Adams and Jefferson began to actually like each other. Really. Many of the books I have say so. After all was done and in place with the new Declaration, they were constantly communicating their ideas and thoughts of what took place, why and how. I’d have loved to have met them both.

Five signers were captured by the British and charged as traitors...... Four during military operations (Arthur Middleton, Edward Rutledge, Thomas Heyward and George Walton) and the fifth (Richard Stockton) solely because of signing the document. No evidence exists of any of them being tortured to death.

Richard Stockton also violated his signing for independence by securing his release through signing a new oath of allegiance to King George of England. That's a real definition of a traitor on all sides.

John Witherspoon lost his son serving in the Revolutionary Army, Abraham Clark had two sons taken prisoner.

Button Gwinnett died from a duel..... as in “pistols at 10 paces”. He was a serving officer and another officer fought him - reasons unclear/unverified as to the actual cause of the duel, or which of the two was the challenger.

Carter Braxton of Virginia, inherited his fortune and businesses from family and associates, made it bigger, lost it, made it again, lost it again and so on. He did not die a pauper.

As happened with many homes, farms and businesses throughout the colonies, vandals and/or soldiers looted the properties of Ellery, Hall, Clymer, Walton, Gwinnett, Heyward, Rutledge, and Middleton. As far as any documentation exists, they were not specifically targeted.

Contrary to popular beliefs, Thomas Nelson's house was not destroyed supposedly under his own call for fire…. The place still stands in Yorktown VA..... I know..... I’ve been there (on an “I’ll find stuff myself” history tour).

Shortly after the Declaration was signed, Francis Lewis of New York had his home and properties raided by The British. His wife was arrested after her and many others refused the order to evacuate the area where they lived.

John Hart’s farm was raided and he had to remain incognito for a little over a year. He then served two terms in the Continental Congress.

Lewis Morris’s farm was seized and taken over by The British. After the war, his land was returned.

Phillip Livingston had property seized and he sold off others in order to keep freedom alive for as many people as possible. He died in 1778.

Despite the cynics, tens of thousands took to the streets today. This is too key an issue, critical and historic, for the West to take such a passive position. It is an opportunity we have never seen the likes of. Squandering it is foolish and suicidal, and plays into the hand of the mullahs. Everyone is so anxious to  bash it, scorn it and write the post mortem.  Why?

And please spare me the lectures on Mousavi. I know who he is and what he is and  said so first at Atlas on June 12th and 14th, and again in the American Thinker on the 17th. Things have changed, and perhaps so has the man.

It's not about Mousavi.

IRAN: The Silence of the Media

I have a piece today in the Canada Free Press on the perfidy of the media in their lack of coverage of the Iranian revolution. This historic event has cataclysmic implications for the course of human events; instead, the media obsesses over the cocktail of drugs has-been Michael Jackson was using to assuage the pain of his oh so tragic life. Ugh.

Excerpt:

Despite Obama’s passivity, Iran and its henchmen are blaming America for the uprising. Hezbollah’s deputy leader, Sheikh Naim Qassem, said Thursday: “The extent of Western and American involvement in Iran’s internal affairs is now clear. What is going on in Iran is not a simple protest against the results of the presidential election. There are riots and attacks in the streets that are orchestrated from the outside in a bid to destabilise the country’s Islamic regime.”

As that regime strikes back hard, I do not believe the movement has been quelled, but I do believe it has been silenced. And this is partly due to the failure of the Western media. The mainstream media fearlessly took on Bush, Rumsfeld, Cheney. They were so tough on those who didn’t share their ideological views. They had no fear of those they ridiculed, marginalized, tongue lashed mercilessly. Who can forget how they climbed all over each other to get embedded into Iraq so that they could make America look terrible?

But when it came to really doing their job, they have been absent on Iran. Why weren’t they clamoring to get into Iran to cover an historic, cataclysmic event? CNN has been the only news network to cover Iran in any depth. FOX has been negligent in its lack of coverage. Left leaning sites on the Internet have been leading the way – notably the Huffington Post, whose reporter Nico Pitney has been almost a singular voice in speaking up for the Iranian protesters. And blogs like Revolutionary Road and Get Honest Third Eye deserve commendation for doing the job the mainstream media has not been doing. Get Honest Third Eye had the first video that showed an Iranian being shot on camera by government officials. The shooting occurs while the person filming is quite far away, but the video then shows closer images of his body.

It is indelible images like those that reveal the full horror of what has been going on in Iran. But now, Iran’s citizen journalists have gone dark. The tweets are not coming in. “New” twitters, pro-Ahmadinejad (twitters with ironic names like “antifascista”) have been tweeting vile propaganda. The media can talk about Michael Jackson all day, with no news coming out of Iran to distract them.

The only losers are those who are yearning to be free.

FP: You’ve been following the trial of the torture and murder of a young Jewish man, Ilan Halimi, in >. Tell us about the case and the trial./span>

Geller: The death of Ilan Halimi can only be described as an unspeakable horror, and yet typical of the increasing Islamic Jew-hatred and violence against the Jews. A group calling itself the Muslim Barbarians targeted Jewish men for torture and murder. Their first attempts to kidnap a Jew were unsuccessful, despite the lure of a beautiful girl. Ilan Halimi was not so lucky. He did not escape the Islamic homemade concentration camp the Muslim Barbarians had set up.

The banality of evil lived in that apartment building. Apartment dwellers, all Muslims, heard Ilan's screams and cries of torture over a period of three weeks, and yet did not call the cops. The screams must have been loud because the torture was especially atrocious: the thugs cut bits of flesh off the young man. They cut his fingers and ears. They burned him with acid. They poured flammable liquid on him and set him on fire. Not only did those in the building not go to the police -- they did nothing at all. Worse, many took part in the tortures.

So systemic is the Jew hatred in France that it impeded rescuing Ilan or securing his release. Halimi's family said that throughout Ilan's entire captivity, the French police refused to move on any of the evidence that pointed to an anti-Semitic motive. Instead, the police conducted a routine kidnap investigation (which invariably involves ransom, not death). The police refused to pursue the anti-Semitic motivations of the kidnappers in spite of the fact that, according to newspaper accounts, "in their e-mail and telephone communications with Ilan's family, his captors repeatedly referred to his Judaism, and on at least one occasion recited verses from the Koran while Ilan was heard screaming in agony in the background".

The family begged the police to listen to torturous phone calls from the kidnappers and acknowledge that Ilan was abducted because he was Jewish. Clearly, had the police not acted in judeophobic fashion, they would have recognized that Ilan's life was in terrible danger and taken urgent action. But law enforcement was not the only guilty party. The government refused to acknowledge the anti-Semitic motives behind the torture and killing a full week after the Halimi turned up mutilated and dead.

This was not new, of course. In 2003, Sebastian Sellam, a popular disc jockey at a hot Parisian night club called Queen known as DJ Lam C (a reverse play on his surname) was on his way to work when in an underground parking lot, a Muslim neighbor slit Sellam’s throat twice. His face was completely mutilated with a carving fork. Even his eyes were gouged out.

It has taken three years to bring this case to trial and even now, they are hiding their dirty little secrets behind closed doors.

FP: How come this trial is not receiving any attention or coverage?

Geller: The French would like this ugly little business to go away. Like Al Dura. Like their sordid national behavior when the Nazis occupied France.

The latest outrage in the closed (more like hidden) trial of the "Muslim barbarian" ringleader Fofana and his 26 accomplices (it was more like 50) in the savage torture and murder of Ilan Halimi is suspension of the trial, with no indication of when it will begin again. Why isn't Youssouf Fofana, in a glass box like Eichmann at Nuremberg, chained like the wild animal that he is?

In a shocking display of proud Islamic Jew hatred (consistent with the most sacred teachings of the Koran), the brutal Halimi murder trial was suspended after the defendant spewed vile invectives and threw his "Arab shoes" across the courtroom at the jury. Throwing shoes at someone is a powerful insult in the Arab world.

According to a prosecution lawyer, Fofana's shoe throwing occurred during the presentation o f evidence by doctors who examined Halimi's body.

It is not clear when the hearing would be resumed. The trial is being conducted behind closed doors, with no press or public allowed, at the request of two of the defendants who were minors at the time of the killing. The trial is closed at the request of barbarians so evil, so savage that it defies the normal mind. And yet the vichy French acquiesced to the Muslim nazis and are hiding their pathetic attempt at justice behind closed doors.

