Think about the howls of outrage from the Left if George W. Bush played golf while people were being shot dead on the streets of Tehran. (hat tip Katherine)

The thing is, Bush would never have played gold while people were being summarily executed in the streets of Tehran. Never. Only a degenerate would.

 ................a ride in the presidential motorcade to get frozen custard from The Dairy Godmother on Saturday afternoon.  Twelve dark vehicles wound thru small side streets to the Del Ray section of Alexandria, Virginia, a suburb of Washington.

Liz Davis, owner of the frozen custard shop, said she had about 4 minutes of “lag time” between knowing she would have “a visitor” and the President walking in with his daughters.

Although the flavor of the day was posted as butter pecan, the President ordered a small cup of vanilla frozen custard with hot fudge and toasted almonds. (ABC News)

Obama didn’t have to make a photo op out of his trip to the ice cream store. But he did, and it represents a political tone deafness that opens him up to ridicule.

Just as we see images coming from Iran, they see images coming from America. What is going to happen if the revolution succeeds, and the new leadership looks back on what the American president was doing while they were dying for freedom?

They were being slaughtered while Barack ate ice cream. It will be hard for them to avoid remembering that image.

Next time Barack wants to take his kids out for ice cream while young people are dying while trying to unseat our common enemy, perhaps he shouldn’t turn it into a photo op.

Actually, Bush promised he would never play golf until the US troops in Iraq came home. I believe it was 18 days later when he was seen playing golf again. He also spent one third of his time in office on vacation. Where was Bush when his Justice Department was abusing the US Constitution he was sworn to protect? Where was the outcry from the Right when Bush encouraged the torture at Abu Ghraib and then later tried to cover it up? Where is the outcry from the Right against former President Jimmy Carter supporting the Hamas terrorist group, which is a violation of several Federal laws?

In a case like this in Iran, what would you have the US President -- any president doing for 24 hours a day? The truth is every president does things like these on holidays. I was a bit more upset when Obama spent a few million dollars for a night on the town while several million people whom he is supposed to serve are trying to decide which homeless shelter they should go to.

Sure, we can try to help Iran but just don't yell the next time Iran or others try to tell us what to do.

Add to that the fact that speaking out about Iran just plays into the hands of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and co., who already are trying to discredit the protesters by claiming that America "The Great Satan" and / or the CIA are behind the uprising. It's pretty ludicrous that you use these photos to say he's not concerned with the Iranian people.

Where was Bush when we all witnessed thousands of our fellow Americans drowning in New Orleans due to the incompetent response of FEMA? He was at a birthday party with John McCain- taking pictures over a birthday cake. I imagined most of you rushed to Bush's defense.

Other cities and states were hit by that terrible storm but their Republican infrastructure worked.

Yes, we witnessed people stranded and drowning in New Orleans right next to the submerged buses that Nagin refused to use to evacuate his people. And the Democrat political machine elected that rat again.

Bush was not a first responder. You couldn't hang jack on that man, so created this narrative.

As for Obama, he is not fit to wipe Bush's boots.

Did you get off your butt and drive 2,000 miles BY YOURSELF, without a place to go, and just jump in to help? There was no place to stay, there was no electricity, but we went anyway. They were DYING by the thousands! Were you there to witness the result of a massacre of family pets at a school in St. Bernard's Parish? Were you there to help carry away the rotting, stinking carcasses of dead animals? It was a beautiful occasion, but let me tell you something, at that wedding reception, we took some time to remember the people of Iran, and the struggle that they are going through under great oppression. And several families at that wedding have loved ones serving in Iraq.
