Haqqani Network Releases Video Of Taliban's Hi-Tech Training, Justifies 'Theory Of Martyrdom Attacks' As Allah's Favor MEMRI, February 1, 2013
Justifying the "theory of martyrdom attacks" as Allah's favors, the Haqqani Network has released a detailed video of how it planned and carried out simultaneous suicide bombings in four Afghan provinces – including Nangarhar, Paktia, Logar, and the capital Kabul – on April 15, 2012. The Haqqani Network is the most influential militant group working as part of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan, the Taliban's shadow government led by Mullah Omar.
The video, titled "Victorious Convoy 8," and 1:08:52 in duration, was produced in two parts by the Al-Hijrat Studio of the Haqqani Network. The militants are shown using laptops to plan their attacks and speaking to their commanders by cell phone live from the scene of attacks.
A background commentary justified suicide attacks: "The Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan force cannot be compared with the U.S. forces in terms of material resources. However, compelling the U.S. to flee the battlefield was possible only through the special support of Allah. One of the several favors of Allah to the mujahideen is the greatest theory of martyrdom attacks among the ranks of the Islamic Emirate."
Jihadi Song: "Jihad Al-Jihad Is Our Slogan; Jihad Is A Clear Objective Of Our Life"
The first part of the video features a brief introduction of the suicide bombers, commentary on the gains of suicide attacks, and a passing out parade by the militants after completing 23 days of extensive military training, including physical and firearms training. Four different groups of militants in white, black, and camouflage uniforms, masks, and head bands inscribed with "Kalima Tayyeba" (the words proclaiming Islamic faith) are seen parading and firing at targets with pistols, AK-47 rifles, and heavy weapons.
