Campus jihad continues. From the Orange County Register:

Twelve people were arrested this evening during a raucous lecture at UC Irvine where Israeli Ambassador Michael Oren came to talk about U.S.-Israel relations.

Oren was interrupted 10 times while trying to give his speech before 500 people at the UCI Student Center, where there was heavy security. Oren took a 20 minute break after the fourth protest, asked for hospitality and resumed his speech, only to be interrupted again by young men yelling at him every few minutes. Many members of the audience also applauded Oren.

After the 10th interruption, several dozens students who opposed Oren’s talk got up and walked out and staged a protest outside. It is not clear whether they were members of the UCI Muslim Student Union, which issued an email earlier in the day condemning Oren’s appearance on campus.

As a UC alum, I'm sickened by the level of Islamification that has taken place at UCI. It was present on the San Diego campus in the 80's, but never to this degree. Nowadays, I warn my colleagues with college-bound kids about the threat level. And still, folks don't want to hear it or believe it. I've had people literally look over their shoulders when I warn them, as if I were telling a dirty joke.

Come to think of it, perhaps that's understandable - given my collection of jokes. Did you hear the one about the twenty dollar bill?

Anyone know if that was a professor at the end of the tape actually telling the students they have effectively failed their exams as they were hustled out of the auditorium? That's a good sign . . .a small one, but a heck of a good start. Every student that was escorted from the auditorium for disrupting the event should fail and be removed from campus - at the parents expense. And if they are here on a student visa - pull the damn visa. It's a unique privilege to come to this country and benefit from it's universities. And privileges should be revoked under these circumstances.

I think that the disruptors were surprised that they got thrown out and arrested. So many times they are just allowed to shut down a talk down and the speaker never gets to finish his speech.

This time, it did continue and partly because the good Ambassador was BRAVE and Intelligent.

I don't understand how it got this bad. After the first outburst, the security should've known that there was going to be a staggered effort to disrupt the event. Very sad that it has come to this. The West is being beaten down with it's own evil academic concoctions based around moral relativism. How is it that we let our campuses be overrun this way? Is it because of the liberalism that reigns supreme in them? How is it that the liberal establishment has allowed itself to be beaten, even on the fronts of freedom of expression, freedom of the press, freedom of inquiry? Remember that even Yale University Press has succumbed to Islamo-fascism. I respect the Ambassador for not ending his talk, which was worth hearing. But even having to give kudos for that says as much about the problem we face via the death-worshiping "indigestible mass" in the U.S. as it does about anyone's courage. I was there. I have been a part-time teacher at UCI for 12 years, and for the past 4 or so have been fighting the MSU and their speakers. What happened Monday night was a disgrace, but not surprising. For years UCI has allowed the MSU to bring speakers onto our campus who are not only calling for the destruction of Israel, but are anti-American and anti-semitic. Complaints by Jewish students have turned on deaf ears. The admin. is terrified of the MSU. As a result half of the Jewish students on our campus (mostly females) admit to being intimidated.

I created my blog (fousesquawk) largely to document the excesses at UCI. I have also publicaly criticized the university for their weakness. As a result, I am not exactly popular with the admin.

One good thing came out of this event. A few hundred Jewish members of the community saw first hand that there is a problem at UCI. They are outraged. Many are calling for the chancellor to resign. As a result of what happened Monday night, no one can ever say again that there is no problem at UCI. Thank you for covering this on your blog. What we need is public attention to what is going on here at UCI and campuses all over America.

What happened at UC-I disgusts me but it does not surprise me. Mr. Fouse, I tip my hat to you for standing up to these thugs - I know that is not easy, especially when the administration is such a bunch of whimps.

I used to work for UC (UCSF Medical Center in San Francisco) and I saw the MSA at work there. But folks, it is NOT just the universities where the MSA is at work - these lowlifes have even infested the community colleges. I had a couple of run-ins with them at Sacramento City College a few years ago (Pam, you know all the details) and the administration at City would do nothing about their obscene conduct towards non-Muslim students (especially those they either knew where Jews or suspected where Jewish).

Folks, if you want to do something, email the President of UC (http://www.ucop.edu/) and the Members of the Board of Regents and raise this issue with them. This goes DOUBLE for those of you that are California residents, since your tax money helps pay for those students to attend UC-I. Also, California residents: raise this issue with your State Assembly and State Senate member.
