Well, you were wrong. The NY Times just hired the ex-Director General of the BBC, Mark Thompson, as its Chief Executive and President.
I am sure that the UK is thrilled to be rid of this uber-leftie and anti-semitic PC apparatchik. But this is awful news. Really terrible. The NY Times influences all news reportage in America. Gird your loins.
BBC Director-General has been named as the president and chief executive of the New York Times.
The NYT said that Mr Thompson's experience in digital media made him the 'ideal candidate' for the role.
His appointment, announced Tuesday, comes eight months after Janet Robinson abruptly resigned as CEO in December.
The 55-year-old will report to the Times Chairman Arthur Sulzberger Jr. who praised Thompson as a 'gifted executive' who helped the BBC extend its brand into digital products and services.
Mr Thompson, who was paid more than £670,000 by the BBC last year, will relocate to New York and begin in November. He'll also join the board of directors.More at the The Daily mail
