In the pursuit of the Muslim Brotherhood project's master plan to spread the political ideology of Islam across the world, Islam appproaches each country differently. In France they burn cars, cause civil unrest. In Lebanon the kill Christian leaders, install the Hezbos, and dramatically impede national elections, in Pakistan they kill each other and Bhutto, in the UK they bully, threaten, bomb, until they win (in England there are over 1350 Mosques.-  600 of which are controlled by an Islamist Imam who speaks clearly and openly about violent and armed civil war to make England entirely Islamist), in Russia they kill school children, in Darfur they commit genocide, rape all the women and sell the children into slavery, Israel they kill Jews and vow to annihilate the tiny Jewish state surrounded by gargantuan Islamic countries, at the UN they form Islamic coalitions and basically take over the world org ............ in the US they buy academia, invoke freedom of speech to kill freedom and speech, pass "hate speech legislation" and terror organization CAIR urges Islam to win elections;

Remember the case of the two South Florida students who were detained near a military base in South Carolina after pipe bombs were reportedly found in their car?

Yesterday, the U.S. Attorney's Office released additional details on the contents of their car: pipes filled with fertilizer, Karo syrup, kitty litter, bullets and fuses, a laptop with a history of web searches on Jihadist martyrdom, Hamas and Qassam rockets and video instructions for turning a remote-control car into a detonator.

When federal agents searched the men's car, a Toyota Camry registered to Megahed's brother, Yahia Megahed, they found the stuffed pipes wrapped in plastic bags in the trunk alongside a 5-gallon container of gasoline... Potassium nitrate is a low-grade explosive otherwise used as fertilizer. Kitty litter bound the ingredients while syrup could add fuel. "I think you can safely say it's a bomb," said Edward Dreizin, a New Jersey Institute of Technology chemical engineering professor. Agents also found a box of bullets underneath the front passenger seat, where Megahed sat. On a laptop hastily unplugged, agents discovered sites that concerned them, including searches of Qassam rockets, weapons developed by the Palestinian militant group Hamas, often made with steel pipe, liquid sugar and potassium nitrate...

When the men were taken into custody, they were questioned separately. But when they were placed in the back of a squad car together, the conversation -- in Arabic -- was recorded by a hidden microphone. Megahed reportedly asked Mohamed what happened to the pipes, if they exploded.

As investigators researched the mens' backgrounds, they found more disturbing information. In July, Mohamed posted a YouTube video that teaches viewers how to use a remote-controlled toy car as a detonator. The video's narrator says that it was intended "to save one who wants to be a martyr for another day in battle."

Mohamed admitted that he made the video and uploaded, according to authorities.

Authorities were also concerned about Megahed's recent predeliction for firearms. He recently bought a rifle, discussed purchasing a Beretta handgun, and joined a shooting range. The rifle had a telescopic sight, which is used to increase its effective range.

Megahed also possessed "multiple Egyptian passports" and visited a Sears photography center in July to acquire additional passport-sized photos. Megahed's passports reportedly offered different names. Megahed's recent travel, to Egypt, Canada, Saudi Arabia, and Nigeria, also raised prosecutors' fears.

Ahmed Bedier, director of the Central Florida office of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, was quick to distinguish between Megahed and Mohamed... He defended Megahed, saying it appeared he "just happened to be in the car." But he had harsher words for Mohamed... If he could talk to Mohamed, Bedier said, "I'd say, 'Wake up!' " He added, "Muslims don't get a second chance when they dabble with things like this. Not only will this have consequences on him, but it will have consequences on most of the Muslims in this country."

If I could talk to CAIR's Bedier, I'd say, "Wake up!" We know precisely what's going on here, Bedier.

Here is blatent example of the leftards at YouTube squashing the awards and placement of a video which doesn't meet their hate-America-first political agenda.

As soon as I saw this Anti-CAIR and Anti-Jihad video, I had a hunch that YouTube would try to squash it with their usual Orwellian tactics.  For that reason, when it started gathering awards I started doing some screen captures.  Just as expected, YouTube comes through and erases the awards and placement so that it can make room for their pro-jihadist Al-queda sniper videos. Google's "Do no evil." is a freeking joke.

CAIR CHAPTERS TO SPOT-CHECK TREATMENT OF RETURNING HAJJ PILGRIMS

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 1/4/2007) - The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said today that several of its chapters around the nation will interview Muslims returning from the annual Hajj, or pilgrimage to Mecca, to spot-check their treatment by airport security personnel and border protection authorities.

In December, CAIR's national headquarters reminded the 10-15,000 American Muslims going on Hajj to be aware of their civil and legal rights as airline passengers. CAIR also established a toll-free hotline (1-800-784-7526) for anyone who believes their rights were violated.

Also in December, CAIR welcomed an announcement by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) that the agency had provided special training about Islamic traditions related to the Hajj to some 45,000 airport security officers.

The Washington-based Islamic civil rights and advocacy groups said it is concerned about an increase in reports of alleged profiling of Muslims at the nation's airports.

The TSA Alert and the CAIR press release are mirror images. We should never have capitulated to the Democrats and made TSA a goverment agency. It should have been private. CAIR Welcomes TSA Hajj Sensitivity Training TSA Website

WASHINGTON -- The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today welcomed an announcement by the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) that it has provided special training about Islamic traditions related to the Hajj, or pilgrimage to Mecca, to some 45,000 airport security officers.

The TSA cultural sensitivity training includes details about the timing of Hajj travel, about items pilgrims may be carrying and about Islamic prayers that may be observed by security personnel. See: http://usinfo.state.gov/ (Search using the term "Hajj.").

Earlier this month, CAIR advised those going on Hajj to be aware of their civil and legal rights as airline passengers. CAIR's "Your Rights and Responsibilities as an American Muslim" pocket guide states: "As an airline passenger, you are entitled to courteous, respectful and non-stigmatizing treatment by airline and security personnel. You have the right to complain about treatment that you believe is discriminatory."

"We welcome the fact that airport security officers nationwide will now be better informed about Islamic traditions relating to Hajj," said CAIR Communications Director Ibrahim Hooper. "This proactive effort on the part of the Transportation Security Administration demonstrates that there is no contradiction between the need to maintain airline safety and security and the duty to protect the religious and civil rights of airline passengers." She apparently took a closer look at the radical front group calling itself the Council on American Islamic Relations, and rescinded an award to a CAIR official.

Dec. 29, 2006 - In a highly unusual move, Sen. Barbara Boxer of California has rescinded an award to an Islamic activist in her home state because of the man’s connections to a major American Muslim organization that recently has been courted by leading political figures and even the FBI.

Boxer’s office confirmed to NEWSWEEK that she has withdrawn a “certificate of accomplishment” to Sacramento activist Basim Elkarra after learning that he serves as an official with the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR). After directing her staff to look into CAIR, Boxer “expressed concern” about some past statements and actions by the group, as well as assertions by some law enforcement officials that it “gives aid to international terrorist groups,” according to Natalie Ravitz, the senator’s press spokeswoman.

CAIR reacted like, well, CAIR.  Hauling out that bogeyman - ISLAMOPHOBIA!

The move outraged CAIR officials who charged that the liberal Democratic senator was responding to the writings of Joe Kaufman, a blogger who has expressed sympathy for slain Jewish extremist Meir Kahane in the past , and whose columns regularly appear on the Web site of conservative activist David Horowitz. CAIR has formally asked for a meeting with Boxer and demanded that she withdraw the action—which one top CAIR official said smacks of “Islamophobia.”

“This is an attempt to marginalize the largest and most mainstream Muslim organization in the country,” says Hussam Ayloush, executive director of CAIR’s office in southern California. “This is absolutely unacceptable.”

