents shall be seeking political office and developing legislation to fight against the liberal socialist agenda.

What was needed coming out of CPAC is a definitive conservative political leader who will, much as Speaker Gingrich, begin to pull together our philosophy and be the voice in opposition to Pelosi, Reid, and yes, President Obama. We must have a Leonidas who will stand in the gap for our Republic as its foundational fabric is under attack.

In the same light, everyone attending CPAC, sponsored by the American Conservative Union, should have departed with an action plan; we call it a CONPLAN (concept plan) in the military. This simple document would serve as a means to bring conservatives on a common azimuth to understand our principles and how they relate to prominent current issues; the economy, fight against radical Islamic ideology, energy independence, illegal immigration, and our Constitutional rights.

The left came together based upon Alinsky’s “Rules for Radicals”, a book we should all read, and we must therefore also unify our thoughts.

Conservatives must focus, never forget the maxim of “divide and conquer”, which is being used against us to dilute and divert our efforts, and attention. There is so much dangerous legislation being enacted, as well as executive orders, which are taking us down the path of tyrannical socialism. See the matador, and not chase the pretty red cape, and with a leader, concept plan, and focused followers we can achieve that end..

There is a reason why the left is attacking Rush.

We must stop using the tactic of frontal assault and employ other means of political maneuver; infiltration, penetration, or even turning movements. We have to learn to attack the liberal left not on their terms but by exploiting weaknesses and focusing efforts against that opening. No one wins on defense, I say attack them, and CPAC gave us a fantastic opportunity to develop that attack plan and disseminate it.

Very well, enough of pointing out my assessments, what are the solutions?

We must look to the mid-term elections of 2010 and that is the immediate objective. We cannot afford to lose any more seats, but that is playing defense. We need to go on the offense and target 40-45 seats in the House Congressional races. Congress is where the dogfight is, and defeating Speaker Pelosi is vital.

This is where our new Chairman Michael Steele, the State GOP Chairmen, and NRCC are vital. Send up their recommendations for review and approval, conduct an objective assessment board, conduct candidate interviews, and select those who will present the best image and deliver the conservative message.

And I did say, conservative message, no more talk about moderate, middle of the road Republicans. Only thing in the middle of the road is road kill, which is what happened in 2006 and 2008.

Lastly, out of that 40-45 candidates, we then need to train a “Dirty Dozen” who will be the best of the best and will lead the fight. We should take someone like Congressman Mike Pence who will, such as Lee Marvin, be responsible to groom this group and present them all over the Country as the future conservative legislators of the Republican Party.

Next years CPAC should feature this vanguard 12 men and women who will our conservative standard bearers and we must promote them in the media.

If in 4 years the left wing liberals could take an empty suit charlatan from giving a speech to the White House…we as conservatives can do better, much better.

First, we shall focus on Victory in 2010’s mid-term elections and begin to recommit to our principles and values, restore our Republic, and reclaim American pride!

Greetings readers, I have held my peace long enough to allow Attorney General Eric Holder an opportunity to rectify his faux pas from last week. I am now compelled to offer my insights into Attorney General Holder’s epidemic of diarrhea of the mouth when he called our Country a “Nation of Cowards”.

Whenever I think of fools speaking unwisely I am drawn to the writings of one who is considered the wisest man the world has ever known, not you Bill Clinton. Rather, I speak of King Solomon and his words from the Book of Proverbs.

Solomon certainly has some advice which Eric Holder may wish to take to heart. I shall use The Soldiers New Testament with Psalms and Proverbs, Holman Christian Standard Bible

Proverbs 15:7 “The lips of the wise broadcast knowledge, but not so the heart of fools”

Proverbs 15:14 “The discerning mind seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feed on foolishness”

For Eric Holder to castigate our America as a “nation of cowards”, being someone who has capitalized on every opportunity this Country could afford, is pure foolishness. It also represents a malicious narcissism and hypocrisy from someone purported to be of great education.

I am a West Man, third of four generations of military servicemen; Dad World War II combat wounded veteran, older Brother Vietnam Marine combat wounded veteran, my serving 22 years active duty in 13 different countries and three combat zones, and my young nephew, Captain Herman Bernard West, commanding an artillery unit serving his second tour in Afghanistan. We are proud American black Men who certainly are not indicative of a “nation of cowards”. Holder’s comments are offensive to the legacy my Dad established for our family.

Perhaps also Attorney General Holder forgot about the many white Americans, and Jewish persons, who marched during the civil rights movement, some cowards huh?

Attorney General Holder, do not ever refer to my Country with such manner of disrespect. I have stood with Americans in many foreign lands, seen them everyday across this Nation, and we are not cowards!

Attorney General Holder has certainly lost respect as the enforcer of our Nation’s laws. It would have bided him best to have kept his comment to himself, even though it must be in his heart. It has to be evident to the American people that this person cannot be trusted to protect a County which he holds in such disdain.

What could have persuaded Holder to make such an insidious comment and believe he would not be challenged? And anyone defending his comment or ignoring it is complicit in this terrible offense against our great Nation.

If Holder had any honor, which I doubt, he would have apologized. Since an apology seems to not be an option, Attorney General Holder MUST resign.

 If Holder does not resign then President Obama MUST dismiss Eric Holder from his Cabinet, or perhaps Obama and his cabinet hold the same contempt for America?

