It's back: the Saudi Islamic Academy that teaches jihad, grooms valedictorians cum presidential assassins, distributes hate textbooks etc., will have another hearing for their application to expand the school on state property. Bear in mind that two Christian schools were denied that same request. But it looks like the dhimmi board is going ahead. Make your voice heard.

How in bed is the county with ISA (Islamic Saudi Academy)? ISA Opponents filed a complaint with Attorney General over Fairfax County Dinner Invitation by the Islamic Group. The Fairfax County government distributed invitations to a free dinner to learn about the religion of "peace and harmony" -- Islam. There is collusion between the county government and the Islamists and they operate as one every time the ISA or related issues come up. The Saudis have purchased the Fairfax County government.

Next Monday is the final hearing on the radical Islamic Saudi Academy’s proposed expansion here in Fairfax County, Virginia. We do not have a single vote right now and one Supervisor, Pat Herrity who self-identifies as a “conservative”, is bobbing and weaving like you wouldn’t believe.

The last hearing brought a huge wave of new support to our campaign to shut down the “academy” and unmask the undiluted Shariah which is being practiced and taught there.

The Fairfax County government has dropped even the appearance of being impartial in this “land use” dispute. The government’s official community outreach office sent out an invitation to a free dinner to learn about the real message of “peace and harmony” of Islam. It was distributed by official government e-mail to churches throughout the county and sent to some vocal opponents of the ISA.

ISA is a national issue. With the cooperation of the local government, radical Islamists have established a madrassah here in the rapidly expanding Islamist enclave of Northern Virginia. Congressmen Frank Wolf (R-VA) and Anthony Weiner (D-NY) have both complained to the State Department about the Saudi-owned and operated “academy” but still no action.

Several national news organizations have talked with us about covering the hearing.

Calls to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors (see attached) from outside Virginia will help us drive home the fact that the “whole world is watching” and the Supervisors cannot afford to reinforce the stereotype of corrupt “Southern politicians” like those in the movies in which Rod Steiger played the Sheriff.

Revised Islamic History Books at Saudi Academy Face Criticism FOX

The school deleted from its texts some of the most contentious passages, including references to Jihad, killing infidels and hatred of Jews and Christians.

But critics say the books are still "toxic" and contain more subtle references, such as criticism of secular forms of government.

Ali Al-Ahmed, director of the Gulf Institute, which has been pressing the school to make revision since 2004, told FOX News that the textbooks characterize secular governments as "committing unbelief and allowing us to wage war against them."

"So you're teaching American students -- implanting the seeds of insurgency in these people -- and this is very dangerous," Al-Ahmed said.

He added that the textbooks teach girls that they should not aspire to be judges or political leaders and when a girl gets married, she must ask her husband if she wants to leave the house.

The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom says it wants to look at the books but the Saudi government, which funds the academy, won't give the panel a copy.

"We can't figure out what the Saudi government has to hide and why they continually keep these secrets," said Felice Gaer, chairwoman of the commission.

Gaer's panel released a 2008 report commissioned by the U.S. Congress which stated the school's earlier textbooks contained several troubling passages, including one that claims it is permissible for Muslims to kill adulterers and converts from Islam, and another that claims "the Jews conspired against Islam and its people."

Gaer said the State Department should translate the textbooks and determine whether they encourage violence, which would be against the law.

The Islamic Saudi Academy developed new Islamic studies textbooks for all grades after a 2008 congressional report called portions of the previous editions troubling.

But Al-Ahmed said the Gulf Institute is putting together a detailed report on these textbooks that he says will show that the school "has been deceiving' the American people on its real intention".

There is a serious issue related to radical Islamic Wahabbists gaining a greater foothold in Fairfax/Fairfax County. 

On July 13th,  there will be a very important Fairfax County Planning Commission meeting to hear from the public about the Islamic Saudi Academy (ISA)’s request to expand their Shariah based school. 

The ISA wants to replace the current building on the property with a very large two-story structure which will give them 10 times the square footage they have presently. There will be a place to meet and pray for student use only—this will be a mosque.

The Islamic Saudi Academy (ISA), founded, funded, and controlled by the Saudi Government, seeks to expand its school in Fairfax on Popes Head Road.  Currently the ISA has two locations , an upper grade school near Ft Belvoir/Mt Vernon  and a lower grade school in Fairfax.  The Wahabbists want to consolidate all 900 (and growing) students at the Fairfax location. 

At the center of the controversy are the school’s curriculum and the crimes committed by those who attended or worked at the ISA:

• Ismail Selim Elbarasse served as an accountant at ISA for 14 years before he was arrested for videotaping bridge structures including the Chesapeake Bay Bridge in August, 2004. On the day of his arrest, he was also named as an “unindicted co-conspirator” for laundering money on behalf of the American affiliate of Hamas.

• Ahmed Omar Abu Ali, an ISA valedictorian, is serving a thirty-year prison sentence for providing material support to Al-Qaeda and plotting to assassinate President G.W. Bush.

• Abdalla I. Al-Shabnan, Director General (Principal) ISA, was arrested by Fairfax police in June, 2008 for obstruction of justice and failing to report a case of child sexual abuse involving a five year old girl at the Popes Head campus.  Al-Shabnan was fined $500.

§  Mohammed El-Yacoubi and Mohammed Osman Idris, were denied entry into Israel when authorities there found El-Yacoubi carrying what the FBI believed was a suicide note linked to a planned martyrdom operation in Israel.

There is a pattern of anti-American, anti-Semitic and anti-Christian activity at the Islamic Saudi Academy.  The curriculum sanctions murder against Jews, adulterers, homosexuals, and converts from Islam—for all other Americans these would be considered crimes.

Each time the ISA gets caught and there is a new flare-up over the hate taught at the ISA, the school “fixes” the curriculum a little.  In anticipation of this zoning request, Planning Commission hearings and then the full Board hearing , the ISA has once again claimed they have altered their textbooks.  However, while the Islamic Saudi Academy deleted some of the most contentious passages from the texts, copies provided to The Associated Press show that enough sensitive material remains to fuel critics who claim the books show intolerance toward those who do not follow strict interpretations of Islamic Shariah.

Because this school is operated by the Saudi government, it teaches from the Wahabbist Saudi texts provided by the Saudi Ministry of Education.  Just as an American school overseas teaches “American” curriculum such as the Revolutionary War, our Presidents and major holidays--this school teaches Wahabbist curriculum.

• It is permissible for a Muslim to kill an apostate (a convert from Islam), an adulterer, or someone who has murdered a believer intentionally: “He (praised is He) prohibits killing the soul that God has forbidden (to kill) unless for just cause…”  Just cause is then defined in the text as “unbelief after belief, adultery, and killing an inviolable believer intentionally.” (Tafsir, Arabic/Sharia, 123)

• Jihad in the path of God – which consists of battling against unbelief, oppression, injustice, and those who perpetrate it – is the summit of Islam. This religion arose through jihad and through jihad was its banner raised high. It is one of the noblest acts, which brings one closer to God, and one of the most magnificent acts of obedience to God.

·         When is battle jihad in the path of God? … To fulfill an order from God,sacrifice in His path, spread the creed of monotheism, defend the realms of Islam and Muslims, and raise up the word of God. This is jihad in the path of God.

The Rev. Jeremiah Wright says he does not feel any regrets over his severed relationship with President Barack Obama, a former member of the Chicago church in which Wright was the longtime pastor.

Wright also said that he had not spoken to his former church member since Obama became president, implying that the White House won't allow Obama to talk to him. He did not indicate whether he had tried to reach Obama.

"Regret for what... that the media went back five, seven, 10 years and spent $4,000 buying 20 years worth of sermons to hear what I've been preaching for 20 years?

"Regret for preaching like I've been preaching for 50 years? Absolutely none," Wright said.

Asked if he had spoken to the President, Wright said: "Them Jews aren't going to let him talk to me. I told my baby daughter, that he'll talk to me in five years when he's a lame duck, or in eight years when he's out of office. ...

Wright also said Obama should have sent a U.S. delegation to the World Conference on Racism held recently in Geneva, Switzerland, but that the president did not do so for fear of offending Jews and Israel.

"Ethic cleansing is going on in Gaza. Ethnic cleansing of the Zionist is a sin and a crime against humanity, and they don't want Barack talking like that because that's anti-Israel," Wright said.

VOICE OF AMERICA NOW VOICE OF THE GLOBAL JIHAD?

According to the story by Eli Lake, the Voice of America is putting Taliban figures on the air on its Pashto radio station:

Complaints that the U.S. government's Voice of America (VOA) interviewed a top Pakistani Taliban leader have sparked an investigation into VOA's Pashto language service to determine if it has allowed itself to become a platform for terrorist propaganda.

In a letter obtained by The Washington Times, the State Department's acting inspector general, Harold Geisel, said his office will conduct a review "to determine the effectiveness of their broadcast and editorial practices and policies." The service broadcasts into the Afghanistan-Pakistan border region that serves as a refuge for al Qaeda and the Taliban.

The probe was spurred by concerns first raised by Rep. Mark Steven Kirk, an Illinois Republican who in the past had championed the Pashto-language service known as Deewa Radio. Mr. Kirk said he became concerned that American taxpayers were providing the Taliban a megaphone after he learned that Pakistani Taliban leader Baitullah Mehsud had been interviewed by the service -- and claimed responsibility for terrorist bombings in the Pakistani city of Lahore in March

The leader of the Pakistan Taliban is Baitullah Mehsud, who claimed responsibility for an attack on a police compound in Lahore and promised to attack the West. (more here)

Oh, and Mehsud claimed responsibility for the Binghamton massacre in New York back in April, in which 13 people were killed, Reuters reported.

"I accept responsibility. They were my men. I gave them orders in reaction to  U.S. drone attacks," Baituallah Mehsud told Reuters by telephone from an undisclosed location on Saturday.

So US tax dollars are being used to pay for the propaganda of Baitullah Mehsud and other terrorists. This is an outrage. The VOA is desperately in need of scrutiny, and oversight of its traitorous editorial practices.

VOA Director Danforth Austin said Deewa Radio was simply seeking to report the news in a way that was credible to listeners from the same ethnic Pashtun group as the Taliban.

The joint federal-state activities will have "a particular emphasis" on the causes of "rightwing extremist radicalization."

Homeland Security spokeswoman Sara Kuban said the report is one in an ongoing series of assessments by the department to "facilitate a greater understanding of the phenomenon of violent radicalization in the U.S."

The report, which was first disclosed to the public by nationally syndicated radio host Roger Hedgecock, makes clear that the Homeland Security Department does not have "specific information that domestic rightwing terrorists are currently planning acts of violence."It warns that fringe organizations are gaining recruits, but it provides no numbers.

The report says extremist groups have used President Obama as a recruiting tool.

(U//FOUO) Returning veterans possess combat skills and experience that are attractive to rightwing extremists. DHS/I&A is concerned that rightwing extremists will attempt to recruit and radicalize returning veterans in order to boost their violent capabilities.

Radicalize the nation's greatest patriots. Are you seeing this? The only radicalization happening on a national/global scale is Islamic jihad. Our vets????

(U) Current Economic and Political Climate

(U//FOUO) DHS/I&A assesses that a number of economic and political factors are driving a resurgence in rightwing extremist recruitment and radicalization activity. Despite similarities to the climate of the 1990s, the threat posed by lone wolves and small terrorist cells is more pronounced than in past years. In addition, the historical election of an African American president and the prospect of policy changes are proving to be a driving force for rightwing extremist recruitment and radicalization. —

There he goes again. Playing the race card again. Racism was dead in this country. It is Obama's objective to create a divisive schism in this country. The country ain't buying it. We, as a nation, elected him. Racism charge dead.

(U) A recent example of the potential violence associated with a rise in rightwing extremism may be found in the shooting deaths of three police officers in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, on 4 April 2009. The alleged gunman’s reaction reportedly was influenced by his racist ideology and belief in antigovernment conspiracy theories related to gun confiscations, citizen detention camps, and a Jewish-controlled “one world government.” 

One friggin nut and they will try to change the constitution. Thousands of Islamic attacks, honor killings, clitorectomies, shariah law, child marriage, child slavery, human slavery, lashings -- deduce nothing! And should you mention any of these things -- you are a racist and Islamophobe. 

As a Jew, this nut does not worry me. There will always be nuts - exceptions make bad law.

(U//FOUO) Rightwing extremist chatter on the Internet continues to focus on the economy, the perceived loss of U.S. jobs in the manufacturing and construction sectors, and home foreclosures. Anti-Semitic extremists attribute these losses to a deliberate conspiracy conducted by a cabal of Jewish “financial elites.” These “accusatory” tactics are employed to draw new recruits into rightwing extremist groups and further radicalize those already subscribing to extremist beliefs. DHS/I&A assesses this trend is likely to accelerate if the economy is perceived to worsen.

They are using the Jews. Most if not all of the recent spate of anti-semitic attacks here and abroad were committed by Muslims. FACT.

(U//FOUO) Perceptions on Poverty and Radicalization

(U//FOUO) Scholars and experts disagree over poverty’s role in motivating violent radicalization or terrorist activity. High unemployment, however, has the potential to lead to alienation, thus increasing an individual’s susceptibility to extremist ideas. According to a 2007 study from the German Institute for Economic Research, there appears to be a strong association between a parent’s unemployment status and the formation of rightwing extremist beliefs in their children—specifically xenophobia and antidemocratic ideals. ownership and use. Rightwing extremists are increasingly galvanized by these concerns and leverage them as drivers for recruitment. From the 2008 election timeframe to the present, rightwing extremists have capitalized on related racial and political prejudices in expanded propaganda campaigns, thereby reaching out to a wider audience of potential sympathizers. —

Translation: Anyone who believes in immigration control and reform is an extremist. This is the club to the head of any resistance to shamnesty.

In two instances in the run-up to the election, extremists appeared to be in the early planning stages of some threatening activity targeting the Democratic nominee, but law enforcement interceded.

Never happened. Look at history. Recent assassination attempts have been by leftopaths (Squeaky), commies  (Oswald) and nuts (Hinckley).

(U) Revisiting the 1990s

(U//FOUO) Paralleling the current national climate, rightwing extremists during the 1990s exploited a variety of social issues and political themes to increase group visibility and recruit new members. Prominent among these themes were the militia movement’s opposition to gun control efforts, criticism of free trade agreements (particularly those with Mexico), and highlighting perceived government infringement on civil liberties as well as white supremacists’ longstanding exploitation of social issues such as abortion, inter-racial crimes, and same-sex marriage.

Abortion, gay marriage and racism -- the inane drone of the left. I have been to these rallies and let me tell you - the proponents of gay marriage, abortion and "racism canards" are the violent ones. Every time.

(U) Economic Hardship and Extremism

(U//FOUO) Historically, domestic rightwing extremists have feared, predicted, and anticipated a cataclysmic economic collapse in the United States. Prominent antigovernment conspiracy theorists have incorporated aspects of an impending economic collapse to intensify fear and paranoia among like-minded individuals and to attract recruits during times of economic uncertainty. Conspiracy theories involving declarations of martial law, impending civil strife or racial conflict, suspension of the U.S. Constitution, and the creation of citizen detention camps often incorporate aspects of a failed economy. Antigovernment conspiracy theories and “end times” prophecies could motivate extremist individuals and groups to stockpile food, ammunition, and weapons. These teachings also have been linked with the radicalization of domestic extremist individuals and groups in the past, such as violent Christian Identity organizations and extremist members of the militia movement

Obama has set about to bankrupt this nation with a nine trillion rip off of the national treasury. The bankrupting of the hardworking to pay off his thug political machine and his thug army. Any great American (think tea parties) who dissents will be targeted.

(U//FOUO) Rightwing extremists were concerned during the 1990s with the perception that illegal immigrants were taking away American jobs through their willingness to work at significantly lower wages. They also opposed free trade agreements, arguing that these arrangements resulted in Americans losing jobs to countries such as Mexico.

(U//FOUO) Over the past five years, various rightwing extremists, including militias and white supremacists, have adopted the immigration issue as a call to action, rallying point, and recruiting tool. Debates over appropriate immigration levels and enforcement policy generally fall within the realm of protected political speech under the First Amendment, but in some cases, anti-immigration or strident pro-enforcement fervor has been directed against specific groups and has the potential to turn violent. 

Obama wants shamnesty. Obama wants to open up the flood gates, have ACORN register them to vote - overwhelm the electorate with entitlement voters. The end the will of the American people - the end of fair elections.

