Can he be brought before the Juvenile Court for "experimenting" with a bomb? I doubt his chemistry teacher would approve of this experiment.

In Britain he'd get an ASBO, for what that's worth...

There is NOTHING I have ever seen in life as DISGUSTING as islame.

Just a hobby, nothing wrong with it.
All kids like things that go boom after all...

And as a Muhammedan he's of course inviolate by all but Sha'ria law, which no doubt condones it as long as no Muhammedans get killed.

Al-Gruber !!

Ah...youthful folly! I find it interesting that there was an acknowledgement that he was even muslim (I suppose a bomb exploding is a little difficult to deny!). When the british arrested five people last week for a plot to kill the pope, the american press dared not mention that they were muslim...you had to read the british press to get those det! It's a shame that so many people in this country have their arses so far up their behinds when it comes the true nature of islam and what their real agenda is!

Re: Maine: Muslim Teen Sets off Chemical Bomb near Mosque
--------------------
The problem here isn't Muslims, but the Western-Centric"tolerance" peddlers who project their prejudices on the Qu'ran. Islam has to be studied for itself, for its actual beliefs, not from a Western-Centric PC that pretends there is some difference between "moderate" Islam and real Islam. The Western-Centric "tolerance" peddlers are condescending and profoundly cowardly-dishonest, or ignorant in distinguishing between "moderate" Islam and the "Islamic fundamentalist."

There is no "moderate" Islam. That is a condescending Western-Centric concept.

(Ibn Warraq, page 11,Why I am Not a Muslim: The term "Islamic fundamentalist" is in itself inappropriate, for there is a vast difference between Christianity and Islam. Most Christians have moved away from the literal interpretation of the Bible; for most of them, "it ain't necessarily so." Thus we can legitimately distinguish between fundamentalist and non fundamentalist Christians. But Muslims have not moved away from the literal interpretation of the Koran; all Muslims-not just a group we have called "fundamentalist"-believe that the Koran is literally the word of God.")

In addition, the Western-Centric have to understand that the later (chronological) violent suras of the Qu'ran cancel the earlier (chronological) "peaceful" verses tht are peddled to the Dhimmis and Polytheists, and that Islam is not a religion of peace. It is essentially a political-governmental ideology (very similar to Nazism in its Qu'ran view of the Jewish people) that should not be "tolerated" as it currently exists. "Tolerance" is a vice in this matter.

(Ibn Warraq, page 115,Why I am Not a Muslim: "Now we see how useful and convenient the doctrine of abrogation is in bailing scholars out of difficulties. Of course, it does pose a problem for apologists of Islam, since all the passages preaching tolerance are found in the Meccan, i.e., early suras, and all the passages recommending killing, decapitating, and maiming are Median, i.e., later: "tolerance" has been abrogated by "intolerance." For example, the famous verse at Sura 9.5, "Slay the idolaters wherever you find them," is said to have canceled 124 verses that dictate tolerance and patience.")

I am an optimistic American and believe that ultimately reason and truth will prevail in this matter. But it will take time for reason and truth to prevail in this matter.

Maybe it wasn't a 13 year old.
A 23 year old "experimenting" would invite the ATF which might be an invitation the mosque does not wish to extend.

Maine: Muslim Teen Sets off Chemical Bomb near Mosque, no big deal,
Men arrested in Gateshead over suspected Koran burning, big deal

Men arrested in Gateshead over suspected Koran burning

Six Tyneside men have been arrested after filming themselves apparently burning copies of the Koran on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.

Police said the men, all from the Gateshead area, were detained after a video appeared on the internet.

They were arrested on suspicion of inciting racial hatred and released on bail pending further inquiries.

Plans by a US preacher to burn copies of the Koran on 11 September resulted in widespread condemnation.
'Mutual respect'

In a joint statement, Northumbria Police and Gateshead Council said: "The kind of behaviour displayed in this video is not representative of our community as a whole.

"Our community is one of mutual respect and we continue to work together with community leaders, residents and people of all faiths and beliefs to maintain good community relations."

Two men were arrested on 15 September and a further four on 22 September.

In the video a group of men wearing tea towels are seen pouring fuel over what appear to be copies of the Koran and setting light to them.

Plans by a US preacher Terry Jones to burn copies of the Koran, sparked worldwide protests and brought condemnation from American president Barack Obama.

Maybe muslims have a difficult brain condition. I was just listening to a lecture that males in general have less capasity for controlling their emotions - and that can be seen in the amount of brain's gray stuff in different parts. Kaukasians have been always warlike: maybe it's a brain thing? (Oh, no: I'm not a (e)racist, just trying to figure out the amount of frustration in the muslim men...)

