These were moderate Muslims, right? "A prominent Buffalo area Muslim businessman who founded the BridgesTV network to improve the image of Muslims in the U.S. has been arrested and charged with murdering his estranged wife – by beheading her at his company’s office in Orchard Park, N.Y., on Thursday."

We are throwing our women out like so much chattel. Where is the wall to wall television coverage like you get with Natalee Holloway and Callee Anthony, Jesse Davis? ..... Because the vulture media has already submitted to Islam and the women who experience the worst abuse at the hands of shariah are on their own. 13 February 2009: Muzzammil “Mo” HASSAN, the founder and chief executive officer of Bridges TV, a Buffalo, NY based Islamic television Network he helped pioneer in 2004 amid hopes that it would help portray Muslims in a more positive light, reportedly admitted to police that he beheaded his wife at the television station yesterday afternoon.The victim was identified as Aasiya Z. Hassan, 37, who just last month, filed for and received an order of protection against her husband.

According to police, HASSAN walked into the Orchard Park police station shortly after 6:00 PM

yesterday and admitted that he murdered his wife earlier in the afternoon. While Erie County, NY District Frank A. Sedita III stated about the murder that “”…this is the worst form of domestic violence possible,” it is more pertinent to understand that the act of beheading in Islam is frequently and closely associated with “honor killings.”

The intentional mainstream media obfuscation of honor killings and the act of beheading as both relate to Islamic fundamentalist practices & beliefs is anticipated, especially in this case. (For a good primer about Islam and honor killings, please read this 2008 article written by Robert Spencer).

the police initiate the initial steps of the criminal procedure, and suggest a charge.

preliminary hearings are held to discuss whether the case merits being held over, and whether the public is best served by holding a defendant in custody while charges are prepared and filed.

somewhere in this county, in new york, a prosecuting attorney will make a charging decision, or a bill will be returned by a grand jury, setting forth the specific charges to be filed against the defendant.

we shall know soon enough what the charges will be.

i would find it absolutely inconceivable were beheading the method of inflicting death that such would not merit 1st degree murder charges, as it is pretty hard to imagine how one could not form malice aforethought to kill by cutting off the head of his wife.

if, however, he killed his wife by some manner consistent with second degree murder, ... , and, at a time subsequent cut off her head, for insult or humiliation to her, that would not change it to first degree murder.

we should keep in mind, that to some, this fellow was the best islam had to offer our country. in my view, there is no room for islam within the midst of democracy, the values of the religion, if we may call their beliefs that, are inimically antagonistic to the values of democracy, or any system of enlightenment. they are barbaric, are muslims, and the religion to which they adhere is barbaric, and has no place in the midst of civilized people.

As Jawa Report blogger Rusty Shackleford has pointed out on another occasion, people simply do not realize just how much effort and work it takes to cut someone's head off if all you have is a knife. (There are ample videos out there showing Muslims doing this -- it is not like you can decapitate someone in a brief flash of anger.)

This is a terrific story, as it points out the myth of "moderate" Muslims.

The POSTER BOY for "Moderate followers of Islam" -- a highly-educated and successful man living in the US and married to a beautiful woman -- just decapitated his wife during some sort of dispute.

Of course the MSM will not report it: All they can think of is running into some outraged follower of the Religion of Peace in a dark hallway in a New York City apartment building some night.

Thanks "jj" for the info on booking procedure, yet I can't help but think that it is more likely that the police book suspects traditionally on higher charges and later on a judge or grand jury will keep or lower the charge to a lesser offense based on the strength of the evidence and other factors. I'd like to hear from any others who may know for sure how this works.

Was it on this blog that someone said half the world's population will be Muslim by the end of the century? I salute John Jay for his militance. I salute also those who point out, correctly, that most of the 'national security apparatus' of the US is corrupt and bought off by Arab interests.

Excuse me if the chronology of my thoughts here is out of order, and please indulge me. I get cable, different channels, and saw the beginning of an interview yesterday from New York by CNBC's Erin Burnett with the President of Bosnia, a Muslim. He wanted investment, and he began by thanking Pres. Clinton for helping 'stop the genocide' in Bosnia.

