11:52pm: Oppressed peoples of the world unite! Funny -- sort of. The Chinese Falun Gong are helping those fighting for liberty in Iran. Regular Atlas readers remember Falun Gong. The repressive Chinese government despises them, persecutes them and harvests their organs. Yes, harvests their organs.
CHINESE FALUN GONG HELP IRANIANS BREAK REGIME'S CENSORSHIP Reliapundit
ABC-OZ: Computer software invented to beat China's stringent internet controls is being used by pro-democracy activists in Iran to manoeuvre around authorities there.
Developed and managed by a team of volunteers from the Falun Gong spiritual group, Freegate was created to allow net users to bypass Beijing government censorship.
Now it is estimated as many as a million Iranians use the free service each day, as anti-government demonstrators take their protests online.

The Organization of the Islamic Conference has denounced all efforts to interfere in Iran's internal affairs.
The OIC, about which I have written extensively here, is driving the UN bus. The same bus that Obama wants America to get on and throw off American sovereignty. Enter Harold Koh, stage left.
8:10 pm: Arrested, beaten and raped: an Iran protester's tale. Afshin, a shopkeeper from south-west Iran, alleges that one of his friends was beaten and repeatedly raped after being arrested at an opposition rally after last month's disputed election. He gave this account to Esfandiar Poorgiv, a journalist and academic. It is published here as part of the Guardian's project to trace those killed and detained during the unrest. (hat tip James the Fin)
He came to my shop around 10.30am. You could tell straight away that he had just been released. His face was bruised all over. His teeth were broken and he could hardly open his eyes.
He was not even into politics. He was just an ordinary 18-year-old in the last year of school. Before the election he came to me and asked how he should vote. He looks up to me. His father is an Ahmadinejad supporter.
He had gone home directly after his release, but his father did not let him in. He didn't mention he had been raped. At first, he didn't tell me either. It was the doctor who first noticed it and told me.
When he came to my shop he collapsed in a chair. He said he had nowhere to go and asked if he could stay with me. I called a friend of mine who is a doctor to come home and see him. Then I brought him home.
His shoulder blades and arms were wounded. There were some slashes on the face. No bone fractures, but he was bruised all over the body. I wanted to take some photos but he did not let me. The doctor said only four of his teeth were intact, the rest were broken. You could hardly understand what he said.
Then the doctor told me what had happened. He had suffered rupture of the rectum and the doctor feared colonic bleeding. He suggested we take him to the hospital immediately.
They registered him under a false name and with somebody else's insurance. The nurses were crying. Two of them asked what sort of beast had beaten him up like that. He was a broken man. He told us not to waste our money on him, and that he would kill himself.
He was arrested in Shiraz on 15 June, the Monday after the election. Some sturdy young men made a human shield around the demonstrators. He was among them. He said he managed to hit some of the anti-riot police. But then they caught him and beat him up.
"I was kept in a van till evening that day and then transferred to a solitary cell where I was kept for two days," he said. "Then I was repeatedly interrogated, beaten and hung from a ceiling. They call it chicken kebab. They tie your hands and feet together and hang you from the ceiling, turning you around and beating you with cables.
Read it and weep.
7:00 pm: The handwriting is on the wall and everybody is scrambling. If the people who protested prevail, the struggle will be over what did they fight and die for.
A statement by Moussavi, the opposition leader who says the June 12 election was rigged in favour of the hardline Mr Ahmadi-Nejad, followed similarly defiant calls by Mosharekat, Iran’s largest reformist party, and Mehdi Karroubi, the second reformist candidate.

11:48 am: Numerous reports on twitter today of people gathering in "six places (Bahareset, Valiasr, Enghelab, Vanak, Tajrish, Sadehgieh)"
I would suggest that Obama watch these hangings, but that bloodless fiend wouldn't blink an eyelash.
Israel should seize this opportunity to take out Iran's nukes. This is cannot go on. Free and fair elections without "pre-selected" candidates.
Speaking after Iran's top legislative body upheld the election victory of incumbent Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, sources in Iran told this reporter in a telephone interview that the hangings took place in the holy city of Mashhad on Monday. There was no independent confirmation of the report.
Underlining the climate of fear among direct and even indirect supporters of Mousavi's campaign for the election to be annulled, the sources also reported that a prominent cleric gave a speech to opposition protesters in Teheran earlier this week in which he publicly acknowledged that the very act of speaking at the gathering would likely cost him his life.
On Monday, witnesses said thousands of policemen and Basij militiamen carrying batons were deployed in Teheran's main squares to prevent any recurrence of the opposition protests. Drivers who so much as shouted "Allahu Akbar" or beeped their horns had their windows smashed by the Basiji and riot police.
Women police, better known as the Sisters of Zeynab, are also now out in force, the witnesses said.
"Some people are still going out into the streets, but there is despair and sadness"

