The gunmen received constant orders and news from handlers believed to be in Pakistan Rhys Blakely in Mumbai

Chilling telephone conversations between the Mumbai gunmen and their handlers emerged yesterday from an Indian dossier of evidence linking the attacks to Pakistan.

During the atrocities a gunman in the Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai told his commander, believed to have been in Pakistan: "We have three foreigners, including women." The response was plain and brutal: "Kill them."

Gunshots than rang out, followed by cheers, according to a leaked transcript of the intercepted call.

The details emerged as the Pakistani Government admitted for the first time that Mohammed Ajmal Kasab, the sole gunman to be captured alive during the attacks, which left more than 170 people dead, had links to the country. "He has links to Pakistan but the investigation is ongoing," Sherry Rehman, the Information Minister, said.

The Indian dossier also describes how the Pakistan-based handlers ordered another team of gunmen who had seized Nariman House, an ultra-orthodox Jewish outreach centre, to execute their hostages.

"If you are threatened immediately kill them," one handler said. "If the hostages are killed, it will spoil relations between India and Israel."

The gunman replied: "So be it, allaha akbar" Six Jewish foreigners, including a rabbi and his wife, were shot dead inside the building.

Those giving the orders are alleged to be senior members of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), the Pakistan-based terrorist faction that Indian officials believe still has the support of Pakistan's powerful spy agency, Inter-Services Intelligence. They include Zarar Shah, the LeT's communications chief, who has been arrested in Pakistan and is believed to have admitted his role to Pakistani investigators. "He played a major part," Rakesh Maria, the officer in charge of the police investigation in Mumbai, said.

The calls were part of a dossier handed to Pakistan's high commission in Delhi on Monday. "The commanders in Pakistan are following events on television and are issuing real-time instructions; telling the gunmen to target certain nationalities and religions; to maximise casualties; not to touch Muslims. This is hands-on direction," a senior Indian government official told The Times.

ears that the conflict in Gaza could spark violence between Jews and Muslims in France have been heightened as three teenagers were arrested yesterday for an alleged anti-Semitic attack on a 15-year-old girl.

An inquiry was launched after the victim said she was insulted, knocked to the ground, kicked and punched by a gang of 10 youths as she left Leon Blum school in Villiers-le-Bel north of Paris.

Three of her alleged attackers - aged between 13 and 15 and all from her own school - were arrested on suspicion of 'aggravated violence and anti-Semitic insults', according to a police source.

Although she escaped with only minor injuries, the incident has fuelled claims by Jewish community leaders that radical Muslims are seeking to 'import the Middle East conflict'.

Richard Prasquier, the chairman of the Representative Council of Jewish Institutions in France, said: "All over France, people are reporting more and more anti-Semitic attacks. I am worried."

The National Bureau of Vigilance against Anti-Semitism, said it had received about 100 reports of anti-Semitic insults and threats since the start of the conflict in Gaza. On Monday a stolen car was driven at high speed into the front gate of a synagogue in Toulouse, south west France, and set on fire.

Police said they were seeking three suspects in connection with the attack, which was denounced by Michele Alliot-Marie, the Interior Minister, as "totally stupid and revolting." In a separate incident, anti-Semitic graffiti was scrawled onto a synagogue in Lingolsheim, eastern France.

A demonstration against the Israeli intervention in Gaza ended in clashes between police and protestors, who also ransacked shops in Paris on Saturday.

With 4 million Muslims, 700,000 Jews, tense relations between two communities and a long history of urban riots, France is the European country most exposed to an outbreak of violence linked to the Middle East, according to many observers.

Amid official concern that France's tinderbox suburbs could explode as a result of Gaza, Mrs Alliot-Marie has ordered police chiefs to "stop any attempt to transfer the Middle Eastern conflict to France.

"A certain number of facts...show that groups or individuals may try to exploit the situation," she told them in a letter this week. "Everything must be done to avoid this risk and guarantee the principles which ensure national unity."

A number of school administrators have come forth in recent days to confirm that they recommend Jewish children should not enrol at their schools.

According to school administrators, law enforcement officials and social workers, the on-going conflict in Gaza has led to heightened tensions between Jews and Arabs - particularly Palestinians - here in Denmark.

