Un-indicted co-conspirator CAIR is defaming Robert Spencer and trying to get him banned using thuggery, lies and intimidation. You know, the CAIR way!
Gross. And they are empowered with their man in the White House. Vile, all of it. Read it here.
I wrote
the other day about how some alleged believers in free speech among American
academia are trying to block my speaking at the American Library Association
convention this Sunday. Now the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR),
true to form, has gotten into the act, sending the ALA a fresh steaming pile of
defamation, lies, and distortions (drawing once again on material from its
favorite useful idiot, the discredited, thoroughly dishonest Charles Johnson of that cesspool of lies and hate,
Little Green Footballs), asking that I be dropped from the ALA panel.
Whatever the ALA does, I am not going to let CAIR's libels go unanswered.
LYON, France (Reuters) - Youths in the southeastern French town of Firminy
burned cars and destroyed a social centre on Wednesday night as protests over
the death in police custody of a young man continued for a second night.
Around 200 riot police were deployed into the early hours on Thursday, with a
helicopter circling overhead as groups of young people set fire to rubbish bins
before moving on to torch cars and the social centre.
The protests followed the death on Wednesday of Mohamed Benmouna, a local man
arrested for attempted extortion, who fell into a coma after what police said
was a suicide attempt and died several hours later.
CAIR has trumpeted false "hate crimes" against Muslims in the past.
And in the litany of alleged "hate crimes" against Muslims that are
listed in this press release, there is one exceedingly fishy detail.
It's in this article: "FBI investigating death of Muslim leader in High
Desert," by Stacia Glenn for the San Bernardino Sun, July 6:
The FBI is investigating the death of a Muslim leader whose
body was found inside a burned home in Yermo that had recently been
spraypainted with racial epithets and Nazi symbols.
Authorities have deemed the June 27 fire suspicious, but said it
could take weeks before they are able to determine how the blaze
started....
But the Council on American-Islamic Relations seems sure that
Mohammed was killed because of his race or religion. The Muslim leader
had established mosques in Yermo, Barstow and Victorville....
Mohammed still owned the Yermo house and went there the day of the
fire to paint over the offensive graffiti, which included swastikas,
drawings of the American flag and various racial slurs....
CAIR officials said they are unsure why Mohammed did not
report that someone had broken into his unoccupied Yermo home and
spraypainted racial epithets across the walls.
The imam did photograph them, however, and the pictures are now displayed on CAIR's Web site....
Let me ask you: if someone broke into your house and spraypainted
racial epithets across the walls, would you for any conceivable reason not call the police? It's extremely strange, and CAIR's involvement doesn't make it any less strange.
Any actual victimization of innocent people, Muslim or non-Muslim,
is odious and warrants the condemnation of every American. But CAIR is
playing a political game here, a game of manipulation, of which the end
result will be that law enforcement officials will be afraid to
investigate allegations of Islamic terror activity (note the last
paragraph I've quoted below from their press release) and those who
dare to explore the motives and goals of jihad terrorists will be
silenced as purveying "hate speech."
Think that couldn't happen in America? Think again. Pamela has details
of HR 1966, section 881, which says, "Whoever transmits in interstate
or foreign commerce any communication, with the intent to coerce,
intimidate, harass, or cause substantial emotional distress to a
person, using electronic means to support severe, repeated, and hostile
behavior, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than
two years, or both."
It can't, unless it involves truths that some people don't want you
to know. It also involves an attempt to frame a narrative -- that what
I am saying is "offensive," it "causes emotional distress," and hence
must be silenced and criminalized.
WASHINGTON, July 8, 2009 /PRNewswire-USNewswire via COMTEX/
----A prominent national Islamic civil rights and advocacy group today
cited recent anti-Muslim incidents nationwide in calling on American
leaders to address what it said is a "growing level of anti-Muslim
prejudice and stereotyping" in American society.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said opinion
leaders, policymakers and law enforcement authorities should speak out
against the type of Islamophobic rhetoric on Internet hate sites and on
talk radio programs that may lead to bias-motivated attacks.
