CAIR'S JIHAD ON THE WEST: ROBERT SPENCER SILENCED

In my post yesterday, un-indicted co-conspirator CAIR declared war on free speech. CAIR issued an alert saying, "if any person is solicited to join a politically extreme organization or to make statements regarding the media crazed catch-phrase 'jihad against the West', CAIR is requesting that you notify them of the incident"... Attempting to silence us, attacking free speech, silencing everyone who uses the phrase "jihad against the west" ..... is a part of the jihad against the West. Get it?

They have intimidated and threatened, and have succeeded in silencing Robert Spencer to speak in Chicago at an American Library Association panel. This is a terror attack. This is just as destructive as a bomb going off somewhere, perhaps worse.

A scholar silenced in Chicago, but the an Overthrow America convention in Chicago is ok. Got it?

Robert Spencer is our proxy. He speaks for us. He speaks for basic America fundamental values. Robert Spencer should be proud - chest buttons bursting with pride that he is our spokesman in the war for our unalienable rights. They won this battle. They will not win the war as long as we have breath in our bodies.

ALA, panelists cave to pressure from terror-linked group, panel with Spencer canceled Jihadwatch

The American Library Association invited me to speak on a panel tomorrow, which led the Council on American-Islamic Relations, an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case, along with some complicit, bemused, and Leftist academics, to kick up a controversy -- previous posts about this here and here.

However, now the other three panelists, caving to pressure from this terror-linked group, have withdrawn from the panel, and the ALA has canceled the panel. The panel was stacked three against one against my point of view, but even three-to-one wasn't safe enough for CAIR or these evidently very insecure academics.

CAIR has in this won a great victory, one of many, and I am sure there will be many more, but ultimately time is running out on that unsavory organization anyway, because the truth is not on its side. CAIR has succeeded in intimidating these academics and the ALA into behaving as if my position were beyond the pale, unworthy of discussion by decent people. This way they make the ignorant and timid afraid to consider what I say, and they don't have to go to the trouble of refuting it.

And ultimately, there is nothing I can do about this tactic. It has been employed on a large scale for years by CAIR and others. But consider: my position is based on analysis of the texts and teachings of Islam, and how jihadists use those texts to make recruits among peaceful Muslims. Everything I say I back up with evidence, and have repeatedly stated my willingness to discuss and debate these issues -- with CAIR or with anyone else. Thus the best way to silence me would be to refute me -- censoring me will only inevitably make people curious as to whether or not they're being lied to (and they are). Yet no one will dare to even try to refute me.

CAIR, meanwhile, is an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas terror funding case. Its operatives have repeatedly refused to denounce Hamas and Hizballah as terrorist groups. Several of its former officials have been convicted of various crimes related to jihad terror. Several of its other officials have made Islamic supremacist statements. CAIR also was involved in the Flying Imams' intimidation suit against the passengers who reported their suspicious behavior.

If one of us is to be marginalized, it should be terror-linked CAIR, not me. But of course with politically correct multiculturalism befogging the entire society, it is not likely that anything will change in this regard anytime soon.

There are further ironies in various position statements of the ALA itself:

Irony #1: "ALA actively advocates in defense of the rights of library users to read, seek information, and speak freely as guaranteed by the First Amendment. A publicly supported library provides free and equal access to information for all people of that community. We enjoy this basic right in our democratic society. It is a core value of the library profession."

Irony #2: "We uphold the principles of intellectual freedom and resist all efforts to censor library resources."

Irony #3: "We distinguish between our personal convictions and professional duties and do not allow our personal beliefs to interfere with fair representation of the aims of our institutions or the provision of access to their information resources."

Here is the Library Journal article, which contains numerous inaccuracies: "ALA Conference 2009: Panelists Withdraw from Session Featuring 'Islam-basher': American Library Association Conference 2009: Organization had asked for Robert Spencer to drop out from panel, says other speakers didn't know he would be joining them," by Raya Kuzyk & Norman Oder for the Library Journal, July 11:

[July 11] The Chicago office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) today announced that all other panelists scheduled to speak at an American Library Association (ALA) annual conference session July 12 on stereotyping of Islam have withdrawn in protest over the participation of Robert Spencer, which CAIR calls "one of the nation’s leading Islam-bashers."

Dr. Marcia Hermansen, a professor of Islamic Studies at Loyola University, wrote to the ALA, ""[sic] While I heartily endorse the principles of free expression and diversity of viewpoints that are part of the ALA mission, the way in which this information session about Islam and Muslims for Ethnic and Multi-Cultural librarians was modified and politicized at the last moment raises serious concerns about the integrity of the session."

Dr. Alia Ammar, a neuropsychologist from Hinsdale, IL, commented, "Given the substantial changes in the composition, subject, and direction of the ALA panel to which I was invited to present as well as the blatant misinformation provided regarding the purpose of the session, it would [be] untenable to present in your forum…The lack of professionalism with which this matter has been handled has been wholly disappointing as the efforts of the originally invited panelists to reach a respectable solution to the problem were simply ignored. In light of these developments, I respectfully decline to participate in the panel."

CAIR said that none of the invited panelists were informed by the ALA that Spencer was invited to participate in the panel.

Hermansen and Ammar both seem to be suggesting that the panel was changed at the last minute -- apparently by my being added on. CAIR says that none of the other panelists were told that I would be on the panel. I find this hard to believe. Here is an email that Myra Appel, chair of the Ethnic and Multicultural Information Exchange Roundtable (EMIERT), sent around to the ALA's EMIERT mailing list on June 15 -- almost a month ago:

So would Hermansen and Ammar have us believe that in all the time since that email was sent on June 15, no one got around to informing them who else was on the panel? They had no curiosity about it? It strains credulity, to say the least.

CAIR's press release about the other three panelists dropping out is here. It repeats many of the same libels and innuendos that I answered here, although it is noteworthy that this latest from CAIR contains no mention of the lies and hate site "Little Green Footballs." Maybe CAIR realized how silly it sounded to invoke something called "Little Green Footballs" as an authority -- or maybe the falsehoods manufactured by the ridiculous Charles Johnson proved to be too flimsy and implausible even for those old hands at truth-twisting at CAIR.

Hermansen said: "I heartily endorse the principles of free expression and diversity of viewpoints that are part of the ALA mission." Glad to hear it. So do I. Accordingly, I invite her to debate me on issues regarding Islam and jihad -- in fact, she can formulate the specific topic. I will travel to Loyola University at my own expense for this debate at a time at her convenience. The same invitation goes to the other panelists, Esmail Koushanpour and Alia Ammar. If my opinions are so patently false, why not debate me and demonstrate it to the world, so that I will stand forever discredited?

If Hermansen, Koushanpour, and Ammar disagree with me, they have proven too cowardly to debate and defend their positions, and to show mine to be wrong. And if they agree with me, they have proven too cowardly to do so in public. As with numerous other lightweight academics, they dare not defend anything outside their politically correct cocoon, because they know, even if they cannot admit it, that what they are saying is a soothing lie, and that what I am saying is the truth.

Not so? Prove it. My invitation to debate stands open. Hermansen, Koushanpour and/or Ammar, or even Honest Ibe Hooper of CAIR, whom I would love to debate, can reach me at director@jihadwatch.org.

As Michiganders, as Americans, as Muslims, it is our Islamic duty to ‘follow the laws of the land’ [hadith] and to ‘not harm those who have not harmed you’ [Quran]. In the spirit of this, it seems the Center for American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) in Detroit has issued a statement regarding any (alleged) individuals inviting others to partake in extreme behavior or violence.

Just for clarification. Michiganders have no Islamic duty. Americans have no Islamic duty. Muslims in America, you have a duty to abide by Michigan state and U.S. federal laws. Apparently, to at least one Muslim American in Michigan, following Islamic sharia law and hadith trumps the United States Constitution, state, and federal law.

In the video recording I have included below, the lawyer for CAIR-MI, Melanie Elturk, states: “Thwarting potential acts of political extremism is a religious obligation”.

Is CAIR not politically extreme?

This video from a CAIR lawyer instructs Muslims not to call law enforcement to report suspicious activity, but to call their mosque or imam first, and the imam or mosque will then contact CAIR, who will then give a third-person account to law enforcement.

Why? Why not contact law enforcement immediately? Could it be so CAIR can craft the story appropriately or coach the witness on what to say or not say? Why contact an imam or mosque with no law enforcement training, background, or authority?

Why then contact CAIR – a group whose founders have been convicted of terror-related offenses? A group who is currently under a RICO indictment for alleged crimes against Muslims? A group who has threatened to not cooperate with the FBI.

The FBI has gone so far as banning field agents from meeting with CAIR due to CAIR’s connection to Hamas – a terrorist group – although there are still meetings taking place.

Democratic and Republican politicians have recommended that the U.S. government not have any relation with CAIR – although CAIR’s chairman is North Carolina state senator Larry Shaw.

This video featuring a CAIR lawyer also instructs Muslims to report incidents to CAIR if they are approached regarding attacks of violence against “civilians”. In accordance with Islamic sharia law, attacks on non-civilians, are permitted. And according to CAIR, only attacks on civilians need by reported, so conversely, attacks on non-civilians – like the deadly jihad attack on two U.S. Army soldiers in Arkansas by a Muslim American, do not need to be reported as they are permitted.

Un-indicted Co-Conspirator CAIR Revving Up for for Hates Crimes Prosecution

Why this is something to be concerned about and to watch closely:

CAIR has trumpeted false "hate crimes" against Muslims in the past. And in the litany of alleged "hate crimes" against Muslims that are listed in this press release, there is one exceedingly fishy detail. It's in this article: "FBI investigating death of Muslim leader in High Desert," by Stacia Glenn for the San Bernardino Sun, July 6:

The FBI is investigating the death of a Muslim leader whose body was found inside a burned home in Yermo that had recently been spraypainted with racial epithets and Nazi symbols.

Authorities have deemed the June 27 fire suspicious, but said it could take weeks before they are able to determine how the blaze started....

But the Council on American-Islamic Relations seems sure that Mohammed was killed because of his race or religion. The Muslim leader had established mosques in Yermo, Barstow and Victorville....

Mohammed still owned the Yermo house and went there the day of the fire to paint over the offensive graffiti, which included swastikas, drawings of the American flag and various racial slurs....

CAIR officials said they are unsure why Mohammed did not report that someone had broken into his unoccupied Yermo home and spraypainted racial epithets across the walls.

The imam did photograph them, however, and the pictures are now displayed on CAIR's Web site....

Let me ask you: if someone broke into your house and spraypainted racial epithets across the walls, would you for any conceivable reason not call the police? It's extremely strange, and CAIR's involvement doesn't make it any less strange.

Any actual victimization of innocent people, Muslim or non-Muslim, is odious and warrants the condemnation of every American. But CAIR is playing a political game here, a game of manipulation, of which the end result will be that law enforcement officials will be afraid to investigate allegations of Islamic terror activity (note the last paragraph I've quoted below from their press release) and those who dare to explore the motives and goals of jihad terrorists will be silenced as purveying "hate speech."

Think that couldn't happen in America? Think again. Pamela has details of HR 1966, section 881, which says, "Whoever transmits in interstate or foreign commerce any communication, with the intent to coerce, intimidate, harass, or cause substantial emotional distress to a person, using electronic means to support severe, repeated, and hostile behavior, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both."

Cause "substantial emotional distress to a person" could get you two years in prison. Now do you understand why Islamic spokesmen so often say that they find it "offensive" when I tell the truth about Islamic texts and teachings? How could the truth be offensive?

It can't, unless it involves truths that some people don't want you to know. It also involves an attempt to frame a narrative -- that what I am saying is "offensive," it "causes emotional distress," and hence must be silenced and criminalized.

WASHINGTON, July 8, 2009 /PRNewswire-USNewswire via COMTEX/ ----A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today cited recent anti-Muslim incidents nationwide in calling on American leaders to address what it said is a "growing level of anti-Muslim prejudice and stereotyping" in American society.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said opinion leaders, policymakers and law enforcement authorities should speak out against the type of Islamophobic rhetoric on Internet hate sites and on talk radio programs that may lead to bias-motivated attacks.

In making its appeal to local and national leaders, CAIR cited recent incidents targeting American Muslim individuals and institutions, including a bias-motivated attack on a Muslim woman and child in Seattle by a self-proclaimed white supremacist, vandalism of mosques in Florida and California, an anti-Islam sign outside a Florida church, racist fireworks sold in Wisconsin, the beating of a Muslim student in New York, and the death of a California Muslim leader in a "suspicious" fire....

The Washington-based council also noted American Muslim concerns that government actions, such as sending agent provocateurs into mosques or targeting Muslims for deportation even after they are acquitted of criminal charges, can add to the growing level of anti-Muslim views by stereotyping Muslims as predisposed to terrorism....