My recommendation to Holder is to stay away from places where we cowards congregate; military bases, NASCAR races, around law enforcement officers, first responders, Southeast Conference college football and basketball games, Boy Scout meetings, biker bars, VFW and American Legion Posts, youth soccer games, anywhere true Americans exist.

Remain in those places where the bravest victims in America exist; your office, the White House, Ivy League schools, Hollywood, NAACP offices, Oprah Winfrey Show, and MSNBC. Cowardice is voting for an inexperienced usurper and charlatan just because he is black, do not be confused.

Yes, I am angry and therefore Attorney General Eric Holder you have earned a lifetime membership in The Phallus Cranium Club.

Sir, you are not there alone, Speaker Pelosi, Barney Frank, and Rod Blagojevich are members, and Congressman Clyburn of South Carolina membership is being processed as well.

Fellow South Florida riders, greetings and it is time again to have our monthly analysis and assessment of developments out of our Nation's capitol. We are still under one month in our new Obama administration and we have much to discuss. This past Saturday we had a rally to kickoff our 2010 Congressional campaign and I spoke using a simple theme, "How did we get to this point"? I would like to use that theme for this month's piece.

How did we get to the point where we are told that "only government" can remedy our current economic situation. Last time I checked it was government that placed us in this situation. When government made the fateful decision that everyone in America was entitled to own a home this terrible crisis was born.

Home ownership is a privilege, not a right, however those in Washington brought forth legislation which lowered standards for mortgage lending. It also pressured financial institutions that tried to maintain appropriate lending standards and levied fines against them for non-compliance. When government places entitlement over empowerment you will head down the raod to perdition, which is where we find our America heading.

Now we face another economic stimulus plan, first was the Troubled Asset Recovery Plan (TARP) aka bailout, which truly is nothing more than a big government spending spree. More government is not the answer to our financial woes, the answer lies with the American taxpayer. President Obama continues a fear mongering tactic to get us to believe that this plan is what is needed. A recent Congressional Budget Office analysis, and many top economists, stated that we could do nothing and be better off than with this plan.

How did we come to the point where we no longer respect the indomitable American spirit to be resilient and push past this crisis. When did we lose faith in realizing that putting money back into the pockets of the American citizen is the way to restore an ailing economy? When we focus on empowering the American taxpayer, our small businesses, and entrepreneurs then our economy will grow.

Why not simply say we are going to eliminate capital gains, dividend, and death taxes. We should no longer tax social security benefits. We could freeze employer and employee payroll taxes for six months to a year and create wealth for our families. Why not establish a flat tax rate with standard deductions for individuals, corporations, and businesses and provide tax credits to those who stay in America, hire Americans, and produce American goods and services. We need to look towards stimulating investment, innovation, ingenuity, and economic growth.....not bloating government and increasing our deficit.

And do not forget, there is no provision for use of e-verify in this stimulus bill, how many of these "shovel ready" jobs will go to illegal immigrants?

How did we come to the point where we do not assess our foreign aid spending and make the cuts there? We should look at the $925 Million we send to the UN and say, we are cutting back. Why do we not hear anyone in the federal government, President Obama, Sen Harry Reid, Speaker Nancy Pelosi say, "We are going to examine how government can cut back, reduce spending, and shift money to paying off our debts"? Instead we have, at last count (7) new government positions called Czars...welcome to the United Socialist States of America.

How did we get to the point where our government is now owning financial institutions? I am concerned about that because one of the mandates from the Communist Manifesto is for the state to gain control of banks and financial institutions.

How did we get to the point where a new President would make his first call not to allied leaders but to a Palestinian group leader, Mahmoud Abbas? Where his first interview was to Al Arabiya and his tone was apologetic and appeasing to the muslim world.

How did we get to the point where President Obama felt the most important first executive order was to shut down GITMO, cease military tribunals, and seek to offer our precious American constitutional rights to our terrorist enemies. How many families of those who lost their lives on the USS Cole had their hearts ripped out when charges against these murderers were dropped?

How did we get to the point where our Second Amendment constitutional rights are again under attack with a bill dated 6 Jan 2009 floating around in the US House of Representatives? Be very aware and remain vigilant my fellow Americans.

How did we get to this point? The answer is simple, we grew complacent, apathetic, and lazy. We have now allowed the inmates to run the asylum, speaking of Washington DC. All that should have mattered during the 2008 Presidential election is now starting to matter. We have strayed so far away from our foundational principles of governance and free market capitalism that we are in danger of losing the essence of America.

We have been taken advantage of by a media that was complicit in hiding the truth, and as Goebbels in Nazi Germany, they just kept telling us the "Big Lie"...which then become truth. America is a Republic which means there is a limit of power for the government. It means that "We the People" are the stakeholders and that the rule of law must reign supreme. We have separation of powers and should always on the lookout for consolidation of power. We must reemphasize the preeminence and strict interpretation of our Constitution, the embodiment of the America way of life.

Shall there be a new "tea party"? I say yes, because the American people, not the mindless lemmings who are dead from the neck up, shall stand and demand their Country back. I know what my purpose is, do you?

How did we get to this point, well, that is evident. The real question is "How do We the People recommit to our principles, restore our Republic, and regain our American spirit"?

Lt. Col. Allen West was the keynote speaker on the occasion of The Lincoln Bicentennial Dinner. This is the official Bicentennial event of New York, endorsed by the US Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Commission (ALBC) to celebrate the 200th birthday of one of our greatest presidents. The Dinner Celebration honored American Patriot and War Hero LTC Allen West with the Lincoln Bicentennial Award, presented by Jed Babbin, Editor, Human Events.

