UN-INDICTED CO-CONSPIRATOR CAIR ACCUSES/THREATENS FBI: NO MOSQUE MONITORING

"The Detroit Division of the FBI denies the allegations made today by the Council of Islamic Organizations of Michigan," Andrew Arena, special agent in charge of the FBI in Detroit, said in an e-mailed statement to The Associated Press.

The Muslim Brotherhood, aka CAIR, is ratcheting up the threats and intimidation to keep law enforcement out of the mosques. Recent surveys show 3 out of 4 mosques in the US preach hatred of the West and of the Jews.

Terrible things are going on in those houses of worship. I am sure the expose I ran of the Nashville mosque which exposed child beatings, the imposition of shariah law and other terrible abuses accelerated this action to impose a stop gap on law enforcement.

CAIR is creating a strawman to keep the FBI and all law enforcement away from terror hotspots. If they can succeed at making the case in the false allegations, law enforcement will stay away. Radioactive.

And what's the deal with that, anyway? You can spy on my shul anytime. I am sure my Christian readers would say the same. And my Hindu, Sikh and Buddhist readers. What are the Muslims hiding?

The ACLU filed a lawsuit today and said, "The government has squandered an opportunity to build trust with Muslim Americans and broken the law by failing to release information in a timely and complete way".  They have it backwards.             Prosecutor: Report Mosque Spying

DEARBORN, Mich. -- The top federal prosecutor in Detroit has encouraged Muslims to report allegations the FBI hired informants to infiltrate mosques and spy on leaders and worshipers.

U.S. Attorney Terrence Berg told Arab- and Muslim-American community leaders during a round-table discussion Thursday that such allegations have not been brought to his attention. But he said his office takes allegations of domestic spying "extremely seriously."

A coalition of Michigan Muslim leaders recently asked U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder to investigate several complaints related to spying on Muslims. Some leaders have called it a fishing expedition, something the FBI denies.

Detroit FBI chief Andrew Arena said he's disappointed these complaints weren't brought to him.

LOS ANGELES - More than a year ago, leading Muslim Americans requested basic information about FBI surveillance in Southern California, seeking to calm community fears of spying at mosques and surveillance of community groups and community leaders. To date, the government has turned over only four pages of documents.

Today, the ACLU of Southern California filed a federal lawsuit claiming the government's incomplete and long-delayed response violated the Freedom of Information Act.

"The government has squandered an opportunity to build trust with Muslim Americans and broken the law by failing to release information in a timely and complete way," said ACLU of Southern California staff attorney Ranjana Natarajan. "If the FBI is serious about addressing the concerns of Muslim Americans in Southern California that their religious rights are protected, they should release the records this lawsuit seeks."

In May 2006, 11 Muslim American leaders and community groups filed a joint FOIA request to the FBI for all records concerning the agency's surveillance and investigations of themselves or their groups since January 2001.They hoped to shed light on practices that have been reported in the press, such as nuclear radiation monitoring at mosques and alleged spying on mosques by federal agents.

CAIR's Minnesota chapter invited the FBI director to a recent mosque open house to discuss allegations against community members and to hear about claims of "profiling" by agents.

 

In State Legislatures

 

In Oklahoma and Minnesota, CAIR chapters are challenging proposed legislation that would deny a Muslim woman wearing hijab, or people of other faiths who wear religious head coverings, from obtaining a driver's license.

 

Yesterday in Minnesota, representatives of CAIR’s chapter there met with the sponsor of the legislation targeting head coverings who told them the amended bill would have a religious exemption.

 

The proposed Oklahoma bill banning head coverings was introduced following a successful campaign by CAIR's chapter in that state to allow hijab in driver's license photos.

 

In Banks

 

Also recently in California, CAIR chapters defended Muslim women who were denied service at two banks in that state because they wear hijab.

 

Just yesterday, the Washington Post carried a story about CAIR's role in defending another Muslim woman who was twice taken out of a waiting line at a Maryland bank because of her hijab.

 

Today’s Post notes that the bank was forced to apologize to the Muslim customer.

US Airways, airport seek trial in imams' suit Audrey Hudson, Washington Times

US Airways and Minneapolis airport officials are demanding a jury trial in a civil rights lawsuit filed by a group of Muslim imams who were removed from a flight for suspicious behavior.

The airline and Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), which oversees Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, are also claiming immunity for their employees named in the suit, citing a "John Doe" law passed by Congress last year that, among other things, protects people acting in an official capacity to prevent terrorist attacks.

"We believe the police officers acted appropriately and that it is important that airports across the nation be able to take action when there is a reasonable belief that travelers could be threatened," said Patrick Hogan, MAC spokesman.

"In this case, there were travelers and flight crew members who raised concerns, and we worked with federal authorities who interviewed the imams," Mr. Hogan said. "We believe the process worked as it should to protect the traveling public."

Talker amends lawsuit against organizer of Muslim boycott to include RICO charges

 

WASHINGTON – It's no longer just a charge of copyright violation in the case of Michael Savage v. Council on American-Islamic Relations.

Now the radio talk star is going for the legal jugular in his battle with the group that bills itself as a Muslim civil rights organization.

The San Francisco-based talker has amended his lawsuit against CAIR for misusing audio clips of his show as part of a boycott campaign against his three-hour daily program to include charges the group "has consistently sought to silence opponents of violent terror through economic blackmail, frivolous but costly lawsuits, threats of lawsuits and abuses of the legal system."

The amended lawsuit, filed in U.S. District Court in Northern California, also charges CAIR with using extortion, threats, abuse of the court system, and obtaining money via interstate commerce under false and fraudulent circumstances – calling it a "political vehicle of international terrorism" and even linking the group with support of al-Qaida.

The federal government recently named CAIR, based in Washington, D.C., as an unindicted co-conspirator in an alleged scheme to funnel $12 million to the terrorist group Hamas.

It is currently nothing but rumor, but there may be a thus-far unmentioned possible replacement for Barbara Sykes as the head of the Ohio Civil Rights Commission - CAIR national vice chairman and local Islamic extremist leader Ahmad Al-Akhras. Sykes resigned as chairwoman earlier this week just hours before her Ohio Senate confirmation hearing was scheduled.

According to a very reliable inside source, Al-Akhras resigned later in the week from his longtime cushy, high-paying job as asst. director of transportation at the Mid Ohio Regional Planning Commission (MORPC). I didn't hear of this development until after the close of business on Friday, so I will confirm his resignation with MORPC on Monday. I previously reported ("Ahmad Al-Akhras on the Ropes?") that Al-Akhras' situation at MORPC was tentative already as many there grew tired of his constant on-the-clock activism and outspoken extremism, though no one could address for fear of the full "Wrath of CAIR" and the obligatory religious discrimination lawsuit that would have followed.

From one perspective (certainly not mine, by the way), Al-Akhras is an attractive candidate for the Ohio Civil Rights Commission (OCRC) job. Al-Akhras has long been Columbus Mayor Michael Coleman's man on the Community Relations Commission, and he is also a board member of ACLU-OH and the NAACP-OH. Al-Akhras has also participated in forums sponsored by the OCRC, such as this "Voting Rights Forum" in February 2006, which he moderated.

He's tight with Gov. Ted Strickland, and it is no secret that our network of Islamic extremists here in town, headed by Al-Akhras, have not been happy with not having one of their own on the OCRC. In obeisance for their public support and campaign fundraising on his behalf, Strickland appeared at the CAIR-OH annual banquest last June ("Not in Our Name, Gov. Strickland"). They may be demanding more political payback from him. Al-Akhras would also be following the example of some of his CAIR colleagues in infiltrating the civil rights public sector, like what Ahmed Bedier has done in Florida, and what Esam Omeish of the Muslim American Society tried to do back in October with the VA Immigration Commission (derailed in no small part thanks to Steve Emerson and The Investigative Project).

It seems when CAIR wants the public to believe something they make it up. Yes, they make it it and and the dhimmi terror loving press devours with it with a ladle. Here's the latest GOTCHA moment for the unindicted co-conspirators.  They are lying about the boycott of Savage nation by claiming advertisers have pulled their biz when in fact they were never advertisers to begin with.

Says longtime policy bans sponsorship of all radio talk shows

The Council on American-Islamic Relations claims a raft of companies have stopped advertising on Michael Savage's top-rated radio talk show in response to a CAIR-instigated boycott campaign, but several of the cited companies say they don't know what the Islamic lobby group is talking about.