And although few headmasters of schools have faced the situation, most of those at schools with a high percentage of children of Arab descent say they try to prevent Jewish parents from enrolling their children there.

On Monday, headmaster Olav Nielsen of Humlehave School in Odense publicly admitted he would refuse Jewish parents' wish to place their child at his school.

Other headmasters have now come forth to support Nielsen's position, adding that they are putting the child's safety first.

At Caroline Skole in Copenhagen's Østerbro district, video cameras watch over the playground and entrances of the school, which is surrounded by a 2.5 metre-high barbed-wire fence.

One parent whose child goes to the Jewish school said thinking about the extra security can be disturbing at times, but she felt it was necessary.

Allow me to propose a metric for evaluating whether a journalist is behaving responsibly or not: If he reports that Israel bombed a UN school and killed 30 civilians, he is irresponsible. If he reports that Hamas used a UN school as a weapons cache and base of operations for launching mortars at the IDF, and the IDF’s return fire killed the Hamas cell along, tragically, with a yet-unspecified number of civilians, then he is behaving responsibly. If he wishes to be particularly scrupulous, he might additionally note that Hamas had rigged the school with explosives which detonated after the IDF took out the mortar team, killing a large additional number of civilians. And he might add that you can go to the IDF’s Youtube channel to from 2007 of Hamas using the very same school as a mortar-launching base.

Journalists who abjure reporting the vital details of this story should be called what they are — activists masquerading as reporters.

BLOGGER CONFERENCE CALL: GENERAL EITAM AT THE BATTLEFIELD

General Effi Eitam is an Israeli war hero, a foreign cabinet minister, and a senior member of the security and foreign affairs committee in the Knesset. I had the honor to interview him with other bloggers on a conference call earlier today. One Jerusalem.org put together this critical opportunity to cut through the media's anti-Israel campaign and get to the facts.

General Eitam receives regular updates and participates in frequent meetings with Israel's minister of defense and the defense forces chief of staff. He has two sons fighting in Gaza and  has just returned from an official visit to the front lines.

It was magnificent to hear a great warrior speak unapologetically of defending the Jewish people. He was clear and concise. It is comforting to know that men of his caliber, fortitude and clarity are helping drive the bus. He gave a brief overview of the millions of Israel under siege for years - suffering the relentless rain of rockets from Gaza. He said Hamas' military infrastructure was targeted and destroyed with very few civilian casualities. Hamas has been beaten and has suffered a lot of damage - their physical infrastructure and their will to fight have been melted. He thinks the population has turned his back on this brutal, irresponsible leadership. They are captives now of this irresponsibility of government.

He discussed the depravity of the Hamas thugs, their use of human shields and residential homes as firing bases. Shockingly, he revealed that Hamas was shooting civilians in the feet to stop them from running away.

I asked Eitam if the massive anti-Israel, Jew hating rallies across the world had effected Israeli resolve. Was it affecting popular opinion or was Israel focused on her objective? Eitam said Israel was somewhat surprised - not by the reaction in the Arab world. It's to be expected in Islamic countries. But the rallies in Europe and the US were troubling and the result of large Arab immigration.

Other bloggers on the call were Omri from Mere Rhetoric, Anne from Boker Tov, Jerry Gordan of Iconoclast, among others -- including Ted Belman of Israpundit, who noted these points:

1. Israel will continue with its assault for another two weeks. Rather than enter into to Gaza City and fight street by street, Israel will invite the Gazans to leave the city and go to the sand dunes of Gush Katif where a temporary city will be set up for their care. Then Israel will pulverize Gaza City from the air until Hamas surrenders.

2. Israel, even then, won’t rush into a ceasefire agreement but will manage the aftermath carefully. Ultimately IDF will return to Israel.

3.  Israel will insist in any settlement that Corporal Shalit be returned.

4.  There will be no more smuggling of arms. Period.

5. The Defeat of Hamas will not move the peace process forward. There is no peace process. The Arabs have to choose between the status quo or a fate similar to the fate of Gazans. The Arabs prefer Israel protection to having their own state. Everything is improving in Judea and Samaria and the Arabs know it.