Everyday the world loses more respect for Americans, Americans respects thugs right to murder their own people yet they disrespect the brave peoples pleas for freedom and help with a shoulder shrug and a " It isn't our business to interfere with a tyrants right to murder helpless women and unharmed people.
Americans through they representative elected No#1 spokesperson have spoken and they said " the United States(Americans) respects the sovereignty of tyrants.
Yes RESPECT the the right to murder, not only their own people but Americans, and pretty much anyone they choose....
"But the day was also darkened by the deaths of four US soldiers from "combat-related injuries" in Baghdad and a bomb-vehicle explosion which killed at least 27 Iraqis in a Kirkuk market"
US commander warns: Iran continues to back violence in Iraq
DEBKAfile Special Report June 30, 2009, 10:03 PM (GMT+02:00)
Gen. Odierno blamed Iran, which he said "is still supporting, funding and training surrogates who operate inside of Iraq. They have not stopped and I don't think they will stop," he said.
Americans you are a sorry bunch and your excuse that your leaders do not speak for you
doesn't hold water anymore, just like the Nazis, " Just following orders" doesn't cut it
Your apathy and silence in the face of great injustices even when it involves the sending of your own young people into the killing fields...
Your apathy is sickening, you can not longer say it isn't you : We all know that in a democratic government like you claim to be, You elect your leaders by majority vote
who speak the will of the people, and they are kept in check by the Legislative branch
composed of senators who are in touch with their constituency and reflect the will of the people.
Intelligence services is learning from Iran, soon people like Pamela Geller's voice will be stifled while Americans go to their gallows while they puff up their chest and speak of how free they are while they rest of the world yawns.....
Already people here in America are afraid to speak up, soon they will be more afraid
you have sold your soul to the devil and now he wants to collect and you are afraid as empathy and inaction sets in while you are being set up for the kill and an easy kill it's going to be...
Can't say you didn't have it coming, can't say brave people like Pamela Geller didn't put their neck on the line and try to warn you while you still had time to do something yet you chose inaction because you didn't want to be bothered, let's all see who is going to come to your help when the noose is around your necks....

If no one listened to one other single thing Obama has said, they should have listened to his agenda to have a "civilian army, as large as our military...."
Because after all the communistic/dictator plans have been installed, it will leave the U.S. a bananna republic with no hope except thru the military. Just like Honduras' President, whose hope was to become president forlife. Maybe the Honduras thug forgot the main ingredient, the civiian army. Let that be a lesson OBama..

Birds of a feather, public lynching people to spread terror and set examples ....
YA know, a little known fact is that more white political enemies of the party of the KKK were hanged than were blacks -- These lynchings came right after the civil war and on through the 1930s when the Democrat party terror wing the KKK was in full bloom.
It was not until 2005 when the Senate finally issued an apology for the lynchings that went on during this storied period in the history of the Democrat party. The apology was sympathetic to the fact that the U.S. Congress had failed to pass anti-lynching laws ... Mostly because of filibusters by the likes of Senators like Byrd.
I wonder why hardly anyone knows the truth.

The outcome was never in doubt. The regime showed it was willing to use force to crush the pseudo-Khomeinists and it has learned that it never needed to pay a real price for its behavior towards its own people. Just the opposite - the West still wants to legitimize and reward it.

