Assad invites Obama to Damascus: Assassins, Terrorists, Honor Killers

It is increasingly clear that the US president feels at home with brutality. More and more it defines his presidency. Last week, WND ran my OpEd piece Will Obama Bow to Syria too? Apparently, he will. Watch the video; this is no accident. This is a set up. Obama was well aware of the invitation previous to Assad's spontaneity on the tarmac. There are no accidents when it comes to Obama and Islamic terror regimes.

Assad invites Obama to Damascus
Syrian President Bashar Assad has invited his American counterpart Barack Obama to a summit in Damascus. Assad told Sky News late Thursday, "We would like to welcome him in Syria, definitely. I am very clear about this." When asked whether this could happen soon, the Syrian leader replied: "That depends on him…I will ask you to convey the invitation to him."

Obama plans to huddle with the most vile regimes on earth. I am sure Obama will welcome this invitation from the State sponsor of terror. He talks of our moral authority and fundamental values.

Horrible news. Syria is Hezballah's ally, a criminal regime that executes duly elected leaders in neighboring countries. A regime that murders journalists in other countries. A country that oppresses its people and sanctions the murder of its women. Obama's latest partner in the planned genocide of the Jews. Israel's worst nightmare.

“Syria amends honour killing law”

Syria has scrapped a law limiting the length of sentences handed down to men convicted of killing female relatives they suspect of having illicit sex.

The new law replaces the existing maximum sentence of one year in jail with a minimum jail term of two years.

Justice Minister Ahmad Hamoud Younis said the change was made by the decree of President Bashar al-Assad, following a recent increase in "wife-killings... on the pretext of adultery".

The new law says a man can still benefit from extenuating circumstances in crimes of passion or honour "provided he serves a prison term of no less than two years in the case of killing".

The legislation covers any man who "unintentionally" kills his wife, sister, daughter or mother after catching her committing adultery or having unlawful sex. It also covers cases where the woman's lover is killed.

Reports say women's rights activists have given a cautious welcome to the change, with one group calling it a "small contribution to solving the problem".

Their objection remains, however, that the new law still apparently invites men to murder women if they catch them having sex or suspect them of doing so.

Obama, cozying up to Assad? Will he side with evil again? Rhetorical.

Pamela, I'm not so sure your question about siding with evil is rhetorical. We shouldn't forget that it was Syria's Assad who honored Samir Kuntar their country's highest medal. Remember that Kuntar was best known for smashing the skull of a 4 year old Israeli girl. Anyone who celebrates that kind of murder is evil.

To even consider going to Syria while the current group of thugs are in charge is to legitimize the evil that they represent.

and, let us not forget the middle east.

it appears that the u.s. endorses the legitimacy and worth of every repressive regime in hte middle east.

it appears that the u.s. disavows israel, (as it says honduras is to go it alone), and that israel is to go it alone.

3500 years of tradition, heritage and moral & ehtical values are to be abandoned to what, ... , the savagery of islam. by a president who says he like "urdo" poetry, and thinks the muslim evening call to prayers is beautiful, and who was born and raised muslim.

this region shall be plunged into chaos.

and, if israel is not capable of protecting herself, she shall be plunged into a savage darkness of murder and oppression.

the facts are these.--

the united states was policeman to the world, because we had the military might to project power and influence the world over. you may refer to this in a convenient short hand, as the "united states navy," which controlled the oceans militarily, and which opened the internaitonal shipping lanes to free and safe commerce.

the navy hauled the marines around, and the navy protected mass movement of american soldiers to here and there, as they were needed. to a lesser extent, american strategic air forces dominated the skies. it remains to be seen if any other country can duplicate our air power. perhaps, not even china.

no other nation in the world, save china (& perhaps india) has the ability to build a sufficient navy to do so, and it will take china 20 years to become a blue water power.

nature abhors a vacuum, and geopolitics abhors a lack of power in a region or sphere. the rest of the world will rush into those areas we have abandoned, and warfare is the arbiter of who becomes powerful and who becomes second rate.

this is obama's legacy. and, i might add, so is the destruction of israel, if israel in not determined to go her own way and provide for her own defense.