6. Israel is unified and committed to preventing Iran from getting the bomb. From what he said I got the impression that the attack on Iran is not far away hopefully with international support.

Eitam was asked about the breaking news that Israel accepted a truce.

He was... highly skeptical. The fact that Israel has just dropped leaflets over the Gaza-Egypt border - signs of an impending operation to dismantle the smuggling tunnels one by one - lends something above an iota of credibility to his intuition.

 

He said point in fact that he did not believe it.

He said that he has never seen the people of Israel so strong in their resolve. They are unwavering. Eitam said the lessons of the Lebanon Hezbo war were well learned. Israel learned well from her mistakes.

HUMAN SHIELDS WHERE'S THE OUTRAGE ?

Hamas' use of the children and other innocents as human shields at the UN school got it desired effect yesterday.  They they fired mortars on Israeli troops, the troops returned the fire, and dozens of civilians died or were injured, along with the terrorists. There is a library full of evidence proving it isn't the first time Hamas has used innocents as human shields.
 

Hamas built armories in the basements of Mosques and schools, private homes and hospitals. They create their bunkers and weapons factories in crowded neighborhoods. All of this "construction" was done out in the public. Under the watchful eye of the UN as well as human right's organizations such as Amnesty,  Human Rights Watch (HRW), and B'tselem.

Where was Ken Roth, head of Human Rights Watch when Hamas was violating international law and setting up children as human shields? He was busy trumping up accusations of collective punishment against Israel for defending herself.
 

How about Irene Khan the Secretary General of Amnesty International, surely she must have noticed that Hamas was "drawing targets" on hospital beds? No She was too busy blasting Israel for occupying Gaza, even though Israel left Gaza three years ago.

David Kretzmer and Gila Svirsky of B'tselem were too busy working on their annual report fabricating Palestinian civilian casualties to prevent any REAL civilian casualties. 

Where is the outrage? Why is no one complaining that these supposed Human Rights groups have chosen to distort international law, ignoring the real danger to Gaza civilians. 

The blood of the innocent women and children called out to these groups, but they fell on deaf ears, these organizations were too busy creating false charges and anti-Israel propaganda to notice the real human rights crimes.

Please read this post from a soldier's mother:

Yesterday, mortars were fired FROM the school In Jebalya. This was a direct and intentional attack on Israel, on Israel's soldiers and population. Mortars are explosions. They are loud. You can't pretend you didn't hear them. Many months ago, I went to a ceremony on a base where Elie had completed his basic training. Part of the ceremony included Elie's group showing their parents what they had learned. After the awards and the talking, some of the soldiers ran to the armored personnel vehicles, while others, including Elie sat on the ground and watched. An officer came near me, as I stood watching with my youngest daughter. He told me to sit down with the girl "on your lap." So, we sat down, as the soldiers were doing. As another officer was explaining to the crowd about the types of explosives that would be fired, where they would be targeting (the hill a few kilometers in the distance), etc. I saw the soldiers stick their fingers in their ears.

I thought to myself - they've been doing this - they know. So I told my daughter to do the same...quickly. She did, and so did I. Except - then I couldn't hear the explanation and so I uncovered my ears. Now, I've lived in Israel more than 15 years, but there is still sometimes a delay factor in my Hebrew comprehension. Now they are going to fire...took me too long and so, I heard and felt the BOOM as the cannons fired.

Everyone in that building yesterday KNEW that the school was being used as a launching ground...and yet, apparently not one of those thought it would be a smart thing to leave. That seems strange to me, unnatural. I was once in Jerusalem, walking with by two daughters when something "exploded" ahead of me. Everyone around me stopped, as I did. It was a bus hitting something that went flying in the air and crashed loudly into something else. People began to move and yet I stood there, unsure what to do. It should be both human instinct and parental instinct to move away from danger.

And the people who now mourn the "innocents" who died in yesterday's attack on the United Nations school don't question why people remained in the building from which these weapons were fired. They don't question that this defies human instinct and certainly what should have been every parent's first reaction. The people in the school died for three simple reasons:

1. Palestinians decided to use the United Nations school as a launching base to attack innocent civilians. This wasn't the first time they had used the school. Months ago, Israel filed a formal complaint to the United Nations. Clearly, nothing was done to stop this abuse and so we come to reason # 2.