The silence in the media and across the world is a crime against humanity. Imagine, if you will, the unthinkable, the impossible -- if Ilan had been a Muslim and his attackers had been Jews. Stop laughing -- I know it is impossible, but that's not my point. This is damning proof of the Jew hatred that is running wild across the world. Israel shuts a light off in Gaza and the world wants to eliminate her. Imagine if Ilan had been black and his attackers had been white. Stop and think about it.

FP: So let’s dig a bit deeper here: why did the police turn a blind eye to the evidence indicating that Islamic anti-Semitism was behind the kidnapping? Why is the French government, law enforcement and the media now covering up why this horrifying crime was committed? Better to let a Jew get tortured and killed than to point to the truth about what Islam teaches and what many Muslims believe and are ready to act upon, yes? This is Jew-Hate and a surrender to Islam simultaneously, yes?

Geller: Yes, exactly. This is a strain of anti-Semitism in Europe that has never been eradicated. There is never any discussion of Islamic anti-Semitism, and it is fundamental to Islamic teachings. This refusal to acknowledge the obvious gives tacit approval to incitement to violence. It is unsafe to walk about many European cities with any identifying Jewish apparel or accessories on. Is that what Europe learned from World War II? Is that the lesson that Europe took away from the holocaust?

The lesson that Europe had decided to avail itself of in the aftermath of Auschwitz was not that evil is bad and that they behaved like monsters, but rather that everything was caused by nationalism -- and therefore, what they really needed to do was have a European Union that would obviate their need for nationalism, so that they could become this transnational gobbletygook. They'd all get together and therefore they wouldn't have another Auschwitz.

But really the lesson should have been that they were evil and they had to be good. And that is the lesson they still have to learn. You have to be able and willing to make moral distinctions and stand up for the good and fight evil, and that is something the Europeans refuse to do.

UPDATE: How dangerously  insane is the left? Over at has-been Tina Brown's pale imitation of the Huff Po, The Daily Beast (Beastly indeed), they are twisting the Nazi Von Brunn's motives. The new leftopath narrative is not about this 89 year old Nazi shooting up the Holocaust museum in an attempt to kill Jews .... no. This was an attack on...... OBAMA! I kid you not.

James von Brunn was charged Thursday for the Holocaust Museum shooting, and new reports suggest his anti-Semitism was tied to theories about Obama that flourish on the Web. Why von Brunn’s network of online extremists are increasingly dangerous, and becoming violent.

Among other things, alleged Holocaust Museum killer James von Brunn is a “birther”—someone who subscribes to one of the many elaborate conspiracy theories regarding how Barack Obama is constitutionally ineligible to be president, because supposedly he isn’t a natural-born American citizen. Today police found a note in von Brunn’s car, reading in part, “The Holocaust is a lie. Obama was created by Jews.”

Media Hypocrisy and Willful Stupidity

The only thing that could replace the media's obsession with the murder of a late term abortion doc is a .........right wing Nazi (National Socialists are lefties, but why split hairs?). I was floored last night while watching an exchange between Ellis Henican (Newsday) and Bill O'Reilly discussing that lack of coverage for the jihadi who murdered a US soldier, wounded another and planned attacks of churches, Jewish centers and other targets.

Henican dismissed the Islamic attack on the Arkansas military station and murder of a US soldier as a random act of violence. Henican remonstrated with O'Reilly, asking, "What about the 9,000 other murders in the country? Why not discuss them as well?" [paraphrasing]. So the left narrative is that there is no war on the West, there is no jihad. Surrender. But the abortion doc, according to Henican, is enormously important, because there is a moral value. Henican's moral value? Not that the murdered doctor performed over 60,000 late term abortions of viable babies, but that he was murdered -- which is undeniably terrible and wrong. The criminal who shot Dr. Tiller had a prior record (as did the shooter of the Holocaust Museum security guard). Why did these nuts have guns? I do not believe in gun control, but I do believe that criminals should lose the privilege of gun ownership. That's the law, is it not? Why aren't we pursuing the failure of law enforcement on this issue? Why isn't the media even talking about that?

If anyone grabs the video clip of O'Reilly/Henican, please send it on.

But back to the media's Nazi party. This random killer, 89 year old Nazi Von Brunn, is vile, and I hope his gunshot wound kills him. But he does not represent a threat to the West, to our society -- he is a whackjob. The Nazis lost the war in World War II. This disconnect the left wing media is suffering is lethal for Americans, and particularly dangerous for non-believers (Christians, Jews, Hindus, Sikhs etc.).
The murder of Private Long is the news story that should be given 24/7 coverage. Abdulhakim  Muhammad, a soldier in the war for Allah, said he was justified. He said, "It wasn't murder, it was war". The same war that killed almost 3,000 Americans on 911. The same war that has committed 13,358 Islamic attacks since 911. The same enemy that vows to annihilate the Jews and destroy Israel. The same enemy that is taking over Europe. The enemy makes no secret of their hate, their intent, their ultimate objective.

Did the media give this woman any coverage? What if she was screaming in defense of Nazi Von Brunn's ideology?

I thought Atlas reader Audrey had a spot on observation, prompted by my remark, "How relieved everyone in the media was ... that the shooter was not a Muslim -- now they can talk about it, now they can spend all day on it and analyze every irrelevant factoid":

I don't know how I can continue as I am, to be surprised/shocked/appalled by the shameless hypocrisy. I'm listening to the circus at the Holocaust Museum. It's been going all morning and will continue for the rest of the day. Does my memory fail me, or have there been a number of extremely violent acts against Jews -- Seattle? etc. -- where the killer was a Muslim, and there was no such big show.

Maybe it's me -- but I see this phony fiesta as nothing to do with horror at this ugly murder and anti-semitism -- no one there gives a damn about that -- it ONLY has to do with the fact that it was a "Right wing Nazi."

The FBI said the killers face was in all newspapers and on TV and asked the public to call in if anyone has any information on him or any possible accomplices. Did they do the same when the killer was (how many times?) a violent Muslim?

Did I hear the FBI guy say that the FBI doesn't approve of violent hate crimes??? Huh? Did someone think they might?

So now they have more reasons to go after Jews -- (and tea partiers, and our military) -- in the name of Nazis.

Oh, Mr. Nazi Killer has served the Obama camp and the Islamist DHS very well.

Our new president did not tell a virulent anti-Semite to travel to the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington to kill Jews, but he is most certainly creating a climate of hate against us.

It is no coincidence that we are witnessing this level of hatred toward Jews as President Barack Obama positions America against the Jewish state.

Just days ago Obama traveled to Cairo, Egypt. It was his second trip in a short time to visit Muslim countries. He sent a clear message by not visiting Israel.

But this was code.

In Cairo, Obama said things that pose a grave danger to Jews in Israel, in America and everywhere.

And if his views are not vigorously opposed they will help create a danger as great as that posed by the Nazis to the Jewish people.

Just last week, Obama told his worldwide audience — more than 100 million people — that the killing of six million Jews during the Holocaust was the equivalent of Israel’s actions in dealing with the Palestinians.

This remark is incredible on its face, an insult to the six million Jews who died as a result of Hitler’s genocide — and it is a form of revisionism that will bode evil for Jews for years to come.

While Obama acknowledged that “six million Jews were killed — more than the entire Jewish population of Israel today” — his discussion about the Holocaust was followed by this statement: “On the other hand, it is also undeniable that the Palestinian people — Muslims and Christians — have suffered in pursuit of a homeland.”

“On the other hand . . . ”?

Obama’s clever construct comparing the mass genocide of six million Jews to the Palestinian struggle will not be lost on the estimated 100 million Muslims who tuned into to hear him.

Perhaps it was not lost on James W. von Brinn, the 88-year-old white supremacist identified as the alleged attacker Wednesday at the Holocaust Museum. He apparently felt that he could easily take retribution against the Jews for the atrocities Obama implies they are guilty of.