Nihad Awad, CAIR’s top Washington official, vigorously denied the charges that CAIR has any links to terror groups and said the allegations are based on a “deliberate smear campaign” by individuals who cannot brook any criticism of the Israeli government. “We feel that the same crowd who is pushing these smears against CAIR is the same crowd as the neocons that pushed us into the Iraq war,” he says. “They are trying to smear the Muslim community and they are trying to silence its voice. This takes us back to the McCarthy era.” ...

...CAIR Executive Director Awad refuses to say whether he would also condemn Hamas—which has taken credit for similar attacks in Israel—as a group or even whether he considers it a terrorist organization like the U.S. State Department does. “We condemn these groups when they committed acts of terrorism,” he says. “But I’m not going to play the game of the pro-Israel lobby just so they can put words in our mouth. Our position is very clear.

“The entire issue is going back to Israel,” Awad adds. “If you love Israel, you’re OK. If you question Israel, you’re not. If that is the litmus test, no American Muslim and no freedom-loving person is going to pass that test.”

Hate acts against Muslims decline Washington Times

"Hate crimes" reported by Muslims have decreased significantly since the year of the September 11 terrorist attacks, according to the FBI, and harassment against Jews outnumber incidents against all other religious and ethnic groups.

Hate crimes and harassment against Jews far outnumber those against any other religion, including Muslims, according to new hate-crime statistics reported from 2000 through 2005.

Nearly 1,700 hate crimes against Jews were reported in 2000 and 2,118 in 2001, a significant spike that was similarly reflected in crimes reported against Muslims. Thirty-six hate crimes against Muslims were reported in 2000 and more than 500 in 2001 -- most of them after the Islamist attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, in which more than 3,000 Americans, including some Muslims, died.

The numbers dropped to 977 hate crimes against Jews and 151 hate crimes against Muslims in 2005, according to the most recent FBI numbers.

The preponderance of harassment of Jews doesn't surprise Dr. M. Zuhdi Jasser, a Phoenix physician and chairman of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy, who says anti-Semitism "has had hundreds of years of roots" in European countries and over the past century in the U.S. He predicts that "over the next 100 years, we will see the establishment of Islamophobia taking root. It is still a relatively new phenomenon, but at an accelerated fashion."

Your tax dollars at work: US government meets with CAIR and other Muslim leaders to discuss "Islamophobia" Via LGF

Why is the State Department participating in conferences like this? Why is the State Department participating in conferences with people like Nihad Awad and Mahdi Bray? And why is the State Department spending any time at all discussing "Islamophobia" in the U.S., when, if it exists at all, its cause is clear?

Just in case you're coming in late, Americans are an extraordinarily tolerant people. There are large numbers of immigrants in the U.S. right now, legal and illegal, and apart from some isolated incidents they are not being victimized. The age of "Dogs and Irish Not Allowed" is long gone. Muslims in America are not suffering from any large-scale discrimination or hatred, and much of CAIR's vaunted hate crimes report is trumped-up. "Islamophobia" is a political tool invented by people like the speakers at this conference, for the purposes of providing protected victim status for American Muslims. The primary cause of "Islamophobia," insofar as it exists at all, is precisely the disingenuousness of those same American Muslim leaders when confronted with acts of violence committed by their coreligionists, in the name of the religion. Americans aren't stupid. They can see through the shiftily-worded and inadequate condemnation of terrorism issued by the Fiqh Council of North America.

If anything fuels "Islamophobia," it is this constant jockeying for protected victim status, rather than an honest grappling with what in Islam gives rise to violence and fanaticism, and a rejection of those elements of the religion. But I'm sure that was one hypothesis that went undiscussed at this conference.

Read it all. I am in agreement with Steve on the direction the government is going. Disaster. Steve comments here;

For example, I am beginning to see signs that our government is leaning in a different direction than I want it to. The government is beginning to kow-tow to the beat of the enemy. We see the signs of it everywhere.

I am losing faith in government. I feel that they no longer have the ability to protect us. They haven't woken up yet. They are not aware of the threat before us. I am, frankly, astonished by all of this.

Therefore, I am choosing to protect myself and my family, all on my own. If I have to take decisive measures against my enemy to protect my interests, so be it. If I take matters into my own hands, I will do so, and fully realizing that any decisions I take were done on my own cognizance.

In other words, I am beginning to disagree with the direction that this nation is taking. We've become a nation full of sheeple. Sheeple might tell you "you know, I feel strongly in support of that," but their mindset is at another place. They tend to worry if the media will carry forth their story. They tend to be overtly concerned who will like them or who will dislike them. I guess I can chalk that up to human nature, but there comes a point where lines in the sand must be drawn, and people must move away from the sheeple, who continue to be apologetic and tolerant toward the things that I simply do not believe in.

Islamic Group Has Mastered Victimization Game

(CNSNews.com) - The Republican lawmaker who sparked a storm with comments about Muslims and the need to tighten immigration laws is the latest target of an Islamic advocacy group's "victimization game," a political analyst said Thursday.

It's a game that the Council of American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), has "mastered," Daniel Pipes, a critic of the group and director of the Middle East Forum, told Cybercast News Service.

CAIR is calling on Rep. Virgil Goode (R-Va.) to apologize for writing in a letter to constituents that says, "we will have many more Muslims in the United States if we do not adopt" strict immigration policies.

Pipes said CAIR was "perpetually on the prowl for any incidence of anti-Muslim sentiment, real or imaginary, spontaneous or provoked, major or minor."

The organization's goal, he said, was "to make the United States like so many other countries - a place where Muslims, Islam and Islamism cannot be freely discussed."

"It is imperative for Americans to retain their freedom of speech about Islam -- as it exists in relation to other religions -- and resist these many demands for remorse."

The latest CAIR controversy began when Rep. Goode wrote a letter in response to a constituent's concern about reports that Rep. Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress, may take the oath of office with his hand on the Koran rather than the Bible.

"When I raise my hand to take the oath on swearing-in day, I will have the Bible in my other hand," Goode wrote. "I do not subscribe to using the Koran in any way.

"The Muslim representative from Minnesota was elected by the voters of that district, and if American citizens don't wake up and adopt the Virgil Goode position on immigration, there will likely be many more Muslims elected to office and demanding the use of the Koran," he said.

"I fear that in the next century, we will have many more Muslims in the United States if we do not adopt the strict immigration policies that I believe are necessary to preserve the values and beliefs traditional to the United States of America and to prevent our resources from being swamped," Goode wrote.

The national legislative director of CAIR, Corey Saylor, called the remarks "Islamophobic" and said they "send a message of intolerance that is unworthy of anyone elected to public office."

The call for an apology from isn't the first time CAIR has pressed for action regarding the Ellison issue. When radio talk show host Dennis Prager wrote in a commentary last month that the Minnesota Democrat should not be allowed to take the oath of office using a copy of the Koran, CAIR called for Prager to be removed from the governing council of the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum.

"No one who holds such bigoted, intolerant and divisive views should be in a policymaking position at a taxpayer-funded institution," it said of Prager.

Despite the Muslim group's letters to the museum's council chairman, Fred Zeidman, to President Bush and to members of Congress who serve on the museum board, Prager remains on the council, although the museum's board did vote Thursday to distance itself from his remarks.

Prager told Cybercast News Service he did not understand how such activities fit CAIR's mission "to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding."

"I don't believe it's a moral organization," Prager said of CAIR. "It says it represents Muslims, but it has caused more friction than love between Muslims and non-Muslims. It seeks to find Islamophobia among the American people, the most tolerant, open people in the world."

Busy year

CAIR has sought apologies and other specific actions from several individuals and organizations during 2006, with mixed results.

Earlier this month, the group called on Wal-Mart to stop selling the "Left Behind: Eternal Forces" video game because it promoted a message of "religious intolerance." The nation's largest retailer is still selling the product.

In October, CAIR complained to KDWB-FM in Minnesota after the radio station broadcast a segment entitled "Muslim Jeopardy" that had such contest categories as "Infamous Infidels" and "Smells Like a Shia." After the station managers apologized for the skit, the group thanked them for "reacting positively" to the situation.