2. The United Nations did not stop the Palestinians from using their area. One might argue that they could not stop them - and the answer, the simple answer was that they should then have made it clear, publicly, that they could not offer a place of refuge in a firing range. They should not have allowed families to take refuge in such a place. And that brings me to # 3.

3. The families and parents. I heard a father mourning the death of his son. He blames the Israeli government, and I blame him. "Are you insane?" I want to ask him. "How could you allow your son to be near mortars being fired? What did you think Israel was going to do?" Why didn't you take your son? Why didn't you behave responsibly? It was YOUR job to protect him; to love him enough to keep him safe and it doesn't take a genious to figure out leaving your son in a building from which mortars are being fired in the middle of a war is negligent, stupid, insane, and so so wrong. How could Israel have known that there were people in the building? All they could know is that mortars were being fired from that location. My son is stationed far from the cities. Why? Because if he is a target, we don't want civilians nearby. We do not hide in hospitals, in schools, in homes. Why, why do the Palestinians? And if they do, why, why does the world blame Israel?

People will ask how it is that I don't blame Israel and the answer is simple. Fire came from that building. Call it what you want - a school, a refuge, a mosque, a home...if you shoot at an enemy...common sense would say the enemy will shoot back. Do it from inside a mosque, and the mosque becomes a target. Do it from inside a school, and the school becomes a target. Do it from behind your citizens and families, and you show the true nature of your society, your culture, your cause.

So, beyond the tragic pictures from yesterday, I offer a deeper image of what life is like in the Middle East. There are the tragic pictures - but please take a moment to look beyond...and below.

And what they forget to tell you - is the people who allowed these many pictures to happen, the ones who posed these children with guns, painted their hands with "blood" and strapped "explosive belts" to their bodies, the ones who raise them to believe death should be attained for the glory of God and the more Jews and heathens and infidels you take with you, the higher your place in Heaven - they are the ones responsible for the horror that happened yesterday, because they are the ones who put hundreds of people into a place that should have been a sanctuary and then they turned it into a launching ground.

Muslims offered the inhabitants of Iraq an ultimatum: "Accept the faith and you are safe; otherwise pay tribute. If you refuse to do either, you have only yourself to blame. A people is already upon you, loving death as you love life". Most of the Iraqi tribes were Christian at the time of the Islamic conquest. More here

THE THREE CARD MONTY OPTION

The day before yesterday Ambassador John Bolton declared the two state solution an abject failure, which was a very good thing.  He went on to suggest a three state policy where Gaza is returned to Egyptian control and the West Bank (in some configuration) reverts  back to Jordan. I vehemently disagreed. This is JEWISH LAND. Period. Further, Jordan doesn't want it - they threw the  "Palestinians" out and murdered thousands of them - which is why Arafat set up camp in southern Lebanon (and we know how well that worked out).  And the last thing Jordan wants is Hamas setting up shop in its borders. Egypt clearly does not want Gaza (who would?)

My friend and colleague John gave the proposal considerable thought after a furious flurry of  email exchanges. He has fleshed out the argument and I think it quite good. It's lengthy, so grab a coffee. Forgive Mr. Jay's seeing contempt for capital letters .....

if it aint' broke ......

there are several ways to look at a political status quo, especially if it is a less than desirable situation.  the current goings on between israel and gaza provides such a choice in view.—either chaotic descent into further decadent failure, … , or, the attempt of events nominally out of control to impose an odd sort of rationality upon themselves.  neither view implies stasis, and both views acknowledge a fluidity of events.  it seems to me that the best view of a less than desirable situation is that view which admits of some further approach to rational control of events, and here we apprehend human intervention into the flow of events, and posit a viable approach to the imposition of the constraints of rationality upon them.

this last additional element moves us from an objectifying abstraction to considerations of policy, and the intervention of considerations of human wills and aims.

