I'm a senior citizen, a fan of Conservative talk radio. On Saturday, around noon, I watched the commies and jihadists from a safe distance in the Union Square area. Then I gave up and left. The sight was exciting in a negative way, but I did not want to add myself to their number, by getting too close. From your column below, I gather that there were also counter protestors. This is news to me.
  Anyway, I did not want to get involved. I did what I considered the smart thing - hopped on a bus, and got the hell out of there. It  reminded me of eerie World War II movie sequences of Europeans watching the march of occupying armies, marching in jackboots, entering their towns.

Linda, I went out about 2:20 and the pukes were marching down Bdway. They must have started at Union Square and then headed downtown. Pre-printed signs. Probably bussed in by the SEIU and other unions. A lot of the signs were already sitting in garbage cans - where they belonged.

This absurdity and madness is about to hit the hard wall of economic reality in the Mideast and elsewhere-but especially in the Muslim Mideast. The region is going to face famine (largely because of the enormous rise of food demand (wheat etc.) from a more affluent Asia)-and the Muslim culture produces no wealth (except oil) to feed themselves.

Spengler of Asia Times, in a series of articles, sees very clearly what's about to happen. Egypt (the land of the clit-snippers and El-Sham of the cursed mosque) is going to be hit hardest.

Most of the turmoil in the Muslim Mideast is related to the rising worldwide food prices and the sense of entitlement of many Muslims there that the Unbelievers have to feed Muslims.

Economic reality may make the region see that Islam is the problem, the reason why the region produces no wealth (high-tech or otherwise-except oil) so that they will finally stop pointing fingers at Jews and America for their problems.

(The economic-political model for survival in the region is Israel. Islam is the problem and it's going to bring famine to the region.)

Pamela, this is really bad. They have been molding the American mind for decades, and they know what buttons to push. The signs say stop the war, jobs instead of war, Muslims for Peace Coalition. (I wouldn’t be surprised if a well known Madison Ave. agency is behind this campaign.) They make any opposition to that verse look like hordes of bloody and hateful monsters, us, are against peace. This is a psychological campaign, and very well thought through.

It puts us in an impossible situation. People who are not aware of the danger we are in (and believe me they are in the millions), will agree with this “peaceful” campaign signs and their bearers. Who wouldn’t?

The Brotherhood is deceiving everybody throughout the world. Many people act out of ignorance, but others out of greed, just as HC says.

I'd rather see the Middle East blow up in flames and walk and ride a bike rather than keep putting up with this continuous humiliation Americans are enduring, and which they are not even aware of.

Pamela, do you think that an information campaign, publishing open letters to the American public in the main newspapers would be an option? Many issues could be addressed in this way: the insulting way the remains of 41% of the 9/11 victims will be disposed, as well as the endless grief their loved ones have been put through since that September morning?

How can New Yorkers allow having their victims treated in such an offensive way, when the Pentagon victims and their families were given a dignified and honorable treatment? Aren’t all Americans equal in this land? How can we, the people, keep accepting this travesty? Let's have a public and offensive action? And I mean offensive. Words and well documented facts (like the ones you make public in this blog) can be demolishing. There are also some other respected experts who can be very persuasive as to the reality the Western civilization is facing. Let them be heard in hard copy publications! Let’s paste the newspapers with the truth, and bury the enemy under it!

WHAT WE SHOULD REALLY BE WORRRIED ABOUT.. The ticking time bomb of the Arab world, set to blow up in about 20 years-or less.

Just an observation on the future of Arab nations...

In 2010 they import about 50% of their food, with a population of about 330 million. When this increases to 500 million in 20 yrs, they'll need to find an extra 34% extra food (they are very limited in domestic production by water shortages and usable land.)

There is going to be a massive problem at this stage. Partially from global food prices being massively higher due to climate change and overall higher global population/demand. But a big issue will be that by then non-oil dependant technology for energy will be cheaper than oil (oil is getting more expensive and the alternatives get cheaper over time- we are almost at parity for solar now). What this means is that some time in the next couple of decades the critical point will be reached for oil where it is no longer the cheapest method of energy production, and the price per barrel will crash through the floor. This will leave the Arab world with the ability to only produce about 1/2 to 1/3 of the calories it needs, but having virtually no money to spend on imported foods.

They are all going to starve, and start looking towards greener lands. We could end up with about 300 million starving Arabs fleeing into America and Europe. We need to put in stringent barriers to them before this, if we don't we are all going to end up with SIZEABLE Muslim populations in every country (a 1/4-ish at least). That's not a Europe I'd care to live in.