Ken Murray, the mayor of Redding, Calif., drew the organization's wrath in September, when he told an audience attending a 9/11 commemoration ceremony: "Either the Judeo-Christian philosophy will survive, or the Islamic philosophy will survive." CAIR called on Californians to repudiate Murray's comments.

The group succeeded in March in having a four-minute video entitled "Hadji Girl" pulled from the youtube.com website.

It also received an apology in February from Bill Handel of KFI-AM after the California talk show host made what it called "insensitive remarks" about a human stampede that killed more than 300 people during a pilgrimage in Mecca.

CAIR has also targeted President Bush several times during the past 12 months. In January, the group warned him to avoid using "loaded and imprecise terminology" when referring to Islam in his State of the Union address.

In August, the group criticized Bush for saying America was "at war with Islamic fascists" after U.K. authorities arrested 24 British Muslims suspected of plotting to bomb transatlantic flights. CAIR said the president's "hot button" terminology put the name of Islam and the Muslim community at risk.

One month later, Bush told a group of military officers that five years after the 9/11 attacks, "the terrorist danger remains." CAIR said that by focusing on al Qaeda, the president granted "undeserved legitimacy to extremists."

(Coral Springs, FL) Americans Against Hate (AAH), a civil rights organization and terrorism watchdog group, is calling on United States Senator Barbara Boxer to rescind the award she has presented to the Executive Director of CAIR-Sacramento Basim Elkarra.

The award, a certificate of achievement for "outstanding service," was given to Elkarra earlier this month.

As Executive Director, Basim Elkarra has defended someone that trained for jihad in a Pakistani terrorist camp; he has defended an imam that urged a Pakistani crowd to wage attacks on America; and he has defended an imam that was attempting to build an Islamic school for the purpose of teaching children how to commit violent acts against Americans.

As well, Elkarra has described Israel as a "racist" and "apartheid" state, and he has moderated an event that featured a Hamas operative who spent five years in an Israeli prison and who is currently on trial in the U.S. The organization Elkarra is affiliated with, CAIR, has a number of ties to Islamic extremism.

Four officials from CAIR have been charged with terrorist activity, two convicted and two deported. CAIR is currently the defendant in a lawsuit put forward by the family of FBI Agent John O'Neill for the group's role in the 9/11 attacks.

CAIR solicited funds for two "charities" whose accounts were frozen by the Department of Treasury for financing Hamas and Al-Qaeda. And CAIR's parent organization, the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), was shut down, shortly after it was found liable for the murder of an American boy during a Hamas attack.

AAH Chairman and founder of CAIR Watch, Joe Kaufman, stated, "Both Elkarra and the organization he represents exhibit behavior that is unworthy of such an honor as Senator Boxer has bestowed. We therefore demand that Senator Boxer withdraw the award immediately."

Second annual Rally Against Islamofascism Day

(LOS ANGELES, CA, 12/13/2006) - With the successful execution of simultaneous rallies against Islamic militancy held across the United States in early 2006, the United American Committee today announced a second Rally Against Islamofascism Day (R.A.I.D.), this time international, set for Saturday March 31st, 2007.

The event, described on the UAC's website at  will be a joint effort of organizations in a common goal of educating others to the dangers posed by radical Islam. “This is an opportunity for people of all walks of life to come together, setting aside political or religious differences.” remarks United American Committee Chairman Jesse Petrilla, who also noted that Muslims are especially encouraged to join in the rallies.

Prior to the announcement, the UAC reached out to an array of organizations to build a coalition to ensure the success of the rallies. While many organizations joined in support, one organization in particular refused to unite in the effort. CAIR, the Council on American Islamic Relations, when asked by the United American Committee if they would join in the rallies, refused by not answering e-mails from the group's members, and even hung up on UAC officials when the United American Committee attempted to contact CAIR's Washington DC offices.

CAIR has been criticized by many prominent individuals including U.S. Senators Richard Durbin, and Charles Schumer, due to CAIR's documented ties to the militant group Hamas as well as their engagement in what many view as suspect activities. Some individuals have gone as far as stating that CAIR is a front for supporting Islamic terror.

The UAC has engaged in past activities which it will tie into the March 31st rallies. In July of 2006, the United American Committee issued a challenge to patriotic American Muslim leaders to issue a fatwa, or Islamic edict, calling for condemnation and denunciation of Osama bin Laden and other terrorists by name. This was in response to a previous fatwa supported by The Council on American Islamic Relations which according to the UAC ambiguously defined terrorism without naming specific terrorists. CAIR was personally sent the challenge for the new fatwa by the UAC, and has as of yet not issued a letter of support for such an edict. “Why won't they [CAIR] issue a fatwa against bin Laden? Against Ayman al-Zawahiri? Or against other terrorists by name? They issue a fatwa condemning the killing of innocents, but who is innocent? Are the infidels innocent to them?” said homeless activist and UAC Board Member Ted Hayes.

When the UAC's challenge was taken to the Saudi funded King Fahd Mosque in Culver City, California the leaders of the mosque refused to entertain the idea, so on September 10th, 2006 the United American Committee staged a protest outside of the mosque where they hung an effigy of Osama bin Laden from makeshift gallows, inviting all of the mosque's members and leaders to join in the rally. While some members of the mosque came out and stood alongside UAC members hitting and throwing shoes at the dummy, the leadership of the mosque remained on the opposite side of the road where a counter protest was staged. “The hanging of bin Laden in effigy was an opportunity to hold the mosque leaders' feet to the fire for not supporting the fatwa, and I believe this Rally Against Islamofascism Day will be an opportunity to hold CAIR's feet to the fire.” said UAC Chairman Petrilla.

The UAC stated that by CAIR's refusing to support the fatwa, and by their nonsupport of the Rally Against Islamofascism Day, that CAIR has unwittingly chosen the location of the rallies. The United American Committee plans on setting the location of the March 31st rallies to take place in front of many of CAIR's 32 nationwide offices. “I want to see effigies of Osama bin Laden hung at all of these rallies, let the terrorists know we are on the offense, and let those who are with us join with us.” said Petrilla, urging those who will be organizing rallies to include a hanging of bin Laden in effigy at each event if possible.

Individuals are encouraged to organize rallies in their areas on the date of the Rally Against Islamofascism Day, and may contact the United American Committee via the UAC's web page which will post the locations of rallies as they are formed at www.UnitedAmericanCommittee.org

Muslim pilgrims urged to complain  Washington Times

   American Muslims making a religious pilgrimage to Mecca are being encouraged to file civil rights complaints if they feel discriminated against by airlines.

    The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), citing what it called the "airport profiling" of six imams removed from a recent flight, yesterday said Muslims traveling this month to the holy site in Saudi Arabia need to be aware of their rights.
   

"Given the increase in the number of complaints CAIR has received alleging airport profiling of American Muslims, we believe it is important that all those taking part in this year's hajj be aware of their legal and civil rights," said Ibrahim Hooper, CAIR spokesman.

    The group has established a toll-free hot line (800/784-7526) for victims of "flying while Muslim," as Muslims have begun departing for the weeklong hajj, a once-in-a-lifetime obligation to visit the holy city of Mecca, which this year begins Dec. 29.

    But M. Zuhdi Jasser, a Phoenix physician and chairman of the American Islamic Forum for Democracy (AIFD), said the announcement by CAIR "continues the tired stoking of the flames of victimization."

    "They are unfortunately exploiting, for purely political reasons, what should be a sacred and purely spiritual story of our faith's annual holy pilgrimage to Mecca," Dr. Jasser said.

    "We need new leadership and organizations which use their passions and the bandwidth of the media to lead the ideological fight against radical and political Islam rather than this tired pre-emption of supposed discrimination."