and so, we come to my reactions to a very interesting paper written by former john r. bolton, former united states ambassador to the united nations, entitled “the three-state option” and appearing in washingtonpost.com, the post’s own transition to a more rational tomorrow given the decadent spiral of the printed newspaper into oblivion: even the post looks to a viable approach to a changing future.  the post may not like it, but it has chosen rational change.

ambassador bolton  advocates change, a frank abandonment of the theory of the palestinian authority  ever being viable governance over the “gaza territory,” and a re-absorption of gaza into egypt, and of the west bank into jordan.  ambassador bolton’s thesis finds encapsulation in these brief sentences, from which all else of his argument flows:

“among many anomalies, today’s conflict lies within the boundaries of three states nominally at peace.  having the two arab states re-extend their prior political authority is an authentic way to extend the zone of peace and, more important, build on governments that are providing peace and stability in their own countries.”

and, in an economy of exposition much lacking in the world, we have no further to go in see whether ambassadors bolton’s argument stand or fail than the assumptions built into the last sentence of the above excerpt.  and though i have unbounded respect, admiration and affection for mr. bolton and for the forthrightness of his argument, i think his view lends itself to further decadence of the gaza situation, and does not lend itself to rational constraints upon the violence found there.

what are the assumptions in that last paragraph?  they are:

1.)the exertion of governance by jordan and egypt over these territories somehow achieves a peace not achievable by the exertion of governance over them by israel, and

2.)this governance over the palestinian entities by the arab states somehow lends greater peace and stability to egypt and jordan.

i think the logic & argument premised on these assumptions flawed, as these assumptions fail under examination and question, at the very least to the extent, that ambassador bolton has a whole lot of further exposition to do, in order to convince the careful and cautious thinker that the “virtues” of the status quo be abandoned, and there are some, in order to seek some sort of quixotic refuge in a plan that very few people would adopt enthusiastically, and that many see as seriously flawed from the standpoint of their own naked self interests.  the two greatest objections to this three-state scheme coming, of course, from the two entities absolutely needed to agree to it, … , that being jordan and egypt. ambassador bolton recognizes this, and further recognizes that the only way around it is naked bribery, and a bit of overt pressure from the united states.  he writes:

these sentences are brilliant, not (in my view) because of the policy in them, but because they at once recognize neither jordan nor egypt can be forced to take this bastard child back into a welcome home, and that the “carrot” to do so is the promise of more money and the “cudgel” applied if they choose not do so is to have the money they are receiving now cut off.  please read those sentences again, with a critical eye, and see if i have not explained them accurately. 

in short, ambassador bolton quite nakedly says that the currency of his solution to the problem is united states currency.  (one might well expect israel would be a recipient of such inducement as well.)  i am going to explain in just two words why his notion of the value of this currency to egypt and jordan is very grossly inflated, and i do this with both clarity and celerity.--

PARIS: France’s public broadcaster was forced to apologise to viewers yesterday after it mistakenly used amateur footage shot in 2005 to illustrate a report on the current Gaza conflict.
France 2 television on Monday broadcast part of an amateur video presented in a voiceover commentary as showing the fallout from an Israeli air strike on a civilian area in Gaza on January 1.
Dating from September 2005, the video, which has been widely circulated on the Internet, actually shows civilians wounded in the accidental explosion of a pick-up truck loaded with Hamas rockets at a rally in Jabaliya refugee camp.
Alerted by the French website LePost.fr, France 2 admitted its mistake yesterday and made a formal apology to viewers in its midday news broadcast.
“It is an error on our behalf. There was an internal malfunction in the checking of information,” a France 2 executive told AFP.
France 2’s head of news reporting, Etienne Leenhardt, told LePost.fr that ....  The people who put it together worked too fast”.

It is one of the central doctrines of the Leftists’ church: “land for peace.”

That was supposed to put an end to the conflict in the Middle East. These days we encounter the definite end of that dream. The Israeli army last Sunday returned to Netzarim. Three years ago, Netzarim and other so-called ‘settlements’ were abandoned as a part of the framework of disengagement. This withdrawal should have then led to peace. But 5,000 arguments for a different reality rained down in the form of Kassam rockets on the residents of the Negev.