We should have seen all this coming. Obama deceitfully hid his Muslim background and schooling and his agenda. I started writing about Obama's religious Muslim background in January 2007, and throughout 2007 and 2008 I presented evidence of Obama's identification as a Muslim when he was a child, his extremist Muslim family and his Islamic schooling. In December 2007, I wrote, "Barack Obama went to a madrassa in Jakarta. A madrassa in a Muslim country. Whether he was devout or secular, he knows what was taught. He knows what is in the Quran. Even if he is ambiguous, he knows the stakes involved. His father was a Muslim who took three wives (without divorcing). His stepfather and close members of his family are devout Muslims. Not an unimportant influence." And who can forget Obama's bald-faced lies to the Jews? In February 2008, Obama told Jewish leaders: "If anyone is still puzzled about the facts, in fact I have never been a Muslim." Yet he was registered as a Muslim in an Indonesian school.

Nor was that all. Terrorists supported him. There were the phone banks in Gaza supporting his campaign. Tens of thousands of jihad dollars from a Hamas controlled refugee camp in Gaza filled his coffers. Mosques in the U.S. were preaching for Obama. Khalid Al Mansour, a racist Islamist very much in the mold of Louis Farrakhan and Obama's anti-Semitic, anti-American pastor, the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, sponsored Obama for Harvard. When Wright was exposed as a member of the hate group the Nation of Islam prior to his leadership of his Black Liberation church, the mainstream media yawned.

Americans rely on our media to vet our candidates. But the media morphed in 2008. Instead of investigative journalism, the American people were victims of activist propagandizing. Obama was never vetted. His lies were never exposed.

And so now we have our first Muslim presidency, just eight years after 9/11. The media can spin their subjugation and adulation a million different ways, but America did not vote for a "Muslim presidency," which is what this is. Everything this president has done so far has helped foster America's submission to Islam.

On these shari'a (i.e., Islamic law) concepts rest the Muslim contention that the United Nations' 1948 Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) is inadequate: The UDHR neither appoints Muslims guardians of humanity, nor restricts the rights of non-Muslims and women. Therefore, 56 Muslim nations in the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) consider the Universal Declaration of Human Rights obsolete and irrelevant. They want "an independent permanent body to promote human rights" among U.N. member states "in accordance with" the Cairo Declaration and its foundational shari'a legal code---denying all essential human rights to non-Muslims and women.

The OIC ultimately hopes to replace universal human rights with universal shari'a law, granting superiority to the Muslim ummah ("nation") while imposing dhimmitude, --- i.e., intense, institutionalized subservience, probably best described as human rights apartheid --- upon all others. Indeed, the Cairo Declaration of Human Rights in Islam (CDHRI), rooted in shari'a law and adopted in August 1990 at the 19^th Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers, like the Qur'an presupposes that mankind is already obliged to follow all commandments of Islamic law:

"[N]o one as a matter of principle has the right to suspend in whole or in part or violate or ignore [fundamental rights and universal freedoms for Muslims] in as much as they are binding divine commandments, which are contained in the Revealed Books of God and were sent through the last of His Prophets to complete the preceding divine messages thereby making their observance an act of worship and their neglect or violation an abominable sin, and accordingly every person is individually responsible ... for their safeguard. (emphasis added)

The OIC has been building pressure for years. In December 2005, Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal revealed his "Mecca Declaration" to a Jeddah "preparatory meeting of OIC ministers"---a 10-year "plan of action to confront the challenges of the 21^st century" to counter a "harsh offensive on Islam from enemies abroad and some of its own children with deviant ideologies." Turkish OIC secretary general Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu praised the plan as a "roadmap for Islamic common action."

Indeed, the OIC has always adulated tyranny and oppression, conforming to the classical Islamic ideology of Muslim Brotherhood founder Hassan al-Banna---and his contemporary Hajj Amin al-Husseini. Upon his 1929 appointment as Jerusalem mufti, al-Husseini circulated faked postcards of Al Aqsa mosque flying a "Zionist" flag atop the Temple Mount to inflame Muslim hatred and violence against Jerusalem's Jewish majority. [1] The Muslim Brotherhood mimicked this very "defense" of Islam by establishing the OIC after a lone lunatic man set fire to Al Aqsa in 1969. The MB in this way conveniently wall-papered its hope of eliminating the "Zionist occupation" --- that is, of entirely purging Jews and Judaism from the ancient Jewish capitol, just as Mohamed had purged Jews from Mecca and Arabia.

In March 1970, "pending the liberation of Jerusalem," the First Islamic Conference of Ministers of Foreign Affairs established its Jeddah General Secretariat. (No surprise that the OIC now wants to wrest sovereignty over the Temple Mount from Israel.) In 1973, the OIC planned to discriminate further by creating the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) "in accordance with the principles of the Shari'a."

For decades afterwards, longtime World Union of Progressive Judaism (WUPJ) representative, historian David G. Littman, warned of a concerted effort at the U.N. to supplant universal human rights with the shari'a-based discriminatory system of dhimmitude. He was correct.

In May 2007, 36^th Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers (ICFM) in Islamabad resolved to impose human rights apartheid through a new Islamic Charter on Human Rights, a Convention on Women's Rights in Islam and an Islamic Covenant Against Racial Discrimination. The ICFM also seeks U.N. "observer status" for various "interested non-governmental organizations (NGOs)," undoubtedly including many Islamic "charities." 

Naturally, Muslim leaders deny their discriminatory intentions. At the 6^th Session of the Human Rights Council on Dec. 10, 2007, for example, Pakistan Ambassador to the U.N. Masood Khan falsely contended on OIC behalf that its 56 Muslim member nations had "made substantial contributions to the development of the Universal Declaration and the two International Covenants," concerning matters of "religious freedom, social justice, the indivisibility of human rights and the right to self-determination."

Yet Islamic and African countries that regularly violate human rights dominate the HRC, which favors Islamic blasphemy laws making it a capital offense to quote Qur'anic passages or shari'a law, much less to criticize Mohammed in any forum at the U.N. This shari'a-based mindset takes Islam as inviolable---and all that that implies.

Thus in 2008 the Geneva office of the 47-member U.N. Human Rights Council---where historian Littman is an NGO---began implementing shari'a principles even as it made the very word verboten. On March 26, 2009, followed the 23-nation HRC "simple majority" passage of a Pakistani resolution to protect "against acts of hatred, discrimination, intimidation and coercion resulting from defamation of religions and incitement to religious hatred in general."

As Islamic scholar Ann Elizabeth Mayer notes in Islam and Human Rights: Tradition and Politics,

[N]o theory in international law ... supports the notion that fundamental human rights may be curtailed --- much less permanently curtailed --- by reference to the requirements of any particular religion. Under international law, non-Muslims cannot be legally deprived of their rights by the use of Islamic standards. There is also no warrant under international law for Muslims being deprived of their rights due to governmental application of restrictions taken from Islamic law." (Mayer, Westview Press, 2^nd edition, p. 64)

AAL: Does oppression of others under Islam vary or is it more or less universal?

Atlas: The oppression of non-believers exists in every Islamic country. Shari'a law is oppressive. All those terrible acts committed in the name of Islam---honor killings, clitorectomies, death for apostasy, death to hypocrites---all happen under shari'a law. This is not under in any way, shape or form compatible with Democratic law. There's no such thing as a little shari'a law. It's like being a little bit pregnant. Shari'a taints the law. You cannot introduce this bad blood into good law and end up with good law.

It is like the [1958 classic horror movie] "The Blob. The more the blob consumes, the bigger it gets, the more it eats, the more it morphs into something bigger and bigger. Society is then completely overwhelmed. And we see it in America. We see the introduction of shari'a in America. When workers in Greeley [Colorado] or Emporia [Kansas] insist on prayer time in the work place, this is a form of Islamic supremacism. So are foot baths in public places like airports or universities, or Muslim-only prayer rooms in universities. They are special rights for special classes. So are special prayer rights for a special class, in this case Muslims in public schools, that is, giving Muslims special prayer times or closing schools on Muslim holidays. Some places like Seattle, Washington have also introduced special swim time for Muslims in public pools, often paid by taxpayers' public, government funds.

In and of itself, it seems innocent. So, the boy needs to pray. It's no big deal. Give him a special place and time for prayer. But this is what Muslims do. It is part of the [Islamization] movement. This needs to be seen in the context of an overall assault on a society. Muslims who have left their countries to escape this oppression should be speaking out the loudest but they are not.