I cannot believe the comments I am reading here. So this is the fault of the USA? How did it become our problem all of a sudden. The people complaining about the USA not coming to the rescue are the same people who were burning American flags and hanging American presidents in effigy. I support the Iranian peoples right to be free and have fair elections. But since when does this support have to extend to American soldiers losing their lives. I am sorry, this is the government the Iranians wanted. They held America hostage for 444 days 30 years ago and their opinion of the USA has not changed since then. Now when their government is killing them they want Americans to come to the rescue. You can't have it both ways. You can't profess your hatred of the Satan America and then cry for help when your own government decides to hang you for expressing your opinion. I pray everyday that the people in Iran are able to resolve this issue and that the Iranian people are able to speak freely without fear of death. However, it is not up to the USA to free Iran from Iranians. Perhaps if another country invaded and the Iranian people needed help then I could see the USA sending troops to help out. But this is an internal problem. I doubt Iranians would be rushing in to help any country in the same situation. Where are the Iranians when Burmese are being oppressed? They are one of the largest trading partners with the junta of Burma. Where are the Iranians when the Tamil are being murdered? Again, trading with the Sri Lanka government. And North Korea who oppress and enslave their own people. Where are the Iranians? Trading with the government. So please, before you start comparing America to Nazi's and claiming our government doesn't care, take a look in the mirror. What have you been doing over the past 30 years? Trying to improve relations with the USA? And I can say the same thing, don't tell me it is the government and not the people who hate America. Maybe you have good reasons for hating America, but you cannot expect America to come riding in on the white horse and save you from yourself. If you decide to protest violently then people will die and it will be tragic. But perhaps in the end you can make changes in your country. If the same situation happened in America I would not expect any other country to help. Iranians should take responsibility for their own country. Iranians allowed and welcomed their theocratic government and now they are paying the price. I have a great deal of sympathy and compassion for the Iranian people and I hope they can solve this problem without further blood shed. But if you are waiting for America to come to your rescue then you will be waiting for a very long time. We support you, but we are not going to die for you.

These events are the true tenets of islam - what else do you expect? I don't care and no other gov't should either beside what can anyone do to stop it - nothing. Iran is an 'iron curtain' of islam so this is what they do and do well.

I, myself do not expect military involvement for what is happening in Iran. I just believe we have a muslim who says WORDS MATTER and he could use some words and that's all I expect. The other thing I hope for is that Israel will take this opportunity to blast these bastards while they fight within. Iran is very busy now. What with waiting for the U.S. to become thin in Iraq. They already got their foot in that door. In the end somebody is going to have to stop them.

The Iranian dictators are worse than animals. Thugs, one and all. On top of all that, the Muslim apologists like that great whore John Esposito at Georgetown or that idiot Karen Armstrong and the others are too blind to see that if Muslims treat fellow Muslims like this, how much WORSE non-Muslims will be treated!!!! Once any country in Western Europe falls completely under Sharia, the barbarism will be magnified!!
Look, all you non-Muslim apologists!!! This is how YOU will be treated under Sharia....only WORSE!!!

Although the Guardian is notoriously moonbat left-wing they do an excellent job of reporting, albeit with a leftist perspective. That being said, I continue to pray for the safety of the protesters.
If this is true, God help the protesters.
Be warned, it's pretty brutal events being described.

pamela:
let me see, three terrorists at gitmo have been water boarded at gitmo since 9/11.--
and, b. (for bastard) obama and joe biden want to prosecute them, and the u.s. attorneys who wrote the memo's opining that such interrogation was not torture under international law.
let me see, we have these abuses against humanity in iran, e.g., murder, assassination of women and children by hamas and the basiji's, ... , and, now, clearly, systamatic torture being carried about by the tyrannical theocracy.--
and obama still thinks that we will engage these murderous thugs, and he invites them to teas, and he still "respects" the sovereignty of the '79 islamic revolution, e.g., the mullahs and ayatollahs vicious grasp of power and tyrannical rule is legitimate, as is the theocracy.
hussein obama is an idiot.
he is a muslim who aids and abets islamic jihad, and the imposition of the rule of jihad and sharia by brute, thuggish, murderous force, murder and torture.
hussein obama is an embarrassment before the world, he shames us all, and he is a threat to our domestic liberties and rights. he must be impeached, and opposed with any quantum of force and resistance necessary to prevent his destruction of our country.
do not give up your arms. disobey any "law" which attempts to take them. kill any person who tries to take them.

p.s. and yes, where are the protestors, where are the leftists who attack the united states and israel? why do they not protest what is going on in iran?
the only answer to these questions, is that they support and condone what is being done by the theocracy in iran, which makes them murderous zealots in spirit, and if they ever get the opportunity. their moral outrage at the u.s. and israel is so much political posturing, and nothing else. they are ideologues, and they would do the same to us as is being done to the brave demonstrators in iran, and they have been exposed for what they are. murderous thug wannabe's. they are contemptible. simply put, they are assholes of the first order.

