It was the most obscene display of any President in modern times. I was disgusted and embarrassed by his words, his lack of connection to what makes this nation who she is - then to have him bring up "due process"..that is when I think I blacked out.

I happen to think that he "calibrated" this speech pretty well. The soft allusion to Islam, in the context of affirming that no faith would countenance the massacre of innocents, was just about right, considering the somberness of the sad occasion. But while calibration is a fine thing as far as it goes, it will never make up for lack of heart, for lack of love of country and truth.

The acid test is not what Mr. Obama says or how eloquently he says it (we well should have learned that by now, yet already the media is again shamelessly fawning over his rhetorical skills); it is in what he does. And so far all I've seen is politically correct denials that Islam is anything but a religion of peace, and worry that there might be an anti-Muslim backlash. The disruptive cost of speaking the truth in this matter is evidently too high for even presidents and generals.

I live in Germany and here there are many organizations that support Israel, I belong to "Christen an der Seite Israels", founded by a wonderful man named Harald Eckert who works 25 hours a day for the sake of Israel. He's been interviewed many times on Israeli TV and often takes people there. Last January he organized a big event in the Bavarian Parliament, and on the coming 26. Nov is his latest event, two Americans who live in israel will be giving a praise and prayer evening. And there's a wonderful Swiss Pastorin, Christine Dietrich, who founded Politically Incorrect [PI], I'm a member and we go to meetings where pro-Islamic people speak and start pestering them with questions, etc. Christine Dietrich translated Robert Spencer's talk recently in Berlin. Here is an excerpt from a speech by her: "For today's event I've decided to take a Biblical blessing from the Old Testament because as I said before it's through Israel we are blessed. Our destiny depends on Israel......The temple's blessing accompanies us wherever we are as long as we remember it's in, with and through Israel we are blessed."
There's also "Anglicans for Israel" and many other such organizations. I am also a member of Keren Hayesod, which collects money to support many charitable projects in Israel. So these are some of the things that are going on in the world. But if you really want to support good old America, fight Obama and help Israel, join CUFI. Look it up in the Internet, find out for yourself. It's the best thing going at the moment.