This is the very same conference where thugs from CAIR/ISNA set up great American David Gaubatz and tried to have him killed or arrested. And now, in addition to the Justice Department’s outreach to the Islamic Society of North America, the White House is sanctioning this un-indicted co-conspirator. Robert Spencer wrote here:

In 2007, ISNA was named an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation (HLF) terror funding case. The Holy Land Foundation, once the nation’s largest Islamic charity, was ultimately found guilty of funneling millions of dollars in charitable contributions to the jihad terror group Hamas.

In July 2008, ISNA, along with the North American Islamic Trust (NAIT) protested its designation as an unindicted co-conspirator, alleging that this classification was merely part of a larger attempt by government and law enforcement to “disparage” and “vilify” Muslims. This earned them a stinging rebuke from federal prosecutors: “During last year’s trial, numerous exhibits were entered into evidence establishing both ISNA’s and NAIT’s intimate relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood, the Palestine Committee, and the defendants in this case. They were intimately connected with the HLF and its assigned task of providing financial support to HAMAS....That ISNA and NAIT appeared in these documents and share a common history with these defendants is a reflection of the evidence, not any attempt to ‘disparage’ or ‘vilify.’”

ISNA’s “intimate relationship with the Muslim Brotherhood” ought to raise the concerns of every free American, not just the Justice Department. After all, the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States is dedicated -- in its own words -- to “a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and Allah’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

That’s from an internal Brotherhood document captured by law enforcement and released during the Holy Land Foundation trial: “An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Brotherhood in North America.” This memorandum concludes with an extraordinarily revealing “list of our organizations and the organizations of our friends.” Among these organizations is listed the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA).

Valerie Jarrett Addresses the Islamic Society of North America

Continuing President Obama’s outreach to Muslims, Senior Advisor to the President Valerie Jarrett spoke at the Islamic Society of North America's 46th Annual Convention. The Convention, themed "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness," brought together thousands of Muslim Americans to our nation’s capital over the July 4th weekend.

 

The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) maintains that it is the largest Muslim American organization in the United States.  It was founded more than forty years ago and aims to serve as a meeting place for people and ideas, while building bridges of understanding and cooperation.

 

In her remarks, Jarrett spoke of the importance of President Obama’s Cairo speech, where he emphasized that the United States and Muslim communities share fundamental values, such as justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of human beings.

 

She quoted the President in emphasizing the many contributions of Muslim Americans to the United States:

 

Since our founding, American Muslims have enriched the United States. They have fought in our wars, served in government, stood for civil rights, started businesses, taught at our universities, excelled in our sports arenas, won Nobel prizes, built our tallest building, and lit the Olympic torch.

 

She continued by emphasizing that:
 

I will tell you, it is not always easy to identify American "Muslim" business leaders, scientists, artists, athletes, and so on. Not because there aren’t any, but because there are too many, and they are known for their talents and character – not simply their religion.  This is a great thing. It is a reflection of the American dream, which is ultimately rooted in these values that we all share – values that are common to all of humanity.  And just as we share common values, we also share common dreams – for security, progress, and opportunity.

 

After acknowledging the diligent work and great contribution of Muslim Americans to American society, Jarrett encouraged Muslim Americans to respond to President Obama’s call to service. She asked that they participate in United We Serve this summer, and utilize www.serve.gov to post service projects and find other opportunities.  

 

The White House, the Justice Department, the FBI and the State Department ...... we are infiltrated.

And now a new position/division has been created at the State Department: "Special  Representative to Muslim Communities overseas and domestic," reporting directly to Secretary of State Clinton.

After all, the Muslim Brotherhood in the United States is dedicated -- in its own words -- to “a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within and ‘sabotaging’ its miserable house by their hands and the hands of the believers so that it is eliminated and Allah’s religion is made victorious over all other religions.”

That’s from an internal Brotherhood document captured by law enforcement and released during the Holy Land Foundation trial: “An Explanatory Memorandum on the General Strategic Goal for the Brotherhood in North America.” This memorandum concludes with an extraordinarily revealing “list of our organizations and the organizations of our friends.” Among these organizations is listed the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA).

Valerie Jarrett Addresses the Islamic Society of North America

Continuing President Obama’s outreach to Muslims, Senior Advisor to the President Valerie Jarrett spoke at the Islamic Society of North America's 46th Annual Convention. The Convention, themed "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness," brought together thousands of Muslim Americans to our nation’s capital over the July 4th weekend.

 

The Islamic Society of North America (ISNA) maintains that it is the largest Muslim American organization in the United States.  It was founded more than forty years ago and aims to serve as a meeting place for people and ideas, while building bridges of understanding and cooperation.

 

In her remarks, Jarrett spoke of the importance of President Obama’s Cairo speech, where he emphasized that the United States and Muslim communities share fundamental values, such as justice, progress, tolerance, and the dignity of human beings.

 

She quoted the President in emphasizing the many contributions of Muslim Americans to the United States:

 

Since our founding, American Muslims have enriched the United States. They have fought in our wars, served in government, stood for civil rights, started businesses, taught at our universities, excelled in our sports arenas, won Nobel prizes, built our tallest building, and lit the Olympic torch.

 

She continued by emphasizing that:
 

I will tell you, it is not always easy to identify American "Muslim" business leaders, scientists, artists, athletes, and so on. Not because there aren’t any, but because there are too many, and they are known for their talents and character – not simply their religion.  This is a great thing. It is a reflection of the American dream, which is ultimately rooted in these values that we all share – values that are common to all of humanity.  And just as we share common values, we also share common dreams – for security, progress, and opportunity.

 

After acknowledging the diligent work and great contribution of Muslim Americans to American society, Jarrett encouraged Muslim Americans to respond to President Obama’s call to service. She asked that they participate in United We Serve this summer, and utilize www.serve.gov to post service projects and find other opportunities.

CAIR’s “Share the Quran” educational campaign was prompted by President Obama’s recent address to Muslims worldwide in which he quoted from that holy text.

In the multi-year initiative, American Muslims will sponsor Qurans for distribution to governors, state attorney generals, educators, law enforcement officials, state and national legislators, local elected and public officials, media professionals, and other local or national leaders who shape public opinion or determine policy.

Secretive U.S. Prison Units Used to House Muslim, Animal Rights and Environmental Activists

The government is using secretive prison facilities on U.S. soil, called Communication Management Units, to house inmates accused of being tied to “terrorism” groups. They overwhelmingly include Muslim inmates, along with at least two animal rights and environmental activists.

Accused? No these are convicted prisoners. CONVICTS.  Since when do convicts get to pick their prisons?

Little information is available about the secretive facilities and the prisoners housed there. However, through interviews with attorneys, family members, and a current prisoner, it is clear that these units have been created not for violent and dangerous “terrorists,” but for political cases that the government would like to keep out of the public spotlight and out of the press.

OPENED QUIETLY AND PERHAPS ILLEGALLY

"Quietly" -- what did he want? A parade down Fifth Avenue? "Illegally" - so says the red now green blogger. Meanwhile we are reading all about it.

In April of 2006, the Department of Justice proposed a new set of rules to restrict the communication of “terrorist” inmates. The proposal did not make it far, though: during the required public comment period, the ACLU and other civil rights groups raised Constitutional concerns. The program was too sweeping, they said, and it could wrap up non-terrorists and those not even convicted of a crime.

The Bureau of Prisons dropped the proposal. Or so it seemed. Just a few months later, a similar program (now called the Communication Management Unit, or CMU), was quietly opened by the Justice Department at Terre Haute, Ind.

Then, in May of 2008, a handful of inmates were moved, without warning, to what is believed to be the second CMU in the country, at Marion, Il.

Both CMUs are “self-contained” housing units, according to prison documents, for prisoners who “require increased monitoring of communication” in order to “protect the public.”

WHO IS HOUSED AT CMUs?

The CMUs are less restrictive than, say, ADX Florence, the notorious supermax prison for the most dangerous inmates. The supermax holds al-Qaeda operative Zacarias Moussaoui and Unabomber Theodore J. Kaczynski.

CMU inmates stand in sharp contrast to the Moussaouis and Kaczynskis of the world, though.

There are millions of Moussaouis but only one Kaczynski. How do you equate the two?

They include Rafil A. Dhafir, an Iraqi-born physician who created a charity called Help the Needy to provide food and medicine to the people of Iraq suffering under the U.S.-imposed economic sanctions. He was sentenced to 22 years in prison for violating the sanctions.

Translation: He was sentenced to 22 years by a jury of his peers. In February 2005 Dhafir was convicted of 59 out of 60 charges. Dhafir had run an unregistered (and unaudited) charity, "Help the Needy". The 59 convictions included:

• not recording the $400,000 of his own money that he contributed to the fund
• using a portion of the funds he collected to aid needy for his own benefit
• circumventing the laws against sending funds to Iraq, without a license
• defrauding Medicare

Five other people, including his wife, had already pleaded guilty before him. “There were charges of money laundering, tax evasion, mail and wire fraud, but also Medicare fraud. His wife was the billing manager in his medical office."

They include Daniel McGowan, an environmental activist sentenced to seven years in prison for a string of property crimes in the name of defending the environment. He was previously at FCI-Sandstone, a low-security facility, and was transferred without notice to the CMU, and told it was not for any disciplinary reason.
And, until recently, they included Andrew Stepanian. Stepanian was convicted of conspiring to commit “animal enterprise terrorism” and shut down the notorious animal testing laboratory Huntingdon Life Sciences, in a landmark First Amendment case pending appeal. The government’s case focused on a controversial website run by an activist group that published news of both legal and illegal actions against the laboratory. He was sentenced to three years in prison, and is currently on house arrest in New York City. Stepanian is believed to be the first prisoner ever released from a CMU.

VIOLATION OF DUE PROCESS RIGHTS

Attorneys and prisoners have said that inmates are transferred to the CMUs without notice and without opportunity to challenge their new designation, in what seems to be a clear violation of their due process rights.

For many inmates in federal prisons, phone calls, mail and visits are flecks of light in the darkness.

Prisoners transferred without notice? So what? Who died and made them the Queen of England? They broke the law.

“No one got a hearing to determine whether we should or should not be transferred here,” said Daniel McGowan in a letter from the CMU in Marion, Ill.

Similarly, Rafil A. Dhafir said in a letter to his family from the CMU in Terre Haute, Ind., that he was put in isolation for two days before the move. “No one seems to know about this top-secret operation until now,” he wrote. “It is still not fully understood… The staff here is struggling to make sense of the whole situation.”

“We are told this is an experiment,” Dhafir says. “So the whole concept is evolving on a daily basis.”

OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND

The CMU “experiment” limits prisoner contact with the outside world through a list of restrictive policies. According to prison documents giving a skeleton of CMU policies, called institution supplements,

The creation of secret facilities to primarily house Muslim inmates accused of non-violent charges, along with a couple animal rights and environmental activists, marks both a continuation and a radical expansion of the “War on Terrorism.”

First, it is a continuation of the “terrorism” crackdown that Arab and Muslim communities have intensely experienced since September 11th.

Jen Rubin reports over at PJM that the lethal Department of Justice needs volunteers for a “unique opportunity.” It seems the Department of Justice will sponsor a booth at the ISNA (Islamic Society of North America) convention (where CAIR is serving kool-aid cocktails).

ISNA like CAIR was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation criminal prosecution.

Today, FBI Executive Assistant Director Tom Harrington is meeting at FBIHQ with Imam Majid of the ADAMS Center in Sterling,VA. Imam Majid is also the Vice-President of the Islamic Society of North America - a known Muslim Brotherhood entity and un-indicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation Trial in Dallas in which all defendants were found guilty of leading the Hamas front group. This was the largest terrorism financing trial in the history of the United States.

This meeting today follows yesterday's official decision by FBIHQ to use ISNA as their official point of contact with the American Muslim community. ISNA is one of the largest and most prominent Muslim Brotherhood entities in the US. The Brotherhood was founded in Egypt in 1928 with two objectives (which are their same two objectives today): implement Islamic Law and re-establish the global Islamic Caliphate. Their creed, which is still their creed today, includes "...martyrdom in the way of Allah is our highest inspiration."

We know that Assistant US attorneys are not going forward with prosecutions because it is "politically problematic." And now agents and attorneys aware of this decision believe it obligates them to violate US law by forcing them to work with a front group for a designated terrorist group (Hamas). It is worth reminding you all that the Hamas Covenant states Hamas is a Muslim Brotherhood entity, and that Hamas is a designated terrorist organization by the US government.

I strongly encourage you all to notify your state and federal elected officials and push them to call for the strongest possible action against the FBI, to include the removal of all senior FBI officials who approved this decision.