(U//FOUO) DHS/I&A assesses that rightwing extremist groups’ frustration over a perceived lack of government action on illegal immigration has the potential to incite individuals or small groups toward violence. If such violence were to occur, it likely would be isolated, small-scale, and directed at specific immigration-related targets. —

Check out the word "perceived" - the fact that the government is doing nothing is beside the point, right?  The reference "directed at specific immigration-related targets" refers to Binghamton -- and my sources tell me, Binghamton was not a lone gunman -- was not a guy who was pissed because he lost his job. My sources tell me  there were supposed to me more. It was retaliation in that Muslim enclave.

Similar legislation was introduced in 2008 in several states proposing mandatory tagging and registration of ammunition. It is unclear if either bill will be passed into law; nonetheless, a correlation may exist between the potential passage of gun control legislation and increased hoarding of ammunition, weapons stockpiling, and paramilitary training activities among rightwing extremists.

(U) Perceived Threat from Rise of Other Countries

(U//FOUO) Rightwing extremist paranoia of foreign regimes could escalate or be magnified in the event of an economic crisis or military confrontation, harkening back to the “New World Order” conspiracy theories of the 1990s. The dissolution of Communist countries in Eastern Europe and the end of the Soviet Union in the 1990s led some rightwing extremists to believe that a “New World Order” would bring about a world government that would usurp the sovereignty of the United States and its Constitution, thus infringing upon their liberty. The dynamics in 2009 are somewhat similar, as other countries, including China, India, and Russia, as well as some smaller, oil-producing states, are experiencing a rise in economic power and influence. —

(U//FOUO) DHS/I&A assesses that lone wolves and small terrorist cells embracing violent rightwing extremist ideology are the most dangerous domestic terrorism threat in the United States. Information from law enforcement and nongovernmental organizations indicates lone wolves and small terrorist cells have shown intent—and, in some cases, the capability—to commit violent acts. —

(U//LES) DHS/I&A has concluded that white supremacist lone wolves pose the most significant domestic terrorist threat because of their low profile and autonomy—separate from any formalized group—which hampers warning efforts. —

(U//FOUO) Similarly, recent state and municipal law enforcement reporting has warned of the dangers of rightwing extremists embracing the tactics of “leaderless resistance” and of lone wolves carrying out acts of violence. —

(U//FOUO) Arrests in the past several years of radical militia members in Alabama, Arkansas, and Pennsylvania on firearms, explosives, and other related violations indicates the emergence of small, well-armed extremist groups in some rural areas. ordnance that they planned to use in attacks on nearby military and federal facilities and infrastructure targets. —

(U//FOUO) Rightwing extremist views bemoan the decline of U.S. stature and have recently focused on themes such as the loss of U.S. manufacturing capability to China and India, Russia’s control of energy resources and use of these to pressure other countries, and China’s investment in U.S. real estate and corporations as a part of subversion strategy.

Rightwing extremist views bemoan the decline of U.S. stature? LIE. Obama fallaciously preaches about the decline of US stature us right wing Patriots know better.

Obama and his minions cannot demoralize Americans who love this country. Not possible. His Alinsky rules for radicals will not work on thinking, rational men and women.

(U) Disgruntled Military Veterans

The only disgruntled military are the ones that were forced to applaud the traitor in the White House.

(U) After Operation Desert Shield/Storm in 1990-1991, some returning military veterans—including Timothy McVeigh—joined or associated with rightwing extremist groups. —

(U//FOUO) Following the 1995 bombing of the Alfred P. Murrah federal building in Oklahoma City, the militia movement declined in total membership and in the number of organized groups because many members distanced themselves from the movement as a result of the intense scrutiny militias received after the bombing. —

They have one bombing -- one (with Middle Eastern connections that were suppressed) - and this is the basis of their takeover and coup on the Constitution.

(U//FOUO) Although the U.S. economy experienced a significant recovery and many perceived a concomitant rise in U.S. standing in the world, white supremacist groups continued to experience slight growth.

(U//FOUO) DHS/I&A will be working with its state and local partners over the next several months to ascertain with greater regional specificity the rise in rightwing extremist activity in the United States, with a particular emphasis on the political, economic, and social factors that drive rightwing extremist radicalization.

Generations Invigorating Volunteerism and Education Act or the GIVE Act PASSES! (more here)(1) the School-Based and Community-Based Service-Learning programs and Higher Education Innovative Programs for Community Service (Learn and Serve programs); (2) National Service Trust programs (AmeriCorps); (3) the National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC); and (4) the Investment for Quality and Innovation program. Eliminates the current Community-Based Learn and Serve programs. Establishes two new Learn and Serve programs: (1) Campuses of Service, which provides funds to institutions of higher education to develop or disseminate exemplary service-learning programs that assist their students' pursuit of public service careers; and (2) Innovative Service-Learning Programs and Research, which funds community service-learning opportunities for elementary and secondary, college, and graduate students as well as research into service-learning. Includes among eligible AmeriCorps programs: (1) an Education Corps to address unmet educational needs; (2) a Healthy Futures Corps to address unmet health needs; (3) a Clean Energy Corps to address unmet environmental needs; and (4) a Veterans Corps to address the unmet needs of veterans and their families. Creates AmeriCorps Opportunity Corps programs that include certain existing programs and new programs to: (1) increase community access to technology; (2) engage citizens in public safety, health, and emergency preparedness services; (3) mentor youth; (4) reduce recidivism by re-engaging court-involved youth; and (5) support the needs of veterans or active duty service members and their families. Establishes an Education Awards Only program authorizing the Corporation for National and Community Service (Corporation) to provide fixed-amount grants to programs that have approved national service positions, but no AmeriCorps funding. Sets the National Service educational awards for full-time AmeriCorps, NCCC, and Volunteers in Service to America (VISTA) participants at a level equal to the maximum available Pell Grant available to students under the Higher Education Act of 1965. Includes among needs to be met under the NCCC program, disaster relief, infrastructure improvement, environmental and energy conservation, and urban and rural development. Requires states to develop comprehensive plans for volunteer and paid service by Baby Boomers and older adults. Directs the Corporation to plan pilot programs to: (1) better target and serve displaced workers; and (2) establish a centralized electronic citizenship verification system which would allow the Corporation to share employment eligibility information with the Department of Education. Authorizes the Corporation to treat September 11th annually as a National Day of Service and Remembrance. Establishes within the Investment for Quality and Innovation program: (1) a ServeAmerica Fellowships program providing fellowships to individuals chosen by states to participate in service projects addressing certain areas of national need; (2) a Silver Scholarship Grant Program providing scholarships to individuals age 55 or older who complete at least 500 hours of service in a year in an area of national need; and (3) an Encore Fellowships program providing one-year fellowships to individuals age 55 or older who serve in areas of national need and receive training to transition to public service employment. Makes ServeAmerica fellows eligible for national service educational awards. Authorizes the Corporation to provide grants to innovative and model service programs, including those for disadvantaged youth, youth under age 17, and potential recidivists. Eliminates federal funding for the Points of Light Foundation. Revises under DVSA: (1) the VISTA program; and (2) the Senior Corps, including the Retired and Senior Volunteer program (RSVP), the Foster Grandparent program, and the Senior Companion program. Gives priority in VISTA participant selection to disadvantaged youth and retired adults of any profession. Authorizes new VISTA grant programs of national significance that provide poor and rural communities with: (1) services reintegrating formerly incarcerated individuals into society; (2) financial literacy and planning; (3) before-school and after-school services; (4) community economic development initiatives; (5) assistance to veterans and their families; and (6) health and wellness services. Eliminates the VISTA Literacy Corps, University Year for VISTA, and Literacy Challenge Grant programs. Raises the minimum and maximum stipend provided to VISTA participants. Prioritizes RSVP projects in specified areas. Makes anyone 55 years of age or older eligible as Senior Corps volunteers. Provides, under the Senior Corps demonstration program, incentive matching grants to Senior Corps programs that exceed specified performance measures, enroll most of their volunteers in outcome-based service programs, and increase their enrollment of Baby Boomer volunteers. Expresses the sense of the Congress that the number of AmeriCorps, VISTA, and NCCC participants should reach 250,000 by 2014. Congressional Commission on Civic Service Act - Establishes a Congressional Commission on Civic Service to provide recommendations to Congress on improving opportunities for individuals to volunteer or perform national service.

What is frightening is the tentacles that this will entail as all agencies need to create positions for these volunteers. Yada … yada .. I could go on as how he has tied his FEMA Scheme for the Civilian Security Defense Force into this legislation, but now they’re called “National Volunteer Reserve Corps.” This creates images of the Peace Corps, but it is something far more sinister. In addition, the legislation is targeting foster kids, disadvantaged teens and more specifically BLACK colleges and universities. Reading the provisions, it smacks of a program tailor-made for ACORN. It is a bill that has reverse discrimination all over it as it is NOT designed for middle-class Americans to benefit from — regardless of your race. But this is NOT what has piffed me off.

The GIVE Act has 12 amendments. The one I am outraged over is House Amendment 49. It reads: “H.Amdt49 Pass Amendment to prohibit organizations from attempting to influence legislation; organize or engage in protests, petitions, boycotts, or strikes; and assist, promote, or deter union organizing.”

Every American a 'Volunteer' American Thinker

You can read the final version of the House bill here. The legislation is a long string of amendments to existing laws that make it almost impossible to understand. (Really. This legislation is incomprehensible. I challenge you to click on this link and try to read the bill.)

There appears to be little volunteerism and almost no education in the bill.  But there are a lot of make-work government jobs for doing God only knows what.

For example:SEC. 122. NATIONAL SERVICE PROGRAMS ELIGIBLE FOR PROGRAM ASSISTANCE.

‘(a) Required National Service Corps- The recipient of a grant under section 121(a) and each Federal agency operating or supporting a national service program under section 121(b) shall, directly or through grants or subgrants to other entities, carry out or support the following national service corps, as full- or part-time corps, including during the summer months, to address unmet educational, health, veteran, or environmental needs.

In case you missed it that says “

National Service Corps.”

And the authorized benefits for these "volunteers" reads a lot like the workers’ allotments for a “people’s republic” to me:

(a) In general
The Director shall provide for members of the Civilian Community Corps to receive benefits authorized by this section.

(b) Living allowance
The Director shall provide a living allowance to members of the Corps for the period during which such members are engaged in training or any activity on a Corps project. The Director shall establish the amount of the allowance at any amount not in excess of the amount equal to 100 percent of the poverty line that is applicable to a family of two (as defined by the Office of Management and Budget and revised annually in accordance with section 9902 (2) of this title.[1]

(c) Other authorized benefits
While receiving training or engaging in service projects as members of the Civilian Community Corps, members may be provided the following benefits:

(1) Allowances for travel expenses, personal expenses, and other expenses.
<(2) Quarters.
(3) Subsistence.
<(4) Transportation.
5) Equipment.
<(6) Clothing.
(7) Recreational services and supplies.
(8) Other services determined by the Director to be consistent with the purposes of the Program.

Does that read like a voluntary program for, say, cleaning up the neighborhood?  Or does it seem more like directions for funding a labor camp?

That America’s young people are not up in arms at the very idea of this bill demonstrates how ill-informed, or brain washed, the graduates of our public education system have become.

The Senate could vote on the bill today or tomorrow. You may want to contact your senator and see if you can help stop this monstrosity. If not, the People’s Republic takes its first baby step when the Senate passes HR 1388.

Greetings fellow South Florida riders, South Floridians, and Americans, here we are for another monthly installment of our Wheels on the Road political assessment. It is hard to believe how fast a month flies by but it seems that we have been under the Obama administration for years; perhaps it is the everyday speeches.

I hate speeches.

I pride myself in being a person of calm demeanor, unless of course you are Attorney General Eric Holder and you call my America a “nation of cowards”. So as I begin this month’s article I find myself on the verge of total rage which is great for writing.

In these first 60 days of the Obama administration I am beginning to have concern over issues of national security. There have been some very disturbing trends which I will share in this month’s column.

It first started right after the coronation; I mean inauguration, with the first phone call going to Mahmoud Abbas. Last time I checked the leader of the displaced Arab nomad group in the West Bank called Fatah was not a National leader, or ally. Considering all the other key allies who have stood by the United States, why was this gentleman first for a new President to call?

Next came the series of executive orders which commanded we shut down Guantanamo Bay (GITMO) detention facility, stop any harsh treatment of terrorists, and ceased any ongoing military trials against those being held. Now just recently we have heard from the infamous GITMO 5 who have claimed they take utmost pride in what they have accomplished to include the atrocities of 9-11.

We know that some 60 released detainees went right back to the battlefield to include several who are now leaders in Yemen and Afghanistan. Some would say this recidivism rate is low, however, not when you are the US man or woman in uniform overseas fighting.

As of 13 March we have been instructed by this administration that we can no longer call these fellas “enemy combatants”. Hmm, lets see, how about we call them “Friendly Frustrated Freedom Fighters”? I am certain we should consult Dr Phil for a proper means to address these cheeky fellows without damaging their self-esteem.

New Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano recently stated in an interview that she found using the term terrorism nuanced. She preferred using the term “man created disasters”. Well, Secretary Napolitano, if there is another “man created disaster” perpetrated by “Friendly Frustrated Freedom Fighters” Americans not take that too kindly.

Does an IED fall into the category of a “man created disaster”?

Soon after the series of executive orders focusing on GITMO the President gave his first TV interview, with Al Arabiya. During that interview he remarked about a return to better relations with the Muslim world, like 30 years ago. Perhaps the President did not realize that in Iran they have been celebrating the 30 year anniversary of the Islamic revolution.

I remember that being a very sad and embarrassing episode in American history, can you say Embassy hostages?

At a time when we are having serious economic issues the American taxpayers are now sending $900 Million to the Gaza Strip for rebuilding. The “political” entity controlling Gaza is called Hamas, and they are a “Friendly Frustrated Freedom Fighter” organization. I can certainly bet that the only thing being rebuilt will be tunnels from Egypt into Gaza.

Along with that piece of change, is, by executive order, $20.3 Million going to resettle pro-Hamas Palestinians to the USA…..did anyone ask the American people about this?

First planned foreign country visit? Turkey, where “Friendly Frustrated Freedom Fighter” ideology is taking root (I call it radical Islamic ideology, but don’t tell anyone, I could be arrested for hate speech).

So far the President’s only visit to a US military installation was to Camp Lejeune NC, home of the US Marine II Expeditionary Force, a place where I spent three great years. The purpose was to announce his plan for withdrawal from Iraq.

Could you imagine Alexander the Great telling his Macedonians, “well guys, that whole bit about conquering the world, I was just kidding, let’s go home”. Warriors want to be inspired.

President Obama and Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi have both referred to our ICE agents as terrorizing Hispanics and being un-American. That should really inspire them to protect us against illegal immigrants.

Ok, you are asking so what? Well, this is the so what, President Obama has decided that our wounded warriors and others with service related injuries will have to use private insurance. AFLAC does not send our men and women into harm’s way to defend our way of life, the Constitution mandates the government do so.

The so what is that why are we placating and appeasing the enemy while abandoning those who stay on the wall protecting our America? That has me fuming and truly concerned about the loyalties of this President.

Nero fiddled while Rome burned; our President Barack Hussein Obama has Wednesday evening parties in the White House.

How did we get to this point?

Unfortunately, it increasingly appears that, in so doing, he will be embracing the agenda of the Muslim Brotherhood – an organization dedicated to promoting the theo-political-legal program authoritative Islam

calls Shariah and that has the self-described mission of "destroying Western civilization from within."

 

As part of Mr. Obama's "Respect Islam" campaign, he will travel to Turkey in early April. While there, he will not only pay tribute to an Islamist government that has systematically wrested every institution from the secular tradition of Ataturk and put the country squarely on the path to Islamification. He will also participate in something called the "Alliance of Civilizations."

Bat Ye'or said the following of the Alliance of Civilizations  in a speech given at the Counter Jihad conference in Brussels in 2007: The Alliance of Civilizations, created to oppose the clash of civilizations, that is jihad, hasalso added pressure. On 13 November 2006, the High-Level Group of the Alliance ofCivilizations presented its report which sums up the request of the OIC at its Mecca Summit in 2005, after the Cartoons affair. First, it adopts the Islamic view of history and politics byclaiming that everything was fine between the three monotheistic religions until the 19thcentury, when the evil of European colonialism and Zionism destroyed this harmony. Then itaffirms that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict is the main source of Christian-Muslimantagonism, not the jihadist war and ideology that deny for others the right to exist. It proclaims that this conflict “remains one of the gravest threats to international stability” and formulates recommendations that again echo the OIC requests. Such views mirror Hitler accusing the Jews of fomenting World War II, or the Protocols of the Elders of Zion, praisedin the Hamas charter, the Palestinian branch of the Muslim Brotherhood which denies Israel’s right to exist.