In a recent announcement claiming Universal Orlando Resorts "drops 'Savage Nation' ads," CAIR stated:

"Advertisers that have already stopped airing, or refuse to air commercials on 'Savage Nation' include AutoZone, Citrix, TrustedID, JCPenney, OfficeMax, Wal-Mart and AT&T."

But now AutoZone has told WND the CAIR campaign had nothing to do with its advertising decision, and it had chosen not to advertise on any talk shows – of all parts of the spectrum – years before the CAIR effort.

CAIR officials declined to respond to WND queries about why it is listing companies as part of its boycott campaign that say they have not participated in the boycott.

But Talk Radio Network officials also confirmed that companies including AutoZone and JCPenney never advertise on such programs.

Stop the Madrassa Community Coalition announced today that they are pushing back hard against attempts by radical Islamist groups to silence American citizens through boycotts, name-calling, threats of lawsuits, defamatory accusations and other forms of intimidation.

Citizens for American Values president Stuart Kaufman stated today: “We ourselves have been defamed and slandered as a result of our efforts to raise awareness about the Khalil Gibran International Academy (KGIA).   Because of the depredations of CAIR and CAIR’s relationship with KGIA, Citizens for American Values/Stop the Madrassa has expanded its fight to a nationwide campaign against imposition of Islamist agendas in curricula, language programs, history classes, textbooks, teacher training, and charter schools.”  

A coalition of organizations will be taking the following strong actions:

  Former KGIA Principal-designate Dhabbah “Debbie” Almontaser has falsely accused Stop the Madrassa supporters of having engaged in “stalking” her, which, if true, would be a criminal offense in New York state.  These defamatory accusations by Ms. Almontaser have been published by several news outlets, including The New York Times. We are demanding that Almontaser, who is supported by CAIR, publicly rescind her defamatory statements against the Stop the Madrassa community coalition.

As CAIR has organized a boycott by advertisers of the Michael Savage radio show for alleged “Islamophobia,”  we have launched  this week the SUPPORT FREEDOM, NOT ISLAMO-FASCISM campaign, urging Americans not to spend their holiday dollars in stores affiliated with the corporations that have withdrawn advertising from the Michael Savage Show.  Whether one agrees or disagrees with the political views or personality of Mr. Savage, it is imperative that his rights as an American to speak his mind -- to criticize radical Islamism and jihadism -- be protected. 

We are calling on those corporations that have withdrawn advertising at the request of CAIR give our side a fair hearing regarding  the facts about CAIR. Joseph Farah of Worldnetdaily.com reports that CAIR has been named an "unindicted co-conspirator in an alleged scheme to funnel $12 million to the terrorist group Hamas," and adds that in the Holy Land Foundation case, "federal prosecutors also listed CAIR as a member of the U.S. branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, a worldwide jihadist movement that gave rise to Hamas, al-Qaida and other terrorist groups.” (more here)

Discover the Networks points out that, Steven Pomerantz, the FBI's former chief of  counter-terrorism, has stated that "CAIR, its leaders and its activities effectively give aid to international terrorist groups."  On September 17, 2003, U.S. Senator Charles Schumer stated that CAIR co-founders Nihad Awad and Omar Ahmed have "intimate links with Hamas.." He later remarked that "we know [CAIR] has ties to terrorism."

We are reaching out in solidarity to others who have been defamed or targeted for exposing the dangers of Islamo-fascism and jihadism.

Just for knowing, the big police dogs and the really  big special forces cops were out today on 57th and Lex ..... big German Shepard's sniffing everywhere, cops dolled up full metal jacket. Undercover female cops walking the nabe with those sniffing dogs (how do I know this? the dogs had little NYPD tags on). I love those guys.

Plans for New York firefighters to share anti-terrorism information with Homeland Security officials have drawn criticism from Islamic Americans and even some firefighters who fear the program may violate constitutional protections.

Ibrahim Hooper, spokesman for the Council on American-Islamic Relations, said firefighters should report on anything they encounter that's clearly illegal.

"But you don't want firefighters as spies, so to speak, who are using almost warrantless searches to enter homes and to look for things that they're not really supposed to be looking for," said Hooper. "You have to be able to trust firefighters, that they're not coming there to do you harm, to spy on you. They're coming there to save you. And this policy could break down that link."

CAIR would have to register as a foreign agent if their activities were not hidden under the false claim that they are a civil rights organization that enjoys tax exempt status.

CAIR while claiming in its paperwork to be a civil rights organization was in fact co-founded in 1994 by Ibrahim Hooper, Nihad Awad, and Omar Ahmad, all of whom had close ties to the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), which was established by senior Hamas operative Mousa Abu Marzook.

The director of the United States Federal Bureau of Investigation counter-terrorism unit has stated that IAP is "a Hamas front…(that is) controlled by Hamas, it brings Hamas leaders to the US, it does propaganda for Hamas." TAMPA - A prosecution court filing provides new details of a videotape the government says was made by a University of South Florida student and posted to the Web site YouTube.

The video, authorities allege, was made by Ahmed Mohamed, 26, who was arrested in South Carolina on Aug. 4 along with Youssef Megahed and accused of transporting explosives.

The prosecution says Mohamed acknowledged making the video in which he demonstrated how to use a remote-controlled toy to detonate a bomb.

The prosecution court filing quotes Mohamed as saying in Arabic on the video, "Instead of the brethren going to, to carry out martyrdom operations, no may G-D bless him, he can use the explosion tools from distance and preserve his life, G-D willing, the blessed and exalted, for the real battles."

The quote comes in a reply the government filed to a motion by Megahed seeking to have his case tried separately from Mohamed. Megahed's attorneys argue that terrorism-related allegations against Mohamed will unfairly prejudice the jury against Megahed.

How could they possibly seperate the cases?!! They were together transporting  pipes filled with fertilizer, Karo syrup, kitty litter, bullets and fuses, a laptop with a history of web searches on Jihadist martyrdom, Hamas and Qassam rockets and video instructions for turning a remote-control car into a detonator.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Jay Hoffer writes in his response that he opposes the severance of the case, saying there is no basis to think the jury could not be fair to both defendants.

Academic convicted in Hamas funds case

A former professor accused of providing money to Hamas terrorists was sentenced Wednesday to more than 11 years in prison and fined $5,000 for refusing to testify before a federal grand jury.

CHICAGO, IL, 11/21/07) - The Chicago office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Chicago) today expressed dismay at the more than 11 year sentence given to Dr. Abdelhaleem Ashqar for refusing to testify before a grand jury looking into possible terror financing in the Middle East.

Although a jury earlier acquitted Ashqar, a Palestinian-American and former professor at Washington's Howard University, of all terror-related charges, the federal prosecution sought a life term, a sentence that would not normally be imposed unless he had been convicted of the most serious charge against him.

"We are dismayed that the judge's sentence apparently ignores Dr. Ashqar's acquittal on the most serious charges and instead reflects a prison term that could only have been imposed if he had actually been convicted of those charges," said CAIR-Chicago Executive Director Ahmed Rehab. "The excessive sentence is not in the spirit of the American justice system."

CAIR seeks removal of label in terrorism case

The Council on American-Islamic Relations is seeking help from House Judiciary Committee Chairman John Conyers Jr. to pressure the Justice Department to change the group's status as a co-conspirator in a terrorism case.

CAIR officials recently met with Mr. Conyers, Michigan Democrat, and then wrote a letter asking him to lobby the new attorney general on behalf of the group, and to hold hearings.

Relentless.

CAIR is among several hundred Muslim groups listed as unindicted co-conspirators in a recent federal terrorism trial in Dallas into activities by the Holy Land Foundation Inc., a group linked to funding the Palestinian Hamas terrorist group. The trial recently ended in a mistrial and prosecutors have said they plan to re-try the case.

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 11/20/2007) The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) welcomed a ruling today by a federal judge in Minnesota that rejected almost all of the arguments made by U.S. Airways and the Metropolitan Airports Commission in the case of six imams, or Islamic religious leaders, removed from a flight last year in Minneapolis, then arrested and denied further service.

In her 41-page ruling and order, U.S. District Judge Ann Montgomery said the question of whether airport officers had probable cause for the actions taken against the imams must be determined by the facts available at the time.

Montgomery termed "dubious" the often-repeated allegation that the imams were intent on interfering with the flight. According to the judge, the plaintiffs have a plausible claim that their constitutional rights were violated.