NOw now, calm down. Islam is the religion of peace, right? This chemical bomb was nothing more then a teenager practicing what he was taught in church by his Iman. Nothing wrong with that, just ask the Obamanation and they will tell you it is harmless and we are Islamaphobic.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took this information off the Maine website. It seems this kid should be investigated, the area surrounding the explosion needs to be investigated too. The kid is 13 and not some half wit, he knows right from wrong and what explosives are going to do. We don't live in the sixties anymore. The damage he could have caused is enough to have him hauled off in hand cuffs. Where is this kids parents? What kind of supervision did he have in the parking lot of a Mosque? I can't imagine how this sounds as though it's going to be dealt with, by just a slap on the kids wrist. I want to know more now.

Maines State Fire Marshal is: John C. Dean:

Fireworks Regulations:

Fireworks Are Illegal in The State of Maine
It is the duty of the Investigations division of the State Fire Marshal's Office to enforce the following legislation.

"Fireworks" means any combustible or explosive composition or substance; any combination of such compositions or substances; or any other article which was prepared for the purpose of producing a visible or audible effect by combustion, explosion, deflagration or detonation, including blank cartridges or toy cannons in which explosives are used, they type of balloon which requires fire underneath to propel it, firecrackers, torpedoes, skyrockets, roman candles, bombs, rockets, wheels, colored fires, fountains, mines, serpents, or other fireworks of like construction; any fireworks containing any explosive substance or flammable compound; or any other device containing any explosive substance or flammable compound. (it continues..see website)

Investigations Division
State Fire Investigators are sworn law enforcement officers in the State of Maine with major responsibilities. Among these responsibilities is the task of conducting investigations of fires and explosions for origin and cause. Fires are classified in one of three ways, accidental, intentional human element, or undetermined, and it is up to the investigator to classify a fire as such. If it is determined that a fire is an arson (intentional human element), the investigator completes interviews and gathers evidence to determine suspects of the crime of Arson (Class A), under the Maine Criminal Statutes 17-A.

All fire scene, explosions, and other types of investigations are documented in any of several ways. Photographs (including digital),video tapes, diagrams, and any information obtained are documented in the form of tape recorded interviews, written statements, or a summary of interviews. Boy who found lighter suspended from NJ school
(AP)

Officials suspended a fifth-grader in New Jersey who found a lighter on his way to school.

Jamesburg school superintendent Gail Verona told The Home News Tribune of East Brunswick the lighter had the potential to compromise student safety.

But the 11-year-old boy's father questioned why school officials consider the lighter a weapon.

Patrick Halpin called police Wednesday to say there were weapons on school property because teachers at the Grace Breckwedel Middle School had lighters in the building.

Halpin says he was a "little irate" because his son, who is a Boy Scout, never flicked the lighter.

The superintendent says a weapon is anything that "has the potential to cause harm."

Jamesburg Police Chief Martin Horvath says he believes the school took appropriate action.

Information from: Home News Tribune, http://www.mycentraljersey.com

It can only be a matter of time before these types of bungled efforts begin to be successful.

Crazy kid, huh..

As long as the little bomb builders build and keep their bombs at the site of Mosques I'm cool with them building them in the pursuit of Jihad.

http://www.maine.gov/dps/fmo/research/documents/NASFM-JuvenileFiresetterResearchReport.pdf

Above is called The Juvenile "Firesetter" Intervention Research project.

If the National Association of State Fire Marshalls went out of their way to create a 73 page report submitted anually to the Department of Justice's Office of Juvenile Justice and delinquency prevention then what is going to be done with this 13 year old? I read a comment from a parent who said that her child was apprehended by police on July 4th for having possession of illegal fireworks on that day too.
I want to know if this 13 year old is going to be treated the same and if this is going to be viewed as a serious offense or not?

No worry here, our fearless leader states we can absorb a terrorist attack..

Walt...
No worry here, our fearless leader states we can absorb a terrorist attack..

What does he mean we? Once the Lone Ranger and Tonto were riding Indian territory when they were surounded on all sides...The Lone Ranger said, we're sourounded 'Tonto', what are we going to do? To which Tonto relied,' What do you meanum 'WE' white man?...

