GEERT WILDERS ARRESTED! REFUSED ENTRY

Dutch lawmaker Geert Wilders, in a text message, tells the Associated Press he will be returning to Holland within the hour after arrest.

 "I am in a detention centre at Heathrow ... I am detained. They took my passport. I will not be allowed to enter the country. What is even more hypocritical is that we watched in horror as hordes of Muslims and leftists rallied in the streets of London calling for Jewish genocide, calling for the destruction of Israel, and that was OK. Scenes depicting a Jewish blood libel of Jews eating babies. That was ok. The Brit police actually escorted the would be annihilationists to the Israel embassy while being assaulted, insulted and under seige.

The plea of a free man:

"Threat to society? I'm an elected member of Parliament; I have done nothing wrong," "I'm a normal, law-abiding democrat. You might agree or disagree with my political point of view, but I'm no threat to anyone."

On his flight to London, he told The Times that the British Government was “the biggest bunch of cowards in Europe”.

In the House of Lords today, Lord Pearson, the peer who invited Mr Wilders to Britain, mounted a staunch defence of Wilders' right to show Fitna.

Lord Pearson said he disagreed with some of Mr Wilders’ views but believed he should be allowed to express them.

He asked Home Office minister Lord West of Spithead: “Do you think this situation would occur if Mr Wilders had said ban the Bible. If it would not have occurred, why would it not have occurred?”

“Surely the violence and the disturbance that may arise from showing this film in this country is not caused by the film which attempts to show merely how the violent Islamist uses the Koran to perpetrate his terrible acts.

“The violence is coming from the Jihadist, the violent Islamist, and surely the Government in doing what it has done is therefore guilty of appeasement.”

Lord West replied: “I certainly don’t think we are guilty of appeasement in any way whatsoever. I don’t want to go down the route of discussing a hypothetical case of what if he talked about this, what if he talked about that.”

He told peers: “Under European law a member state of the European Economic Area may refuse entry to a national of another EEA state if they constitute a threat to public policy, public security or public health.”

Freedom of speech in Britain is gone, perhaps forever. Sad to see a country jettison its spiritual foundation, the Magna Carta and Protestant Christian heritage and descend into this, but the outcome is predictable, for human rights do not come from man, and when a government rejects this fact, the spiritual foundation of law, loss of freedom surely results. It will be very difficult if not impossible to regain freedom, but good people must try.

The saddest part of all is that so many British people don't yet realize that their freedom is now gone, like an autumn leaf falling to the ground in the dead of the night. I hope citizens of other nations will recognize what is happening and begin to move to keep their G-d given rights.

Its been happening for a long time now and the deportation of Geert Wilders from the UK is just the latest episode in the West's surrender to Islamic radicalism. As Mark Steyn has noted, in today's multi-cultural societies that have less and less to hold their disparate parts to hold them together, the first government response to social tension is often censorship.

But its one-way street. The enemies of the Open Society can undermine the West and its liberal values but their critics who point that subversion and who defend those values are being muzzled and some cases jailed.

So what happened to Wilders should concern all of us. His plight is just part of a larger picture and in the battle against Islam and jihad we're losing and the lights of freedom are going out all over the West.

The Assyrian Church is one of the most ancient churches, started in the 1st Century A.D. (Anno Domine, "Year of Our Lord," not CE, "Common Era"). The Assyrian Church has been almost obliterated by Islam. Even so, in 1968, Saddam Hussein managed to get the Assyrian Patriarch assassinated in the US.

Pope Benedict XVI is very aware, as is Bartholomew I, Patriarch of Constantinople (even more so) of the threat that Islam presents to Christianity. Any sober student of history would be aware.

Britain's almost completely dead, as is Europe.