She said the facts "support the existence of an unconstitutional custom of arresting individuals without probable cause based on their race."

CAIR: Deal With Threat Made Against 6th-Grader

ST. PETERSBURG - A Muslim civil rights organization[uh CAIR...they are the only Muslim org the media listens to - Atlas] is calling on Pinellas County school officials to investigate a threat it says was made against a sixth-grade Muslim girl at Azalea Middle School.

The 11-year-old girl, Hannah, told reporters she's afraid to go back to school after a boy pulled off her head scarf and the next day threatened to shoot and kill her.

"I feel so afraid," she said. "I should just switch schools."

The Council on American-Islamic Relations held a news conference Monday afternoon outside the school at 22nd Avenue North and 79th Street North with the girl and her parents, all of whom would give only their first names, citing security concerns. [security concerns - from who? More Muslim lies from CAIR - Atlas] Ahmed Bedier, executive director of CAIR's Tampa chapter, said the organization's primary concern is the safety of Hannah and the other students at the school.

IT NEVER HAPPENED. None of it. Apparently, the little girl liked to play with the boy and they were playing tag. When she tagged him, her headscarf fell back a bit. Perhaps this poor young girl was TERRIFIED that she had "dishonored" her family and an honor killing might be in order.

MUSLIM COMPLAINT WONT LEAD TO CHARGES St Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG - No charges will be filed in a case in which a Muslim girl said she was threatened at the middle school she attends, St. Petersburg police said today.

"There are so many conflicting statements that we are not going to forward it to the state attorney," St. Petersburg police spokesman Bill Proffitt said.

According to a police report released this morning, an 11-year-old boy on Nov. 7 tugged on the Islamic head scarf of Hannah Chehbab, also 11, at Azalea Middle School.

The scarf, or hijab, became loose and exposed some of the girl's hair, the report says. Chehbab was sent to a bathroom to fix it, the report says.

Two days later, Chehbab's parents told Assistant Principal Solomon Lowery that the boy also had threatened to bring a BB gun to school and shoot their daughter, the report states.

Lowery, though, said that when he asked Hannah whether anyone had threatened to bring something to school and harm her, she said that didn't happen, the police report states.

Because of those conflicts police will not forward the case to the Pinellas-Pasco State Attorney's Office, Proffitt said.

In addition, claims by the girl that the 11-year-old boy choked her for eight seconds on a different occasion could not be corroborated by witnesses or school videotape. The boy denied choking her and threatening her with a BB gun.

In the seven-page police report, 11- and 12-year-old schoolmates say Hannah and the boy actually are friends and were constantly talking and playing around. One girl told investigators that the scarf incident occurred after Hannah had tapped the boy on the head. When he did the same, Hannah tried to push his hand away and the head scarf came off, the girl said.

Questions are being raised by many after a sixth grade Muslim girl was allegedly assaulted by another student at school last week. 

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) planned a news conference for Monday afternoon to discuss the incident, which allegedly happened at Azalea Middle School last week. The school is located at 22nd Avenue North and 79th Street North in St. Petersburg.

Officials with the Pinellas County School District say they were aware of the incident involving the head scarf, and that the boy was disciplined.

But CAIR officials say the trouble between the two students didn't stop there. They claim that one day later, on Thursday, the boy told the girl he was going to bring a gun to school and shoot her.  They say that's when she told the teacher and the school principal, but as far as CAIR officials know, no investigation into the incident has taken place. WORLD WAR II PALESTINE-JEWISH BRIGADE

Despite British-Jewish tensions, thousands of Jewish volunteers served in the British army in scattered units, and on September 14, 1944, the Jewish Brigade was established. The Jewish Brigade of approximately 5,000 soldiers was the only military unit to serve in World War II in the British Army — and, in fact — in all the Allied forces — as an independent, national Jewish military formation.

The Arabs took the side of the Axis, either overtly like Iraq or indirectly by withholding support for the Allies. Grand Mufti Haj Amin al-Husseini issued a fatwa- "summons to a holy war against Britain" in May 1941 (see detail below). The Mufti's widely heralded proclamation against Britain was declared in Iraq, where he was instrumental in "the pro-Nazi" Iraqi revolt of 1941.

In the 1930s, the fascist regimes that arose in Italy and Germany sought greater stakes in the Middle East, and began courting Arab leaders to revolt against their British and French custodians. Among their many willing accomplices was Jerusalem Mufti Haj Amin el-Husseini, who fled Palestine after agitating against the British during the Arab Revolt of 1936-39. He found refuge in Iraq – another British mandate – where he again topped the British most wanted list after helping pull the strings behind the Iraqi coup of 1941. The revolt in Baghdad was orchestrated by Hitler as part of a strategy to squeeze the region between the pincers of Rommel's troops in North Africa, German forces in the Caucuses and pro-Nazi forces in Iraq. However, in June 1941 British troops put down the rebellion and the Mufti escaped via Tehran to Italy and eventually to Berlin.

Once in Berlin, the Mufti received an enthusiastic reception by the "Islamische Zentralinstitut" and the whole Islamic community of Germany, which welcomed him as the "Führer of the Arabic world." In an introductory speech, he called the Jews the "most fierce enemies of the Muslims" and an "ever corruptive element" in the world.

Husseini openly encouraged Muslims to join Nazi units that would be later implicated in genocide and crimes against humanity - the infamous Hanjar (or Handschar) 13th Waffen SS division.

A divide is emerging on the presidential campaign trail over battling terrorists: how exactly to label the fight. While Democrats tend to talk about terrorism in general, Republicans increasingly pin the threat directly on Islam.

All the major Republican candidates regularly weave some form of the phrase "Islamic extremism" into their stump speeches. Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney has taken the rhetoric to a new level, running a television advertisement about "this century's nightmare, jihadism."

Hmmmmmmm, maybe I should reconsider his candidacy.

Democratic candidates generally don't emphasize linking Islam and terrorism. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton talks more of "global terrorism," while Sen. Barack Obama refers to "stateless terrorism." "In four Democratic debates, not a single Democratic candidate said the word 'Islamic terrorism,'" former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani said at a Republican debate. "Now that is taking a political correctness to extremes."

Those who like the Republican candidates' choice of language say it reflects the reality of who threatens America the most. "Everybody ought to call an ace an ace," says Jim Gorsh, a 62-year-old retiree who heard Mr. Romney speak in Clinton, Iowa, earlier this month.

The Republican tone might alienate Arab-American voters, says [Jew hater, terror lover] James Zogby, founder and president of the Arab American Institute, a Washington-based advocacy group. There are about 3.5 million Arab-Americans in the U.S., according to Dr. Zogby, and they make up as much as 7% of the electorate in one key state, Michigan. TX Muslims Sue FL Islamophobe for Defamation CAIR

Islamic organizations in North Texas are seeking libel damages in a lawsuit against Joe Kaufman, leader of the Florida-based Americans Against Hate.

Kaufman visited Six Flags Over Texas in Arlington on Oct. 14 to lead a protest against Muslim Family Day, an event celebrating the end of Ramadan, a period of holy days on the Islamic calendar marked by fasts and prayer.

The lawsuit, filed Oct. 12, asked a judge to prohibit Kaufman from threatening, harming or inciting violence against anyone associated with the outing, in addition to libel damages, according to court records.

Area Islamic organizations were granted the temporary restraining order against Kaufman. They have also asked a judge to make a determination of libel against Kaufman. The organizations charge that Kaufman's Web site was used to paint all Muslims participating in Muslim Family Day as radical fanatics who used the event to spread anti-American hatred.

What is the biggest issue facing the Muslim community in Tampa Bay?

The biggest issue right now is just the rise in hate directed at Muslims. And it's both in speech and in action. It's really concerning the amount of anti-Muslim rhetoric repeated over, for example, the airwaves. Even though it's national syndication radio that's creating a lot of this rhetoric, it's having an impact locally. Also we're noticing a rise in houses of worship using hateful, anti-Muslim sermons and other things. That is a pressing issue for us because we feel that is translating into hate crimes and putting our community in danger.

What danger?  It's the community that is in danger of the Islamic menace. Why isn't bedier staging mass rallys against the close to  10,000 radical Islamic attacks since 9/11. Where is the damn movement to stamp out Islamic terror?

Critics frequently accuse CAIR of not taking a stand against Muslim extremism and terrorism. Is this true?

