WTG!!! You are a "Shining Star".. So well put. You give me hope.
I am waiting for Fox News to call ya..

Your enthusiasm is infectious! :) What I found quite interesting was her comment that she would support candidates from any party, or no party at all. She's gonna go out there and throw her support to WORTHY candidates, rather than those pre-chosen by whoever's pulling the RINO strings. And this time there won't be a McCain team to muzzle her. Why is it I no longer feel desperate about the next 3-1/2 years? Conservatives finally have a champion around whom they can rally.

While I was not able to hear the entire speech, which was extemporaneous -IMAGINE!- I did hear something coming together in her mind. It is a coherent message, or vision, with which to campaign and get the people's, the Conservatives', mind focused. When she said, "smaller government, free enterprise, strong national security, and support for our troops and energy independence," preceded by her expressions of love for Alaska and our country, it sounded like priorities being brought to the fore from our consciousness. If she adds fiscal responsibility to that statement, maintaining the burdens of the deficit and the debt so many consider number one in importance in the recent polls, she will grab a Majority of the Nation's voters,
because she had referred earlier to the deficit, or debt, being imposed on several generations. She just has to incorporate it into
the more formally shaped message.Sarah grows on you, and the Left and those in the Republican Party who persist in attacking her, are
going to rue the day just as they did after going after Rush Limbaugh. This is where Alinsky backfires.Concentrating and highlighting an individual is taking a real chance. She has an army of supporters outside the beltway who will fight for her. She can take the lightening and use its energies against her attackers.

I love her streanth and moral clarity. Time will tell if she will have a good grasp on international affairs by 2012.

Pamela I know Sarah would be happy to know you.
All thru out important events breaking you have stayed focused on what is important. You are a lot like Sarah. And I thank you for all you do.
In the meanwhile, the liberals are thrashing in their cocoons.Speculating and lying. Sarah said " This is full court press." she is not going to go away. The more they lie about her, the more support she gains.

Sarah is like Obi-Wan Kenobi: "If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine.”
With every slur and lie from the left, she becomes more popular, more powerful. They are really afraid of her.

Lets put it point blank! Sarah Palin knows whats going on and will not sit back and be smeared constantly, she was a point guard and knows that a great offense is sometimes better than defense, she has already hit a 3 pointer in washington and has become the one feared the most. He does not like sharing the spotlight. Well this time its to save our country and the truth will prevail

Obviously, none of you live in Alaska. I supported this governor, and worked for her election. Sarah Palin is a great speaker with incredible empathy with people. She comes off as personable, real, and truthful.
Unfortunately, Sarah Palin is a politician. What she did once in office was to deny most of her campaign rhetoric. The highest budgets in the State's history, a Supreme Court appointment that was a board member of Planned Parenthood, a climate change sub-cabinet headed by an EPA employee and administered by an organization that is funded by every anti-development and pro-abortion foundation in the U.S. This is a conservative?
Any fool can say the right thing. Integrity and character are then following it up by doing what they said they would do. Sarah did not.
I kept hoping the Sarah Palin I worked and voted for would show up for work. I saw her being Sarah in Cedar Rapids, IA in Sept. of last year during the campaign. Great speech, great reception. Then, Sarah went back to Alaska and became just another politician again.
Stepping down is not a bad thing. She is getting out of the frying pan as she knows her pipeline plans are a no starter.
Alaska will crash hard, because Sarah about faced on her resource development plans--AGIA is not viable and will not be built to Canada, AGIA to Valdez is and may be built. However, that AGIA is not what Sarah wanted. She wanted the give-a-way to Canada. A complete about face from the campaign.
Be careful of what you extol.
The truth is something else.
I am a 56 year Alaskan living in Palmer, Alaska.

The truth is something else? Really...me thinks all the shovels used to dig dirt on Sarah produced not a damm thing. The truth is...is that you,
DIVA? You know who I mean..What I said before applies. No one gives a damm what you say. Sarah's supporters will not be swayed by the bs spouted. The more you talk the more she gains. STFU and get back to your own arena.

You just made my 4th!!!
I love your optimism and I love Palin, she is everything all the elites aren't, including many of my favorite writers, Goldberg, Krauthammer etc..) When the rumor was, yesterday, that she was out of politics for good, I knew/know that when the decides to come back, she will come roaring back STRONG! You said it all! Great piece!
.
As I tweeted yesterday - Maybe she is stepping down so she can gain some experience as a community organizer. lol
.
G-d Bless you all and have a Happy Independence Day!
.
This will be the last thing I read today, It will make for a beautiful 4th.
Thanks Pamela,

Great article Pamela, good to see you "branching out".. terrific! you have earned a name for yourself.
Sarah Palin left for the people of Alaska, imagine living in a state where the media hacks were attempting to discredit your governor 24/7 with all kinds of bogus material. Even her most loyal supporters would get tired of that. The governor is the representative of the state.
With that said, the gloves are off, she will be free to annihilate the left and defend herself with a smile on her face. Sarah will be the spokesman for all of us, and for women everywhere. It is going to be fun to watch that is for sure.