EUREKA! Criminal Fraud and Racketeering Lawsuit Against CAIR

It's about time they took the thugs down. CAIR's exploitation of our system of democracy to exploit the ends of the Muslim Brotherhood is particularly galling. The front for the Muslim Brotherhood in the US and an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land terror funding case has been given a free pass. No mas! The is the best news I have heard all year. I am encouraged enormously and hope that others look to Yerushalmi's example. We must do more of this. CAIR and their ilk use the legal system to shut up and shut down those who speak the truth. District Director for California State Senator Carol Liu (21st District) served in a federal fraud and racketeering lawsuit.

June 15, 2009 – Washington, DC: The District Director for California State Senator Carol Liu (D-La Cañada) was served last week in a federal fraud and racketeering lawsuit. Tahra Goraya was served on Wednesday, June 10th while at work at the state senator’s Glendale office serving the 21st District.

Goraya served as “national director” of the Council on American-Islamic Relations at the time of the alleged fraudulent scheme perpetrated by CAIR and its national leadership in Washington, D.C.

According to the complaint filed by former CAIR clients in November 2008, Goraya was directly involved in the fraud and cover-up. Goraya apparently resigned from CAIR sometime after the fraudulent scheme was fully underway and moved back to her home state of California. There she took a job as District Director for California State Senator Carol Liu. Goraya was served with the summons and complaint at Senator Liu’s Glendale offices. She has until June 30th to file her response with the court.

The federal racketeering (or RICO) lawsuit was filed November 18, 2008 in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia by four former CAIR clients. The complaint alleges criminal fraud and racketeering against CAIR, a self-described Muslim public interest civil rights law firm. The lawsuit also names CAIR’s national leadership, including Goraya, as individual defendants.

The lawsuit alleges that Morris Days, who served as the “Resident Attorney” and “Manager for Civil Rights” at the now defunct CAIR chapter in Herndon, Virginia, was in fact not an attorney and that he defrauded hundreds of CAIR clients by failing to provide legal services for which they had paid.

While attorney David Yerushalmi represents the four plaintiffs in this particular lawsuit, two of whom are African American Muslims, the complaint alleges that according to CAIR internal documents, there are hundreds of victims of the CAIR-Days fraud scheme.

According to the complaint, CAIR failed to conduct a background check on Days prior to hiring him and when they did discover his massive fraud, rather than inform their clients and authorities, they immediately set about to conspire with Days to continue the fraud and to cover it up. CAIR officials purposefully concealed the truth about Days from their clients, law enforcement, the Virginia and D.C. state bar associations, and the media. When CAIR began fielding irate calls from clients about Days’ failure to provide competent legal services, CAIR fraudulently deceived their clients about Days’ relationship to CAIR, suggesting he was never actually employed by CAIR, and even concealed the fact that CAIR finally fired him for criminal fraud.

“The evidence has long suggested that CAIR is a criminal organization set up by the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas to further its aims of stealth Jihad in the U.S.,” Mr. Yerushalmi was quoted at the time of the filing referring to the fact that CAIR has been named by the federal government as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror financing trial which led to multiple convictions, including at least one CAIR founding member and senior executive.

“But our investigation and this complaint make clear that CAIR’s criminal activities know no bounds,” Yerushalmi continued.

“According to the facts as carefully laid out in this complaint,” Yerushalmi explained, “CAIR has engaged in a massive cover-up of a criminal fraud in which literally hundreds of CAIR clients have been victimized and because of the CAIR cover-up they still don’t realize it. The fact that CAIR has victimized Muslims and non-Muslims alike demonstrates that CAIR is only looking out for CAIR and its ongoing effort to bilk donors out of millions of dollars of charitable donations thinking they are supporting a legitimate organization.”

After serving all of the defendants except Morris Days and Tahra Goraya, the plaintiffs learned that Days had died from lung ailments and Goraya had left for California. Because the 120-day time limit to serve the summons and complaint was nearing, the court granted the plaintiffs more time to serve Goraya and this was accomplished last week.

Goraya is the director of the 21st District office of Senator Liu, which serves Burbank, Glendale, Pasadena, La Cañada Flintridge, San Gabriel, Temple City, and the Los Angeles communities of Tarzana, Encino, Reseda, Van Nuys, Sherman Oaks, Studio City, North Hollywood, Silverlake, Los Feliz, Eagle Rock, Echo Park, Atwater Village, and Chinatown.

The CAIR defendants have filed a perfunctory motion to dismiss, which the parties fully briefed and submitted to the court in mid-March of this year. Mr. Yerushalmi said he expects the court’s ruling at any time. When asked about next steps, Mr. Yerushalmi said: “We are fully confident the court will deny the CAIR defendants’ motion and allow discovery to proceed. We are eager to begin examining CAIR’s internal documents and taking testimony. In the meantime, we have heard from additional former CAIR clients and victims and expect to either call them as witnesses or include them as additional plaintiffs.”

The complaint also alleges that in addition to covering up the Days fraud scheme, CAIR officials in D.C. forced angry clients who were demanding a return of their legal fees to sign a release that bought the client-victims’ silence by prohibiting them from informing law enforcement or the media about the CAIR-Days fraud. According to the agreement, if the “settling” clients said anything to anyone about the fraud scheme, CAIR would be able to sue them for $25,000.

This enforced code of silence left hundreds of CAIR client-victims in the dark such that to this day they have not learned that Days is not an attorney and that he had not filed the legal actions on their behalf for which Days and CAIR publicly claimed credit.

The complaint identifies CAIR as a racketeering enterprise under the federal Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO), which is a criminal racketeering statute that allows victims to sue the defendants in civil court. In addition to damages, the plaintiffs are seeking injunctive relief under this and other statutes to shut down CAIR and to prevent the individual defendants from engaging in public interest legal work in the future.

The named defendants are: the Council on American-Islamic Relations Action Network Inc. (dba CAIR); Nihad Awad aka Nihad Hammad who serves as executive director of CAIR National; Parvez Ahmed who was the chairman of the board of CAIR National during the relevant time period; Tahra Goraya who was the national director of CAIR but who has since resigned; Khadijah Athman who is the manager of the “civil rights” division of CAIR; and Nadhira al-Khalili, Esq., who is in-house legal counsel for CAIR.

According to the complaint, CAIR’s in-house Washington, D.C.-based attorney Khalili was directly involved in taking the legal files out of the CAIR Virginia office and concealing them in the D.C. office.

Also named as defendants are Ibrahim Hooper and Amina Rubin, CAIR’s director of communications and coordinator of communications, respectively. According to the complaint, these two were directly responsible for issuing fraudulent press releases about the Days fraud scheme, thus aiding and abetting the CAIR cover-up.

UN-INDICTED CO-CONSPIRATOR CAIR ACCUSES/THREATENS FBI: NO MOSQUE MONITORING

"The Detroit Division of the FBI denies the allegations made today by the Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan," Andrew Arena, special agent in charge of the FBI in Detroit, said in an e-mailed statement to The Associated Press.

The Muslim Brotherhood, aka CAIR, is ratcheting up the threats and intimidation to keep law enforcement out of the mosques. Recent surveys show 3 out of 4 mosques in the US preach hatred of the West and of the Jews.

Terrible things are going on in those houses of worship. I am sure the expose I ran of the Nashville mosque which exposed child beatings, the imposition of shariah law and other terrible abuses accelerated this action to impose a stop gap on law enforcement.

CAIR is creating a strawman to keep the FBI and all law enforcement away from terror hotspots. If they can succeed at making the case in the false allegations, law enforcement will stay away. Radioactive.

The ACLU filed a lawsuit today and said, "The government has squandered an opportunity to build trust with Muslim Americans and broken the law by failing to release information in a timely and complete way".  They have it backwards. The Muslim community in America squandered an opportunity to build trust with the American people by not cooperating with law enforcement.

Michigan Muslim Group Asking People to Spy hat tip Cheryl

            Prosecutor: Report Mosque Spying

DEARBORN, Mich. -- The top federal prosecutor in Detroit has encouraged Muslims to report allegations the FBI hired informants to infiltrate mosques and spy on leaders and worshipers.

U.S. Attorney Terrence Berg told Arab- and Muslim-American community leaders during a round-table discussion Thursday that such allegations have not been brought to his attention. But he said his office takes allegations of domestic spying "extremely seriously."

A coalition of Michigan Muslim leaders recently asked U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate several complaints related to spying on Muslims. Some leaders have called it a fishing expedition, something the FBI denies.

Government's Response to 2006 FOIA Request on Mosque Spying Slow, Incomplete (9/19/2007) media@aclu.org

LOS ANGELES - More than a year ago, leading Muslim Americans requested basic information about FBI surveillance in Southern California, seeking to calm community fears of spying at mosques and surveillance of community groups and community leaders. To date, the government has turned over only four pages of documents.

Today, the ACLU of Southern California filed a federal lawsuit claiming the government's incomplete and long-delayed response violated the Freedom of Information Act.

"The government has squandered an opportunity to build trust with Muslim Americans and broken the law by failing to release information in a timely and complete way," said ACLU of Southern California staff attorney Ranjana Natarajan. "If the FBI is serious about addressing the concerns of Muslim Americans in Southern California that their religious rights are protected, they should release the records this lawsuit seeks."

In May 2006, 11 Muslim American leaders and community groups filed a joint FOIA request to the FBI for all records concerning the agency's surveillance and investigations of themselves or their groups since January 2001.They hoped to shed light on practices that have been reported in the press, such as nuclear radiation monitoring at mosques and alleged spying on mosques by federal agents.

ADL Condemns Anti-Islam Remarks Made by Dutch Parliamentarian During Appearances in S. Florida

The Anti-Defamation League (ADL) strongly condemns remarks made over the last few days at various appearances throughout South Florida by Dutch Parliamentarian Geert Wilders.  In his speeches, he claimed that "Islam is not a religion" and "the right to religious freedom should not apply to this totalitarian ideology called Islam."  Mr. Wilders also stated that the Koran is a book of hatred, and that Mohammed was both "a pedophile and a warlord."

Israel has no greater friend on the International stage than the Honorable Geert Wilders. Here is what Wilders said in Florida about Israel:

Ladies and Gentlemen, there is one country in our Western Civilization that has been forced to fight the forces of Jihad for its values since the very day of its existence: Israel the Canary in the Coal Mine. Let me say a few words about that wonderful country.

I had the privilege myself to live in Israel for a few years and since then I have visited that country many many times.. Why? Because I love it, I do love Israel.

However, in Europe, being Pro-American, being Pro-Israel makes you an endangered species. Israel is a Beacon of Light in an area, the Middle East, that is pitch black everywhere else.

Israel is a Western Democracy, whilst Syria, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and all the other countries in the region are medieval dictatorships. Islam forces Israel to fight. Israel is not just fighting for itself, Israel is fighting for all of us, for the entire West, just like those brave American soldiers who landed in Sicily in 1943 and stormed the Normandy beaches in 1944.

Young Israeli men today, young Israeli Women today, are fighting for our freedom, are fighting for our civilization, and like Bosnia, like Kosovo, like Nigeria, like Sudan, like the Caucasus, like Kashmir, like Southern Thailand, like Western China and the South of the Philippines, Israel is situated exactly on the dividing line between Dar al -Islam, the Islamic World and Da al-Harb the non-Islamic World. It is no coincidence that it is precisely this dividing line, where blood is flowing and war is raging in many many areas.

And, we have to get rid of that politically correct fallacy that it is all about separate conflicts, it's not. Let us please allow ourselves at least to see the big picture, which is, that all those conflicts, have to do with Jihad, Jihad in the spirit of Mohammed. Ladies and Gentlemen, Europe ought to fully back Israel to the hilt and (???help) us fight against those that threaten it, whether it's Hezbollah, whether it's Hamas, or Nuclear Iran. Also, because of it's history, Europe has certainly the moral duty and obligation to prevent at all cost, another Holocaust against the Jewish people.

Geert Wilders held a joint press conference with Lord Malcolm Pearson in response to CAIR's attack on Florida House of Representatives Majority Leader Rep. Adam Hasner.

Freedom of expression is under attack. That is the theme I am addressing here in America this week as part of the Free Speech Summit being held in Florida under the sponsorship of the Florida Security Council. And it is clear that a serious discussion of the threats to our freedoms in the West cannot come too soon.

For example, my friend Rep. Adam Hasner, the majority leader of the Florida House of Representatives was attacked in a press release issued by the national office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) on Monday for daring to appear at a private event with me this past weekend. Because of that appearance, CAIR is demanding that Rep. Hasner step down or be removed from his position.

This attack on a friend and fellow legislator is of grave concern to me. CAIR’s assault on Rep. Hasner strikes at the very heart of our most basic freedoms. In fact, it is but the latest episode in that organization’s long-running and determined effort to silence its critics. Indeed, CAIR seeks to suppress all those who dare to challenge the theo-political-legal program that authoritative Islam calls “Shariah.” In so doing, they are seeking to impose what amount to Shariah blasphemy codes.