AAL: Aren't there are some ex-Muslims and a handful of Muslims speaking out about the assault on Western Democratic values?

Atlas: Wafa Sultan is the only American in decades whom threats have forced to live in hiding. She should be hidden in White House. The media's lack of coverage of her case is criminal. Hers should be a cause célèbre. Her situation is among the most damaging to freedom of speech.

AAL: What's the prognosis for positive change?

Atlas: If the hate crime laws pass under a very Islamic-sympathizing president, then voices and websites like mine will be shut down. It will be over. The line in the sand rests on freedom of speech. That is the basis of this country.

Even ugly speech. We see and saw this in "death to the Jews" rallies. We saw it the last generation, in 1970s Nazis rallies Skokie, Illinois. That is freedom of speech. The media demonizes the Tea Parties [protesting Obama's profligate spending.] This is not an Islamic issue. But it is part of the leftist Islamic issue. You see the demonizing of free speech. This is the most dangerous development. The demonization of Geert Wilders is very dangerous.

AAL: Don't you think that U.S. citizens are starting to yell "basta," enough? 

Atlas: The April headlines in the New Haven paper were the exception, not the rule. Tea Parties, nationwide, are more routinely painted as a sinister Republican movement, organized by right wing extremists and clowns. In New York, the media used that description even though an estimated 13,000 people attended the Tea Party there.

These people never went to a rally before. They feel the heat. They feel the hot breath of government on their necks. They feel a fascist reality taking hold. They see enslavement in their workplaces, and the encroaching government controls. People came who voted for Obama. They said they made a mistake. There were business owners. People spoke about the oppressive taxation and the nationalization of banks, auto companies, and the impending bailouts of media.

Once we have a bailout of media, it is over. Who will insult the leader, when he is signing the paycheck?

AAL: What are you talking about. Bailing out the media, the networks?

Atlas: Yes, there is talk of bailing out local newspapers, on the East and West coasts, bankrupt metropolitan newspapers, as well as MSNBC and NBC. Yes. There is talk of reclassifying newspapers as nonprofit organizations. There are all kinds of ways to skin a cat. One includes subsidies to go to the NBC parent company, General Electric, through Obama's much-touted "cap and trade," his purported energy renewal program. Obama does not call this nationalization. But we have an Orwellian president who never calls things by their real names. The government has banned the term "war on terror." He calls war a "contingent operation." The word "terrorism" has been replaced by "man made disaster." Obama has removed the enemy from all public discussions.

AAL: How is this related to Islamic oppression of non-Muslims.

Atlas: If you look at history, this is how Muslims have conducted Islamic jihad. And in the modern world, Orwellian language has entered the Islamic sphere, too. Obama does not want us to say the word "jihadi." These men are not conducting "jihad." They are suffering from "mental illness." So according to Obama, every jihadi is just mentally ill.

Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department has set all kinds of new immigration quotas from countries that are the worst state sponsors of terrorism. They are terrorist nations. The State Department does not call them that. But Pakistan, Afghanistan, Egypt are terrorist nations. And from these countries, the U.S. Is now importing the largest invasion of enemy combatants in the history of man. We are experiencing an invasion of a foreign enemy, of a very large proportion.

AAL: So, while freedom of speech is itself a huge issue, we are no longer discussing freedom of speech alone. We're talking about freedom, period. Just plain freedom.

Atlas: Yes. We are literally abdicating American sovereignty. The Obama administration, along with the Muslim globalists, paint everything as a global problem. And for global problems, there can only be global solutions. So we see the rise of a transnational movement, which advocates abdicating U.S. sovereignty to the U.N. And the U.N. is driven by the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC).  And they are, as you have reported before, the creation of the Muslim Brotherhood. OIC objectives are clear. It is a sinister machination. It is made up of 56 nations, plus "Palestine." They unwaveringly vote together as a single bloc. No one ever goes off the Islamic reservation. Their issue is Islamic supremacy. That is the definition of Islam. They impose Islam. They pass UN resolutions against "defamation of Islam." That is code for freedom of speech. They never discuss the defamation of Judaism or Jews or Christianity. That is the OIC currency. So yes, the worldwide global conspiracy, the fact of Islamic jihad is tied into all things. It is embedded in schools and universities. The Saudis give millions and millions of dollars to affect their curricula with mendacious teachings and textbooks, whose distribution they fund through various "non-profit" organizations, by overwhelming local communities and also in co-ordination with U.S. textbook companies themselves.

THE STRIKE!

The exploitation and enslavement of the producers by the looters and moochers will not go unanswered. I find more and more, in talking with people trying to manage the over taxation and overwhelming government regulation in their lives, that they are minimizing their exposure. The producers will go on strike. 

Every action Obama is taking will decrease revenues, not increase them. Free markets need to be free. This has been proven time and time again. As Obama's communist measures take effect and the economy sinks further into a financial abyss, expect the government to take even more dangerous measures. Jonathan Galt wrote:

The best practical legal way for America to go Galt has already begun and that is for privately owned businesses to downsize their operations and not make any new or very limited new capital investments. They would then cut back on expenses to try and maintain a profit and lower revenue levels. This would necessitate layoffs, which most small businesses can do without a problem because they are not unionized. This would reduce peoples income and that along with Hussein's new credit card law will further reduce consumer spending and further shrink the economy.

This will continue to raise the unemployment rate (I expect to see at least 10% - 12% or maybe even higher unemployment before then end of 2010) and the Republican Constitution party should be able to take power from the Socialist Democrats in Congress in 2010.

OT but related: Anybody else get a bill by the IRS or US treasury for previous years? I did. A pretty hefty sum bill for 2004. Outta the blue. Of course I gotta start digging to find those financial docs. But I was wondering if folks have been getting billed suddenly for previous years. Purely anecdoctal.

Much thanks to Tundra Tabloids for pointing out that Front Page magazine picked up the piece I wrote for Israel National News on the Jew hatred behind the silence of Ilan Halimi's unspeakable torture and murder by Muslim barbarians.

What is happening to the story concerning the murder of this defenseless Jew, is akin to the media's penchant for describing honor murders of hapless girls and women by their male relatives, as simply being the victims of "domestic violence".

Islam, pure Islam, is the reason behind these brutalities, and those who attempt to dismiss it as such (attention UPI analyst, TOBY ARCHER), only helps to cover up the real reasons why it occurs, and prolong the suffering of the helpless at the hands of an intolerant, misogynist and violent political/belief system. Pamela describes Ilan's uncle, Rafi Halimi, account of "the gang phoning the family on several occasions and made them listen to the recitation of verses from the Koran, while Ilan's tortured screams could be heard in the background."

Thank G-d Such Men Lived

"It is foolish and wrong to mourn the men who died. Rather we should thank God that such men lived." -- General George Patton

How much we owe to our soldiers, sailors, and airmen. We cannot do our work unless we know they are doing theirs. We do not have the freedom to live our lives, unless they are there risking their lives to protect that freedom.

In the sloppy terminology so typical of today, it is common to attribute the courage of our soldiers to "self-sacrifice." But this misses the enormous difference between our soldiers and the malevolent fanatics on the other side, who declare that they want to die because they "love death." American soldiers do not go into battle because they love death. They go into battle because they love freedom. They love the liberties we enjoy and the prosperous and benevolent society that these liberties make possible. And they realize that someone has to fight to defend all of this.

Our soldiers do not want to die, and they do not expect to die; they know they are far better trained and better armed than their adversaries. But they know that some of them will die, and they believe that freedom is worth that risk. Here is how the family of Petty Officer 1st Class Neil Roberts, the first American soldier to die in Operation Anaconda, expressed it: "He made the ultimate sacrifice to ensure that everyone who calls himself or herself an American truly has all the privileges of living in the greatest country in the world." I know America kicks back, fires up the cue, bangs down the beer and feels good about America. But my heart is always heavy this day. I think of those men and women who laid down their lives for an idea, a principle, a love of freedom and the concept of the individual. I owe them my life.

UPDATE: Obama salutes veterans this Memorial Day weekend (uh, it's Memorial day, not Veterans Day, you maroon).

Obama said. "And yet, all too often in recent years and decades, we, as a nation, have failed to live up to that responsibility. We have failed to give them the support they need or pay them the respect they deserve.

How many times can you say we failed in as many sentences?

