Mayor Bloomberg Backs 911 Mega Mosque

The Mayor backs the mosque, which is why the June 6th rally against the proposed mega mosque is so important. The supremacists must be shamed into withdrawing and not doing a victory dance on the hallowed burial ground of Ground Zero.

While I agree that that the government should keep its big fat nose out of religion (separation of mosque and state), I do not agree that the Mayor should publicly take one side if he really believes government should stay out of it. It's why I believe petitions to the Mayor are a waste of time. New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg has on his New York City Human Rights Commission the CAIR-NY's former President, Omar Mohammedi. Terror lawyer Mohammedi represents a number of organizations that are the defendants in a 9/11 lawsuit for the murder of 3000 innocent people. One of the organizations he is for is the World Assembly for Muslim Youth (WAMY), a Saudi-based group with offices around the globe that publishes incendiary materials against Jews and openly supports Hamas and violent jihad.

SIOA has called for his removal many times.

Bloomberg's human rights commissioner Mohammedi has also served as attorney for the Flying Imams, the six imams who were removed from a US Airways flight after passengers complained that they were acting suspiciously. According to Wikipedia, "Mohammedi filed a lawsuit on their behalf for unspecified damages, citing 'fear, depression, mental pain and financial injury" on the part of the imams.^[17]" He also initially filed suit against the passengers who complained, which would have had a chilling effect on anyone reporting suspicious behavior by Muslims in airports -- although that part of the suit was dropped after Republicans in Congress passed legislation to protect the passengers.

So we know what side of the jihad Bloomberg comes down on. He offered that the Times Square car bomb jihadi was probably upset about Obamacare.

As for holding out hope that the landmarks commission will save the day, don't. The Mayor controls the landmarks commission.

In a dangerous and increasing trend, the politicians are ignoring their constituents. All of them are in lockstep with the Islamic supremacists, as witnessed at the community board meeting Tuesday night. 

Imam Faisal Rauf should withdraw the proposal. It is hurting too many families and patriotic Americans. The war against the West is still being waged. The mega mosque will be the rallying cry for the universal caliphate -- a shrine to jihad at the cherished site of Islamic conquest.

The righteous, decent and tolerant thing to do would be for Imam Rauf and Daisy Khan to withdraw their plans for the mosque in the interest of "mutual understanding" and "mutual respect."

Bloomberg defends Ground Zero mosque as freedom-of-faith issue NY Post

In his fiercest defense yet of the mosque proposed near Ground Zero, Mayor Bloomberg declared yesterday that it must be allowed to proceed because the government "shouldn't be in the business of picking" one religion over another.

"I think it's fair to say if somebody was going to try, on that piece of property, to build a church or a synagogue, nobody would be yelling and screaming," the mayor said.

"And the fact of the matter is that Muslims have a right to do it, too."

Placing the proposed mosque two blocks from the World Trade Center site has led to an outcry from opponents, including family members of 9/11 victims, who contend the holy place at 45 Park Place would defile the memories of those who perished in the worst terror attack in US history.

Community Board 1 approved the project Tuesday night by a 29-1 vote after a raucous four-hour hearing in which nine members abstained.

The meeting got so heated that one young girl, whose father is Muslim and mother is Jewish and who went to testify in favor, decided instead to sit silently.

The issue also continues to fuel an intense debate on the Internet. One commenter likened a mosque near Ground Zero to a convent established on the grounds of Auschwitz. Pope John Paul II ordered the nuns to move in 1993 after years of protests from Jewish leaders.

But Bloomberg argued that blocking the 13-story mosque and Islamic cultural center would violate the essence of America.

"What is great about America and particularly New York is we welcome everybody, and if we are so afraid of something like this, what does that say about us?" asked the mayor.

"Democracy is stronger than this. You know the ability to practice your religion was one of the real reasons America was founded. And for us to just say no is just, I think, not appropriate is a nice way to phrase it

". . . If you are religious, you do not want the government picking religions, because what do you do the day they don't pick yours?"

Even with Bloomberg on board, the project still has to win approval of the city's Landmarks Preservation Commission, because the current building on the mosque site dates to 1857-58 and would have to be razed.

The landmark application has been pending since 1989 and was recently reinstated. The commission is scheduled to hold a hearing and a vote in the early summer.

The mosque's proponents say they are prepared to raise $100 million...

In a normal world, the building of a mosque would NOT be considered as a matter of religion but as a matter of a political deed. Islam is far more a political ideology than it is a religion. What Mayor Bloomberg fails to grasp is that unlike any other religion, islam is not merely a benign personal faith but is a totalitarian political ideology which seeks to conquer and subjugate non-muslims. It seeks to force others to become muslim or submit to islam or be killed. Our politicians must be made to understand this and stop treating islam like any other religion.
