For a continent that is world famous for its Jew-hatred, it takes a truly monstrous political party or politician to stand out in the crowd. Norway's Labour party does just that. And Norway stands head and shoulders above your standard run of the mill Jew-hater, with a particularly vicious and relentless form of antisemitism.
Khalid Haji Ahmed has joined the local branch of the liberal Labor Party’s youth wing to confront "racism." He was at Utoya, a political summer program organized by the ruling Labor Party, when madman Anders Breivik went on his shooting spree. Ahmed lost his brother, and you would think that such unspeakable violence would have made Ahmed reconsider the vile hate and violence of Islamic Jew-hatred. His brother was the victim of an evil murderer, and now he wants Jews to be mass-murdered in much the same way. Enemies of freedom attempt to tie me to the lunatic, but he is everything I despise, denounce, and condemn. His inspirations were Hamas and al Qaeda; mine are Ayn Rand, George Washington, Thomas Sowell, Aristotle, et al. He loved death, I love life -- and now it appears that Khalid Haji Ahmed loves death just as much.
Future Labor leaders (Ronny Alte)
A central AUF (Labour Party youth party) politician post direct Jew hate in Facebook, and he explains his post-ups with humour.
"Fucking Jew whores, wish Hitler could come back and shower all you Jews again”, wrote the central AUF-politician in a Facebook discussion thread. Many have reacted to the Ap-politician Khalid Haji Ahmed and his participation in the debate; Ahmed is the former County Secretary of the AUF and council for Labour in Hamar.Ahmed himself however thinks that the whole thing or statement is pulled completely out of proportion.
- I do not understand why people always run to the media when something is written in Facebook or elsewhere. Perhaps those who tell media about this try to hurt me as a politician. It is even possible that those who alerted the media either are Jews themselves or have political interests in getting publicity surrounding the post.
Do you understand why people respond to your posts?
- Why? Should I distance myself from this? I know these kids well, and I know what works and what does not work. If I would yell at them, they just became even madder on the Jews. Adrenaline is pumping and many people are angry because of the situation in the Middle East. Thus, I also told it the way I did because I utilised humour and then they may have realised that they have made a mistake, says the AP politician.
This statement is in strong contrast to the AUF statement made right after the tragedy on Utøya. As a union, the AUF stood forward in media and talked about freedom of responsibility, solidarity against extreme attitudes, and overall fight against extremists.
Also, the head party of the AUF Labour pointed out how important it was to combat the extreme attitudes and repeatedly emphasized how important it was to fight the sake of Islamists today.
We need to take responsibility for the freedom of speech and become "digital neighbouring snitch" and push back against what we think is wrong, said Jens Stoltenberg (the Prime Minister of Norway).
However, this only applies to anyone who disagrees with the Labour party in its policy.
The group leader Gry Veronica Engli in Hamar Labour party says that she understands the AUF members’ "anger and commitment."
- There are very serious allegations and crude language. I think that they are angry because of the situation in the Middle East, and I can also understand the AUF, but they have to find another way to express them, says Engli.
It will be interesting to follow this episode in the future and to find out what will happen to our beautiful country if this is the future political leadership.