Eight years after war was declared on the US and the most heinous attack on the USA was launched on American soil, the war has been won (according to President Barack Hussein). Done. Over. Does not exist. No need to call it the war on terror, so says Obama. Now it is merely an "overseas contingency operation".  How wonderful.

Frankly, it appears to me that the Department of Homeland Security ought to be dismantled. It was established to fight Islam's war on the USA. According to the Obama administration, this is no longer a threat, so why not shut it down and save taxpayers an enormous amount of money?

If we are closing Gitmo, and these killers no longer pose a threat to our national security, why stop there?  Just yesterday, Obama halted the program in New York to detect biological attacks. Further deep cost cutting measures should be taken at once. Dismantle the bloated TSA. Little old ladies need not be harassed and harangued at airports anymore. Americans will not have to spend untold hours on line having their moisturizers and lotions and cosmetics confiscated to the coffers of lucky TSA employees (ah, how many bottles of Eau de Italia have I surrendered).

But most importantly, let's give President George W. Bush his due. He won the war, eh? Who could forget the terror that was struck in the hearts of every American on 911? Abject terror. The horror. As a New Yorker, I will never forget the stench of molten steel, plastic, paper and human flesh that hung in the air over Manhattan for months, and the spontaneous memorials that popped up on corners in and around New York.

Well, pigs must be flying in this ice storm ...........The NY Times has cited me in their opinionator column: Obama talks to the Arabs (thanks to Ed Lasky for the heads up)

Barack Obama sat for his formal formal interview as president with Al Arabiya, an Arabic-language news channel based in Dubai (read The Times’ report and see clips from the interview), and online the response has been swift.

For some on the right, the only comment necessary was short and to the point: At the American Spectator, Quin Hillyer’s brief post was titled “This . . . Blows . . . My . . . Mind.” And at Atlas Shruggs[sic], Pamela Geller’s one-sentence post invoked the book of Matthew: “By his fruits we shall know him, and so we know the plant.”

Justin Webb, who blogs for the BBC from Washington, DC, thought the interview might cause some reconsiderations in Tehran:

WE NEED NEW JEWISH LEADERSHIP IN THE DIASPORA

Our Jewish leadership has failed us miserably. One only has to look at the lack of response to Israel's latest defensive to see we are lost. We have failed the Jewish youth who haven't a clue as to who we are and why we must fight for our survival. I attend these rallies - the Muslim youth come out in full jihad drag. It is an event, a destination - theater. Jewish youth is conspicuously absent. Why wasn't Hoelien in front of the curve on this? Why wasn't he helping to organize counter protests against the onslaught of Jewish genocide rallies? Why didn't he rally the Jewish day schools, Hebrew schools, synagogues, Christian zionists, Pastor Hagee, friends of Israel  to come together and march against this scourge?

Instead he'll put together a conference call to spout Olmerde defeatist policy positions. That is not what the Jewish diaspora should be doing. We should be fiercely defending our RIGHT TO FIGHT FOR OUR SURVIVAL.

WE NEED PROUD, UNAPOLOGETIC, VIGOROUS JEWS TO LEAD OUR PEOPLE NOW. Mr. Hoelein, please step aside for the sake of the Jews.

I call on Malcolm Hoenlein to resign. He must see what a disaster his legacy is. It is irrelevant to me if his heart was in the right place; he failed badly. His cowardice and ineffective leadership has hurt the Jewish people. Remember the Palin fiasco back in September?  Hoelein was bulied into canceling Sarah Palin, a  great American and friend to Israel at an anti-Ahmadinejad rally. "Leaders" like Hoenlein will/can never get anything meaningful accomplished. His time is over.

Back in June of 2006, I did a post on Jewish Survival, a terrible question. I was right then, and I am right now.

Israel  faces existential threats. Iranian nuclear weaponization is either here or  imminent. We need real leadership and that is why Malcolm Hoenlein must go. He is old and tired and gutless. As executive vice chairman of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations since June 1986, Hoenlein has demonstrated he is not capable of leading the Jewish people as the world prepares for a second holocaust. Left wing politics of yesterday cause irreparable harm.

Malcolm consistently defers to the increasingly hostile to Israel and the Jewish left. When it comes to Jewish survival, the left is irrelevant: RASMUSSEN POLL:MOST DEMOCRATS OPPOSE ISRAELI DEFENSE, 62% OF REPUBLICANS SUPPORT ISRAEL

New York, January 4, 2008 -- The Jewish Action Alliance is calling on the leaders of all American Jewish organizations, and particularly Malcolm Hoenlein and the constituent groups of the Conference of Presidents of Major American Jewish Organizations, not to delay further in working together to call a major demonstration in support of Israel.

"As pro-Hamas and pro-jihadist activists organize hateful anti-Semitic rallies here in America and around the globe, it is incumbent upon Jewish leadership to stand together powerfully in solidarity with Israel in her defensive war against Palestinian Arab terrorism and Islamist threats calling for Israel's destruction," stated Action Alliance president Beth Gilinsky yesterday.

"Further, Jewish leaders must immediately and vigorously address the disturbing new phenomenon of Muslim Americans and their supporters using the public streets of America to threaten rape, torture and long-suffering death to Jewish bystanders, something never before seen in the history of America.  Where are the "Never Again!" Jewish leaders when dangerous circumstances demand their action?"

Gilinsky notes the following report posted this week by journalist Phyllis Chesler:.

"The war against Israel has gone global, not at the United Nations, (that’s old and terrible trouble), but at a new, grassroots level. The goon squad demonstrations against Israel that are taking place on every continent are not composed of peaceful demonstrators. The hate-Israel and hate-America protesters are essentially attackers on the march who are spoiling for a hot verbal and even hotter physical confrontation with their opponents. They mean to empty the streets of anyone with views that differ from their own.

"Now...grassroots “attack” groups, organized by mosques, Muslim student and civil rights groups and by their left-wing allies, are on the march. They curse, they scream, their faces are contorted by rage, they make hand gestures which approximate “shooting” and “throat cutting.” ...

"And without shame, and with great pleasure, the protestors call Jews: pigs, apes, donkeys, vermin, and faggots. They hurl curses at their far more sedate opponents. They threaten to rape their opponent’s mothers and visit a slow and painful death upon their opponents’ wives and children. They shoot their arms out in a “Seig Heil” Hitler salute. “Nuke Israel” screamed one young woman in hijab, over and over again in Ft. Lauderdale. “F–k you Jew” was also a favorite chant."

NY Nights: Cocktails, Music and Antisemitism

There is a monthly gig that a New York writer/editor hosts at an Upper East Side cigar bar/jazz lounge that I like very much. I can't get there every month- the batcave is too compelling.  But when I can, I do. The mix of media folks is on the "right side" of politics and there are regulars and a revolving door of newbies. It is generally a small, literate crowd.

I hadn't attended in awhile and I needed to get out of the world of non-stop bad news so I threw on a little dress, my thigh high boots,  lipstick and went.
I  got there late and the only seat open at the long table was opposite an erudite, three piece suited, very well coiffed "Palestinian" man. Very well turned out.
Apparently I was supposed to debate him a couple of months ago but had a legal matter to attend to and could not get back to the city in time. 

Anyway, as  soon as I sat down he went right for the jugular, "you're not a zionist right?"  and started in on "his grandfather's land" in "Palestine"  and how he has the deed (his family still lives there mind you, untroubled),  but the parcel the extends into the green line is Israel's.  I want my land, I want my land.  He says he's an atheist and condemns religion. I said, "deed", the Jews have a deed that is almost 6,000 years old. He said, incredulously,  you believe the bible?  It is a worthless piece of crap, he says. I said, atheist or not, it is an historical document validated by archaeological finds. He dismissed this out of hand and went back to 1948. I said, why start history there? The Jews fought for independence and won. You are railing about land, why don't you rail about 950,000 Jews expelled from Arab lands? They are not able to live there like your family does in Israel. He is talking over me now, addressing none of my points only complaining about his "grandfather's house". He said, we should "all live in peace together, Muslims, Jews, Christians". I said, the Muslims will not live with the Jews in peace. I asked why the first paragraph of the Hamas charter called for destruction of Israel. He said, who cares about Hamas. Hamas doesn't matter. I said, the Palestinians elected them.

I said, stop the bullshit already and let the Jews live in peace. Get on with your life.

