Ava Aston is a recording artist who happens to be a conservative from New York (booya!). She was moved to write and record this song ("WE THE PEOPLE") because of the coming election. Her desire to write this song came out of her frustration of what she saw happening in our country since the Obama administration took office. She wrote me:
My father came to America from Greece with $20 in his pocket before I was born to live the American Dream, he worked hard and became a success. I grew up with a respect and reverence for the amazing opportunity that is available here in America and no place else in the world. I have been trying to get this song and it's message out to the masses since I wrote it back in the fall of 2009. I did so in hopes of affecting the minds of the American voters and sharing the message of our founding fathers.
The reason for my writing to you today is that I was hoping you could possibly share the video with your members and/or list the video on your website, or anywhere that you may deem it to be appropriate to be exposed to our voting populous. I really feel it can help inspire people to get fired up to get involved as it is now or never!
Everyone must contribute to this fight in whatever way they can. We the people, indeed.

WOW!!! That was beautiful, strong and inspirational. Great lyrics and voice. Great way to start my day.

I'm usually not a nerd this way but did anyone notice at the 0:58 mark the CN (Canadian National) railcar in the background? Now on a serious note, my father came to Canada in the 1950's with the money in his pocket and the clothes on his back. It's disheartening to think of the legions of immigrants of the society they all laboured so hard to build is now slipping between our fingers.

The are a lot of conservative NYers. But some still don't that they are. In my experience the patriotic among us are Jews born in the former Soviet Union.

Great voice and the song is spot on. Too bad this isn't being played on music stations across this country. She really sees the reality of what is taking place. Good to know there are young people who "get it"!! Thanks Pam for putting in on so we can hear and share it.