It is especially important to note that Adam Hasner is not only being attacked for comments he made that are deemed offensive by those who seek to impose Shariah in America. His career is now being threatened for comments made by others in his presence – in this case, by me. Thus the Islamists are infringing not only on this country’s constitutionally protected freedom of expression but also freedom of association.

If a high-ranking public official – elected by the people and appointed to his leadership position by his peers – cannot speak honestly and openly about his concerns, and do so in places and the company of his choosing, without fear of suppression or other retribution, who among us is safe?

I know these threats firsthand. Even before the international release last year of my short documentary film, Fitna, I have faced constant death threats and protests. My name has appeared on assassination lists. I have been subject of an Al-Qaeda death fatwa. I will be charged with blasphemy and contempt of Muslims by Jordanian prosecutors. I face prosecutions in my own country and elsewhere. I was recently banned from the United Kingdom because the Home Secretary believed my mere presence in the country constituted a national security threat.

In this trying time let us recall that in the darkest hours of World War II, when the world faced a global threat from German Nazism, Italian Fascism and Japanese Imperialism, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill challenged his people to rise to the occasion and fight. He told them, “Never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”

This is why I am in America this week talking about the fight we now must wage in the West to defend our liberties. Freedom of association is one of the basic liberties guaranteed not only by the US Constitution but by the European Convention of Human Rights. And yet CAIR wants to silence and punish Rep. Hasner for associating with me. If America needs a poster child for the threat to our freedoms from Islamic extremism, no better example than CAIR could be found.

This episode underscores that the threat to freedom posed by creeping Shariah imposed by CAIR’s type of stealthy jihad is not just a problem in the Middle East, or Europe. It is also a problem in America.

I will not be bullied by Islamic thugs who want to use our freedoms to destroy those very same freedoms. And I will not stand by as they seek to do it to others.

Founded and directed by members of the international network of the Muslim Brotherhood, CAIR has an explicit agenda to subvert our freedoms and impose Islamic Shariah law on non-Muslims. This is not speculation on my part. This is the testimony of one of CAIR’s founders and chairman emeritus, Omar Ahmed, who told a California audience in 1998 that this was their agenda. “Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant,” he said. “The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America, and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth.” When CAIR officials say that this is their ultimate objective, we should believe them.

In just the past few weeks, the Council on American Islamic Relations has sought to silence another courageous lawmaker, Rep. Peter King, the ranking member on the Homeland Security Committee in the US House of Representatives. His “offense”? Rep. King correctly observed that CAIR and other Muslims were not providing enough assistance to the law enforcement authorities in combating terrorism-related activities in American mosques.

CAIR has attempted to silence other critics, as well. They have sued bloggers; they have defamed journalists who have asked too many questions about their terrorist ties; and they have tried to intimidate publications that have published articles challenging their putative “civil rights mission.” If they get away with it, CAIR will seek to threaten the careers of more politicians with the courage to say things and associate with those of challenge Shariah and the effort to impose it in this country.

It is utterly hypocritical that, on the one hand, CAIR claims to be defending freedom of religion in attacking Rep. Hasner when, on the other, they actively seek support from Islamic regimes that are among the worst of the worst human rights abusers on the planet – and notorious for suppressing religious freedoms.

I have been told that in an Arabic News article that CAIR officials have solicited and received financial support from Saudi Prince Al-Walid Bin Talal, whose country outlaws any religious expression except its own Wahhabi strain of Islam. You can’t even own a Bible or wear a cross in the country run by their patrons, and yet CAIR wants to lecture us about religious freedom?

The land for CAIR’s Capitol Hill office in Washington D.C. was purchased with a $250,000 donation from the Saudi-backed Islamic Development Bank and the deed to their headquarters is held by the foundation of United Arab Emirates Defense Minister Gen. Sheik Mohammed Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum. Sheik al-Maktoum’s country prohibits any non-Islamic religious proselytizing and threatens anyone caught with distribution of non-Muslim religious literature with imprisonment.

In September 2006, CAIR hosted an exclusive dinner with former Iranian President Mohammed Khatami. Under Khatami’s regime religious minorities were severely persecuted, non-Muslims were regularly harassed, and hundreds of student protestors murdered. The fact that CAIR chose to honor this dictator who is still a senior member of the Islamic theocracy in Iran tells us much.

Whether it is in America or back home in my own country, we are under attack by groups like CAIR who aim to silence their critics. This is why I am here in America. I aim to continue to fight regardless of the threats and intimidation and I am asking Americans to join with us. And when they attack good men like Rep. Adam Hasner, we must realize that they are attacking each and every one of us and the freedoms that we hold dear.

Imagine this. An un-indicted co-conspirator in a Texas terror trial and front for the Muslim Brotherhood in America is calling for the resignation of  a great American, Representative Adam Hasner, for appearing at a dinner with the honorable MP Geert Wilders.

So the bullies of Islamic supremacism dare to try to quash America's inalienable right to assembly and speech. Why hasn't this thug group been outlawed as treasonous and seditious?

CAIR's intimidation would be comic if it weren't so tragic. In their statement CAIR whines: "the faith of millions of Americans is denigrated and their rights denied". Now I ask you. Whose rights are being denied? Whose freedom is being destroyed? Infidels and kaffirs have allowed our fundamental rights to be revoked, rescinded, removed in submission to Islam. This statement by CAIR is an outrage. We are mad as hell and we're not going to take it anymore.

Hasner is an excellent man, a natural leader. We need a Congress full of Hasners and we could live in the country our forefathers designed, not the warlord Muhammad.

It is time for Americans to fight back and take back our basic freedoms. Geert Wilders states the obvious and tells the truth. That is not and never will be a crime.

Adam Hasner step down from his leadership post for co-hosting a Florida "Free Speech Summit" criticized as an anti-Islam event. Featured speaker Dutch politician Geert Wilders reportedly said: “ Islam is not a religion. Islam is a totalitarian political ideologue. Islam heart lies at the Qur'an, and the Qur'an is a book that calls for hatred, that calls for violence, for murder, for terrorism, for war, and submission…We should stop pretending that Islam is a religion... the right to religious freedom should not apply to Islam .”

Hasner responded: "I am not going to allow the right to free speech be stifled by a group like CAIR that has legally documented ties to the Muslim Brotherhood - a radical organization that is on record as stating they want to destroy America from within thru the imposition of Sharia law."

Adam Hasner step down from his leadership post for co-hosting a Florida "Free Speech Summit" criticized as an anti-Islam event. Featured speaker Dutch politician Geert Wilders reportedly said: “ Islam is not a religion. Islam is a totalitarian political ideologue. Islam heart lies at the Qur'an, and the Qur'an is a book that calls for hatred, that calls for violence, for murder, for terrorism, for war, and submission…We should stop pretending that Islam is a religion... the right to religious freedom should not apply to Islam .”

Hasner responded: "I am not going to allow the right to free speech be stifled by a group like CAIR that has legally documented ties to the Muslim Brotherhood - a radical organization that is on record as stating they want to destroy America from within thru the imposition of Sharia law."

CAIR Caught Selling Jihadist & Anti-Judeo/Christian books to Public

ACT (Jacksonville) has caught on tape the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR - Orlando chapter), selling radical Jihadist material by Sayyid Q'utb (the father of modern day Jihad) at a CAIR recruiting event in Central Florida.

If that wasn't enough, they were also selling hard core anti-Judeo-Christian books to children. One such book titled "Let the Bible Speak" states, "Thus you saw the bible spoke, do you still think it is His [God's] bible? These words of blasphemy are written by some liar. May God burn his fingers which wrote falsely these words."

US Hamas-Funding Group Protests Geert Wilders Free Speech Award

Last year when the world guilty was read a total of 108 times in a Dallas court room as a jury convicted the Holy Land foundation and each of the defendants of raising money to fund Hamas terrorism, they were implicating CAIR also.The supposed Human rights organization was an unindicted co-conspirator in the case. Indeed one key piece of evidence was the Wiretap evidence that put CAIR's former executive director, Nihad Awad, at a Philadelphia meeting of Hamas leaders. Participants hatched a plot to deceive Americans and disguise payments to Hamas as it launched a campaign of terror attacks. CAIR co-founder Omar Ahmad also joined Hamas big shots at the summit.

Next Monday there is scheduled to be a Free Speech Summit in Del Rey Florida, where Geert Wilders is supposed to speak and receive an award, the summit is put together by a group that includes ACT! for America, Liberty Legal Project,Frank Gaffney, Atlas Shrugs, Rep Adam Hasner,International Free Press Society, Joe Kaufman Americans Against Hate among many others.

Cair is not happy with Fitna, 15-minute film created by Wilders' that shows how verses from the Qur'an are being used today to incite modern Muslims to behave violently and anti-democratically based. Strangely the video is called anti-Muslim even though it all comes from the Qur'an.

HAMAS fundraiser/Crooner Monzer Taleb Speaking at CAIR fundraiser, sang about killing Jews

As part of Al-Sakhra, Monzer Taleb sang of violence, terror and hatred. Dallas-based investigative reporter Todd Bensman described the group of terror crooners in his article, “HAMAS Rock Stars,” as follows:

CAIR was named unindicted co-conspirator in the recently concluded Holy Land Foundation terrorism finance trial, which resulted in guilty verdicts on all 108 counts against the defendants. During the trial, FBI Agent Lara Burns testified that CAIR was a front for HAMAS. As a result of the substantial evidence presented during the trial tying CAIR to the international Islamic terrorist network, the FBI recently cut its ties to CAIR, as has the Columbus Police Department and Police Academy.

According to an affidavit for a search warrant, Niazi, who was born in Kabul, Afghanistan, failed to reveal that his sister is married to Amin al-Haq, who has allegedly served as a bodyguard for al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden.

Al-Haq was designated as a specially designated global terrorist by the U.S. Treasury Office of Foreign Asset Control following the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

The Council for American Islamic Relations - Greater Los Angeles has retaliated at the arrest of Ahmadullah Sais Niazi with a character assassination attack on Assistant US Attorney Deirdre Eliot, who heads up counter-terror prosecutions in Orange County, CA.

CAIR associate Mona Shadia, who bills herself as a student and "professional journalist" has written a series of articles on the subject, including one that accuses Eliot of "supporting a right-wing group that has promoted anti-Islamic rhetoric on its Web sites". Eliot's offense? A $2,000 donation in 2004 to the Lincoln Club of Orange County. The Lincoln Club is considered a mainstream Republican organization. The attacks may go beyond character assassination. The article in the Southern California InFocus News magazine, the largest Muslim publication in the area, includes a link to a page with Eliot's home address. http://www.infocusnews.net/content/view/30687/135/ The man Eliot is prosecuting is the brother-in-law of Osama bin Laden's bodyguard. Is the magazine intentionally threatening Eliot's physical safety? Although it appears that Eliot is not allowed free expression of her beliefs, Mona Shadia certainly is utilizing her freedom of speech extensively.

SANTA ANA, Calif. - Assistant U.S. Attorney Deirdre Eliot, who told a federal magistrate that Ahmadullah Niazi, brother-in-law of an alleged bodyguard of Osama bin Laden, is a terrorist-sympathizer, runs the risk of being guilty by association herself for supporting a right-wing group that has promoted anti-Islamic rhetoric on its Web sites.

In 2004, Eliot gave $2,000 in political contributions to the Lincoln Club of Orange County, a conservative organization with chapters throughout California. The Orange County chapter's newsletters are riddled with topics on "fundamentalist Islam" and "radical Islamists."

Brigitte Gabriel, an anti-Muslim advocate, who's been described by the New York Times Magazine as a "radical Islamophobe," was invited to speak at one of the group's events. On the group's Ventura County chapter Web site, articles and letters are posted by writers who claim that Islam is a danger to society's development and progress. Another article claims that Western Europe has but two options: "Submission, Islam, or death."

"It is a serious flag when a government prosecutor of Ms. Eliot's position and role is associated with a group that is clearly promoting anti-Muslim bigotry in its most hateful form," said Hussam Ayloush, executive director of the Greater Los Angeles-area chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. "Her generous contribution to a group that is spreading Islamophobia and her refusal to repudiate or disassociate herself from its views sends an unspoken yet strong message on how she views Muslims and about her possible personal biases in driving this case against members of the Muslim community." ...

In fact, Shadia is quite outspoken on various social networking sites, including MySpace and Facebook, where she openly shows her affiliation with CAIR and her anti-Israel beliefs. Objectivity does not seem important to her, based on the quote on her MySpace page, where she states "There are some situations one simply cannot be neutral about, because when you are neutral you are an accomplice. Objectivity doesn't mean treating all sides equally. It means giving each side a hearing," quoting CNN journalist Christiane Amanpour.

On her Facebook profile, she clearly states that CAIR is one of her "causes".