I agree with skeptical...the mosque probably claimed a 13 year old did it because to admit the bomb was built by an adult would bring much more scrutiny from law enforcement. Regardless, law enforcement should get a warrant for the mosque, then shut it down once they rid it of all its weapons, ammunition, bombs, and plans for jihad against Americans. Mosques are military outposts (with a religious veneer) for the Islamic fascists to use in jihad against our country. Why are we allowing them? If the Nazis called themselves a "religion" and tried to build forts/"houses of worship" here in the 1930's, would we have allowed it? Why are we allowing our enemies to build and maintain military forts (mosques) here now? When a "house of worship" is also a place where bombs are built, weapons are stored, and plans are made to overthrow America's government/Constitution and replace it with Sharia Law, then it is no longer a "house of worship" but rather a house of sedition, and as such, should be shut down.

@ Frank said..."Most Christians have moved away from the literal interpretation of the Bible"

Frank, what's to move away from? The Bible's New Testament urges followers to have courage, do good works, and help widows and orphans. Jesus urges his followers to forgive and move on. What's wrong with a literal interpretation of any of that?

I think Warriq had stoning in mind and other funky things. I think it's OK to be literal in the kind things-like the Jesus' beatitudes. I think the beatitudes can be taken literally without putting unbelievers in fear.

Assuming the story as reported is accurate, isn't this actually a positive development: 1) elders reported pyro to police, and, 2) nobody tried to fake a hate crime?

I say "pyro" because given the age and gender of the suspect, making something explode doesn't automatically reveal greater malign intent, here jihad. But to not consider jihad for PC, or any other, reasons would be crazy.

If a person from any other religion (e.g., Buddhists) has done similar "activities" that a Muslim (young or old) does in America, American govt. would have banned that religion in America.

But, when Muslims do "Jihad activities" on America, President Bush II says, "Islam is a religion of peace!"

If Hindus had a religious text similar to al-Quran or al-Hadis, American government would have banned all Hindus from America.

When the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, American government bombed Hiroshima & Nagasaki with nuclear weapons and, as a result, the entire Japanese population came under ultimate CHANGE once and for all.

When Muslims from Saudi Arabia & Egypt attacked America after receiving training from Afghanistan, American government started NATION-BUILDING in Afghanistan instead of using nuclear weapons to CHANGE the course of Islamic History once and for all.

It was a chemical bomb, inside water bottle. The damage that could have resulted from the explosion could have triggered a fire or worse, the undetinated bomb was found under a car nearby. This story needs to be followed very very closely. Let see who does their homework on this. The District Attorneys office is doing an investigation is what the news said.

In response to Frank...

I have not yet read read Itbn Warraq’s book but as a former muslim I assume he’s is more well-versed on the topic than most of us in the west. Most of what you quote from him, I have read or heard elsewhere. My understanding is that it’s not just an issue of muslims having not moved on, i.e., modernized, but rather a spiritual nexus that deems the Qu’ran immutable, no questions asked, none entertained.. Since, as muslim’s believe, the qu’ran is the untainted word of god, how could man possibly improve upon it? Ask any muslim and they will tell you that this is correct. The qu’ran is sacrosanct and beyond reproach. The qu’ran in conjunction with the hadith(s) (written accounts of the sayings and actions of Mohammad) form an instruction manual, if you will, that governs all aspects of a muslim’s life: from the heavenly (spiritually) to all things earthly.

There simply is no separation of church and state under islam. Unlike Christianity where Jesus exhorts us to give to “caesar what is caesar’s” and “give to god what is god’s” (Matthew 22: 20-22), no such distinction exists in islam, it all belongs to allah. Which is why muslims believe, even the so-called moderates, that islam is above all other religions, though as you indicate there is no such thing as a moderate muslim. There are only two types of muslims: actively practicing muslims and what I have dubbed “minnows,” which are muslims in name only (or, more to the point, by birth only). Just like you have chinos (Christians in name only). They are easily recognizable. They are the ones that insist that “Love your neighbor,” is god’s greatest command (see Luke 10:27 on why that is not quit accurate).

While I admire you for your faith that truth and reason will win the day, I’m not so sure. The multi-culti PC set is so entrenched that it fails to see the threat that islam poses for freedom-loving people the world over. We, as a country, need to rise up against this totalitarian ideology known as Islam, the tenets of which d (as presented in sharia) are wholly incompatible with our constitution. As such, we should not allow islam to dictate to us under the falsehood of religious freedom. Religious freedom and the shackles of sharia are two entirely different things that must be dealt with individually and not as a religious whole. Proponents of islam who are unhappy with this are free to leave the country…we’ll even help pack their bags. Those muslims who understand the tacit intent of separation of church and state inherent in our constitution and are willing to abide by the man-made laws of the land are welcome to stay.