This will be the premier Conservative national launch for 2010; the ‘kick off' and return of the Republican Party to the core Conservative values of Lincoln.

Part II - Watch it all - this is leadership. The recipient of the Lincoln Bicentennial Award, Decorated War Hero Lt. Col. Allen West delivered the keynote address of the dinner. He ran for Congress in Florida, winning 45% of the vote, and has been lauded as one of the great black conservative voices in America today -- and as new RNC Chairman Michael Steele put it, he is “a great man with the stature of Abe Lincoln.”

Mayor Michael Bloomberg was in attendance to honor the winners of the Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Essay Contest. This non-partisan event, sponsored by the historic Queens Village Republican Club, the oldest in America, featured an award ceremony for the winners of the competition involving schools throughout New York City. The winning students were awarded $500 savings bonds, with their entire families and teachers in attendance.

I did thank Mayor Bloomberg for taking a stand for Geert Wilders. I have had my issues with Bloomberg but credit where credit is due. He was the first and only US politician to come out publicly and support Geert Wilders in his battle for free speech.

Along with the Mayor, Assemblywoman Barbara Clark (D-Queens Village), Senator Frank Padavan (R-Bellerose), Councilman Leroy Comrie (D-Jamaica) and other public officials presented the honors. Glen Oaks Village Owners Corp. and their president Robert Friedrich, and Dr. Dolores M. Fernandez, president of Hostos Community College, have provided generous funds for the students.

Republican candidates and elected officials - it's a tough gig, running in a one party state controlled by the Democrat corrupt political machine.

The competition had students researching and writing essays on the topic: “What Does the Life and Legacy of Abraham Lincoln Mean to Me?”

The Educator of the Year award went to New York’s most distinguished education reformer, Hon. Herman Badillo, who was the first Puerto Rican to be elected to Congress and to the office of Bronx Borough President. Badillo's wife was taken ill, so he he could not be there to receive his award.

Andrew Bostom sent me this incredible letter  that ran here from Allen West on the Wilders prosecution. While President Hussein is busy giving interviews to Al Arabiya and saying nothing about this crushing  blow to freedom of speech, West articulates the American position brilliantly.

I recently read of the travails of my fellow IFPS board member Geert Wilders. A day later my attention was drawn to President Barack Hussein Obama signing an executive order to shut down operations at the Guantanamo detention facility.

The irony struck me that here we have the new President seeking to extend US Constitutional protections to Islamic terrorists, the enemy. We plan to provide them legal rights under the equal protection clause. Yet in Holland, a fellow democracy, the government is ordering the criminal prosecution of an elected representative for exercising one of the Western world’s most precious freedoms, freedom of speech; and in this case, freedom of speech to discuss the jihadist ideology of the enemy.

What is happening in Western civilization? Have we become so enamored with this illness called multiculturalism that we are embarrassed to honor and defend our own cultural principles? Can nothing be more shocking than to charge a member of the Dutch Parliament with “hate speech” for speaking the truth?

This reminds me of the seminal scene from the movie A Few Good Men. “I want the truth,” one of the character says. And the response was: “You can’t handle the truth.” I am starting to believe that we–actually our elected officials–are not leaders, and cannot handle the truth. The truth is that an enemy does exist and that this enemy lives amongst us, and hates us. The truth is that our insidious policies of open immigration and multiculturalism are now ushering in our demise and promoting the deconstruction of our Western civilizational values, freedom of conscience, and the freedom to express our thoughts.

The truth as I see is that we no longer have men in Western governments who are willing to defend our way of life. I find this prosecution of Geert Wilders to be an example of abject cowardice. How can it be that Islam has become such an intimidating religion that men cower away? And I address “men” because I have found more often that women are taking a stand and condemning this modern-day totalitarian, imperialistic radical ideology mired in antiquated 7th century concepts.

Islam as a religion elevates and follows a man who was nothing more than a psychopath, murderous warlord, and by modern-day standards a sexual deviant and pedophile. Islam as a political entity is based upon complete submission and seeks only to subjugate and suppress every freedom we cherish in western civilization. Until Islam undergoes a reformative process bringing it into alignment with the rest of the world, then I shall reject it, and stand against it. The converse I find reprehensible; to convert, be subjugated, or die, which are the Koranic options given to me, a non-Muslim.

I will gladly peacefully coexist with Islam. Can the same be said in reverse? And do not tell me about the Koranic verse stating, “there is no compulsion in religion,” because I understand the theory of naskh or abrogation. That means that the later verses of the Koran supercede previous verses. As a result, most violent verses in the Koran abrogate previous “peaceful” writings.

Have I just committed hate speech? No, it is the truth according to the Koran and the Hadiths, and I have no fear in stating such. I will not allow Western civilization nor America to be paralyzed by soft or hard jihad, by legal tactics, nor kinetic attacks. I pledge to fight, not for myself, but for others, for our future and legacy which we leave our children and grandchildren. Any man that cannot find the courage to do so as well, especially leaders in western civilization, I call a coward.

Geert, stand resolute, my comrade. You will win this fight, and we shall defeat this third jihad and incursion to defeat our way of life. All who read this post never forget a simple maxim which I live by: “When tolerance becomes a one way street, it leads to cultural suicide”. Count on Lieutenant Colonel Allen B West to stand and fight against this enemy, radical Islamic terrorism and their state sponsors anywhere, anytime.