That's not true. If you look at our website, we have a dedicated section on our stance against terrorism. In 2004 and 2005, we coordinated the campaign "Not In the Name of Islam," an international campaign against terrorism in the name of Islam. We've even produced television commercials that reiterate our stands against terrorism and that terrorism has nothing to do with the faith, and those who carry out terrorism are criminals. Out of all the Muslim organizations, we've been the most outspoken against acts of violence against innocent people and acts of terrorism.

I must have been out to lunch for that one.

LGF and CAIR

It is most unfortunate when a group of Islamic thugs get inspiration from LGF. I never thought I would see the day that CAIR and Charles over at Little Green Footballs would be aligned against a counter jihad movement, but perhaps pigs do fly.

CAIR released this statement regarding the Brussels Counter Jihad summit, which sounds like it took its talking points from Charles' post here.

I previously wrote that it was utterly wrong to dismiss this incredible effort, an enormous undertaking by so many brave fighters and truth tellers , so casually and so out of hand. I attended that summit. As did many other global bloggers, activists, and freedom fighters, in an attempt to formulate strategy to fight the scourge of the Islamization of Europe. Many came at great personal risk to themselves and their families.

I have enormous respect for Charles and came to blogging because of LGF. His news site gave me and thousands like me hope after 9/11. He is a crusader against radical Islam. An invaluable resource for news on the global jihad.

I assure you there was no neo nothing going on there. Charles painted this herculean effort with one ugly brush and took everyone and everything down with it. The irony is the one thing that we came away with, the thing we must do and do now, in order to affect any change, is EDUCATE. And look at the education we are getting. Political correctness run amok.

This conference deserved international coverage. I am not surprised that the mainstream media wouldn't touch it; they are deathly afraid of anything remotely tinged with Islam. They won't even call terror terror. But the alternative media? WTF?

And as far as the racist label (which anyone who dares to question Islam is called) - I don't consider this racism. The EU elites, maybe, but not me.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) revealed today that the main speaker for an upcoming series of "Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week" lectures at university campuses nationwide recently offered a keynote address at a European gathering that included representatives of racist or "neo-Nazi" political parties.

    Author Robert Spencer, who is scheduled to appear beginning next week at universities such as Brown, DePaul and Dartmouth, is regarded by American Muslims as one of the nation's worst Islamophobes. His virulently anti-Islam website promotes the idea that life for Muslims in the West should be made so difficult that they will leave.

    Spencer recently spoke at a so-called "Counterjihad Brussels 2007" conference in Belgiumattended by those with links to far-right parties such as Filip Dewinter of Vlaams Belang (Belgium) and Ted Ekeroth of Sverigedemokraterna (Sweden). Both parties have been accused of either having a racist platform, a neo-Nazi past or having links to neo-Nazis and other racists.

    Vlaams Belang is the successor to the Vlaams Blok party, which was banned in 2004 for being an illegal racist political faction. (Vlaams Belang's founders were Nazi collaborators in World War II.)

Who the hell wasn't a nazi collaborator in Europe? Puhleeeeeze.

..... we should focus on our mortal enemy, but it's also important to know who are with us and who are not. CAIR's core message is no different from that of Charles of LGF, it's just got the volume turned up.

I'm not surprised at this development at all, these are the mechanisms of political correctness. LGF is no different from Sweden here. As is illustrated by my concept "The Finish of the West", the reason why Western people end up on the same side as CAIR (etc.) like this, is not their wish to destroy the West. On the contrary, it's driven by: i) their wish to perfecting goodness, ii) fear of ghosts. Liberals do not went to destroy the West, their aim is in perfecting goodness. Same with the leftists, only a few avant-gardists actually want to destroy the West, the big majority are just working hard in perfecting goodness. The only difference between the left-wing and the right-wing, is that the right-wing has realized that goodness cannot be just that perfected. For the right-wing the fear-of-ghosts component is therefore more active, but both components are active in both camps.

Sweden, which I know well, is a perfect case study of political correctness. As Edmund Burke said "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." And there are a lot of good people in Sweden, many in Moderaterna, the party of Reinfeldt, who see the problems but are completely paralysed by their fear of ghosts. The PC system is a maze, full of smoke an mirrors, which got most people caught in it. Few people see through the smoke and mirrors, and manage to find their way to the exit. But for these few who find an exit, each exit is guarded by a Nazi troll, fake or real. This is enough for decent people to back off and stay paralysed, while joining in the ostracism of anyone fulfilling his dream, escaping through the exit.

There's no difference between these decent and good people of Sweden, and Charles of LGF. And both cases illustrate how the PC tyranny is ultimately held up by fear. People will say that Charles is a good guy and fight Islamism, but so does George Bush, doesn't he? I'm sure Charles does good things for America, but when it comes to Europe he's effectively opposing resistance to Islamization. He's decided that the PC mazes of European countries, such as Belgium and Sweden, are best kept as perfectly sealed systems, and thereby effectively support the PC tyranny. So as Fjordman put in in the LGF comments section, either we are surrender monkeys or we are neo-Nazis. If we would take our cues from Charles and LGF the only option is to lie down and die.

As the commenter at Atlasshrugs wrote: "i think charles and little green footballs at least owe the rest of us some sort of explanation why they do not feel this conference in brussels worthy of a more extended coverage and comment."

Charles did not only avoid covering our conference, he struck a decivive blow against it. Of course all out of goodness and decency... and fear of ghosts. And these ripples have now reached CAIR. All unintentionally by Charles of course, this is not in his control, he's just a pawn in the all-encompassing PC system.

We who were at the conference know that THIS IS IT. Charles will have to decide if he's going to be with us, or stay on the wrong side.

It is simply not true that "Vlaams Belang's founders were Nazi collaborators in WW II."

Vlaams Belang founder Filip Dewinter was born in 1962 in a family that cannot be accused of Nazi sympathies. His father and uncle were members of the anti-German Resistance. Vlaams Belang was founded in 2004, sixty years after the end of WW II.

The Vlaams Blok, predecessor to the Vlaams Belang, was founded in 1977 by Karel Dillen (1925-2007). Mr Dillen came from a non-political background. His father, an Antwerp labourer, abandoned his wife and their two sons when when Dillen was still a baby. He was raised by his mother. Neither he, nor his brother nor his mother were involved in any political activities at all during the war, let alone that they belonged to pro-Nazi and collaborationist groups.

CAIR hits a new low of defamation

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) has never cared much for the truth when speaking about me. The organization's spokesman, Ibrahim Hooper, has defamed me on national television, and the organization's website even featured a link, for a time, to a tissue of lies penned by a pathetic convicted felon.

But now CAIR has reached a new low, in a press release entitled, "'Islamo-Fascism' Week Speaker Meets With European 'Neo-Nazis.'"

WASHINGTON, Oct. 21 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) revealed today that the main speaker for an upcoming series of "Islamo-Fascism Awareness Week" lectures at university campuses nationwide recently offered a keynote address at a European gathering that included representatives of racist or "neo-Nazi" political parties.

The gathering was organized by American bloggers. It was about the Islamization of Europe. I had no hand in the selection of attendees, and was meeting most of them for the first time. No racist or neo-Nazi themes were discussed. If any of the people there are actually racists or neo-Nazis, I completely disavow them and all racist and neo-Nazi ideas. Now: will CAIR do the same thing regarding Hamas?

What's more, the real neo-Nazis of the Aryan Nations have said: "Islam is our ally, and the 1500 cults all claiming to be 'Christian' are our opposition."

Why is that too much to ask? Why does that make me an "Islamophobe"?

It is noteworthy that the New York Times, in a profile of Dewinter, found no grounds to call him a neo-Nazi, which they surely would have if they could have. It is also perhaps worth noting that his father was in the anti-Nazi resistance. But ultimately, I said it all above: if there were any actual neo-Nazis there, I disavow them, and ask CAIR likewise to disavow the terrorists of Hamas.

Later on they quote Hugh Fitzgerald (why the quotation marks around his name?):

McCain Asked to Appoint Muslim Advisors CAIR ALERT

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 10/1/07) - The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today called on presidential candidate Sen. John McCain to appoint a Muslim campaign advisor and a Muslim White House aide if elected in 2008.

CAIR's request came following McCain's remarks that America is a "Christian" nation and that he would not be comfortable with a Muslim in the White House.

