The stealth President Hussein is moving so fast, you won't/can't believe your eyes. Our guns, my dear friends, are the line in the sand. I can't keep up with the slash and burn of the 'President". An unarmed civilian population is sheep to slaughter.
One Man's Thoughts has more
Pass this on to everyone who believes in strict Constitutionalism and remember that laws only apply to those who obey them. Criminals by definition and nature do not abide by laws. New laws and restrictions only apply to the law abiding citizen and are not written with the criminal in mind. With guns, it is not abou t having laws on the books to prosecute individuals, it is about taking guns away from the people so that no one has them in the first place. One last item to note, when assuming power and creating a facist state, Hitler was a proponent of strong gun laws because a disarmed populace was much easier to control than an armed one. The Kings of old also outlawed weapons of any kind in any region that they conquered to quell the ability of the citizens to uprise against them.
The Founding Fathers of this Nation understood all of the above and because of this they included the Second Amendment in the Constitution. In fact, they knew that at some point in every society's life span that the need for the population to arise came about. To this end they made the right to keep and bear arms against a tyrannical state an absolute right that could not be revoked. They did this because the first thing tyrants and despots do is to remove a populations right to defend themselves. When this is done the tyrants have no problem with the destruction of society as we know it.

Note the last part of this bill.
TITLE VIII--INAPPLICABILITY SEC. 801. INAPPLICABILITY TO GOVERNMENTAL AUTHORITIES.
This Act and the amendments made by this Act shall not
apply to any
department or agency of the United States, of a State, or of a
political subdivision of a State, or to any official conduct of any
officer or employee of such a department or agency.
What Jim wrote me:
"Its obvious what Obama is doing. Moving on all fronts at ONE time so the opposition is overwhelmed. While we focus on stimulus, and lose, here comes the gun laws, the gitmo closures, dropping prosecutions against the cole bombers, etc. Gets harder to keep up with it all at one time."
UPDATE: NRA website has more (hat tip Mongol)

"...submit to mental and physical health records being put on file,..."
And just when will our dear leader, who has fingertip control to launch nukes,
have to submit to a full psychological examination????.....After all, this bill
is in regards to users of all phallic symbols that pack a punch and fly through the air with the greatest of ease.

friends:
follows a five sentence debate you may have with any serving politician in the congress, who supports "gun control."
1.)sir, are you accompanied by security?
2.)are they armed?
3.)will they protect your life with those firearms, if necessary?
4.)i assume that you agree that protection of your life is worthy of recourse to firearms?
5.)would you please explain, then, what makes your life sufficiently more valuable than mine, such that you may have recourse to firearms to protect yours, while you would deny that right to me?
it is simple, direct, and gets the point across.

Registration is the first step to confiscation.
I'm no history buff, but pretty sure that is the path that was taken by Hitler, Pol Pot, and Stalin.
Start writing your representatives and making phone calls because the only other option is to find a waterproof container and bury all your guns and ammo in a safe place and hope you still have them and a vote after four years.
Criminals don't obey the law -- they will still have their guns when ours are taken away. Easy pickings for the evil ones!
This is Very serious stuff!

Colt or Kimber?

richard,
if you want just a straight forward model 1911.45 acp in the service automatic size, say for a pistol to have in your home for personal defense, then either a colt or a kimber will do just fine. as would a pistol in the service automatic size in .45 acp from springfield armory, or smith and wesson, or any number of other manufacturers and assemblers. springfield armory makes a pistol highly reminiscent of the wwii service pistol issued to our troops and in a parkerized finish, for a very reason $750 or so. it is not as shiny as pistols with a high polish & blued finish, but it will be rugged and dependable for a good price.
if you want a pistol for discrete carry purposes, then any number of firms sell fine weapons in what has become termed the "combat commander" size, pioneered by colt many years ago. again, any of the above firms can accommodate your wishes. for pistols which are tricked out for carry purposes, you may expect to be getting into the $1,000 price tag range.
if you want a pistol for deep carry purposes, and it must be a .45 acp, then i think that i would recommend kimber, as they make some very small 1911's, and they have a lot of experience in making short slide/short barreled guns work reliably, and function with the entire gamut of ammunition that might be encountered for use in a weapon like this. this is an issue for buying a compact 1911 pistol, as the original format for the gun was based on the larger service model geometry. there is a lot going on in trying to get a short barreled pistol to work reliably, and this is reflected in the price tags, starting at $1250--$1500, and up.
other firearms manufacturers, such as les baer and wilson arms also make very high quality model 1911 pistols, and highly customized and finished, at that. they work fine, too, but you may expect them to carry price tags of $2500 plus. it is up to you whether such prices are justified, especially when very serviceable & reliable arms are available at a much cheaper price, from colt and springfield armory.
remember, colt has been making the basic pistol from the time the design was perfected in 1910 or 1911, and colt made the predecessor colt 1905 pistol before browning finalized his work on the 1911. colt should know what they are doing by this time, and they have a fine reputation for quality. the same may be said of every firm mentioned.