    CAIR is representing the six imams removed from a US Airways flight last month and has asked for a meeting with the airline to seek an out-of-court settlement. It maintains that police and witness reports detailing the imams unusual behavior before their removal last month were ethnically and/or religiously motivated.

    The imams say they were praying and did not, as the reports say, change seats and make remarks critical of President Bush and the Iraq war.

    Pilots and air marshals called the incident a "PC probe" to intimidate passengers and crew from reporting suspicious behavior by Muslim passengers and are fearful the incident will set off a domino effect of lawsuits.

    Debra Burlingame, whose brother was the pilot of American Airlines Flight 77 that crashed into the Pentagon on September 11, thinks this is a ploy to extort money from the airlines.

    "I think CAIR is soliciting complaints, and if they don't get it, they will make it up," said Miss Burlingame, who is also a director for the World Trade Center Memorial Foundation.

    "People complain about everything, including bad weather, so, the angry Muslim activists will be loaded for bear," Miss Burlingame said.

   A guide issued by CAIR advises Muslims that "as an airline passenger, you are entitled to courteous, respectful and non-stigmatizing treatment by airline and security personnel."

    "You have the right to complain about treatment that you believe is discriminatory," the guide says.

    Those treated in a discriminatory manner are advised by CAIR to "ask for the names and ID numbers of all persons involved in the incident. Be sure to write this information down."

    The Washington Times obtained police and witness reports just days after the incident involving the imams, and reported on Nov. 28 that the men did not sit in their assigned seats, asked for seat-belt extensions they did not need, and spoke in Arabic among themselves.

    Federal air marshals and pilots were also asked by The Washington Times to examine the imams' seating arrangement, and reported that it resembled a pattern used by the September 11 hijackers.

    "That behavior has been identified as a terrorist probe in the airline industry," one pilot said.

    One airline official who asked to remain anonymous called the CAIR threats about ethnic profiling "much ado about a practice that does not exist in any major airline."

    "You do wonder what the ultimate aim is here; to eliminate a discriminatory practice that does not exist, or is there some other agenda afoot," the official said.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) urged that talk show host and columnist Dennis Prager be removed from the taxpayer-supported museum's council because of a recent syndicated column in which he wrote that Keith Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress, should be prevented from taking his oath of office using the Quran.

(President Bush recently appointed Prager to the United States Holocaust Memorial Council, the governing board of the Holocaust Memorial Museum, for the remainder of a five year term expiring January 15, 2011.)

Michigan State University announced recently plans to offer a series of diversity training sessions for faculty and students, focusing on Islam-related subjects. The announcement came on the heels of an October 3 meeting between members of the university administration and the Muslim Student Union.

The Muslim group, in concert with the Michigan chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, had been calling on the university to institute such training since Indrek Wichman, a professor of mechanical engineering, sent an e-mail to the Muslim students group last April, in which he called them "dissatisfied, aggressive, brutal, and uncivilized slave-trading Moslems." It gets worse. At another Michigan university, Muslims move to disrupt Brigitte Gabriel's appearance in Detroit tomorrow.

Brigitte Gabriel is scheduled to speak at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor (Detroit) tomorrow evening. Emails have gone out to the Arab students urging them to come to the event and "disrupt" it. It actually urges "all Muslim brothers and sisters to do what they need to do to disrupt this event."

Omar Shahin calls for boycott of US Airways

Omar Shahin, one of the imams removed from the plane, has links to Osama bin Laden and Hamas. "Five clerics removed from US Airways fly back to Phoenix," by Martiga Lohn for Associated Press, with thanks to Twostellas:

"They took us off the plane, humiliated us in a very disrespectful way," Shahin said after the incident on Monday night.

The next morning Shahin called for Muslims and non-Muslims to boycott US Airways unless the company changes its ways. "They know what they have to do, they have to be fair and just with everybody," he said....

I gotta tell you when those TSA officials take that cattle prod to my person, I am not loving it but I am certainly not calling for hearings.

Airport spokesman Patrick Hogan said some witnesses said some of the imams made anti-American comments about the war in Iraq before boarding the flight, and that some of the men asked for seat belt extensions even though a flight attendant thought they didn't need them.

"There were a number of things that gave the flight crew pause," Hogan said. It wasn't immediately possible to verify whether the passengers who reported suspicious activity witnessed it themselves.

Shahin said Tuesday that three members of the group prayed in the terminal before the six boarded the plane, although on Monday night he said they had prayed on the plane. They entered the aircraft individually, except for one member who is blind and needed a guide, Shahin said. Once on the plane, the six did not sit together, he said.

Sold-out event raises more than $620,000 for civil rights work

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 11/20/06) - More than 1,000 people turned out on Saturday at the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) banquet in Arlington, Va., to hear addresses by several elected officials, including Keith Ellison, the first Muslim in Congress.

The event raised more than $620,000 to support CAIR's civil rights and advocacy work on behalf of the American Muslim community. (Another dinner held by CAIR's Southern California chapter (CAIR-LA) over the weekend raised more than $430,000. Some 1,800 people attended that event.)

Elected officials who spoke at the sold-out event included Representative-elect Ellison (D-MN), as well as Reps. Mike Honda (D-CA), Sheila Jackson Lee (D-TX) and Albert Wynn (D-MD). Ellison and Jackson Lee offered their addresses by video. Saqib Ali, who was elected to the Maryland House of Delegates (District 39) on November 7, was also in attendance.

This is despite the fact that the MPACUK peddles hysterical anti-Jewish hatred and the usual lies about Israel, and persecutes those who seek to defend Israel against annihilation. Now it has been revealed that Bukhari sent a donation to David Irving, who has for years denied the scale and nature of the Holocaust and is currently serving a jail sentence in Austria for Holocaust denial. As the Observer reported, Bukhari sent money to Irving and urged Islamic websites to ask visitors to make donations to his fighting fund.

In one email Bukhari tells Irving: ‘You may feel like you are on your own but rest assured many people are with you in your fight for the Truth.’ Bukhari pledges to make a donation of £60 to Irving’s fighting fund and says that he has asked ‘a few of my colleagues to send some in too’. He also offers to send Irving a book, They Dare to Speak Out, by Paul Findley, a former US Senator, who has attacked his country’s close relationship with Israel. Bukhari says Findley ‘has suffered like you in trying to expose certain falsehoods perpetrated by the Jews’… Bukhari confirmed sending the letters in 2000. ‘I had a lot of sympathy for anyone who opposed Israel,’ Bukhari told The Observer said. ‘I wrote letters to anyone who was tough against the Israelis - David Irving, Paul Findley, the PLO.”I don’t feel I have done anything wrong, to be honest. At the time I was of the belief he [Irving] was anti-Zionist, being smeared for nothing more then being anti-Zionist. The pro-Israeli lobby often accused people of anti-Semitism and smear tactics against groups and individuals is well known. I condemn anti-Semitism as strongly as I condemn Zionism (in my opinion they are both racist ideologies). I also believe that anyone who denies the Holocaust is wrong (I don’t think they should be put behind bars for it though).

Soccer Dad has an eye-opening look at the likely new head of the House Judiciary Committee, John Conyers (D-MI), who last year held a freakish, openly anti-Jewish mock impeachment hearing (so bad it was even condemned by mainstream media): Congressman Conyers and Islam.

Conyers claims that his resolution singles out tolerance for Muslims "obviously to respond to those who believe our nation would tolerate disrespect of that religion or its holy book." Such a straw-man argument, especially in light of the numerous bogus reportings of anti-Islamic bias crimes by CAIR does nothing for furthering the respect that is supposed to be the goal of Conyers' resolution to begin with.

The first Muslim elected to the United States Congress is a Democrat from Minneapolis with ties to an Islamic group that supports terrorism and a radical cult whose leader says God will destroy the entire white race and establish a paradise nation ruled by blacks.