In response to a question from Beliefnet.com about the possibility of a Muslim presidential candidate, the Arizona senator said: "I just have to say in all candor that since this nation was founded primarily on Christian principles, that's a decision the American people would have to make, but personally, I prefer someone who I know who has a solid grounding in my faith.

Repudiate CAIR: Fight for the KING

CAIR is on the warpath and out to get Rep Peter King, the best politician on Islamism there is. They are after Daniel Pipes as well. If CAIR is attempting to silence them, you know they must be great. Every truth teller and fighter for freedom is on their hit list.

King, who is on Giuliani's Homeland Security Advisory Board, has in the past claimed that the vast majority of mosques in his state and nationwide are being run by "radicals" and called for racial profiling of Muslims in airports. He said: "I think it is time to end political correctness. To me, if a person is of Middle Eastern descent it is legitimate for the screener to ask more questions."

In 2004, King said that "85 percent" of American Muslim community leaders are "an enemy living amongst us" and that "no (American) Muslims" cooperate in the war on terror. He made these claims despite the fact that American Muslims have consistently condemned terrorism and work to protect national security.

Daniel Pipes has long been regarded by Muslims and other observers as one of America's leading Islamophobes. In 2001, Pipes claimed the "presence" and "enfranchisement" of American Muslims present "true dangers to American Jews." Pipes recently renewed a call to "raze" Palestinian villages from which anti-Israeli attacks are launched.

In 2004, Pipes said he supported the widely-repudiated internment of Japanese-Americans. He wrote: "Yes, I do support the internment of Japanese Americans in World War II." He has also stated that the views of far-right French racist Jean-Marie Le Pen "represent an important outlook in the national debate over immigration and Islam."

Like King, Pipes supports racial and religious profiling of Muslims and Arabs.

(Coral Springs, FL) Last month, Hussam Ayloush, the Executive Director of CAIR-Los Angeles (CAIR-California), posted on his blog a threat against President George W. Bush. The author of the threat is Sami Al-Hajj, an enemy combatant currently residing in Guantanimo Bay prison, of whom Ayloush believes should be released and apologized to.

The threat reads: “America, you ride on the backs of orphans, and terrorize them daily. Bush, beware.” As of now, it is still located on Ayloush's website.

CAIR, the unindicted co-conspirators with Hamas, have joined with their favorite group, the ACLU, to sue the FBI to release records of their surveillance of Muslims….regardless and not even caring of what consequences this could bring about.

The ACLU and Muslim advocacy groups sued the FBI and the Justice Department on Tuesday, alleging that authorities failed to turn over records detailing suspected surveillance of the Muslim-American community.

The complaint, filed in U.S. District Court in Santa Ana, alleges that the FBI has turned over only four pages of documents to community leaders, despite a Freedom of Information Act request filed more than a year ago.

The request sought records that described FBI guidelines and policies for surveillance and investigation of Muslim religious organizations, as well as specific information about FBI inquiries targeting 11 groups or people.

The lawsuit states that all the plaintiffs—who include some of the most prominent Muslim leaders in California—have reason to believe they have been investigated by the FBI since January 2001.

Producer of PBS 'Islam' Doc Joins Rally Against NY Arabic School CAIR website

Frank Gaffney, a producer of the PBS documentary 'Islam vs. Islamists,' joined a rally yesterday against a new Arabic language school in New York. Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League for Religious and Civil Rights, was also present.

A report on the rally was posted on an anti-Muslim hate site.

In contrast to a separate discussion produced by Oregon Public Broadcasting and distributed along with "Islam vs. Islamists" — which featured one of the film's anti-Islamist stars, Zuhdi Jasser of Phoenix, the WEDU panel was populated entirely by those hostile to Dr. Jasser and Muslims like him. Among the talking-heads was Ahmed Bedier, the executive director of the Tampa office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR).

When Mr. Bedier is not savaging anti-Islamist Muslims and the film-makers who, despite considerable adversity, brought their story to a national audience, he is denouncing the listing by federal prosecutors of CAIR as an unindicted co-conspirator in a terrorism case involving an Islamist fund-raising arm called the Holy Land Foundation.

Or Mr. Bedier is mounting a vehement public defense of two Egyptian students at the University of South Florida, Ahmed Abda Sherf Mohamed and Yousef Samir Megahed, caught in South Carolina last month transporting pipe bombs across state lines. Mr. Bedier's response was vintage CAIR, portraying the arrested men as victims of racial profiling, bias and discrimination. "We believe that there's an overreaction that [is] happening here just because of their Middle Eastern and Muslim backgrounds."

In the past, Mr. Bedier insistently made similar claims about Sami al-Arian, the University of South Florida professor who ultimately pleaded guilty to providing services for the terrorist Palestinian Islamic Jihad organization. It is unlikely to be purely coincidental that Mr. Mohamed reportedly rented a room in a house used by Mr. al-Arian to run his front organization, the World Islamic Studies Enterprise.

What is going on in Tampa, enabled in part by uncritical media outlets like WEDU, is going on all over America. It is time we stop promoting the Islamists and their friends — and start helping those Muslims who are ours.

In July, Shaikh called President Bush and Condoleezza Rice “liars” and Vice President Cheney a “fat retard of a liar.” As well, he has likened Jews to Nazis and has stated that Congresswoman Jane Harmon is a “pocket protector” of the American lobby group for Israel, AIPAC.”

Joe Kaufman, Chairman of Americans Against Hate (AAH) and Founder of CAIR Watch, stated, “The atrocious behavior of CAIR’s Affad Shaikh should send a message to the media that CAIR is not a group to be dealt with on a cordial basis. For the first time, evidence in the case put CAIR's founder, Nihad Awad, at a Philadelphia meeting of alleged Hamas supporters that was secretly watched and recorded by the FBI.

The groups had overlapping rosters of leaders. Documents introduced by prosecutors in the Holy Land trial list several of the charity's leaders as officials in the Islamic Association for Palestine.

Bank records show financial transactions between both organizations and Marzook, which prosecutors contend shows that Hamas invested seed money in the U.S. groups so they could then raise more funds for Hamas from American Muslims.

Douglas Farah, author of Blood from Stones, a book on terrorists' financial networks, said the document trail reveals something he and others had surmised but didn't know for sure — that the groups were part of a coordinated strategy for raising money and support in the United States for radical Islamic groups, including Hamas.

"It's clear these groups grew out of an effort to carry out a specific strategy in the United States," Farah said. "It's in their own words, it's a political infiltration that worked for 40 years."

Parvez Ahmed, chairman of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, denied that his group or its current or former leaders had any ties to Hamas.

"That's one of those urban legends about CAIR," he said. "It's fed by the right-wing, pro-Israeli blogosphere."

Ahmed said the Philadelphia gathering attended by CAIR's founder "was an open meeting of Palestinian activists who came together to discuss the Olso peace accords and their struggle to gain a homeland."

Other evidence was literally unearthed — dug up from the backyard of a home where an unindicted co-conspirator of the Holy Land defendants once lived.

One of the documents is a memo about the goals for the U.S. organization of the U.S. faction of the Muslim Brotherhood, whose members included some of the Holy Land leaders now on trial.

The memo's writer, Mohamed Akram, wrote that members of the Brotherhood "must understand that their work in America is a kind of grand Jihad in eliminating and destroying the Western civilization from within."

Islam must be exorsized from the public school inodoctrination system. When we stopped educating young America, when we stopped teaching history and geography and dumbed down the curriculum, when we stopped teaching the greatness of our founding fathers and the enormous personal risks they took for an "idea" - a form of government based on the individual and self reliance instead teaching about fat greedy white men and how cruel we were to the Indians (savages), when we abandoned our basic fundamental principles,  we lost our way. We lost the core of American greatness. We abandoned reason  and abandoned education for pablum multicultural diversity horseshit which rendered us easy prey for Islam.

This is why the Islamists are so confident in the establishment of Arabic public schools.

These children will be attending two publicly-funded K-8 charter schools, International Academy of Columbus and Westside Academy, schools are sponsored under an Ohio Department of Education contract with the Buckeye Community Hope Foundation and operated by a politically-connected group of Islamic extremists associated with both the national and Ohio chapters of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)

At least one of the taxpayer-financed schools has been used during the last school year to play host to an anti-Israel CAIR_OH teach in.