I said, what happened in Gaza, you got your land in Gaza. He shot back dismissively, "Gaza doesn't matter". I sai,d "Gaza doesn't matter?" "You have land, Israel is outta there -- do something". He said, Gaza is not a state,  "Gaza is a prison". He  accused my argument of trickery and deception (the very thing he was guilty of). I said, why won't the Palestinians do something -- they were the brightest of the Arab world. He said, they were the brightest  because they are stateless. He said, the Palestinians are like the stateless Jews before Israel was established. I said, I, at no time, can recall the Jews behaving like barbarians.

I said, what do you want? Israel is tiny -- 9 miles wide at its narrowest. Surrounded by 23 Arab enormous Arab countries. Leave the Jews alone already. He said, he didn't believe in a religious states. I said, what about the 57 Islamic countries. What about the OIC? The OIC? I said, yes the Organization of Islamic countries. He said, oh please, they do nothing. They meet once a year. Meaningless. I said, meaningless? They have taken over the UN. They have introduced into the UN  the Cairo Declaration of Human Rights in Islam -- a declaration of the member states of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference, which provides an overview on the Islamic perspective on human rights, and affirms Islamic Shari'ah as its sole source. The  declaration is Islam's answer to the post-World War II United Nations’ Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) of 1948. I said, the OIC set  off the Danish cartoon jihad .... he waved his hand. Pshaw.

He said, you don't believe in G-d, do you? I said, of course I do.

He was railing against the "Zionists" and again almost tauntingly repeated, you are not a zionist are you? Like it was a pox. I said, of course I am  Zionist  -- any decent human being is.

Back and forth. Uglier and uglier until he said, "the zionists are the problem". I said, spoken like a Nazi. He went off. I said, Zionist is a bullshit word for Jew and the Nazis said the same thing that the Zionists are the problem is saying the Jews are the problem. He screamed TAKE THAT BACK. I said, no -- it is a Nazi statement.

He said,  I will not talk to you anymore until you take that back. Very hostile, very nasty, but he wasn't crazy. His is the accepted argument against the Jews.  He represents the worldview. This is the dialogue, the standard.

The Jews are in such trouble and they have no clue. No clue. The German Jews had no clue either.

Needless to say, the rest of the evening was most unpleasant and I did not prolong my stay at the "party". Distressing and disgusting, all of it.

The Jewish mother murdered in the brutal Mumbai terror attacks last week was six month pregnant, her father revealed today at her funeral.

And Rivkah Holtzberg's two-year-old son, Moshe, may have been beaten by the militants, reports have claimed.

His back was covered in bruises consistent with abuse, the chairman of Zaka, Israel's ultraorthodox recovery service, told Sky News.

The Holtzbergs' bodies - hers wrapped in a shroud, his in a prayer shawl - rested on chairs on the dais where the eulogies and prayers were delivered.

There are already fears that Moshe witnessed his parents' murder after he was found by his nanny crying next to their bodies, covered in blood.

She dashed him to safety before commandos launched an attack on the Jewish house in which the terrorists were holding the family hostage last week.

In an emotional scene before the flight to Israel yesterday, Moshe repeatedly cried for his mother at a tearful memorial ceremony at a Mumbai synagogue. The scene was broadcast repeatedly on Israeli TV stations.

'You don't have a mother who will hug you and kiss you,' Rabbi Kotlarsky cried out during a eulogy that switched back and forth between Hebrew and English. But the community will take care of the boy, he vowed: 'You are the child of all of Israel.'

GIVING THANKS THIS DAY

I feel genuinely blessed this day. This is a favored holiday of mine (right up there with Independence day). Thanksgiving  is a completely American holiday, non-denominational and authentically American (we love that) - a nationwide day of gratitude. This is a superb day to give thanks to you, my dear and loyal readers who always step up to the plate and do the right thing and  to those fine young Americans in the military fighting for what's good and right.

Thank you dear, sweet friends for all of your support this past crazy and upside year. I walk with you every step. We will defeat the bastards! This I promise you.

In past years I've written on this day that I'm thankful that there haven't been more jihad terror attacks on U.S. soil. I am thankful for that this year also, but this year's Thanksgiving comes in the shadow of the jihad attacks in Mumbai -- and we must not forget that their defense is our defense, their murders threaten us, they are facing the same jihad that we continue to face, although most Americans don't know it.

This is from an Atlas reader, Dave in Texas, and I thought his observations too important not to share. I stand shoulder to shoulder with Dave and every man, woman and child who believes in taking a stand to save this great country and  our precious freedoms. It is the individual that will restore this nation to its origins.

Here it is unedited:

I'm one of those Christian guys who is aware of the importance of Israel, not just in the sense of biblical prophecy, which I sort of take with a grain of salt because it's so deliberately vague (He doesn't want us to know TOO much, ya know? :-) but because Israel is a great moral test for the whole world.  Anybody with a functioning conscience can see that.  And as usual, the creepy and disgusting world is failing such a test.

Aside from the USA, Israel is the only nation I know that is founded on people accepting God and being aware of His special providence and trying to live up to Him.  (as opposed to Islamic countries which claim this but their practice disproves their claim.)  And as far as it goes here in the States, of course, it's just words on paper now, and some are trying to destroy the paper, even... 

And I was a big fan of Johnson until he started trashing you for no good reason.  He proves my thesis that a libertarian is not really someone in search of a morally better world, only a freer one.  It is not possible to ignore morality or dismiss it as 'not my province' and so forth... everyone faces moral tests every day, large and small, and Johnson fails his in this Texan's judgment.

When he does his blowhard act about the Euro 'fascists', it shows only that he isn't fully aware of the importance of the Jewish 'canary in a coal mine' metaphor, or the fact that you cannot defend European democracy on its own merits because it HAS none.   :-) 

I'll NEVER understand how he can be so against Islamic creep yet so opposed to what seems like EVERYONE who is trying to stop it over there.  He's such a big "guilt by association" guy, but I don't believe 90% of the stuff about the 'associates', because it largely comes from the MEDIA.  He should know better.

I lived in Brussels for several years recently and can testify in person to the creeping...  downtown is a big tourist area but now you don't go there at night.  The center of Brussels is one giant Moroccan neighbourhood.  Crescent and star flags hanging out of every balcony, no white people visible, that sort of thing.  I'm told there are more than a hundred thousand Moroccans in a small area next to downtown.  that's a tenth of the city population COUNTING THE SUBURBS.

I lived in Woluwe St. Lambert, a southeast suburb that was entirely French.  Lucky for me I learned French in school...  :-)  but if you want to talk about racism and cultural snobbishness, just spend a few minutes talking to a native Vlamand and a native Wallonian...  the antipathy between French and Dutch is about to tear that country apart.

Next time you go, take a side trip into the city for dinner, near the Grand Place.... but be sure to wear a burka. 

The alternative is a car ride through those neighbourhoods in the daytime to see all the festive Islamic colors.  :-)

Pamela, I'm just an ordinary Texas guy, not rich, not special, not anyone to take notice of for any reason in particular...   but my eyes are open and my mind does not rest and my conscience is always looking for the true and the Godly, and let me say from this faraway city of Irving, Texas, that I see these things in you and that I cannot help but marvel at how you are...  :-))

Obama's Foreign Donors: The media averts its eyes

I have been researching, documenting and studying thousands upon thousands of Obama's campaign donations for the past month. Egregious abuse was immediately evident and I published the results of my ongoing investigation. Each subsequent post built a more damning case against Obama's illegal contribution activity.

The media took little notice of what I was substantiating. I went so far as to upload the documents so that anyone could do their own research.  I asked readers to download the documents and a number of folks pitched in.

Despite dropping the groundbreaking bombshell  story of "Palestinian" brothers from the Rafah refugee camp in Gaza who donated $33,000 to Obama's campaign, no big media picked up the story. Jihadis donating to Obama from Gaza? Could there be a bigger story?  Foreign donations are illegal, but this story was all  that and so much more. The "Palestinian" brothers were proud and vocal of their "love" for Obama. Their vocal support on behalf of "Palestinians"  spoke volumes to Obama's campaign.

And yet still no media.

