Uh, whose country? Brother Obama's latest slip of the foreign tongue.
Obama: Memorial Day is time to honor troops (hat tip Pamela H)
More than just barbecues and family time, Memorial Day is the chance to honor members of the military who made the ultimate sacrifice on behalf of their country, President Barack Obama
Within the hour, reporters who accompanied Obama to the cemetery in Elwood, Ill., were told the speech had been called off. The White House had released copies of Obama's prepared remarks in advance of his talk, but they were pulled back when the event had to be canceled."
Why pull back the remarks? Why not give his faux speech inside?
Obama, who has sent thousands of troops into war in Afghanistan with the most difficult, and some would say homicidal, ROE's, was not in Arlington today at the tomb of the unknown soldier. No, our Nancy boy spent Memorial day weekend next door to Farrakhan's house in Chicago. He calypso strutted over to Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery outside Chicago, but it was raining................. so he ran in from out of the rain. I kid you not.
A Downpour on Memorial Day in Illinois
The President was able to lay a wreath at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Illinois before it started raining, but was forced to cancel his planned remarks.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww....poor baby.
"Under the cover of a large umbrella, he told thousands gathered before him that while "a little rain never hurt anybody," nobody wanted "anybody struck by lightning." He asked people to return to their cars for their safety, and he retreated briefly to an administration building on the cemetery's grounds. Obama a few minutes later boarded a pair of buses to greet military families that came for the event.
Within the hour, reporters who accompanied Obama to the cemetery in Elwood, Ill., were told the speech had been called off. The White House had released copies of Obama's prepared remarks in advance of his talk, but they were pulled back when the event had to be canceled."
Obama has been criticized by some veterans groups for planning to attend a holiday service Monday at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery outside Chicago, instead of going to Arlington National Cemetery as presidents often do on Memorial Day and as he did last year. Vice President Joe Biden will be at Arlington this year. (here)

There was Thunder and Lightning in the cemetery in Elwood, Ill....imagine if he went to Arlington!...a mile wide Tornado?????...

Hi Pamela.
Seems like somehow God and the fallen ones couldn't stand his presence.
So he gave him a biblical treatment.

It rained, those who gave the greatest gift, layed down their lives for their fellow man looked down from Heaven and cryed at the charectorless pressance we call a President. The tears flowed strong and hard. Why, because for someone to claim to be a leader of the free world, yet at every turn insult those who have faught and died to keep it free. This would break the heart of the coldest soldier to wear a uniform.
I would like to say a pox on this man, but if I do.... There will be those who claim it was a racist remark.
3....2....1.....

I would not him for going to Lincoln National Cemetery instead of Arlington. However, to cancel his participation because of rain - there was a temporary pavilion tent over the ceremony site - smacks of wussification.

God wasn't cooperating for the photo-op backdrop.

Jane, I think it was a great photo op! The "mahdi" defying G-d by standing in a Lightening storm WITH A RAISED UMBRELLA! Wow, he's indestructible and has no fear. [sarc]
The black clouds were perfect allusion to the state of his soul and from whence he derives power.
it this doesn't show America the true man, I don't know what will. Who stands near live mikes (and teleprompter) in an electrical storm with an umbrella?????????

I remember during the campaign, zero was making a speech and the subject of terrorism came up because of a question from the crowd and zero said "well, the best way to protect you all is....." and I remember thinking, he just said protect you all, not protect US, well right then I knew the truth about this shit.

Obama is afraid of a little rain?
What so many brave soldiers have
given their lives for is far, far
greater than some rain!
Obama disgraces America!
