Another Muslim arrested in the most notorious and far reaching jihad funding case in US history. Heavy sentences were handed out to the five Muslims found guilty of funneling more than $12 million to the "Palestinian" Islamic militant group Hamas after the U.S. declared it a terrorist organization in 1995.
I encourage all of my readers to research and read the documents that were filed during the Holy Land trial, in which CAIR (Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas linked) was named an un-indicted co-conspirator. The documents will shock you. There is so much, and the infiltration is shocking and astounding. The North American Islamic Trust (NAIT) is a Saudi-backed organization based in Plainfield, Indiana, that owns Islamic properties and promotes waqf (Islamic endowments) in North America. It is the financial arm of the Muslim Students Association. They have financed 80% of the mosques in America.
NAIT finances and holds titles to mosques, Islamic schools, and other real estate to safeguard and pool the assets of the American Muslim community, develops financial vehicles and financial products that are compatible with both Shari'ah and American law, publishes and distributes Islamic literature, provides legal advice to Muslim organizations, and facilitates and coordinates Islamic community projects.[3]
In 2007, NAIT was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation terrorist trial, as was board member Jamal Said.[4]
NAIT is a not-for-profit entity that qualifies as a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. NAIT was established in 1973 in Indiana by the Muslim Students Association (MSA) of the United States and Canada, the predecessor of the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), by some of the same Muslim Brotherhood members who started the MSA.[5][6] ISNA's President, Dr. Ingrid Mattson Mattson is an former member of the NAIT board of directors.[7] A sister organization under the same name registered a few years later in the Canadian province of Ontario.[8]
NAIT supports and provides services to ISNA, MSA, their affiliates, and other Islamic centers and institutions.[9]
Michigan: Muslim indicted in case linked to Holy Land Foundation creeping Hat tip to @trclancy, from the Detroit News.
Detroit — Federal prosecutors today unsealed a 2008 indictment against a Dearborn man accused of working for the Holy Land Foundation for Relief and Development, a charity designated as a bankroller of terrorism by the U.S. government in 2001.
Syrian-born Mohamad Mustapha Ali Masfaka, 47, also known as Abu Ratib, is charged with making false statements to the FBI, making false statements in his application for U.S. citizenship and attempting to unlawfully obtain U.S. citizenship.
Masfaka, who was arrested when he crossed the Ambassador Bridge to Detroit from Windsor on Thursday, appeared in U.S. District Court today and was ordered held pending a detention hearing Monday. He appeared without a lawyer but said he planned to hire one.
The indictment alleges Masfaka worked for the Holy Land Foundation in 1997 and 1998, acting as the organization’s Detroit-area representative, and cashed checks from the group totaling about $5,000.