“Land for Peace” is a medicine based on the wrong diagnosis. The war against Israel is not a territorial conflict and thus can not be solved with territorial concessions. Giving away an area does not help. Hamas cum suis are not fighting for pieces of land but for the total final victory of Islam, to which the rapid destruction of Israel is only a transitional stage. The conflict is jihad, the violent duty of every Muslim. Israel is located on the fault line of the dar-al-Islam and dar-al-Harb. To Islam, all of Israel is occupied territory and Tel Aviv is as much a “settlement” as was Netzarim. The Hamas charter doesn’t know the word ‘polder model’.

Encouragement

The withdrawal from Gaza in 2005 was a huge encouragement to aggressive Islam. What the West convulsively tried to view as a step towards peace is translated by true Muslims as a sign of weakness. The 5,000 rockets from Gaza were therefore the logical consequence of an ideology that seeks to destroy the West. Samuel Huntington, who ironically enough died in the week before the first bombing of Hamas, already wrote it: “Islam has bloody borders”. You can move those bloody borders of Islam, but with that you only shift the jihad. What does it show? “Settlements” are no barrier to peace, but a barrier against terror.

Muslims view the conflict as an Islam-related conflict. It is not without reason that during pro-Hamas demonstrations over the whole world “Allahu akhbar” is prominently chanted. Saturday this was illustrated when Muslim colonizers demonstrated in Amsterdam, together with the extreme Left. The SP (Harry van Bommel), the Olive Trees Campaign/ICCO (from Doekle Terpstra), and the inevitable Gretta Duisenberg showed how much the Left in the Netherlands has merged with Islam and hatred of Israel.

My colleague Van Bommel showed without the slightest embarrassment his true extreme face by publicly and loudly calling for another intifada against Israel. The Left demonstrates with flags of Hamas and Hezbollah, along with portraits of Khomeini and the Hezbollah leader Nasrallah.

The fight against Israel is a fight against Europe and the Netherlands

Seventy years after Auschwitz, in the streets of Amsterdam, partly at the expense of the taxpayer, sounds the cry “Hamas, Hamas, Jews to the gas.” This is what Doekle the Dhimmi [Doekle Terpstra, Christian Democrat] apparently means with his “benoemen en bouwen” [“naming and building”]. Would he view the Jew Haters of Saturday as moderate Muslims?

Therefore, never give away any more land to the Arabs. But what then? To begin with, there is already a Palestinian state, and that is Jordan. This land covers nearly eighty percent of the historic Palestine. Most residents of Jordan are Palestinians, for instance queen Rania. Those who are looking for a territorial solution have thus found it. An eventual second Palestinian state is no improvement, but rather an encouragement for more jihad and thus more bloodshed. Judea and Samaria, the heart of Israel, must therefore remain in the hands of Israel whatever the cost, with Jerusalem as the undivided capital of the Jewish state.

Deterrence

The war against Israel is permanent because it is jihad. However, the conflict can be made manageable and the Netherlands can play a role in this. To begin with, deterrence should again be the cornerstone of the Israeli security policy. That used to be so until Israel in 1992 surrendered to the Oslo wishing dream. The Netherlands must help to press forward the notion that Israel is fighting for the West and therefore must not give in to the Arabs. Not an inch. If Israel falls, Europe is next. Israel is our first defensive frontline. The fight against Israel is a fight against Europe and the Netherlands.

The billions that the EU and the UN in past years dumped down the endless drain in Gaza must be reversed. The Palestinians have done nothing positive with the money, apart from making it serve the madly popular Hamas terror. It would be good to invest that money in masterful Israeli science and high-tech. The tiny state of Israel has grown to become a global center where the brightest minds in the world are creating inventions on a daily basis that have been a blessing for all mankind. Such a change will provide a boost to the Israeli economy. This success shows the whole world that Israel is not of transitory nature, but a persistent source of progress.

Would it not be great if the money that now goes to the terrorist infrastructure of Hamas, might be used by, for example, the Weizman Institute in Rechovot to find a cure for Alzheimer’s disease or multiple sclerosis? International aid money, not for death and destruction but for a future to our sick and elderly. A more beautiful beginning of the new year is cannot be imagined.