Even though many of the new students are learning English as a new language, an essential tool for helping them integrate into their new community, the schools instead focuses on Arabic as part of their core curriculum. As a result, standardized test scores for the schools are well below state standards; and yet Ohio educrats continue to give the project new life, pumping millions of taxpayer dollars into each school every year to keep the schools open and renewing their contracts. One board member for both schools has even co-authored an article advocating an educational policy of “selected acculturation” and “accommodation without assimilation” to “encourage Somali youth to develop an adversarial identity that will put them at odds with mainstream society” – thus trapping the students in a cycle of perpetual cultural alienation and isolation.

The Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) says it is suffering from a decline in membership and fundraising and blames the Justice Department for listing it as an unindicted co-conspirator in a case involving a charity accused of terrorist ties.

CAIR is asking a federal judge to strike it as one of the more than 300 Muslim groups listed as unindicted co-conspirators in the government's case against the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, which is currently on trial in Dallas.

"The public naming of CAIR as an unindicted co-conspirator has impeded its ability to collect donations as possible donors either do not want to give to them because they think they are a 'terrorist' organization or are too scared to give to them because of the possible legal ramifications of donating money to a 'terrorist" organization," CAIR said in an amicus curiae brief filed in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Texas.

The brief cites reporting by The Washington Times about the organization's declining membership — coverage that CAIR had previously denounced as a "hit piece."

Have they proposed stoning the journalist yet?

The Justice Department shut down the Holy Land Foundation and in 2004 indicted several of its top officers who are accused of raising $36 million from 1995 through 2001 for organizations and persons linked with Hamas, designated as a terrorist organization by the Clinton administration in 1995. The foundation raised $12.4 million after the designation that made such fundraising illegal, prosecutors say.

The 42-count federal indictment accused the foundation's officers of conspiracy, providing support to terrorists, money-laundering and income-tax evasion.

On May 29, the Justice Department made public a list naming 307 unindicted co-conspirators — including CAIR — in the case now being tried in the Dallas courtroom of U.S. District Judge A. Joe Fish.

"The name of CAIR has been smeared by association with a criminal case that ostensibly involves the charitable funding of a 'terrorist' group," said the brief filed last week.

In response to this, Assemblyman Dov Hikind (D-Brooklyn) said the school's children could be "indoctrinated" and warned in a statement that "establishment of an Arab school is a misguided and dangerous idea." He wrote a letter to Schools Chancellor Joel Klein to protest the school's opening.

He released the following statement:

 

"[Almontaser] said that 'intifada' means to 'shake off.' We know that 'intifada' means the killing of innocent men, women and children. And now, the sponsors and organizational endorsers of the school advance a boycott of Israel and divestment. Is this what we want taught in our public schools? Is this how we want New York children to be indoctrinated?

"Instead of enriching our students' grasp of diverse cultures, will this school become a morass of polarization and justification of terror tactics? Establishment of an Arab school is a misguided and dangerous idea. I am calling on you, as Chancellor, to abolish this school before it becomes firmly entrenched. At first I embraced the idea (of a school which teaches the Arabic language) albeit, somewhat less than enthusiastically, but nevertheless, I felt the country needed skilled students steeped in Arab language and culture.

"All signs point to this concept as being a precarious mistake, especially with its radical endorsements. Do we want a school to teach its students that Hamas militants are freedom fighters, and that Israel is an apartheid state? This school is ill-advised. It will not, as suggested, be a hope for peace; it is a blueprint for anti-Israel and anti-U.S. extremism. As per their website mideastjustice.org, Adalah-NY 'supports boycott, divestment and sanctions against Israel.' The school should not be opened for the September term."

Help fight the Islamization of this nation's public schools with these three initiatives.

The following is a report from Alan of the UAC's Orlando, FL chapter regarding the chapter members experiences while attempting to distribute anti-CAIR literature at the Convention Center where CAIR was holding a banquet.

On the day of the CAIR Banquet at the Convention Center there was also a truck show that was open to the public. Interestingly the CAIR banquet was being held directly upstairs in clear sight of the truck show.

Three of us went to the truck show with the plan of quietly and politely handing out literature about Siraj Wahhaj and CAIR both named unindicted co-conspirators in separate cases. Two other members also drove over from Tampa to help out.

We arrived at the truck show at 3:10 PM and immediately began handing out literature to attendees, vendors, and exhibitors. At approximately 3:45 we were collectively flanked by approximately ten security guards, an Orange County Sheriff, and Beth Barrett of the Convention Center management. I was asked to present my ID, which I politely did. Then we were escorted out the Convention Center. When we were outside of the Convention Center there were 3-4 Orange County Sheriff cruisers shadowing our every move - as if we posed a serious threat.

The irony of this exercise is that right upstairs as we were being forced out of a partially tax payer funded venue for simply handing out literature. The group CAIR which is currently listed as an unindicted co-conspirator in the ongoing Holy Land Foundation Hamas funding case had as their keynote speaker another unindicted co-conspirator in the 93 WTC Bombings who was also a character witness for the Blind Sheikh, who was sentenced to life in prison for his role in the murder and destruction at the WTC, were conducting business as usual.

The question I have is how could our city leaders allow CAIR Orlando and Siraj Wahhaj to speak at a taxpayer funded venue in the first place. I have left three messages with Mayor Buddy Dyers office and faxed info to Mayor Rich Crotty's office but have no responses as of yet.

That is briefly what our experiences were in our goal to hand out a few pieces of paper and educate the public about what is going on at the Orange County Convention Center.

The NYPD makes it  official. Law enforcement can not be everywhere. We don't have a shot in hell if the American citizenry doesn't take an active role in reporting suspicious activity. Which is why CAIR is so dead set against it and intends to sue the good Americans that due their part during this long, relentless war.

NYPD report warns of homegrown terrorist threat ABC

U.S. law enforcement officials say they have identified more than two dozen "clusters" of young Muslim men in the northeast United States who are on a path that could lead to homegrown terror, ABC News has learned.

"Any one of those clusters may be capable of carrying out a terrorist action that will result in fatalities," Rand Corporation terrorism expert Brian Jenkins tells ABC News.

In a report to be made public today, New York City Police Commissioner Ray Kelly concludes the 9/ll attacks were an "anomaly" and the most serious terror threat to the country comes from clusters of "unremarkable" individuals who are on a path that could lead to homegrown terror.

The report by the NYPD intelligence division, "Radicalization in the West and the Homegrown Threat," plots "the trajectory of radicalization" and tracks the path of a non-radicalized individual to an individual with the willingness to commit an act of terror, multiple sources say.

"The threat is real; this is not some bogey man we are creating here. There are individuals who are proselytizing, inciting angry young men to go down this path," said Jenkins, who reviewed and contributed to the NYPD report.

The report identifies mosques, bookstores, cafes, prisons and flop houses as what it calls "radicalization incubators" that provide "extremist fodder or fuel for radicalization."

The leader of an American Arab civil rights group labeled the NYPD report as "unfortunate stereotyping" and at odds with federal law enforcement findings that the threat from homegrown terrorists was minimal.

Newsday writes;

"Most have never been arrested or involved in any kind of legal trouble." They "look, act, talk and walk like everyone around them," the study adds. "In the early stages of their radicalization, these individuals rarely travel, are not participating in any kind of militant activity, yet they are slowly building the mind-set, intention and commitment to conduct jihad."

Kareem Shora, legal adviser for the American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee, called the findings faulty and potentially inflammatory.

Police "paint such a broad brush," Shora said. "It plays right into the extremists' plans because it's going to end up angering the community.

CAIR: NYPD TERROR REPORT CASTS SUSPICION ON ALL U.S. MUSLIMS

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 8/15/2007) - The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said today that a new NYPD report on "radicalization" may result in all U.S. Muslims being viewed with suspicion.

CAIR says the 90-page report purports to outline a four-step process of radicalization, but in fact describes ordinary activities, associations and behaviors as indicators of a potential terror threat.

In a statement, CAIR Board Chairman Parvez Ahmed said:

"Whatever one thinks of the analysis contained in the report, its sweeping generalizations and mixing of unrelated elements may serve to cast a pall of suspicion over the entire American Muslim community.

"The report lists sites that are likely to be visited by any American Muslim as radicalization 'incubators.' The sites listed include mosques, cafes, cab driver hangouts, student associations, nongovernmental organizations, butcher shops, and book stores.

