The keffiyeh was Yaser Arafat's swastika and became a powerful symbol of jihad. In the ensuing years, the keffiyeh as an icon of anti-Americanism, anti-semitism and anti-westernism took on a life of its own. The death-to-the-Jews marches across the globe during the Israeli defensive these past few weeks were awash in keffiyehs from London to Paris, to New York, to Fort Lauderdale, to Bahrain, to Thailand .....well, you get the picture.
If that weren't awful enough, Bert Anciaux, Belgium politician from the Social Liberal Party (there's that damn Islamic/commie alliance) is arguing that all men should be wearing it. The dhimmitude and surrender to barbarians is astounding, is it not?
Today every right-minded Fleming, every right-minded men, should wear an Arafat scarf [ie, Keffiyeh]. Out of solidarity with every oppressed, out of alliance with anyone who's in danger, for those who risk their life every day. The Arafat scarf has existed longer than it's most famous wearer, Yasser Arafat. But he made the scarf world famous. It has become a symbol for Palestine, but is was never an aggressive or negative symbol. But forbidding it now, you stigmatize every wearer of it as a potential aggressive person. And that is more than exaggerated.