 

She includes among her friends Hussam Ayloush and his wife Arwa. Ayloush is executive director of the Greater Los Angeles-area chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. It's clear from some of the postings on Shadia's wall that she and the Ayloushes are personal friends.

Shadia, who was born in Egypt, celebrated her third anniversary of US citizenship earlier this month. Yet she seems to have no hesitation criticizing the US government - claiming that "they suck".

CAIR's Minnesota chapter invited the FBI director to a recent mosque open house to discuss allegations against community members and to hear about claims of "profiling" by agents.

 

In State Legislatures

 

In Oklahoma and Minnesota, CAIR chapters are challenging proposed legislation that would deny a Muslim woman wearing hijab, or people of other faiths who wear religious head coverings, from obtaining a driver's license.

 

Yesterday in Minnesota, representatives of CAIR’s chapter there met with the sponsor of the legislation targeting head coverings who told them the amended bill would have a religious exemption.

 

The proposed Oklahoma bill banning head coverings was introduced following a successful campaign by CAIR's chapter in that state to allow hijab in driver's license photos.

 

In Banks

 

Also recently in California, CAIR chapters defended Muslim women who were denied service at two banks in that state because they wear hijab.

 

Just yesterday, the Washington Post carried a story about CAIR's role in defending another Muslim woman who was twice taken out of a waiting line at a Maryland bank because of her hijab.

 

Today’s Post notes that the bank was forced to apologize to the Muslim customer.

INFILTRATION: CAIR ELECTS STATE SENATOR SHAW AS BOARD CHAIRMAN

It's upon us. Big time. CAIR has elected State Senator Larry Shaw as board chair to "partner" with the Hussein administration. Shaw is the same future jihadi who traveled with CAIR officials to Saudi Arabia last June. From ZTruth:

Nihad Awad, the executive director and co-founder of the Council of American Islamic Relations, an organization linked to the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas by the federal government,  traveled to Saudi Arabia to attend a meeting organized by King Abdullah on the need for interfaith dialog. At the conference King Abdullah declared Islam is the greatest religion and blasted those who are concerned about Islamic violence:

"How great the status of the Islamic Ummah is but how difficult time it is when the enemies of Islam are attaching extremism, militancy and terrorism with the Muslim!"

Note the King's comments are similar to the words Muslim leaders in the U.S. use - don't link Islam with violence.  There have been nearly 12,000 violent Islamic attacks since 9/11 and the international nature of these attacks are unprecedented in history.   So why aren't they wailing that the enemies of Islam are those who carry out these attacks?  Instead they call those who've paid attention Islam's enemy.  Oh, the trickery of Islamists.

Other American Muslim leaders participating in the conference, included CAIR National Board Member Larry Shaw, a state senator (D) from North Carolina, according to CAIR. 

Yusef Qaradawi, the spiritual leader of the Muslim Brotherhood also attended the conference which included only Muslims.  Qaradawi, banned from the U.S. in 1999 for his support of terrorism, who now reaches his flocthrough his website called Islamonline.  Islamonline often highlights CAIR's Islamic advances in the U.S. 

Shaw's hatefest included Yusef Qaradawi, who makes sermons celebrating the holocaust and praying for the killing of all Jews. And Qaradawi has been banned in the US.

Worth wrote of Susan Elbaneh’s fugitive cousin last March; he mentioned her death, name, and hometown last September while reporting on the bombing of our embassy in Yemen yet made no mention of Jaber Elbaneh; and their names and the latter’s connection to the Lackawanna Six were missing from his reports last week about two former Guantanamo detainees reuniting with al Qaeda in Yemen and their being suspected in that same attack upon our embassy.

American girl Susan Elbaneh was murdered by al Qaeda and reporters from in and near her hometown actually began doing their jobs back as far as September 18, 2008:

A Lackawanna High School student who traveled to Yemen to be married last month was one of the victims of a terrorist bombing Wednesday at the U. S. Embassy in Yemen, the woman’s school principal said. Attackers armed with automatic weapons, rocket-propelled grenades and at least one suicide car bomb assaulted the compound in the Yemeni capital of Sana. Officials listed the 16 people killed as six assailants, six guards and four civilians. Susan Elbaneh, 18, was killed, along with her Yemeni husband, as they stood outside the embassy, family members said Wednesday. They were apparently there to do paperwork for the husband’s move to the U. S. when the attackers struck, said Elbaneh’s brother, Ahmed.

The Associated Press said Elbaneh had been in Yemen for a month for the arranged wedding Aug. 25. School officials said Elbaneh was the daughter of Ali T. Elbaneh and the niece of Mohamed T. Albanna, two Yemeni-American community leaders who took plea deals in a case involving an unlicensed money-transmitting company that illegally sent at least $5.5 million to Yemen. Authorities never have alleged that the money was used for terrorist purposes. In November 2006, U. S. District Judge William M. Skretny sentenced Ali T. Elbaneh to six months of home confinement for playing what federal prosecutors called a very minor role in the illegal business. Albanna received a five-year prison term. Authorities said the dead woman also was related to Jaber Elbaneh [Ed. — that is the FBI’s bulletin], Mohamed Albanna’s nephew, a fugitive accused of traveling to a terrorist training camp in Afghanistan with the “Lackawanna Six.”

SOUTHFIELD -- Muslims and interfaith leaders in Metro Detroit are asking a local radio station owner to discontinue broadcasts in which, they say, a Coptic priest has repeatedly defamed the Prophet Muhammad over the past year.

In an Arabic-language broadcast Wednesday on WNZK 680/690 AM, the Rev. Zakariah Boutros said the Muslim prophet Muhammad had engaged in necrophilia and gay sex, according to the Council on American Islamic Relations.

Boutros has previously come under fire from area Muslims, who say he disparages Islam. The controversial, American-based priest can be heard on purchased time slots on radio stations internationally. His words have stirred controversy in Egypt and Great Britain, and are embraced by a number of bloggers and Web sites that criticize Islam.

Amani Mostafa, who hosts the program "Questions About Faith" on which Boutros spoke Thursday, said Boutros was "reading from an Islamic text" when he said, over the air, that the Prophet Muhammad slept in the grave of a dead woman and allowed a man to kiss and caress his chest.

"I am a former Muslim," said Mostafa, who is now Christian. "I know exactly what I am talking about. These are the things we were taught as children. We are quoting the Quran and the Hadiths, and if the Muslims have a problem with that then they have a problem with their own book."

Hadiths are Muhammad's saying or writings, as reported by his followers.
Muslims say that no such wording appears in the Quran or the Hadiths.

"If that's their excuse, it's lame," said Dawud Walid, of CAIR, which distributed a "national alert" Thursday asking Muslims to contact the radio station to express concerns about the broadcast. CAIR also counseled Muslims to be "firm but polite.

Hostile comments can and will be used to further defame Islam and Muslims."

Sima Birach, who owns the station, said he had received some complaints on Thursday, though he said he did not know how many.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has cut off contacts with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) amid mounting concern about the Muslim advocacy group's roots in a Hamas-support network, the Investigative Project on Terrorism has learned.

The decision to end contacts with CAIR was made quietly last summer as federal prosecutors prepared for a second trial of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF), an Islamic charity accused of providing money and political support to the terrorist group Hamas, according to people with knowledge of the matter.

CAIR and its chairman emeritus, Omar Ahmad, were named un-indicted co-conspirators in the HLF case. Both Ahmad and CAIR's current national executive director, Nihad Awad, were revealed on government wiretaps as having been active participants in early Hamas-related organizational meetings in the United States. During testimony, FBI agent Lara Burns described CAIR as a front organization.

Hamas is a US-designated foreign terrorist organization, and it's been illegal since 1995 to provide support to it within the United States.

The decision to end contacts with CAIR is a significant policy change for the FBI. For years, the FBI worked with the national organization and its state chapters to address Muslim community concerns about the potential for hate crimes and other civil liberty violations in the wake of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

But critics said the FBI improperly conferred legitimacy on CAIR by meeting with its officials, even as its own investigative files contained evidence of CAIR leaders' ties to Hamas.

Last autumn, FBI field offices began notifying state CAIR chapters that bureau officials could no longer meet with them until CAIR's national leadership in Washington had addressed issues raised by the HLF trial, according to people with knowledge of the notifications.

CAIR spokesman Ibrahim Hooper declined to comment Wednesday when the IPT called for comment. Before hanging up, Hooper said "We're more than happy to cooperate with legitimate media. But we don't cooperate with those who promote anti-Muslim bigotry."

In one letter obtained by IPT News, James E. Finch, Special Agent in Charge of the FBI's Oklahoma City field office, canceled a meeting of the local Muslim Community Outreach Program, a state-federal program designed to enlist Muslims in terrorism prevention and investigate reports of civil liberties violations.

"Regrettably, due to circumstances beyond my control, the meeting will be postponed until further notice as a result of the planned participation by the Oklahoma chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations," Finch's Oct. 8, 2008 letter to Muslim groups in the Oklahoma outreach program said.

Finch made clear the Oklahoma office valued its relationship with local Muslims. He said the stumbling block to further outreach was CAIR's national leadership.

"[I]f CAIR wishes to pursue an outreach relationship with the FBI, certain issues must be addressed to the satisfaction of the FBI. Unfortunately, these issues cannot be addressed at the local level and must be addressed by the CAIR National Office in Washington, D.C.," the letter said.

A spokesman for the FBI's Oklahoma City office referred questions about the letter to the FBI's national press office. In Washington, FBI spokesman John Miller said, "We've certainly been in contact with CAIR chapters" about the un-indicted co-conspirator designation. "The letter speaks for itself."

Letters with similar wording were sent in other states, people with knowledge of the matter said. It is not known how many letters were issued, but the FBI has had strong working relationships with CAIR chapters in states including Ohio, Michigan, Arizona and Florida.

Hamas was formed in 1987 as the Palestinian wing of the Muslim Brotherhood, the global Islamic political movement that aims to spread the rule of Shariah, or Islamic law, throughout the world.

A North American branch of the Brotherhood supervised HLF, CAIR and other organizations to build political, financial and public relations support for Hamas, evidence at the HLF trial showed.

The U.S.-based Brotherhood formed a Palestine Committee, headed by Hamas official Mousa Abu Marzook, in 1988 during the first intifada uprising in Palestinian territories against Israel. Hamas's stated policy is for the destruction of Israel.

CAIR co-founders Ahmad and Awad were early active members of the Palestine Committee, evidence showed. Wiretaps recorded the two CAIR leaders participating in strategy meetings of the committee in the 1990s, and both were also on a phone list of its members, the evidence showed.

CAIR: OBAMA'S SILENCE LETS HIM ASSESS CONFLICT, REACTION - TOP

President-elect Barack Obama's silence during the early days of Israel's bombardment of the Gaza Strip speaks volumes about the complexity of the Middle East crisis that he will soon inherit and may preserve some of his options for when he is able to act on his own - outside the shadows of President Bush.

Obama cannot come out and stand with the Jews. Wow.

U.S. Jewish groups beckoned Monday for a sign of support for Israel from the incoming president while a prominent Muslim group sought a condemnation for a military response that it viewed as excessive. Yet Mr. Obama remained silent as he vacationed in Hawaii, leaving the U.S. response thus far as the Bush administration's unequivocal support for the Jewish state. . .

On the other side of the debate, Muslim groups in the U.S. criticized Mr. Obama for not condemning Israeli actions, saying the president-elect campaigned on promises to change Bush policy in the region.

"It's more of a concern to us that he hasn't come out to condemn the Israeli massacre in Gaza," said Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations. "We are hoping for a change in our one-sided policy in the region, and we are looking to President-elect Obama to maintain his commitment to change the Bush administration policy."

CAIR-LA: SOCAL MUSLIMS PROTEST ISRAEL'S EFFORTS AGAINST HAMAS - TOP

Islamic leaders in Los Angeles lashed out at Israel on Tuesday for what they called a "barbaric attack" on the Hamas-controlled Gaza Strip, and announced a $3 million fundraising effort to provide humanitarian aid to Palestinian victims.

About 100 people gathered outside the Federal Building in Westwood late in the day as persons opposed to the military action made their voices heard in afternoon traffic. Another protest was underway outside the Israeli Consulate on Wilshire Boulevard east of Beverly Hills, where Los Angeles police kept two groups of chanting protestors and supporters separate.

"The amount of suffering is totally unacceptable under any pretext," said Maher Hathout, senior adviser to the Muslim Public Affairs Council, at a morning news conference.

But a spokesman for the Israeli government in Los Angeles said the nation is only defending itself after Hamas unilaterally ended the cease fire, a shaky agreement that Palestinians said was supposed to end a crippling blockade.

"Israel's disproportionate response is cruel and unacceptable to any human being by any standards," Hathout said. "This is not the way to change government."