Well..... They are giving us every reason to blast them off the face of the earth and if we had a decent president maybe things would be better for the Iranian citizens! As it stands now, I feel like our government has bound us in handcuffs, leg irons and our vocal cords have been severed. And I don't say that lightly! I absolutely do not feel like an American any longer. It's strange....cause I just feel like I'm disposable in the eyes of our government. Under Obama, I can truthfully say that I have never been so ashamed of my country!
Obama is the most evil man I have ever seen in a public position! Unfortunately, we had to lose Farrah Fawcett, Michael Jackson, Billy Mays, Karl Malden, Fred Travalena, Ed McMahon and Obama is still standing! Aren't we the "good guys?"

To Canasta
Our soldiers died by the thousands to liberate Europe from the nazi totalitarian ideology, then to stop the communist totalitarian ideology from enslaving most of the world. We helped our enemies rebuild their economy, we poured billions of dollars and efforts into developing countries (including Iran) and became the symbol of freedom and democracy. We succeeded. As a result, even our former allies would like nothing better than seeing us collapse.
Today, we are fighting the totalitarian ideology of islam, with terrorism as its weapon, that rages in the whole islamic world. These countries are the ones that declared war on America and the Western civilization, not the other way around. For the past 30 years or so, Iran has done its part in this war, causing us all the harm it possibly could. They have been clamoring for America “the great satan” to get out of the Middle-East and now you have the gall to complain that we don’t rush to Iran’s defense? What did you expect? They want freedom – it’s a noble endeavour, I respect it and I hope they will achieve it. Only now, they are on their own, let’s them find someone else to liberate them for a change. We may be a little slow, but we have learnt our lesson. No change of regime in Iran, not even democracy, would prevent this country from hating America, at least for several decades to come.
Many of us may have been stupid enough to elect an islamo-socialist candidate, we are already paying dearly for it and we will pay more in the months to come. We have our faults, but even now, immigrants all over the world are not risking their lives to reach Cuba, Russia, North Korea, Somalia, Saudi Arabia or even Iran. It is still in America (and in some of the countries she liberated) that they dream to find a haven. That, to me, is the only criteria by which a country can be judged.

All of this is so anti-Scriptures, so anti-ten commandments. And it's just unspeakable how horrible it is to those people. Israel should bomb their nuke place now and not wait. Forget what BO wants. He doesn't live in Israel and then it's obvious that he doesn't care about the people in Iran, the innocents. I hope that Netanyahu doesn't listen to him and bombs those idiots and hits only their prized possessions, sparing the innocent.

If the Iranians really wanted to be free they would be. BUT, the have no guns, are MUSLIM, and obviously not enough of them really want it in order for it to happen. Yes, there are individual Iranians willing to die for it, but the average Iranian, who vastly outnumber the individuals, likes being a slave. The results speak for themselves. You cannot argue with the results. The Theocrats are winning. I say let them stew in their own juices. People DESERVE the kind of government they have. Including we Americans.

It is terrible what is happening to these people. The man in that picture, if he survives and doesn't have brain damage, he will likely suffer from either Parkinson's or Alzheimers in later life and die from one of them, as head trauma is a big factor in both those diseases.
As for hussein, I've said this before, people will NOT forget the pictures of him playing golf and laughing over ice cream cones all the while refusing to stand up and make a statement on behalf of the Iranian people suffering under such overwhelming brutality. Those pictures of him were photo ops for a reason. He knew what he was doing, and how it would be perceived. Well, his approval rating is dropping significantly, even more so recently. I really am hoping people are beginning to wake up out of their collective coma and realize how intensely this guy is ashamed of our country, our liberties, and our freedoms. People will not forget...he refused to stand up for freedom when the time came.