"Despite raising suspicions against ordinary Muslims and the places they visit, the report itself states: 'There is no useful profile to assist law enforcement or intelligence to predict who will follow this trajectory of radicalization. Rather, the individuals who take this course begin as 'unremarkable' from various walks of life.'

"So while labeling almost every American Muslim as a potential terrorist, the report's authors admit that their findings offer no useful way to identify real terror suspects.

"The report also claims that signs of radicalization include positive changes in personal behavior such as giving up smoking, drinking and gambling. It also makes similar claims about those who wear Islamic attire or a religiously-recommended beard.

"Is Islamic attire or giving up bad habits, which is something recommended by leaders of all faiths, now to be regarded as suspicious behavior?

HOW TERROR GROWS AT HOME

An eye-opening new report from the NYPD's Intelligence Division turns a spotlight on the threat posed by homegrown terrorists. And it underscores the relentless efforts by civil libertarians and leftist groups - with The New York Times at the head of the line - to thwart counterterrorist efforts.

among the citizenry: "They had 'unremarkable' jobs, had lived 'unremarkable' lives and had little, if any, criminal history." That is, they can live next door.

We've got our own issues with the NYPD report, primarily the troubling way in which it contrasts homegrown Western terrorism with Palestinian Arab terrorism against Israel. "Much different from the Israeli- Palestinian equation, the transformation of a Western-based individual to a terrorist is not triggered by oppression, suffering, revenge, or desperation," the report says.

Who the fig is oppressed, suffering and under attack? Israel!

Since the report is a study of terrorist attacks in America and Europe, not attacks against Israel, it's hard to see the basis for the NYPD's assessment of the motivation of attacks on Israel. If any such basis exists, evidence for it certainly is absent from the report. Many of the attacks on Israel are motivated, inspired, supported, and funded by Saudi, Iranian, and Syrian agitators who are neither oppressed nor suffering nor desperate. The NYPD report is scathing about the Saudis (which may be one reason the Saudi-funded American groups are squawking about it) but it gives short shrift to the Iranian threat. Those quarrels aside, however, the report is an intriguing and sober contribution to the discussion of how to make New York safer, and it certainly doesn't deserve the alarmist response with which it has been greeted by the Arab and Muslim groups.

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 8/8/07) - The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said today that an "acid bomb" was thrown near worshipers outside an Arizona mosque early Monday morning. CAIR is calling on local and national law enforcement authorities to investigate the incident as a possible bias-motivated attack.

According to eyewitnesses and local police (case# 07-92489), a container of acid and a reactant was thrown out of a car window and landed near an imam (Islamic religious leader) and another mosque official who were standing outside the Albanian American Islamic Center of Arizona in Glendale, Ariz., at about 1 a.m. on August 6. The plastic bottle landed within 20-25 feet of the apparent targets, who reported a chemical smell after the container exploded. No one was injured in the attack.

One of the two men outside the mosque was an imam who had recently been threatened because he is party to a discrimination lawsuit against US Airways over an incident last fall in Minnesota.

An Arizona mosque frequented by an imam involved in a high-profile lawsuit against airline passengers was hit by vandals early Monday with what police describe as a "pop bottle bomb."

Imam Didmar Faja says he was standing outside of the Albanian American Islamic Center of Arizona, just west of Phoenix, when the incident occurred at 1 a.m.

The plastic bottle contained pool-cleaning fluid and strips of aluminum foil, and was thrown from a red car driven by two persons. It landed about 20-25 feet from the imam, police said.

In a 10-page press release issued by the Council on American Islamic Relations, Muslims were warned to review their personal security and to "develop a list of attorneys who are willing to be consulted by the Muslim community in response to backlash incidents."

"Ask Muslim attorneys to volunteer their services to community members during this time of crisis," said the "community safety kit" issued by CAIR.

CAIR called the device an "acid bomb" that targeted the imam specifically because of the lawsuit, and called on "local and national law enforcement authorities to investigate the incident as a possible bias-motivated attack."

"Calling it an 'acid bomb' is kind of misleading," Officer Barnett said. "It was a plastic bottle with pool cleaner that expands and pops and squirts the pool acid. It's kind of like the Menthos [mints] and Coca Cola thing you see [on YouTube] -- the pressure mounts and it pops. It's not like a stick of dynamite was placed there."

Facts: It was a one-page release with excerpts from CAIR's community safety kit attached only on the e-mail version. Where she came up with "10-page release" is anyone's guess. Note that the entire release fits on one page of PRNewswire.

Facts: We did not call it an "acid bomb." Note that the phrase is always within quotes in our news release because that is how it was reported to us. We did not say Imam Faja was targeted "specifically because of the lawsuit." We said, "One of the two men outside the mosque was an imam who had recently been threatened because he is party to a discrimination lawsuit against US Airways over an incident last fall in Minnesota."

They didn't call it an acid but but in the same breath says it was in the CAIR news release. The room is beginning to spin.

I will skip the section where she tries to downplay the incident by selectively quoting a police officer who is not the lead investigator on the case.

Can anyone downplay mentos, the freshmaker?

Audrey Hudson: "It was not clear what the imam was doing outside of the center at 1 a.m., as prayers are scheduled for 4:30 a.m."

Facts: This is obviously designed to cast suspicion on the imam. Perhaps her deep knowledge of Islam does not include the fact that the last Muslim prayer of the day can take place late in the evening, and that the two men where officials of the mosque who quite possibly had administrative duties to perform after the late evening prayers. She could have even taken the bold step of actually asking someone what they were doing there.

"Cast suspicion" on the imam suing the airlines and the Jane and John Does?

But then, why bother with facts and interviews when you are an agenda-driven "journalist" engaged in a personal vendetta.

Did he just say agenda driven?

Please take appropriate steps to correct these misstatements of fact and distortions.

CAIR-MI: MUSLIMS GARNER 2 OF TOP 3 SPOTS ON HAMTRAMCK COUNCIL BALLOT -  Niraj Warikoo, Detroit FREE PRESS, 8/8/07

In a display of their emerging political power, Muslims were two of the top three vote-getters in Tuesday's primary election in Hamtramck for City Council.

Shahab Ahmed, an incumbent, received 574 votes, the most out of 12 candidates on the ballot. Delawar Mohamed Hussain came in third, with 428 votes.

The Top 6 out of the 12 will advance to the general election in November.

Another Muslim candidate, Abu Sayed Mahfuz, narrowly missed advancing. Mahfuz came in seventh place, garnering 376 votes, just nine votes behind incumbent Robert Zwolak, who got 385 votes.

"It's very noteworthy because not only does it reflect the changing demographics, but it also shows that Muslim politicians can appeal to voters outside their religious group," said Dawud Walid, head of the Michigan branch of the Council on American-Islamic Relations. "A Muslim can't be elected in Hamtramck just by depending on Muslims alone supporting them." (MORE)

2 charged with felonies in explosives scare Charleston.net

GOOSE CREEK — Two men pulled over Saturday in Goose Creek and detained for carrying explosives in the trunk of a car have been charged with possession of an incendiary device, Berkeley County Sheriff Wayne DeWitt announced today.

If convicted of the charges, Youseff Megahed, 21, and Ahmed Mohamed, 24, could face between 2 to 15 years in prison.

Is that all they'll get?

DeWitt said the men were pulled over Saturday night on U.S. Highway 176 while driving more than 60 mph in a 45-mph zone. When an officer approached the car, he saw one of them men fold a laptop computer, which the officer believed was suspicious, Dewtitt said

The officer asked them if he could search the car, which the men agreed to. When he asked if there was anything in the car he should know about, the men said there were fireworks in the trunk.

DeWitt declined to say this morning exactly what was found in the trunk. However, the FBI has already said the men are not suspected of orchestrating a terrorist plot.

And an Islamic community leader from Tampa, Fla., who’s been in touch with the families of the two detained college students, told The Post and Courier that Megahed and Mohamed are not troublemakers and that they a were simply on a weekend trip to North Carolina.

Ahmed Bedier, executive director of the Tampa chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, a civil rights organization for Muslims, said family members have told him they think the materials were leftover fireworks Megahed kept in his trunk since July 4.

“Both of them are really naïve kids,” Bedier said.

CAIR Tampa's Ahmed Bedier says that they are good kids and just had left over "July 4th fireworks" and they were on a road trip to North Carolina.  there car when searched had bomb making material, a backpack, a large gas can, and a red box from the car. An FBI spokesmen said no more information would be released until Monday at a 11:30am news conference.