Minnesota’s new Representative in the House, Keith Ellison, was endorsed and partly financed by the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), a massive U.S.-based organization that avidly defends Osama bin Laden and other militant Islamic terrorists and considers U.S. action against terrorists anti-Islamic. In fact, the group demanded the removal of a Los Angeles billboard describing bin Laden as “the sworn enemy” because it was “offensive to Muslims.”

Ellison, who converted to Islam as a 19-year-old college student, also has strong ties to the Nation of Islam, the black cult led by renowned anti-Christian and anti-Semite Louis Farrakhan. The group’s doctrine states that black people created white people in a genetic experiment 6,000 years ago and that “Judgment Day” means that the Gods will destroy the entire white race (devils) and establish a paradise nation ruled forever by blacks.

As if this weren’t enough to question the choice of Minnesota voters, as a state legislator Ellison supported and defended a convicted cop-killer and leader of a violent gang. Ellison used thug-like language to attack law enforcement officials as racists saying “we don’t get no justice, you don’t get no peace.” Ellison also supports and demands freedom for another convicted cop-killer named Assata Shakur, who lives in Cuba and remains on the FBI’s most wanted list.

Mr. Safai Arkawi held a grand dinner party in honor of (Senate Candidate) Jim Pederson. The main reason behind this dinner party was to support and collect money for the election campaign of Pederson.

Many leaders and community members of the Arabic community were invited to the Arkawi home including representatives from --- the multicultural business community, the press, al-Mehdi organization, CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations), the Arizona Islamic Political Action Committee, the Palestine committee, and a number of Arabs who belong to the Democratic party.

Mr. Safai started the dinner party giving a summary about the Arabic community in Arizona and the Democratic Party. He, then, presented Mrs. Janice (sic), the Democratic Party Coordinator in Arizona and who was a former member of the Arab-American Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC). She is the one who nominated the democratic candidate for the senate from Arizona to run against Jon Kyl who is running for another term.

And we should mention that Kyl is a Republican candidate known to be a big supporter of Israel and the Zionist lobby in Congress. Several meetings had occurred in the past three years between him and the Arabic community where they discussed several issues of interest to the Arabic community on the local and international level. The community tried to build a bridge with Kyl, but it was collapsed lately under the different positions he took, during the war on Lebanon and Palestine.

The founder of CAIR and the Holy Land Foundation has been found guilty of ties to terror. And Charles, LGF points out that the jihad loving media neglects to mention his CAIR ties;

Ghassan Elashi, co-founder and former chairman of the now-defunct Richardson-based Holy Land Foundation, was sentenced Thursday to six years and eight months in prison on charges that he did business with a terrorist and violated export laws with his brothers and their company InfoCom Corp. Robert Spencer: Yeah, but these things are in the Quran. The Quran says, chapter 3 verse 28, "Don't treat Jews and Christians as your friends and protectors, unless you're doing it to guard yourself against them." And the traditional commentators, mainstream Muslim commentators on that verse explain that that means that you can pretend to be their friends in order to bade the effort for the Muslims, the Muslim cause, so there's a tradition, actually, that says, "We smile in their faces and then we curse them behind their backs." And this is something that is a part of Islamic tradition, this kind of deception of unbelievers. It doesn't do us any good to act as if, well, this is something kind of unsavory, or insulting, and so we're not going to talk about it, or acknowledge that it exists.

Pamela: But why would they change, if they're succeeding? Why would they change? I mean this our approach in America, is kumbaya and to work behind the scenes. They have a different approach in each country. Why would they change? They're succeeding. This is what I don't understand. It's counter intuitive to me.

Robert Spencer: Well, I think that they have a kind of approach in the United States because I think that they realize, they reckon in any case, that a more confrontational approach will only raise resistance to them in America.

Pamela: Right.

Robert Spencer: Whereas in Europe, it seems pretty clear, that the jihad groups figure that they can get away with quite a bit more, and so they're much more assertive and much less inclined to assimilate.

Pamela: But it's working.

AAH TO PROTEST CAIR, ELLISON AND DAVIS SAYS CANDIDATES TAKING MONEY FROM THOSE CONNECTED TO TERRORISTS IS A "BETRAYAL OF THE VOTERS"

(Coral Springs, FL) On Saturday, October 14, 2006, Americans Against Hate (AAH) will be leading a protest against the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), Minnesota Candidate for U.S. Congress Keith Ellison, and Florida Gubernatorial Candidate Jim Davis. The protest will be taking place at the Southwest Focal Point Senior Center, in Pembroke Pines, Florida, which is playing host to a CAIR sponsored event featuring Ellison as Keynote Speaker.

The reason for the protest is to call attention to the fact that both Ellison and Davis have accepted campaign donations from CAIR officials. According to records, Keith Ellison received contributions from CAIR's National Executive Director Nihad Awad and CAIR's Government Affairs Director Corey Sawyer. As well, according to records, Jim Davis has received a contribution from the Communications Director of CAIR-Florida Ahmed Bedier.

AAH calls this a conflict of interest and a betrayal of the voters, as CAIR has been linked to convicted terrorists, terrorist acts and terrorist groups overseas. CAIR was incorporated in June of 1994 by three leaders of the Islamic Association for Palestine (IAP), a Hamas front co-founded by the number two leader in Hamas today, Mousa Abu Marzook. Two of CAIR's former representatives are currently serving jail time for conducting terrorist activities with groups connected to Hamas and Al-Qaeda. And CAIR is currently the defendant in a lawsuit for the murder of an FBI Agent who was killed during the 9/11 attacks.

Both Awad and Bedier, two of the campaign contributors, have made disturbing statements with regard to terrorist organizations. Awad stated, in March of 1994, "…I am in support of the Hamas movement more than the PLO." And Bedier, in December of 2005, when asked if he believed Sami Al-Arian's association with Palestinian Islamic Jihad was immoral, said, "To a certain degree. Now, before 1995, there was nothing immoral about it." In addition, in July of 2006, Bedier co-hosted a radio show entirely devoted to praise for Hezbollah.

AAH Chairman and founder of CAIR Watch, Joe Kaufman, who will be speaking at the protest, stated, "It is beyond bad taste and completely unacceptable for candidates seeking high positions within the U.S. government to accept money from those individuals that support terrorist organizations and who are connected to a group whose former officials include convicted terrorists. This is nothing more than a betrayal of the voters of Minnesota and Florida."

CAIR-NY TO TAKE PART IN MTG ON QURAN DESECRATION
( 10/3/06) - On Tuesday, October 3, the New York chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NY) will participate in a town hall meeting at Pace University to discuss a recent incident in which a Quran, Islam's revealed text, was found in the toilet in a campus men's room. CAIR-NY is calling on the university to treat the incident as a possible hate crime.

CAIR-NY sees this incident as evidence of the growing phenomenon of Islamophobia in the

NEW YORK (AP) - A lower Manhattan college is investigating how a paperback copy of the Quran from the campus library ended up in a public toilet, school officials said Tuesday. The discovery at ace University was among three separate incidents in the past two weeks involving vandalism with racial or religious overtones. In the other two, racial slurs were scrawled on a student's car parked at a satellite campus in Westchester and on a bathroom wall at the downtown campus.

I am starting to believe, and you may keep an eye on this, that CAIR is using these events to proselytize, preach, and deliver Islam to the public.  They are using these events to become the Jehovah's Witnesses of ‘diversity.’  The may even be creating the events, who knows.  Everytime something happens CAIR is there to condemn, and then say we need to come into and on campus, school, workforce and teach ‘diversity’ and let people be aware of what ‘Islam’ is.

Their ‘diversity’ training has nothing about diversity in it.

Very little has been said in the mainstream media about the Islamic coup in Thailand last week but there is much you should know. Great piece over Canada Free Press here;

The Sword of Islam may not take on the form of war and or terrorism, but take the form of political action, bloodless coups, finance and media propaganda.