Sarah is such an inspiration, everytime she speaks. She makes me proud of my country, and epitomizes hope. Obama just speaks of hope, and provides despair. Sarah is brilliant, and stunning!

As a proud no guilt American I seek no leader.
Sarah understands that.
Something is broken in America and it is not the souls of any American, it is
those who live here and are so damn arrogant... it is what it is.
Sarah you do what you have to do near or far term, I for one thank you for dipping your toe into the cesspool.

After listening to the entire speech and reading it, I also think she is not out or a quitter. Sarah is going to fight for our country. The thought that my Grandaughters will not grow up in the USA but some Socialist/nanny govt. keeps me praying for a miracle. Is Sarah the answer to my prayers, I don't know, but it's a darn good start. You Betcha

TROLL. These leftwing liars plant trolls like that ........... I love Sarah but..... Palin scares the weak, the evil, the enemy within to death. These anonymous plants have a job to do. Disinformation campaigns. Information war.
There is the ridicule, smear war where they photoshop degenerate pictures of her children. Where Jon Stewart and David Letterman act as court jesters for Soros and the leftist Islamic alliance. Yhis is what they do to tie rational men up in knots.
Fifty years of it (since the 60s) culminating with the destroyer in the White House.
Enough. Take America back

Thanks Pamela for another clear and precise editorial to clear the air for us. This is precisely the kind of hope and change that America's lovers truly want. We are being taken for a ride and you have given us that spark of hope, the tiniest of light at the end of the tunnel. But for the true lovers of America, that is all we need to continue the fine fight.
Please keep up the fine fight.

Pamela, I hope you don't mind but I found this excellent post regarding Sarah written by a person named Jehu. It describes my own feelings:
All the speculation about Sarah. I think you don’t have to speculate. She quit because she cannot run for President fighting endless lying liberal ethics charges. Also I think she is being trained right now by God…she will run in 2012, and win. She has the right spirit and mind, but was too inexperienced and had to realize the depth of the hatred and the determination of the enemy. (Something that could not be beat into George W Bush’s head with a thousand cluebats.
I think she gets it. Remember how you felt about her when she first spoke at the Republican convention…something very special about Palin. Well she is that same person but is being tempered into a sword that will be used to cut these enemies of freedom down to the ground.
Not very often you get someone like this, maybe once in a hundred years. Reagan was one, before him Lincoln, before him Washington, and YES I think she is on that level. It is not about being smarter than the next crazy-ass liberal, after all according to them the are always the smartest people in the room.
It is about being filled with light as opposed to their darkness. One last thought, she is the instrument of their judgment and they sense this, beyond all the professional political jerkoffs in the GOP, the Left knows the instrument of their doom, that is why they hate her guts beyond anything we have seen, it is instinctive, like vampires to a Holy Water carrying priest with silver bullets, that is their reaction to Sarah Palin.
Put Sarah Palin and Osama bin Laden in the room with a liberal with a gun with one bullet, guess who they would shoot?