The recent meeting of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (and here) (OSCE Conference on intolerance and discrimination against Muslims, Cordoba, 9-10 October 2007) is much of the same, a charter of dhimmitude. It examines the means to condition Europeans to respect Muslim immigrants and accept their culture. Although racism against Muslims as well as against any other should be punished, nowhere do we see in any of these texts a genuine desire to understand the fears of Europeans aggressed in their own country by local jihadist cells, their anger at the Muslim scriptures and history loaded with anti-Jewish and anti-Christian stereotypes which they bring into Europe, the continual incitement to hate and war against the infidels, particularly against Israel and America, the inferiority of women and the legal oppression of non-Muslims. The accusations of Islamophobia totally overlook these facts as if they emerge from a vacuum. The Eurabian moral dishonesty that incriminates Israel’s self-defense in order to exist is now projected onto Europe, guilty when protecting itself against Islamic terrorism. Our self-defense is considered an aggression that victimizes Muslims. We are in fact in a logic of dhimmitude within Europe.

The Alliance is a UN-sponsored affair that reflects – as, increasingly do most things the United Nations is involved in – the views of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). The OIC is made up of 57 Muslim-majority nations. Thanks to support from Saudi Arabia and its proxies, the Muslim Brotherhood has become a driving force within the Conference and their agendas largely coincide.

 

For example, in 2005 a communiqué issued after a summit in Mecca declared: "The Conference underlined the need to collectively endeavor to reflect the noble Islamic values, counter Islamophobia, defamation of Islam and its values and desecration of Islamic holy sites, and to effectively coordinate with States as well as regional and international institutions and organizations to urge them to criminalize this phenomenon as a form of racism." 

The logic of dhimmitude.

Ominously, as part of its bid to "criminalize" Islamophobia, the OIC is seeking "deterrent punishments." It insists that not only freedom of expression but all human rights be circumscribed by the OIC's 1990 Cairo Declaration on Human Rights in Islam, which concludes with the caveat that, "All the rights and freedoms stipulated in this Declaration are subject to the Islamic Shariah." Translation: Liberties enshrined in the UN's foundational Universal Declaration of Human Rights are largely rendered null and void.

 

The demand that no criticism of Islam be permitted is the preeminent feature of the Muslim Brotherhood's efforts in the West. In fact, it is but the leading edge of the Brothers' bid to suppress public awareness of the threat posed by their program in societies that pride themselves on religious tolerance, thereby facilitating seditious penetration and influence operations by the Shariah-adherent.

 

A playbook for the latter can be found in a publication issued last fall by the U.S.-Muslim Engagement Project that is being aggressively promoted to the Obama administration and Congress by a number of its non-Muslim participants. Notably, former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright recently effusively presented the Project's book entitled Changing Course: A New Direction for U.S. Relations with the Muslim World to the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Former Congressman Vin Weber did the same at Grover Norquist's weekly meeting of conservative activists last week.

 

Underwritten largely by George Soros' and other left-wing foundations, Changing Course seems to reflect predominantly the recommendations of groups the government has established are Muslim Brotherhood fronts, such as the Islamic Society of North America and the Muslim Public Affairs Council. Both are represented in the Engagement Project's "Leadership Group." Accordingly, its book calls for:

 

• "engagement with groups that have clearly demonstrated a commitment to nonviolent participation in politics" (read: the Brotherhood);
• "not equat[ing] reform with secularism, nor...assum[ing] that reformers who advocate some form of Shariah as the basis for the rule of law will inevitably abuse human rights or adopt anti-American policies";
• "not supply[ing] additional ammunition to extremists by linking the term ‘Islam' or key tenets of the religion of Islam with the actions of extremist or terrorist groups";
• Launching "an education program comparable in scale" to "the more than $7 billion" invested in the "post-Sputnik U.S. commitment to math and science education" to "education on Islam and Muslims, sustained over a decade or more, focused on teacher training and curriculum in middle and high schools, and colleges."

Emboldened by the promise of this influence operation and the apparent willingness of the Obama administration to embrace the Muslim Brotherhood's agenda – in part, if not in its entirety – the organization's assorted fronts in America are becoming ever more audacious. In response to a long-overdue decision taken by the FBI last year to terminate "sensitivity training" of its agents by one of the most prominent of these fronts, the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR), assorted Brotherhood groups and operatives reportedly intend to announce that Muslims will henceforth cease any and all cooperation with U.S. law enforcement until CAIR is rehabilitated.

 

Such a step would not only call into question the patriotism of the many Muslims in America who do not embrace the Brotherhood's Shariah agenda – something that would, presumably, be as offensive to them as it would be troubling to the rest of us. It could also expose those engaged in it to criminal charges of "misprision of felony," conspiring to withhold information from the authorities concerning terrorist operations and activities in the Muslim community.

Thereby killing any hope, any hope at all of real reform of Islam.

The message should go forth: Friends of the Muslim Brotherhood are no friends of America. We follow their guidance at our peril.

Grover Norquist is a conservative activist and the president of Americans for Tax Reform. He is also well-known in Washington D.C. circles as a friend of Islam. Since the 1990s he has held weekly “Wednesday meetings” in which he briefs fellow conservatives and helps plot strategy for the Republican party.

But yesterday it was Mr. Norquist’s turn to be briefed.

A few days ago I wrote about John Kerry’s speech on the Senate floor touting the U.S.-Muslim Engagement Project. Yesterday Mr. Norquist’s group was briefed by Vin Weber, a member of the leadership group of the same U.S.-Muslim Engagement Project.

According to several attendees who were present at Grover Norquist’s Wednesday meeting, the participants — presumably including members of Congress — were offered paperback copies of the “Changing the Course” document (pdf), which outlines the steps needed to help the United States achieve reconciliation with the Muslim world.

Unfortunately for non-Muslims in the United States, this prescription involves more engagement and more appeasement. It calls for yet more dialogue with and respect for Islam, and includes a special emphasis on removing Hamas and Hezbollah from the list of terrorist groups so that they can be recognized as legitimate negotiating partners.

The involvement of Mr. Norquist’s group raises questions about of the extent of Islamist infiltration throughout the conservative NGO groups.

If anyone is curious why this year’s CPAC — which has just folded its tents — didn’t have a single panel on radical Islam or the war on terror, remember that Grover Norquist is on the board of the ACU, which sponsors CPAC.

CPAC conservatives have now fallen into line. They don’t use words like jihad, nor do they associate Islam with terror. They have their ACU marching orders.

What’s more, attendees at Mr. Norquist’s meeting yesterday received the Muslim Brotherhood-approved game plan for the Obama administration.

No, not to critique it.

No, not to oppose it.

To get in line and support it.

What is it, exactly?

As I mentioned above, paperback copies of the how-to manual for American appeasement “Changing the Course” were distributed to attendees, along with a helpful lecture from Vin Weber (Ingrid Mattson, president of ISNA and Weber’s colleague on the US-Muslim Engagement Project, was sadly absent).

Mr. Norquist is making sure that conservatives have the “politically correct” position — that is, Obama’s position. The same position held by Ingrid Mattson and the Muslim Brotherhood. Which, coincidentally, is also the position of Senator John Kerry and former Secretary of State Madeleine Albright, who testified to Kerry’s committee under her US-Muslim engagement project affiliation on February 26.

If we lived in a sane world, revealing all of this to the American public would cause a stir.

But this is not news. It’s a “dog bites man” story.

Still, it’s a damned dangerous dog — and from time to time it still bites.

democratic states, free market economies and free speech are under a two pronged attack waged by islamic jihad for the last 50 years or so, and unrelentingly so by the radical left and the communist ideology since the advent of marxist thought and organizations, such as the com-intern and the various popular front revolutions since the time of lenin, trotsky and stalin. as to the latter, the west has largely successfully resisted overt and militaristic attacks in europe, in austria after wwi, and in greece and the entirety of south east asia and the pacific rim after wwii: the attack in this whole area was blunted by american efforts in viet nam, in my estimation. but the democratic states have been either oblivious to or unresisting of the attacks of the theories of the left and communism upon those values which form the basis of the free market democratic states, and this unrelenting attack carried out over the breadth of the 20th century, has been so successful that many otherwise supporters of free society are just about entirely ignorant of the values which underpin our society and culture and politics. concomitantly, the west is under unremitting terrorist attack, most of it stemming from the islamic jihad’s attempt to kick the west from the middle east, and lately, as an open and avowed attempt to conquer europe, within the context of social and demographic and religious values, and to impose sharia, or islamic law, upon the west.

it is the thesis of this little paper that these attacks are coordinated by the left and islam. the left very consciously uses the tensions in western political systems caused by islam and islam’s application of jihad, especially via the mechanism of hate speech laws to restrict and destroy free speech traditions to advance its leftist political agendas the world over. the islamic jihad uses the over complicity of euro and ameri leftist thought to provide legitimizing social justification for its terror, and receives direct financial subsidies from organizations like the united nations to subsidize and support it terror campaign, and to promote islamic immigration into the west to advance is demographic campaign to institute sharia. the left is, in short, complicitous with the jihad in its attacks, and supports the legitimacy of the jihad’s attacks upon western business interests and institutions, precisely to aid the imposition of its agenda antagonistic to the very institutions attacked by the jihad.

in order to advance this thesis, i am going to examine the various assumptions and values which have held societies and human groups together since time immemorial, and posit those which are also subsumed under the modern nation state. in other words, what beliefs and values make the constituent parts of democracy what they are together in sum, and which of these values are absolutely necessary to support the continued vitality and function of the modern democratic nation state, founded, as it is, upon free market economies and free speech. you might ask, why go to this bother? this is a good question, especially as some of these matters are not mentioned again in the course of the paper: but, think, if you will, as you read this paper, how many of these ancient values are assailed by the left and by jihad, even as the main pillars of western institutions, free market economics and free market thought, come under the direct attacks of the leftist and jihad agenda. (this requires some participation on your part.) then, i will look at the left and the jihad, with a view toward how its attack is very precisely focused on these bedrock assumptions and intellectual premises of the free market, so as to understand the very real danger that these attacks pose on the very existence of democratic states.

finally, i will try to look at the relative danger posed by the partnership of the left and the jihad. it is a very complicated situation, and very fluid, and not without some subtle ironies. for there is no less inherent antagonism between the left and islam as there exists between democracy and islam, and at some point, a reckoning will come between islam and the left as well, as islam will neither brook nor tolerate the rule of the left, and will break from the left and seek to conquer it as well. and, the euro and american left are no better at comprehending the animus that drives islam than their rightist brethren, who they seek to topple by using islam. given the inherent fluidity of this situation, i will still attempt to point towards what i consider the greater long term threat to our institutions, and our very survival as free people.

as the title to the paper suggests, i am not horribly sanguine that america and the west will survive, not because the jihad and the left are so strong, but because we as the adherents of freedom have become enfeebled, and lost our way, having forgotten the basics of what made us great in the first place. we are, in short, no longer true believers in the values that gave us our wealth and our liberties. we do not defend them jealously, to the death.

The Daily Star (UK) can reveal the lethal book contains step-by-step instructions on how to make explosives and detonators. A shocked MP described the book as a “terrorist’s dream” and called for it to be banned.

The cover of The Preparatory Manual Of Explosives, Third Edition boasts “574 pages – 166 explosives” alongside photos of blasts.  It starts by explaining basic science such as the periodic table, how elements react with each other and how to mix them in test tubes. It tells readers in minute detail how to make deadly devices including fertiliser bombs, Semtex and TNT and, crucially for would-be bomb nuts, their “overall value as an explosive”.

The £37.49 book is available to any customer on the online store. And it adds: “The book will enlighten the reader in the art of explosives chemistry and science.”

The book, compiled by author Jared Ledgard, has become so useful to wannabe terrorists that it is listed on Islamic websites as a “must-own”.

One fanatics’ site features it alongside pro-Taliban propaganda and information from “Holy Warriors in Afghanistan”.

However, on Amazon the book is listed under the encyclopaedias category alongside books for children of school age. 

Last night an Amazon spokesman said the firm stood by their decision to sell the book. He added: “We do not dictate to our customers what they can or cannot buy.”

Email from the Front: Chuck E Cheese

Multi-cultural mendacity, I tell ya!

I saw your Infidel tee shirt advertised on Atlas Shrugs and couldn't resist it. I just received it in the mail last week and wore it for the first time tonight. I wore my shirt to Chuck E Cheese's and ended up causing a disruption. A group of people who appeared ethnically Middle Eastern but spoke native English started asking me question about where I got the shirt and what it meant, and I said I bought it off a Web site, and infidel is just someone who does not follow Islam.

The group of started berating me and telling me the shirt was offensive yada yada yada. A woman in the group told my wife that I was "sh*t" and she felt sorry for me. I did not say anything about terrorism or anything else to provoke them, but one of them told me that America and Israel are the biggest terrorists in the world and have killed more people than Islam and that I need to get my facts straight. They then went off and complained to the manager. Later the manager came to me and asked me if I could cover it up somehow because he had received more than one complaint that it was offensive to their culture.

Everything I have read tells me the definition of infidel is either someone who is Christian or at least someone who does not believe in Islam. If Islam is supposed to be so tolerant how can it be offensive to announce that I am not a follower? I had previously worn a tee shirt with the Dutch cartoon of Mohammed with a bomb turban and never got anything but compliments, so I was surprised I created such an uproar with a shirt that should have been far less offensive. The irony is amazing.

At least now I know what shirt I will be wearing every time I go through airport security.

On December 27, 2008, the Islamist news organization Islamonline.net (IOL), which is overseen by prominent Sunni sheikh Yousef Al-Qaradhawi, announced that it had opened an office in Washington, D.C. Following is information about the new office, and about Sheikh Al-Qaradhawi's connection to it:

IOL "Aims to Contribute to Projecting Much-Needed True Image of Muslims"

According to the announcement, the new Washington office, located in the National Press Building, was opened "in an effort to reach out to its wider audience and larger readership."

IOL English managing editor Muhammad Zidan said, "This new office stands as a step forward in realizing part of the aims and objectives of IOL - that is, promoting awareness about important events in the Arab, Muslim and larger world, in addition to providing services to Muslims and non-Muslims in several languages." [1]

Acting Bureau Chief Ossama El-Shamy said that he would put all his efforts into guaranteeing the success and growth of IOL presence in, and coverage of, the U.S.

Kamal Badr, IOL English website editor-in-chief, said, "In a true sense, America can be called a multicultural and multi-ethnic society. It is full of activities with interests to Muslims... Here in Washington D.C., one has direct access to important activities and personalities that will definitely enhance our coverage. [The] Washington office is a step in a proper direction for the English website, in a sense that it will further provide it a solid media ground in the strategic areas for its international coverage."

The announcement added that IOL "aims to contribute to projecting the much-needed true image of Muslims."

Zidan said, "U.S. President-elect Barack Obama has proved that if there are persistent efforts, there can be a change... Islam has a universal appeal. We invite all the people, whether Muslims or non-Muslims, to come forward and express their views from [the] IOL platform." [2]

IOL Founded, Supported, Supervised By Sheikh Yousef Al-Qaradhawi

IOL was, according to PBS, founded by prominent Sunni sheikh Yousef Al-Qaradhawi. [3] In its early stages, Sheikh Al-Qaradhawi personally "adopted" IOL, [4] supported it, and supervised it, and, according to The Guardian, it has remained under his supervision. [5] Al-Qaradawi has promoted IOL in the media, especially on his weekly Al-Jazeera TV program. [6]

Al-Qaradhawi, who is banned from entering the U.S. and the U.K., [7] is among the top spiritual leaders of the Muslim Brotherhood movement, and serves as a spiritual guide for many other Islamist organizations across the world. He heads the European Council for Fatwa and Research, and is founder and director of the International Union of Muslim Scholars (IUMS). [8]

Al-Qaradhawi's activity in recent months has included preaching against Shi'ites and the spread of the Shi'a in the Sunni Arab world. [9] Most recently, in his Friday sermon of January 9, 2009 he promoted boycotting U.S. goods, including the Starbucks chain, as well as the U.K. chain Marks and Spencer, stressing to his audience, "[P]ut the boycott against the nation's enemies into action. Every riyal you pay turns into a bullet in the heart of your brothers in Gaza and in other Islamic countries." In the same sermon, he also said, "Oh Allah, take this oppressive, Jewish, Zionist band of people... and kill them, down to the very last one.'" [10]

Al-Qaradhawi: IOL is "The Jihad of Our Era"

According to Arab Media and Society, a publication of the Middle East Centre of St. Antony's College, Oxford University, and the Kamal Adham Center for Journalism Training and Research at The American University in Cairo, IOL is "one of the most-visited Arabic/English Islamic web portals which issue fatwas." In a promotional brochure for IOL, Sheikh Al-Qaradhawi said of its mission: "This project is neither nationalistic nor one aiming at a grouping or a group of people; it is a project for the entire Islamic community. It is the jihad of our era." [11]

In a speech posted on the website, Al-Qaradhawi stressed IOL as a means of fulfilling the obligation "to carry this religion to all people around the world... We [have already] used print, radio, and television. Today, there is a new medium known as the Internet. All religions have used it to call to their religions and sects. It is the duty of the Muslims to use this tool to call to their great religion, which God has granted them with, and leave others - who have lost their way - to call it... This is what this major, global project - Islam Online - is doing. It carries the message of Islam to the world."