The actions are to achieve the same goal--the establishment of the Islamic Kingdom of God on Earth and implementation of Shariah law. In the case of Thailand it was a 'bloodless' coup led by Muslim Gen. Sonthi Boonyaratkalin ostensibly to remove a corrupt democratically elected government. As Time Magazine (Asia) on September 25 reported Gen. Sonthi was born near Bangkok, he's the first Muslim in this predominantly Buddhist nation to hold the position. Sonthi is a descendant of Thailand's first Islamic spiritual leader, and his mother was a lady-in-waiting at the royal court. Whether this will lead to an Islamic government is unknown.

In any case the events do not encourage the spread of democracy in the Asia Pacific region. The coup leaders broadcast on September 19 that they have suspended the constitution and dissolved the Cabinet, Senate and the constitutional court. In most ministries, permanent secretaries will take over temporarily, they said. The Associated Press on September 26, 2006 stated that 'The United States has growing misgivings about the behavior of the military men who took power in Thailand and wants them to make good quickly on their promises to move back toward democracy, the State Department said Tuesday' 'Our concern is that Thailand get back on the pathway to democracy,' McCormack said. 'The actions taken in this coup were clearly a setback for Thai democracy."

UPDATE: From FOX News Al Qaeda's no. 2 Ayman al-Zawahiri called President Bush a "deceitful charlatan" in a new video message posted on the Internet Friday by the group's media arm.

The new 17-minute video message, titled "Bush, the Pope of the Vatican, Darfur, and the Crusader Wars," was posted in two parts and carried the label of As-Sahab, Al Qaeda's media arm.

In the first part, which carries English subtitles, Zawahiri is in an office with a lamp, a cannon and a flag bearing "No God, but Allah." In the second, the deputy Al Qaeda leader appears dressed entirely in white and there is no background.

"Bush, you deceitful charlatan, be aware that the liberation of our captives is a debt on our shoulders which we must fulfill, with Allah's help and power," Zawahiri said in the video. Check out their SITE.

(HERNDON, VA, 9/28/06) - The Maryland and Virginia chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-MD/VA) announced today that a Muslim ninth-grader attending Lake Braddock High School in Burke, Va., will now be allowed to wear Islamic attire in gym class after initially being threatened with failing the class if she did not wear shorts. The teacher allegedly wrongfully asserted that the law required that the student wear the shorts.

The student's family contacted CAIR-MD/VA for assistance in resolving the issue.

CAIR-MD/VA will conduct diversity training for some of the school's newer staff.

CAIR-MD/VA has also launched an initiative to visit local middle and high schools to review their policies for accommodating the religious needs of Muslim students during Ramadan, Eid and throughout the school year.

CAIR also offers a booklet, called "An Educator's Guide to Islamic Religious Practices," that is designed to help school officials offer reasonable religious accommodation to Muslim students.

A number of congressional staffers, American Muslim community leaders, members of the military and law enforcement, representatives of civil rights groups, and diplomats from Muslim nations joined the House members in the networking event.

Several of the elected officials who spoke at the iftar expressed appreciation for CAIR's civil liberties advocacy work.

LATHRUP VILLAGE, Mich., Sept. 26 (UPI) -- The U.S. Council on Amnerican-Islamic Relations has accused a Michigan congressman of using 'polarizing' language.

CAIR's Michigan chapter said Tuesday its representatives wanted to meet with Rep. Thaddeus McCotter, R-MI, over what it called his use of "polarizing language" on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.

CAIR said that McCotter had used the term "jihadist-fascist" while discussing U.S. policy in Iraq in a House debate. CAIR quoted the congressman as saying, "The crushing weight of putting Iraq back into the terrorist and the jihadist-fascist camp will have enormous ramifications. . ."

"Representative McCotter should use his time on the House floor to foster dialogue and mutual understanding, not to introduce hot-button terms that will further damage our nation's image in the Islamic world," said CAIR's Michigan Executive Director Dawud Walid.

Walid said President George W. Bush had stopped using the term "Islamic fascist" after Muslims in America and around the world had protested that it was ill-defined and counterproductive in persuading people in the global conflict against terror.

OHIO CAR DEALER DROPS 'JIHAD' RADIO ADS, OFFERS APOLOGY

(COLUMBUS, OH, 9/25/2006) - The Ohio chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Ohio) said today that proposed "jihad-themed" radio advertisements for a car dealer in that state will not be aired.

The ads reportedly would have proclaimed a "jihad" on the U.S. auto market and offered "Fatwa Fridays" with sales representatives in "burqas" giving free swords to children.

An official with Dennis Mitsubishi in Columbus, Ohio, told CAIR-Ohio that the dealership has issued an apology for any misunderstanding caused by "an attempt at humor that fell short."

In a statement, Dennis Mitsubishi owner Keith Dennis said his company ultimately decided not to air the spots:

"The public reaction to this story has been significant. A large number of people have contacted us. Lots of them have seen the humor we were trying to convey, but far too many were clearly bothered by it. This was simply an attempt at humor that fell short. I wish to offer my sincere apology to anyone who was offended. We do not wish to alienate anyone in our community - all of whom are potential customers."

CAIR"s emphasis, not mine. Note what is emphasized.

"We appreciate the dealership's constructive reaction to feedback about the proposed advertisements," said Adnan Mirza, director of CAIR-Ohio's Columbus office. "We accept the apology from Mr. Dennis and hope that it and the decision not to air the spots will bring this incident to a close."

CAIR ADVANCES CRUSADE AGAINST POPE

America, CAIR wants to dhimmitize your pope. He may not be my religious leader, my "pope" but I love him just the same. I was, understandably, disappointed in his position in the Israel/Islamic war. It was a mistake to dismiss Hezb'Allah's blood lust and murder and to hold Israel up to an impossible standard (both militarily and morally.)

But now the Pope has spoken truth to militant Islam and the barbarians are out for blood. The new fascism, the crime of opinion, Islam has no sense of justice.

Across the world, Pope Benedict XVI came under increasing critical fire t0day over comments he made about Islam, as Muslim leaders around the world angrily accused him of dividing religions and demanded an apology. In Britain, Gaza, Iraq, Syria and Indonesia, Muslim leaders registered their protest. The Parliament in Pakistan passed a resolution against the pope's statements, and the government later summoned the Vatican envoy to express official displeasure. In Lebanon, Grand Ayatollah Mohammed Hussein Fadlallah, the most senior Shiite cleric, demanded "a personal apology — not through his envoys."

And emotion spilled over in Turkey, where Benedict has scheduled a visit in November, as a top official in the Islamic-rooted ruling party said that the pope is "going down in history in the same category as leaders such as Hitler and Mussolini."

"He has a dark mentality that comes from the darkness of the Middle Ages," the official, Salih Kapusuz, deputy leader of Prime Minister Recep Tayyib Erdogan's government, was quoted on the state-owned Anatolia news agency. "It looks like an effort to revive the mentality of the Crusades."

Many Muslims are also comparing his comments with the unflattering cartoons of the Prophet Muhammad which stoked deep Muslim anger earlier this year. More here 

CAIR seeks meeting with Vatican representative in Washington, D.C.

(WASHINGTON, D.C., 9/15/2006) - The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) today called for increased dialogue between Muslims and Catholics over the controversy sparked by remarks perceived as insulting to Islam and the Prophet Muhammad made by Pope Benedict XVI. CAIR is also seeking a meeting with the Vatican's representative in Washington, D.C., to discuss the remarks.

In an address on Tuesday, the Pope quoted a 14th century Byzantine Christian Emperor as saying: "Show me just what Muhammad brought that was new, and there you will find things only evil and inhuman, such as his command to spread by the sword the faith he preached."

In a statement issued today, the Washington-based Islamic civil rights and advocacy group said:

"The proper response to the Pope's inaccurate and divisive remarks is for Muslims and Catholics worldwide to increase dialogue and outreach efforts aimed at building better relations between Christianity and Islam. This unfortunate episode also offers an opportunity for Christians to learn more about Islam, the Prophet Muhammad and the Islamic concept of jihad.

