Our help will help the clinic give care for concussed Marines while in Afghanistan. The clinic offers concussion care, sports and family medicine, mental health care, physical and occupational therapy, and acupuncture. Over the last eight months, CRCC has maintained a 97.7 percent return to battle rate, proving their concept to be effective. This an excerpt from the field, from Lt Commander Kathleen Ditto, aka “Katie Bug”’s email: “Yesterday was a
slow day compared to the rest of this week for me. I only had 9 patients.They all have complaints of ringing of the ears, headaches, troubles sleeping, irritability, light sensitivity, noise sensitivity, motion sensitivity, depressive symptoms, loss of appetite etc. Those are the guys who didn't witness their buddy's arms and legs get blown off (sorry to be graphic, but it is happening weekly). Most of those guys, who were on foot when an IED went off ( leading to more significant injury) typically (and understandibly) have even more issue with anxiety, night terrors etc.”They’ve been there for us, ready for the ultimate sacrifice, just to make sure we’re all safe. It is now OUR turn to do something for them. So we’re holding the private viewing of Ms. Geller’s documentary and she will be in attendance, since she’s been an ongoing troop supporter.