9 arrested in NYC pro-Palestinian rally CNN

NEW YORK (CNN) — At least nine protesters were arrested in a pro-Palestinian rally in New York that injured seven police officers, authorities said.

The extent of injuries varied from minor to serious, New York police said. Two officers sustained head injuries.

Detective Cheryl Crispin said the protesters taken into custody faced charges ranging from disorderly conduct to reckless endangerment.

In a statement, the NYPD said the officers were injured when trying to break up a fight between two demonstrators.

The demonstrators had gathered on Manhattan’s West Side on Sunday afternoon to protest the Israeli incursion in Gaza.

I just heard about call from a friend who was attacked after the rally, near her house, by a pack of Muslims. She was carrying an Israeli and an American flag. She is writing up the details now and I will post them here. We are very concerned about this, both in itself and as a sign of escalating violence.

Here is her account [emphasis mine]:

"After walking home from the 42 Street & 7th Avenue Pro-Israel rally, I watched the Muslim rally participants march up 8th Avenue closely controlled by many NYC police to keep them moving along. Even so, it appeared that many of the young men and women were eyeing the bystanders on the sidewalk in threatening ways almost challenging someone to disagree with their Death to Israel and God Bless Hitler chants.

I went back to my apartment where I met my boyfriend who had also just returned from the second Pro Israel rally on 39th Street & 7th Avenue. We walked outside the building and across a major midtown avenue on the West Side to buy some groceries. He was still carrying the Israeli flag and we were both wearing baseball caps with the American flag and USA on the brims. A large number of Muslims were milling around since it seems that their rally had reached its end point and was dispersing. Six Muslim men were being photographed with posters with the words, "Praise Hamas and Hezbollah, Reopen the Ovens" and were taking photos of themselves and their posters. Seeing us with the Israel flag, they began screaming, "You're assholes, Kill the Jews, We are going to kill you, This is OUR country," etc.

We went into the corner deli and they began banging on the window and stood outside in a very threatening mob waiting for us to leave. I heard one man say, "She is a female" - very observant. I don't know what this was suppose to signal to his fellow terrorists. When we left the deli a mob of the original Muslims and others who joined them came up to us screaming death to the Jews, and one man around 19/20 years old ran up and with force and hatred threw an egg into my friend's eye. This may not seem like much but I am sure the intent was for the egg shells to be lodged in his eye. The egg was not thrown from afar against his coat but was thrown like a rock would be - to inflict as much harm as possible. The assailant then grabbed our Israeli flag, threw it to the ground, and was spitting on it and wiping his feet on it. When we asked a traffic cop to make an arrest, the assailant ran away down the block but the traffic agent did not answer us nor did he call 911. He passively stood by doing NOTHING.

Two people standing on the street took photos of our attack and said they would email us with the photos to identity the criminals. We then walked back across the street to our building and were followed by a pack of Muslims - about 8 or 10 - who continued to threaten, mock and scream at us. They seemed surprised at our ferocious counter verbal attack. However, they came right within 6 inches of us saying they would kill us. One of the men was about to attack me when my boyfriend saw the assault about to begin and said, "If you touch her, I swear I'll kill you." At that point the original traffic control cop came over and a second traffic agent joined him and forced the crowd to disperse. They asked us to go into the apartment building lobby which we did.

We immediately called the police and asked to make a police report. Two NYC policemen came to the apartment about an hour later hour and took the information. They were very courteous and said they will file the report and a detective is to contact us tomorrow. They apologized for taking so long to come by but explained that there were many incidents of a similar nature that were taking place as the Muslim rally broke up. They also shared that 2 NYC police officers had been attacked at the rally and that the Muslims are 'out of control.'

Without the photos, it will be near impossible to find the Muslims involved. Even with the photos, I am not sure if the police can find the assailant or make an arrest. I am told by an attorney friend, that just the act of following and threatening is a crime in and of itself. Whatever it takes, we'll take it as far as possible to prosecute.

Any ideas as how to pursue this would be welcome. This attack could happen to anyone. This attack happened in midtown Manhattan, a major American city on a Sunday afternoon. Our country is under attack from within. We need to do much more than attend rallies."

Btw, just to clarify something, she and her boyfriend are not Jewish.

I was at the SF demonstration today (Sat, 1/10) surrounded by Israeli flags.  Across the street, the barbarians separated from us by numerous police and about 20 yards. The venom, hatred, and lies the Hamas lovers spewed was beyond comprehension. I am convinced we truly stand alone in this madness.

"Just back home from SF, exhausted and disgusted at the vileness and stupidity of the Americans who deny thee is a problem or who support the Hamassholes and Palestinian barbarians, whom, I don't understand were not arrested for their vulgar and hateful speech!  It was appalling! I got a call from a friend who was at a Los Angeles rally last weekend...He said he and his friends had American and Israeli flags flying from their sunroofs...He said a crowd surrounded their car and prevented them from moving...they spat upon them and my friend closed his windows to prevent being spat upon...A large group of hostile Palestinian supporters continued spitting and spitting on their windshield until it was completely covered with spit..

I am too lazy to set up a Type Pad account but had to "unload" to someone.  There was a rally for Palestine in my town today - I had been vacationing and did not know about it but saw all the cops and the protesters around the park downtown where I live.  Of course it was mostly Muslims, the ladies in their headscarves and the guys with the checked cloth [keffiyeh-Atlas] around their necks, foreheads, etc but there were probably a few  peace loving Emo's in there too.

I knew there had to be some counter protesters so looked around and saw a gentleman and a lady across the street from the crowd separated by just about every cop in the city.  (Curious but the cops were all facing THEM as if they were the threat?) I asked the man if it was just them and they said there had been about 50 or so more earlier in the day but it was hard to get the word out.   He  mentioned  how End the Occupation  had organized this and we were looking across the street at the crowd facing us as he talked.  I thanked him  and then spontaneously shook his hand  (probably too spontaneous as I think I may have scratched my nose a bit before - sorry there).  Anyway, I then went on my way but just as I was off I hear behind me this mocking "Great Job, Jew", I think directed at the gentleman, and these two strapping young guys, one with a Palestinian flag draped over him, are walking behind me. 

No big deal as I just paused and let them pass and walked behind THEM.  I did not feel intimidated and did not think it was deliberate that they felt the need to leave the crowd just after I turned to go, though i was probably conspicuous as I was in such a small company --  maybe it was a coincidence.  What really struck me was that sneering  "Great Job, Jew," the thoroughly mocking tone of that voice as if assured that the worst insult he could possibly sling at someone was the word, "Jew."  (I am not Jewish myself.)  It suddenly hit me on a personal non-intellectual level what we are up against here.  Wish I could explain the feeling I got from it but it was almost like a newsreel from Germany in the 30's flashed in my head.

WASHINGTON DC: JON covered the jew hating death march: Pro-Hamas theater meets Free Republic January 10th, 2009

This afternoon in DC, at Lafayette Park, across from the White House amidst preparations for the Inauguration, several thousand protesters gathered ostensibly to show their support for Gazans. But as you can see by the flag above, it was more of an Israel Hate Fest than support for anyone.

About three blocks from Lafayette Park, in Farragut Park, I ran into a prayer session;

Inside Lafayette Park, it was interesting to see who was behind the protest;

Looking for information on the Spartacist League, an internet surfer lands on the website for the International Communist League. And they’ve got no love for President-elect Barack Obama;

Of course, I bumped into our maoist friend Brian Becker, the national coordinator of ANSWER;

On the video, you can see him tell his two friends that I’m stalking him. Paranoid little shit.

Just back from today's anti-Israel rally in DC organized by International ANSWER (aka "international losers"). 

Pam as you know this group has organized anti-war rallies around the country that have attracted tens of thousands of people...and for today's pro-Hamas rally in DC they partnered with TONS of Muslim groups as evidenced by their flyer:

This was billed as their "National March on Washington" for Gaza as they clearly hoped to get TENS of thousands to come out and demonize Israel.

Well, it was a HUGE BUST! As I watched the marchers assemble at 1 p.m., I would say there were in fact several hundred, at MOST 1,000, nowhere NEAR the "tens of thousands" they promised and they were about 99% Muslim.

But the BEST part is that NOBODY PAID ANY ATTENTION TO THEM!!!  Yes, as I walked among my fellow Americans, people were LAUGHING at the marchers and paid them NO attention whatsover...it was awesome.  They are pathetic....

There was a small counter protest at the beginning but they went away.The teen leader and his thugs were taking pictures of me.  So i waived.  Wish there would have been more counter protest.  Hard to mix it up outnumbered 1,000 to 1. I would estimate the crowd to be 800.  The demonstrators claimed 2,000.  Split the difference and call it 1,400.

Also cited by Chavis Muhammad is Imam El-Hagg Talib Abdur-Rashid of the Mosque of Islamic Brotherhood in New York, who says, "Obama has a job ahead of him of immense proportions. But so do we as Muslims in America."

"Whenever there is an advance in the consciousness of people to do away with unjustified prejudices against Islam or the Muslim community, then that is cause for hope and goodwill," Chavis Muhammad says. "With President Obama, rhetoric will translate into sustainable actions for the greater good of society."

"Beyond his name that signifies his connection to both the African and Muslim worlds, Barack Obama has demonstrated an openness and familiarity with Islam that gives Muslims hope that we will move beyond the 'clash of civilizations model,'" writes Zaheer Ali, a student at Columbia.

Ilyasah Shabazz, the daughter of Al Hajj Malik Shabazz, aka Malcolm X, says were her father alive today, he would "share everyone's joy about the prospect of returning the United States to a position of credibility, respect and leadership."

"Forty-four years after his martyrdom, he remains the most famous and recognized Muslim American, as well as a role model for men and women alike advocating for social justice," she writes.

"Forty-four years ago, the idea of an African American as president of the most powerful nation on earth – let alone president with a name that is common among Muslims – wasn't even imaginable. Yet in 2008, the people of the United States of America voted," she said.

"I believe that President Obama and the citizens of the world will also come to understand that Islam is a religion of peace and unity, which in effect, are the same ideals for which my own father advocated," she continues. 'These ideals run contrary to those of that small minority of people who have obviously strayed away from the message of the Quran and the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) when he taught that even if you absolutely have to fight, it should be avoided at all costs as a peaceful solution is better and bloodshed is abhorred by God. That even in such a case, you should display the beauty of Islam in your conduct in battle in an honorable way by adhering to the strict laws of conflict and chivalry that have been a fundamental part of the religion since the time of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) 1400 years ago."

I asked Robert Spencer for a response to this taqiya. He writes back:

The Qur'an quite clearly does teach believers to commit acts of violence against unbelievers -- see 2:190-193, 9:5, 9:29, 47:4, etc. Of course, this writer would probably respond that such passages have not been understood as marching orders for all time by all Muslims throughout history, and that is no doubt true. However, and unfortunately for the assertions made by this writer, there is not a single authoritative school of Islamic jurisprudence that does NOT teach that it is part of the obligation of the Muslim community to wage war against unbelievers and subjugate them under the rule of Islamic law.

To wit:

Shafi'i school: A Shafi'i manual of Islamic law that was certified in 1991 by the clerics at Al-Azhar University, one of the leading authorities in the Islamic world, as a reliable guide to Sunni orthodoxy, stipulates that “the caliph makes war upon Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians...until they become Muslim or pay the non-Muslim poll tax.” It adds a comment by Sheikh Nuh ‘Ali Salman, a Jordanian expert on Islamic jurisprudence: the caliph wages this war only “provided that he has first invited [Jews, Christians, and Zoroastrians] to enter Islam in faith and practice, and if they will not, then invited them to enter the social order of Islam by paying the non-Muslim poll tax (jizya)...while remaining in their ancestral religions.” ('Umdat al-Salik, o9.8).

Of course, there is no caliph today, and hence the oft-repeated claim that Osama et al are waging jihad illegitimately, as no state authority has authorized their jihad. But they explain their actions in terms of defensive jihad, which needs no state authority to call it, and becomes "obligatory for everyone" ('Umdat al-Salik, o9.3) if a Muslim land is attacked. The end of the defensive jihad, however, is not peaceful coexistence with non-Muslims as equals: 'Umdat al-Salik specifies that the warfare against non-Muslims must continue until "the final descent of Jesus." After that, "nothing but Islam will be accepted from them, for taking the poll tax is only effective until Jesus' descent" (o9.8).

Hanafi school: A Hanafi manual of Islamic law repeats the same injunctions. It insists that people must be called to embrace Islam before being fought, “because the Prophet so instructed his commanders, directing them to call the infidels to the faith.” It emphasizes that jihad must not be waged for economic gain, but solely for religious reasons: from the call to Islam “the people will hence perceive that they are attacked for the sake of religion, and not for the sake of taking their property, or making slaves of their children, and on this consideration it is possible that they may be induced to agree to the call, in order to save themselves from the troubles of war.”

However, “if the infidels, upon receiving the call, neither consent to it nor agree to pay capitation tax [jizya], it is then incumbent on the Muslims to call upon God for assistance, and to make war upon them, because God is the assistant of those who serve Him, and the destroyer of His enemies, the infidels, and it is necessary to implore His aid upon every occasion; the Prophet, moreover, commands us so to do.” (Al-Hidayah, II.140)

Maliki school: Ibn Khaldun (1332-1406), a pioneering historian and philosopher, was also a Maliki legal theorist. In his renowned Muqaddimah, the first work of historical theory, he notes that “in the Muslim community, the holy war is a religious duty, because of the universalism of the Muslim mission and (the obligation to) convert everybody to Islam either by persuasion or by force.” In Islam, the person in charge of religious affairs is concerned with “power politics,” because Islam is “under obligation to gain power over other nations.”

Hanbali school: The great medieval theorist of what is commonly known today as radical or fundamentalist Islam, Ibn Taymiyya (Taqi al-Din Ahmad Ibn Taymiyya, 1263-1328), was a Hanbali jurist. He directed that “since lawful warfare is essentially jihad and since its aim is that the religion is God’s entirely and God’s word is uppermost, therefore according to all Muslims, those who stand in the way of this aim must be fought.”

Of course, these are all extremely old authorities -- such that one might reasonably assume that whatever they say couldn’t possibly still be the consensus of the Islamic mainstream. The laws of the United States have evolved considerably since the adoption of the Constitution, which itself has been amended. So why shouldn’t this be true of Islamic law as well? Many observers assume that it must be, and that contemporary jihadists' departure from mainstream Islam must be located in its preference for the writings of ancient jurists rather than modern ones. But in this, unfortunately, they fail to reckon with the implications of the closing of the gates of ijtihad.

Ijtihad is the process of arriving at a decision on a point of Islamic law through study of the Qur’an and Sunnah. From the beginning of Islam, the authoritative study of such sources was reserved to a select number of scholars who fulfilled certain qualifications, including a comprehensive knowledge of the Qur’an and Sunnah, as well as knowledge of the principle of analogical reasoning (qiyas) by which legal decisions are made; knowledge of the consensus (ijma) on any given question of Muhammad, his closest companions, and the scholars of the past; and more, including living a blameless life. The founders of the schools of Islamic jurisprudence are among the small number of scholars -- mujtahedin -- thus qualified to perform ijithad. But they all lived very long ago; for many centuries, independent study of the Qur’an and Sunnah has been discouraged among Muslims, who are instead expected to adhere to the rulings of one of those established schools. Since the death of Ahmed ibn Hanbal, from whom the Hanbali school takes its name, in 855 A.D., no one has been recognized by the Sunni Muslim community as a mujtahid of the first class -- that is, someone who is qualified to originate legislation of his own, based on the Qur’an and Sunnah but not upon the findings of earlier mujtahedin.

Islamic scholar Cyril Glasse notes that “‘the door of ijtihad is closed’ as of some nine hundred years, and since then the tendency of jurisprudence (fiqh) has been to produce only commentaries upon commentaries and marginalia.”