Perhaps the world's Muslims should consider investing more in standard education and less in promoting brain washing children in military training camps, teaching them how to blow themselves up and cause maximum deaths of non Muslims!

http://crossmuslims.blogspot.com/2010/07/incredible-survey-enquete-incroyable.html

Ibn Warraq is a former Muslim, and it was the first book I read on the subject from a critical, not a PC (e.g. Karen "where's her brain?" Armstrong) view. It is well written, scholarly, and very readable. I recently suggested it to my sister for those reasons.

I recommend the book.

As for "reason"-I think that in the next 5 years that Muslims are going to have to pull a 10' tall rabbit out of their hats to fool the Dhimmis and polytheists anymore. A lot of people already know a lot about the real teachings of Islam, and many Muslim pejoratives (Dhimmi e.g.) are increasingly (jokingly) used by non-Muslims. Soon they'll be saying "Stop the al-taqiyya" when they want another person to stop BSing them).-LOL

Reason is going to be a big problem for Muslims in America.

Read Warraq's book Why I am not a Muslim for starters

So when I study chemistry, I wonder if it be ok with the ATF if I make an explosive? I guess only if I'm Islamic. Whether this person was 13 or not isn't the issue. The fact the law was broken and nothing is being done should concern us all. If this "kid" wasn't a Muslim with the PC fruitcakes twisting themselves into prezels to appease them, this "Person" would be arrested and this mosque investigated. After all, how being 13 makes this ok? Why are we allowing 13 year olds to play with something so dangerous? If an attack should occur in the near future in the same town, I'll wager the mosque won't even appear on the radar.

Betch'ya it was a The Works device.
Toilet cleaner "The Works" (HCl) + aluminum foil in a plastic pop bottle.
Exothermic reaction generates a lot of H2, bursting the bottle.
Unfortunately lots of teens have been making these for some time now.
They are dangerous, but hardly Sarin.

Just a hobby, nothing wrong with it.
All kids like things that go boom after all...

What you say is true. I grew up with cap guns and cherry bombs. Firecrackers and M80's too.

Did you know that you can make a rocket out of a strike-anywhere match? You wrap the head tightly with foil, then pierce the foil just behind the head of the match with a pin at about a 30 degree angle to the matchstick. You can make a launch platform from a bent paper clip. Just hold flame under the foil covered tip of the match until it lights and takes off. They can go up to 30 feet.

But the difference is that in my youthful days of pyromania I wasn't Islamically inspired. I had watched Niel Armstrong step on the moon and before that I had learned about Robert Goddard. Wasn't the first Nobel prize for the invention of dynamite? Because that invention save so many lives?

I think of the BATFE. How cool would that job be? Except for the tobacco I'm in to all of it!

But this punk was practicing in order learn how to cause harm. That's a Bozo No-No.

"The bomb went off in the lot between the Islamic Society and Back Bay Grill around 8:00 PM Tuesday night. Portland Police say ---Islamic elders came forward to tell them that a 13 year old ---from the Society was experimenting and was responsible for the bomb. Another bomb was also found undetinated [sic]...."

So,the Islamic Elders "Pinned it" on a JUVENILE 13 yr old ,and the Police and Media eat it up.
WHAT ABOUT the Elders'identification of the boy was SO CONVINCING that it was bought lock, stock, and barrel?
Taqyia/ Kitman/ DECEPTION

Beagle, from the linked article, I quote

"Police say it's unclear if charges will be filed against the teenagers."

Why is it unclear? A similar case in April, also without causing any related injury resulted these non-Muslim Teens Facing FELONY CHARGES

Note also that this Islamic Center/Masjid is headed by the local Deering High School Science Teacher:

"". . .Abdullahi Ahmed, president of the Islamic Society of Portland Ahmed, a science teacher at Deering High School who lives in Westbrook, came dressed in a business suit and a paisley tie. He is working on his doctorate at the University of Maine. He and his wife, a nurse, have four children."

Is it a coincidence that the article linked by Atlas refers to unidentified 'elders' from the mosque dismissing what they characterized as an 'experiment'? It wouldn't be in their best interests to reveal the science teacher's identity and relation to this mosque under these circumstances, now would it? It is also likely these 'elders' responded only after the arrival of the police - providing protective cover for their little explosive prodigy. You can bet your bottom dollar that had this 'experiment' been conducted by a non-believer, they would be all over the media demanding Felony and Hate Crime charges against the 'teen'.

This related video report also alludes to a second incendiary device being found. Again, I quote:

". . .Police then found a second device underneath a vehicle that was parked nearby, but they were able to disable it before it exploded."