Well of course America's not-so-secretly Islamic fuhrer in the White House wants Americans to disarm themselves and to abandon their Constitution in favor of the Kuran. When he secretly arranges for jihadist armies to invade America (as I know he will), slaughter American people and Islamize North America (surprise!) the last thing he would want is for Americans to successfully defend themselves against Islamization and jihad.

If I can toss in my two cents (three with inflation), I own Sig pistols - Sig Pro 2022 (9mm) and think they're tops.
The last firearm I ever thought I'd own was a foreign-made piece. I've had many Kimber's Colt's, SW's and others in my hands, but the Sig's seem to be made for me.
Suggestion though, go the gamut, put many different pieces and calibers in your hand and test-fire. Independent firearms dealers with shooting ranges usually offer the ability to test-fire several different models. Take them up on the offer and learn, learn learn.
The single most important thing is to get the piece you're comfortable with and can handle safely at all times.
Cheers !

This is the first thing the Marxist South African government did. And then they started a revenge genocide on the white Afrikaner Boer farmers. George Soros is involved there too.
It's liberal areas like OBAMA'S SOUTH CHICAGO that can't handle gun rights. "Change" those people -- not the gun laws.
We're in danger, people.

B.S.: The NRA is a weak sister. May I urge each of you FIRST to consider joining either Gunowners of America (gunowners.org) or Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership (jfpo.org) -- or BOTH.
Then, and only then, after you have joined one of these NO-COMPROMISE gun groups, should you -- in my view -- consider joining the NRA prissies.

The day is fast approaching when we may have to choose between Liberty and life itself! May most of us have the courage choose the former!
To understand how serious this issue is, please review the beginning of the recent film "Defiance" to see how the Germans were shooting UNARMED Bylorussian Jews AT WILL (and without mercy).
Yeah. Sure. Gun control is about public safety and prevention of crime. Anyone believing this line of nonsense should also be willing to buy a bridge in Brooklyn -- at a good price, mind you!

I didn't realize you were such a gun buff Pamela. I am impressed!
A "wheel" gun works for me for home protection. Figure if I need more than six shots I'll grab the 12ga riot gun. IMO a 44 mag is fine for bears in Alaska but too much recoil to get off a quick and accurate second shot.
OTOH, the .357 mag can also fire the lighter .38 cal rounds. While the 125 gr .357 mag round is quite the man stopper, the .38s are a good target round.
Never jammed a wheel gun.
Always thought the 9mm was a bit light.
The .45 is a very good choice, but will always have a revolver as a back up.

pamela:
i might mention that sig sauer also makes its version of the u.s. govt. model 1911 semi auto pistol, also in .45 acp. it is, of course, made to very high standards, and the machining and fit and finish are excellent.
if i might amplify kenny solomon's suggestion to handle and test fire a pistol before purchase, and i hope i have his permission.--when you handle and fire these pistols, pay particular attention to the way they "point," and the access to the main fire controls, such as the safety and slide release. one of the things i have done for years, and only with the permission of store clerks, to is find an object at some distance from where i stand, pick up the pistol, close my eyes, and with eyes closed point the pistol at the selected object. i then open my eyes without having moved the pistol.
the the model 1911, almost invariably the sights are pointed at the object i have selected. a lot of times, dead on. this is no accident, as john browning designed the angle of the pistol grip to the axis of the barrel and slide of the 1911 to do this. with other pistols, which may look far sleeker, this is often not the case, adn some pistols, such as the glock, have a reputation of not being very good at instinctive shooting. this facet of the 1911 is a desirable feature to have in a pistol, as it means that far less conscious adjustment of the weapon is needed to bring the gun to bear and make it ready to fire. the 1911 excels at this.
not a few pistol manufacturers have copied the grip angle of the 1911 for this very reason.
as kenny solomon says, it is important to examine a weapon and handle it before you buy it. when you first lay eyes on a 1911, you will be dismayed by how slab sided and ungainly it appears. this will change when you pick it up, because it is transformed in the hand to a lively and responsive object: it is kind of amazing, actually.
when you purchase it, practice, practice, practice and practice some more. nothing beats being familiar with a weapon.