"Jihad is a central and broad Islamic concept that includes struggle against evil inclinations within oneself, struggle to improve the quality of life in society, struggle in the battlefield for self-defense (e.g., - having a standing army for national defense), or fighting against tyranny or oppression. 'Jihad' should not be translated as 'holy war.'

Who writes their copy. Those unfamiliar with the definition of jihad must read Future Jihad by Walid Phares, Bat Ye'or, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Wafa Sultan, Andrew Bosotm,

Jon Quixote writes of A.Madinnerjacket's new persona as a kind of a rebranding here.

In advertising, there is a concept called "re-branding" - which essentially means that when one brand (e.g. Coke, Skechers, etc.) gets into trouble for any reason, then it's time for a massive image adjustment, if not a complete re-launch, under a similar or different brand name.

It seems that CAIR,  Islamic Ministry of Propaganda here in America  is rebranding as well.

He also wrote about the need to transform CAIR in ways that better reflect the group's core commitment to justice, education, diversity, and dialogue.

Ahmed concluded his letter by stating: "CAIR is your organization and it is our privilege and honor to serve you and to promote a better America."

CAIR, America's largest Islamic civil liberties and advocacy group, has 32 offices and chapters nationwide and in Canada. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.

I quite agree -- a first for me and the Washington Post. But Dana Milbanks nails it (no pun intended) in his priceless "Washington Sketch" piece on the CAIR sponsored Jew hating hest.

Pronouncing Blame on the Israel Lobby

It was quite a boner.

University of Chicago political scientist John Mearsheimer was in town yesterday to elaborate on his view that American Jewish groups are responsible for the war in Iraq, the destruction of Lebanon's infrastructure and many other bad things. As evidence, he cited the influence pro-Israel groups have on "John Boner, the House majority leader."

Actually, Professor, it's "BAY-ner." But Mearsheimer quickly dispensed with Boehner (R-Ohio) and moved on to Jewish groups' nefarious sway over Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.), who Mearsheimer called " Von Hollen."

Such gaffes would be trivial -- if Mearsheimer weren't claiming to be an authority on Washington and how power is wielded here. But Mearsheimer, with co-author Stephen Walt of Harvard's Kennedy School, set off a furious debate this spring when they argued that "the Israel lobby" is exerting undue influence in Washington; opponents called them anti-Semitic.

Yesterday, at the invitation of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), they held a forum at the National Press Club to expand on their allegations about the Israel lobby. Blurring the line between academics and activism, they accepted a button proclaiming "Fight the Israel Lobby" and won cheers from the Muslim group for their denunciation of Israel and its friends in the United States.

Whatever motivated the performance, the result wasn't exactly scholarly.

Professors John Mearsheimer and Stephen Walt, authors of "The Israel Lobby and U.S. Foreign Policy," a largely discredited report alleging that the "Israel lobby" has distorted the foreign policy of the United States to the point of serious damage to U.S. interests,  appeared at a panel discussion on Aug. 28 sponsored by the radical Islamist group CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations). CAIR's claims to be an "Islamic civil rights" group are belied by the fact that at least five of its employees and board members have been jailed or otherwise criminally implicated in terrorism or terror-related activities.  That CAIR is supportive of terrorist groups, and closely tied to the Palestinian terror group Hamas in particular, is well known. A recent article in Middle East Quarterly , for example, quoted Steven Pomerantz, the FBI's former chief of counterterrorism, as saying that "CAIR, its leaders, and its activities effectively give aid to international terrorist groups." According to the same article

"the family of John P. O'Neill, Sr., the former FBI counterterrorism chief who perished at the World Trade Center, named CAIR in a lawsuit as having 'been part of the criminal conspiracy of radical Islamic terrorism.' "

It is nothing short of shocking that Walt, of Harvard's Kennedy School, and Mearsheimer, of the University of Chicago, would agree to participate in CAIR's panel on "The Israel Lobby and the U.S. Response to the War in Lebanon." While they claim to be foreign policy "realists" with a patriotic concern for U.S. national interests, Walt and Mearsheimer choose to make common cause with a group that long defended Osama bin Laden, even after his first terror attacks against the United States, that advises Muslim Americans not to cooperate with law enforcement officials, and that has sponsored a number of events with William Baker, a known neo-Nazi. This does not exactly sound pro-American.

A professor at Harvard Law School, Alan Dershowitz, whom the authors call an “apologist” for Israel, said he found much of the paper to be “trash.” He said, “It could have been written by Pat Buchanan, by David Duke, Noam Chomsky, and some of the less intelligent members of Hamas.An intelligent member of Hamas would not have made these mistakes.”

Richard Baehr and Ed Lasky wrote a point for point incriminating essay in The American Thinker titled  "Stephen Walt's War with Israel" It is rather long and detailed and must be read;

It is a work without a trace of balance, in essence no more than an angry polemic disguised as academic research. “The Israel Lobby” is a long, bitter, op-ed piece given a patina of respectability because of where the authors are employed.  They may feel themselves protected from criticism by tenure and their titles. They live and work in the proverbial ivory towers of an academic environment that has become an Arab-subsidized lobby against Israel. Walt and Mearsheimer have an axe to grind.

  And Martin Peretz, a retired lecturer at Harvard, who is editor of The New Republic, a magazine named in the report as one of those that “zealously defend Israel at every turn,” said, “It is easier to attribute disloyalty to Jews than to question the loyalty of Islamists.This is really questioning the loyalty of Jews, that is what this is about."

The Council on American-Islamic Relations estimates that some 20,000 Americans convert to Islam each year, with women outnumbering men approximately four to one. According to Georgetown professor Yvonne Haddad, coauthor of Muslim Women in America, some, like Collins, are inspired by the rules of the Koran, which they find empowering. Some are seeking a community that endorses a woman's more traditional role as homemaker. Others are purely on a spiritual quest. "I think Americans should see them as women who have found themselves," says Haddad.

Timna Valore-Schulze, 24, a receptionist from Bothell, Wash., wanted to become a nun as a young girl. Instead, after trying Episcopalian, Baptist, Pentecostal, Buddhist and Hindu congregations, she converted to Islam in 2001, deciding "it was the most feminist religion I had ever seen" because of its support for women's rights. Imagine my surprise when I received the Muslim Brotherhood project's American propaganda tool, CAIR's email alert, to find Atlas Shrugs referred to as an anti- Islam hate blog and that I was the object of their hate which puts me in the best company......

What nerve. I love Wafa Sultan, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Walid Phares, Ibrahim Youssef, Walid Shoebat,  Nonie Darwish among many others. It's the  murdering, beheading, Jew hating, America hating  jihadis I have a problem with. And so should they.
I ought to take a page out of the CAIR playbook and litigate the jihad outta them.

JOHN BOLTON GRANTS INTERVIEW TO ANTI-ISLAM HATE SITE - TOP

Just a day after his failing negotiations over Lebanon were rescued by Condi Rice at the U.N., John Bolton granted an interview. It wasn't an interview with the New York Times - as Steve has pointed out here before, Bolton doesn't speak to Warren Hoge at NYT because of ideological differences and perceived media bias.

Apparently, he will grant an exclusive 41-minute interview to someone who calls who believes Islam is a "religious rationale for Arab imperialism."

Bolton granted the interview on Sunday with Pamela of Atlas Shrugs, a nearly-all-issue right-wing blog. During the interview, Pamela called Kofi Annan a "jihadi tool" and said that someone needed to slap Lebanese Prime Minister Fuad Seniora. Bolton, for his part, allowed this rhetoric to stand, even sheepishly reaffirming some of it along the way. . .

Pamela's remarks during the interview were inflammatory and outrageous - on par with, say, a Bill O'Reilly. But a quick look around Atlas Shrugs makes the O'Reilly Factor look like Sesame Street.