Supporting Israel and Fighting the Jihad in US Cities and Towns

I just got back from the pro-HAMAS/Hezbollah rally the Muslims held (and our much smaller counter-rally) at the McNamara Federal Building in Detroit. A lot of very violent, anti-Semitic slogans were shouted, some of which I think I caught on video (am new to this). Will try to edit and put up later.

But for now, please note that once they discovered who I was--which they didn't detect for hours--the Muslims were surrounding me, wouldn't leave me alone. They also got an Egyptian Detroit Police officer to ask me to stop filming them on public property. So much for my civil rights, which the National Lawyers Guild attorneys there to "monitor the rights of Muslim-Americans" didn't seem to care about "monitoring."

The Muslim HAMAS supporters were deliberately bumping and trying to trip me, then telling police I touched them. They became more and more enraged when I wouldn't engage them and answer their questions. I feared for my life. So did the Detroit Police Department who had to escort me back to my car, so I could get away safely. One of the two gentleman DPD officers told me he feared for my safety. Many thanks to these chivalrous officers.

We had a good enthusiastic crowd of about 35 people who showed up complete with Israel and American flags and signs in downtown Detroit today. It was cold and windy but that did not matter.  Everyone was happy to stand up and shout for Israel and America.  The 'Palestinian' group was in the same complex but on the other side, separated by police.

I just got home from the Night of Solidarity at the New Orleans Jewish Community Center.  Here are my observations:

* The meeting started outside the building.  However, by the time I arrived, the group had already moved inside to an auditorium.  I estimate approx. 300 people were seated, plus maybe 25 standing on the side and in the back.  Also, there were about 17 people on the platform.  Tables were set up on one side of the room; children sat at the tables and drew pictures, while the adults had their meeting.  There was also a box for donating to Israel.

* There were a few speakers from Israel.  One in particular has lived in Sderot all his life, and he described how it was to be under constant attack.  Also, an Israeli General Consul officer spoke.  He informed us that Hamas is hijacking the aid trucks which Israel sends into Gaza, and they are then selling the supplies to the Palestinian people!

* Other speakers included the pastor of First Baptist Church of New Orleans, as well as a representative of the Coushatta Indian Tribe.  All expressed solidarity with Israel and with the Jewish people.

* Statements were read from both Louisiana US Senators, and from some of the Representatives.

* New Orleans City Council member Arnie Fielkow was on the platform, but he didn't speak (unless he spoke before I arrived).

* At the very end, we all stood up, faced the flag of Israel, and sang the Jewish anthem (I don't know the name of it).  A very moving experience.

* Several policemen were present.  There was no anti-Jewish protest or any other such action.I was disappointed that the group didn't meet on the steps of City Hall or at the State Capital building.  Still, it was a start...

I just got back from the Israel support rally here in FREEZING Ottawa. We were not allowed to bring in cameras,, so I didn't get pics. They had metal detectors at the entrance and scanned people as they came in. There was a police presence,, marked and unmarked cars, and they had men inside discretely placed throughout the Jewish Centre.

They supplied flags, and some documentation. The hall seats around 500 people,, and there were another 200 at least,, standing room only, the place was packed. There were no hamas supporters, they would not have been allowed into the hall. The people were beautiful, friendly and smiled at me when I made eye contact and smiled at them. I felt welcome in their space, and I sat one row from the front.

The Honourable John Baird,, one of our Conservative Ministers was a speaker,, and I am so happy I voted for him in my riding! This man knows the truth ..... he get's it. He said,, imagine,, if what was happening in Sderot, was happening here in Ottawa, or anywhere else in our towns and cities. He really showed the audience, that Canada and the Conservative Government,, stands with Israel. And it WAS GREAT, he gave the NDP hell for not supporting Israel. But of course the NDP has radical islamists in it so they are a LOST CAUSE!! He got a standing ovation, was a great speech!

I was very impressed when Her Excellency Miriam Ziv, Israel's Ambassador to Canada,  presented her speech. She was a fascinating speaker and I learned a lot from what she said. She also got a standing ovation.
There were other speakers,, Barbara Farber, she is President of the UIA Federations Canada. They had a man named Marty Davis, in Ashkelon, who came online, in teleconference and video and he was telling us how unbearable day to day life, is - year after year -  all they want is PEACE!!!
I felt like crying a few times when they showed a video of day to day life  in Nagev, a town  that since 2001,  has seen 10,000 hamas rockets.
I am glad I went, I even chatted with some VERY cute cops,, after,, and asked them, what the hell are we going to do, was interesting. Even though the reason we all were there  is so sad,, tragic, and just INSANE -- the vibes of the room was  LOVE, BEAUTY, WHITE and POSITIVE, and LIFE AFFIRMING!! And class. These beautiful  shiny people I had the honour of being with,  are total class, dignity,, and just really ADVANCED civilizational human Beings. And the kids were adorable, and were so well behaved,, unusual for young children to have attention spans at all. And these kids, sat straight up in their chairs, and listened quietly to the whole thing. I say KUDOS,, to the Parents of these young Canadians,, they will be amazing adults when these kids grow up!

Warning to U.S. Jewish Centers Northeast Intelligence Center (hat tip Joan)

6 January 2009: Despite official U.S. intelligence reports denying specific threat information as a result of Israeli action in Gaza, the Northeast Intelligence Network has confirmed increased terrorist “chatter” that specifically suggests pre-operational planning by Muslim terrorist operatives against Jewish assets and people throughout North America. “Chatter,” in the lexicon of intelligence agencies, encompasses various forms of communications, from communication intercepts to postings on Arabic language message boards.

Investigators and researchers of the Northeast Intelligence Network have seen a dramatic spike in postings on Arabic language web sites used by Islamic terrorists within the last several days. The rise of these communications is obviously in direct relation to Israel’s actions launched against Islamic terrorists in Gaza. Investigators however, have observed a disturbing change not only in the tenor of these postings, but in their specificity.

“The message being sent by Muslim terrorists considered ‘reputable’ Internet sources, as much as one could consider such sources as ‘reputable,’ is one of individual, if not collective action across the globe,” stated Douglas J. Hagmann, director of the Northeast Intelligence Network. “There is a call to action being made over the Internet by posters who have established a perceived level of legitimacy. These posters are the individuals who have achieved a following in the virtual world, based in part on their history of accuracy relative to terrorist operations and their posting history. Their message is to take action against Jews anywhere in the world, including inside the U.S., Canada and all Western countries, as well as their American backers,” stated Hagmann.

Although the intelligence value of the majority of Internet postings can be reasonably questioned, there have been notable exceptions, and it continues to be an accurate indicator of the pre-operational interests of Islamic terrorists, according to Hagmann.

“The call is to strike out against Jewish places of worship, Jewish centers, and schools, especially in the U.S.,” said Doug Hagmann. He added that the more recent postings have risen from “rallying cries to the level of authoritative directions, with the admonishment that it is the moral imperative of all practicing and faithful Muslims to strike out against the Jews, especially those living within the relative security of the U.S. I’m not sure how much more specific of a threat one might expect to get from Internet postings,” added Hagmann.

“Anyplace where Jews gather for school, worship services or social events are being described as “desirable targets,” according to these communications. Emphasis is also being placed on body count and visible carnage, including attacks against children.

Concurrent with these Internet postings on the same terrorist web sites are those of a political nature. Hagmann stated that researchers have found a consistent theme among those who voice support for HAMAS and not just for the residents of Gaza. “To the ‘reputable authors’ of these Internet web sites, there is absolutely no distinction between Palestinians living in Gaza and HAMAS. In fact, there seems to be a push for Gaza residents who are not already doing so to support HAMAS in any way possible, from providing supplies and shelter to taking a more active role.

From reporters to ‘Middle East expert talking heads,’ the media is not portraying this situation accurately, a fact that has not gone unnoticed by terrorist supporters, especially in the West. We are seeing a growing solidarity among Muslims of all sects to rally behind what is being described as the “slaughter” of Palestinians by the Israelis. Featured prominently within these communications are reports by Western media sources such as CNN, MSNBC and the major television networks that feature video of alleged Gaza victims. Such footage is being used to inflame the sentiments of the readers of the Arabic websites, followed by instructions to readers of all Islamic sects to avenge the deaths of Muslims in Gaza.

LOS ANGELES (JTA) — Police in California are investigating as hate crimes the posting of anti-Israel and pro-Hamas placards at two synagogues.

Three letter-sized, hand-written signs were discovered Tuesday at Beth Jacob, an Orthodox congregation in Irvine, Calif. One poster proclaimed, “Gaza– The New Shoah” and a second read, “Hamas Recognizes Israeli Genocide.”

Similar posters were found on the same day at the nearby Reform Congregation Shir Ha-Ma’alot.

DAY FOUR: Free Free ‘Fakestinians’ Assault the streets of Manhattan. Today they were marching to the Israeli ‘mission’ (isn’t that cute). Not the Israeli Consulate.The Left continues to rewrite history. An outrage? You bet.

A crowd of 3,000 maybe 4,000 filled their assigned pens on Broadway  but they also chose to spill on to the sidewalks. As always, the leftists do what they want by fiat because the police simply can’t rope them all in…so …as long as they aren’t rioting…they roam the streets with their offensive signs and flags. Little parades on the sidewalks and in the crosswalks: constantly.

However, WE….the Pro-Israel Patriots  are penned in…even those who were trying to pass out informational flyers with the FACTS, the TRUTH were penned in. Also, trying to take a picture of the Pro-Israel side AGAIN was complicated by the police stepping into the pictures. This happened to other photographers on our side. Not just to this photographer. The police are controlling US…Not them? Why?! Why no pictures?

The hate-Israel crowd is very confident. they own the streets. I was told to ‘get out of here’ and I was flipped off and cursed each time I said “Long Live Israel’. One of our group was shoved in the face because(as a woman of color) she had no right to support Israel.. There was a bit of fun at the N/W corner of 42nd  and 7th Ave. I caught  two of our Patriots staying on-the-streets with the wandering ‘fakestinians’…It was wonderful to see them hang close and tight with their Pro- ISRAEL message forced among their Hate-Israel messages.

 

Then the March. When it began there was a HUGE uproar (planned in my opinion for the photographers). The march began, turned onto 42^nd street and a ‘pali’woman came screaming at the cops that the march was NOT to start yet. She was in charge and to STOP the march. Her people came and surrounded the officers in charge…then more officers came and surrounded her people and she kept demanding the march stop. Lots of yelling and confusion and  lots of pictures and film rolled taking in this situation…and of course…now the traffic was blocked. Finally…the cops said they were to move and the march continued.

42^nd street was a long march. Traffic at each avenue had to be able to pass, so this very large crowd would go through intersections in groups. Five large groups I think passed through slowly at Sixth Avenue as they passed Bryant Park.. Turning at Third Avenue. Going uptown to 48^th and then back down 2nd Avenue. When we arrived, a valiant few of our Pro-Israel patriots were at 2^nd Ave and 42^nd. It was great to see them. But, we are out-numbered. WHY?!

The ‘palis’ made a very BIG show for all of Manhattan to see….lots and lots of muslims….lots and lots of ‘fakestinian’ scarves…Is this our future? As Europe goes…What’s next for us. Be Afraid, America!

In Paris, police said more than 20,000 demonstrators, many wearing Palestinian keffiyeh headscarves, marched through the city center chanting slogans like "Israel murderer!" and waving banners demanding an end to the air attacks.

Nidra Poller is a rare bird in Paris - a "reliable witness". Here is her account of the pro jihadi, annihilationist rally in Paris. I must ask her if Jews stayed shuttered in their homes, afraid to leave for fear of the savages .....

Huge turnout for this afternoon’s pro-Palestinian demonstration. People pour out of the metro stations and march into the Place de la République, bundled up against the cold, knotting keffiehs around their shoulders as they walk briskly to join the compact crowd. Raucous voices shouting “Israël assassin.” Palestinian flags flutter. Families with children, men and women of all ages, very very few infidels. When these mass demonstrations began in October 2000, the proportions were reversed: many leftists, so-called pacifists, and a sprinkling of Arab-Muslims. And the rallying cry was “Death to the Jews.”

Two infidels timidly waving blue and white peace flags huddle near a metro exit looking hesitant. 

“Nous sommes tous Palestiniens” “Palestine vaincra, Palestine vivra” “Halte au massacre” …the usual stuff. And all those keffiehs.

The square trembles with hate-filled violence-prone voices, and the flow of demonstrators never ends. Take a good look: these are the moderates. Huh? The moderates? Yeah, the moderates. Don’t they always tell us the majority of Muslims in Paris, London, Alexandria VA, and the world are moderates? Well here they are.

A dark skinned white haired chap with the airs of a European intellectual, a red keffieh wrapped around his neck, chats with a woman by his side. They look like they are waiting for friends to join them. I hear him say “assassins,” and I know he isn’t talking about Hamas.

It doesn’t look like the demonstration is going to follow the traditional République-Bastille route. Either they are going to stay put and shout their lungs out, or maybe they’ll march down the Grands Boulevards?

Anyway, it’s no place for a little Jewish grandmother. I’ve seen enough. I walk south and in five minutes I’m out of the Arab quarter and back in the ville européenne where life goes on as normal. Back home, I check out the media. What do they have to say about this madding crowd?

Guess what? They have nothing to say. If you didn’t see it with your own eyes you wouldn’t know it existed. There’ll be a few brief shots on the evening news. A family with kids, a pretty young lady, a few talking points—massacre of civilians, blockade, humanitarian crisis, starvation. You’d think that all those French journalists frustrated at not being able to mill around Gaza and report directly on Israeli atrocities didn’t take the opportunity to immerse themselves in Gaza at la République. Snuggled into that mass of dense anger, surrounded on all sides by “youths” in keffieh, they could have a try at yelling “ceasefire” in a crowded pro-jihad mob.

Update 10 PM Nidra Poller

You have to scratch around in the dusty soil to get a few kernels of information in this country. After watching 3 newscasts and checking out the major daily’s websites, here is what I got:

There were about 21,000 demonstrators and the atmosphere was tense. As a matter of fact, there was not much in the way of newswoman-in-the-midst interviews. Like I said, they claim they want to get into Gaza to bear witness to all that humanitarian crisis, but they don’t have the courage to dive into a keffieh-clad crowd.  Le Parisien, which is the only paper that really covered the event, claims it was organized by the Collectif national pour une paix juste entre Palestiniens et Israéliens, which includes the MRAP, PCF, LCR, and some labor unions. I have no proof to the contrary but I don’t believe it anyway. Having seen hundreds of demonstrations in Paris, I can attest that this one looked like it was organized by the Paris branch of Hamas.

Two extreme-left personalities marched in front like the good old days. Communist (PCF) party leader Marie-George Buffet declared: “We must stop this attack against Gaza and go back to negotiations on the basis of the 1967 frontiers [sic…it’s the ceasefire line, madame]. Olivier Besancenot (Nouveau Parti Anticapitaliste, ex-LCR) said French public opinion  is not represented by Sarkozy, who rolled out the red carpet for Israeli officials [Tzipi Livni paid a visit to politely decline the ceasefire proposal].

At 6 PM, a group of two to three hundred heading for the Israeli embassy were blocked by police. They went wild, threw café chairs at the policemen, smashed telephone booths and shop windows, overturned and burned cars. The battle raged for an hour. “At least 3 people,” reports le Parisien, “were arrested.” How’s that for a law & order ratio?

In a private communication from J.S., an envoy reports:

When we got there at 3 PM the square on the side leading to the Grands Boulevards was already packed. We walked all the way down to Porte Saint-Martin. The demonstrators marched in tight rows in the street and spilling over onto the sidewalk, most of them wearing keffiehs, many women in different degrees of hijab.. 

Shouting their hatred of Israel that kills children, starves Palestinians. Up with the résistance, down with Sarkozy, Moubarak, and the media.

A  crowd filled with hate that filled us with fear. Most of them were young.

Groups prostrate in prayer on the sidewalk.

Slogans shouted through megaphones, chanted by the crowd. Photos of children, a bloodied doll, a flag burning…

When we left at 4 PM, people were still joining the march.

It was so frightening, that dense crowd shouting and screaming, just like the crowds we see on TV !

Pro-Israel vs. Pro-Palestine Protests in Chicago

A very large Pro-Palestine protest was mounted in Chicago today, with participants being bused in from other cities and states (we heard one organizer gathering people who “were on the bus from Milwaukee”). Jake covered a similar but much smaller protest earlier in the week.

Today was definitely the main event — the Hamas supporters gathered in front of Chicago’s famous Tribune Building, then marched across the Chicago River and around the corner to the Israeli Consulate. A good-sized crowd was already in place across the street to offer their support for Israel.

