Opposition to the jihad in Burma is fast becoming the third rail. The bogus myth of Muslim victimhood has become the rallying cry for Islamic supremacists organizations (CAIR, the OIC, et al) and their leftwing operatives across the nation and the world. And I dared touch that third rail when I called for Atlas readers, twitter followers and FB friends to contact their congressmen and vote NO on resolution 418 (more here). Jihad agitators and their leftist shills were none too pleased.
It is clear that jihad terrorists are converging on Burma from Bangladesh, Indonesia and Pakistan -- a jihad group from the Caucasus announced that back in July. Still, media coverage and reportage on the violence in Burma is notoriously pro-jihad (is there any country that opposes jihad that the media likes?). Much is made of the Buddhists' reponse to Muslim violence against Buddhists in Burma. But Aung San Suu Kyi, Burmese nobel peace prize winner and Myanmar's democracy and human rights icon, has spoken uneqivocally in support of the Buddhists, much to the media's crushing dismay. She had been, up until that point, a media darling.
“It’s not ethnic cleansing,” Ms Suu Kyi said. “What the world needs to understand (is) that the fear is not just on the side of the Muslims, but on the side of the Buddhists as well.”
The Telegraph was beside itself.
I never thought I would write this, but Aung San Suu Kyi sent a shiver down my spine when she appeared on the Today programme this morning. Her equivocal attitude towards the violence suffered by Burma’s Muslim minority was deeply disturbing.
Mishal Husain asked her bluntly: “Do you condemn the anti-Muslim violence?” Suu Kyi replied: “I condemn any movement that is based on hatred and extremism.”
How could a winner of the Nobel Peace Prize fail to answer that question with a simple “Yes”?
BBC Channel 4 was crushed, crushed, I tell ya.
"Aung San Suu Kyi: falling from grace"
As political heroes go, few rank higher that Burmese opposition leader, Aung San Suu Kyi. Most people know her as a modern-day saint – the diminutive democrat who defied Burma’s ruthless military leaders. Yet an increasing number are beginning to question Ms Suu Kyi’s judgement. Remarks made in a BBC television interview this week in relation to that country’s brutal ethnic conflict between Buddhists and the minority Muslims have earned particular criticism. Observers and activists have accused Burma“s icon of democracy” of factual inaccuracies and a surprising shortage of compassion......
You get the picture. Many of the Rohingya Muslims illegally immigrated to Burma from Bangladesh, where hundreds of thousands protested in support of the death penalty for apostates and atheist bloggers. The Burmese have every right to be concerned. Look at Burma's part of the world and the endless bloodshed in the cause of jihad in neighboring India, Kashmir, Bangladesh, Thailand, and China. Yes, they should be on alert.
Now their goosestepping thugs, the illegal uber-left network of hacktivists and anarchist entities, "Anonymous," has taken up the jihad in Burma as their latest cause -- so of course they would target me on twitter. The FBI has dismantled the leaders of Anonymous and arrested the group's core members, but anonymous trolls abound.
This is left's idea od intellectual sparring. Pure evil. The Left always does this. They try to demean the character of their enemies by engaging in mockery and ridicule, which only makes more glaring their total inability and unwillingness to engage on the level of ideas.
Props to Doc Washburn for taking these misanthropes on:
