Love! Music! Art! Hey, it's why I do what I do.
LONDON.- In January 2010, the Royal Academy of Arts will stage a landmark exhibition of the work of Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890). The focus of the exhibition will be the artist’s remarkable correspondence. Over 35 original letters, rarely exhibited to the public due to their fragility, will be on display in the main galleries of Burlington House, together with around 65 paintings and 30 drawings that express the principal themes to be found within the correspondence. Thus the exhibition will offer a unique opportunity to gain an ... More

Y'all go and relax Pamela.... More than well earned and deserved.
I'll handle this one from here..........
http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/132354
The opening line of the Israel National News article says it all…..
“European Union foreign policy chief Javier Solana is taking steps to move the establishment of a Palestinian Authority state through the United Nations, whether Israel agrees to it or not.”
When the UN sticks their noses in (not if…. because it is coming, whether it’s this time or another) and an actual vote is taken, I see the following things occurring…… No, I’m not smoking wacky tobacky or drinking.
1. Obama orders a ‘yea’ vote for a Palestinian State ; Hillary casts the vote herself in The UN main chamber and announces that all aid to Israel will be cut off if Israel objects or puts up a fight ; Israel will most assuredly walk out of the chamber before the vote and maybe even withdraw from The UN and obviously will refuse to recognize the UN mandate.
2. Israel then calls the vote itself an act of war against a sovereign nation, declares “it’s on”, expels the US Ambassador, recalls most if not all of their own ambassadors world-wide and turns the IDF loose on those who want to eliminate the nation and Jews.
3. Iran immediately stands up for their Muslim Brothers and attacks Israel with everything they’ve got and maybe even a nuke or two they will be given as a “good luck gift” (from the Norks or Russia).
4. The world catches fire.
5. Obama will call a press conference, say only that he’s “deeply concerned” and then President Jihadist heads out to play hoops with his buds.
Sound crazy?
Some folks think so. Some don’t.
All this because of bunch of hate-filled supposed-humans think everybody needs to stick their arses up in the air 57.2 times per day facing towards a black stone sunk into a backwards country while they beseech a long-dead murderous pedophile to help them kill Jews, Americans and other infidels, plus have the dead guy grant each of them 72 virgin goats and sheep all dolled up and ready to party.
Did I miss anything ?

Someone said that Take Five was the greatest small piece of music composed in the 20th century.
What was the greatest minature piece in the 19th century? The "Prelude in C # Minor"? http://tinyurl.com/kw8n8m
I know it was probably the most popular piece in the early 20th century, but it was composed in 1898, I think.

Take Five was one of my dad's favorite songs. We played it in the church at his funeral. Every time I hear it I think of him.

A slight correction, Rachmaninoff's Prelude in C sharp minor was composed in 1892. It still was the most popular minuture piece in the first half of the 20th century.

Damn, Mr. Solomon, you knocked that one out of the park!
And I'm guessing you are 100% correct in your assessments.

In October of 2007 I was fortunate to visit Amsterdam, where I viewed many of Van Gogh's famous paintings; then I went to Paris where I viewed even more of them in the Musee D'Orsay.