And to the Israeli army: kol hakawod, all success! You fight for us too.

Top American Muslim Threatens U.S.

Leading American Muslim publicly threatens U.S. for supporting Israel

"One of these days, the U.S. will suffer more deaths than all those killed in this third Gaza holocaust. This will happen soon"

Not terribly surprising since he also once said that 9/11 was planned by America. As this report points out, however, Salah Sultan is not just another hate-preacher appearing on Arab TV; he also "holds U.S. permanent residency status and, according to one federal law enforcement official, travels regularly on a U.S. passport." Moreover, he is on several prominent U.S. Muslim boards and committees -- many of which (no doubt temporarily) removed his name from their websites and membership lists immediately after MEMRI translated and posted his tirade.

Islamic cleric Salah Sultan appeared on Egypt’s Al-Nas TV last week and delivered a warning of death and destruction for America. Not only did he attack the U.S. for its military support of Israel in its fight against the Hamas terrorist organization, but he vowed retaliation such that more Americans would be killed than those Palestinians (and, presumably, Hamas terrorists) killed in the present conflict in Gaza, emphasizing that this would take place “soon”:

"America, which gave [Israel] everything it needed in these battles, will suffer economic stagnation, ruin, destruction, and crime, which will surpass what is happening in Gaza. One of these days, the U.S. will suffer more deaths than all those killed in this third Gaza holocaust. This will happen soon."

He also invoked a notorious Islamic hadith on the inevitable annihilation of the Jews by Muslims:

"The stone, which is thrown at the Jews, hates these Jews, these Zionists, because Allah foretold, via His Prophet Muhammad, that Judgment Day will not come before the Jew and the Muslim fight. The Jew will hide behind stones and trees, and the stone and the tree will speak, saying: 'Oh Muslim, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him.' The only exception will be the Gharqad tree."

This harangue would be nothing new on television in the Islamic world; in fact, it is commonplace. What is unique about Sultan’s threats against America is that he holds U.S. permanent residency status and, according to one federal law enforcement official, travels regularly on a U.S. passport. And as I have reported [1] elsewhere, Sultan is pursuing U.S. citizenship (the status of his application is unknown due to federal privacy laws). Thus, Salah Sultan has lived quite comfortably for more than a decade under the protections of the very country he now threatens with death and destruction.

It should be noted that Salah Sultan is not some obscure figure in the American Islamic world. He serves as a member of the [2] Fiqh Council of North America. Touted as the top Islamic governing body in the U.S., the Fiqh Council is an arm of the Islamic Society of North America. Sultan founded and served as president of the [3] Islamic American University in Southfield, Michigan; he was the national director of tarbiyah (Islamic instruction) for the Muslim American Society; and he continues to operate the [4] American Council for Islamic Research, based in my hometown of Hilliard, Ohio.

Sultan’s Al-Nas TV appearance last week was [5] recorded and [6] translated by the indispensable Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI). Curiously, as soon as MEMRI published the video clips of Sultan’s harangue, references to Sultan’s membership with the Fiqh Council were scrubbed from its website. His name has been removed from its [7] list of council members, even though he appeared there as recently as early last week. However, Sultan is still listed as a member on the Fiqh Council’s [8] brochure posted online (no doubt that will be remedied as soon as they are informed of this report)...

CANADA AND ISRAEL ARE AT WAR WITH THE SAME ENEMY (SG reports) - hat tip Sandy

Images from today's pro-Israel, anti-islamofascism rally in downtown Toronto.

The islamofascists were out in force, displaying repeated violent outbursts and crowd-control problems for the police.

The police eventually asked the peaceful and well-behaved pro-Israel group, numbering maybe 1/20th of the pro-terrorism crowd, to depart from in front of the Israeli consulate so that the police could disburse the muslim mob that was pressing on the barricades.

This on a day when Canadian soldiers continue to be killed and wounded by these same Muslim terrorist groups .......... people among the Muslims in their crowd were flying the flags of the Canadian-outlawed Hamas and Hizbollah : Iranian-backed islamofascist terrorist para-military brigades. They also did some shoe-flinging and spitting ............. lovely.
