In the Mumbai terror attacks, the Muslim attackers released the Muslims and tortured, mutilated and slaughtered non-Muslims just as they were in the Kenyan mall massacre.
Mumbai jihad mass murder plotter Daood Gilani, aka David Headley, bragged about the attacks (thanks to Robert Spencer)
Gilani, aka Headley
He says they were "retaliation" for the defense against the jihad in Kashmir and the misadventure in Afghanistan. Non-Muslim analysts constantly make the mistake of thinking that since these jihadis always frame their jihad attacks as "retaliation," that if the big bad West or the non-Muslim world in general would just stop provoking the poor dears, that everything would be all right. This disastrously wrongheaded analysis stems from a failure to realize that in the absence of a caliph, all jihad must be cast as defensive, since according to all the Sunni schools of Islamic jurisprudence, no one but the caliph is authorized to declare offensive jihad. So all jihad for the nonce must be "defensive."
Note, however, that the pretexts always change, but the jihad remains constant. There are two grievances for which the poor jihadis are retaliating in this article alone: "David Headley 'bragged' about Mumbai attacks in emails, book claims," from IANS, October 26 (thanks to Lookmann):CHICAGO: A Danish journalist says barely a week after the November 26, 2008 terrorist strikes on Mumbai, David Coleman Headley, their most high-profile Chicago plotter, was "bragging" about them in an email forum. What seems remarkable about Karre Sorenson's finding is the extent of Headley's involvement in the planning of the Mumbai attacks and who also justifies the Mumbai killings, calling them "retaliation" for the wrongs done in Kashmir and even Afghanistan.
Karre Sorenson, a journalist with the Jyllands-Posten newspaper, has just published a book about a particularly brutal but abortive plot by Headley against his own newspaper. Although the 350-page book in the Danish language titled "Halshug", which means behead or decapitate in Danish, focuses mainly on the conspiracy to attack the newspaper offices in Copenhagen, it also contains 80 pages about the Mumbai attacks.