Muslim-American community leaders announced their support for a multimillion-dollar national fundraising campaign by Islamic Relief USA to provide humanitarian aid to Palestinian victims.

As part of the effort, Friday prayer meetings at more than 70 mosques throughout Southern California will be dedicated to victims of the attacks. There are an estimated 650,000 Muslims living in Southern California.

"This is an illegal bombardment by Israel. It is barbaric and it's even more barbaric that it's being done by the Bush Administration," said Hussam Ayloush of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

"There's no doubt that Israel's propaganda machine is working by blaming the victims," he said. "Gaza's people are prisoners in their own land. We depend on the help of the American people." (MORE)

CAIR-TX: RALLY IN DOWNTOWN DALLAS PROTESTS ISRAELI ATTACKS ON GAZA - TOP

Hundreds of protesters chanting "Free Palestine" gathered in downtown Dallas on Tuesday to demand an end to what they called terrorism against Gaza.

A spokesman for a local Jewish organization denounced the protesters' claims of terrorism and defended Israel's recent strikes as a defensive measure against Hamas, which the U.S. has designated a terrorist organization.

In a peaceful demonstration at Dealey Plaza, men, women and young children held signs with a variety of slogans including "Stop the Holocaust in Gaza" and "Israel is the Real Terrorist."

In response to rocket attacks on southern Israel, the government began air assaults Saturday on Hamas-ruled Gaza. Four Israelis have died, and more than 370 Palestinians have been killed.

In a speech to the crowd, Mustafaa Carroll, executive director of the Dallas-Fort Worth chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, called for an end to the "bombardment" of Gaza. He said residents have been denied food, water and other necessities.

"Palestine must be given some hope of freedom from Israeli occupation," he said.

The Rev. Charles Stovall, senior pastor of Munger Place United Methodist Church, also appealed for Israel to stop the strikes.

"This is not a Muslim issue. This is not a Jewish issue," he said. "This is an issue of humanitarian rights."

The crowd cheered at his words and chanted: "Occupation is a crime." (MORE)

CAIR-MN: MUSLIMS URGE SEN. KLOBUCHAR TO CONDEMN ISRAELI ASSAULT - TOP

U.S. Sen. Amy Klobuchar, meeting with more than 40 critics of the Israeli assault on the Gaza Strip, said Tuesday that she would push for humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza and favored a cease-fire, but she refused to condemn the Israeli offensive.

The meeting, which was polite but tense, culminated a day of demonstrations by protest groups that picketed the building on Washington Avenue South in Minneapolis where Klobuchar has her office. Earlier in the day, about 70 people held a rally in the building's lobby.

A small protest was held outside Sen. Norm Coleman's Twin Cities office, said Mary Beaudoin, director of Women Against Military Madness, who was there. And two or three protesters went to U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum's office and met with her district manager, McCollum spokeswoman Cleve Mesidor said. . .

During the afternoon rally, Humaira Afzal, communications director of the Minnesota chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations, appealed to Minnesota's congressional delegation to mount pressure to end the conflict, saying the bombing of Gaza will fuel hatred of America and American interests "and will be used by extremists to recruit more individuals and justify their attacks."

CAIR-KY: LEXINGTON VIGIL PROTESTS ISRAELI AIRSTRIKES AGAINST GAZA - TOP

A group of nearly 100 protesters gathered in Triangle Park Tuesday night for a candlelight vigil in opposition to Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.

The purpose of the event was "to show the support for the victims who are being killed," said Jamil Farooqui, president of the Islamic Society of Central Kentucky. "They are innocent."

More than 370 Palestinians have been killed and more than 1,400 injured in four days of Israeli airstrikes against Gaza.

A six-month cease-fire between Israel and Hamas, a militant group that seized control of Gaza in 2007, broke down earlier this month. Hamas says Israel has breached agreements by imposing a painful economic blockade on Gaza and staging military strikes.

But Israel says it has grown weary of the more than 10,000 rockets and mortar shells that have been fired into the country from Gaza since 2001.

Farooqui said the protesters hoped to urge the U.S. government to help bring an end to the fighting.

"Both parties need to come on one page," he said. "We need to go back to the cease-fire and start the peace process again."

The Islamic Society of Central Kentucky co-sponsored the event along with the Council on American-Islamic Relations and the University of Kentucky Muslim Student Association.

"It's not something that we can turn off and just forget," said Fatima Shalash, a member of the board of the Council on American-Islamic Relations and a lead organizer of the vigil. "They're fighting for their lives." (MORE)

CAIR-ST. LOUIS: AREA STUDENTS CONTINUE ISRAEL TRIP DESPITE WAR - TOP

In Ballwin Tuesday, Muslims gathered at the Daar-ul-Islam mosque where leaders denounced both Hamas and Israel for the violence, especially the civilian deaths.

"This is a great tragedy we are facing," said the mosque's imam, Mufti Minhajuddin Ahmed. "We cannot face our own consciences today, or God tomorrow, if we allow violence like this to occur without speaking up and doing all we can to bring an end to violence from both sides."

Ghazala Hayat, a professor of neurology at St. Louis University, said the members of the mosque were united in their criticism of both Israel and Hamas. "The violence against the innocent people of Israel and the violence being done against the innocent people of Gaza is doing damage for any possibility for lasting peace," she said. "The kinds of images we're seeing ... gives fuel to the extremists on both sides."

Khaled Hamid, a member of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, criticized what he said was Israel's over-reaction.

CAIR-PA: PHILA. MARCHERS PROTEST ISRAELI ATTACKS - TOP

Chanting "Long Live Palestine" and bearing signs calling for an end to the bombing, hundreds of pro-Palestinian demonstrators marched on City Hall yesterday to protest recent Israeli attacks on Gaza.

The predominantly Arab-American crowd carried Palestinian and American flags, and many wore traditional kaffiyehs around their necks or on their heads.

After gathering at the Israeli consulate at 19th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard at 4 p.m, they marched down the boulevard, snarling rush-hour traffic as they circled City Hall and echoed the chants of a man with a bullhorn.

On the plaza on the north side of City Hall, several speakers denounced the Israeli air strikes, which have killed more than 370 Palestinians since they began Saturday.

"I'm here to give moral support and to promote awareness in the city of this humanitarian crisis," said Marwa El-Turky, 25, of Queen Village, who works for the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Yesterday's demonstration followed a smaller demonstration Monday. The call went out largely through e-mail and text messages, organizers said, and many of the demonstrators appeared to be in their 20s and 30s.

Among the groups represented, besides the Asian Federation, were the Palestinian American National Conference, the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, and the Muslim American Society, organizers said.

Many demonstrators were of Palestinian, Jordanian, Egyptian, Libyan and Syrian descent. But the crowd also included Christians and sympathetic Jews, including Matt Ginsberg, 26, a Spanish medical interpreter from Chicago who was visiting friends in Germantown. He was carrying a sign that said "Zionism = Imperialism = Endless War = Genocide."

SAN DIEGO Hundreds of people gathered in downtown San Diego today to call for an end to Israel's repeated airstrikes on Gaza and mounting casualties in the region.

By 5 p.m., more than 300 people had assembled at Broadway and Front Street, shouting chants, waving Palestinian flags and holding handwritten signs. One banner read: "Stop the Massacre in Gaza."

The rally, one of many around the country yesterday, was arranged by several local religious, human-rights and other activist groups, organizers said. The purpose of the event, they said, was to "protest Israel's aggression against the people of Gaza" and to educate the public about the conflict.

The Israeli military began bombing Hamas-ruled Gaza on Saturday. The government has said the goal is to stop rocket attacks on southern Israel.

Edgar Hopida, a spokesman for the San Diego Chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said the attacks are "a human problem, not a Palestinian problem." (MORE)

As Israel kept up its string of attacks on Gaza for a fourth day that has killed hundreds and injured hundreds more through air attacks, US President George W. Bush leaned on Palestinian leaders to urge Hamas to stop firing rockets into Israel.

Israel has said it will not cease its assault until Hamas stops firing missiles into its territory.

White House spokesman Gordon Johndroe said yesterday in Crawford, Texas that Bush telephoned Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and Prime Minister Salam Fayyad to discuss a "sustainable cease-fire" in the Gaza Strip.

"They agreed that for any cease-fire to be effective, it must be respected, particularly by Hamas," he told reporters.

The Muslims have turned Gaza into a terror state - the Jews wouldn't be caught dead in Gaza now. The Muslims have to learn to wipe themselves and do something other than kill and destroy.

CAIR: MUSLIM COALITION REQUESTS MORE INCLUSION IN NEW ADMINISTRATION - TOP

WASHINGTON (CNN) The American Muslim Taskforce for Civil Rights and Elections called on President-elect Barack Obama for greater Muslim outreach during his administration as well as assisting in ending the deteriorating situation in Gaza and the Middle East.

"We demand that our government, the U.S. government, take immediate steps to end the immoral and illegal Israeli bombardment of Gaza and its population," said Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

The AMT also said the United States must look at any violations of international and domestic law that occurred as a result of the ongoing Israeli military operations in Gaza.

In a news conference Monday, the coalition of prominent national Muslim groups underlined its policy recommendations for the new administration.

"We are approaching our incoming administration on four key issues: inclusion and access, policy development, personnel appointment and partnership for peace," said Agha Saeed, chairman of the American Muslim Task Force on Civil Rights and Elections.

Citing a survey commissioned by the task force, the organization said this year's election saw the biggest turnout of American Muslims ever reported that 89 percent of those who voted cast a ballot for Obama.

Speaking at the press conference, Senator Larry Shaw (D-N.C.) called the Muslim community an untapped resource that the Obama administration should not forget about. (MORE)

As Israel launched a fresh wave of airstrikes into the Palestinian territory of Gaza Monday, pressure mounted on President-elect Barack Obama to announce his policy on the conflict.

American Islamic leaders issued a call for the president-elect to take a stronger stance in the conflict, asking him to reverse the "blank-check" policy they say the Bush Administration has given Israel. However, Jewish Democratic leaders say they don't expect a Obama to make radical changes in U.S. policy towards Israel.

Meanwhile, Obama, who will take office on January 20th, has delayed taking a stance on the issue as long as President George Bush remains in the White House.

Nihad Awad, executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, told RTTNews in an interview that he hopes the Obama administration will end the "blank check" of understanding the Bush Administration has issued to Israel.

"George Bush decided to give Israel the go-ahead to destroy Palestinians and Gaza," Awad said, speaking after a press conference in Washington. "That is also destroying the ability of America to engage in the peace process that would be based on equality and even-handedness."

He added, "It will make it difficult for Barack Obama to appeal to the Muslim world."

Awad said that he hoped Obama would "have the courage" to bring his mantra of change to discussions of U.S. policy in the Middle East and embark on a new path that treats all parties to the peace as equals and to use U.S. leverage with Israel to push a more moderate approach.

"The problem is in the policies," he said. "If we change the policies then envoys and special envoys - these people are willing to engage both sides and bring to the table both sides with their arguments and see what on earth they should be doing."

He added, "Today, America has sided with Israel blindly at the expense of American interests. It is time to protect America's interests and American values by being true to our friends and say, 'We are not going to get a blank check.'" (MORE)

CAIR-OH: DNA COLLECTION CRIMINALIZES DETAINEES - TOP

Beginning Jan. 9, those detained for suspected immigration violations will have to submit DNA samples for an FBI-maintained database, as do violent criminals. The new Department of Justice rule is another step toward marginalizing noncitizens in the name of security.

Under the rule, federal employees are required to take cheek swabs or blood samples from individuals being held in federal detention centers for overstaying a visa or losing the job that had allowed them legal access to the United States, or for having illegally crossed the border.

Lowering the legal threshold to collect personal data from those detained on suspicion of, rather than conviction of, immigration violations is a dangerous precedent that denies noncitizens one of our most treasured American rights - the right to privacy. . .

Take the case of Julia Shearson, an American citizen who was handcuffed and detained while returning from a weekend vacation at the Canadian border in January 2006 when her name triggered an "armed and dangerous" alert on the Border Patrol console. She sued to find out why. After tens of thousands of dollars in legal fees, she still doesn't know how or why her name was in the database, but believes it has to do with her job as the executive director of the Cleveland-area Council on American-Islamic Relations. As we gather to celebrate the birth of Christ from a religious perspective, it is also worth pausing to consider what structure civilization would have attained, had he not come.

When large groups of people live together in close proximity, there must exist a code of conduct separate from the law, which establishes how we interact with each other. Are we polite, or are we rude? Are we refined, or are we vulgar? Are we truthful, or do we lie? Do we tip the waitress, or do we stiff her? Are we honest, or do we steal? Are we respectful of other people’s things, or do we abuse them? Are we true to our spouse, or do we cheat?

A nation of upright citizens thrives; a nation of vulgar, lying, dishonest cheats, declines.

I said it is important to think about it because things of value can slip away in the night if they are not guarded. Currently the America we love is facing two significant threats, one internal, the other both internal and external.

The internal threat is from a tiny, well-placed minority of antichristians who stay up nights crafting schemes to convince us, against all historical evidence, that we are not a Christian nation, and that our biblical rulebook no longer has any place in society.

But the jihadists particularly despise democracy…

The internal-external threat is like no other we have ever faced. It is from Islam. While Christianity preaches peace, the Quran preaches conquest by force of arms. Douglas Feith, undersecretary of defense for policy from July 2001 to August 2005, states:

“Jihadist leaders declare that the aim of their holy war is not to alter specific policies of their enemies, but rather to establish a universal Muslim state. Fighting and killing to implement this apocalyptic vision, they have a long list of grievances and hatreds, including against the rulers of most Muslim countries…But the jihadists particularly despise democracy.

They believe law-making and self-government by human beings is blasphemous, an affront to the sovereignty of God, who is the only proper source of legislation.”

Christ, on the other hand, was perfectly content to leave world affairs to people, and therefore this antidemocratic sentiment does not exist in Christian countries like America.

Geert Wilders, a Dutch politician, writes of a growing threat to his native Holland by immigrants from Muslim countries who do not share Western values. He desires to end Muslim immigration to the Netherlands, and warns the West of the need to diligently defend our principles.

On a recent trip to Europe, I spent numerous hours discussing the Muslim problem with an Austrian who travels extensively throughout Europe. He echoed Wilders fears, predicting widespread civil turmoil in many of Europe’s cities in the not-to-distant future.

In order to chart a course for the future, we must first remember who we were, review who we are now, and consider the national structure we want to bequeath to our children and grandchildren. We were and are both a democratic and Christian nation in our fundamental structure. If we desire for America to remain thus, we must first recognize the current threats, and then develop the will to stand against those who are undermining them, those who detest what we cherish.

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 12/27/08) - A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today condemned Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip that left more than 200 people dead and called the death toll a "massacre carried out using U.S. taxpayer-funded weapons." More than 700 people, including women and children, were injured in the attacks.

Yerushalmi: CAIR is a criminal organization and its days are numbered. The Holy Land Foundation conviction was a serious blow. We also know from our investigation that CAIR has many other vulnerabilities. When we get into discovery, we will follow the path chosen by those sued by CAIR and who simply wanted the nightmare to end. In this case, we are CAIR’s worst nightmare. And, once we get a judgment, the DC Bar Association will pick up its investigation and we can only surmise the U.S. Attorney’s office is also taking a close look at how this unfolds. Much rides on this civil suit.

One of the important discoveries emanating from the lawsuit by former CAIR clients against CAIR for fraud and racketeering is the fact that the law firm prosecuting this lawsuit (Law Offices of David Yerushalmi) discovered that CAIR's corporate charter in the District of Columbia had been revoked as of September 8, 2008. That means pursuant to DC law that the only thing CAIR can do is engage in those necessary acts to dissolve the corporation and to distribute its assets (and to defend itself in litigation for fraud and racketeering).

But it also means per the IRS code, that CAIR is no longer a valid 501c3 tax exempt organization because it is no longer a valid organization (see here).

A jury on Monday determined that the Holy Land Foundation and five men who worked with the Muslim charity were guilty of three dozen counts related to the illegal funneling of at least $12 million to the Palestinian terrorist group Hamas. The unanimous verdicts are a complete victory for the government, which streamlined its case and worked hard to carefully educate jurors on the complex, massive evidence presented in the trial.

The prosecution's victory is also a major one for the lame duck administration of President George W. Bush, whose efforts at fighting terrorism financing in court have been troubled, even though the flow of funds seems to be effectively shut down.

It was the second trial where the government attempted to convict the men and the now-defunct, Richardson-based Holy Land Foundation itself. It took the jury eight days of deliberations to reach its decisions – less than half the time it took jurors to deadlock end up with an almost complete mistrial last year on the first go-around.

Before he read the verdict, the judge had ordered all observers to remain civil and respect the proceedings.

CAIR Sued by Former Clients for Racketeering, Fraud, & Breach of Fiduciary Duties

November 24, 2008 – Washington, DC:Four clients of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) have filed a federal civil complaint alleging criminal fraud and racketeering against CAIR, a self-described public interest civil rights law firm. The lawsuit also names CAIR’s national leadership as individual defendants.

The defendants were served with the complaint and summons to appear while attending the CAIR 14th Annual Dinner Sunday night in Arlington, Virginia. Congressman Ellison (D-Minn) was a guest speaker at this affair.

The lawsuit, filed in the United States District Court for the District of Columbia, alleges that Morris Days, the “Resident Attorney” and “Manager for Civil Rights” at the now defunct CAIR MD/VA chapter in Herndon, Virginia, was in fact not an attorney and that he failed to provide legal services for clients who came to CAIR for assistance and who had paid for CAIR legal services.

While attorney David Yerushalmi represents the four plaintiffs in this particular lawsuit, two of whom are African American Muslims, the complaint alleges that according to CAIR internal documents, there were hundreds of victims of the CAIR-Days fraud scheme.

According to the complaint, CAIR failed to conduct a background check on Days prior to hiring him and when they did discover his massive fraud, they immediately set about to cover it up. CAIR officials purposefully concealed the truth about Days from their clients, law enforcement, the Virginia and D.C. state bar associations, and the media. When CAIR did get irate calls from clients about Days’ failure to provide competent legal services, CAIR fraudulently deceived their clients about Days’ relationship to CAIR, suggesting he was never actually employed by CAIR, and even concealed the fact that CAIR had fired him for criminal fraud.

“The evidence has long suggested that CAIR is a criminal organization set up by the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas to further its aims of stealth Jihad in the U.S.,” Mr. Yerushalmi said referring to the fact that CAIR has been named by the federal government as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terror financing trial.

“But our investigation and this complaint make clear that CAIR’s criminal activities know no bounds,” Yerushalmi continued.

“According to the facts as carefully laid out in this complaint,” Yerushalmi explained, “CAIR has engaged in a massive cover-up of a criminal fraud in which literally hundreds of CAIR clients have been victimized and because of the CAIR cover-up they still don’t realize it. The fact that CAIR has victimized Muslims and non-Muslims alike demonstrates that CAIR is only looking out for CAIR and its ongoing effort to bilk donors out of millions of dollars of charitable donations thinking they are supporting a legitimate organization.”

The complaint also alleges that in addition to covering up the Days fraud scheme, CAIR officials in D.C. forced angry clients who were demanding a return of their legal fees to sign a release that bought the client-victims’ silence by prohibiting them from informing law enforcement or the media about the CAIR-Days fraud. According to the agreement, if the “settling” clients said anything to anyone about the fraud scheme, CAIR would be able to sue them for $25,000.

This enforced code of silence left hundreds of CAIR client-victims in the dark such that to this day they have not learned that Days is not an attorney and that he had not filed the legal actions on their behalf for which Days and CAIR publicly claimed credit.

"Muslim Americans for Obama", the sponsor of these events, is unquestionably a partisan organization, and thus, any participation by these mosques is illegal and violates their tax exempt status. Additionally, since the Muslim Americans for Obama announcement says that these voter registration drives are intended to "get out the vote for Sen. Obama", they are considered partisan (i.e. intended to benefit a specific candidate) under the law and illegal on that basis as well - in addition to the fact that these events are sponsored by a partisan organization.

The group, Muslim Americans for Obama, has announced a series of “get out the vote” events at mosques in Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, New Jersey, Virginia, and Ohio this week during Ramadan celebrations. As can be seen in the announcement reprinted below, the organization admits these are “get out the vote” events masquerading as “voter registration”:

Muslim Americans for Obama will be working to get out the vote for Sen. Obama, and they need help registering voters! Volunteers need not be Muslim, though appropriate attire is advised (no sleeveless tops; long pants and ankle-length skirts recommended).

These get out the vote events, of course, flagrantly violate the tax exempt status of these participating mosques, including our own local Noor Islamic Cultural Center, which are strictly prohibited from supporting or endorsing any kind of partisan political activity — even when they claim it is only “voter registration”. In fact, it was these kinds of activities that eventually sunk the Christian Coalition's tax exempt status with the IRS.

Despite the fact that the film Obsession contains no political content and was made well before the 2008 election cycle began, CAIR, those paragons of Islamic moderation and honesty, would now have you believe that the national distribution of the DVD was an Israeli plot to elect John McCain.

This is a very revealing action for CAIR to take. It reveals in particular two key aspects of CAIR's mindset:
1. It shows that CAIR is fully aware that the jihad against Israel is an integral part of the global jihad, and is not just a struggle to recover Palestinian "stolen land." Thus a film that reveals the nature and goals of that global jihad -- Obsession -- benefits Israel.
2. It also shows that CAIR believes that John McCain will fight against the global jihad in a way that Barack Obama will not -- and that it believes therefore the distribution of an anti-jihad film, which in a sane world would be welcomed by both the Left and the Right since the global jihad wishes to destroy and remake the West utterly, must be some partisan plot.

It further shows CAIR yet again on the wrong side of the jihad, as they are again and again. Sami Al-Arian for years bamboozles the Left into thinking he is a gallant freedom fighter for the Palestinians without the shadow of a hint of support for terrorism, and CAIR backs him all the way. The Patriot Act? CAIR was against it -- and not just the legitimately questionable parts, either. Has CAIR ever sponsored a single anti-terror initiative that would actually make it easier for law enforcement to identify and apprehend jihad terrorists? Nope.

U.S. Muslim advocacy group Tuesday asked the Federal Election Commission to investigate whether a nonprofit group that distributed a controversial DVD about Islam in newspapers nationwide is a "front" for an Israel-based group with a stealth goal of helping Republican presidential candidate John McCain.

Accordingly, St Louis residents wouldn't normally have access to copies of this important work. I of course found that alarming, and decided to rectify the matter.

Therefore, after much discussion with other group members, in my capacity as Event Manager for the Conservative Leadership Association of Washington University in St Louis, I made an agreement to secure copies of the film which we will be freely distributing in the month of October. We intend to get started on October 2nd during the VP debates, which our school is hosting, and will continue at least through the end of IFAW III, which the CLA is now hosting (it used to be done by the College Republicans, but the DHFC was displeased with their performance, and asked that we take over).

I wonder if unindicted co-conspirator CAIR will get off this time.  The prosecution must prove  that Holy Land Foundation funds knowingly went to Palestinian charities that would secretly pass it on to Hamas. Organization allegedly threatened to sue over subsequent complaints

Imagine my shock and dismay when I read the following about Mr. Day:

Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations, which claims to represent the interests of American Muslims, allegedly defrauded a number of Muslims recently seeking help with citizenship delays, and then threatened to sue them if they complained to the media, according to a security watchdog group which has obtained internal CAIR documents.

The former legal director of CAIR's Maryland/Virginia chapter shook down Muslim hardship cases for thousands of dollars without providing promised services, officials with the Mapping Sharia Project charge.

CAIR, a nonprofit group, promoted the services of the employee, Morris L. "Jamil" Days, whom it publicly described as a civil-rights attorney, even after discovering Days was unlicensed and was fraudulently representing CAIR's clients.

CAIR's board allegedly covered up the scandal by paying defrauded Muslim families partial restitution payments while insisting they sign agreements releasing CAIR from legal liability, officials said.

The release threatens to sue them for "damages in the amount of $25,000 for the purpose of conducting meetings, workshops, press releases, flyers and the like to reverse ... the damage to CAIR's reputation caused by the recipient's breach" of the agreement to remain silent about the "incident."

Earlier this year, the board also fired Days and closed the chapter's offices in Herndon, Va. The chapter director, Khalid Iqbal, is no longer with CAIR.

CAIR refused to respond to the allegations, which came to light only after American Muslims provided evidence to the Mapping Sharia Project.

"I really don't know anything about this," CAIR spokesman Ahmed Rehab said. He referred questions to CAIR communications director Ibrahim Hooper, who declined comment.

CAIR last month launched a $250,000 fundraising campaign that included a promotional on its website touting its mission to help Muslims, particularly those confronting citizenship problems.

"Everyday, CAIR works hard to defend the rights of American Muslims who encounter a delay in gaining citizenship," the group said.

In fact, CAIR has "victimized" poor Muslim immigrants, said David Gaubatz, director of operations for the Mapping Sharia Project.

"CAIR continues to put Muslim Americans at risk through the pretense that they represent them in any way," Gaubatz said. "CAIR is receiving support from big foreign donors, not because of their effectiveness in discrimination cases, but because of their false image in the media."

Gaubatz says CAIR, which last year was named an unindicted co-conspirator in a federal terror-financing case involving Hamas, controls some $7 million in real estate assets in Washington through a limited liability holding company that includes silent Middle Eastern investors.