WASHINGTON —  While former Vietnam POW John McCain campaigns for the Republican presidential nomination in Florida, another retired veteran is counting on his military experience to catapult him to victory in the Sunshine State.

Retired Army Col. Allen West is campaigning in Florida's 22nd U.S. Congressional District, hoping to unseat freshman Democratic Rep. Ron Klein, who toppled 26-year Republican incumbent Clay Shaw in a contentious battle in 2006.

The well-funded and very politically active Klein is not about to give up his seat easily, but West is banking on his notoriety as much as his military experience to make his case.

West, 46, cuts an intriguing figure. He is a war hero to his supporters, but his opponents see him as a symbol of a war gone wrong.

West commanded the 2nd Battalion, 20th Field Artillery, Fourth Infantry Division in Iraq, then spent two years as a private contractor helping to train the Afghan army.

He's not only up on military and national security issues, but he has worked briefly as a teacher in the Palm Beach/Broward County area public schools.

"Allen is one of the most compelling figures I've ever worked with," said Donna Brosemer, an unpaid campaign strategist and spokeswoman for West. "He's a non-traditional candidate at a time when the public is sick of traditional candidates."

Colonel West on Bhutto

I asked the  Colonel  from Kandahar, Allen B. West, Atlas  war time correspondent and my candidate for Florida's next congressman , for his thoughts on the Bhutto murder. He spent the last couple of years in that part of the world serving the war effort. Who better to examine events on the ground than the Colonel? West represents the best, the very best hope for America. We need this man in government. 

BTW, the Colonel will be joining me on my show, Atlas on the Air, January 7th 3pm.

Here now, his remarks:

The assassination of former Pakistan Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto evidences who is really in command in Pakistan:  Islamic terrorists and their ideology.  Pervez Musharref has done nothing to promote civil liberties, constitutional order or rule of law in Pakistan. He is a despotic ruler who has been playing the Roman god Janus with the US, and indeed the world. Pakistan has received billions in US foreign aid in money and weapons support, but none of it has gone to fight against Islamic terrorism. It has been stockpiled to fight against their traditional enemy, the world's largest democratic state, India.

When Musharref ordered the withdrawal of Pakistani troops from Waziristan it allowed the establishment of a new terrorist sanctuary, a self-proclaimed "Talibanistan".  The standoff at the Red Mosque earlier this month allowed us to see what happens when the radical islamists attempt to extend their ideology beyond the declared walls of sanctuary.

Benazir Bhutto knew the day she landed she was a marked woman, but her courage should embolden us to accept reality. That reality is that we face a barbaric and committed enemy which has no regard for liberty and freedoms, only their warped and insane 7th century vision of an antiquated totalitarian, imperialistic ideology. The best way to give tribute to Benazir Bhutto is to commit, as she did, to eradicate Islamic terrorism, the mysticism which holds hostage those who seek to step out of darkness, and into the light of individual freedom, not collective religious slavery.

There can be no doubt that Pervez Musharref and the Pakistan ISI allowed these continuous attacks to take place against Bhutto, until the enemies of our world were successful.

If our world leadership is serious, they will abandon the empty rhetoric of "strong condemnation" and begin to cut off aid to Pakistan and Musharref. We will begin to regulate the visas granted to Pakistan and revoke student visas. We will look to shut down our embassies. And lastly we will not allow the terrorist enemy sanctuary, wherever he seeks to find it, and that includes cross-border strike operations. These measures are not against the people of Pakistan who desire rule of law, civil liberties, and freedom. It is meant to place pressure and responsibility to enact a change. These measures would be meant to set conditions for those seeking reform to enact such, and restore honor and dignity to Pakistan.

Musharref is not an ally.  He is a despotic user. Having been in southern Afghanistan,  I know of the Chechnyans, Saudis, Yemenis, Uzbeks, Pakistanis, Somalis, and other Arabs who are captured in Afghanistan....and they have come from across the border in Pakistan. We all know that during the winter months many of the Taliban return to Waziristan to refit and retrain, preparing for the next spring campaign season. We know that the stories of Pakistan ‘capturing' Taliban are just a hoax; in actuality they round up many Talibs who refuse to return to Afghanistan to fight.

Bhutto sacrificed her life to inspire all of us to stop "playing war" with this enemy, and face the truth that they are determined to enslave us all, and no one is safe from their maniacal desires. In particular, western female political leaders should be enraged at the loss of a promising voice. Our response to this tragedy must resound clearly, and not be a typical sound bite.  We have to stand together as a free world.

We must declare the enemy to be Islamic terrorism (Al Qaeda, Taliban, Hezbollah, Hamas, Muslim Brotherhood, Islamic Jihad, Al Aqsa Brigade, Al Quds Brigade, Iranian Republican Guards, Abu Sayyaf, Jemaat al Islamiah) and the state sponsors who provide them sanctuary and support:  Iran, Saudi Arabia, Syria, Egypt, Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, Libya, and Pakistan.

It is quite simple.  Strategically we must:

Deny this enemy sanctuary,
Interdict his support (men, materiel, and money),
Isolate him,
Contain the promulgation of his ideology, and lastly
Disrupt his operations worldwide.

This is not Bush's War.  It is not a war in Iraq.  It is a world war, an ideological struggle which cannot simply find a solution in appeasement, compromise, or negotiation. It takes bullets and words, the ability to know when to use each, and the willingness to do so.