This kind of reporting is proof not only of the media's complicity in the spread of Islam(ism), but is also evidence of the links between the big corporations like GE, owner of several channels, and those in the State Dept, CIA, with links back to the Muslim world. That is, there is no real free press in the US. People go on about the MSM, but Fox is MSM too. As someone wrote earlier, why did Fox report this news story? Why are acts of violence committed by Muslims in the US consistently deMuslimized, from the Seattle Jewish community center to Muslim students driving SUVs into students at UNC, on and on?

There is a sad and not-so-complex answer. Because there is extensive Arab/Muslim ownership of these networks, and because even without it the corporate Dons who own the media in groups and chunks want to preserve at all costs their business relations in the Arab/Muslim world.

And this necessitates an anti-Israel policy, and in the end, suicide of the US of A. It can be argued that in the name of accumulating wealth or of preserving a standard of living and lifestyle, the US has already effectively willed itself out of existence. The name is there, the claims are there, but most of the energy is spent on infighting while the enemy claws through the gates.

We in Israel will not surrender, despite the many claims by hawks in Israel and elsewhere that we have. Not so, not in the end.

While I am not one to usually condemn another's religious beliefs, there is no room in America, or the globe for that matter, for any religious group that practices murder as a "ritual of honor."

Trying this scum for murder seems so little, but what else can be done?

Religious tolerance has its limits and clearly, this practice far exceeds that.

As we see here Islam teaches, institutionalizes, and conditions Muslims to commit first degree murder on a virtually unlimited basis. Mr. Hassan was simply performing a perfunctory Islamic act of murder which Muslims do every day with about as much concern as they would have for a box of laundry detergent.

Last year I observed Muslims moving into my neighborhood. Needless to say I do not live in that neighborhood any longer--I got out (and FAST).

Peculiarly, it is doubtful that this nightmarish recent murder committed by Mr. Hassan in Buffalo will derail Islam's inroads into American society. Intensifying Islamic violence in a society which Muslims immigrate into usually seem to have the reverse effect: it accelerates the inroads Islam makes in the foreign society and speeds up the process of Islamization there. Instead of reacting more strongly, the masses seem to simply get more anesthetized and apathetic towards Islamic terror with increasing Islamic acts of violence.

The fact that the Buffalo Police are now deluding themselves into believing that Mr. Hassan has committed an act of second degree murder is indicative of the anesthetizing process Islam is managing to impose on American society. Any non-Muslim would reasonably get hit with a murder one rap for beheading their spouse without a doubt (and they would likely be headed on the fast track to death row for it as well). But America now evidently has two sets of laws: one for Muslims and one for "infidel" suckers--Hassan may escape the penalties any of us would get for committing such a terrible crime as his. And I don't see much outcry against this situation either.

It really wouldn't be the strangest thing in the world if 'Waterboy' Obama (our jihadist dictator masquerading as our president) secretly was to offer official congratulations to Mr. Hassan for his Islamic deed!

As far as I know, this is the first beheading in WNY but far from the first honor killing. There have been at least three other honor murders and at least one unsuccessful attempt. This is not to dismiss the many many arrests for sending funding illegally to alQueada and other terrorist groups. A 911 operator accessing unauthorized information for her muslim friends on FBI and police inveatigations into her family and friends. The list goes on and on.

Here you have highlighted what I believe is the burning emblem of the western case against Islamist encroachment; violence against women. Feminists, liberals, conservatives, and the “street” in America all state this behavior is outrageous, unlawful, and unacceptable. I am a cop of over 20 years who specializes in domestic violence, and counsels couples, and my PhD dissertation is on domestic violence. I am immersed in domestic violence, and honor killings are simply dressed up, religiously excused versions of the oldest recorded criminal activity, domestic violence (Cain murdered his brother Able, classic domestic violence).

Regardless, the liberal feminists in America have shunned their sisters in pain, to protest such events as the limits on female membership to Augusta Country Club, while females are being stoned to death in Islamic countries for reporting that they were raped. Insanity!!! I have long rued Bush’s failure to highlight this approved Islamic activity under Sharia law as a difference between western values and Islamic tradition, but he did not out of political correctness. I do not believe Obama will do any better. Feminists and women advocacy groups should be screaming from the rooftops, as Sharia law is as anti-women’s rights as it gets. The silence is deafening...