Hope this is not out of place here. Just got this email from my daughter who is a police officer and Iraq war vet:
"Subject: FBI job test
The FBI had an opening for an assassin.
After all the background checks, interviews
And testing were done, there were 3 finalists;
Two men and a woman.
For the final test, the FBI agents took one of
The men to a large metal door and handed
Him a gun.
'We must know that you will follow your
Instructions no matter what the circumstances.
Inside the room you will find your wife sitting
In a chair .. . . Kill her!!'
The man said, 'You can't be serious. I could
Never shoot my wife.'
The agent said, 'Then you're not the right man
For this job. Take your wife and go home.'
The second man was given the same instructions.
He took the gun and went into the room. All was
Quiet for about 5 minutes.
The man came out with tears in his eyes, 'I tried,
But I can't kill my wife.' The agent said, 'You don't
Have what it takes. Take your wife and go home.'
Finally, it was the woman's turn. She was given the
Same instructions, to kill her husband. She took the
Gun and went into the room. Shots were heard, one
After another. They heard screaming, crashing,
Banging on the walls. After a few minutes, all was
Quiet. The door opened slowly and there stood the
Woman, wiping the sweat from her brow.
'This gun is loaded with blanks' she said. 'I had to
Beat him to death with the chair.'
MORAL:
Women are crazy. Don't mess with them"
Never hurts to laugh. Just never forget!

Thank you for a very articulate expression of what I have been feeling these past three weeks! It is impossible to put out all the fires at once--and every week it seems to be accelerating even more. Obama is committing more outrages in a single day than Bill Clinton used to in a month!
God bless the NRA.

I read an article somewhere a couple of months ago and I think it was Admiral Yamamoto who said that the reason Japan didn't launch a ground assault on the U.S. was because they knew that every American was armed.
Think about that.
I think its time that the Liberal traitors who are working to overthrow our government think about that. And we, as patriotic Americans, need to think about it too.

So, my fellow Patriots, what is our plan when the inevitable happens? How will we organize against Hussein's gestappo? Where will we find our Paul Revere?

I've been all over my congressman like stink on doo-doo on HR 45. Now, S 22 in the Senate is another bad one. It expands the National Park Service's gun ban OVER AREAS THAT ARE NOT NATIONAL PARKS!!! Talk about feds overstepping their bounds!!
To track HR45, use this:
http://www.opencongress.org/bill/111-h45/show
As for the debate between 9mm and .45ACP, I offer the following:
1. Murphy's 14th Rule of Combat: never go into battle with something that does not begin with a "4". (.45ACP, .44Magnum, .40S&W.. you get the drift)
2. In Afghanistan, Marines getting sent over there were REFUSING 9mm, especially that POS Beretta, and taking their own .45ACPs with them. The brass was looking the other way. Now Marine Expeditionary Units and other units are being issued .45ACPs. All SOCOM and SEALs are carrying .45s of one kind or another. That speaks volumes.
3. The _real reason_ the Army went with the 9mm was not because NATO went with it, it was because certain officers high up complained that the .45ACP hurt too much and was not accurate.
The .45ACP does kick but it's still my pistol of choice. I own five and am building a 6th custom one from scratch. As for accuracy on Army models, the problem is the Army allows TOO MUCH SLOP on the slide, and accuracy suffers.
The .45ACP was designed with two words in mind: STOPPING POWER. :D

It is a sad day that our nation comes to this. The founders, knew that the protections of the bill of rights were what stood between liberty and tyranny. Now, we about to loose all.
All of us should consider what Washington, Jefferson, Madison would do if they were alive today. If we allow our speech and our firearms to be removed then we have no hope left. The line must be drawn here.
Our union is unique, and our founders knew it was fragile and did not have confidence that it would last more than a few decades. Now we must consider the price of freedom. Are we willing to stand with Washington again?

I really hate to be critical, but, honestly , some of you sound like you're asleep.First, let me say, that i'm 70 yrs old, a former marine, a gun dealer for 17 yrs, and finally a competion shooter for over 50 yrs. I have shot nearly every type and make of popular hand gun on the market& if you think that you have to have a 45ACP for protection, you're wrong. I have close at hand, a CZ75 in cal.9MM, & i guarentee you that it will stop anything human that threatens you. I also carry at all times a 22 calmini revolver, that believe me when i tell you willcause you to be just as dead as anything else, even a 45ACP.There are a lot of folks that are unable to shoot & control a big gun, & can easily lose it to whomever they are being threatened by, & may in fact have it used against them because of it. Whatever your choice, make sure you can handle it before u put ur ownself in jeopardy with it.