Let not Benazir Bhutto’s death be in vain.

"The Global Jihad and its Ramifications for America"

August has been incredibly busy; hard to believe it truly flew past. This month we have been conducting a series of Afghan staff seminars on various organizational and operational planning topics. We received a new Afghan Army Regional Corps Commander and Chief of Staff; therefore it is important to re-emphasize some of the key points that enhance staff effectiveness. This comes at a critical time when we are about two weeks from entering the Muslim period of Ramadan (Ramazon in Afghanistan). As this global period is about to begin, I considered what this means to our enemy, as it is the prime time for a mujahideen to claim shaheed, or most revered, status.  

So what does this "global jihad" really mean for America, as we are its main target?  

This past week at a Veterans of Foreign Wars conference Pres Bush drew parallels between Vietnam and Iraq. I would like to add another point, which is Vietnam was a regional conflict but its long term meaning still resonates with our adversaries. It displayed a weakness our current enemy seeks to exploit. Vietnam also evidenced a willingness by our country to abandon allies when   confronted by a lesser but determined enemy---not to mention the effect of the media in our country.  

Vietnam affected our credibility as a nation, and our actions in Lebanon and Somalia reinforced the perception of only being a "paper tiger" to those who wage the global jihad. Vietnam resulted in a regional loss, but this time we face a far more dangerous enemy and a loss has far greater implications.  

This global jihad exploits our open borders and it does not take a genius to realize that this is a terrible gamble. It has become too simple to infiltrate the US from our porous borders, and as the Ft Dix incident showed us, we are walking a fine line.  The enemy now certainly feels a strong domestic event will bring America to its knees, and he will not be deterred if we don't take action. Once that occurs, we will find ourselves isolated from allies who will then be taken piecemeal until there is submission.  

This global jihad is heavily linked to one drug source, heroin, here in Afghanistan, while it is making incursions to develop better associations with others in South America and the narco-state of Mexico. It is plainly obvious that drug proliferation is a large funding source for terrorist groups, as well as a detriment to America.

The global jihad has penetrated our American cultural, educational, financial, and political systems in an attempt to desensitize us under the mantra of "multiculturalism". Our own constitutional rights are being used against us to foment hate and dissent right under our noses. Consistently we see subtle challenges to our rule of law seeking to create a gap of exploitation by which Sharia could be further promulgated. Our Middle Eastern studies programs in universities all across America are infested with those who openly speak against our republic. This was not the original intention of these educational programs. Even the attempt to open an American taxpayer funded Islamic school has to give one concern.

The financial and political impact in America of Saudi money is far-reaching. The energy bill recently passed by Congress did nothing to strengthen America's energy independence.  We must cut the ties to the Middle East. As long as the petrodollars roll in, Wahabbism/Salafism will be exported out, and to our shores.

I could speak for days about the number of state sponsors of terrorism, about Iran and their alliances so close to our sovereign nation. Again, this global jihad makes its intentions very clear.   It is up to us to make a stand and turn it back, such as Charles Martel did in 748 AD at Tours and at Vienna in 1683.

Lastly, let us not forget the enemy who lurks in waiting—China---for that opportunity of weakness. China learned a very important lesson from the collapse of the Soviet Union:  beat America economically first. Our own greed for cheap labor and cheap goods has created a "free trade" nightmare resulting in a 20-25% GDP spending of China on its military, primarily its navy. Couple that with their owning the operations of the Panama Canal, global ventures into Africa, and desire to drill oil off the coast of Florida, and you have a recipe for hegemonic dominance. This global jihad is enabling them to make their move possibly without challenge---strange bedfellows indeed.  

Solutions?

• Secure our borders and enforce the laws of the land on illegal immigration.
• Make the hard calls on repairing our economy--- cut taxes and curtail spending.
• Reevaluate foreign aid spending and bring the American taxpayer funds back to the people.
• Return social security to what it was intended to be:   non-taxable, part of an independent trust fund, and give options to future generations.
• Seek out our true energy independence; we have to wave goodbye to the Middle East and not be held hostage to a resource we possess in abundance.
• Strike back hard at Islamic terrorist organizations in their sanctuaries--- enemy-oriented, not terrain-oriented (as we are doing now), disrupting, interdicting, and isolating them and their support.
• We must end the revisionist education theory and develop pride and skills in our young people. This is about our future.

Friends, there is much to be done, but that is why we are Americans!

Our man on the front lines  in Kandahar, Lt. Colonel Allen West calls the liberals out in this exclusive column for Atlas. As you know, The Colonel is running for Congress. I support him unequivocally. Let's start electing some legislators like him, who love this country and who want to serve the interests of American citizens.

Why Liberals Will Not Confront the Enemy But Will Condemn Their Own

The real issue is simple: If Liberals admit there is a problem, they could be called upon to act. Liberals are blinded by the fear of action. They rest their hope upon the "reason" and "benevolence" of an enemy, an enemy who would slit their collective throats. Truly if they could understand, this adversary finds their existence useful but abhorrent---useful in that this enemy will support liberals’ quest for power through their propagandist efforts; abhorrent in that liberals only seem weak and cowardly, which is detestable in these parts. 

Liberals seek to destroy any institution of intrinsic value: God, country, family, honor, valor, courage, VIRTUE……Why?  Because if such things exist, then they must be defended, which brings them back to their fear of action.