I'm an Obama supporter. I wholeheartedly encourage your support of Palin's run for the presidency, assuming of course that this hastily-thrown-together press conference didn't have some other motivation behind it.
You probably think I'm blind to her qualities, that she has a good chance to really take this thing, and that she'd be a good President if she did. For my side, I think she'd be a disastrous president, but also that she has nearly zero chance of winning, and so I see this as a wonderful way to weaken the worst part of the GOP. Even if she doesn't get the nomination, as I doubt she will, her efforts will go a long way toward widening the rifts that are tearing the GOP apart.
But for today, let's just enjoy the fact that we agree that it would be a wonderful thing for Palin to pursue the GOP nomination.
Here's a proposal I think perhaps we could agree on: What if Fox News gave her a prime time show of her own? Before she's an official candidate they can do this without having to worry about "equal time" laws and so on. She'd have a powerful way to speak to her supporters, in a supportive environment where reporters wouldn't be trying to trip her up with difficult questions. She'd have Hannity and Limbaugh and Beck and all the others falling all over themselves to endorse her. She could have anyone in the GOP on her show. GOP legislators would be afraid to go against any cause she decided to champion. She would be FAR more powerful, nationally, in that role than as the gov of Alaska. And would have much, much more of a prominent and visible position from which to launch her campaign.
Sarah Palin would become the voice of the GOP. You think that's a good thing. I think that's a good thing. One of us would end up being wrong, but it's a move that could get both sides to go "all in."
So how about floating the idea on your blog, and seeing if you can get other prominent right-wing blogs to float the idea as well? I think it could really happen.
Posted by: bob | Saturday, July 04, 2009 at 02:58 PM
As soon as you identified yourself as "an Obama supporter," you lost my interest. In case you haven't noticed, bob, we ALREADY have a disastrous president. And the only reason you want Palin out there is so that she can be discredited as a potential presidential candidate. Even now, after she's announced her resignation, you people just can't leave her alone, can you? And I'll tell you why you can't - because right now she's the only potential presidential candidate who has a prayer of besting Obama in 2012 - even with ACORN's minions falsifying the votes.
Posted by: Fionnagh | Saturday, July 04, 2009 at 05:00 PM
I'm making a suggestion that, if your beliefs about her are correct, would HELP her become that presidential candidate. It's not a suggestion I've seen anyone else making. If you don't think it's a good idea (from your own point of view) then I'd be curious to know why.
The fact that it's a good idea from my point of view, for very different reasons, should be irrelevant. Assume I'm making a huge, huge mistake here by underestimating Palin.
Don't you think that, based on your views of Palin, that giving her a prominent prime-time show on Fox would be a huge boost to her eventual presidential campaign? A friendly environment, exactly the right audience to build up her base, access to any major GOP guest she wants to bring onto the show, etc., etc. Not just publicity, but a bully pulpit that would give her huge clout over GOP legislators on any issue she cared to champion, because they know she's talking to their base, and they know she's likely to be a GOP candidate in the near future so they want to be team players and all.
I'm glad you think she has a prayer of besting Obama in 2012. If you're right, then giving her a prime-time show on Fox would help get the word out in a big way. Maybe something like this is in the works, but if not then having some prominent right-wing blogs start to push the idea could make a difference.
And, politics and ideology aside, she'd be good at hosting a show. She'd have a big audience. She has a folksy charm that would work very well in the right format. I really think that something like this, with the right format and the right backing, could give her an enormous boost politically. Or just a bully pulpit from which to influence the GOP. And wouldn't you like to see that?

WHAT ABOUT BOB,HEH?
So Helpful.So "nice". So reasonable.
Political Advice, from a Left-Wing Troll, for Sarah Palin?
Don't Think So,BOB.
Bob, whose Left-Wing,Liberal,Progressive, or Whatever Democratic "Shop" are You out of and assigned TROLL DUTY on Independence Day?