THE LEGAL PROJECT TO DEFEND ROBERT SPENCER FROM CAIR
 

PHILADELPHIA - The Legal Project of the Middle East Forum announces its support of Robert Spencer and the Young America's Foundation (YAF), the latest victims of what appears to be a targeted intimidation and defamation campaign by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) designed to silence critics of its organization.

Spencer, a well-respected author and the director of www.jihadwatch.org, spoke today for YAF on "The Truth about CAIR" on the campus of George Washington University. As a consequence of this invitation, YAF's president Ron Robinson received a threatening and possibly defamatory letter written by CAIR's acting attorney, Joseph E. Sandler, of the law firm Sandler, Reiff & Young, P.C.

Sandler's letter (available in pdf format here) accuses Mr. Spencer, without offering any factual support, of being a "well-known purveyor of hatred and bigotry against Muslims," with "a history of false and defamatory statements." Sandler goes on to "demand that YAF cancel the subject session or else take steps to ensure that false and defamatory statements are not disseminated," and states an intention to pursue a "legal remedy" against YAF, should CAIR deem statements made by Spencer at the session "false and defamatory."

CAIR's letter appears to be aimed at maliciously harming Spencer's reputation, interfering in his lawful employment, and aimed to discourage both Spencer and YAF from exercising their fundamental rights to free speech and assembly. Furthermore, the letter wrongfully implies that YAF has an independent duty to censor Spencer, and that it may be subject to suit for allowing Spencer to speak on private property. It is our opinion that CAIR's pre-emptive accusations are without merit, without any legal basis, and that CAIR has yet to prove any of its statements as true.

Therefore, the Legal Project hereby gives CAIR and its attorneys notice that it, too, will pursue "every available and appropriate legal remedy to redress any false or defamatory statements that are made" or have been made by CAIR and its attorneys against Spencer. We advise CAIR's staff to govern themselves accordingly.

The Legal Project, established by the Middle East Forum in June 2007, is dedicated to safeguarding the democratic liberties afforded by the Constitution to U.S. citizens, namely the rights to free speech and free assembly. The Legal Project protects researchers and analysts working on the topics of terrorism, terrorist funding, Islam, and Islamism against those who seek to silence them through intimidation, defamation, and predatory lawsuits.

The executive director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Nihad Awad, participated in a three-day summit of US-based Hamas members and supporters in 1993. Until now, he had been identified only as Nihad LNU (last name unknown) in FBI reports and analyses. The meeting occurred in a Philadelphia hotel in the wake of a White House ceremony formalizing the Oslo Accords, a peace deal with the potential to end the decades-old conflict between Israelis and Palestinians. CAIR, which touts itself as America’s premier Muslim civil rights organization, was named as an un-indicted co-conspirator in the terror support trial of the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development and five of its officials. Omar Ahmad, who founded CAIR with Awad in 1994 and was previously identified as attending the Philadelphia meeting, also was named as an un-indicted co-conspirator. The FBI already had wiretap warrants on several people who wound up organizing the 1993 meeting and agents listened in on the meeting itself. They concluded the two-dozen men present were Hamas members or supporters. Transcripts and FBI analyses released since then show the meeting sought a strategy to kill the peace accord, which threatened to marginalize the Islamist movement. The group also discussed ways to improve Hamas fundraising in America. According to FBI reports, the men tried to hide their true agenda, agreeing not to even say the word “HAMAS” - but to call it “SAMAH” its reverse - even in their private conversations. Most of the participants were identified through surveillance and an examination of the hotel registry. But until Thursday, the identity of one person at the meeting – Nihad LNU - remained a mystery. Awad was asked about the meeting during a 2003 deposition for a civil lawsuit. He initially said he didn't think he had attended the Philadelphia meeting. When pushed he replied, "I don't remember." Nor did he remember whether he was invited. Previously available evidence shows Awad was at the 1993 Hamas meeting. He can be seen on videotape the following summer, acknowledging “I am in support of the HAMAS movement” during a seminar at Miami’s Barry University.

I spoke at the Young Americas Conference this past Spring and I can tell you there isn't a finer group of young people. Reagan's favorite organization is under fire from America's most dangerous organization, CAIR. Using, yet again the litigation jihad, they threaten YAF with this threat a day before Robert Spencer was scheduled to speak,“Our clients have instructed us to pursue every available and appropriate legal remedy to redress any false and defamatory statements that are made at the session.” All because Spencer was going to speak.

The Washington Times obtained a text of Mr. Spencer's speech, excerpts of which follow:

It is a common tactic of both the Left and the Islamic advocacy groups in America: to accuse every critic of purveying hatred and bigotry. But I am not intimidated by their threats, or troubled by their smears -- because I know I do not advocate hatred and bigotry, but a realistic appraisal of the Islamic jihad threat. ...

Look at the threatening letter CAIR's lawyers, Sandler, Reiff and Young, sent to the YAF about this very talk. This is just the latest example of a larger attempt to silence critics and those who say things about Islam and jihad that they don't like. Look at the campaigns of intimidation that CAIR has carried out against Paul Harvey, the producers of Fox's "24,' National Review magazine, and others who have said things CAIR doesn't like. ...

This campaign of intimidation has had its effect. Many mainstream media figures, even those who think of themselves as fearless conservatives, have not wanted to discuss the elements of Islam that jihadists use to justify their actions. ... They fear the wrath of CAIR. ...

If CAIR succeeds in smearing and silencing all those who dare to speak about the elements of Islam that jihadists use to justify their actions, and who dare to call upon CAIR itself and other groups to go beyond vaguely-worded condemnations of terrorism to real efforts to teach against the jihad ideology in schools and mosques, what chance do we have to resist the spread of that ideology? ...

And so I conclude today by asking the CAIR officials ... to set aside the weapons of legal threats and intimidation, and the reckless purveying of personal smears and defamation, and enter into a genuine public discussion of the material I have presented here. ... Let's have a dialogue, or a debate, whenever and wherever you say. Or you can sue me now, or sue the YAF, and try to silence me. But you won't be able to sue or silence all the American people who are deeply concerned about what you are doing. ...

n a brief interview with reporters before his speech to YAF's national student conference, Mr. Spencer was asked what he hoped students would get from his speech. "I would hope that they would understand that not everything is what it appears to be," Mr. Spencer said, saying that CAIR has "twisted" civil rights rhetoric in order to "advance their agenda."

The attempted bullying, however, comes as little surprise to anyone familiar with the organization behind the move: CAIR, the Council on American-Islamic Relations.

For years, CAIR has attempted to stifle debate and prevent inquiry into the domestic spread of radical Islam. Conservative columnist Cal Thomas was the latest target, when CAIR attempted to drum him out of his role as an official commentator at WTOP radio in Washington, D.C. The group was emboldened by its success in the same city two years earlier, when it got then-Disney-owned WMAL to can talk host Michael Graham. Similar such smear campaigns are legion.

If only CAIR could muster the same contempt—or any contempt, for that matter—for Islamic terrorists.

Contrary to the letter’s claim that the group “has consistently taken a principled position against terrorism and extremism,” CAIR simply has not done so. Never has CAIR condemned by name Islamic terrorist organizations Hamas and Hezbollah. Given the opportunity to condemn Hamas by Newsweek last December, CAIR executive director and co-founder Nihad Awad refused, claiming that the question was “the game of the pro-Israel lobby.”

While CAIR incessantly hypes its 2005 fatwa against terrorism and extremism, the document intentionally avoided defining the two terms. Fundamentalist Muslims who wish harm upon the U.S. and Israel do not consider themselves “extreme.” Nor do Hezbollah and Hamas believe that they are terrorists.

This is CAIR’s modus operandi: appearing to oppose terrorism, while simultaneously leading the charge against those who actually seek to thwart it.

Its approach to the lecture circuit is no different.

A late-night agreement yesterday guaranteed that so-called "John Doe" protection — to prevent airline passengers from being sued for reporting suspicious behavior — will get a floor vote in the House and Senate.

"This is a huge win — a hard-fought victory for House Republicans and, more importantly, for the American people," said Peter T. King, New York Republican and ranking member of the House Homeland Security Committee.

The provision survived a contentious congressional process before a House-Senate conference committee agreed just before midnight yesterday to include the measure in the final draft of the September 11 Commission bill.

The move ensures the provision cannot be amended on the floor. It is expected to come to a vote in both houses of Congress before the August recess.