If foundations of a society capture the essence of a State---patriotism, faith--- they must be honored and defended, but this not a raison d'etre for a Liberal. That is why movies like "The Da Vinci Code" are so important to them, and the "Passion of the Christ" was so threatening……Why believe or fight for this thing called Christianity if it is based upon lies and deceit?  If it is, then it does not need to be defended.  Christianity becomes a target for them to be destroyed and in its place can be created a completely secular state, with no faith to hold dear to ones’ heart. 

Legislation that permits the desecration of the American flag serves the same purpose, to destroy a symbol which, if honored, requires defense. 

No, do not expect Liberals to analyze Islam and Mohammed.  That requires action, which leads to fear, which leads to inaction. So do not ever expect the media to confront Islam and the problems of radical Islamic Fascism, theocracies/autocracies, and terrorism. It is far easier for Liberals to denounce our Judeo-Christian faith than to confront the truth that faces us all: that Islam is a religion of subjugation, submission and intimidation, whose teachings defend terrorism.

It is far simpler and easier for Liberals to say that Christians are terrorists, President Bush is a Nazi, Jesus Christ does not exist, and the defenders of their rights are "murderers".  That way, they can hide behind free speech, a right provided by those who embody the very character traits and virtues which Liberals seek to destroy. 

This concept is both puzzling and intriguing.   Liberals hate those who defend them because they are afraid to be them.  In doing so, they turn a blind eye to, and even celebrate, those who would destroy them because Liberals are afraid to confront them. In the long term, who really has the most to lose in this War on Terror? Liberals do, because we who defend them will never hate them.  We will only pity them, while the Islamic fascist, theocrat/autocrat, and terrorist will slaughter them and take away any of the "rights" they have enjoyed.

It concerns me to hear that UK Prime Minister Brown chastised people to not use Muslim and terrorism in the same sentence. We cannot become so paralyzed by fear and political correctness that we betray our own societal values. It was, after all, a great American president who reminded us that "the only thing we have to fear is fear itself". I implore my fellow Americans of the liberal ideology to take counsel of their fears but not let fear be their guide. This enemy is far too dangerous and is already preparing their next generation to hate and fight us, regardless of—and even because of-- your appeasement and acquiescence.

Courage is about recognizing your fear, but overcoming it to focus on the greater good.

The Spartan alliance with the Persians gave them victory over Athens in the Peloponnesian War, but it also led to the downfall and destruction of what was Greece, never to exist again in the grandness it had achieved. Not even 50 years earlier, the Spartans had stood at Thermopylae against same Persian foe, and a famous epithet was erected to those warriors. Years later, they had forgotten they were Greeks; selfish greed led them to a fateful decision and alliance that cost them their entire civilization.

Here in the 21st century, we risk forgetting that we are Americans. If we have a society we want to keep, we are required to protect and defend it.  We are required to act.

Waging Holistic War LTC (Ret.) Allen B. West

Greetings to all from the very hot sands of Kandahar, Afghanistan, where this past week the temperatures hit at or just above 123 degrees, and we still have July and August ahead of us. It was two years ago this day that I boarded a plane departing Ft Lauderdale, Florida for Afghanistan. It was different deploying this time because there was no “unit”-- just me. However, one thing remained a constant:  I was deploying, leaving my family, in service to America, and to another group of people I have never met, the people of Afghanistan.

Last month, I was home for my final leave from Afghanistan, and some of you may know that I officially declared my candidacy for Florida US Congressional District 22 (Palm Beach and Broward Counties). I had a wonderful phone interview with Atlas in my final week before returning to Kandahar. If you will indulge me, I would like to address some of the key issues I see for us as America.

While home I recognized two very interesting phenomena.  First, we are not examining things in a holistic manner. Second, there is very little long term vision expressed by our elected officials for America; it seems everything is short-term focused based upon their immediate concern--reelection.

Let us look at the first assertion.  We say that we are involved in a “Global War on Terror”, and there are even those who call it a “so-called” war. I can attest that when you are on the receiving end of an AK-47, RPG, or rocket, it is not “so called”. However, my point is that we are very myopic in the prosecution of this current conflagration, which leads to myopic solutions. All I heard while home was War in Iraq, War in Afghanistan. I submit to you that we should view Iraq and Afghanistan as theaters of operations in an overall conflict.

We fail to realize, actually visualize, the greater sphere of this conflict which in turn restricts our utilization of all elements of national power and ability to, as I like to say, “peel back the adversary’s onion”.

We must begin to use our diplomatic pressure to isolate states that fund, recruit, train, and equip terrorist activities, and I do not mean negotiation or compromise. We have to isolate them through sanctions and cutting off their foreign investment capacity. Some of this is happening; recently Florida Governor Charlie Crist signed into law a measure to ensure Florida divests from any fund that promotes economic growth for states that sponsor terror.

Next we must use the power of global information systems to contain the vile ideology that is being promulgated throughout the world. If we truly understood the source in this war we would realize the power of the imams, clerics, and mullahs. These are the men, much as in the early Catholic Church, who fear losing power and influence. A focused national propaganda campaign is needed to combat their influence globally, as well as that of terrorist groups using the internet and other mediums. Simply stated, we are losing the information war, globally and domestically.

Economically, we must interdict the financial resourcing to terrorist groups, and if another NY Times “smart guy” decides to leak information relating to programs doing such, he should have two choices: Al Anbar or Uruzgan Province for a year. We need to in essence “dry up the pool” in which our terrorist friends seek to swim. Sure, the whole “virgin paradise” thing is enticing, but nothing gets started without money.

