Huge props all around for defeating the CAIR's propaganda campaign in the public schools in Florida. Thanks to you, hundreds of calls, letters, emails, AS tweets and FB SIOA messages were sent in protest of the Hamas-tied propagandists, CAIR, speaking to Steinbrenner High School students in Florida, after I broke the story first (here) at Atlas on December 4th and then followed up with actual names and places at which the CAIR rep spoke and when, at the American Thinker here (December 19, 2011).
Back in early December, I advised readers of Hamas-linked groups speaking in Florida high schools. Co-conspirators in the largest terror funding trial in our nation's history were being invited into our schools to brainwash our children. CAIR is in the top five AFDI Threats to Freedom Index.
The school has changed its policy. We enjoy this powerful victory because of the vigilant parents who got involved and wrote me, giving me their first-person accounts of CAIR in their kids classrooms, which was published. Florida Family Association, Larissa Scott, thousands of Atlas readers, Jihadwatch readers, patriots, activists, Tea Party groups called, wrote, and emailed the many parties involved at the Hillsborough school district and Steinbrenner school.

Here is the new school policy concerning guest speakers:
Guest Speakers in our Schools
The district has reviewed its practices regarding guest speakers with the goal of supporting instruction and helping teachers and school principals in identifying appropriate speakers.
Guest speakers may be used as an extension of the district’s curriculums and the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards. As with any lesson, teachers should carefully consider whether a guest speaker has the appropriate experience and/or credentials necessary to promote a scholarly discussion of the topic being considered. Speakers should be used to educate and inform not advocate. Therefore, representatives of advocacy groups should not be considered appropriate.
The following guidelines are intended to assist teachers and principals to make confident and appropriate choices of guest speakers.
The district instructional division will act as a resource for teachers and will be prepared to recommend speakers as well as the subject for which they would be appropriate speakers;
Teachers will provide their principals with the name, credentials, and subject matter when they plan to schedule a guest speaker;
Teachers will work with guest speakers to establish an outline of the speaker’s presentation: including the teacher’s desired outcomes of the presentation and its alignment with the Next Generation Sunshine State Standards and course curriculum.
Tapping into the resources of our community enhances the educational experiences of our students and enables teachers to bring lessons alive with guests who possess valuable knowledge, skills, or experiences.
Florida Family Association reports:
The Hillsborough County School District Communications Officer Stephen Hegarty informed Florida Family Association in his email dated February 17, 2012 “I'm not aware of any plans for any CAIR officials to address our students.” Mr. Hegarty’s statement was in response to Florida Family Association’s question “Is it possible for you to give us a few days notice before CAIR officials address students in the future?”
Parents must be able to refuse to subject their children to indoctrination or inculcation if the school board makes a poor or dangerous choise.
Each Hillsborough County School Board Member and the Superintendent of Schools received over 10,000 emails voicing opposition to CAIR officials addressing students.
School Board Chairman Candy Olson proclaimed a fanatical and emotionally charged defense of the teacher, Kelly Miliziano, who invited CAIR officials to address her classes. This indicates that the national attention directed at the school board and teacher over this issue was unwelcome, unwanted and therefore most likely undesirable in the future.
The School District will never vote for a policy statement to prohibit CAIR officials from indoctrinating students. The school district fears that such action would invite a costly law suit.
Florida Family Association will continue to file more public records requests asking for more information from the school district to determine if an invitation has been made prior to the engagement. If that occurs Florida Family Association plans to call for parents and neighbors from the area and patriots from around Tampa Bay to protest on that day in front of that school.