In making its appeal to local and national leaders, CAIR cited
recent incidents targeting American Muslim individuals and
institutions, including a bias-motivated attack on a Muslim woman and
child in Seattle by a self-proclaimed white supremacist, vandalism of
mosques in Florida and California, an anti-Islam sign outside a Florida
church, racist fireworks sold in Wisconsin, the beating of a Muslim
student in New York, and the death of a California Muslim leader in a
"suspicious" fire....
The Washington-based council also noted American Muslim concerns
that government actions, such as sending agent provocateurs into
mosques or targeting Muslims for deportation even after they are
acquitted of criminal charges, can add to the growing level of
anti-Muslim views by stereotyping Muslims as predisposed to
terrorism....
The worst and ugliest elements of marginal society are empowered, validated and feared. It will get worse. Beating up a white family while screaming "it's a black world" is not a hate crime. Uh, ok.
Akron police say they aren’t ready to call it a hate crime.
But to Marty Marshall, his wife and two kids, it seems pretty
clear.
It came after a family night of celebrating America and
freedom with a fireworks show at Firestone Stadium. Marshall, his family and two
friends were gathered outside a friend’s home in South Akron.
Out of nowhere, the six were attacked by dozens of teenage boys, who shouted
”This is our world” and ”This is a black world” as they confronted Marshall and
his family.
The Marshalls, who are white, say the crowd of teens who attacked them and
two friends June 27 on Girard Street numbered close to 50. The teens were all
black.
”This was almost like being a terrorist act,” Marshall said. ”And we
allow this to go on in our neighborhoods?”
They said it started when one teen, without any words or warning, blindsided
and assaulted Marshall’s friend as he stood outside with the others.
When Marshall, 39, jumped in, he found himself being attacked by the growing
group of teens.
His daughter, Rachel, 15, who weighs about 90 pounds, tried to come to his
rescue. The teens pushed her to the ground.
His wife, Yvonne, pushed their son, Donald, 14, into bushes to keep him
protected.
”My thing is,” Marshall said, ”I didn’t want this, but I was in fear for my
wife, my kids and my friends. I felt I had to stay out there to protect them,
because those guys were just jumping, swinging fists and everything.
”I’m lucky. They didn’t break my ribs or bruise my ribs. I thank God, they
concentrated on my thick head because I do have one. They were trying to take my
head off my spine, basically.”
After several minutes of punches and kicks, the attack ended and the group
ran off. The Marshalls’ two adult male friends were not seriously hurt.
”I don’t think I thought at that moment when I tried to jump in,” Rachel
Marshall said. ”But when I was laying on the ground, I was just scared.”
Marshall was the most seriously injured. He suffered a concussion and
multiple bruises to his head and eye. He said he spent five nights in the
critical care unit at Akron General Medical Center.
We are under siege. Is there no way to get redress? This is America, not Zimbabwe. How can this stand? We need lawsuits filed a/s/a/p - and take this to the Supreme Court like the New Haven firefighters who got Sotomayor's racist ruling overturned.
More poisonous fruit from the leftwing "enlightened" totalitarianism.
Fredric U. Dicker—regarded as the pre-eminent political reporter in New York’s state capital—recently published a column decrying the complete breakdown of the state legislature, which has been unable to conduct business for the past month.
Buried way down in Dicker’s piece, starting at the 19th paragraph, we learn:
During the first five months of this year, with the Senate under the control of its first African-American majority leader, [State Senator Malcolm] Smith, top Democrats bemoaned the lack of minority Senate staffers.
But instead of trying to recruit new hires, they fired nearly 200 almost exclusively white workers and replaced them with a large number of minority employees, many of whom were seen by their fellow workers to be unskilled at their new jobs.
The move produced severe racial tensions, made worse by the fact that, as a high-level Democratic staffer confided, “We’ve been told to only hire minorities.'’
So nearly 200 people lose their jobs in New York State because of their race? And not at the hands of some evil corporation, but our own elected officials?
It’s quite telling that, in our political age, mass firings can still happen because of one’s race. It’s even more telling that—the only time I’ve seen this story get any coverage at all—it was in the 19th paragraph of an otherwise unrelated column.
The two Iranian Christian women, Maryam Rustampoor
(27) and Marzieh Amirizadeh (30) continue to be held in Evin prison in Iran
because of their Christian faith, unfairly labeled as ‘anti-government
activists’, because of the hostility of the government towards practising
Christians.