CAIR uses every means necessary to speed the institution of sharia in America. Why don't they go back to where they got the money from to bring all these lawsuits against the tellers of truth. This is from Business Week, where CAIR whacks Tyson’s Food for changing its mind and responding to the majority of workers wishes to reinstate the Labor Day holiday:

Muslim civil rights advocates criticized Tyson Foods, and a union official said the company’s response was disingenuous.

“This wasn’t something imposed. It seems that this backtracking would be the result of the backlash from anti-Muslim hate (Web) sites and Islamophobes on the Internet,” said Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for Washington D.C.-based Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Stuart Appelbaum, president of the union headquartered in New York, said he was surprised by the reaction to the holiday change.

“I would have thought that people would have been more sensitive and sympathetic to the concern to the members of our community, who want to celebrate their religious faith,” he said. “It’s a little disingenuous to say that they (Tyson) were responding to employee concerns. The proposal came from workers themselves.”

Calling names is how groups like CAIR operate and they find it works for them in Washington among the politically correct uber-educated, but it won’t work out among real Americans!  What CAIR doesn’t get yet is that Americans see through this for what it is and are willing to speak up nonetheless!   Afterall, we aren’t Europe!

Endnote: I wonder if CAIR is looking into that Shelbyville Somali rampage as a hate crime—after leaving mosque Muslim attacks a woman in a Baptist Church—gotta be some hate there.

Want US Citzenship? Call CAIR!

I can't tell you how many expats I know from Europe and Israel that can't get American citizenship to save their lives. Perhaps they should pretend to be Muslims and have CAIR file a lawsuit for them. But if they pretend to be Muslims, will they then be considered apostates when they leave Islam? Tricky. Considering apostasy is punishable by death, it's a legitimate question.

CAIR DEALS YET ANOTHER BLOW TO FREE SPEECH

CAIR is gloating over the dhimmi ruling of San Francisco (need I say more?) libtard Judge Susan  Ilston against the courageous Michael Savage. Ilston was appointed by cigar stuffing Bill Clinton.
This is a terrible blow, a terrible blow, for freedom of speech lovers
. Of course, inindicted c0-conspirator CAIR is using freedom of speech to kill freedom of speech and in  typical Orwellian double spea, calls it a victory for free speech (!).  Worse yet, the king of litigation jihad is crying about law costs and begging for infidel dollars. I guess the 50 million the Saudis gave CAIR has been spent on suing airlines,  ordinary Americans and scaring the folks.

Based on this ruling, shouldn't CAIR's lawfare aginst Savage be dismissed as well?

As you know, CAIR's response to these attacks, coupled with the efforts of other like-mined organizations, cost Savage advertisers like Sears, Sam’s Club and GEICO Insurance. He told reporters that he lost more than $1 million in revenue.

In response to our anti-hate campaign, Savage sued CAIR. He claimed that our replaying of his bigoted remarks infringed on his "copyright." We simply believed people had a right to hear and judge his hate-filled words for themselves.

THE GOOD NEWS: In a ruling issued on Friday, Federal Judge Susan Illston dismissed Savage’s lawsuit against CAIR.

In her ruling, Judge Illston wrote that the lawsuit Savage filed was "a dispute about...the protections of the First Amendment, protections upon which plaintiff (himself) relies for his livelihood and the airing of his radio program." Judge Illston also implied that the lawsuit may have been brought in an effort to "harass" CAIR.

We could not have won this case without the help we have received from supporters like you. Despite this legal victory, our work continues. Savage's attorney has been quoted in the media as saying they plan to file another complaint against us.

Freedom is not free. Justice does not defend itself. Lawsuits are costly. This case, part of defending the image of Islam, has channeled resources away from our normal civil rights and advocacy work. Michael Savage's malicious words are not only directed at Muslims. He has issued on-air insults against immigrants, African-Americans, women, and most recently autistic children, who he called "brats" and "morons.”

Connolly Contributor Uses Aliases and Has Links to Hamas

Washington, DC – The Traditional Values Coalition (TVC) has called on Fairfax County Supervisor Gerald Connolly to return a contribution his Congressional campaign received from a radical Islamic official and reopen the supervisors’ lease renewal of the Islamic Saudi Academy. 

A Federal Election Commission report lists “Nehad Hammad” as the Executive Director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) and reports that he donated $500 to the Congressional primary campaign of Gerald Connolly, chairman of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors.

Law enforcement officials note that Hammad is an alias used by Nihad Awad who is the founder of CAIR and is listed on the group’s website as its Executive Director. Before founding CAIR,   Awad served as spokesman for the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP) which the Federal Bureau of Investigation officials have identified as a front-group for the violent terrorist organization Hamas.

According to several sources, Awad uses the name Nehad Hammad on some official forms such as IRS documents instead of the name Nihad Awad he uses publicly as a top official at CAIR.  One former federal official refers to CAIR as “Terrorists R Us” and points to a long list of CAIR staff who have been convicted of financing terrorist activities.

“Mr. Connolly should return the check he received from Awad, Hammad or whatever his name is today,” said James Lafferty, a spokesman for the Traditional Values Coalition.

At a May hearing of the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors, Chairman Connolly attempted to bully and shout down witnesses from TVC who quoted parts of ISA textbooks.   He repeatedly accused the TVC witnesses of bigotry and yelled “slander” several times.

“The cause of Mr. Connolly’s anger and vehemence in defending the Islamic Saudi Academy is now apparent.  Are there other leaders of radical Islam involved in or financing Mr. Connolly’s campaign?

“Mr. Connolly has set a new low for what value-neutral politicians will do to raise money or pander to the most radical voting blocs.   He needs to come clean and scrub his campaign of all terrorist influence and sympathizers.

“He also needs to right the wrongs he has done and bring the same passion to reversing the decision of the Board of Supervisors to lease a former county school to the Saudi government. He tried to pawn it off on the State Department which does not have jurisdiction in a desperate effort to save face.   It is an affront to every Fairfax County taxpayer to provide classrooms to those determined to indoctrinate young people to become the next generation of terrorists.”

"The Supreme Court ruled Thursday that foreign terrorism suspects held at Guantanamo Bay have rights under the Constitution to challenge their detention in U.S. civilian courts.

In its third rebuke of the Bush administration's treatment of prisoners, the court ruled 5-4 that the government is violating the rights of prisoners being held indefinitely and without charges at the U.S. naval base in Cuba. The court's liberal justices were in the majority.

Justice Anthony Kennedy, writing for the court, said, "The laws and Constitution are designed to survive, and remain in force, in extraordinary times."

Kennedy said federal judges could ultimately order some detainees to be released, but that such orders would depend on security concerns and other circumstances.

It was not immediately clear whether this ruling, unlike the first two, would lead to prompt hearings for the detainees, some of whom have been held more than 6 years. Roughly 270 men remain at the island prison, classified as enemy combatants and held on suspicion of terrorism or links to al-Qaida and the Taliban.

The administration opened the detention facility at Guantanamo Bay shortly after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks to hold enemy combatants, people suspected of ties to al-Qaida or the Taliban.

The Guantanamo prison has been harshly criticized at home and abroad for the detentions themselves and the aggressive interrogations that were conducted there.

The court said not only that the detainees have rights under the Constitution, but that the system the administration has put in place to classify them as enemy combatants and review those decisions is inadequate.

The administration had argued first that the detainees have no rights. But it also contended that the classification and review process was a sufficient substitute for the civilian court hearings that the detainees seek.

In dissent, Chief Justice John Roberts criticized his colleagues for striking down what he called "the most generous set of procedural protections ever afforded aliens detained by this country as enemy combatants."

Justices Samuel Alito, Antonin Scalia and Clarence Thomas also dissented.

Scalia said the nation is "at war with radical Islamists" and that the court's decision "will make the war harder on us. It will almost certainly cause more Americans to be killed."

Here here Justice Scalia! Indeed, if there were ever a case for the people of the United States to remove Justices from the Supreme Court this is it. Let's hope that Federal Judges do release these terrorists and they come and settle down - innocent babes as they are - the neighborhoods of these four clowns.

Of course as Ed notes, "This will probably derail the hearings that had just begun at Gitmo for six members of the 9/11 conspiracy. By granting the unlawful combatants habeas corpus, the court has now eliminated the main reason for the military tribunal system — and for that matter, Gitmo itself. If the detainees can access American courts, they may as well be held on American soil."

Er, that would be Khalid Shaikh Mohammed the mastermind of 9/11. How does that make you feel America? If this killer gets his case taken to US Courts get ready for the circus instead of the noose that he deserves.

By the way, in the case of an out of control system of justice the people have the right to take back the Nation. That too is in the constitution.

In a statement, CAIR National Director Tahra Goraya said:

"Today's Supreme Court decision is a victory for objective justice. Once again, the Bush administration’s weak assertion that its heavy-handed detention policy operates within the law has not found support in our nation’s highest court.

“As with the Patriot Act, the Military Commissions Act of 2006 was passed quickly without proper congressional debate. The repeated lack of appropriate legislative process and administrative double dealing has proven to be damaging to our nation.

“The prison facility at Guantanamo Bay is a legal and public relations embarrassment for our country and should be promptly closed.”

CAIR MEETS WITH JAILED TERRORISTS

According to the Tampa Tribune, CAIR Executive Director Nihad Awad and several other leaders of the US Muslim Brotherhood network met with jailed Palestinian Islamic Jihad terrorist leader Sami Al-Arian earlier this week, endorsing Al-Arian's continued obstruction of justice in refusing to divulge details of his knowledge of terrorist support operations in the US. Al-Arian has admitted to fundraising and otherwise aiding PIJ terrorist leaders - several of whom are relatives.

After their jailhouse visit with Al-Arian, Awad said that "they were there to support him". CAIR also issued a press release highlighting the meeting with the terrorist leader.

25 March 2008: A source inside the Manhattan District Attorney’s office admitted to me during a telephone conversation yesterday that “hate crimes,” specifically those occurring against Jews, are frequently omitted from such classification. Meanwhile, acts that victimize Muslims, regardless of their motivation, are usually reported as "hate crimes."

 Consequently, crimes against Jews and other religions fail to garner the same media focus as crimes against Muslims and skew the figures used to track criminal motives. Although this is not a new phenomenon, it has recently been accentuated by the incident that took place on a New York subway last week.

From the Hamas ties of its founders in 1994 to its solicitous stance toward accused terrorists today, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has demonstrated that its actual mission is far removed from the civil rights advocacy it claims to pursue.

Still standing as perhaps the clearest evidence of CAIR's insidious role, two key leaders of the group attended a 1993 meeting in Philadelphia called by Hamas members and supporters to devise a strategy for torpedoing the Oslo Accords aimed at Middle East peace.

An analysis of secret recordings of the meeting led the FBI to conclude that the gathering was held "to determine… [the participants'] course of action in support of Hamas' opposition to the [Oslo] peace plan and to decide how to conceal their activities from the scrutiny of the United States government."

Coupled with their support for the jihad in the Middle East, the attendees recognized the critical importance of domestic lobbying in the United States. One discussed encouraging the Islamic community "to be involved in the political life of this country," adding, "We should assist them in this task. This will be an entrance for us to put, through the Islamic community, pressure on the Congress and the decision makers in America."

That's where CAIR came in. Participants in that 1993 meeting discussed tailoring their message to an American audience, speaking of outright deception at times and of softening their rhetoric at others, as the following exchange between CAIR founders Omar Ahmad and Nihad Awad shows:

Awad: What is important is that the language of the address is there even for the American. But, the issue is how to use it.

Omar Ahmad: There is a difference between you saying "I want to restore the '48 land" and when you say "I want to destroy Israel".

Awad: Yes, there are different but parallel types of address. There
shouldn't be contradiction. Address people according to their minds.
When I speak with the American, I speak with someone who doesn't know anything. As for the Palestinian who has a martyr brother or something, I know how to address him, you see?

This context helps explain why federal authorities have tied the CAIR to Hamas in three separate court filings in the past year. Prosecutors place CAIR on the Muslim Brotherhood's "Palestine Committee." An internal Palestine Committee document in 1994 lists CAIR as one of its "working organizations" along with IAP. Other records show that committee was created to advance the Hamas agenda within the United States.

Among the highlights in today's report:

- CAIR was incorporated less than a year after the Philadelphia meeting by three officials of the now-defunct Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), long a central player in Hamas' U.S. support network and a group that the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service deemed in a 2001 memo to be "part of Hamas' propaganda apparatus."

- As recently as the summer of 2007, the Dallas trial charging the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development (HLF) with providing material support for Hamas produced extensive evidence that IAP -- CAIR's parent -- played a central role in the Muslim Brotherhood's Palestine Committee. Much of that evidence relates to Mousa Abu Marzook, now deputy political chief of Hamas, who served on the board of directors of IAP in 1989.