Posted by: CHOI | Saturday, July 04, 2009 at 05:50 PM
Bob, not just Sarah, but everybody on this board, with the exception of you and DIVA, would be better at foreign policy than Obama. Let the record show that the people of Iran were crushed, murdered, and are now being hanged while Obama did nothing. Joe Biden gave us all fair warning when he said that not even six months would pass before someone tested the metal of this man. Now that metal has been tested, and it is found to be not steel but lead.
Obama said he was going to bring us all together, but the movement for secession is rising on his watch. For most of my working life, I have been sacrificed on the alter of their idealogy. During the election they are so concerned about us working class people. But once the election is over, even the minnows and garbage carp come before us. Sarah Palin is probably our last hope.
Posted by: Warren | Saturday, July 04, 2009 at 06:08 PM
Then please, CHOI, explain why the idea is a bad one, from your own point of view. Look, it's entirely possible that this really is a good idea for Palin, and that I'm too deluded to see it. In fact, it is a good idea for Palin, if she is everything that Palin supporters think she is.
When two poker players go "all in" they both think that they are right and the other guy is wrong. One ends up losing big. That's the case here. Who cares where the idea came from?
And I really do think that an idea like this could take fire in the blogosphere, and a push from major right-wing bloggers could really make a difference in whether it happens or not. So I'm going "all in" here and making a suggestion that I think would turn out very bad for the GOP, but that from your point of view ought to sound very appealing because you start from some very different assumptions about Palin. And if I'm wrong about Palin, and her supporters are right, I freely admit that this could potentially turn out to be very, very bad for the Democrats. That's why I use the "all in" analogy.
Notice that I'm not the one who seems so eager to find an excuse to fold. How about it? Do you have the courage of your convictions? If you think Palin would benefit from the bully pulpit of a Fox prime-time show of her own, why worry about who came up with the idea, start helping me push to make it happen. And may the more reality-based side win.
Posted by: bob | Saturday, July 04, 2009 at 06:18 PM
Warren, I gather you don't like Obama. I'll try to deal with my disappointment somehow.
But I wish you'd respond to my suggestion. If you think Palin is "our last hope," then from that point of view what do you think of my suggestion that Fox giver her a prime-time show? A bully pulpit from which to help re-shape the GOP, take it away from the RINOs, and help good triumph over evil.
I'd love to hear a Palin supporter explain why this sounds like a bad idea, from their own point of view.
Or better yet, laugh at the poor liberal who is going to see this idea backfire in his face, and embrace the idea, and get a grassroots movement started to make it happen. It ought to be something her supporters could get excited about, an audience of millions and a huge boost to her popularity and influence. So why not? It's only a bad idea if I'm right about Palin and you're wrong. And that couldn't possibly the case, right?
I could have come on here pretending to be a Palin supporter, suggesting the prime-time show idea from the pro-Palin point of view only. But I'm putting my assumptions up front. I think she would be a very popular host in the right sort of format, and have a very effective and popular show. I think she'd be a natural at it. I think she could potentially have huge influence over the GOP. But where we diverge, presumably, is that if I'm right, giving her more influence over the GOP would be a terrible thing for the GOP and a good thing for moderates and Democrats. And if she leveraged the influence and publicity to get the GOP nomination, she'd leave the GOP devastated for a generation, if they even managed to survive the nomination process without imploding.
But that's a projection based on my assumptions about Palin. And you believe I'm wrong about her. You KNOW I'm wrong about her! So how about it?
Posted by: bob | Saturday, July 04, 2009 at 06:33 PM
I don't know if being on FOX is a good idea. I do know this, though: Obama is the worst and most dangerous president in my 65 years of life, and if you like him then you must like Marxism. Therefore, anything you say is BS and an attempt at dialectics, but you aren't good enough. So, why don't you take yourself away from here---and this is ad hominem---you POS. You will get no further comment from me, because I only talk to people like you one time only.

Pamela, thank you for the excellent article on Sarah Palin. She's the real deal, and the genuine ONE! Clearly the faux messiah is one of the stinkiest peace of shit to hit our shores. Of which, I hope this country will be able to outlast his next 3.5 years of fiscal, and foreign policy recklessness.

And the most pitiful of all of this are people like you. Are you really that steadfast to keep on making excuses for a total disaster? And no matter what your theory is, we GONA keep supporting Sarah. And the thing is, if there is anything left of this country by then, people might even elect GWB ....I miss him..don't you?

"Bob" stole this idea from kos. I figured it was something like that ... and google unmasked him in short order. In the comments ... no surprise here ... they are SCARED TO DEATH of the idea of Palin getting a major forum like her own show on Fox. They can't deny she'd be damn good at it because after all she's got a background in broadcast journalism ... not to mention the kind of REAL down-to-earth charm that REAL PEOPLE respond to. A radio show would be great but a TV show ... can you imagine? ... she'd be UNSTOPPABLE. Ratings through the ROOF. Old Bob is trying some reverse psychology I gaurantee it. Heh.

There is a very interesting article from the Palin's attorney on conservatives4palin regarding the current tales being so widely spread. It closes with a most interesting list of people and organizations being told to cease and desist from spreading these false and defamatory rumors--looks like it is time for a lawsuit and I hope the Palins take them to the cleaners!!!
Posted by: nellyq | Saturday, July 04, 2009 at 10:02 PM
Bob, I think that Sarah Palin already decided on what she is going to do, and there is not point in either me or anybody else here trying to tell her what she is supposed to do. When I said that maybe Palin was our last hope, I figured that Pamela probably wouldn't appreciate me talking about things like cival war, mass refusal to file and income tax return, secession, and stuff like that.
I think that if her only intention is running for president in 2012, then there would have been little point in leaving the governorship before her term was up. The actions of Obama must have made her feel it was imperative for her to do something right away. Perhaps she has decided to do exactly what you are suggesting. Perhaps she has decided to become an ice road trucker. My guess, and it is only a guess, is that she will devote the next year to campaigning and fund raising for worthwhile candidates for congress in 2010, to take away from the democrats the sixty vote majority in the senate and the speakership in the house. Perhaps she has decided to do something that neither you or I or anyone else here has even thought of.
RISE_UP, nothing makes one appreciate a Republican president as much as the Democratic president that follows him. That is true of both Bushes and of Gerald Ford. According to the Mayan callendar the world is supposed to end in the year 2012. And with Barack Obama as our president, the Mayans just might have it right.