In the aftermath of the political turmoil in Iran, they are now in danger of
being forgotten. One church leader from Iran said, “With so many hundreds of
protestors now in the prison system, Maryam and Marzieh are likely to be
forgotten.”
Arrested on March 5 , 2009, the two young women have now been in prison for
four months. After being in solitary confinement for three weeks in May and
early June, they were then put one small cell together for about two weeks.
Then, following the arrests of thousands of protestors after the disputed
presidential elections, Marzieh and Maryam were moved to a larger cell to make
room for new prisoners. About 600 women were brought Evin prison during the days
of the protests. There is still no clarity regarding their case. In one court
session in June a judge told them that he would make sure they were both
executed as ‘apostates’. Maryam and Marzieh have responded with courage,
however, telling the judge to “expedite his sentence.”
“Maryam and Marzieh have demonstrated great courage and trust in God. They
believe the promise of Jesus that they will be given the words to speak when
they are taken before judges,” says Sam Yeghnazar, founder of Elam Ministries.
Please continue to pray for Maryam and Marzieh as they suffer in prison
in Iran. Pray they will continue to experience the strengthening presence of God
and that they will be a witness of the love and grace of Christ in Evin prison.
We invite you to post a prayer on our Persecuted Church
Prayer Wall.

be accused of links with ‘foreign organizations’ and receive harsher sentences.
Also, please do not state anything negative about their government.

12:12 PM: Roozbeh Farahanipour returns to Iran. Under Farahanipour's leadership, the Marze Por Gohar Party led the pro-democracy movement in July, 1999. The Iranian journalist, democracy activist was a former political prisoner in Iran. The Ministry of Intelligence declared the Marze Por Gohar an "illegal Party," and called Farahanipour "one of the leaders of the unrest", he was subsequently arrested and tortured.
A key leader of the 1999 student uprising that shook the Islamist
regime in Iran returned to Iran clandestinely this week, and plans to
lead a nationwide protest on Thursday.
Roozbeh Farahanipour, 37, was jailed for several months in 1999
for his role in the protests and was tortured extensively. But that
hasn’t deterred him from going to back to his homeland.
“These are momentous times,” he told Newsmax shortly before
leaving the U.S. for his secret journey to Iran. “After 10 years, I am
fulfilling my dream.”
The postelection protests of the past several weeks “have
already succeeded in crippling half of the regime,” he said. “They can
no longer work together, no longer trust each other. Our job is to help
cripple the other half as well.”
If Farahanipour can successfully elude Iran’s secret police,
Thursday’s protests will be the first time that a political figure who
has gone into exile has ever returned to lead a demonstration against
the Islamic regime.
Farahanipour, who founded the Marze Por Gohar (Glorious
Frontiers Party) in 1998, wants to see a secular, democratic government
emerge from the current turmoil in Iran.
“This Thursday is my demonstration,” he said. “It is not
Mousavi’s event. It is the 10th anniversary of the 1999 student
uprising.”
Farahanipour says the time for any pretense of reforming the regime
is over. “People are shouting, ‘Death to the Dictator,'” he said. “The
regime lost all international credibility. Only 15 countries have sent
messages of congratulations to Ahmadinejad after the elections. The
first to support him were Hamas and Hezbollah.”
Now is not the time to reassure the regime, but to confront it, he believes.
Already, regime intelligence agents been on the lookout for
Farahanipour, and scoured the area near Busheir, where Iran’s nuclear
power plant is located, when rumors circulated that he was in the
vicinity earlier this week.

Here it comes. Thought crime and hate crime legislation. No one can attest to the vile nature of internet harassment, threats and insults more than I can, but I would never silence my "critics". This law is unconstitutional, a blatant violation of the First Amendment. It destroys the basic tenets of the Constitution. The left is ripping it to shreds. You can view the bill here.
This represents the end of political blogging and free speech on the world wide web.
If both bills are not opposed and thrown out then the First Amendment will become nothing more than a relic of a bygone age. (more here)
That this is even being proposed speaks volumes as to how far America has fallen. Here is the language in the bill:
a) Whoever transmits in interstate or foreign commerce any communication, with the intent to coerce, intimidate, harass, or cause substantial emotional distress to a person, using electronic means to support severe, repeated, and hostile behavior, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.
