The Muslim woman who repeatedly beat her 10-year-old girl with a steel ladle for not reading enough verses of the Koran was jailed today. The abused and beaten child should be permanently removed from the pious mom's care and placed with secular Muslims or non-Muslims. This child has had enough Islam to last her a lifetime.
It is beyond heartbreaking that the beaten victim pleaded with the judge to spare her monstrous mother any jail time. She knows what awaits her when the pious one is released.

Muslim woman who repeatedly attacked a 10-year-old girl with a steel ladle for not reading enough verses of the Koran was jailed today.
- Asia Parveen, 31, inflicted 57 separate injuries during attack
- Parveen blamed her hormones and stress from fasting during Ramadan for launching the assault
- Police found the young victim wandering the streets in the early morning
Asia Parveen, 31, who was pregnant at the time, left the child with 57 injuries and later claimed her violent outburst had been prompted by her hormones. Parveen hit the girl with the metal spoon for 45 minutes and forced her to stand with her arms outstretched for four hours.

The girl only managed to escape when Parveen told her she was going to kill her and ran into her kitchen for a knife which she brandished.
Parveen, a former professional dancer who toured world-wide, had been fasting before the attack took place as it was the Muslim holy month of Ramadam.Snaresbrook Crown Court heard Parveen was considered to be ‘immoral’ by some in Pakistan for her previous career as a dancer.
It was for this reason that she wanted the girl to take her religious duties of reading the Koran seriously.
The girl, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, managed to escape and was found by police almost four hours later in the cold and alone at a bus stop.
Doctors identified 57 injuries when she was examined at hospital with marks on her arms, legs, elbows and head.
Vicious: Asia Parveen subjected the youngster to a 45-minute attack, leaving the child with 57 separate injuries
Parveen, who is a mother-of-three, accepted causing some of the injuries with the ten inch cooking spoon but said others must have been caused when the girl ‘fell over.’
Jailing Parveen for nine months, Judge Martyn Zeidman ignored pleas in a letter from the child victim for Parveen to be spared jail.
He said: ‘You need to understand that this was outrageous behaviour and if you ever attack a child again, you will go to prison for very much longer.
‘Of course the injuries itself were not life-threatening, but there were so many of them and the pictures and the body plan prepared by the paediatrician demonstrate there were 57 injuries.
‘Having a very young baby should not be seen as a get out of jail card.’
The court heard an argument started between Parveen and the girl on August 15 last year.
‘The girl was praying from the Koran and Ms Parveen accused her of lying about how many of the verses she had read,’ said Tom Nicholson, prosecuting.
‘She was 10 at the time. Ms Parveen took a metal spoon about 10 inches in size and the Crown’s case is that she hit the child with it repeatedly, causing extensive bruising over both arms, her legs and head.
‘The Crown’s case is that Ms Parveen said she was going to kill the girl and ran to get a knife from the kitchen.
The girl had no alternative but to leave at around 10pm.