We must reevaluate our foreign aid spending because I would almost guarantee that the people in some of these countries never see this aid. However, despotic rulers use it to parlay their control, and sometimes that means placating terrorist groups who maintain sanctuary within their sovereign borders. I can think of one country just about 70 miles south of me here. Seek the accounts and freeze them, confiscate the funds and preclude the enemy from being able to get top-of-the-line weaponry and training facilities.

And this also means conveying to other countries that enabling states that sponsor terrorism will not be tolerated.

When the Soviet Union fell, it was as a result of pressure from all sides:  diplomatic, information, military and economic.  Right now, we are not using all the tools available to us and until we do, we will not effectively put an end to the forces that intend to destroy us.

So as we enter the crucial 2008-election season, listen for those who articulate a holistic approach and a vision for America. Let’s get America back into the hands of Americans, and not special interests, foreign or domestic.

West and his wife, Angela, a financial planner, have been married 17 years. They have two daughters, Aubrey, 14, and Austen, 10.

Another Country Heard from

The Colonel from Kandahar. Can I vote for this guy?

1. The continued fear by the enemy of the Afghan people having a future based upon education, which leads to opportunity and advancement. Again, these Mad Mullahs will lose power, no different than in 1517 when Luther empowered us and threatened the stranglehold of the Catholic church.

2. Last night, I read a Congressional blog from Democrat freshman Representative who addressed casualties as a reason to disengage from Iraq. We all know that we have lost 3000 of our Comrades and some 22,000 wounded. Yesterday the media was touting the number of US servicemembers killed in Iraq in April at 100. However, if you look at the enemy losses in Herat, est 120 in one engagement, should we not do a fair analysis and comparison, that is if deaths and casualties are a criteria for measuring success? I feel we should publiciize enemy deaths, wounded, and detained, this serves to level the comparison playing field as well, may even dissuade enemy recruiting efforts.

In the same blog this Congressman bemoaned the expenditures in this endeavor. Yesterday some of us did some research, WWII (45% of GDP), Korea (15% of GDP), Vietnam (topped at 10% of GDP), Iraq and Afghanistan? (less than 2% of GDP) has been spent. And currently we are only spending less than 5% of GDP on our defense budget.  There was a pretty interesting jpg that went around for a while which stated, "Marines are at War, America is at the Mall".....and with a Dow Jones of over 13,000 that is probably a good assertion.

3. Here is the bottom line, we are in the "Best" strategic position to affect this current conflagration, there is only one problem. We are like a Bull that goes after the "pretty red thing" and not the Matador, until we are worn down and the fatal blow is given. The Matadors are in Pakistan, Syria, and Iran and until we begin to seriously take note of that and disrupt these external influencers we are just charging the red cape, and in turn getting worn down. If we want to do this right? Execute cross border strike operations, enemy oriented to deny terrorist sanctuary and training bases, disrupt external support, and interdict infiltrations into Iraq and Afghanistan. Musharref, Asaad, and Ahmadinejad are laughing at us.

Al Qaeda in Iraq (Sunni) purposefully began the sectarian violence by bombing the Shrine mosque in Samarra. Iran responded by backing Shiites. Both have created a situation of misdirection, due to support from Syria and Iran. Taliban has found reenergized possibilities thanks due to being able to have a "hands off" area in Waziristan, and of course they get upset with Pakistan govt when we hit them.....not our concern.

Happy Easter to all and Greetings from Afghanistan, I am currently in Kabul for a meeting and with some time available decided to pen some thoughts and insights. As I landed here in Kabul and took the drive from the airport it warmed my heart to see the young children going and coming from school, especially the young girls. It made me think of my own daughters, Aubrey and Austen, Aubrey will turn 14 tomorrow, yet another birthday I will miss.

Therefore, it came to me to consider the importance of the sacrifices being made by many here in Afghanistan and Iraq, as that coincides with Easter and the theme of sacrifice and redemption.

As I sit here in Kabul and over the past few weeks I have read of much distressing news coming from our hallowed legislative bodies. It seems that they feel conceding to the enemy in this current conflagration is the best course for America, the Iraqi people, and I would suppose the world. But if you would allow me a few moments of your time I would like to illuminate some points. First of all, you all are well aware that I make no excuses for the Bush Administration in prosecuting current military operations. There have been mistakes, and there are very few conflicts that are clean, simple, and mistake ridden. Now, with that aside what is the best course, I contend to set a timetable and establish a date to withdraw is not. This gives the adversary a clear indication that he has achieved victory and that to simply lay low will enable his reaping of countless objectives.

It seems we have forgotten the bloodlust and carnage post exiting Vietnam and the “Killing Fields” of Pol Pot and Cambodia, no to mention the oppression and persecution of the Montagnards and countless others who had been supportive to the US. The repeat of such in Iraq will make this seem as nothing, as we deal with a far more brutal and savage enemy.

One must also consider the credibility of the US in the Middle East, and worldwide as well. Let’s see, left Beirut after barracks bombing, departed Somalia after having Soldiers bodies dragged through the streets, yes we lost 18 troops, but no one thinks about the death toll to Somali militiamen, in the face of countless terrorist attacks (Khobar Towers, USS Cole, Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania) responded with missile launches, and we all know of the Vietnam precedent….add to that a withdrawal from Iraq and Osama Bin Laden’s propaganda of the US being a “paper tiger” increases. We have to realize that in certain parts of the world strength is the measure of respect, not compromise, negotiations, appeasement. The Middle East is one of those regions.

