Stunning subversion. Obama continues to troll the bottom of the uber-left political cesspool to fill his key cabinet positions, in order to impose his radical anti-freedom agenda on the nation. Al Quds Brennan, Pro-Iran Hagel, Swiftboat Kerry and now dhimmi Lopez. As Assistant Attorney General at the Justice Department, Tom Perez has a shameful record of pro-sharia initiatives and craven accommodation to Islamic supremacists at the DoJ.
He refused to answer questions whether DoJ would advance a proposal to criminalize speech against any religion. He refused to commit to the House Judiciary Committee Subcommittee on the Constitution that it would never advance a law criminalizing the right to criticize any religion.
My confidential source tells me that Thomas Perez, the Department of Justice official, "has been present at Muslim conventions both as a panelist and as a speaker. During a question and answer session a Muslim audience member was hostile, and Perez literally cringed and promised that the DOJ would do better. He also asked that more Muslims join the DOJ - that he would look forward to working with them."
Perez gave extraordinary access to Muslim Brotherhood groups and was touted by these Hamas proxies for all his actions on behalf of Muslims, including a suit against the city of Lilburn, Georgia for resisting the expansion of a mosque and amicus participation calling for dismissal of a suit brought by Murfreesboro, Tennessee patriots against an Islamic supremacist mosque there. (Documents here).
Further, Perez is the subject of a "a newly released report that found he gave incomplete testimony on the controversial decision to drop charges against members of the New Black Panther Party."
The report challenged testimony Perez gave to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights, when he claimed in 2010 that no political leadership was involved in the decision to dismiss three of the four defendants in a lawsuit the George W. Bush administration brought against the New Black Panther Party. The high-profile case involved allegations of voter intimidation outside a Philadelphia polling place in the 2008 election. (here)
That case was won when the DoJ dropped it. More on the Black Panther case of voter intimidation here.
Obama Nominates Tom Perez as Secretary of Labor Fox News, March 18, 2013
UPDATE: Jack Kemp wrote this in the American Thinker:
President Barack Obama on Monday nominated Tom Perez, head of the Justice Department's
Civil Rights Division, as labor secretary, a cabinet member who will play a key role in the administration's efforts to raise the minimum wage and reform immigration laws.
Perez is the only Latino nominated to Obama's second-term Cabinet so far. The Harvard-educated civil rights attorney is expected to face opposition from some Republican senators, who say he has been too aggressive on certain immigration issues, and too political.
Vote Counts and Vampire Counts
Recently two well-known conservative experts on U.S. voting irregularities came to speak at the Federalist Society of Mineola, Long Island. They included John Fund of the American Spectator, Wall Street Journal, and National Review, who coauthored Who's Counting?: How Fraudsters and Bureaucrats Put Your Vote At Risk....
Mr. Fund then switched to his final topic, Thomas Perez, the latest Obama nominee for Secretary of Labor -- and why this was strongly related to identifying voters. Fund said that Thomas Perez opposes any and all immigration law, that he advocated free tuition for immigrants. Perez also was involved in the famous New York Fire Department hiring exam case, saying that blacks who failed 70 percent of the exam questions should be hired anyway. Perez was also responsible for dropping the New Black Panther voter intimidation case...
There were other stories of outrage, but I will leave you with two of Mr. Fund's suggestions: Buy a copy of Who's Counting? -- and go to the website of http://www.truethevote.org/to learn more about what you can do to insure a more honest vote -- and to answer the question in Mr. Fund's book title with one word: "me."