We wandered around in both crowds taking pics and video for a while. We had our press ID badges on, but were still told we had to “choose a side” when the loonies got ready to begin their march to the Israeli consulate. The police hustled us off behind their barricades post haste…just in case you were wondering if bloggers are still largely considered to be “second class journalists” — the answer is YES!

Jake will have video up after a while. Until then, I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves, for the most part, and keep my witty commentary to a minimum.

DEARBORN – Several thousand demonstrators marched, chanted and waved flags, signs and banners along Warren Avenue in Dearborn on Tuesday, protesting Israeli airstrikes in Gaza that have killed more than 370 people since Saturday, including at least 64 civilians, according to U.N. figures.

Protestors stretched from Chase Road to Schaefer Road on the north side of Warren, chanting "One, two, three, four, stop the killing, stop the war," "Free, free Palestine," and "Bush and Olmert, you can’t hide, you are guilty of genocide!"

While the crowd included primarily Arab Americans from Dearborn and Hamtramck, Jewish peace groups from Ann Arbor and diverse activists’ groups from Detroit and other cities also participated.

Those are not Jewish groups. They are leftard groups allowing the Jew to be exploited. Where those same "jewish groups" protesting the thousands of missiles into Gaza? Ot the sexual mutilation and murder of the Rabbi and his pregnant wife?

This march is Muslims and dhimmis. Period. It's all about Islamic jew hatred.

The Bloomfield Hills-based Jewish Community Relations Council has expressed support for the Israeli strikes on Gaza, calling the campaign "a measure of self-defense," in response to rocket attacks into Southern Israel

"That’s exactly what we need. This isn’t just an Arab issue. It’s a human rights issue," said Suhaib Al-Hanooti, a student activist who helped organize the gathering.

How about a Jewish right to live issue? Or is that not human rights related?

Jihad sympathizers expressed suprise that the media turned out.  "Hopefully it will have an effect –and it helps people get their frustrations out."

Of course there is media.  One angry muslim can bring out all the news nets. But if you are a Jew or a scholar like Robert Spencer, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, Walid Phares, Ibn Warraq, Andrew Bostom - NO MEDIA FOR YOU! Media is so afraid of Islamic violence they censor themselves.

"We’re out here supporting the Arab American community. We believe in what they’re fighting for… What Israel is doing is racist. We have to put a stop to this," said BAMN organizer Xavier Carr, of Detroit.

Islam is a religion. Not a race (wrong pamphlet from victimized group number 3).

That’s how South African apartheid fell," Newash said.

He said large, loud demonstrations also facilitate the influence of community leaders on government leadership.

Across the street was an anemic counter protest. Where were the Jewish kids? NOWHERE. Jewish leadership and the diaspora have failed miserably in the education of our youth. The entire Muslim rally was young, wild -- frenetic. Itchy fingers on hair triggers.

Jewish lay leadership should be thrown out on the dhimmi asses. They have failed an entire generation of slackers.

"Israel is a terrorist state!" Screaming, yelling, very ugly .... police were not prepared. At one point the Muslims broke out crossed the street and confronted the 18 Jewish and Israel lovers across the street (watch the video, I caught part of it).

Someone tell this asshat that Israel has been sending truckloads of humanitarian aid into Gazastan.

....our Defence Dept who said they have access to telephone nos. in Gaza and beginning two days ago began calling the Arab population of Gaza in areas where the Israel Air Force was going to bomb and left messages in Arabic telling them to get out, since their gov't, led by Hamas, had placed strategic weapons and ammunition in their area and Israel was forced to destroy it to protect it's citizens.

First, let me say that the idea of placing ammunition and weapons among it's citizenry is a violation of human rights and the UN. This is something the Arab gov'ts have been doing in just about every war with Israel. Hamas is among the most uncaring and even among it's citizenry that supports them they have used their homes and living space to store ammunition and weapons. Hezbullah in Lebanon did the same thing.

The other point I want to make is that we have been extremely careful to avoid civilian casualties and when was the last time in the history of warfare that any gov't called it's enemy populations and told them to get out since their areas were targeted and tried to protect civilians. To my knowledge this is a first.

I don't think you'll see this story in the popular western press. But it did happen and is happening here. On two different occasions in the past two days  I personally heard on radio that our gov't thru the ministry made more than 90,000 telephone calls per day to Gaza residents warning them that their specific area was targeted.

There were more of them than us and a few incidents where if the LAPD had not been there, it could have become ugly. The rhetoric of 'Fakenstinians' is typically ugly. They were screaming for 'Jews and Christians to get out of Palestine', and one Pali man in his 60s told my friend 'Hitler Should Have Finished off the Job'. ( I won't tell you what she told him, but he was in shock). So many LAPD were there, including the riot police. It's says a lot about who they are when most of the cops and riot people were posted on 'their' side. Also, as the Pali's rode by in their cars, they shouted 'Fuck You, Fuck you Jews' (which shows their limited intelligence). Of course we were also called 'pigs', 'dogs' accused of 'Genocide' (very rich coming from them). They are just looking for a violent fight and confrontation. Someone on our side had to call the police to come and protect us as they tried to come over to our side and start something. Amazing, that we as Jews are facing such vile hate in L.A. in America. Wish I had a camcorder. Glad we went. Next time we need to be larger and louder

Thanks for the info on the planned CAIR rallies.  I attended the one in Tampa, Fl this evening.  

For 2 hours today, I experienced a little bit of what it is like to be Israel, surrounded by a mob who hates you.   

Arriving at the site, and surveying the lay of the land, I decided to stand with two fellows wrapped in the Jewish flag, across the street from about 200 "anti Israel" protesters. That was it, me the two jewish guys and one muslim on one side of the street and a whole sea of Palestinian flags, megaphones and mania on the other side. I am a Christian, and was warmly welcomed by my new Jewish friends, and coldly received by the lone "anti Israel" protester on our side of Dale Mabry highway.

This guy really wanted to argue with me, which I refused to do, and I finally shut him up when I asked him if he had been out protesting the death of thousands of Americans on 9/12 or was he dancing in the streets? He muttered something about "you must pay, America must pay and the Jews must pay" and ambled away.

Their side send several instigators to "our side" to try to intimidate us. A few young men even came and swiped one of the Jewish flags right out of the guys hands. He bravely went across the street to retrieve it, God bless him, and finally a cop got it for him.

I guess standing on the street and holding a sign wasn't enough "action" for these folks, so a whole "contingent" of young men and women marched across the street towards us. Three teenage girls came and stood right in front of me, to block my sign - I just stepped back and held it higher. We were quickly surrounded by this mob of protesters "for peace" - yelling and chanting at us, and telling us we were "outnumbered" and to go home. That's when it occurred to me that this is EXACTLY what Israel is like - surrounded by a mob of people so hyped up on emotion and inaction and frustration, that they have to find someone to blame, to target, to hate. This mob decided to hate us. This mob, holding up signs that said "honk for peace", could not stand the fact that 3 people stood across the street from them and disagreed with them.

I heard one of the "leaders" attempt to calm this mob down and move them back over to their side of the street to no avail - the young men, and girls were determined to scare us away. They ignored the leader, and even said

"This is American and it's a free country, I can stand wherever I want to". Imagine that! One teenage girl ripped a protester sign out of his hands, two others screamed in an older lady's face, all the while the entire crowed of them swarming in and around us, chanting, pounding their fist in the air and spewing hatred.

It wasn't until Tampa's finest (most in plain clothes) showed their badges that the crowd began to make their way back across the street. It wasn't until a SHOW OF FORCE other than their own leader, who tried in vain to calm them, broke up this mob. I would venture to say that if the police weren't there, we would have all been seriously beaten by this gang of "honk if you love peace" protesters.

I don't know why I was compelled to go today, it was something that I could not not do. Perhaps God wanted me to see what His children are suffering with. To have so many hate you for simply being you, for being faithful, and for standing for God.

I was told point blank, that I must "pay", that America must "pay" and that the Jews must "pay" by one of these "honk if you love peace" protesters. I am reminded, that I am always forgiven even when I didn't do anything wrong.

Very few surprises at tonight's ANSWER-sponsored demonstration outside San Francisco's Israeli consulate. The public needs to know, however, real details about the event that the mainstream media (despite their several network trucks, light poles, and cameramen) may ignore.

The Numbers Game: Pro-Israel activists, no matter how principled and committed, were heavily outnumbered by pro-Pali activists by about 4 (or 5) to 1. The Pali-crowd owned one side of the street, while the side with Israelis was about evenly divided among partisans. The radical left-wing site Indybay claimed that thousands turned out for Palestine – that's bunk – there were hundreds, maybe 500, and maybe 100 for Israel.

The Logistics Game: Pro-Pali people had mounted speakers, bullhorns, professionally printed banners and signs (I ended up standing next to the guy who'd printed the signs – the ABC News affiliate filmed us talking to each other), flags (including a Pali flag with the al-Aqsa mosque printed on its white field) and even war drums. Pro-Israeli people had pre-printed signs, many big Israeli flags, and a shofar – all good, but the Palis had the bigger and more portentous act.

The Propaganda Game: The Palis employed all too common slander and very calculated sloganeering to manipulate their several cases. This is key: they were present not merely to protest the Israeli campaign in Gaza, but to present a public face for "FREE PALESTINE!", for "The Right of Return", to "Free The Jena 6" (which some signs described as a "Legal Lynching"). Important to note is the Palis' sense of inevitability: "VICTORY IS OURS!" This includes their case against the US as well as against Israel. One common sign urged to "Stop the US-Israeli Genocide."

Solidarity vs. Solitary: If non-Jews came out to show solidarity with the Jewish State, they didn't show their colors, but non-Palis visibly stepped up to the plate for their pet cause. An average-looking American carried a Hamas flag on a tall pole (he has no direct ties with Hamas – I asked him); an Episcopalian contingent draped a large banner over the police barricade; so did ANSWER. The latter two were on the Pali-owned side, which suggests pre-event planning. An hour into the rally, an aggressive spokeswoman took the bullhorn for the Pali side: she was Asian-American looking and kicked off her remarks with a shrill "Brothers and sisters!" This is par for the course in San Francisco, but anyone who considers himself pro-Israel should note that, by appearances, not one non-Jewish individual or organization dared share sidewalk space with Jews. How existential.

Small world: At one point I found myself alongside Osha Neumann. Osha's a longtime Berkeley radical lawyer, a self-described artist, and a veteran of the 60s anarchist groupuscule, The Motherfuckers. He's also author of the recently-published Up Against the Wall, Motherf**ker, a memoir of going from liberal Jewish kid with a graduate degree from Yale to the more daring fringes of American radicalism. in the book he renounces nothing, but he does admit some of the more bizarre and dangerous elements of modern American radicalism (e.g., willingly submitting to totalitarian organizational structures, submitting oneself to "criticism" in order to become a better radical, etc.).

Most of the Israel activists were young, under 30 & teens.

We were ringed by police, but we were on State Department property in downtown DC, not everyone there was protesting. I saw at least one panhandler fleecing the crowd.

And it was several hundred people






At five o’clock some of them prayed, but certainly a small portion of them. I guess that’s as deep as most of them took those shouts of “God is great” I heard.

The most important thing is to listen to the rhetoric and lies in the videos. Notice there are very few Palestinians, very few Arabs speaking. The Arab Community, like IVAW, like every other group of “victims” are being used by the anti-war community to work us all up into a lather. But you can see that for yourself.

We are terribly civil here in the Pacific NW, so it was me and my large Israeli flag in uneventful, solitary solidarity with 25-ish 'anti-violence' folks. Well, we had a pro-Palestinian/anti-Zionist demonstration here in Dearborn this afternoon.  This happens every once in a while whenever somebody other than Israel gets bombed.

     It was quite well attended by Palestinian supporters (who in Dearborn are chiefly Lebanese).

     So I made my presence known on the other side of the street.  Which was not easy, since I was the only one over on that side.    

I have to ask, where were my brothers and sisters who believe in the peace that the gospel of Christ brings?  Where were my friends who support Israel's right to exist?

     We cannot and must not be afraid to bring truth to the forefront.

Just wanted to add my take on the confronting of  savages in S.F. If it was pandemonium elsewhere it was absolute anarchy and  mob rule in S.F. The last such rally I attended the police managed to separate the two sides. Yesterday, they just swarmed over to our side, the inept police just standing idly by. Outraged,  I asked several police why they are allowing it, and they replied that I'm obviously not a native San Franciscan, where everything goes and nothing can be.prevented.  It was revolting to watch some of these barbarians intimidate some of the frail, elderly Pro-Israeli supporters. I almost got into a fight coming to the defense of one such lady. When I suggested  rearranging the cowardly Pali's face, he made as though he was calling to the police. My wife eventually  convinced me to leave as I was becoming more and more agitated  and couldn't contain myself any longer. Being 6' 2" and 210, I'm no pushover, but suffering from chronic sciatica due to a  back condition, I didn't want to chance   being attacked by a wave  of hyenas. Walking back to Market the main thoroughfare in S.F to catch a bus home, my wife noticed throngs of savages making there way up Market towards us. I noticed the presence of S.F Commandos and thought they were there to prevent the Pali's from disrupting the rush hour traffic.and otherwise causing mayhem throughout the city.  Apparently they were there to contain any possible violence. I again approached several officers asking how they could permit this clearly illegal march to take place. They replied they were inept  to do anything as the head dhimmi at City Hall, Gavin Newsome had given them free reign. Unbelievable...So basically an entire city was held hostage to a band of thugs, because the powers that be were intimidated into acquiescence. As it goes in S.F. so it goes the world over. Very scary shit, when even my habitually indifferent scientist-academic wife, finally admitted that my forebodings as to Stealth Jihad are in fact very real. Anyhow next time I'll be better prepared with my sign which would read, " Anti-Israel Jew Hating is none other than " The Swollen Envy of Pygmy Minds" ( Mark Twain). I think this curt saying says all that needs to be said.

UPDATE: Albuquerque Anti/Pro Israel Rallies

Noticeable at these anti-Israel protests as compared with protests of earlier years was the vocal presence of local Arabs from Israel, the many kefiyehs and Palestinian flags, and the rowdiness of the young people and young adults. Evidently they feel more confident now than in previous years, or have moved out from under the council of prudence. Perhaps conditions are such that they are moving into phase II or III of a plan. The honking of passers-by to show support was much more frequent than in earlier years, and many of the drivers were Muslim, but more weren’t.

Anti-Israel sentiment is growing in Albuquerque in main part because it is growing throughout the world and the US, and has become socially acceptable. To most of the public, anti-Israel and anti-Jewish are synonyms. The bigotry has also been growing in part because the local “pro-Palestinian” groups have been active for years, patiently and successfully working to produce this sentiment in schools, the university, the media, local government and the public at large. Indeed, some synagogues and Jewish leaders have promoted this movement.

At the evening protest, two passers-by joined me with my lone pro-Israel sign, and we held up an Israeli flag and took the harrassment of the Arab young people together, which made us stronger, even later, when there were only two women. None of us knew each other, but the two supporters were both Messianic. Coincidence? To us, Messianics seem strange, but many have courage and conviction in this matter, that others lack.

Because I was the only Jew with a Pro-Israel sign at the anti-Israel protests, I got my picture taken and got interviewed three times. I doubt my statements were aired. My statements that Israel is right to attack Gaza, and if the Arabs of Gaza are suffering, they brought it on themselves by electing and supporting genocidal terrorist leaders, is socially unacceptable in polite gentile society. Indeed, it is unacceptable in polite Jewish society, but it is true.

At these protests I saw a stridency and rowdiness in the Arabs who showed up, that was not apparent in earlier protests. I saw that the majority of passers-by were either active supporters of their view, or non-committal. While we pep-rallied privately in the the JCC, with security, the public was turned a shade more against us, and we had no effective response.

The protest was arranged by the Atlanta International Center. They had a permit from 4-5:30pm to demonstrate in front of the Israeli consulate which is in midtown Atlanta. Car traffic was heavy the entire time, and there was a constant flow of people into the demonstration. Women were coming with their young children in strollers and older people wrapped in kefiyahs came and set up chairs.

Representatives from CAIR were there as well as the student movements of Students for Justice in Palestine at Georgia Tech and Emory Advocates for Justice in Palestine. At 5:30pm they made an announcement that they must leave the premises, so they marched into the street -- walking in the opposite flow of traffic -- shutting down the street entirely and establishing themselves about 1/4 mile away.   

