Dearborn, Michigan, features the most highly concentrated population of Muslims in the nation. Arabic Christian Perspective (ACP), and Pastor George Saieg attend the annual Arab International street festival there every year handing out Christian material to Muslims. They do this along the public sidewalks that run along the street, where the festival is conducted. It is open to the public and admission is free. Business establishments along the street remain open during the festival.

UPDATE: A dhimmi judge has ruled against the Christians. Bill Becker, a lawyer for the Christian group, just sent me this:
The court reasoned that restrictions imposed by the City of Dearborn only on ACP were reasonable time, place and manner restrictions. We naturally disagree, inasmuch as no other citizen is ordered to restrict what he or she can say or hand to another person. This is content-based discrimination against a Christian group, whose mission is to peaceably bring the good news of salvation to people attending the Festival.
Why would the judge find this to be anything but unconstitutionally content-based discrimination? We don't have a clue. ACP will now be treated as second-class citizens, forced to pass out their DVDs and booklets around the corner from the Festival, while other groups will be able to freely distribute their materials. Strangely, the Festival is allowing them to set up a booth and participate in the festival. It will be impracticable for ACP's 90-some volunteers to man the booth, so they will have to find another place to go. They are free to mingle along the Festival just as long as they don't pass out their free material.
Our lawsuit will proceed, and we will seek an order permanently enjoining the city from violating ACP's First Amendment rights. To many people this controversy may seem minor, but as Spencer observed in his book, "Stealth Jihad", the OIC has made it clear that Muslims are to use the judicial process to eliminate criticism of Islam. In this case, we do not know whether the Festival had anything to do with the city's decision. And ACP is not there to criticize Muslims. They are there to do the good work of evangelizing, which might be perceived as threatening activity in a city boasting the highest per capita population of Muslims in the nation.

At the festival's website americanarab.com their "partners" include the CIA!?

Sounds like an opportunity for signs of honor killing victims' bodies and the gory photos of the brutalized muslim women.

It would probably best if the ACP stuck to its plan and simply distributed Christian material. I agree that they should be permitted to do as you suggest, but in reality the police very often violate the law. If the cops assigned to keep this assembly orderly decide that folks showing gory photos are inciting a riot or displaying obscene material then they will bust the good guys (isn't that the typical way it goes in the UK these days?). I fully understand that Muslims incite themselves to riot and that all they need is to latch on to some perceived offense to justify it, but that is their tactic. I also fully understand that if it were not for the obscene behavior of Muslims then photos like you describe would not exist. But still, if the ACP has had no troubles mingling with the crowd and distributing their materials in the past, then maybe they should stick to their playbook.

I meant a different protest from the ACP -
I think it's great what they do and hope many more Christian organizations get serious about converting the pagan muslims

Everything is written in Arabic, and their schools ( our public schools) follow their religious schedule...

I traveled there a couple times just to see. This was before I was totally awake, and I went in a bookstore by myself. Hijabed saleswoman wanted to know what I was looking for, I said just looking and she hovered. I said I think I'll go look over there and she said This is where the English books are THOSE are just politics and history (the dark close stacks) a group of men were in the stacks not speaking English and I heard one word directed at me "A-mer-i-KAN" as if they aren't. At the time I felt this is the USA I can be here if I want, but needless to say I left within about 2 minutes

I imagine a meeting with the police went something like:
Well, although we certainly agree with their 1st Amendment rights, we can't guarantee someone in the crowd won't take offense at the proselytizing and can't guarantee their safety...so.....

Hi - Point 1: Richard, all they are trying to do is to stick to their plan, so I don't understand your first sentence.
Point 2: Ok, someone should go there and detail what kind of groups are their this year with booths - such as maybe, oh I don't know, satanists, wiccans, you know, whoever or whatever other persuasion other than Christian are there with actual booths in the main tents. What's fair for one is fair for all.
Point 3: This is billed as an Arabic festival, not Muslim. Are there Christian Arabs? You betcha. Maybe we should be looking at who is actually sponsoring this festival.

Have any of you seen that some liberal braindeads on blogs have expressed how beautiful the call to prayer is? Reminds me of a friend of mine. She thought hearing a rattlesnake rattling was so COOL...
So after hearing it in person and seeing what it can do she changed her mind. Such is the muslim call to prayer. It is the embodiment of evil. A mermaid calling sailors to the rocks. Jihadist calling liberal braindead idiots to their own beheadings.

Today the festival website has changed photos, and don't know if they're corp. "partners" as it does not say that but there's now the seal of the US Intelligence Community and the large letters FBI there, along with various corporations. The logo for American Arab appears to have a small lying crescent above the letters A A see www.americanarab.com

Just wanted to add that at the Arab Chamber of Commerce site for the festival (www.americanarab.com) under the tab Members Area--then under Trade Opportunities--there's documents apparently linked from the US Dept. of Commerce. There's docs for Yemen, and West Bank, Gaza, and a copy others. Looks like a good place to see what companies NOT to buy from anymore!
