Pig flying moment. This article was published at The Telegraph. Don't get me wrong. There is plenty of dissembling in the article and whitewashing but even so, big media never addresses the systematic persecution and slaughter of non-Muslims in Muslim countries.
President Obama has gone so far as to remove the sections covering religious freedom and religious peresecton from the Country Reports on Human Rights that the State department releases.
It's not just Christians, of course, but Hindus, Zoroastrians, Bahais, Jews, et al

Imagine the unspeakable fury that would erupt across the Islamic world if a Christian-led government in Khartoum had been responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Sudanese Muslims over the past 30 years. Or if Christian gunmen were firebombing mosques in Iraq during Friday prayers. Or if Muslim girls in Indonesia had been abducted and beheaded on their way to school, because of their faith.
Such horrors are barely thinkable, of course. But they have all occurred in reverse, with Christians falling victim to Islamist aggression. Only two days ago, a suicide bomber crashed a jeep laden with explosives into a packed Catholic church in Kaduna, northern Nigeria, killing at least eight people and injuring more than 100. The tragedy bore the imprint of numerous similar attacks by Boko Haram (which roughly translates as “Western education is sinful”), an exceptionally bloodthirsty militant group.
Other notable trouble spots include Egypt, where 600,000 Copts – more than the entire population of Manchester – have emigrated since the 1980s in the face of harassment or outright oppression.
Why is such a huge scourge chronically under-reported in the West? One result of this oversight is that the often inflated sense of victimhood felt by many Muslims has festered unchallenged. Take the fallout of last month’s protests around the world against the American film about the Prophet Mohammed. While most of the debate centred on the rule of law and the limits of free speech, almost nothing was said about how much more routinely Islamists insult Christians, almost always getting away with their provocations scot-free.
Innocence of Muslims, the production that spurred all the outrage, has been rightly dismissed as contemptible trash. What, though, of a website such as “Guardians of the Faith”, run by Salafist extremists in Cairo? Among many posts, it has carried an article entitled “Why Muslims are superior to Copts”. “Being a Muslim girl whose role models are the wives of the Prophet, who were required to wear the hijab, is better than being a Christian girl, whose role models are whores,” it declares. “Being a Muslim who fights to defend his honour and his faith is better than being a Christian who steals, rapes, and kills children.” Hateful messages breed hateful acts. Is it any surprise that mobs have set fire to one church after another across Egypt in recent years?

Mohammad Mostafa Kamel, a Muslim prosecutor at the Alexandria
Criminal Court, and his two sons, aided by some hired Muslims, broke
into the church of the St. Mary in Rashid at and demolished a great part
of its altar. They came to the church with front loaders. Kamel had no
demolition order.
Tanzania
Bishop Bernadin Mfumbusa of Kondoa warned that religious freedom and
other civil liberties were under threat from intolerant radical Muslim
influences sweeping in from countries neighbouring the east African
nation.
"We see more and more itinerant preachers from Saudi Arabia and Sudan entering this country - and Muslims are increasingly making political demands." These demands include extending Islamic Sharia law and making everyone subject to it - Muslim and non-Muslim alike.

Twin explosions rocked the restive district of Poso, Central
Sulawesi, on Tuesday as the region's ongoing sectarian violence
continued. No one was injured in the blasts, which targeted the home of a
Christian public employee and a church.
Pakistan
Shumaila Bibi, a Christian, was kidnapped by a 26 year old Muslim
Muhammad Javed Iqbal on the way home. She was subjected to sexual
assault and forced to study the Koran. On a pretext she managed to
escape and return to her family.

Massive arrests of evangelical Protestant Christians, including many
former Muslims, are reported in Iran, with men and women being dragged
to prisons across the Islamic nation. "We have learned that at least
100, but perhaps as many as 400 people, have been detained over the last
10 days," said Firouz Khandjani, a council member of the 'Church of
Iran' house church movement.
Tanzania
Violent clashes erupted in Dar es Salaam when scores of Muslim youth
stormed a police station and demanded that a 14-year-old boy accused of
urinating on the Quran be handed over to them.
In the aftermath of the confrontation, at least five churches were
attacked, several car windows smashed and passersby injured as the angry
mob moved from street to street at Mbagala Kizuiani protesting the
desecration of the holy book.

blasphemy by police after taking him in preventive custody when Muslim
mob attacked his home.

An official of one of Iran's largest house church movement says
recently detained church members are tortured and otherwise pressured to
confess to crimes they did not commit. "We are especially concerned
about seven Christians of our church who were taken to prison on
Friday," October 12, said Church of Iran council member Firouz
Khandjani.

Nigeria
No fewer than 30 persons were feared killed and property worth
several millions of naira destroyed in a renewed hostility by suspected
Fulani [Muslim] herdsmen in Yogbo Village in Guma. The attackers stormed
the village at about 7a.m. on Sunday when most of the villagers were in
church and killed mostly women and children.

The city is back in the limelight for acts of violence and terror
probably related to Muslim extremism, this after years of relative calm
following a peace accord signed in 2001 by radical Muslim groups and
Protestant Christian movements.
In the past few days, the port city in central Sulawesi has been the
scene of attacks against Christian-owned buildings. Two missing
policemen, who were investigating one recent attack, were found
yesterday, stabbed to death, their bodies hurriedly buried.

Christian mother. A member of the woman's family rejected the demands
and Hussein shot him. Before the struggle was over, four men were dead.

Authorities in Banda Aceh ordered the closure of nine Christian home
churches and six Buddhist prayer houses for alleged irregularities in
their building permit. According to Deputy Mayor Hajjah Illiza
Sa'aduddin Djamal, the buildings were illegal because they lacked the
right permit. "Aceh is a special territory that enforces Sharia," she
said and home churches violate the law because they lack the appropriate
building permit.

Syria
Up to 10 people were killed and 15 wounded as the charge detonated at
the historical gate of Bab Touma, a busy pick up point for taxis and
buses. "Terrorists are doing this," said George, a Christian who, like
many residents in Bab Touma lives in fear of the rebel fighters trying
to gain control of the capital.

near the Syrian capital of Damascus. The body of the Rev. Fadi Jamil
Haddad, pastor of St. Elias Church in Qatana, outside Damascus, was

quoted a colleague saying the priest had been "horribly tortured."