‘(b) As used in this section-
‘(1) the term ‘communication’ means the electronic transmission, between or among points specified by the user, of information of the user’s choosing, without change in the form or content of the information as sent and received;
‘(2) the term ‘electronic means’ means any equipment dependent on electrical power to access an information service, including email, instant messaging, blogs, websites, telephones, and text messages.’.
U.S. House of Representatives would make it a felony to offend someone online.
A felony.
Under this new law you would not just be slapped on the wrist and have to pay a fine.
You would go to big boy prison.
While most free speech activists have been watching the recent "hate crimes" bill, this much more insidious piece of legislation has received almost no notice whatsoever.
Just take a look at what H.R. 1966 actually says.....
Whoever transmits in interstate or foreign commerce any communication, with the intent to coerce, intimidate, harass, or cause substantial emotional distress to a person, using electronic means to support severe, repeated, and hostile behavior, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than two years, or both.
Whoa.
So if you offend someone on Facebook you could go to federal prison for two years?
Yup.
If your blog insults someone and causes them to feel bad you could go to prison for two years?
Yeppers.
If you are in a bad mood one day and you send fire off an angry tweet on Twitter that you maybe should not have you could go to prison for two years over it?
Yes indeed.
Are you starting to get the picture yet?
Talk about an attempt to chill free speech.
So if someone reads something that you have written and it makes them feel bad they can take it to the feds and have them come get you?
That is a very, very frightening thought.
The reality is that the government is increasingly trying to control even the very small details of our lives. They are even increasingly trying to control what we say and what we think.
Freedom of speech is one of the cornerstones of a free society. If we are not free to express ourselves without the fear that someone will be offended, then what freedom will we really have left?
The reality is that if we do not stand up to this, the United States of America will quickly become overrun with politically-correct "commissars" who are eager to throw anyone who disagrees with them in jail for "hate crimes" and "thought crimes".

Atlanta - The State Department confirmed today
that as many as 1,350 Iraqi Palestinians – once the well-treated guests of
Saddam Hussein and now at outs with much of Iraqi society – will be resettled in
the US, mostly in southern California, starting this fall.
It will be the largest-ever resettlement of Palestinian refugees into the US
– and welcome news to the Palestinians who fled to Iraq after 1948 but who have
had a tough time since Mr. Hussein was deposed in 2003. Targeted by Iraqi
Shiites, the mostly-Sunni Palestinians have spent recent years in one of the
region's roughest refugee camps, Al Waleed, near Iraq's border with Syria.
"Really for the first time, the United States is recognizing a Palestinian
refugee population that could be admitted to the US as part of a resettlement
program," says Bill Frelick, refugee policy director at Human Rights Watch in
Washington.
Given the US's past reluctance to resettle Palestinians – it accepted just
seven Palestinians in 2007 and nine in 2008 – the effort could ruffle some
diplomatic feathers.
Saddam's guests
Palestinian refugees came to Iraq in successive waves over several decades,
first in 1948, then in 1967, and in 1991. They were treated well under Hussein
but were also used to attack Israeli policies, and their presence was resented
by many Iraqis.
David Kris, Assistant Attorney General for National Security, and Frank J. Magill, U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota announced that on July 9 in Minneapolis, U.S. District Court Judge John Tunheim sentenced Mohammed Abdullah Warsame to 92 months in prison and three years of supervised release.
Warsame, a naturalized Canadian citizen of Somali descent, was charged with one count of conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization – al Qaeda – in a Jan. 20, 2004, indictment returned in the District of Minnesota. A June 21, 2005, superseding indictment also charged Warsame with one count of providing material support to al-Qaeda and three counts of making false statements to the FBI. Warsame pleaded guilty to the material support count of the superseding indictment on May 5, 2009. The government has agreed as part of a plea agreement to dismiss the remaining charges.
"I applaud the many agents, analysts and prosecutors whose tireless efforts led to this sentence. This case serves as a reminder of the continuing threats we face as a nation and our resolve to meet those threats," said David Kris, Assistant Attorney General for National Security.

Yet most people seem to go through their lives without a clearly defined purpose.