But Obama pricked up his ears. He smelled trouble and while no media asked, he answered anyway. Sen. Obama's campaign immediately scrambled and contended they had returned the  $33,500 in illegal contributions from Palestinians in Hamas-controlled Gaza, despite the fact that records do not show that it was returned and the brothers said they have not received any money. Having gone through all of Obama's refunds redesignations etc, no refund was made to Osama, Hossam, or Edwan Monir in the Rafah refugee camp. And still no media. 

One of the Gazan brothers, Monir Edwan (identified here),  claimed he bought "Obama for President" T-shirts off Obama's website  and then sold the T-shirts in Gaza for a profit. All purchases on the Barack Obama website are considered contributions.

The Palestinians allegedly claimed "they were American citizens", so said Obama's people. They listed their address -- zip code 972 (ironically the area code for Israel) and they input "GA"the state abbreviation for Georgia (screen shot here) They actually lived in a Hamas controlled refugee camp.  So if Obama's people thought it was "Georgia" why did they ship the tee shirts to the correct address in Gaza?  Shipping overseas to a Gaza refugee camp is vastly different than the state next door.

Still no media. 

"Some young men even bought the T-shirts for 60 shekel ($17.29), which is a lot to spend in Gaza on a T-shirt, but that is how much Gazans like Obama," Edwan claimed in a follow up article in the conservative websiet WorldNetDaily.  And Hamas has publicly endorsed Obama.

And still no media.

Obama's campaign said the  Palestinian brothers in the Middle East made $33,000 in illegal donations to the campaign via the internet.

The donations came in between Sept. 20 and Dec. 6 and virtually all of the money, about $33,500, was returned by December 6. But the refunds weren't reported to the Federal Election Commission due to a technical error, campaign officials said.

If McCain had been involved with something so dark and nefarious, taking money from Islamic jihad, his candidacy would never withstand the media blowback.

But it was the son of hope, the agent of change, the one we have been waiting for , so the media yawned.

The jihad donations were hardly the only bloody red flags.  The first in my series of posts ran July 19th. The documents were so unwieldy, readers like John, Doc, and Cathy (who discovered Rafah) were working furiously to cross check our findings at the FEC site and then mine the data.

Obama's overseas (foreign) contributors are making multiple small donations, ostensibly in their own names, over a period of a few days, some under maximum donation allowances, but others are aggregating in excess of the maximums when all added up.   The countries and major cities from which contributions have been received France, Virgin Islands, Planegg, Vienna, Hague, Madrid, London, AE, IR, Geneva,Tokyo, Bangkok, Turin, Paris, Munich, Madrid, Roma, Zurich, Netherlands, Moscow, Ireland, Milan, Singapore, Bejing, Switzerland, Toronto, Vancouver, La Creche, Pak Chong, Dublin, Panama, Krabi, Berlin, Geneva, Buenos Aires, Prague, Nagoya, Budapest, Barcelona, Sweden, Taipei, Hong Kong, Rio de Janeiro, Sydney, Zurich, Ragusa, Amsterdam, Hamburg, Uganda, Mumbia, Nagoya, Tunis, Zacatecas, St, Croix, Mississauga, Laval, Nadi, Behchoko, Ragusa, DUBIA, Lima, Copenhagen, Quaama, Jeddah, Kabul, Cairo, Nassau(not the county on Long Island,lol), Luxembourg (Auchi's stomping grounds), etc,etc,etc,

Half a million dollars had been donated from overseas  by unidentified people  "not employed".

Digging deeper, all sorts of very bizarre activity jumped at us. Dr and JJ continued to break it down and pull data from various sources. We found  Rebecca Kurth contributed $3,137.38 to the Obama Campaign in 112 donations, including 34 separate donations recorded in one day, 

How about this gibberish donor on the 30th of April in 2008.

or the donor Doodad, The # of transactions = 1,044

The $ contributed = $10,780.00

The more questions we answered the more questions we discovered.

Thousands of  Obama's foreign donations ended in cents. The  "cents" did not make sense. And we compared McCain donation documentss  to Obama's. McCain's records are nothing like Obama's. McCain's are so clean. No cents, all even dollar amounts.  But Obama's contained thousands of strange, odd amounts -- evidence of foreign contributors, since Americans living overseas would almost uniformly be able to contribute dollars. Still no media.

Julia Gorin told me a funny story two months ago. Her husband's co-worker wanted to see what would happen if he tried giving a contribution to the Obama campaign via a credit card. He used his Macy's card. The system accepted it. He tried the same with McCain's campaign, and the transaction wouldn't go through.  Now, obviously, down the line, the Obama transaction would fail as well, but it goes to the point that there is no safety system in place -- it'll just accept any and all money, which helps explain how his campaign raised so much more money than everyone else's.

Despite the evidence of dirty campaign donations, crickets chirped in newsrooms across the country. The moment my Gaza story started to get some chatter on talk radio, the left and their supplicant handmaidens in the media sprang into action and created a McCain illegal campaign contribution "scandal".   The Washington Post published an inaccurate allegation  and then retracted not a day later, at the risk of looking stupid. They are jeopardizing the little credibility that they have left.

....a Washington Post story detailing some suspicious looking contributions to the McCain campaign bundled by Harry Sargeant III. Shortly after posting, a correction appeared in the original report, as follows:

An earlier version of this story about campaign donations that Florida businessman Harry Sargeant III raised for Sen. John McCain, former New York Mayor Rudolph Giuliani and Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton incorrectly identified three individuals as being among the donors Sargeant solicited on behalf of McCain. Those donors -- Rite Aid manager Ibrahim Marabeh, and lounge owners Nadia and Shawn Abdalla -- wrote checks to Giuliani and Clinton, not McCain. Also, the first name of Faisal Abdullah, a McCain donor, was misspelled in some versions of the story (noted by Amanda Carpenter).

So here an intrepid blogger finds a keg of dynamite of dirty dollar donations to Obama and what does the media do? They ignore it. And when forced to confront it by the sheer newsworthiness of the story, what happens? They go after McCain. They punish McCain.

And that is meant to be a lesson to all of us,  Whatever you find, whatever you discover about the Candidate of Mystery, they will blow it back in your face. And they did. Almost immediately.

The irony and the upshot of all this. John McCain is reviewing contributions. Ain't that a kick in the head. I can tell him he needn't bother. Been there, done that. Nothing to see, keep moving.

Obama's out there raising millions, some in illegal donations and the Washington Post jumps on McCain for a  $50k, which hasn't been shown to be illegal, but merely "inappropriate." The left and their handmaidens, the mani stream media, were so quick to deflect this hit, it seems we have hit a raw nerve. I intend to keep digging. Stay tuned.,

WASHINGTON (AP) - Republican presidential hopeful John McCain won a round against Democrats on Thursday when the Federal Election Commission rejected their contention that he violated campaign finance laws during the GOP primary.

The FEC's draft opinion affirms McCain's right to bypass the public financing system and the strict spending limits that come with it. That was a rejection of the Democratic National Committee's complaint asserting that McCain's campaign had wrongly received loans based on his participation in public financing before later withdrawing from that system. CONTD...

I am honored and humbled by an email  the esteemed Professor Barry Rubin  sent out to colleagues subject line, Thanks to Pamela Geller, Indomitable Herself".

Apparently he liked our oped (yeah baby)...... The fight for Israel is the fight for the individual, the free man. As goes Israel, so goes the rest of the civilized world (just look at Lebanon now).

A huge amount has been written on Israel’s 60th birthday. But one of the best and most moving articles is the one by Pamela Geller and Eliza Saxon, “Indomitable Israel at 60,” published here. One important element is that it accurately expresses not only the achievements but also the confidence and positive feelings of Israelis on this terrific occasion. I have read many articles in the mainstream media—the most respected newspapers—which have nothing to do with the country where I live. I fantasize sitting down a cross section panel of Israelis to read these pieces and watch the look of amazement on their faces as they then start either laughing or cursing at the nonsense being written.             In contrast, consider one paragraph of the Geller-Saxon piece which—if nothing else was written at all on the subject—would stand as the best description:

“Israel in 2008 looks little like the tiny agricultural nation that declared its independence 60 years ago. Modern Israel is a high tech superpower, leading the world in of medicine, biotech, computer science, environment, culture and art.  After two thousand years of exile, fresh from the ovens of Europe, with virtually nothing, they came to rebuild their lives as free Jews in their homeland.” While there are tremendous dangers, we should remember that the greatest victories have been on the basis of material successes:

In Israel's sixty years, the Jews thrived. Free to pursue their dreams, the Jews  flourished and their enemies seethed,  Jews prospered while their enemies plotted their annihilation. The end of the Third Reich was merely a hudna, a cessation of hostilities until the annihilationists could regroup, rearm, redeploy. But Israel succeeded and Islamic jihad failed in all but one thing. The enemies of the people of Israel succeeded in infecting the world politic with their vile Jew hatred. Worse still, "enlightened",  guilty,  secular Jews sidled up to the enemy and worked their evil inside Israel, the US and other Western nations.”

