More of the poisonous fruit from Obama's anti-freedom foreign policy (and yes, I am tired of saying that, I was tired when I wrote the Obama book back in 2009). We have come to a terrible end in Afghanistan. It was announced today that Mullah Omar can run for president in Afghanistan. That would be like allowing Hitler (had he been alive) to run for fuhrer after the war.
Mullah Omar has been wanted by the U.S. State Department since October 2001. There's a ten million dollar reward on his head. He sheltered Osama bin Laden and al-Qaeda killers in the years prior to the September 11 attacks. He had a hand in the 911 attacks, and is directing the Taliban's ongoing war against the U.S.-led NATO forces and the government of Afghanistan.
Fresh on the heels of the horrible news of this past weekend's slaughter of American troops comes this horrible news.
This past weekend Obama declared that Afghanistan is a "major non-NATO ally." The non-NATO ally declaration allows for streamlined defense cooperation, more money, expedited purchasing ability of American equipment, and easier export control regulations.
And he has just committed to more jizya for the Taliban.
Obama continues to stalk and chase these jihadist murderers. Hussein shames the nation, and puts our troops in harm's way.
"Hamid Karzai says Taliban chief Mullah Omar can run for Afghan presidency" Telegraph, July 12, 2012 (thanks to David)Afghan President Hamid Karzai called on Thursday on Taliban supreme leader Mullah Omar to give up fighting his US-backed government in return for the chance to run for president of the war-torn nation.Afghan President Hamid Karzai and Taliban supreme leader Mullah Omar Photo: AFP/Getty ImagesMullah Omar, the one-eyed Taliban leader who has been on run since the United States toppled his regime in late 2001, is one of the world's most wanted men and is leading a Taliban insurgency aimed at ousting Karzai.
Karzai has repeatedly called on Omar and other insurgents fighting against his administration to renounce violence and accept peaceful reintegration.
"I repeat my call on all Afghans, those who aren't the puppets of others and have (only) issues with us at home – they're welcome for any talks," he told a news conference.
"Mullah Mohammad Omar can come inside Afghanistan anywhere he wants to. He can open political office for himself but he should leave the gun.
"He along with his friends can come and create his political party, do politics, become a candidate himself for the elections. If people voted for him, good for him, he can take the leadership in his hand," Karzai said.
