Pam - Thank you! I missed seeing the Sistine Chapel when last in Rome, but I have the joy of looking forward to this incredible chapel. Is there a larger photo somewhere?

DeeDee

I've never seen a photo like this one! Thank you Pamela.

Irrespective of one's NON Muslim beliefs, the picture posted represents one of scholarship, civility and a belief in a Creator of man and the Universe, as opposed to a belief in a destroyer of man and the Universe.

The time has long passed for Non Muslims, believers in God, the world over to unite against the ideology and followers of Islam and the Anti GOD,allah.

We all have one common enemy... Islam,Satans spawn,Sociopaths Inc.

Ms. Atlas:
Thanks very much for posting this: first time I recall seeing the results of the extensive cleaning/restoration of the ceiling completed many years ago now.
Sincerely hope that you are getting a well-deserved family respite from all your recent travel and work, in defense of ALL moral civilization and Western culture (an ex. of which you graciously provided above), so much of which seems to be in greater risk than ever.

Because

  • "I would give the greatest sunset in the world for one sight of New York's skyline. Particularly when one can't see the details. Just the shapes. The shapes and the thought that made them. The sky over New York and the will of man made visible. What other religion do we need? And then people tell me about pilgrimages to some dank pesthole in a jungle where they go to do homage to a crumbling temple, to a leering stone monster with a pot belly, created by some leprous savage. Is it beauty and genius they want to see? Do they seek a sense of the sublime? Let them come to New York, stand on the shore of the Hudson, look and kneel. When I see the city from my window - no, I don't feel how small I am - but I feel that if a war came to threaten this, I would throw myself into space, over the city, and protect these buildings with my body.

Ayn Rand at 100: "Yours is the Glory"

  • Aynrandstamp_1

  • Speaking to the unnamed, unchampioned, beating heart of her new land, Ayn was to say: 'Yours is the glory.'"
A man whose ability and independence leads others to reject him, but who perseveres nevertheless to achieve his values. Man as an individual, as a creator. What's the most depraved type of human being? Not a sadist or a murderer or a sex maniac or a dictator; "The man without a purpose." Yet most people seem to go through their lives without a clearly defined purpose.

Barter

  • Life has Loveliness to sell,
    All beautiful and splendid things,
Blue waves whitened on a cliff,
Soaring fires that sways and swing,
    And children's faces looking up,
    Holding wonder like a cup

    Life has Loveliness to sell,
Music like a curve of Gold,
Scent of pinetrees in the rain,
Eyes that love you, arms that hold,
And for your spirit's still delight,
Holy stars that star the night.

Spend all you have for loveliness,
    Buy it and never count the cost;
For one white singing hour of Peace
Count many a year of strife well lost
And for a breath of ecstasy
Give all you have been, or could be.