We should never for one moment forget that all that has been built and done by Israel—and things done by Jews elsewhere in the world—was achieved immediately following the era in which 85 percent of Jews in Europe were murdered and 90 percent of those in the Arabic-speaking Middle East fled or were expelled. And, it is very sad to say, often the battle was waged despite the opposition and even slanders from too many nominal Jews who, for a variety of reasons, have acted as enemies through conscious decision, ideology, ignorance, or foolishness.

Pamela has been tireless in her support of Israel and has broken many new stories as well. Let’s thank her for her good work at a time when we can all be happy about what is achieved while never forgetting—as she doesn’t—all those trying to sabotage not only our accomplishments but our very survival. Oh, and one other point. Let’s remember never to lose our basic confidence, which is richly realistic. Or in the article’s words:

“In the Hagaddah we read 'In every generation they rise up against us to destroy us, but the Holy One, Blessed is He, saves us from their hand.' We survived Pharaoh, Haman, the Inquisition, the pogroms, the Shoah and the continued attempt by our Arab enemies to annihilate us. Modern Israel is   high tech superpower, leading the world in of medicine,  biotech, computer science,  environment, culture and art.  After two thousand years of exile, fresh from the ovens of Europe, with virtually nothing, they came to rebuild their lives as free Jews in their homeland.

This week Israel celebrates her 60th Birthday and despite our enemies who wish to destroy her, as well as our very own self-hating Jewicidal tools, we as Jews are magnificent. We have much to  be proud of and to celebrate. In fact, let me dare to say, that the nations of the world should thank G-d for us. What we’ve given to the world over the past 60 years  in the  fields of science, medicine, technology, the arts, and academia is immeasurable, miraculous even. Sir Winston Churchill a great friend of the Jews and Zionism said, “Some people like Jews and some do not, but no thoughtful man can doubt the fact that they are beyond all question the most formidable and the most remarkable race which has ever appeared in the world.’ (Martin Gilbert, Churchill and the Jews)

In Israel's sixty years, the Jews thrived. Free to pursue their dreams, the Jews  flourished and their enemies seethed,  Jews prospered while their enemies plotted their annihilation. The end of the Third Reich was merely a hudna, a cessation of hostilities until the annihilationists could regroup, rearm, redeploy. But Israel  succeeded and Islamic jihad failed in all but one thing. The enemies of the people of Israel succeeded in infecting the world politic with their vile Jew hatred. Worse still, "enlightened",  guilty,  secular Jews sidled up to the enemy and worked their evil inside Israel, the US and other Western nations.

It galls me that the majority of the Jews I fight for are self destructive, suicidal even. Here in America (and the world over), Israel's real friends are on the right and yet over 80% of American Jews are Democrats. I don't get it.  The conventional wisdom on the left is  that Israel is an oppressor and her actions are worse than the world's most depraved and dangerous  regimes. Chomsky, Finkelstein, Soros .......... these men are killers.

Further, these woefully clueless Jews give aid and  comfort to the enemy.

There are two disturbing pieces in the past week on why Israel shouldn’t exist. One a venomous piece of anti-Semitic invective from Johann Hari in last Monday’s London Independent under the title Israel is suppressing a secret it must face. He writes, “I would love to be able to crash the birthday party with words of reassurance. Israel has given us great novelists like Amos Oz and A.B. Yehoshua, great film-makers like Joseph Cedar, great scientific research into Alzheimer's, and great dissident journalists like Amira Hass, Tom Segev and Gideon Levy to expose her own crimes. She has provided the one lonely spot in the Middle East where gay people are not hounded and hanged, and where women can approach equality .But I can't do it. Whenever I try to mouth these words, a remembered smell fills my nostrils. It is the smell of shit. Across the occupied West Bank, raw untreated sewage is pumped every day out of the Jewish settlements, along large metal pipes, straight onto Palestinian land. From there, it can enter the groundwater and the reservoirs, and become a poison”. This is nothing less than a modern blood libel, instead of Jews murdering gentile children to make matzah, we are poisoning the wells of the poor, terrorist Palestinians. It’s 2008, but it might as well be an article in the notorious German anti-Semitic newspaper Der Strumer in 1938! Well, Mr.Hari we shan’t require your attendance, thank you very much. In fact, since you’re so distressed and upset by our existence, here’s a suggestion for you, stop using your mobile phone, your computer, many medications, and a long list of other daily inventions from the hard labour and works of the Jews of the filthy State of Israel…

The other deeply disturbing article was written by Karin Laub for AP under the title, Palestinian plight is flip side of Israel's independence joy. Her piece is one continued sob story over the plight of the Palestinians and their life in refugee camps, once again it’s the big bad nasty Jews with their security wall, nightly raids against terrorists and oil blockade of the Gaza Strip. She writes, “As Israel celebrates its achievements - robust economy, democracy and army - Palestinians look back on a history of failures. "We were the losers over the years ... and we will keep losing," said Luay Shabaneh, head of the Palestinian Central Bureau of Statistics.

The refugees and their descendants number 4.5 million today, or nearly half the world's 9.3 million Palestinians. Few refugees can realistically expect to go home again, because Israelis fear being swamped by a mass repatriation.” There is no history of who started all the wars, why the Palestinians fled and their continued war against the Jewish democratic state since it’s inception and the continued, daily barrage of deadly rocket fire from the terrorist’s of Hamas in Gaza, (which Israel pulled out of in 2005 to her great detriment) upon the people of Sderot. This is a one sided piece of Arab propaganda, without an Israeli counterpoint or narrative. This isn’t journalism, it’s propaganda devoid of pros and cons or even the essential queries of basic journalism 101.

The fallacious term "Palestinian" was concocted by Yaser Arafat and while slow to take, it caught fire when the media worm turned ................ and there's been no going back. Israel bashing is Jew bashing,  the world's oldest profession Period. Anti-zionism, anti-Israel is antisemitism - a modern mask to an age old hate. Don't believe the Jew hater that tells you, I have no problem with Jews, it's Israel's policies that are abhorrent. David Mamet writes in The Wicked Son, 'The outright denunciation of Israel as "acquisitionist" bloodshirsty, colonial, et cetera" is to me simply a modern instance of the blood libel---that Jews delight in the blood of others.'  If anything, Israel has been too docile and too accommodating, to an enemy that vows to destroy her.

Dr. Martin Luther King did not suffer liars that declared that they don’t hate the Jews, just Zionism, Dr. King brilliantly dismantles such rhetoric.

So I say to Israel, stand loud and proud. Give up nothing. Turn over not a pebble. For every rocket fired, drop a MOAB. Take back Gaza. Secure Judea and Samaria. Stop buying Haaretz. Throw leftists bums out. Stand straight and walk on. Be worthy of your ancestors.

We survived Pharaoh, Haman, the Inquisition, the pogroms, the Shoah and the continued attempt by our Arab enemies to annihilate us. So I say to our enemies, we shall be proudly standing, long after you have disappeared, footnotes of history...

Atlas Update

In my OpEd piece "We are not Worthy" which ran in Israel National News and was excerpted in The Washington Times, one of the examples I cited  of disrespect to the Jews at Annapolis was the separate use of entrances for the Jews and the Arabs. Apparently this is not so. Glick explains in her latest column ;

It was these twin reports that informed my own decision to begin my Nov. 30 column "Apartheid not peace" with the story of the separation of Israeli representatives from Arab representatives at Annapolis. Happily, after my column was published, both the State Department and Israeli officials denied that the US had enforced the Arab demand for segregated entrances.

I too am happy to find this was reported erroneously by the AFP. But the point of my oped piece stands. But I would remove that example.