There were about 4 cops from the Atlanta police department ensuring people's safety: staying on the sidewalks and crossing the street. About a block away there were about a dozen police on motorcycles. The cops I talked to said they were there in case there was a counter protest. As I found out afterwards, there were also undercover, plain-clothes police officers around the entire time.

Local media were there as well and there was at least one local channel (NBC affiliate) which interviewed people for their 6pm broadcast.

I have no idea why there was no counter protest planned. I only found out about it through the Muslim Student Association at Georgia Tech the night before, so there's was no time to arrange anything.

There was a big press conference earlier in the day with the ambassador and the incident involving Cynthia McKinney. But, as far as I know, no one commented on the pro-hamas rally specifically.

The concept of child workers or slaves is nothing new to Islamic countries such as Yemen, Egypt, and in parts of Africa. Some of these children have to work because of poor economic conditions, others are forced to work and many are beaten to work harder. They are basically treated no better than slaves.

Now American Muslims are once again bringing part of the Islamic culture here. As more and more cases of children being imported here to work are being reported. "Something of Historic Proportion is Happening"

A reader comment over at Dollard's place nails it. Plain and simple .... and true. This is what I see. I wish I had written it. (hat tip mg)

I am a student of history. Professionally. I have written 15 books in six languages, and have studied it all my life. I think there is something monumentally large afoot, and I do not believe it is just a banking crisis, or a mortgage crisis, or a credit crisis. Yes these exist, but they are merely single facets on a very large gemstone that is only now coming into a sharper focus.

Something of historic proportions is happening. I can sense it because I know how it feels, smells, what it looks like, and how people react to it. Yes, a perfect storm may be brewing, but there is something happening within our country that has been evolving for about ten - fifteen years. The pace has dramatically quickened in the past two.

We demand and then codify into law the requirement that our banks make massive loans to people we know they can never pay back? Why?

We learn just days ago that the Federal Reserve, which has little or no real oversight by anyone, has “loaned” two trillion dollars (that is $2,000,000,000,000) over the past few months, but will not tell us to whom or why or disclose the terms. That is our money. Yours and mine. And that is three times the 700B we all argued about so strenuously just this past September. Who has this money? Why do they have it? Why are the terms unavailable to us? Who asked for it? Who authorized it? I thought this was a government of “we the people,” who loaned our powers to our elected leaders. Apparently not.

We have spent two or more decades intentionally de-industrializing our economy. Why?

We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional, and why we are worth preserving. Students by and large cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing, school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why?

We have now established the precedent of protesting every close election (now violently in California over a proposition that is so controversial that it wants marriage to remain between one man and one woman. Did you ever think such a thing possible just a decade ago?). We have corrupted our sacred political process by allowing unelected judges to write laws that radically change our way of life, and then mainstream Marxist groups like ACORN and others to turn our voting system into a banana republic. To what purpose?

Now our mortgage industry is collapsing, housing prices are in free fall, major industries are failing, our banking system is on the verge of collapse, social security is nearly bankrupt, as is medicare and our entire government, our education system is worse than a joke (I teach college and know precisely what I am talking about)–the list is staggering in its length, breadth, and depth. It is potentially 1929 x ten. And we are at war with an enemy we cannot name for fear of offending people of the same religion, who cannot wait to slit the throats of your children if they have the opportunity to do so.

And now we have elected a man no one knows anything about, who has never run so much as a Dairy Queen, let alone a town as big as Wasilla, Alaska. All of his associations and alliances are with real radicals in their chosen fields of employment, and everything we learn about him, drip by drip, is unsettling if not downright scary (Surely you have heard him speak about his idea to create and fund a mandatory civilian defense force stronger than our military for use inside our borders? No? Oh of course. The media would never play that for you over and over and then demand he answer it. Sarah Palin’s pregnant daughter and $150,000 wardrobe is more imporant.)

Mr. Obama’s winning platform can be boiled down to one word: change.

Why?

I have never been so afraid for my country and for my children as I am now.

This man campaigned on bringing people together, something he has never, ever done in his professional life. In my assessment, Obama will divide us along philosophical lines, push us apart, and then try to realign the pieces into a new and different power structure. Change is indeed coming. And when it comes, you will never see the same nation again.

And that is only the beginning.

And I thought I would never be able to experience what the ordinary, moral German felt in the mid-1930s. In those times, the savior was a former smooth-talking rabble-rouser from the streets, about whom the average German knew next to nothing. What they did know was that he was associated with groups that shouted, shoved, and pushed around people with whom they disagreed; he edged his way onto the political stage through great oratory and promises. Economic times were tough, people were losing jobs, and he was a great speaker. And he smiled and waved a lot. And people, even newspapers, were afraid to speak out for fear that his “brown shirts” would bully them into submission. And then, he was duly elected to office, a full-throttled economic crisis at hand [the Great Depression]. Slowly but surely he seized the controls of government power, department by department, person by person, bureaucracy by bureaucracy. The kids joined a Youth Movement in his name, where they were taught what to think. How did he get the people on his side? He did it promising jobs to the jobless, money to the moneyless, and goodies for the military-industrial complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in the country, across Europe, and across the world.

He did it with a compliant media–did you know that? And he did this all in the name of justice and . . . change. And the people surely got what they voted for.

(Look it up if you think I am exaggerating.)

Read your history books. Many people objected in 1933 and were shouted down, called names, laughed at, and made fun of. When Winston Churchill pointed out the obvious in the late 1930s while seated in the House of Lords in England (he was not yet Prime Minister), he was booed into his seat and called a crazy troublemaker. He was right, though.

Don’t forget that Germany was the most educated, cultured country in Europe. It was full of music, art, museums, hospitals, laboratories, and universities. And in less than six years–a shorter time span than just two terms of the U. S. presidency–it was rounding up its own citizens, killing others, abrogating its laws, turning children against parents, and neighbors against neighbors. All with the best of intentions, of course. The road to Hell is paved with them.

As a practical thinker, one not overly prone to emotional decisions, I have a choice: I can either believe what the objective pieces of evidence tell me (even if they make me cringe with disgust); I can believe what history is shouting to me from across the chasm of seven decades; or I can hope I am wrong by closing my eyes, having another latte, and ignoring what is transpiring around me.

Some people scoff at me, others laugh, or think I am foolish, naive, or both. Perhaps I am. But I have never been afraid to look people in the eye and tell them exactly what I believe–and why I believe it.

I pray I am wrong. I do not think I am.

SEYMOUR HERSH US COVERT OPS IN IRAN: CNNS "WINKS, NODS, AND HINTS"

How disgusting is CNN, the Crescent News Network? As vile and seditious as Seymour Hersh, tireless Iranian operative aka New Yorker correspondent. And Hersh is just soooooooo credible. Remember Hersh's last breaking Iran story back April 2006 where he proclaimed a US attack on Iran was imminent? Of course CNN failed to mention that in their groundbreaking report based on (and I quote) "winks, nods, and hints" from government sources. Hersh, author of Chain of Command: The Road From 9/11 to Abu Ghraib (need I say more)?

I am sure it's the same government sources that leaked the bogus secret prison nonsense. The leftards busy at work at our agencies, infiltration at the highest levels, working feverishly to defeat America. Hersh sleeps with these dogs. Here's his report.

More poisonous fruit from the misinformation and miseducation of Americans concerning Islam.  The lone jihadi who gunned down helpless Jews in cold blood  at the Jewish Center in Seattle was acting in the name of Islam. And yet the jury acquitted him on one charge and was  "hopelessly deadlocked" on the other charges. He chased a Jewish woman down the stairwell as she ran for her life - he killed her. The jury was deadlocked on jihad or mental illness.

This mistrial is an OUTRAGE. Based on this premise,  every Muslim that engages in jihad is insane? This lone jihadi was following the dictates of the Koran. Bostom's book, The Legacy of Islamic Antisemitism ought to be mandatory reading and listening as well. It's in the koran.

This Muslim was just following orders. The West is lost in a sea of mendacity. Killing Jews is as crime against humanity. Shame on this terrible jury. When it happens to non-believers, infidels, and kufirs close to them, they will weep bitter tears.

Mistrial in case of Seattle Jewish center shooter  AP hat tip Davida

SEATTLE - A mistrial has been declared for the man accused of the 2006 shootings at a Seattle Jewish center that left a woman dead and five others wounded.

Jurors had indicated in questions posed to the judge that they were hopelessly deadlocked over whether Naveed Haq was not guilty by reason of insanity as he claims. The judge declared a mistrial Wednesday on the eighth day of deliberations.

Prosecutors say they will retry Haq on murder and attempted murder charges. Jurors acquitted him of one of the 15 counts against him.

Haq held a teenage girl at gunpoint to force his way into the Jewish Federation of Greater Seattle on July 28, 2006. Once in the office he began railing against U.S. policies and opened fire. Pamela Waechter was killed as she fled down a stairwell.

All Things Considered, May 27, 2008 · Although polygamy is illegal in the U.S. and most mosques try to discourage plural marriages, [that's NPR's opinion - they do not substantiate it in any way. No one knows how many Muslims in the U.S. live in polygamous families. But according to academics researching the issue, estimates range from 50,000 to 100,000 people.

Polygamy is freely practiced in parts of Africa, and almost every one of the women in the group has experienced polygamy firsthand – either as a wife in a plural marriage or having been raised in families with one father who has two or more wives.

Group member Sarah says that in her native Guinea, the husband springs it on his wife that he's going to marry someone else. Sarah, like the others interviewed for this story, would give only her first name.

"Sometimes he say, 'OK, I am going to be married tomorrow,' or 'I'm going to be married today.' He's going ask you like that. It happened to me," she says.

Sarah begins to cry. Others nod in sympathy. These women are all Muslim. The Koran states that men may marry up to four women. The Prophet Mohammad had multiple wives.

Invisible Lives

Still, Muslims practice polygamy in the U.S., despite state laws prohibiting it.

Here's how a man gets around the laws: He marries one woman under civil law, and then marries one, two or three others in religious ceremonies that are not recognized by the state. In other cases, men marry women in both America and abroad.

Many women keep quiet for fear of retribution or deportation.

For example, Sally's husband moved to the United States from the Ivory Coast before she did. When Sally joined him, she found he had married someone else in America. But without legal immigration papers, she didn't dare come forward and report him to the authorities.

She said when she arrived in the U.S., her husband and his new wife put her in the basement.

"They told me to cook, clean, do everything. I didn't speak English. And he told me, 'Don't say nothing. You say something, she's going make you deported. And me, I'm going to be in jail.'"

Eventually, Sally left the house with her children, and now works at a hair braiding salon. But that fear of deportation prevents many from leaving their polygamous relationships.

"Legally, they're invisible," says Julie Dinnerstein, a senior attorney for Sanctuary for Families. "If you are the second or third or fourth wife, that marital relationship is not going to be recognized for immigration purposes. It means if your husband is a citizen or green card holder, he can't sponsor you. It means if your husband gets asylum, you don't get asylum at the same time. The man is always going to be in a position of greater power."

For Others, a Blessing

Abed Awad, a family law attorney in New Jersey, says for many Muslim men, multiple wives means many children — which is considered a blessing in Islam. And since Islam allows for sexual relations only in marriage, polygamy legitimizes the relationship in God's eyes. [NPR sugarcoating]

Awad says conservative Muslims argue that in polygamy, "You're actually responsible for that person as your spouse. And the sexual relationship becomes a relationship of love and companionship as opposed to just a sexual fling."

Notice how the left loves to use the word "conservative" when referring to the worst aspects of Islam?

'One Is Enough'

At Mam African Hair Braiding salon in Queens, N.Y., husbands are often the topic of conversation.

As the Senegalese owner, Miriam Dougrou, weaves cornrows on a young woman, she says that her father married four women and she had 19 or 20 siblings. She lost count. So did her father.

"Sometimes he doesn't know who's who, and he forget the name" of his children and wives, she said.

"He calls them No. 1 and No. 2," says Dougrou's husband, Timothy.

As the Pentagon has said, "Had al-Qahtani succeeded in entering the U.S., it is believed he would have been on United Airlines Flight 93, the only hijacked aircraft that had four hijackers instead of five [and the one that ended up crashing in a Pennsylvania field instead of striking the White House, its widely believed intended target]." CHARGES DROPPED AGINST 20TH HIJACKER MSNBC

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico - The Pentagon has dropped charges against a Saudi at Guantanamo who was alleged to have been the so-called "20th hijacker" in the Sept. 11 attacks, his U.S. military defense lawyer said Monday.

Mohammed al-Qahtani was one of six men charged by the military in February with murder and war crimes for their alleged roles in the 2001 attacks. Authorities say al-Qahtani missed out on taking part in the attacks because he was denied entry to the U.S. by an immigration agent.

Speaking of torture and bras. Perhaps prosecutors wanted to avoid this.

NEWARK (AP) -- When he faces an immigration judge in two weeks, a popular Muslim cleric fighting deportation may have to counter claims that he confessed to being a member of a terrorist group

According to Israeli military authorities, Imam Mohammad Qatanani admitted being a member of the militant Hamas organization during interrogation in 1993 in Israel.

"Imam Mohammed Katanani was convicted based on his own admission on charges of belonging to an unauthorized association and providing services to an unauthorized association, for being a member of Hamas and acting on its behalf," the Israeli army said in a statement faxed to The Associated Press.

The U.S. State Department includes Hamas on its list of "designated foreign terrorist organizations." Anyone identified as a member or a supporter of an organization on the list can be refused entry to the U.S., according to Lucille Cirillo, spokeswoman for U.S. Customs and Border Patrol. According to the army statement, an Israeli military court sentenced Qatanani to three months in prison and a 12-month suspended sentence, and also fined him.

Qatanani, who heads the Islamic Center of Passaic County in Paterson, faces possible deportation for not disclosing the conviction when he applied for citizenship in 1999. He is scheduled to appear before immigration Judge Alberto J. Riefkohl in Newark on May 8.

Of course the Democrats, handmaiden to the jihad rush to his defense:

Political leaders, including Gov. Jon S. Corzine, have expressed support for Qatanani, and the imam's followers have raised about $135,000 for his defense in recent weeks. They are planning a rally in Newark on the day his trial begins, according to Aref Assaf, president of the Paterson-based American Arab Forum.

  74-year-old grandmother spent the night in jail after she refused security officers' efforts to check her at Palm Beach International Airport and then shoved a deputy, authorities said Thursday.

Elena Reichman, a Holocaust survivor who lives west of Boca Raton, is charged with felony battery on a law enforcement officer. She was released from jail after posting a $3,000 bond at 5 a.m. Thursday. It was her first arrest, state records show.

Reichman's daughter, Davira Bareli, said her mother is diabetic and accused security officers and the deputy of acting irrationally with her mother.

A witness said a man wearing a black hat and a long black coat had a small prayer book and he went to pray, ignoring the flight attendants’ orders to take his seat. The flight was scheduled to leave for San Francisco, which is the place where the praying passenger lives.

His friends told the attendants that he couldn’t stop the prayer, but he should finish in about 2 minutes. After 2 minutes, the man explained that he couldn’t interrupt his praying because it was a religious ritual and he didn’t do that intentionally. But the plane took off without the man after the attendants called a guard to remove him from the plane.

“Even when the doors of the plane are not closed, if the crew says you should take your seat, you have to, so they can proceed with preparing the flight for takeoff,” Ms. Urbanski, a spokeswoman for United Airlines, was quoted by the New York Times as saying. “It’s important that the customers listen to the flight crew’s instructions, especially safety instructions.” She confirmed the man was put on another flight Thursday morning.

On the other hand, it looks like there is a religious rule in the Talmud saying that a man shouldn’t give up to his prayers even if a snake curls around his ankle.

Two years ago, Hatem El-Hady was the chairman of the Toledo, Ohio-based Islamic charity, Kindhearts, which was closed by the US government in February 2006 for terrorist fundraising and all its assets frozen. Today, El-Hady has redirected his fundraising efforts for his newest cause - Barack Obama for President.

El-Hady has his own dedicated page on Barack Obama's official website, chronicling his fundraising on behalf of the Democratic Party presidential candidate. Not only that, but he has none other than Barack Obama's wife, Michelle Obama, listed as one of his friends (one of her 224 listed friends).

In February, we exposed the latest FBI (and CIA) outrage, advertising for recruits in a pro-terrorist, anti-American magazine, the Washington Report on Middle East Affairs (WRMEA) - (see: Looking Under a Rock: FBI and CIA Hit New Low in Recruitment Drive). Both of our top national security agencies had placed online advertisements on the webpage of a magazine that included a hagiography to a terrorist the FBI had worked almost a decade to investigate and prosecute, Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative Sami Al-Arian.