AS has some pretty crazy policy prescriptions, like an immediate U.S. attack on Iran, but that alone doesn't make Bolton's interview condemnable. The problem is, AS is an anti-Islam hate blog. (MORE)

Give me a break. Bolton talks to everyone. He is on TV almost everyday. He just recentlydid a whole show on FOX's dayside. This is CAIR's way of trying to shut up the truthtellers. Ain't going to happen.

'Arc of Extremism' By WILLIAM SHAWCROSS

LONDON -- It took President Bush to tell the truth to Britain about the alleged massive plot to blow U.S.-bound airliners out of the sky. In his first comment on the apparently foiled attempt, he put it simply: "This was a stark reminder that this nation is at war with Islamic fascists."

He is right, but in the first news reports in Britain yesterday, the words "Islamic" or "Muslim" were hardly mentioned, let alone the dread word "fascist." Instead the common code-words on television were that the 24 men arrested were "British-born" and "of Pakistani origin." No mention of their Islamist ideology. Does the BBC think they might turn out to be from Pakistan's embattled Christian minority? I don't think so.

In Europe, the truth is so terrible that we are in denial. Perhaps it is understandable. We simply do not know how to deal with the fact that we really are threatened by a vast fifth column, that there are thousands of European-born people, in Britain, in France, in Holland, in Denmark -- everywhere -- who wish to destroy us. You see this denial in the coverage of Israel's war against Hezbollah. The deaths in Lebanon are utterly tragic. But if you watched only British television, particularly the BBC, you would be hard-pressed to understand that Israel has been forced into a war for its survival. Last weekend people marched in an anti-Israel march though London carrying banners proclaiming "We are all Hezbollah Now."

As the historian Victor Davis Hanson recently pointed out, there is a moral madness at work here. We refuse to admit there is a pattern to global terrorism. We are terrified of being called "Islamophobic." European papers are frightened to publish cartoons which some Muslims demand we censor, but are happy to portray the Israelis as latter-day Nazis. Not for nothing does Mr. Hanson say that we have forgotten the lessons of 1938.

Iranian exile Hamid Rezah Eshagee was appalled at the inclusion of Mortazavi in the delegation, calling it "a humiliation, a provocation and an act of defiance" on the part of Iran toward the council and also Canada.

Canadian Foreign Minister Peter MacKay said in a news release that he is disgusted by Iran's action.

"The presence of Mr. Mortazavi in Iran's delegation demonstrates the government of Iran's complete contempt for internationally recognized principles of human rights," he said.

"The conduct of the government of Iran has been absolutely unacceptable," Prime Minister Stephen Harper said on Friday. "We're appealing to the international community to use all manner of law available to detain this individual and have him face justice."

Regardless of where the truth ultimately is, at this point the major media’s treatment of Haditha is little more than a literate lynch mob in a rush to judgment.

This isn’t an attempt to wiggle out of responsibility for anything that happened at Haditha by bashing the media. But, to be shocked there's gambling at Rick's, or that some innocents die in any war, especially when harboring and abetting the enemy, is ignorant and purposeful hypocrisy.

Among the only hard facts known is that the military took this incident seriously from the start by launching an investigation so thorough that even the hostile Iraqis in that village have given it respect. That’s more than media commentators give to our nation, its military, or the handful of Marines actually involved by trotting out inapplicable and inappropriate comparisons to My Lai, an exception itself, in order to bemoan and undermine our entire mission in Iraq. They can say all they want that they are trying to uncover facts, and they are, but the prominence and surrounding fluff is simply irresponsible.

NYC:  From Riches to Rags in Just One Day

Yesterday's early news would have caused one to believe that New York City was rolling in dough---or, more accurately, dinero.

Alan D. Aviles, the president of New York City's Health and Hospitals Corporation,  went out of his way to let illegal aliens know that local hospitals would be there to serve them, with no questions asked.   

Aviles even  issued a letter to city residents in which he advised immigrants that local hospitals would keep all information, including immigration status, confidential.

However, New York's open wallet policy for criminals there illegally does not quite square with the city's reaction to the new Homeland Security budget.

An article titled "How the Right Played the Fascism Card Against Islam" on the Web site of [CAIR] the Council on American-Islamic Relations is highly critical of using the term "Islamofascism."
“Fascism is coming back into fashion, at least in the propaganda wars. For the right, it comes in the shape of a new word: ‘Islamofascism’. That conflates (sic) all the elements into one image: suicide bombs, kidnappings, and the Qur’an; the fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan; Iranian clerics and Hitler … Usage has gathered momentum among commentators and academics who seek a verbal missile to debilitate those who disagree with them. They have adopted it as a sort of Judeo-Christian war cry.

Unlike CAIR, many Arab liberal and reformist writers, have supported such an analogy.A Saudi columnist, Muhammad bin ‘Abd Al-Latif Aal Al-Sheikh, published a series of articles in the Saudi daily Al-Jazirah in July, attacking the ideology of the Al-Salafiyya movement (long associated with Saudi Wahhabi Islam). He said that the ideology of this movement was similar to, or even worse than, the Nazi ideology, and that it should be dealt accordingly.

Just as the world uprooted Nazism at the Potsdam conference, Al-Sheikh explained that the West should follow suit with Islamism after the attacks of September 11, 2001: “I still believe that one of the primary missions of the international community today is to repeat its experience with Nazism and to deal with this dangerous barbarian culture [of Islamofascism] exactly as it dealt with the Nazi culture. If this does not happen, the near future is liable to bring many [events], the consequences of which will be far more severe for all of humanity than [the consequences] of World War II.”

    A columnist for the London Arabic daily Al-Hayat, Zuheir Abdullah, blamed what he termed “Arab fascism”and “Islamism”for leading to the current backwardness of the Middle East. In an August 2003 article he wrote, “since 1948, primitive Arab fascism,” sometimes “allied with fundamentalist Islam,” has produced only “empty slogans.” Mr. Abdullah continued, “many simple-minded people and ignorant persons were unfortunately brainwashed and turned into the fuel of this extremism.” He concluded by stating the Arab world’s embrace of fascism and Islamism has led it to adding “almost nothing” to modern civilization.

It has a number of measures we only wish our government would be forced to undertake. Until the Palestinian Authority takes serious steps to stop terrorism, recognizes Israel's right to exist, has financial transparency, and a number of other reasonable conditions, the bill would:

* Restrict all financial and other assistance to the Palestinian Authority;

* Restrict all financial and other assistance to the Palestinian controlled-areas of the West Bank and Gaza;

* Restrict monies to UN agencies and programs helping the Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza;

* Designate the Palestinian Authority as a Terrorist Entity;

* Deny Visas for PA officials and prohibit them from having representatives in the U.S., including diplomats;

* Target international financial institutions funding them; and

* Prohibit any U.S. officials from having any diplomatic ties with Palestinian terror organizations (that one should have been U.S. policy long ago).

EU officials say that the guidelines, which are not legally binding, will ask European governments to shun the phrase "Islamic terrorism" in favor of "terrorists who abusively invoke Islam." Other terms being considered by the review include "Islamist," "fundamentalist" and "jihad. [This is what the Bible means when it says "woe to those who call evil good and good, evil...Atlas]

This first-of-its-kind effort to separate terrorism from its perceived roots is laudable. Associating the criminal enterprise of terrorism with the faith of 1.4 billion Muslims, 99.99 percent of whom will never come near any act of terrorism, much less use Islam as a justification for their crimes, is just plain wrong. [Where are they? Why don't they scream out against it? Where is this global movement? - Atlas]

Unfortunately, all too often "Islam" and "terrorism" are juxtaposed in news reports and editorials. A word search on news stories published in major newspapers over the past decade shows that reporters are hundred of times more likely to associate Islam with terrorism or militancy than all other faiths combined.