My solution is simple, we must force the Iraqis to take the future of their country seriously, “No Free Chicken” but we must do our best to set the conditions for their success. This means to provide them external security against foreign incursions from Syria and Iran. Provide reinforcement to their Army in the security of Baghdad as well as advisors. We must get our military forces in position to do what they do best, maneuver warfare, strike operations. Coupled with that we must send a clear diplomatic message, we do not negotiate or create dialogue with States who sponsor terrorist activities. When you negotiate it has to be from a position of perceived power, not meekness, no threats, just resolve.

We have embarked upon two missions that are truly unique, trying to establish free democratic processes in Islamic States, Afghanistan and Iraq. We must rid ourselves of the typical ‘are we there yet” fast food foreign policy and realize that this is a long term investment, not just for America but for these regions and the following generations. Take for example in Afghanistan, going back to the Soviet invasion in 1979 through the establishment of the Taliban regime after the Afghan Civil War two American Presidents refused to engage and now we are trying to remedy 25-30 years of civil and social retardation. My friends this is not a 5-6 year fix. Oh by the way, how long have we been involved in the social endeavor in America called the ‘War on Poverty”.

Coupled with the above, we have to protect the only Democratic state in the Middle East, Israel, and support the only other potential Arab Democratic State, Lebanon. Lest we also forget, we cannot allow the wholesale export of Saudi Wahabbism in America. So there are many points of order necessitating our presence in Iraq, it is a door hinge, and exiting is just not a viable option.

I think West is destined for great things and I intend to support him for his congressional candidacy in Boca Raton this fall. West will be joining me on my radio show, Atlas on the Air,  on May 25th. A Very hot show, indeed.
Atlas readers are quite familiar with Colonel West as he writes "Column from Kandahar" here in the Atlas Sphere and has provided us with ongoing insights and observations on the war against the jihad for all these many months.  West is a warrior hence the ideal candidate.
Currently stationed in Kandahar, Afghanistan, West is planning a congressional run in Florida later this year. He was kind enough to share his thoughts on military strategy, politics, race, media and the lessons of the ancient world.

Registering Republican was based on the fact that I am a simple and conservative type fellow. The flag that will one day drape my casket is not a rag to be burned in some semblance of self-expression. I do not believe in multiculturalism (as defined to make American culture and beliefs subservient), pluralism, secular humanism or moral relativism. I believe in the empowerment of the individual and self-reliance – not government intervention to make us all equal, but rather, the creation of opportunity. I like to sing the National Anthem – albeit, it’s not a pretty sound - and I detest self-loathing. It is a cancer I cannot tolerate. Lastly, I believe there are people in this world that just have to have their butts kicked. No amount of Oprah hugs or Dr. Phil sessions can abate their belligerence.

I have asked one of my most valued warrior correspondents in Kandahar to write his observations  from the war zone. I think the world of Lieutenant Colonel Allen B West (bottom photo with the Afghan Army group of officers he instructes.)  He represents the best, the very best of America. Here is the first in a series Column from Kandahar;

My dear friend Pamela at AtlasShrugs suggested that I put together a monthly assessment for the people on her blog site. I feel that those of us who are over here need to provide the best possible insights into our current conflagration. I hope to be able to do this monthly for y’all. (I am from Georgia.) And yes, for those of you who have heard, I am considering running for US Congress in 2008.

I received many updates about this weekend’s Washington DC anti-war rallies. I was very glad to see that Americans conducted themselves with respect and there was no attempt to deface our Memorials to Fallen Heroes. 

There are some points I wish to make in this first missive.

“War on Terror” is a misnomer.  Terror is a tactic being employed worldwide to intimidate--- terrorize---people to reach a political goal. We are facing World War III;  the adversary is Totalitarian Imperialistic Fascist Islam. We are up against an ideology, not a tactic, and until we admit and understand that which opposes us, we are not going to be able to fully grasp the strategic and operational level tasks required to achieve success, victory.

• This adversary is totalitarian in that it seeks to dominate all aspects of life. I see that domination clearly here in Afghanistan, which was to be the beginning of the restoration of the Islamic caliphate.

• It is imperialistic, as is apparent if you read any jihadi website or listen to their preachings and demonstrative rantings where they profess the goal to reestablish Dar-al-Islam, first a borderless Islamic empire, ruled under totalitarian Sharia law. Then the complete subsuming of the world under this caliphate, which has been the mantra since 622 A.D.

• Finally, it is fascist in that Islam itself means “submission” and the subjugation of the individual with no such thing as human rights. I see it in Afghanistan, read of it elsewhere, and I hear the stories of no music, no TV, no education (other than memorizing the Koran), no free speech, no rights for women, no questioning--- just whatever the mullah, imam, or cleric says.

This is the 7th century jihadist ideology which has declared a jihad against the world, based upon Wahabbi, Salafi, and Deobandi virulent and radical interpretations.  Read the writings of Sayyid Qutb. If you disagree, your head is buried, not in sand, but in cement.

On the question of civil war in Iraq and elsewhere in the Islamic world, the conflict is not so much an issue of civil war, but rather inquisition versus enlightenment/reform. Since late 7th to mid 8th century, there has been a fundamental chasm between Sunni and Shiite based upon contentions of right to caliphate rule.  We should have understood that.