Just over a month later, it is clear that the FBI has learned nothing. The agency is advertising for recruits in the Arab American News, another publication with a long history of support for terrorism, terrorists and terrorist organizations. The current edition has an editorial titled, "Let our people go!," under an ad banner recruiting for the FBI (which also appears on the home page of the website), about accused Iraqi spy Muthanna al-Hanooti, which states:

Arab American political activist Muthanna al-Hanooti was arrested and jailed this week by federal officials upon arrival at Detroit Metropolitan Airport returning from a trip to the Middle East. The following day he was charged with two counts of conspiracy and three counts of lying to the FBI about working for agents with the Iraqi Intelligence Service under Saddam Hussein. (emphasis added)

 

The editorial goes on to state:

We see a man who worked tirelessly trying to prevent a catastrophe for his homeland and for his new country. We see a guy who, rather than pick up a gun and kill somebody to reach his political goals, chose to participate in the American political system because he believed in it. He believed justice would be served if only more people knew the real story of what was going on in Iraq.

So there you have it. The FBI is advertising for recruits in a publication which proclaims the innocence of an alleged Iraqi spy accused of lying …. to the FBI, and claims that being a paid intelligence asset of Saddam Hussein's Baathist regime is participating "in the American political system."

Understanding the FBI's need for Arabic translators and Arabic speaking agents and analysts is one thing. Seeing the agency advertise for recruits in pro-terrorist publications – including one that discounts making false statements to the FBI! - is quite another. As we stated in February when it became known that the FBI and CIA were advertising in WRMEA, Congress needs to immediately investigate these agencies' recruiting techniques.

Following are details from Law Enforcement on Binghamton's Ramadan A. Abdullah, the "Muslim of the Americas" member and cop killer that links him to the Fresno CA and the Binghamton/Hancock NY camps.

U.S. Marshals encountered Baladullah (Fresno CA "Muslims of the Americas" camp) when they arrested a Baladullah resident, James Hobson, on a warrant for smuggling firearms between South Carolina and New York.

Detectives from the Fresno County sheriff's department searched the Baladullah trailer of another resident, Ramadan Abdullah (from Binghamton NY), who was charged with killing a deputy who had caught him breaking into a home outside the community, possibly to steal guns.

Detectives reported seeing a small landing strip and firing range on the Baladullah property. In Ramadan Abdullah's trailer, they found a book by Sheikh Mubarik Ali Jilani, Sgt. Toby Rien said. The State Department says Jilani, a Pakistani cleric, founded Al-Fuqra more than 20 years ago.

Authorities also said that Ramadan Abdullah had come from a similar Muslim community in Binghamton, N.Y. (Islamburg).

While at Baladullah (Fresno CA), detectives also observed near the front gate a sign for the International Qur'anic Open University an arm of another Jilani organization. The sign has since been removed.

ATF agents say they have looked into Baladullah (Fresno CA) as part of their investigation into Al-Fuqra (Muslims of the Americas) activities at a similar remote settlement in Virginia, where a man was convicted last month on federal firearms violations.

"They are all connected," said Bart McEntire, resident agent in charge of the ATF in Virginia. "And I'm aware that there is this faction near Fresno."

The federal government is investigating whether the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety violated the civil rights of Iranian immigrants by refusing to provide them with driver's license tests in their native Farsi language.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration launched the investigation in March after a complaint filed on behalf of two Iranian nationals living in Bartlesville accused the state agency of unlawful discrimination based on their national origin, according to a letter from the NHTSA to Public Safety Commissioner Kevin Ward.

Binghamton, N.Y., grants permit for Milad-un-Nabi event

Muslim leaders at an encampment at the Catskill Mountains called "Islamberg" have been granted a permit by the city of Binghamton, N.Y., to hold a parade on Saturday in honor of Muhammad's birthday.

The holiday is called Milad-un-Nabi and is being celebrated by a group of families who live at the nearby property owned by Muslims of the Americas, Inc.

The city has the parade scheduled on its calendar from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the downtown area, including its main street, and a report in the local Press & Sun-Bulletin said the celebration previously held on the group's own property this year is being expanded.

"We're trying to do an interfaith thing, we're reach out to the community to do a program based on unity," Maryam Rahim, a spokeswoman, told the newspaper. "We haven't been very well known …. We want everyone to come out and celebrate, may ask questions."

Interfaith ............ what about nonbelievers?

City spokesman Andrew Block said the group secured the appropriate permits to hold the celebration and the city will close down one lane of the downtown's main street for the parade.

Other events will be held in front of the old Broome County courthouse, officials said.

The newspaper said Muslims of the Americas was formed in the 1980s when several families migrated from New York City to make a new start. There now is a mosque and a private school on the land.

However, there are others who describe the location as a training facility for the Pakistani terrorist group Jamaat ul Fuqra.

As WND reported earlier, a covert visit to the encampment found neighboring residents deeply concerned about military-style training taking place there but frustrated by the lack of attention from federal authorities. The visit was conducted by the Northeast Intelligence Network, which worked with an Internet blogger, "CP," to publish an report.

The neighbors interviewed, who asked not to be identified, said in the report compiled only two years ago they feared retaliation if they were to make a report to law enforcement officials.

"We see children – small children run around over there when they should be in school," one neighbor said. "We hear bursts of gunfire all of the time, and we know that there is military-like training going on there. Those people are armed and dangerous."

The resident said his household gets "nothing but menacing looks from the people who go in and out of the camp, and sometimes they yell at us to mind our own business when we are just driving by."

"We don't even dare to slow down when we drive by," the resident said. "They own this mountain and they know it, and there is nothing we can do about it but move, and we can't even do that. Who wants to buy property next to that?"

Jamaat ul-Fuqra, or "community of the impoverished," was formed by Pakistani cleric Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani in New York in 1980. Gilani, who refers to himself as "the sixth Sultan Ul Faqr," has stated his objective is to "purify" Islam through violence.

 

Gilani also is the founder of a village in South Carolina called "Holy Islamville."

"Try to walk down the street where their community (Islamberg) is and you will be greeted by a man armed with a rifle. I have witnessed this on more than one occasion (even prior to 9/11) on Roods Creek Rd. when passing by slowly as I headed out to the Cannonsville reservoir," said a nearby resident who also asked for anonymity.

Fox News earlier reported that the compound has remained shrouded in mystery and fear, partly because it sits near the huge reservoir system that provides New York City with most of its drinking water.

The report said New York State police authorities confirmed they've had the group on file for years.

The compound is on 70 acres of remote land and residents have expressed concern for the gunshots they hear.

Secret survey exposes widespread radicalism WND

An undercover survey of more than 100 mosques and Islamic schools in America has exposed widespread radicalism, including the alarming finding that 3 in 4 Islamic centers are hotbeds of anti-Western extremism, WND has learned.

The Mapping Sharia in America Project, sponsored by the Washington-based Center for Security Policy, has trained former counterintelligence and counterterrorism agents from the FBI, CIA and U.S. military, who are skilled in Arabic and Urdu, to conduct undercover reconnaissance at some 2,300 mosques and Islamic centers and schools across the country.

Frank Gaffney, a former Pentagon official who runs the Center for Security Policy, says the results of the survey have not yet been published. I’ve taken a lot of flak for enforcing this rule, and have endured my share of reproach and ridicule for my namby-pamby sissified cowardly fear of frank and unrestrained argument. I’ve been accused of succumbing to the dictates of political correctness, and have even allegedly driven one blogger out of blogging through his disgust at my disgraceful example.

But there is a prudent and practical reason for my policy, as demonstrated today by the actions of the federal government towards two prominent blogs, Gateway Pundit and Little Green Footballs.

According to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch:

Mosque threatened, Muslim group says

A national Muslim civil rights organization has asked the FBI to investigate what it considers threats made on the Internet against a Bosnian mosque in St. Louis.

One blog post cited by the group made reference to vandalism and another to the use of dynamite.

Zachary Lowe, a special agent in the St. Louis office of the FBI, said Tuesday that while he could not confirm an investigation, the bureau “takes all threats against people very seriously, especially religious and ethnic groups.”

The comments were made on at least two blogs and related to a posting about a minaret being built at the mosque. The mosque is the Islamic Community Center, or Madina Masjid, at 4666 Lansdowne Avenue. A minaret is a tower from which the Muslim call to prayer is traditionally sounded.

The author of a blog called “Gateway Pundit: Observations of the World from the heart of Jesusland,” posted three photos of the minaret covered with scaffolding. One of the photos included the caption: “Those calls to prayers ought to go over really well with the people of this South St. Louis neighborhood.”

The “Gateway Pundit” author also cited another blog, Republican Riot, saying the Muslim call to prayer “is to be broadcast several times a day.”

But Madina Masjid’s spiritual leader, Imam Muhamed Hasic, said the minaret is symbolic, not practical. There is no sound system or speakers on the minaret, which is scheduled to be completed next week. He said the minaret will not be used to call Muslims to prayer.

Another blog, called “Little Green Footballs,” linked to the “Gateway Pundit” post, and several comments on “Little Green Footballs,” caused the Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations to contact the FBI, said Ibrahim Hooper, the council’s spokesman.

“We ourselves get these kinds of hate messages and threats frequently,” Hooper said. “But you never know who’s just talking and who’s going to carry out some these threats, so you have to check them out.”

On the “Gateway Pundit,” a blogger who identified herself as Kathi, wrote: “It is really hard on us white, non-muslims to have to live with these folks taking over our neighborhood and community. Our government helping these people relocate into America’s heartland is like inviting the enemy into your camp. It’s totally disgusting.”

On “Little Green Footballs,” blogger Amer1can wrote, “Would be a shame if it were to be vandalized or destroyed. Just a shame I tell you….wink wink STL youth.”

Blogger Arthur E. Hippler added: “I suppose dynamite would be considered an extreme response.”

The original post was by Julia Gorin at Republican Riot. Jim at Gateway Pundit picked it up yesterday, and then followed it up with a post today after the Post-Dispatch story hit the streets.

One of the photos of the St. Louis minaret mentioned in the article is shown at right, and Jim’s dangerous, hateful, Islamophobic caption reads: Amazing! (GP Photo) Those calls to prayers ought to go over really well with the people of this South St. Louis neighborhood.

Alert readers will notice that all of the “threats” cited by the article were made by commenters on the blogs, not by the blogs’ owners and authors.

The FBI and the MSM evidently make no distinction between a blogger and a commenter. They’re really not familiar with our milieu — so a commenter is a blogger and a blogger is a commenter; what’s the difference?

However… when the excrement impacts the circulation device, it won’t be the commenters who are targeted for their incitement; it will be the blog owners.

They’re the ones who will be hauled down to the local FBI office, put into a hot little room under a set of bright lights, and talked to for six or eight hours.

It’s the blog owners’ blogs that will get shut down.

It’s the blog owners who will have to retain legal counsel — and drop a couple of large in the process.

It’s the blog owners who will have to pay the fines and do the time.

And maybe — just maybe — after the feds finish getting their jollies with the blog owners, they’ll go after a few commenters while they’re at it. Just a little dessert after the main course, you know.

You Americans think it can only happen in Finland (Tomashot), Britain (Lionheart), Sweden (Dahn Pettersson and Lennart Eriksson), Canada (Ezra Levant and Mark Steyn), Belgium (Paul Belien) , and other similar benighted backwaters.

But it can happen here, too.

The First Amendment is under continuous assault by the forces of Political Correctness, and it’s going to get worse once Hillary Rodham or Barack Hussein gets elected and starts pulling away at the levers of power.

So why not practice for the days of samizdat that are surely coming our way? What’s wrong with a little judicious indirection?

If the time should come when we are required to dissolve the political bands which have connected us with the existing system, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind will require us to state our case clearly.

When that happens, when the powers that be remain deaf to the voice of justice and of consanguinity, we may, therefore, acquiesce in the necessity for plain speech and forthright action.

But until then I’d like to keep this blog going. I want this forum to remain open.

I don’t want to spend my sunset years talking to polite and well-dressed federal agents in stuffy little rooms.

I don’t want to be driven into bankruptcy by legal expenses.

And, yes, I may well end up standing at the corner of Emmet and Hydraulic, beckoning to passing cars with a sign that reads, “WILL BLOG FOR FOOD”.

Today marked the start of "Palestine Awareness Week" at the University of Michigan. The inaugural lecture was performed by anti-Israel Wayne State University anthropology professor Thomas Abowd. The theme of the event was supposed to be "Introducing Palestine", but the event instead focused on "demonizing and de-legitimizing" Israel.

Anti-Semitic Ann Arbor extremists were out in full force for the launch of the week's events.

FL Attorney General Agrees to Muslim Advisory Group

(TALLAHASSEE, FL, 2/12/2008) - In a meeting today with state and national Islamic leaders in Tallahassee, Florida Attorney General Bill McCollum agreed to establish a Muslim community advisory group.

Today's meeting came following a controversy in which McCollum's office reportedly directed staff throughout the state to view the controversial anti-Islam film "Obsession: Radical Islam's War Against the West." The eminent scholar, Bat Ye’or, is tiny in height only; she is a towering intellect and a fierce judge of both human character and history. Her work predicted and documented the Islamification of Europe. We both agree that the battle for America has only begun—although I believe that it is well underway.

Here we are, two friends, ladies of a certain age, sitting in the most pleasant of surroundings , (a private club, tres ancien regime), and conversing most seriously, not about children and grandchildren, not about the ballet or the opera, (under other circumstances, a conversation we might certainly like to have), but given our times, and our views, a luxury we cannot afford. Thus, we talk about War and Peace and the Clash of Civilizations. What could be more enjoyable and yet more pathetic? Yes, pathetic. We two should be having this conversation in a government office and our views should be leading to co-ordinated government actions. More’s the pity that this is not the case.

Phyllis: What do you see is happening at this moment?

Bat Ye’or: The West is engaged in a very careful exercise of self-censorship. We are trying not to offend Muslim sensibilities. Western governments want to impose respect for Muslim sensibilities in the hope that this will avoid jihad. They are ready to suppress the truth.

Phyllis: What do you think of an Obama Presidency?

Bat Ye’or: Obama and his supporters do not seem to understand that Europe has failed. Today, European dissidents are forming movements against the European Union whose policies have led to the Islamification of Europe. Europe is suffering from a huge Muslim immigration problem. The Muslim immigrants do not want to integrate into a modern, tolerant state and they want to impose Sha’ria law on us all.

Phyllis: What does this remind you of?

Bat Ye’or: All these Western gestures of appeasement reminds me of the dhimmi regulations. These are a whole set of regulations whose purpose is to respect Muslim sensibilities. Therefore, Christians must conduct “quiet” services and dhimmis (infidels) must wear special clothing so as not to shock or offend Muslims with their too-fashionable or too-expensive clothing. Long ago, infidels had to dismount from their donkeys when a Muslim approached and a dhimmi could only pass a Muslim on the left (or impure) side, not on the right side.

I am not in favor of inciting anyone but really, where will this all end? And why this super-sensitivity only to Muslims? There is only one answer. Our intellectuals and politicians want to have a good relationship with the Muslim world. They think they will always have the freedoms that they currently enjoy. They do not understand that those freedoms are at risk.

Phyllis: Where does Israel fit into this picture?

Bat Ye’or: Europeans have imagined that the problem is only Israel. They were committed to allowing the Arabs to destroy Israel if that kept them, the Europeans, safe. But these Europeans do not seem to remember that Islam persecuted and then destroyed Christianity in Muslim lands. We see a repetition of this in Europe today.

Phyllis: Such politicians and intellectuals are suicidal, don’t you think?

Bat Ye’or: Absolutely. But they want so much to be loved that they are reaching out to their enemy. This is the politics of self-destruction. They are making concessions about their basic security and freedom

Phyllis: Some people are already discouraged, almost in advance, about the battle for America. What do you think?

Bat Ye’or: This battle is not yet lost. The handful of us who are working to alert others to the dangers specific to the 21st century are doing heroic work against all odds. We—you—have not failed. I believe that we are planting seeds. When America battled communism it had whole organizations committed to doing so. We—you—have nothing like that today in the war against Islamic terror.

Phyllis: I know that your work was initially attacked or “disappeared.” How much has this changed?

Bat Ye’or: My work has been well received in Italy by the most prominent Italian intellectuals. I am, however, conspicuously avoided in the UK by the media and in universities—although I did speak before Parliament two years ago. In France, everyone’s speech is less free than elsewhere. It is the most intellectually repressive society.

After I returned home, I read that French intellectuals, headed by Bernard Henri-Levy are organizing to support Aayan Hirsi Ali’s request for French citizenship. Have the French finally begun to wake up? Or does this say something about Sarkozy’s future politics and his potential interest in a high-profile symbol?