I don't know about you, but I'm curious about whose vehicle was involved. Could it have been a zoning official or board member having dinner at the Back Bay Grill since- by coincidence, there is yet another dispute about a new mosque muscling into this Maine community. Video report: City, MCLU At Odds Over Mosque. While the zoning issues of this case are disputed in the courts, it appears Afghan Muslims in Maine are exempt from zoning laws as a deal cut in time for Ramadan. Despite caving with such compassionate tolerance, Portland City Hall Bomb Scare, 9/12/10

There was a suspicious suitcase in front of Portland's City Hall. Portland City Police blocked off all intersections leading into the area between 9:30 and 10:30 AM.

Take a look at the date of that incident . . .Ramadan officially ended.

Oh what a surprise. And why are they here in the first place?

This was my FIRST thought, too. It is easy to blame a 13 year old to avoid further investigation.

You're right.
They could have LOST their Restaurant and THEIR LIVES.

Be afraid, very afraid. Look there's one behind you!!!

I am so sick of your fawning "Of course it is a bad idea to burn a Koran, but you should have the right" B.S. that I'm ready to vomit! You know you do not really believe what you are saying, you are just telling a lie so politically correct people won't get mad at you. If someone were burning that famous book that Hitler wrote you would not make such fawning statements about it because it is GOOD to burn them! Well, hypocrite - The Mighty Koran is ten times as murderous as anything in Hitler's book! Why don't you tell the truth? Burning the Koran is a wonderful thing to do. After all, Muslim humans are not bad, they are good, but anybody would get in trouble who was required to read the Koran from a very early age - or Hitler's book! By burning the Koran you are making a statement that is vital and true, "This book is advocating and supporting out and out murder - that is why it is good to burn it! Murder is always evil and bad! Anything that says it is good is fatally flawed! Now why did I have to tell you all that? Wake up!

I called the Back Bay Grill. They verified that indeed this was an incident of a young kid pulling a stupid stunt.
Ya know, due diligence means you have to DO it. Apparently calling a restaurant is a bridge too far for most of this crowd.
Be afraid.
Be VERY afraid.
The boogie man is under your bed. {cue the JAWS theme}

So, Henry, I take it your presence here means you've been banned from BNI. Good for BNI, but bad for Atlas Shrugs.

Well, you'd better set this news outlet straight: http://www.wcsh6.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=129223

And this one, too: http://www.wgme.com/newsroom/top_stories/videos/wgme_vid_5145.shtml

I'm sure they're just dying to hear from a know-it-all liar like you.

Oh, you're such a big man, calling the restaurant to verify this incident of a "kid pulling a stupid stunt". I hate to rock your little peaceful world but "most of this crowd" have our eyes wide open, can read between the lines and know the truth about islam and it's worldwide and domestic intentions. The most dangerous boogie man is someone like you who just does'nt get it and never will. Actually I find it hard to even refer to you as a man since you seem to have no testosterone and your weakness and ignorance is frightening. Go find another site which won't offend your girly-girl sensibilities. Glad there are some REAL men and women on this site. Tim,time to go now and finish drinking your kool aid.

Good questions, which I can't answer. I guess over the years my standards have fallen to the point that I'm happy when they don't kill fifty and injure a hundred.

Uncle Joe is out there.
Be afraid.
Be VERY afraid!!!!!!!!!!!!

AuntieMadder! You don't like me? What you find wrong with what I say? What is BNI ? Why is the truth bad for Atlas Shrugs ? I can't believe you really find anything objectionable in what I posted - please explain. However, you are correct in your assumption that I have been banned often - but, what is BNI ?

I've been banned more than anybody on the internet - had to change my name more'm a hundred times. I don't use bad words, I just tell the truth, but the truth is not what comfortable people want to hear right now. But, you might as well know that I hate Ayn Rand. She loved abortion more than Obama, and in her favorite book, she supported terrorism. Lots of fools like her get under the radar by waving flag and country - don't be fooled. If the tree is rotten make the fruit rotten too. Anyone who supports the murder of little innocent babies in their most holy beds in the middle of their most sanctified night IS ALL BAD. I don't believe in witches, but Ayn Rand is as close to being a real one as one can get. Whats BNI? Tell me and I'll change my name and get back on.

Don't sweat getting kicked off of sites that hate what you post, figure out how to do it against their will - it is easy, goggle and learn - happy posting, THE TRUTH WILL OUT !

When I see the city from my window - no, I don't feel how small I am - but I feel that if a war came to threaten this, I would throw myself into space, over the city, and protect these buildings with my body."
